Lately on World Mental Health Day, model Mushk Kaleem opens up about a time she was struggling to make peace with her looks, the scuffle crippling her well-being and distorting it both mentally as well as physically. Mushk started off with that 2019, was probably the most rewarding year of her career, but when she look back and think about all that she went through last year, she realized that her mental health had completely taken a back seat.
I was a model, adapting to fame, success and accolades. Of course, everyone thought I was okay, living the dream. I knew then, that to complain about anything would be unthankful. I was hospitalized on my 25th birthday last year. I was almost 48 kilos and I was suffering from severe body dysmorphia. I would spend hours obsessing over my weight, about losing those few inches on my waist, about getting those perfect hips, or about just looking the part. I had started starving myself, not eating for 24 hours and more, I was abusing drugs, I was unhealthy, Mushk added.
Mushk was a 6 feet girl suffering from severe anorexia. She would occasionally blackout. She needed help. She thought it had less to do with her field of work and more to do with how she was okay with being so self-destructive. She was comfortable with being unhappy.
Now a year later, Mushk is a happier person. She has been clean for more than a year. She have found support and happiness in family, friends, and pets. Mushk have set boundaries that she never let people cross. She decided that she could still be beautiful, no matter what number the weighing scale would say.
Mushk also opened up about how going to therapy and putting herself first put her on the road to recovery.
“I tackled my issues head on, and at first it was scary and it aggravated my anxiety, but I’ve grown, and I’ve healed. It’s still an ongoing process of recovery that I’m on, but I’m glad I started somewhere, says Mushk.
At last Mushk added that our mental health impacts our thoughts, our actions and our lives. Here’s to taking care of our minds, our bodies, our souls.

Yesterday, Models Hasnain Lehri and Nimra Jacob were indulged in a physical fight at the backstage of a fashion show. The fight went extremely viral on social media. Next day, Nimra Jacob issued a detail of the incident which happened to her.
Today, Hasnain Lehri talked to the Express Tribune and shared his side of the story about the viral fight with Nimra Jacob. The model refuses to accept the allegations of physical abuse by model Nimra Jacob. He said that Nimra Jacob started the conflict first. The model says, “I come from a very respectful family, we aren’t the kind of people who would get into an issue as petty as this.” He also claimed that she was the one who bumped into him while walking on the ramp and later came to him and started teaching him to learn to walk on ramp. What it feels like, to think at one moment that you’ll be bringing a baby home in seven months and the next second you know that you won’t because your embryo doesn’t have a heartbeat. It’s doesn’t end here. The process of terminating the pregnancy is like the worst nightmare. It’s like so much pain without any gain. I’m still dealing with complications after miscarriage that I would like to talk about in detail in another post,” she added.
In the end, Farwa Ali Kazmi shared how we all survived this year and said, “This year hasn’t given us many reasons to celebrate but we have survived despite all the hardships and that’s celebratory. I received love and care during these difficult times, that was unknown to me before. It is because of my family and some of my friends (you know who you are) that I was able to process this trauma and can now talk about it openly. I am so so grateful for you all.”

In the show, Ekra Faiz replied to the question about the most overrated Pakistani television and film actor. She said that she’s a popular face, Hania Aamir, but she is an overrated actor. Talking about it, Ekra Faiz said, “I am giving a name. She’s very popular though, she has improvised a lot, I am not against you but Hania Aamir, I know she has improvised a lot but she came instantly and she was everywhere but if you see actresses like Yumna Zaidi, she is such a fine and subtle actress. Saba Qamar is also great actor but they gave to struggle a lot. Pakistani women have always made us proud in various ways be it entertainment or other professions, they’ve managed to do it all. The model Diya Ali recently made it to the Miss Asia Pacific 2016 and aims for Miss World 2017. She won the Miss Perpetual title at the Miss Asia Pacific World and is all set to shoot for her debut film produced by Sonia Ahmed. She also plans to take part in Supermodel International Competition in Bulgaria this year.

Images: Why don’t you tell us about yourself? How did you enter this field?
Diya Ali: It was a very sudden thing actually. I just wanted to be an actress, maybe a model, that’s as far as I could dream. But someone from the textile industry saw my pictures on Facebook and messaged me, asking me to visit their office to take part in their campaign’s shoot.
I was really surprised, wondering how this could have happened. I remember visiting with my mother and thinking this is all true! Next day I did their shoot and things just started moving from there.
Images: What was the shoot for?
Diya Ali: It was a lawn campaign. The name was United Silk Clothing. Later on I walked on the runway for them as well.
Images: So modeling was not a dream of yours from the start?
Diya Ali: Not exactly, it wasn’t THE dream when I started. But when I entered the field and saw how it all works, I loved it. I want to work in the fashion world in a better way, maybe take steps towards projects on an international level. I want to be an example for others, those who keep themselves in one specific aspect of the field, I want to show them how we can and should work globally.
Images: Tell us about Miss Pacific 2016. How was your experience?
Diya Ali: The Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 contest was very challenging, having been the first Pakistani woman in Pakistan’s history to be selected as a contestant (and then a finalist!) in the oldest and world-renowned beauty pageant.
It was exciting but tough. I was on my own in a foreign land amidst strangers. I had never traveled abroad before this pageant and I was very nervous initially. I make friends easily so it became easier as the days progressed but the day of the pageant was tough, it took all my training to remain calm, composed, focused and pleased.
Images: Did you learn anything about yourself through such a new experience?
Diya Ali: The lessons I have learnt in this contest which I still remember and apply in life are: you are not better than anyone; you are your best when you remain peaceful and happy, and; that goodness is contagious.
Images: Considering you planned to model and act, what made you think about participating in a beauty pageant?
Diya Ali: Beauty pageants are a big platform for contestants today. They are opportunities to empower women with self-confidence. It can create many more opportunities for a woman to discover one’s own potential.
Images: Who took you to this platform?
Diya Ali: The two people behind my Miss Asia Pacific international 2016 success story are Sohail Rashid, who told me about this event, he is a well known PR rep. And Sonia Ahmed’s company [President of Miss Pakistan World & Mrs. Pakistan World] is also connected with the international project.
Images: So what lies ahead for you? What are your plans for 2017?
Diya Ali: I’m keeping an eye on the Miss World title! I want Pakistan to win Miss World 2017. That’s top priority for me. I really want to spread a positive image of Pakistan. After that I want to work in the Pakistani film industry as an actress. Who knows, I wouldn’t mind being a part of the Hollywood industry in the future.
Images: Do you have any plans of working in films/drama in future?
Diya Ali: I have done many serials for different channels, Mor Mahal, Bay Daro Deewar Ghar, Shehrnaaz, and yes, in Pakistan I want to work in films but it must be on good subjects and with an experienced and qualified team.
Images: How do you perceive the fashion industry in Pakistan?
Diya Ali: Pakistan’s fashion industry has grown a lot in the past few years and it continues to do so. I think it’s actually an important aspect of our economy. Look at all the Pakistani designers participating in international fashion shows. It really helps in painting a positive and healthy impression of Pakistan globally.
Most often when people spend so many weeks in jail they don’t look as fresh as Ayyan looks. The reports are that the policemen in Aadlia jail are bribing their officers so that they will be appointed as security officers for the model because that is the only way they can have one look at Ayyan. Ayyan’s lawyer informed the court that model Ayyan was getting many allergies in the jail for which she needed medication and she also needed additional security because she might harm herself in some way.
The Court has not given bail to Ayyan and have asked her to appear in court after a week. Until now all evidence is against the model although she is denying that she was taking the money out of the country for the people whose names are being taken.

Up till now the odds have been against model Ayyan because all she is getting is one court hearing after another but the model looks happy with her fate. Model Ayyan always makes sure that she is dressed up well for all her hearing and this time she also wears a big smile on her face. The famous Pakistani model who has won many awards in the field of modelling is now facing tough times after being caught with a large amount of money while she was on her way to Dubai.

Today in Ayyan Ali’s case hearing no definite decision was taken but Ayyan shared her sentiments about how she felt about all the things that were being said about her in the social and electronic media. Ayyan maintained that no one had the right to attach her name to political figures and there were all sorts of rumors going on about her on the social and electronic media which was a cause of concern for her.
Ayyan requested the Cheif Justice of the Supreme Court and the government of Pakistan to stop the media from saying things about her which were wrong. The judge who was hearing the case said that there wasn’t much he could do to stop the social or the electronic media to stop spreading rumors about Ayyan Ali. Ayyan also asked the court to free her on bail, she promised that she will not free the country if given bail. Ayyan also said that her case was not being dealt with properly. This was the peak of her career and so much time was being wasted in the judicial proceedings without anything conclusive coming out of them. Ayyan said that because of the media hype her case was being dragged for no reason.
Mubashar Lucman openly declared that Ayyan Ali was 5 months pregnant in a tweet few days ago after which the news has been on every social media page and on every channel too. The court extended Ayyan’s judicial remand till July 13th.
Model Ayyan is well known as one of the top models of Pakistan. She has worked with the best designers of the industry and she has been the brand ambassador of top local brands. Ayyan ventured into music field recently by releasing her first track ‘You and I’. The track features F.Charm a Dubai based Rapper. She also plans to launch an album in the future titled “Nothing Like Everything”.
Model Ayyan was invited as the chief guest by the students and faculty members of Karachi University’s “Department Of Public Administration “ to inaugurate the launch of their latest brand of Chips.
Model Ayyan who has recently been in news because of her on going music career was arrested in Islamabad today by custom officials because she had 500,000 Dollars which she was allegedly trying to smuggle to Dubai.
Ayyan has been sent to Adiala jail for 14-day remand. Ayyan was carrying a big amount of cash while boarding Emirates flight for Dubai while getting her luggage checked she did not tell the officials that she had this money because of which she was arrested for money laundering.
Ayyan recently moved to Europe in order to pursue a music career.
Ayyan Ali a super model of Pakistan had been accused of money laundering three years ago. She had been arrested at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto International Airport in 2015 for money laundering. Her name was put in the ECL but she had left for Dubai after she got out of Jail on bail when her name was removed from the ECL. Now in fake accounts case, in which some of the accounts are found to be linking to Ayyan Ali and the model is in the news once again. The court ordered Customs officials to arrest the accused and present her in court by October 22 at any cost.
Seems like the super model is coming back to Pakistan after all. Ayyan Ali took to her instagram and posted a picture of herself with a kid and captioned the picture, “Hello everyone!Hope ya all doing well :-) This little cutest munchkin is my best friend’s daughter!!! After getting done with my ongoing medical treatment & final checkups soon would be coming back to my Pakistan!!!.
