Ayesha Omar and Yasir Hussain are starring in a movie on Javed Iqbal, one of Pakistan’s most infamous serial killers, who admitted to killing over 100 young boys in Lahore in 1999. The film stars Yasir Hussain as the notorious murderer while actor Ayesha Omar will essay the role of a police officer, who will head the investigation on Iqbal. At least 74 passengers were killed and a number of others  injured when Tezgam Express caught fire near the city area of Liaquatpur on Thursday. Tezgam Express was on its way to Rawalpindi from Karachi and caught fire when a gas cylinder owned by passengers exploded.

Qandeel Baloch’s murder has been a very shocking and tragic incident which has proved that there is very little tolerance in the Pakistani society for people who view the world in a different way. Qandeel Baloch was very well known for her boldness. Even though many celebrities did not show their support for her when she was alive but they were very open in protesting against her murder. Social media is filled with statements from celebrities who are enraged after hearing this shocking news. The rate of honour killings is increasing with every passing year. Examples like these also give Pakistan a negative image in the international community. Celebrities feel threatened more than ever now because whenever a celebrity has asked for security from the government, the government has never given them the security they need and the end result is what happened to Qandeel today. Some people are even more shocked because an outsider did not kill Qandeel but it was her own brother who took her life. Qandeel Baloch has been trending on twitter, the world is talking about her because most people believe she was killed in cold blood. A lot of celebrities are holding the media responsible too.

Talha Talib is a Pakistani weightlifter and Olympian. He is the Pakistani national champion in the 62 kg category. He set a new record at the games in snatch as he lifted 132 kg in the third attempt with 127 kg and 130 kg in the first two attempts, respectively. He was also a gold medalist at the 2016 Commonwealth Youth Weightlifting Championships in Penang for lifting 258 kg. Talha Talib came fifth place in the heavy weight lifting in Olympics 2020 for which the government of Pakistan has also awarded him with the prize money.

Recently a group of fraudsters pretended as the personal staff of the federal minister and telephoned mountaineer Shahroz Kashif and Olympian Talha Talib, telling them the good news that the car had been gifted to them by the government. Fraudsters took Rs. 360,000 from Talha Talib in the name of car gift. While Shahroz Kashif’s father says that he was asked to deposit Rs. 285,000. Talha Talib’s father has lodged a complaint through the Prime Minister’s Citizen Portal while Shahroz Kashif’s father has contacted the FIA.

The news of fraud with Pakistani Olympian Talha Talib was shared on different Social Media portals. Pakistani celebrities felt disgusted after watching the national hero of Pakistan being a victim of such a fraud. Pakistani actor Aijaz Aslam, Zarnish Khan, Mathira, and fashion model Rizwan Jeffery have condemned the incident that happened with Talha Talib. Let’s have a look at celebrities’ reactions below.

Pakistan was going through a huge political turmoil with an alleged foreign conspiracy looming at large. All the eyes were on Pakistani institutions and the “vote of no confidence” that was to be held on 9th April to oust the now former Prime Minister of the country, Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi.

After a dramatic Saturday night where the higher courts of the country opened at midnight, helicopters in the air and secret letters being classified, the “vote of no confidence” is successful and Imran Khan is now out of the office. After a long wait, the final verdict on the panama case is out. A five-judge panel of Pakistan’s Supreme Court disqualified the thrice-elected Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from holding office over allegations of corruption against him and his family. The news didn’t come as a shock to many and the reaction to it was mostly welcomed by people on social media. Kangna Raunt is the most controversial Bollywood film star whose official Twitter account got permanently suspended after she posted a series of controversial tweets related to the post-election result violence in West Bengal. After getting her account suspended the actress said that she is not desperate for Twitter and there are other platforms where she can raise her voice.

The actress has now moved to Instagram to raise her voice and has recently posted a series of statements in the favor of the wrongdoing of Israel in Palestine. Muhammad Ahsan is popularly known as Golden Man of Islamabad. He is the first person to start something like this in Pakistan’s capital. He was given legal permission to work and perform in Islamabad by the then Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat who has now been transferred.

Ahsan was allegedly beaten and mistreated by the police when he went to file a complaint against another person trying to harass him at his workplace. He is heartbroken by the development and was crying. He announced that he will leave this work as talent is not respected in Pakistan.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is the international championship of Twenty20 International cricket. Organized by cricket’s governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), the tournament currently consists of 16 teams, comprising the top ten teams from the rankings at the given deadline and six other teams chosen through the T20 World Cup Qualifier. All matches are played as Twenty20 Internationals.

The ICC Men’s T20 world cup 2021’s semi-final was played between Pakistan and Australia today in Dubai. Pakistan scored 176/4 in 20 overs of the 1st innings. Australia won the match by scoring 177/5 in 19 overs, defeated Pakistan, and made it to the final of the T20 WorldCup.

After losing the match Pakistani celebrities have also shared their reactions on social media on Hassan Ali’s performance and losing the match.

Just a day before Eid, on chand Raat, tragedy struck our nation yet again. The unfortunate incident took place in Bahawalpur which killed more than 150 people when an oil tanker caught fire. The people had gathered to collect oil from the leaking tanker and according to witnesses, people smoking cigarettes in the vicinity is what ignited the inferno.

Aamir Liaquat has stated a few weeks ago that he is heartbroken and his caretaker has also said that he did not feel okay today. Churails has been banned for viewing in Pakistan which was released on Indian platform Zee5. The web series has been banned after a short clip went viral in which Hina Bayat is talking about her struggles to get a job. In the video, she said that she had to give two hand jobs to get a job and then getting promotion.

After this, Twitter was exploding with different opinions some were saying that it shows the reality of our society while others believed that it is a vulgar show and promotes obscenity.

Now the series has been removed and people are reacting to it. Pakistani celebrities are showing their anger on the banning culture while some celebrities believe that it was the right decision.

Director Asim Abbasi is highly disappointed as Churails is applauded internationally but in our own country, it has been banned.

2020 couldn’t get any worse first it was global pandemic and now Karachi rain. One of the biggest cities in the world is drowning due to continuous rain. Many people lost their homes, family members, and their properties.

The whole city is suffering and people are crying for help. People are helping each other in this difficult time.

The devastating moon spells caused great damage to entire Sindh especially Karachi. People are angry and devastated and they have taken to social media to raise their voice.

A 7-year-old Zainab lost her innocence and her life while her parents were in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. And all this happened in the same city again. The news has hit the nation and people are demanding justice for Zainab at least on social media. Celebrities are people whose voices are heard and many of our celebrities demanded justice for the little angel. From Hamza to Mahira Khan, everyone was shocked and they lent their voices to demand justice for Zainab:

Getting justice in Pakistan is a big no no. We have seen cases where people got their properties years after they had already passed. But if you ae a woman, getting justice gets even difficult when the man against you is powerful. We recently saw Noor Mukadam who was brutally killed and the man who killed her was caught on site but he is still alive. Now, we had Sara Haider whose perpetrator is still “going through” a trial. Same is the case for Syeda Aliza Sultan, drama and fi star Feroze Khan’s ex-wife. She recently got divorced and later on revealed that she has been facing domestic abuse at the hands of her husband throughout her marriage while her husband’s family enabled it.

As soon as she came out with the accusation, Feroze’s fans started attacking her and no one from the media industry took stand for her either. But evidence came to fore during a custody battle between Feroze and Aliza. Feroze has filed for custody and his lawyers alleged that Aliza was not a fit mother to which Aliza submitted evidence that she has been abused throughout her marriage. She had pictures of it as well as a medical certificate supporting her accusation. Aliza also had gone to the police in the past as during one of those episodes, Aliza’s son also got injured.

This is what pushed Mariyam Nafees in the first place to speak up for Syeda Aliza Sultan when she saw a report regarding this on Geo News Urdu. Later on more celebrities have finally come up and raised their voice for Aliza Sultan.

So, celebrities finally spoke up for Aliza Sultan after pictures of her brutalized appeared on media while Feroze Khan’s fans are still blaming Aliza and accusing her of lying!

Increasing crime in Pakistan is not hidden now as we are seeing heinous acts being committed in our surroundings everyday and the law enforcement agencies are busy in every other thing on earth except catching criminals and providing relief and safety tp the citizens. Another heart-wrenching crime occurred when Sheikh Danish a man from Faisalabad proposed a BDS student, also his own daughter’s friend for marriage. On rejecting him, he along with his daughter and his servants abducted the girl, tortured her, cut her hair and made her lick their shoes. Pakistanis are outraged as well as scared about what our country has descended into. The main culprit Sheikh Danish was let go on bail for only 50 thousand rupees. Like all citizens, our celebrities are also angry on the situation and raised their voices for the victim who has gone through an ordeal already and again the perpetrators are out of jail. As much as other parts of the world suffer from racism, Pakistan is suffering from it. Our desi people are obsessed with fairness creams, soaps and remedies to achieve lighter skin tone.

From childhood we teach our children that black is ugly and white is beautiful, we teach our kids to differentiate among people on the basis of their skin tone. That’s how our society is!

People look celebrities for the inspiration but who knew they play equal part in raising the point ‘white is beautiful and black is ugly’. The actors who once endorsed fairness creams are now chanting  ‘Black Lives Matter’. Isn’t it hypocrisy?

Some of the most prominent celebrities who were part of fairness creams advertisements include; Zara Noor Abbas, Fawad Khan, Ayeza Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Neelum Muneer, Aiman Khan, Sajal Aly, Fahad Mustafa, Syra Yousaf, Sanam Jung, Aima Baig, Sabika Imam and many others.

On one side these celebrities raise voice for black people and on another side, they promote colourism which shows their hypocrite personality.

The incidence of an innocent girl being raped and murdered has shook the entire nation. Even though it was the twelfth one in the series of such murders, Zainab Ansari has certainly struck a raw nerve. Also,it was followed closely by the murder of fifteen year old Faizan from Faisalabad and that proved to be the breaking point. Alongwith every Pakistani, our celebrities have also come out on the streets to demand justice for the her and measures to prevent such atrocities in the future.

Junii Syed has organized this march in front of Karachi press club and Hina Bayat, Shehzad Roy, Mahira Khan, Sanam Saeed, Sahir Lodhi And Ayesha Omer were among the most prominent protestors.

Mahira Khan spoke out loud about the injustice that led to this horrific incidence.

They did a press conference demanding action to be taken immediately.

Their play cards read sentences to end child abuse of all sorts in the society.

The United Producers Association took a stand against the airing of foreign content on television through their Twitter handle. We are all familiar with Pakistani channels airing Indian as well as Turkish dramas one after the other. Many artists have come out for supporting the cause. The actors including Faysal Qureshi, Adnan Siddiqui, Samina Ahmed and Ajaz Aslam protested outside the Supreme Court against airing foreign content.

Chief Justice Of Pakistan has taken notice and has asked the actors to file a request. Then they will get a hearing date and steps will be taken according to the court’s proceedings.

Wing Commander Nouman Akram embraced Shahadat after the F-16 jet crashed in Islamabad during the rehearsals of 23rd March 2020. 

Nouman could have used a parachute to save his life, but he chose to save his people. Being a part of the Pakistani Air force, it was his responsibility to save his country and its citizens, and that’s what he did. 

It takes a lot of courage and power to sacrifice one’s own life to save someone else. Nouman Akram is a real hero and pride for our country. May Allah give patience to his family and kids.

Nooh Dastagir Butt, a 24-year-old weightlifter from Gujranwala has made the nation proud as the athlete won the first gold medal at Common Wealth Games 2022. The visuals of Nooh winning and Pakistan’s flag rising as the anthem played in the background made the nation proud.

Nooh had promised his father that he would bring a gold home which he fulfilled after four years.
