Earlier, it was reported that former Pakistani cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq had suffered a heart attack and had to be rushed for surgery. Recently, Inzamam-ul-Haq clarified that he did not suffer a heart attack, as had been widely reported across the media a day earlier.
Inzamam, in a video message, thanked all the people across the world who had prayed for him โ fans, former and current cricketers, and commentators. “It felt very nice being remembered, so I wanted to thank everyone,” he said.
The former batsman said that he did not suffer a heart attack; he had gone to the doctor for a routine checkup. “They recommended an angioplasty and during the procedure, they said my artery is blocked and a stent is needed,” he explained. Inzamam said he gave his go-ahead, and then a procedure was done which was a success and he is alright now. He said he stayed at the hospital for 12 hours and is now home.
The batsman urged everyone to immediately go to the doctor whenever they suspect anything wrong with their health. “The doctors told me that had I delayed going in, I could have suffered damage,” he said.

This was yet another emotional, unpredictable and enticing episode of Parizaad. In these 10 weeks, so much has been revealed about the main lead in particular yet every time there is an element of surprise. His primary nature has stayed the same right from the start yet he keeps the viewers wondering about his next move. This element of surprise coupled with the perfect execution makes Parizaadโs journey one of a kind. There have been so many times when different situations suggested that Parizaad might choose financial gains over integrity but every time he passes the test with flying colors! Parizaad is learning how the world operates and every other week he has a different dream. โDil ke kamray mei ek khawab takmeel ke darwazay se undr ata hei tu dusra khirki se bahar chala jata heiโwas such an apt dialogue that summed up not just this main leadโs journey but perhaps everyoneโs life in general. This was another valuable lesson learned by Pari but clearly, thereโs so much life and the people he will come across are going to teach him. He continues to be a hero with a heart of gold who takes everything at face value even after going through so many different experiences.
Apart from a solid script and some exceptional performances (Ahmed Ali Akbar being the undefeated star of the show), Parizaad is also a visual treat. The cinematography has been impressive throughout but it was especially outstanding in this particular episode. The camera work has been remarkable; some of the scenes were ideal for the big screen in this episode. The director has breathed life into the script by keeping the essence of every scene alive.
Interesting Journey
Tonightโs episode revealed a great deal about Lailaโs character as well. She is an intelligent woman who figured out rather quickly that Parizaad was a caring young man who would be willing to help her out if she makes him feel as if he is doing someone in need a favor. She started her story (which sounded made up) with presenting herself as a victim and Parizaad fell for it instantly. She was also wise enough to make a โconnectionโ between herself and her โbodyguardโ by telling him that they were more or less the same. This was the perfect example of someone exploiting Parizaadโs kindness and sensitivity. Although these two personality traits have been the biggest strength of this character but this time around they turned into a weakness when he decided to help Laila out without questioning her story. More than once, Pari has done what he felt was the right thing to do without thinking about the consequences. This time around too, he did just that. As he said, he has always followed his heart although his heart has led him in the wrong direction more than once! However, Parizaadโs gullibility did not come as a surprise because he has often believed everyone he has met so far. Also, most of the people except for Bubbly were quite honest with him as well about their identities and their true intentions.
In the previous two episodes, Parizaad was bent on earning money that was the sole purpose of his life. Even this episode opened with Parizaad recalling Lubnaโs motherโs words suggesting that he still woke up with the same purpose in mind. However, Parizaad continues to be someone who would not think twice before helping someone he loves in need or even someone he has just met. He is willing to work hard to get rich but he is not going to compromise on his principles or change who he is as a person to earn money. The way he gave all the money he had to help Janu out went to show yet again that Parizaad was just as good a friend as he was before earning money wasnโt his primary focus. Also, it is amusing how some of the conversations stay with him and leave a lasting impression. Lailaโs words perhaps altered his perspective towards life. It was endearing and heart-warming watching Pari help his friend get the love of his life even though he himself hadnโt been lucky in love. Parizaad has met so many people who have loved and respected him for the person he is and have not paid attention to his outward appearance. Yet, it seems as if this validation is not enough for him. The writer of this drama has also made the viewers fall in love with the most unusual hero hence proving that looks are completely secondary!
Behroze definitely picked up on what Laila might be up to since it seems as if there is a good reason why he does not trust her. He warned Parizaad politely the first time they were late and the preview of the upcoming episode suggested that he will give him another chance to tell him the truth. Even though Behroze has a few scenes in every episode yet he makes his presence felt every time. Parizaadโs bhabhis were yet again shown doing what they do the best! It was good to see Saeeda in this episode happily married and defending her brother. However, it would have been even better if there was an actual conversation between Pari and Saeeda in this episode. Naheedโs motherโs scene showed that Naheed was under pressure to have a son. Having a daughter might impact her marriage and she will perhaps eventually be shown regretting her decision.
Final Remarks
Ahmed Ali Akbar has truly outdone himself by translating even the minutest details of his character impeccably on screen. Parizaadโs awkwardness when someone appreciates his kindness and the smirk on his face when he is happy makes his acting truly commendable. Apart from everything else, he has captured the essence of Parizaad being a complete misfit socially because of the way he expresses himself. This drama wouldnโt have been the same had he not been playing the lead. Hashim Nadeem deserves credit for penning down the most meaningful dialogues; these dialogues are definitely the best part of the script other than the characterizations. This drama has definitely set the bar high by being a commercial hit without relying on done-to-death scenarios. I was not too sure if Urwa Hocane was the right choice for this role but after watching this episode I am really impressed with her performance. She did not give anything away; it was impossible to gauge what Lailaโs true intentions were. The preview of the next episode was enticing, to say the least! I canโt wait to tune into Parizaad next week.

Atiqa Odho while sharing her experience from the set of ‘Dasht’, mentioned that “I met Noman Ijaz on set of Dasht for the very first time. Noman and I always had a fantastic friendship. Noman introduced me to Rabia when they were getting married that Atiqa is a very close friend of mine. We share a strong friendship bond. My children are also very close to Noman, they have grown in front of him. I have seen Noman going through ups and downs, so we are very close to each other.”

Former Pakistan batting great and ex-chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq underwent an angioplasty surgery on Monday evening after he suffered a heart attack in Lahore, his manager revealed. According to the sources a stent has been successfully placed in Inzamam’s heart.
Inzamam’s condition is declared stable, however, doctors have placed him under observation at a private hospital in Lahore.

Tonightโs episode of Aakhir Kab Tak changed the course of all the main tracks. This was another episode with meaningful conversations but there were also some scenes that could have been chopped down. The misunderstanding between Fajar and Saim was thankfully not prolonged. Saimโs character however came across as highly confused and gullible in this particular episode. Even though this particular development in Saim and Fajarโs track was clichรฉd, after watching this episode I felt as if it did have a message. Noor finally accepted Nasir with all his flaws and also vowed to help him in becoming a better person. Fajar also mustered up the courage to share her true feelings with her husband.
Adeel Hussein is brilliant as Nasir even though this could easily have been an extremely annoying character! His antics are always amusing just like the daadi who isnโt the least bit likable but always fun to watch on screen! There is still room for character development which makes Aakhir Kab Tak a drama that keeps me engaged even after 20 weeks. All the actors involved have performed exceptionally well, except for Haroon Shahid. I feel he isnโt just stuck playing similar roles repeatedly but he also tends to underplay his characters every time. Apart from that, his performances lack variation. His characters are most often extremely likable and โharmlessโ therefore he gets away with giving such performances. I absolutely love Saimโs character even after he fell for those lies but the performance could have been far more impactful. It is truly refreshing watching a drama that covers so many different womenโs journeys and which shows how women can help each other grow. There are negative female characters as well but they are not being given as much screen time as the characters which are flawed yet trying their best.
Noor and Nasir
Tonightโs episode opened with Nasir โrescuingโ Noor and winning her over. Even though this was the first romantic scene between these two, it was more than just that. Everything Noor said about how hard women have to fight to earn respect and acceptance from men who work under them, resonated with me. This is definitely not the case in every work environment but most often women do not get the kind of instant approval that men get. I am impressed with the writerโs keen observation and the way he has picked up even the most minor difficulties women face solely because of their gender and highlighted them through different characters. From a housewife such as Safia who was not accepted as a member of the family, she was married into to Noor who could not get the acceptance she truly deserved; each one of these women represents different struggles which women fight on daily basis. They are intelligent and strong women who have survived everything and most importantly they learned to be each other’s support through their experiences.
After this latest incident, Noor started trusting Nasir more than she did before. She is now sure that even with all his flaws, he will always be by her side. It wonโt be wrong to say that the way this character has been written and executed; the viewers feel the same way about Nasir. This was a major breakthrough for Nasir who had given up hope. Noor and Nasir complement each other, if Nasir is helping Noor learn the ways of the world, Noor will help him become a better person. Ushna Shah and Adeel Hussein look great together. I would love to see them working together in another project.
Nasir showed that he was completely capable of reasoning out with someone as well when he talked to Saim. Even though he forced that conversation on him, it turned out to be a fruitful one. The fact that there wasnโt an instant change in Nasir made this entire scenario more realistic.
Fajar and Saim
Nilofer continues to be the typical sazishi, insecure mother-in-law who is now resorting to the cheapest tactics in order to pressurize Saim into giving Fajar a divorce. Even though Saim was confused since he fell for some of the lies, the reply he gave the rishta auntie said a great deal about his actual thoughts and feelings for Fajar. I felt that through this track the writer showed that communication is the key. The main reason why Saim doubted Fajar was because they were no longer communicating like before. Once he decided to sit down to chat with her, he was sure that Fajar was not lying. This was another major breakthrough because for the first time Fajar expressed herself freely in front of Saim, it was definitely a big step forward for someone like her.
Fajarโs character has been penned down beautifully. She represents all those young girls who are not given a chance to express themselves. Her track shows how this lack of expression and unnecessary limitations affect not just a personโs personality but also their relationships. Fajar is still hiding a major tragedy of her life from Saim. I just hope that it is tackled in such a manner that it does not create more problems for Fajar. Srha Asghar has portrayed this character faultlessly on screen right from the get-go. She continues to impress as we witness gradual transitions in the character.
Final Remarks

Ohkay so, this episode of Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay was tragic & heart-breaking. I must say the director deserves full credit for weaving the scenarios in such a manner that actually would’ve kept people guessing what really happened – if the novel readers hadn’t given away the spoiler alerts. Although it was already known that Mashal was not going survive, but how it actually happened was the detail that I actually could see being kept a secret by the director. Those who have not read the novel or have come across any spoiler alerts must be feeling intrigued trying to figure out whether Mashal chose to end her life or it was Mehreen who took it away from her.
The Tragedy
This entire episode beautifully showed how each & every one of them contributed to the tragic ending met by Mashal. Shagufta has also played her part, but it is unfortunate that she will never come to a realization of how undue comparisons put so much burden on Mashal. Having said that, I still felt a lot when I saw Shagufta breaking down because no matter how many mistakes a parent makes, no one ever wants to see their child succumbing to pressures in such an irreversible manner.
I am glad they actually showed both Saleha & Aswad feeling guilty too, because no matter what Saleha says or how she tries to reason, she too played her part in what happened. Aswad felt miserable & he definitely should because he of the way he played with her feelings & expected her to put up with the heartbreak & humiliation. The last conversation Aswad had with Mashal is always going to weigh heavy on his heart because he won’t be able to forget the harsh words he exchanged with her just when she was at the brink of losing her life. In this episode, they also gave a clarity about the day when Aswad heard the things Mashal & Shagufta said about Saleha & Aswad’s relationship. It does put things into perspective as to what was the deciding factor that made Aswad change his mind. After that incident, he knew exactly why Saleha was not in the favor of his & Mashal’s marriage, but it still doesn’t absolve him of how unfairly he treated her. Mashal definitely deserved to know the truth & not left in the limbo!
I liked how Mehreen & Nani’s relationship was shown in this episode. Although Nani was never fond of Mehreen, it never stopped Mehreen from being considerate towards her. Yes, Mehreen did resort to a harsh tone at times but she still cared for Nani. The only person who was made to face the brunt of it all sadly happens to be the victim herself. Mehreen has not had an easy life with all these people adding more to her problems, the bitterness that she has is also a result of the treatment she has received but yes, to blame her for murdering Mashal once again shows how everyone in the family holds such a low opinion of Mehreen. Everyone in this family has never once thought of being easy on Mehreen, forgiving her for the things she was made to bear the brunt of. Now with this tragedy, she is once again held accountable as if she is the only one responsible for all the problems in their lives.
Brilliant Performances
This episode of Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay was given a slow treatment, but I definitely find it justified because it showed how grave this incident was & how it was now going to affect their lives. I also very much appreciate the pace of the drama & I am glad they are moving things forward quickly. Zainab Qayyum was the star of this episode because despite having limited scenes, she showed how heart wrenching it was for a mother to deal with the loss of her only child. Khalid Malik is a great addition to the drama & I thoroughly enjoyed his performance as a police officer as well. It was as if this character was made only for him & he delivered. Mahira Khan’s acting in the prison cell was simply brilliant. Usman Mukhtar also showcased Aswad’s guilt, his sorrow & grief convincingly. I loved the flashback of Shabo, Mehreen & Mehreen’s childhood. They have lived their entire life together & as miserable as their present was, it’s not going to change that they were once young girls with smiles on their faces & dreams in their eyes. I am not sure how many times we’ll get to see Kubra Khan in the remaining episodes since her character is officially out of the story, but her performance has been power-packed too.
