Ali Tareen shared, “In Pakistan, especially in the villages, a very common blessing is: ‘May God give you seven sons‘.”

“But when my wife and I were expecting, I prayed every single day to have a daughter. Some older family members would tell me I should pray for a son because I love sports, I can teach my son to play cricket and I can take him to games.”

The owner of Multan Sultans further added, “I would say: ‘Why wouldn’t I teach my daughters cricket? Why wouldn’t I take them to games?’ Society had placed limits on what fathers and daughters should do, and I wasn’t going to have any of it.”

At Maghrib, we got this news, and you can imagine what the scene must have been like at the dinner table. Our father has this quality that he faces such diseases head-on, so he decided that he would get the surgery done within two days. I remember the discussion—it was a tough time. We even wondered if that might be our last dinner together, but the operation was successful. One kidney was removed. I can share the symptoms as information for viewers: he once went to urinate and the urine was blood red, but there was no pain. Talking about designing the character, Ali Tahir said, “I read the script of ZPKB and resonated with it. I felt the purity of the character Afzal Chacha. I also found it relevant to the story and that it was connected with all the characters. When I read the script, I found out that Afzal is very close to his father. He always discusses his father so I asked Saifee if I would wear an army sweater which had memories with his father. After the release, Mustafa said that his sister told him that Chacha Afzal also used to wear the sweater and it was a part of his personality”.

Talking about the message of drama, Ali Tahir said, “The drama has significantly conveyed its message especially it showed two outstanding progressive fathers who belonged to different social settings but have the same qualities who supported their children and had understanding of what their kids want in life. Both, Nofil and Meenu’s father came from different social statuses but they knew what their children need from them. So! I like this message of ZPKB”.

Actor-Anchor Ali Saleem better known for his role as Begum Nawazish Ali is in the news again. He was arrested today on the charge of possessing alcohol.

Ali was at a guest house when police took him and his friend in custody for alcohol possession. He was arrested and taken to Clifton Police Station.

The police raided the place after they got news about a kidnapped child, several people were arrested from the scene including Ali.

Oops. Seems like Ahmed Ali Butt is not the only one having an issue with the nominations of Lux Style Awards 2016. Ahmed Ali Butt wanted his nomination to be moved from Best Actor to the category of Best Supporting Actor.

Now, Ali Safina was nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actor for his work in film, Jalaibee. Through a Facebook post, Ali Safina expresses his gratitude to the people at LSA, but says that for him, the appreciation he gets from his fans is the biggest achievement and he wishes for nothing more. He also goes to highlight that he did not play a supporting character in Jalaibee and that his character was the main protagonist. LSA doesn’t get it right.

People all over the world went crazy for Murtasim aka Wahaj Ali and his shawl which was always present and never had a sliver of being dishevelled, whatever the circumstances maybe. Fans went gaga over Murtasim’s shawl’s flow and how Wahaj Ali made it iconic with hs performance. The shawl was everywhere and people simply loved it.

Later on a Ramadan drama became a mega hit and that was Fairy Tale. Ali Safina was an integral part of that show and he played the character of AK. He recreated the shawl moment with his own spin on it in Fairy Tale and people had loved it at that time. Here is how AK looked with his own Murtasim shawl.

Talking to VOA Urdu, Ali revealed that he shot that scene in December and it was very cold outside. He asked his female co-star to bring him a shawl or something and he just wanted to put a comedic spin on the drama. He at the time had envisioned Batman as his inspiration when he walked away with a flying shawl but it later became Murtasim’s signature move.

Hira Tareen and Ahsan Khan supported Mahira Khan and said that she’s amazing, she is the Shahrukh Khan of Pakistan and then Ali Safina instantly said, “unfortunately, the same thing is said for Shahrukh Khan in India”.

Hira Tareen said, “I was hoping that you would take another name, whom I do not fancy at all, you should tell about that person whom you also discussed about, a few minutes ago”

Ali said, “Yasir Hussain’s acting Hira doesn’t like at all”

Hira Tareen said, “I don’t even like him like over all, I’m sorry, my opinion can change but Yasir wouldn’t probably be caring if I like him or not but I don’t like him”

Ali Safina said that it’s rude that Hira Tareen & Ahsan Khan both are not defensive about Yasir Hussain but they are defensive for Mahira. He said that it is horrible, and also believed that it’s because of the star power.

Hira replied, “it’s not about star power but it is about “Tameez” , he is just not good at his behavior, it’s not about acting and it’s about how you behave with others”.

Ali Safina further said, “yes, and Yasir doesn’t have styles like Mahira ( said while acting as Mahira )”. He also said that how come a pretty Pakistani girl doesn’t know about “Raddi Wala”. Hira Tareen, then, also said that even she knew that “Raddi Wala Thing” despite being born and raised in USA.

Replying to the question, “What will Ali never do in his life”, Ali answered, “I will never ever speak against Pakistan. Nowadays it has become a trend to talk against Pakistan, talk against establishment, politics, cricketers, artists, come on! give us a break, why everyone is judging others. We are deteriorating as humans. Why are our people against everything, like, we sent our spaceship in satellite, people are even taking against it, I will not do this thing”. Pakistani dramas are doing great as far as TRPs and YouTube views are concerned but the content has taken a major hit in the last few years. Mostly the dramas are made from the same love triangles and sisters rivalry formulas and there is a lot of toxicity involved in 99% of the scripts. A lot as been said about this problem with scripts in the last few years but nothing has been done.

Ali Safina is an actor who has been a part of the industry for years and he has given some very strong performances. He was a guest on Fuchsia where he exposed the reality of many drama writers and how scripts are being written by content teams and why is the situation so bad.

He said that many writers have teams and they just slap name on different scripts after refurbishing old stories. Moreover the drama is shooting when 7-8 episodes are in and the writer is never given proper time or enough money to deliver a compact script. He also shared that writers are not paid good money and they give bad scripts in return. He added that same writers have written good dramas for Green Entertainment as they were paying good money.

Tere Bin is a drama that broke viewership records on television and YouTube. It was a massive phenomenon in Pakistan as well as in other countries. The stars of the show Yumna Zaidi and Wahaj Ali became global sensations after the drama aired and people are dying to watch season 2 soon. The drama had many weird plot points, there was an outrage on the basic plot as well and we also saw dragging and later on cut down of the original storyline after the uproar but it was still a big hit.

Though Tere Bin was a huge sensation, it came under a lot of criticism as well, as many people found it to be a mindless story. Memes were made out of it and not everyone was a fan. Ali Safina who is an actor and a host also had something to say about it. Ali is right now a part of two big dramas Jaisay Aapki Marzi and Mannat Murad.

Talking during FHM podcast, Ali called Tere Bin a Dustbin. Talking about bad scripts and bad working conditions in the industry, Ali said that the overall standard of the work needs to be improved. He said that though Yumna and Wahaj are great actors but bad standards make dramas like Tere Dustbin where people then have a lot to complain about.
