Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan formally inaugurated the Kartarpur Corridor  on Saturday 9th November 2019. The corridor now connects the Dera Baba Nanak shrine in India’s Punjab with Darbar Sahib at Kartarpur, just 4 Km from the International Border, located at Narowal district of Pakistan’s Punjab province. An explosion in the parking lot of a private hotel on Zarghoon Road Serena Chowk in Quetta the capital of Balochistan province killed four people and several injured. According to police, a loud explosion took place in the parking lot of a local hotel on Zarghoon Road in Quetta, which was heard far away. The blast set fire to several vehicles parked in the hotel parking lot, killing four people and injuring 11.

Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhary has also posted a tweet informing that the initial investigations are in progress and he is in direct contact with the Federal Ministry of Interior, Government of Balochistan.

Similarly your country does not need your dance, fireworks and rallies but your devotion, caress and accountability. If you followed the news yesterday, you must be knowing that 40 citizens are badly injured in two back2back blasts, while 4 have died in the blasts over Agakhani Jamaat Khana, Karimabad. We really need to reframe our priorities so that we can come up with a better plan that would definitely make lives easier of Pakistanis.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8 every year. It commemorates the movement for women’s rights. March 8 was suggested by the 1910 International Socialist Woman’s Conference to become an “International Woman’s Day.” After women gained suffrage in Soviet Russia in 1917, March 8 became a national holiday there. The day was then predominantly celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted in 1975 by the United Nations.

Happy Pakistan Day to everyone out there from our side first. Like every Pakistan, our celebrities were also celebrating the day with zeal and patriotism. Veteran actress Naila Jaffery, who has been fighting cancer for six years has recently posted a video, in which she has appealed to the television channels to at least pay the royalties to the actors on reruns of the projects.

Later on, Yasir Hussain also raised his voice in her support and asked the channels to pay her what she deserves because it’s her right, not charity. After Yasir Hussain’s post, a person came forward to help her personally and was also connected directly to Naila Jaffery.

Right after the historic Pakistan vs New Zealand match, when the whole country was busy celebrating the triumph a strange incident took place on national television. Dr. Nauman Niaz who hosts a show on PTV Sports insulted Shoaib Akhtar on live television. Shoaib Akhtar rather than getting into any fight or argument on television resigned from PTV at the spot and walked away with dignity.

The incident enthralled the audience. People couldn’t understand the unethical behavior of Dr. Nauman Niaz. Muneeb Butt stated how the mafia’s in the country had been controlling the governance since the very start and that this country deserved a dictator more than ever.

The Lux Style Awards 2021 recently announced its nominations in the categories of music, fashion and television. While there was no Film category this year due to no releases last year attributing to the ongoing pandemic, the nominations for fashion, music and television were unveiled.

After Lux Style Awards announced its nominees, some of the celebrities stood forward and spoke their heart out and berated the Lux Style Awards for nominating television dramas on the basis of their popularity and high viewer ratings alone without considering the quality of the content itself. Sonya Hussyn taking to her Instagram account voices her disappointment.

“It is very disappointing to see that a project like Saraab did not bag even a single nomination at the Lux Style Awards 2021.” She added, “We talk about the need for meaningful content that also educates the masses with real issues but when [such content is] finally created they’re hardly ever recognised/nominated for awards. Aren’t those double standards?” Sonya lamented that the criteria for nominating drama serials seems to prioritise popularity over the delivery of meaningful content.

“I’ve been silent for seven years but really, were none of these dramas deserving? Not even a single project? Anyhow, in a country where veteran artists are given lifetime achievement awards after they’re gone, then who am I to question?”

Fellow actress Nausheen Shah also extended her support to Sonya for relevant stance.

Haidqa Kiani also stood forward and mentioned that drama serial “Raqeeb Se” hasn’t been nominated this year based on the LUX Style Award policy.

The multi-talented Yasra Rizvi also called out the organisers and jury of the LSA for choosing TRPs over quality content.

Pakistanis are currently in shock and sadness on the sudden demise of popular host and political activist Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain. Internet is pouring out with grieving and opinionated long tweets and comments on the death of popular host. Public is saying that in this world people have to die to show that they were good.

Celebrities and a large number of public is of the view that it is social media trolls and meme culture that has taken another life. Right after the announcement of Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s death, Pakistani media celebrities started to appear on social media with their opinion which says that social media trolls kill the people.

Mohsin Abbas Haider posted picture and said, “Congratulations, we killed him”. Zara Noor Abbas also said that it is the social media filth that is responsible. Farhan Saeed said that those who are blaming Dania should know that each one of the troller is responsible of his death. Mathira also said that he was fallen prey to revenge porn and died after such social media shame which was brought to him by Dania. Well, actor Bilal Qureshi also confessed his wrongdoing and said that he said bad to him but now he’s feeling sorry. He said that it’s after people’s death one realizes what he keeps for them.

So the most awaited night, IPPA Awards, happened last night at Oslo, Norway. Everyone looked stunningly gorgeous in beautifully designed outfits by famous fashion designers.

PSL 6 anthem was released a few days ago. “Groove Mera” is sung by Naseebo Laal, Aima Baig, and Young Stunners. It received a mixed public reaction. It was disliked by many at first, but after listening to it a few times, “Groove Mera” started sounding interesting. When the song was released many celebrities including Yasir Hussain, Gohar Rasheed, and many others came forward and appreciate the efforts of singers and composers. Former world-famous bowler Shoaib Akhtar recently took Instagram to “Review” HBL PSL 6 Anthem.

In his review, he criticized PCB for making such an absurd song and also used harsh words for artists as well. As a response, a few of our celebrities also came forward in support of their fellow artists.

Aurat March 2020 is finally happening in different cities of Pakistan with full success and support.

This year Aurat March demands the end of violence, labour rights, reproductive rights, environmental justice, wage equality, education equality, and equality for the transgender community.
