Nauman Ijaz is facing severe public backlash for defending the Pakistani team’s poor performance. A social media user wrote, “We pay taxes to let them have a good lifestyle. And hundreds of the good players never get selected because of Nepo kids and players who disappoint like this”. Another cricket fan wrote, “No Sir! Now is the right time to criticize this team because they have made it a pattern to lose every match of a big international ICC event”. Another netizen said, “They are given a heavy amount as pay , it is better to spend this amount in the country’s betterment and it is not about losing once or twice , they have been losing for 2 years. It is our right to question them”.
