The video features Sahir Lodhi and Saida Imtiaz dancing in the middle of the streets as a song close to the tune of Bollywood item songs plays. The duo is dancing with all their energies but in all honesty, the moves are not that impressive.
Apart from the video not being extraordinary, the song isn’t catchy either.
The movie is set to release on 23rd of March, 2017 and we can’t wait to find out how it is received by the audience.
Ayesha Omar recently gave an interview to Instep and talked about films, TV, music and her car accident.
She has an exciting year ahead of her. She has a film coming up as well a music based reality TV show.
“I’m in Lahore these days for the second last spell of shooting for my upcoming movie, Rehbra with Ahsan Khan. We have one more spell in Karachi before the movie is turned over to post production and amusingly enough, it’s set to be released nearly side by side with my other film, Yalghaar around October or so.
You can call it a journey of self discovery for my character in the film. Her name is Bubbly and she’s a middle class Punjabi girl who’s very happy go lucky and true to her name until tragedy befalls her and she has to evolve in order to overcome it.
It’s a fun character and a very new look for me. She dresses very differently from what my personal aesthetic is so I’m also quite excited about how the look will be received,” said Ayesha.
She even talked about the team of production and direction of the film:
“The producers of this film don’t belong to a movie background and this is their first foray into the business so it’s definitely a learning experience. My director, Amin Iqbal has extensive experience with dramas but it’s also his first film. He and his enterprising team of interns are quite creative and innovate a lot which is great and I’ve learnt a lot from them.”
After her films, she has a music based reality TV show coming up too.
When the discussion moved towards her health, she had to say:
“I’ve been walking around with a broken collar bone since my accident over a year ago you see. The doctor wanted to wait six months before operating to see if it would heal on its own but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case with me.
I need an operation to set the bone right and then obviously my movement will be restricted during the time I’m recuperating from the procedure. It’s been quite challenging managing with a broken bone. I was lucky that it wasn’t a weight bearing bone like my leg or my arm but obviously my ability to perform certain tasks is impaired. I can’t even lift a 1.5 litre water bottle with that arm but thank God I’ve managed to complete all my professional commitments,” said Ayesha.
“My character in Rehbra has a very new look. She dresses very differently from what my personal aesthetic is so I’m also quite excited about how the look will be received”, further shared Ayesha.
We hope and wish that our talented and gorgeous actress recovers soon and that all her future projects turn out to be a success.
Junaid Akram is a Pakistani Dubai-based comedian and social commentator who has a huge online following. He often posts videos about his political and social arguments and observations.
He has often expressed in many of his videos how Pakistanis lack the habit of reading hence it seems, Junaid has done something to change that.
He announced on his official facebook page that his followers can ask him to bring them books from Dubai which are not available in Pakistan to promote reading culture. He also said that he doesn’t want people paying him for them but he would like to give them as a gift.
We believe that this gesture by Junaid is not just heartwarming but can also be a move towards building a more intellectual society.
We hope that he gets positive responses and becomes a role model for others to follow.
Karachi You’re Killing me is a novel by Pakistani author, Saba Imtiaz. It was announced sometime back that Bollywood is making a movie based on it starring Sonakshi Sinha.
And now, finally, the trailer of the movie is out and Saba seems very happy with it.
Soon after the trailer was released, Saba took to Twitter to express her excitement and joy.
The movie is an adaption of the novel. You can watch the trailer here:
After the trailer was released online, Saba expressed her excitement on her twitter account:
“While the book – a coming-of-age story of a journalist named Ayesha Khan — is set in Karachi, Noor will be based in Mumbai and has the eponymous Noor Roy Chaudhary, a 20-something journalist, at its centre,” a close source to the movie, was quoted as saying, reports Mumbai Mirror.
“It’s a beautiful story that follows Noor as she navigates relationships, career, aspirations, life choices, infatuations and body image issues. Every girl will relate to her,” added the source.
However, Sonakshi denied that she will be playing Pakistani journalist. She previously said: “All I can say is that I am not playing a Pakistani journalist in the film. The film is based on a book, which is written by a Pakistani author. The story has been adapted into a Mumbai backdrop.”
Saba, herself confirmed that the movie is not exactly like the book but an adaptation of it.
The trailer seems fun and entertaining and we can’t wait to find out how well the movie does once it is released.
March the third month of the year 2017 has started. This month carries historical significance for Pakistan due to the historic occasion of 23rd March 1940 the day on which the Lahore Resolution or Pakistan Resolution was passed in Lahore. Pakistan was created in 1947 seven years after the Pakistan Resolution was passed. The first constitution of Pakistan was also implemented on 23rd March 1956 which declared Pakistan a Republic from a Dominion. Since 23rd March 1956, this day is named as the Republic Day and holds an official holiday status.
The weekend following the holiday of 23rd March provides a Window for extended cinema business and during the high time of our cinema, usually multiple films were lined up on the Republic Day Weekend.
This year however only one Urdu film is releasing in the month of March that too on the Republic Day i.e. Thursday 23rd March 2017.
Raasta (راستہ) Raasta (راستہ) is a film featuring Sahir Lodhi as director, producer, writer and main hero. It is the debut film of Sahir Lodhi in multiple aspects and made for a social cause. As per Sahir Lodhi all the profit of the film will be used to construct a hospital in Karachi for the unprivileged sections of the society. So apart from entertaining the public Sahir Lodhi is also doing social work.
Raasta has been delayed multiple times. Its first release date was May 2016 which later changed to November 2016 and then February 2017. Now finally the film is releasing on 23rd March 2017.
Model Abeer Rizvi also making debut is palying the female lead opposite Sahir Lodhi. Another Model Saima Azhar making her debut also has a special appearance in the film. Seasoned artist Aijaz Aslam is playing an important role of a Police Inspector in the film. Aijaz Aslam is returning to big screen where his last brief appearance was in Mein Hoon Shahid Afridi in 2013.
Naveed Raza also making his debut on big screen will be seen in a negative role. Mathira like her earlier two films Mein Hoon Shahid Afridi (2013) and Blind Love (2016) is again featuring in an item song. Sana Nawaz a well known name of our cinema is also part of this film.
The film is shot in Karachi, Sindh and coastal areas of Balochistan (Makran division).
The first trailer of Raasta was released in March 2016 while the new prolonged trailer is launched in December 2016. The music is launched in February 2017.
From its trailer Raasta appears to be a commercial masala action flick. The film has action, glamour, item song, romance, a rain song, some loud expressions and acting; nearly all the ingredients which define a commercial action film. Though such films are usually criticized by reviewers and serious audience, still no one can deny the fact that this kind of cinema has its own dedicated audience.
The strongest aspect of Raasta is its music composed by Saji ali and Kamran Akhtar. The camera work for the song Dil Faqeer also looks impressive, this song is shot in the coastal areas of Balochistan.
Like any routine commercial action flick Raasta also features a nearly 50 year old hero (48 year old Sahir Lodhi) in the role of an angry young man while the heroine is half the age of the hero. On top of this it also has some special appearances, action sequence, steamy songs and loudness whichare the essential ingredients of commercial cinema.

Who would’ve thought the young and beautiful Urwa Hocane could impress us so much in such a short span of time. After proving her mettle as an actress in Udaari, the leading Hocane sister has garnered much more attention than ever before. The actress who made her film debut with Na Maloom Afraad in 2014 received positive reviews and has many meaty projects in the pipeline.
She has now signed another big project and that is the sequel of her first film Na Maloom Afraad. Yes, you heard it right, Urwa Hocane and Fahad Mustafa are all set to create magic on our screens because Urwa’s publicist confirmed to Images that she has signed the project. This year is surely going to be a big one for the lady since she has signed four films including Humayun Saeed’s Punjab Nahi Jaungi, Jhol, Rangreza and Na Maloom Afraad’s sequel (tentatively titled Na Maloom Afraad 2).
Urwa is confident about the scripts of fer films. “I have only ever done projects that I have firmly believed in. It’s a coincidence and perhaps a blessing that four such brilliant scripts came to me around the same time and I am ecstatic that I got an opportunity to be associated with the best teams in the industry,” she said to Images.
When asked how is she juggling so many projects simultaneously, Urwa replied:
“I want my work to consume me fully. It does get tiring sometimes. But when you love your job, every new day brings with it a lot of excitement and hence energy.”
While the whole nation is talking about PSL and Imran Khan’s comment. There’s this wedding which has taken all our attention. It’s a wedding in Multan, which could be termed as one of the most unique weddings witnessed. From the groom’s unique wish to dowry, everything is worth making the news. The groom took his wish for Lion far when on the biggest day of his life, he decided to enter the shaadi function while sitting on a cage which carried the lion and he’s really happy doing that (honestly, i found this weird and overboard because why making an animal suffer just for the sake of your wish?).
Anyways, that’s not all because this big fat wedding is actually one of the most expensive weddings of Pakistan since the groom himself is wearing a gold festoon! Not believing us? See for yourself.
Pakistan is known for it’s hospitality and foreign players were warmly welcomed as they came to Lahore for PSL finals. We all know that, PTI’s chairman Imran Khan was against the decision of holding PSL final in Lahore and his concern was justified. However, Pakistan hosted the event brilliantly and the fool proof security managed to keep the whole country safe. PSL brought cricket back to Pakistan and the whole nation is overjoyed. But recently, Imran Khan made some really racist remarks towards the foreign players who played for PSL final in Lahore. His harsh comments regarding the players were totally uncalled for.
Video of Imran Khan’s press conference which has gone viral over social media shows him criticizing the foreign players who had arrived in Lahore to play the Pakistan Super League Final in the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday. The cricketer turned politician who is famous for his blunt comments has once again stirred controversy by referring the international players who played PSL final in Lahore as ‘phateechar’. Yes, he literally said that and the whole nation is shocked!
“I don’t know even the name of any of these so-called foreign players. It seems they were just picked up from anywhere like Africa,” he said.
Hum Tv will be re-telecasting their blockbuster drama ‘Diyar-e-Dil’. The drama which ruled the trp charts and was a masterpiece in itself is all set to hit our screens once again and we couldn’t be more happier. Consisting of a stellar cast, Diyar-e-Dil first aired in 2015 and completed 33 episodes. The fast paced drama was loved by the audiences for it’s gripping story line and top notch performances.
Diyar-e-Dil portrayed Pakistan from a realistic point of view. The story highlighted the honour and obedience one practises towards their parents as well as the importance of family. It will air on Hum Tv Starting from Tonight at 10:20 PM, every Monday to Thursday.
Shooting of Ali Zafar’s Pakistani film debut Teefa In Trouble is going on in full swing. And the leading man is so busy with the shooting that he almost missed the closing ceremony of country’s biggest event of the year PSL’s Final. However, he made it to the finals and rocked the stage.
On Sunday, the former British cricketer Alan Wilkins, was commenting on the PSL final. For those who don’t know, Alan is loved in Pakistan for his PSL commentary and funny Urdu. He couldn’t make it to PSL final in Lahore but managed to entertain his followers through his funny tweets and what more, rock-star Ali Zafar offered him to star in his film.
Khel you khoob jama…la la la la @AliZafarsays Mubarak ho Zalmi aur @JAfridi10 – seetiyan aur taliyan bajoooo….
A lot of people were divided over the fact that whether the final match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) should be held in Lahore, Pakistan.
While some debated over the growing terrorism here and how keeping the match in our city would be unsafe for locals as well as the foreign players and Pakistan’s international image, others deemed it necessary to hold it here to showcase resilience and to bring back international cricket in Pakistan.
As the debates and arguments continued, the day of the match finally arrived yesterday and it was held in Lahore only.
Fortunately, the match went by smoothly and everything came to an end peacefully. After everything was done successfully, Mira Sethi, the daughter of Najam Sethi posted a heartwarming status about the whole thing on her facebook account.
Najam Sethi is the chairman of PSL who fought till the end to have a successful final day of PSL at Lahore.
Mira Sethi perfectly penned down how it felt to be a Pakistani last night when the crowd expressed its happiness over the return of international cricket in Pakistan and cheered for it with all their heart.
Mira’s status also talks about the hardwork Najam Sethi had put in to the whole thing and she also beautifully expressed the sentiments of all proud Pakistanis.
We can’t help but admire the way Mira beautifully summed up the feelings of all Pakistanis in a single status.
The Supreme Court on Monday permitted Amir Liaquat to host Bol News TV show ‘Aisay Nahi Chalay Ga’ on the condition that the content which will be aired shouldn’t have any hate speech.
PEMRA had issued a notification calling for a ban on Amir Liaquat and his show on Jan 27 after it surfaced on the social media that he has put allegations of blasphemy during his show on civil society activists and bloggers who had disappeared
A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar, said a complete video of the episode and the content contained therein must be submitted to the office of the additional registrar (judicial). It warned that serious action would be taken in case any violations of the court order. All high court orders regarding the issue are now suspended.
The court issued the decision after a hearing on Pemra’s appeal against the Islamabad High Court (IHC) judgement last week which suspended the Pemra ban on the show.
Ohkay so, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was once again quite interesting & a treat to watch mostly because the main focus was on two polar opposite characters who are interacting with each other time & again. The direction of the drama so far has been great & so is the writing especially the way the characters have been etched out. Everything at this stage is falling into its right place, that is why despite not offering something entirely new, Yeh Raha Dil still seems refreshing & enjoyable!
So, Zaki’s mother continued to support him because she being a mother can not do without her son. Zaki’s father is practical but when it comes to Zaki’s mother, she is emotional, that is why despite understanding her husband’s concerns, she is a bit more worried about what her son wants. Zaki’s parents do understand that just because Zaki is their only child, they allowed him to get away with everything & now that is something that is bothering them a bit more because Zaki has gotten used to the idea of getting what he wants by hook or by crook. Zaki knows that no matter what happens, his parents will never go against his wishes, that is why despite being away from his home, he is still being taken care of, emotionally because of his mother & financially because of his father. Even though at this stage, Zaki might seem a little immature & childish that is because his mother is assisting him in this emotional blackmailing drama due to which he is unable to understand his father’s perspective.
Hayat continued to pester Zaki & Zaki was so not happy with her. Even though Hayat may pose to be a strong & confident individual, which she actually is, but right now, just because she is alone that too in a new place without any contact with Salman in Pakistan, she really wants to rely on Zaki. Hayat thinks she can cute her way into Zaki’s space & he will fall for all the sweet-talk that she directed at him but just because Zaki is so preoccupied with the havoc that he has created in his father’s life, he is really not in a right state of mind to form a friendship with Hayat. Though it was nice to see that just when Hayat really wanted his phone to contact Salman, after resisting for a while, Zaki decided to help her because he could see that she was desperate.
I must say that entire food-poisoning scenario was so realistic & relate-able like usually when your environment changes & you step out of your comfort zone, it becomes hard for your body to adjust to these changes & it was pretty realistic that just because Hayat must’ve eaten something which she wasn’t used to, she got sick. Once again, just when Zaki was trying to play the hero in front of his lady-love by telling that his drama was paying off, Hayat decided to rely on him because she herself was scared & wanted someone by her side. I liked how this episode was a lot more situational & momently, like these sort of episodes don’t give you much to talk about in the reviews because they solely rely on a lot of interaction & conversations between the characters & those can not be discussed or dissected but on the whole they allow you to have a great time while you’re tuned to them & that is why, all the conversations that happened between Hayat & Zaki were so interesting that I couldn’t stop smiling as I was having such a good time.
I enjoyed watching Nida in this episode too, like it was kind of sweet of her when she was trying to engage Zaki into a conversation asking him to share his feelings, thinking that he must be feeling homesick as she does understand that everything that Zaki is doing is because of her. Nida might be immature as well but at least when it comes to Zaki, she makes him happy & gives him the sort of attention that he wants. Her reaction when she felt that Zaki was with some girl was natural, she felt jealous, insecure & completely forgot that all the effort that Zaki was making was only because of her. Another sweet moment of this episode was when Zaki’s mother gets to know that Haroon sent Zaki a message asking him to contact her so that she can worry a little less for her son & later when she tells her husband what he means to her. I find Zaki’s parents interactions quite amusing, cute & very realistic, like they bicker one moment & the next they are trying to make each other understand what’s good for their son & what isn’t.
Overall, I had a great time watching this episode. I must say what I am loving about Yeh Raha Dil is how the characters have been elaborated like all of them seem so complete & have a personality of their own, which is a rarity in our dramas so it is something commendable. Yumna Zaidi definitely carried this episode on her shoulders & Ahmed Ali supported her perfectly because he was equally as good as her. I loved how effortless & flawless Hayat & Zaki’s interactions were, like the entire feel where Hayat was trying to be clingy while Zaki was trying to get rid of her was prevalent in all of their scenes, Yumna & Ahmed have really taken care of the mood of the scenarios through their acting & expressions & that is why it is turning out to be such an enjoyable drama. I can’t wait for the next episode already. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil & yes, my apologies for a short & hurried review, just not too well & finding it hard to stay awake. ;)
The sounds of Kolachi along with Ali Gul Pir went to the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar recently to give a symbolic reply of peace and tolerance to the extremists and terrorists after the suicide bombing attack there.
The Express Tribune got into touch with Ahsan Bari, the Music Director at Sounds of Kolachi who had to say:
“Such is the magic of Lal’s teachings that every singer in the country has to sing Dama Dam Mast Qalandar during a concert to captivate the audience.”
Last week, two dahamaals took place at Lal’s shrine. One was the usual one by the locals and the visitors and one by Bari’s band.
“I visited Qalandar’s shrine a year ago and was actually overpowered by the aura I experienced there. I could only wonder that if Lal has this much power today then what would have been the scenario when he was alive and met the people in person,” expressed the musician.
When asked about the reason behind terrorists attacking this peaceful place, he had to say:
“There has always been a dispute between different schools of thought as to what is the right way of connecting with God. These saints attract people to their shrines through their teachings and the mesmerising culture of Urs and that is what the terrorists don’t like.”
Gul Muhammad has been playing Sarangi for 13 years added something profound and spiritual:
“There are two ragas in music – Behro and Mand – which if played can telltale the lives of Sufi saints and even the battle of Karbala.”
The urs of Lal that is his death anniversary is in Shaban which is just round the corner and we hope it passes peacefully and all kinds of groups showcase harmony.
Abid Brohi, the rapper from Sibbi who collaborated with SomeWhatSuper with the Sibbi Song through the platform of Patari made his voice and presence heard and felt.
The song took the social media by a storm. It was part of Tabeer, a project by Patari which aimed to feature those voices of Pakistan which would never find big platforms. It featured office boys and people from rural and working class backgrounds.
Instep got into touch with Abid Brohi and Talha Dar and Feroze Faisal from SomeWhatSuper related to his newfound fame and success.
Brohi had to say:
“People used to laugh at me, everyone would just tell me to give up; ‘this will not take you anywhere in life’ they said to me.”
Whatever he was earning wasn’t enough for him to travel far in order to meet musicians who would appreciate his talent. He talked about the kind of jobs he was doing:
“I was working in a cloth store for Rs.100 a day. I then shifted to Quetta and got a better paying job that gave me Rs.6000 per month.”
He even tried his best to reach Lahore and he did when a Pakistani established musician invited him. However, when he reached Lahore, the musician was unavailable on his cellphone and later, Brohi found out that the musician wasn’t even in the country. Brohi expressed:
“I was so heartbroken that day. I came all the way to Lahore facing so many difficulties. I had really high hopes.”
Later, a documentary filmmaker met him at Sibbi’s annual mela.
“Raza (Shah) met Brohi and heard him sing. He then recorded his vocals and sent them over to us, and we started working on the song,” shared Dar with instep.
“I kept pestering SomeWhatSuper for a whole year then,” said Brohi.
And, after a year, he received a phone call to come to Karachi.
“I was prepared this time. I asked for the contact details of at least five, six other people. Someone or the other had to answer my call!”
And hence, the Sibbi song came into being.
“One day my brother came running to tell me I’m on TV. And there I saw myself. I couldn’t believe it. I started shivering and crying out of happiness. My dream had finally come true.I couldn’t even eat for a whole week because I was so happy!”
This response by Brohi is rather heartwarming and amazing.
All three of them now have corporates lined behind them wanting to work with them. SomeWhatSuper is currently working on a film’s soundtrack while Brohi has a big corporate project to look forward to.
“My friends now call me ‘kadday’ jokingly from the song’s line ‘Kadday milda se’ meaning when will we meet again?” concluded Brohi.

Mawra Hocane’s love for Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is no secret. The Pakistani actor who made her Bollywood debut with Sanam Teri Kasam was over the moon when she got a big shout out from the man himself.
However, Last night was one of the most memorable nights for every Pakistani as they were rejoicing and celebrating the night of PSL final. Many of them took to social media to support their teams and share their excitement.

Pakistani star Meera is yet again making headlines. According to rumours doing rounds, Meera was barred from entering Gaddafi Stadium since she wasn’t carrying tickets for the event. However, she has finally responded to rumours that claimed she was stopped from attending last night’s PSL final in Lahore and had to settle for watching the match at home as she was denied entry after all her efforts!
According to Meera, she was stopped by the police from entering the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday. “I had not purchased the tickets myself, yes, because I had just returned from Dubai and wasn’t feeling well. In fact, I spent the day getting a body massage to feel better,” she told The Express Tribune. “But I came to the stadium because my sponsors wanted me to and for the sake of my fans who were waiting there for me. My sponsors had arranged V-VIP tickets but they were inside Gaddafi stadium and I was outside.”
Meera continued, “The issue was that the tickets were with the financiers. When I got to the stadium, the police officials present stopped me and asked me to show them my tickets. Thankfully, my sponsors came out and took me inside with them. I watched the match live from the V-VIP lounge.”
Since a decade or so, there have been very few Pakistani films that did well at the box office. The industry has surely come a long way from typical Gundasa films to more revived arena of cinema. However, despite of less number of films and low collections, there was one actor who was always considered a star. You guessed it right, Shaan Shahid! He was always praised for his performances, because he had it all, from charismatic personality to amazing acting skills.
Son of a veteran directer Riaz Shahid, Shaan has appeared in uncountable films. He is set to complete 27 years in Pakistani cinema and has done supremely well for himself. Although Shaan did many traditional Punjabi films, he is best known for his great acting and diversity of roles. As he continues to conquer Pakistani cinema; here’s a look at 7 films which define this long and absolutely amazing career of Shaan.
1) Bulandi (1990)
Shaan started his film career in 1990 with Bulandi opposite Reema Khan. Scripted by ace writer Syed Noor and directed by Javed Fazil, Bulandi introduced Shaan as a young romantic guy next door. 2) Ghungat (1996)
Released in 1996, Ghungat marked Shaan’s comeback in Lahore film industry. Early on his career, Shaan exterminated with his roles and played the role of a negative character in Ghunghat. The film’s amazing plot with an outstanding direction changed the perspective of local cinema and became the light of hope which glowed the cinema after all those years of struggle. Consisting of a stellar cast, Khuda Ke Liye will always mark one of the best performances served by Shaan in his long yet inspiring career. The film subsequently won a number of notable awards in Pakistan.
7) Waar (2013)
The action thriller film directed by Bilal Lashari, was such an incredible pen that it triggered the inner patriot in us. Highlighting the current terror situation of Pakistan with Shaan’s breathtaking performance as a Major, Waar is and will be one of the best films produced by our local cinema. It showed the efforts of Pakistani security forces in their fight against terrorism and depicted things which we all needed to see. The film was a massive success and Shaan was praised for every bits of his performance. The film minted a total of 13 awards at ARY film awards including Shaan as the best actor.

Initially, Nigar Awards were the only awards that gave recognition to the Pakistani film industry. Now, after 12 years, the prestigious awards were all set to make a comeback on March 16. However, the 47th Nigar Awards have been postponed. Ever since the organizers announced the comeback of the award ceremony, Nigar is making news for all the wrong reasons.
First, there was a controversy surrounding the nominations and later another controversy emerged related to the contract issues. Considering these events and in a bid to avoid further issues, the award ceremony has been pushed ahead. Earlier scheduled to take place on March 16, the event will now be rescheduled at a later date (late March or early April).
“Due to unforeseen circumstances and the damage caused because of some rumours against us, we’ve decided to delay it for a few days,” a source close to Nigar Awards told Instep. “It won’t be a good idea to go on with the proceedings amidst so many issues that have been coming our way. Our sponsors and media partners have gotten a bit shaky after what has happened. So it’s better to continue once everything settles down. We’re working on it and the ceremony will be much bigger and better this time.”
Speaking about the nominations, the source informed that people couldn’t grasp their system of nominations that they’ve been following for years. The nominations announced initially were entirely based on public poll. The final list will come out on the basis of what the jury decides. Till then, we need to wait for an official announcement.
Imran Abbas has been associated with entertainment industry since more than a decade and his effortless acting and versatility is something we all adore. He creates magic onscreen and is not only recognized in Pakistan but in Bollywood too. For those who don’t know, Imran Abbas made his Bollywood debut with Creature 3d opposite Bipasha Basu. The film didn’t did well at the box office but worked in favour of the chocolate boy as he managed to earn good fan following across the borders and went on to do a cameo in Kjo’s film as well.
We all love our favourite celebrities and it’s always a treat to see them doing something else apart from acting. And Imran Abbas is sharing some beautiful memories with his fans. He shared a throwback video from an Indian comedy show, and he sure made us giggle as he flirted with the dadi. Well oh yes, he sang too.
Ayesha Omar is a beautiful and talented actress and host. Ayesha’s style statement has often been talked about and we are always in love with her outfits and looks.
Although she can pull off any sort of look, be it casual or formal but today, we bring you 5 of her wedding looks which we instantly fell in love with.
When she wore an olive green saari at a wedding and looked simply elegant.
Chandni and Sammi’s track was the highlight of this latest episode. Aalyan’s (Bilal Khan) connection with Salaar (Ahmed Raza Mir) and the developments in Naheed’s track have broaden the scope of the story. Rashid’s mother’s latest discovery will also make this particular track even more complex. All the sub-plots in the story are interconnected and cover a great deal; it is not easy to write such a narrative and it must have been a daunting task for the director to do justice to all these tracks. So far, all the tracks are getting plenty of screen time and I must say that Sammi’s track in particular has my undivided attention especially after last week’s episode. Chandni’s character is beautifully etched-out and Sania Saeed has done complete justice to it. She is tough on the outside only; she is practical but also caring at the same time. She is seen complaining every now and then but she has taken responsibility for Sammi. Chandni made it very clear right at the outset that she was not going to ‘baby sit’ Sammi and in this episode as well she let Sammi pay for her own clothes. She taught her what she needed to know in order to earn money and she keeps on giving her sound advices which will help her grow into a strong individual but she is making sure that Sammi does not expect more from her. Chandni and Sammi’s track is balanced and has been written intelligently. Had Chandni gone out of her way to help Sammi then Sammi wouldn’t have the opportunity to grow and it might have been difficult to relate to. Mawra Hocane is well-suited for this character; she has been convincing as the naive girl who still thinks she might get to go home some day and also someone who has no identity of her own.
Naheed’s relationship with her nephew and Aalyan’s connection with Salaar was also an interesting part of this episode. Naheed asked Ghulam Rasool to marry her but the preview of the next episode suggested that her brother will reject this proposal. Nadia Afghan is another actress who always gives a solid performance. This was the first time that I watched Bilal Khan in a play and he did quite well in that one scene. Ahmed Raza Mir also gave a very steady performance in this episode especially for a newbie. It is always great watching new actors on screen who manage to do so well and make you look forward to more.
Rashid’s secret is out and I am waiting to find out how Chaudhry’s wife will cover up her tracks now. Seemi Raheel completely owns her role right from the beginning but sometimes she gets a little more screen time than is necessary. The scene in which Sammi cried and later on shared why she was crying was so meaningful. Even after everything that happened to her, she has not been able to hate her brother for it. She still thinks of him as the brother who she grew up with and who she thought loved her. Sammi’s parents on the other hand have not only forsaken her but now also blame her for not ‘protecting’ her brother.
This episode had some very important developments to its credit which laid down the foundation for what is coming ahead. Chaudhry was completely absent from tonight’s episode but the preview of the next episode suggested that he will be back with a big bang! Right now I am more interested in Sammi, Chandni, Salaar and Aalyan’s connection than anything else.
How many of you watched this latest episode? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it.
