Mahira Khan’s Bollywood debut film Raees is set to release internationally on January 25, 2017, though the date of release in Pakistan is still unknown. Mahira couldn’t promote her film in India due to the ban on Pakistani artists by IMPPA but is leaving no stone unturned to promote her upcoming flick in Dubai.

The actor recently gave an interview to Khaleej Times.

How does it feel to finally promote your debut Bollywood film?
I am really excited and nervous as well. I am very grateful that I got to work with Shah Rukh for several reasons. He is someone who is such a big star. He is so hard working that it is unbelievable and I have taken that back home with me. I have learnt that the bigger you are, the harder you have to work.

Do you have a strong role in the movie because back in Pakistan, you have always done hard hitting roles and never limited yourself as a prop?
I actually believe there is no such things as a prop. I think even if you have five minutes in a film – it could be a dance or a line in a scene – as long as you do it with honesty, you will shine. When I got the first call for Raees, I was numb and I did not know how to react. Because it was too quick. I didn’t know anybody in Bollywood. I have never given my portfolio or met anyone, so it was very random. Someone saw my work, called for an audition and then said, come. All of this happened within a matter of a week. I couldn’t digest it then and I am not able to understand it even now. My character is that of a strong woman who is in love. She is kind and Raees’s (played by SRK) conscience. She is the lighter side of Raees’s life.

How was it shooting Zaalima?
The making of Zaalima is probably the most fun that I have had on screen. It was a song so it was easier to do. It was a bit tougher for me because we are not used to song and dance in our films even though we do it, but this kind of romance and slow speed was new for me. Zaalima was added at the last minute. I am happy that now I have a romantic song with Shah Rukh Khan. There were a lot of hours of working and we were hardly sleeping. We would sleep for an hour and run back to shoot. But it was fun. The entire cast and crew were chilling together.

✌️? @house_of_nomad you guys are the best! #Raees #mahirakhan #srk #3daystogo

Considering the sentiments of Indians and Pakistanis right now, what’s going in your mind?
I would just like to tell everybody to go and watch the film. So many people come together and work hard on a movie. Obviously, politics is not a place I would like to get into at all. I never have, but this is something that everyone talks about and of course, this has affected us. I would love it if we can just be peaceful and it has to happen from both countries. But actors don’t understand these things. We make films in India or Pakistan or any part of the world. When we are put in this situation, we don’t know how to react. All I can say is I do respect another country’s decision, whatever it may be. If there is a ban, I respect it because it’s their government and rules. I would always respect it, just like I respect my own country.

What’s keeping you busy in Pakistan now?
I am doing a film with Shoaib Mansoor who made Khuda Ke Liye. He makes a film every six years. Last movie that he made was my debut film, Bol. Because he takes so much time to write it and that’s why he is very protective about it. I had to beg him to give me the scripts. It is a hard-hitting film.

Mahira Khan won’t be seen with her co-star Shah Rukh Khan. The two actors are staying on separate floors of the same hotel. It is made sure that they are not clicked together, forget about a combined interview, reported Khaleej Times.

Mahira Khan is a gorgeous Pakistani actress who is known for her ethereal beauty, elegance, talent and ace acting skills. Nowadays, Mahira Khan is busy in promoting upcoming movie Quaid E Azam Zibdabad in which she is coming alongside Fahad Mustafa.

Lately, both the actors appeared in a podcast with Junaid Akram where they debated about films, dramas, social media, fans and negativity by public in detail.

In the podcast, Mahira Khan and Fawad were replying to the question about instant public feedback. While talking to it, Mahira said, “public feedbacks are according to situation, for example, if I would be in front of them they won’t express hate in my face that’s true”. Mahira Khan, during the instant social media feedback chat, added that she thinks that social media stars would be a thing of past. Fahad Mustafa also added that these social media stars will phase out soon. Here is the link to video where Mahira Khan predicted about the future of social media star.

Here is what Mahira Khan exactly said, “you will see, I have this feeling, I don’t know if I should say it or not, I think that social media and social media stars will be a thing of past (in slightly lower tone)”

The VJ turned actress Mahira Khan has garnered a lot of love and appreciation not only from Pakistan, but also from the neighboring countries.

Superstar Mahira Khan who lately gave a comeback on television screens with drama serial Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, recently appeared in an interview with “Something Haute”.

Mahira Khan while pointing out her disagreements with Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, mentioned that “There are many things that I don’t agree with but I’m just an actor, I had no choice to remove any scene in the serial. Unfortunately or fortunately there are some bits in the story that I don’t agree with.”

“I think it wasn’t necessary to show the level of toxicity where Aswaad is going. Aswaad is an exposed human being, he has been living abroad so he shouldn’t act the way he is currently doing. His mentality should be different from a typical person. I believe there were some problems in Aswaad’s character”, added Mahira.

There’s a sad news for all Mahira Khan fans out there because the diva has most certainly opted out of Bilal Lashari’s next, tentatively titled Maula Jatt 2.

Mahira revealed that she hates that he is not very expressive about his emotions, what she tolerates is his constant love of playing music in the house though she sometimes wants silence and what she loves about him is how he understands that Mahira likes to have her breakfast alone.

Mahira Khan is the superstar of the Pakistan media industry. It is often been said about Mahira Khan that she only works with big production houses and with acclaimed big directors. Mahira Khan in a recent interview talked about this mindset of people towards her.

“As I am evolving as an actor what happened to me is that I really started to live the character that I am playing. I never used to do that fully. I used to be very scared of that. Now I have started feeling like I don’t have anything to lose. So I am doing that and that has affected me. And that’s why I am going to be a little bit mindful of what’s I am going to take on next. I have sort of decided a few things next time I will pick up a role. I hope people are watching this, a lot of people think that I work with certain people, with big directors and with a big this and a big that. I have actually enjoyed prince charming so much and Aik Hai Nigar so much that now I am looking for a story that speaks to me. I am just looking for a director who just breaks me down and makes me into something else” said Mahira

Finally! Mahira, you should know how much we were looking forward to this episode ;) I really liked Sarmad Khoosat’s intro where he called this episode special, which it was, and you could see how excited he was to welcome Mahira to the show. There’s no denying that Sarmad brings out the best in Mahira. Mahira looked beautiful in this episode, and I loved her dress.

This was quite a mazedaar concluding episode. Mahira didn’t talk much about her work or upcoming projects, but what I did get to know about Mahira is that she is a huge fan of Madhuri Dixit ;), her day is incomplete without eating anda in any shape or form, and that she loves her Nani kay ghar ka chukandar gosht ;) Mahira’s shout-out to her father was very sweet and emotional.

Sarmad Khoosat prepared Strawberry Cheesecake in this episode. While I enjoyed this episode, I feel it could (and should) have been longer than the usual episodes because this was an Eid special, and also because Mahira was the most awaited guest. Although I enjoyed Mahira and Sarmad’s light and casual chit chat, the focus of the episode was the cheesecake so unfortunately for me, the  episode wasn’t worth the wait.

Over all, this was a great show because, well, Sarmad Khoosat. I mean, this guy doesn’t cease to wow me. He is brilliant at everything he does, but this hasn’t gone to his head – he is so simple and humble. He made a terrific host because being a significant part of the industry, he was friends with all the guests and knew them in person. Although I have never had the pleasure to meet Sarmad Khoosat, I feel that an aura of positivity pervades him. I loved, loved his Urdu and I cannot stress this point enough because considering our TV shows these days, it’s kind of a big deal. It is evident that a lot of hard-work went into this show. The picture quality was top-notch, which definitely enhanced the viewing experience a great deal. I loved the kitchen and I also really liked how they decorated it for the last episode. The whole team deserves to be applauded for their dedication. This was a simple and decent show to watch and discuss, so a shout-out to the entire team! :)

Also, I feel I should mention that the admins of the official Facebook pages of Urdu1 and Star Iftaar are very efficient and they do a great job at keeping their pages active. All the pictures that I posted were from these pages, so a shout-out to them, too! :)

This doesn’t bother me and I welcome all sorts of opinions.”
