Famous director Haseeb Hasan is known for directing plays such as Diyar-e-Dil and Mann Mayal is coming up with another project. His another film is made by collaborating with Umera Ahmed’s writing and Haseeb Hasan’s direction.

Much details about the upcoming film have not been disclosed yet. The star cast and the title will be revealed after a week.

HUM TV is producing a film Bin Roye Aansoo starring Humayun Saeed, Mahira Khan and Armeena Rana Khan. The film is based on the novel of Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Haissam Hussain. One spell of shooting of film is already completed in USA. But director Haissam Hussain is now no more working in this film.

As per one media report, Haissam left the set of the film during shooting in Karachi and refused to participate further. The reason for this not disclosed in the report. After withdrawal of Haissam the producer is now utilizing services of director Shahzad Kashmiri and Saife Hassan to complete the rest of the film.

The brilliant Pakistani director Ehteshamuddin has recently shared the last call details with ace Pakistani veteran actor Shakeel Yousaf who passed away on 29th June 2023. Shakeel Yousaf was 85 years old. Udaari famed director Ehteshamuddin revealed that actor Shakeel called him around a month ago.

Ehteshamuddin wrote, “Shakeel called me and asked about my health, he also informed that he’s feeling better and is thinking of doing a drama. Shakeel further said, ‘Anwar Maqsood is writing a script for me, we will talk about it once the script will be ready, I want you to direct my play’, to which I agreed as it was an honour for me”. Ehteshamuddin also wrote that Shakeel wanted his last play to be his most memorable performance.

According to the details shared by director Ehteshamuddin, Shakeel further added, “I know, I am an actor, I know how to perform, I know when audience claps in praise, I want my last performance to be memorable which stays forever”. Director Ehteshamuddin said, “his voice was full of passion but that time didn’t come as he passed away. We could not go to Anwar Maqsood Sahab and his character could not become memorable, his wish wasn’t fulfilled. May Allah bless him with higher ranks. Asad ul Haq is a big name in the advertising world of Pakistan. He has been a part of the industry for three decades now and he has created many great projects in his career. He was a guest on Frieha Altaf’s show FWHy and spoke about the evolution of this industry, his passion for his work and his son who was born with clinical deafness.

Asad ul Haq is father to three kids. He revealed his youngest son was born with hearing problems. At first, they did not realize it and thought he was just a very calm baby. They took him to Agha Khan hospital when he was 6 months old and that is when they got the diagnosis. He pointed out a very prevalent issue in our society of how insensitive doctors are with patients. The doctor came to a lobby filled with other patients and told them that their child will never be able to hear. He dismissively told them to learn sign language as there is no other way.

Asad ul Haq shared his son’s miraculous journey from there. They went to every doctor and medical facility they heard about at that time. They got their baby hearing aids and he was able to assimilate into life like any other child. He is now living alone in LA for higher studies and he never looked back.

It was earlier this month when actor cum host Hamza Ali Abbasi announced that he would be quitting acting to follow the greater cause of preaching Islam. Although Hamza did not denounce acting as a profession, he still maintained the thought that he wanted to use the medium only to spread the message of Islam and Allah further. Hamza also stated that since people had always associated media with glamour, he had taken the decision to quit the industry so that he would be taken seriously.

While many people lauded Hamza’s decision to quit acting at the peak of his career, there have been others who criticized the actor’s decision, stating it demeaned the whole profession of acting further. One such critic happens to be Deedan famed director Amin Iqbal.

Amin Iqbal in a recent video interview expressed his disappoinmnet on Hamza Ali Abbasi’s decision stating that it had demeaned the profession.

“The showbiz profession already receives resentment from the public, and people usually discourage their loved ones from joining the industry. In the given scenario, Hamza’s decision will only add fuel to the fire,” said Amin Iqbal.

Amin Iqbal added that when a banker or any other person left their profession they didn’t cite religion as the reason and as people already had resentment towards the field of showbiz and acting, Hamza’s decision has only added more fuel to a fire ignited already.

“Media industry is a celebration of art, and it should be respected,” Amin Iqbal said. However, the director did wish Hamza Ali Abbasi all the luck for his future endeavors.

Geo Entertainment’s drama serial ‘Aey Musht E Khak’ has been under discussion on social media for the past few days, a lot of questions are being raised about the characters and behaviors illustrated in it.

In one episode of the drama, the main character Mustejab (Feroz Khan) strangles his ex-girlfriend Shiza (Nimrah Khan) and grabs her by the throat and drags her on the sofa. This scene has sparked a debate over whether Pakistani drama is showing violence against women as a common thing in society.

A lot of people bashed the drama makers and said that such narratives are ruining the society and normalizing such behaviors in society by continuous imitation on the television.

Feroz Khan and Sana Javed are playing the lead roles in this drama. Feroze Khan has been portrayed as a perverted, stubborn, egoistic and non religious atheistic man who falls in love with Dua (Sana Javed) and marries her. In the play, Dua (Sana Javed) is playing the role of a religious and loving girl who is attached to religion and its teachings.

Netizens have scrutinized two scenes of the drama. In one scene the main lead Mustajab was criticized when he was shown un aware of the essence of the Holy Month of Ramadan. Secondly, fans lashed out at Feroze Khan’s violent scene with Nimra Khan.

Defending the story of the drama, the director Ahsun Talish said, “I am getting a great response to this drama but some people are not understanding the subject. This is the story of an infidel. In our society, parents give everything to their children but don’t clear their religious beliefs. They don’t teach them religion, then kids are influenced by their own paths.

When asked about the drama’s viral clip and story on social media, he said that he was not making violence against women a common place and that he had not done so intentionally.

He further said, ” I have read the script many times and it is not that we are normalizing the violence against women. Doesn’t a British man kill his wife in Europe, women there are also beaten”. ‘ This When asked, warning messages are put up in violent scenes abroad, he replied, “we do not give warnings, here people are very sensible”.

“If we reflect society, you say we normalize things, it is as normal as you drive a car to your office,” he said. This is also what happens in society. It is called ‘Manjan’ in common language, so take this drama as a story.

Dilwale a Bollywood film released on the 18th December 2015 has proved a blockbuster film on Pakistani box office by earning 20 crore. Before Dilwale, only three Bollywood films Dhoom3 (2013), PK (2014) and Bajrangi Bhaijan (2015) have earned more than 20 crore. Now Dilwale is the fourth most successful Bollywood film in Pakistan. It is also the most successful film of Shahrukh Khan in Pakistan surpassing Happy New Year (2014) which earned nearly 10 crore. Dilwale has proved successful in all big and small urban centres of Sindh and Punjab as well as the Federal Capital Islamabad.

It also achieved the 7th spot at all time grosser for any release in Pakistan.. Film was bought at whooping record price of 7+cr by Eveready Pictures and was considered a risky investment due to clash with Bajirao Mastani but film has done extremely well in the circuit not only recovering cost but ensuring profits for the distributors.

With 20cr of Dilwale Eveready Pictures have become first distribution house ever in Pakistan to deliver two 20cr films in one year i.e. Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Dilwale. Both films had released with clash hence it’s a massive success for Hum Films in the circuit..

Dilwale, a Bollywood film released on the 18th December 2015 is also proving very successful. Till date, it has earned in 19.25 crore within two weeks, and with the third week in progress it is expected to cross the figure of 20 crores on upcoming weekend, a landmark only four other Bollywood films has achieved.

Dilwale is also the most successful film of Shahrukh Khan in Pakistan surpassing the record of Happy New Year (2014). Dilwale’s business is slightly impacted by the release of the Urdu film Ho Mann Jahan on the 1st January 2016 as it is resulted in less number of shows. Still the film is registering favorable occupancy and is expected to continue its run for at least two more weeks. However it might not reach the all time Bollywood record in Pakistan of Dhoom3, which earned 25 crore in 2013.

On the orders of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif the Pakistani government has declared the ancestral house of Dilip Kumar in Peshawar as a national heritage. Prime minister has also ordered to acquire the property by buying it from its current owners (off course by spending tax payers amount from national treasury).

The house located at Qissa Khawani Bazar, Peshawar is in bad condition being used as a storage place by wholesalers. The government is planning to renovate the house after acquiring it, after which it will be inaugurated in a grand ceremony where Dilip Kumar will also be invited who actually lives in Mumbai, India.

Though a positive step, it is ironic that government is keenly following this case where the concerned artist has never ever worked for any Pakistani production. Especially when our governments has never shown any intention or interest in preserving heritage of legendary Pakistani artists like Mehdi Hassan, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Madam Noor Jehan and many others. Apart from artists there are many poets and writers who deserve same anticipation from government. Dilip Kumar is indeed a great artist born in Peshawar who opted to live and work in India after partition rather than his homeland, but those who opted to live and work in Pakistan and brought fame to our country should be the first priority for any such decision.

Now Dilip Kumar has released his auto biography and sent a special copy to our Prime minister Nawaz Sharif, which is a sign of strong bonding and warm relations between these two.

Today is 92nd birthday of Indian film artist Dilip Kumar. Dilip Kumar born as Yousuf Khan in Peshawar, British India in 1922. After partition of India in 1947, Dilip Kumar opted for India over his birthplace Peshawar which was now part of new state of Pakistan.

Indian films are extremely popular in Pakistan, and so does Indian film artists and Dilip Kumar is amongst one of the famous ones. Dilip Kumar’s ancestral home still stands in Peshawar though in a depleted state. Government of Pakistan also awarded Dilip Kumar, Nishane Imtiaz in 1997 which is also the highest civilian medal.

Last year Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif who is also a fan of Dilip Kumar declared the ancestral home in Peshawar as national heritage and announced the house will be bought by Government of Pakistan. As per press reports the current owner of this house is demanding nearly three crore rupees from government. But the plan was not executed thus saving funds collected from Pakistani tax payers hard earned income.

However today the cultural minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Amjad Afridi announced to pursue the plan and the ancestral home of Raaj Kapoor another Indian artist will also be bought on Pakistani tax payers money. The government has also imposed an act to preserve the old heritage sites.

So atleast here is one issue where we can see the unity of Federal government in Islamabad and provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who otherwise are opposing each other on roads and television screens for past four months. If KPK or Federal government is considering to waste tax payer’s money on there are many deserving names of local cinema like late Badar Munir who dedicated his whole life for Pashto cinema.
