In an interview Humayun shared that while shooting for a movie all cast and crew heard the noise of a weeping baby and someone threw a crew member out of the house after which the shooting was stopped.
Yasir Hussain
Yasir Hussain once shared that he used to live alone in an apartment which was consisted of two rooms. He used to live in one room and an old man used to live in other room. The old man was visible to Yasir Hussain only. Whenever Yasir’s friends used to come to his house, the old man used to ask him to say Fajar prayer.
He used to make noise from kitchen utensils to wake Yasir up. When he used to tell him that my friends are gone, the noise used to end as well. Yasir said that he wasn’t scared of him but his friends were.
Yasir Hussain shared another incident and said : “We were shooting for a drama in PECHS, Karachi and during shooting things started moving all by themselves. One day the landlady came and asked us to take care of her son, when staff asked about her son she said that he lives in the house”
Yasir Shared that later on, they got to know that a man took his life in that house and that women rented that house and moved out. Yasir Hussain also shared that many such incidents happened in his life but he isn’t scared of anything.
Ushna Shah
The bold and blunt Ushna Shah also encountered some horrific situations in her life. Ushna shared that they were shooting in an old building in Sadar, Karachi. This building was build before Indo-Pak separation, the furniture was also very old there. There was a table covered with a cloth. Some books were placed on the table and also a dolls head was lying on the table.
They were shooting at 3 AM, when Ushna went to that room with fellow actress she said jokingly, that doll is looking at her. Ushna ignored her but when she went to the room for third time, the hand of the doll was raised. This incident scared her badly.
Yumna Zaidi
Yumna Zaidi while talking about her ghost encounter shared that during a shoot she was in Nepal residing in hotel which was build in a tenantless area.
She was really happy at that time as her other drama was also on air. Yumna asked another actress the reason for not acting in the drama, she shared that she also resided in the same room and next day Yumna Had the picture of that room on her mobile.
Zara Noor Abbas
Zara Noor Abbas shared a horrifying incident that during shooting of a film Zara got scared and she stopped shooting. The crew started making fun of her but the directed took notice of it.
Zara also shared that once she went to toilet and the door got locked. Zara knocked the door and all the other cast members though that there is a ghost who is making noises to scare them.

Reportedly, actress Srha Asghar was harassed by a stranger. In the shocking and sad incident, the stranger tried to harass the Pyar Ke Sadqe actor. The actor and her husband have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the culprit. In the first information report, it was stated that the culprit reportedly threatened Srha and tried to harass her but she remained safe.
According to the details, the incident occurred on 1st of August, when Srha went to the market for the grocery. The FIR has been registered on the complaint of Srha Asghar’s husband Umar Murtaza. The series Kitni Girhein Baaki Hei has always been known for its bold topics but this time it crossed all limits by showing the story of a woman (Sania Saeed) whose husband (Ijaz Aslam) was shown having an affair but in the end the woman who he was having an affair with (Farah Shah) turned out to be his wife’s ex-partner. This episode of Kitni Girhein Baaki Hei was titled “Chewing Gum” and it aired few weeks back. The real shocker was when Sania Saeed’s character eloped with her homosexual partner in the end, leaving her husband in complete distress.
There are many Pakistani dramas which tackle with bold topics but usually there is a logic behind showing such tabooed topics. Showing something which is not only a taboo but extremely objectionable on a television channel which is watched by families is highly irresponsible behavior. Showing these lesbian lovers did not highlight any important issues neither did it cause awareness but it was more of a selling tactic using shock and causing sensation.
The Kitni Girhein Baaki Hei team managed to achieve what it wanted to, getting a lot of attention from all quarters but not all attention is good! People complained to PEMRA, they showed their discontent on social media and as a result PEMRA finally issued a warning to HUM TV stating that what was shown in the show was against the norms of our society.
The viewers also criticized those actors who were part of the show because they expected someone like Sania Saeed especially to make better choices. Crossing such limits does not help anyone and it does not even start a healthy discussion on tabooed topics. Hopefully, Pakistani drama makers will not follow this bad example and we will not see any more such topics in dramas again.

Homeland has the reputation of being the most anti-Islamic show ever produced in the history of American television. It basically shows all Muslims as terrorists , misogynists, conspirators, back stabbers whom a brave American woman must defeat to save America. With Pakistan being the new whipping boy of the world it was no coincidence that season 4 was set in Pakistan ( Although I didn’t know Cape town was a part of Pakistan) LOL.
The one good thing about season 4 was it’s simple story. If they had just broadcasted this line throughout Season 4 with a teleprompter ‘ We hate these Pakis’ the message would have gone across. I will not subject my readers to the torture that was the story but let us focus on it’s major falsehoods. First of all Islamabad one of the most green and beautiful capitals in the world is depicted as a rotten, violence filled hell-hole with constant violence. Pakistanis are almost all duplicitous , violent whom the brave ( and racist, Islam phobic, and possibly semi-crazy) Carrie must deal with.
Also it seems the American failed miserably in the language department. Literal translations from English to Urdu done by Google is used which create some really hilarious sentences like some body condoling a death by saying ‘ mujhe maaf Karen’ A translation of ‘I’m sorry’.
The actors accent is dreadful too.
As usual The show follows the long-standing tradition of hiring Indian actors to play Pakistanis. Infact the only one remotely related to Pakistan is the actor Art Malik who came to the UK from Pakistan at the age of 3. He is as much in touch with the culture of Pakistan as I’m with the life of people living in Uganda or Mongolia. Infact sometimes I think our neighbors take a great delight in playing these stereotype Pakistani characters with the added benefit of American scale salaries sweetening the deal. While researching I came across a venomous article written by the Washington correspondent of the ‘Times of India’ which ridiculed Pakistan’s protest at this show and called the country ‘ Denialistan’ as well as a whole lot of other nasty things. As a Pakistani I was disgusted to see the comment section flooded by Americans and Indians ( Who waste no opportunity to ridicule Pakistan) abusing my country non-stop. What saddens me is that you will never see Pakistanis indulging in such kind of propaganda against India.
The show’s dialogue sometimes degenerated into abuse for example one character says Pakistan is not really a county but an acronym. I had a good laugh after reading this. This a classic case of pot calling the kettle black! I mean USA anyone? Isn’t it an acronym? The show basically sees Americans abusing Pakistan and flaunting it’s laws.
The show’s main focus was to show how backward we are! I mean the promotional picture had the lead looking backward in a crowd of Burqa-clad women. Like some body made a comment on ET before the show was aired that ‘I can’t wait to see Carrie sitting in a crowd of bearded men looking at them nervously in Islamabad’s Lava Café!’ Somebody wrote a sarcastic blog on DAWN called ‘ Homeland- The most accurate show set in Pakistan’. This article is a result of Areeba Mohsen’s request about me writing an article on stereotypes of Pakistan in American entertainment.
Juggun Kazim is a notable and senior Pakistani television and film actress. Apart from being a striking actress she is also a host and has hosted various shows till now. She is a Pakistani-American actress who is seen performing on various Pakistani and American plays and received immense approval and admiration. She hosted her first-ever show at the age of 16 only. Juggun is likewise the brand Ambassador of a cosmetic brand company Garnier Fructis Pakistan.
Juggun got married to Faisal Naqvi in 2013. She is blessed with three children.

The First Floor is basically designed for her kids Hassan and Hamza. Coming from the elevator or stairs at first floor, the first thing you see is the powder bath, which is utilized by the guests.
Then comes the lounge which belongs to Hamza. The biggest Television screen among the others in house is inserted in Hamza’s lounge. Hamza’s bedroom consist of a table which is an old table of governor house and was gifted to Juggun’s husband. White board, guitars, paintings were also present in Hamza’s room. The guitars are not just decoration but they are actually played by him.
A sitting area is designed in between the floor.
Moving on to Hassan, Juggun reveled that he is a big fan of “Bob The Builder”, so the theme of his room is set according to it. A Philippine helper is hired for Hassan who have a separate bed in Hassan’s room. A beautifully painted cartoon wall enhance the beauty of Hassan’s room. A balcony is also designed with Hassan’s room.
A fully functional kitchen is also present at first floor but it is not in use. The store is filled with a lot of things. A guest room is also designed on this floor.
At the end we saw a balcony which was beautifully decorated with paintings and pictures all around.

Ye Olde Cake Shoppe is based in Model Town, Lahore. This home based business is famous for it’s cheesecakes which are not exactly cheap as the maker uses the best of ingredients. One slice of cheesecake costs about 900 PKR, but once you try it, you know it’s worth it. It tastes divine and something like The Cheesecake Factory. Apart from cheesecakes, Ye Olde Cake Shoppe is the first business to introduce stroopwafels filled with cheesecake.
A stroopwafel is a wafer cookie made from two thin layers of baked dough joined by a caramel filling. The cake maker also makes cakes, cupcakes and other desserts as per requests.

Cake Monster is situated in DHA, Lahore. The owner makes cakes, cupcakes and other desserts on requests for birthdays and formal events. Her cakes are not only beautiful to look at but come in many delicious flavors ranging from nutella, caramel crunch, chocolate fuge to many more.
Rubi’s Patissiere
Rubi’s Patissiere is a cake artist in the true sense. She uses molds by artist Dinara Kasko to create 3d cakes which look out of this world. They’re so beautiful, you almost want to leave them as they are and not cut them ever. Rubi’s Patissiere is located in Model Town and requires atleast 4 days notice with half payment in advance for orders.
Glazed by Hiba
Glazed by Hiba is another model town based baker who makes visually stunning cakes with divine flavours. Her glazed cakes have a shiny, glorious marble sheen to them decorated with fresh flowers. Apart from these magnificent cakes, she also bakes mini cakes, eclairs, cheesecakes, macarons and other assorted desserts.
The Teacake Company
The teacake company makes delicious cakes served with sauces to be devoured with a hot beverage. Their menu includes carrot cake, banana bread, chocolate cake, apple cake, fruit cake and walnut cake. The sauces include caramel sauce, apple and caramel sauce and cream cheese sauce. Cakes come in two sizes which are reasonably priced. You can order teacakes one day in advance for your tea time indulgence.

Manish Dayal (Faarooq)
Manish Dayal is an American actor who played the role of Faarooq in Holidate. He was born on 17 June, 1983 in an Indian Gujrati family. Manish started his career appearing in national commercials for McDonald’s, Windows, Nintendo, and Domino’s Pizza. In 2008, he played the lead in The New Group’s twice-extended off-Broadway show Rafta, Rafta. He is best known for his roles as Raj Kher in The CW hit teen series 90210, in the films The Hundred Foot Journey (2014) and Viceroy’s House (2017). Since 2018, he has featured as a main cast member of the Fox medical drama series The Resident. He got married to Snehal Patel in 2015.

Frances Louise Fisher who plays Elaine in Holidate, was born on 11 May 1952. She is a British-born American actress. Frances began her career in theatre and later starred as detective Deborah ‘Red’ Saxon in the ABC daytime soap opera The Edge of Night (1976–1981). She has portrayed strong women on film and TV since the early 1980s. In 2019, she starred in the Emmy Award–winning HBO television series Watchmen, an adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name. In 1970, when Fisher was 18, she married her high school sweetheart Billy Mack Hamilton. They divorced two years later. Fisher was in a relationship with fellow actor Clint Eastwood in the early to mid 1990s. During that time, the couple had a daughter, Francesca Eastwood.

King Bach, known for his role as Neil in Holidate is a Canadian-American internet personality, actor, and content creator who was the most followed user on the now-defunct video sharing service Vine with 11.3 million followers. He took the title of most-followed person on Vine in March 2015. Though best known for Vine, King Bach is also known for his YouTube channel, BachelorsPadTv. The channel and its videos have been covered by several online publications, including FSU News. He has one younger sister named Christina.

Julien Marlon Samani is an actor and writer, who plays the role of Luc in Holidate. He is known for Holidate (2020), Counterpart (2017) and Abby’s (2019).
The famous sisters Mawra Hocane and Urwa Hoccane are known for their acting and modeling skills. Urwa has also appeared on the big screen in Pakistan where as Mawra has made her debut in Bollywood “Sanam Teri Kasam”. Both of them have a great fan following due to their talent as well as great looks but lately the fans of both the sisters are quite disappointed due to their boldness.

The movie has a coming-of-age story, of three university friends and their lives. The three main leads are seen enjoying their university life, singing, dancing and sharing memorable moments with each other.

Ho Mann Jahan (ہو من جہاں) is an upcoming film currently being filmed in Karachi. Starring Mahira Khan, Sheharyar Munnawwar Siddiqi and Adeel Hussain in lead roles the film is also produced by Sheharyar Munnawar Siddiqi. Ho Mann Jahan is the working title of the film and is expected to be changed upon release of the film.
