When actors sign a project sometimes they do not really know their co-stars. They could be coming together for a commercial, photoshoot, drama, or a film together for the first time. Whether these actors end up forming the kind of working relationship which makes them comfortable or not is a big question mark. Obviously most actors are diplomatic and they do not share in interviews with who they did not like working. There are other actors who sometimes drop hints in an interview which clearly reflect their experiences. It would be safe to say that these hints are a clear indication that these actors will not be seen working together again.
Interestingly enough, some of these actors have worked together in projects which were mega hits. The viewers couldn’t even have imagined that they did not like working together at all.
Here is a list of those Pakistani actors who did not like working together.
Syra Yusef and Fawad Khan
Most of the celebrities would love to work with Fawad Khan but when Syra Yusef got such an opportunity she did not enjoy it much! When she was asked a question as to why she gave 4 out of 10 while rating him, her reply pretty much summed up that working with him was not a pleasant experience. She did not go into the details and Fawad Khan is obviously someone who hardly ever gives interviews so we don’t know his side of the story. Syra’s quick answer however showed that she did not like working with the superstar!
Hania Aamir and Ahad Raza Mir
Hania Aamir shared screen space in the film Parwaz Hei Junoon. Anyone who watched their interviews together during Parwaz Hei Junoon promotions probably guessed that they are poles apart. It was also obvious that Ahad Raza Mir was not too comfortable around his co-star Hania. When in an interview Hania was asked who her least favorite co-star was, she did not take Ahad’s name but only told the first letter of his name. Since Ahad Raza Mir is the only actor starting with the alphabet A with whom she had worked recently, it was obvious that she was talking about Ahad Raza Mir. Since she worked with Armeena Rana Khan a long time back, it is highly unlikely that she was talking about her.
Here is another interview in which Hania Aamir and Ahad Raza Mir along with Hamza Ali Abbasi were giving many of those interviews which were meant to promote their film Parwaz Hei Junoon. It is obvious that Ahad was trying to avoid Hania Aamir even though her reactions were difficult to ignore! It can be safely said that these two actors will not be seen on-screen together again.
Humaima Malick and Mahira Khan
Humaima Malick and Mahira Khan worked together in the film Bol and they are also part of the upcoming film The Legend of Maula Jatt even though Mahira Khan outright said in an interview that if she had a choice to work with either Humaima or Mawra, she will choose Mawra. It is apparent that when someone as diplomatic as Mahira Khan chooses one celebrity over the other, there is a good reason for it!
Not only this, Humaima Malick in one of her interviews said that if ever Mahira was to be sent in prison, it would be because of favoritism. This indicates that Humaima does not think Mahira is worthy of everything she has achieved so far and that her stardom is a product of favoritism.
Sanam Jung and Ahsan Khan
Sanam Jung and Ahsan Khan were hosting a morning show at one point. In two different interviews, Sanam Jung said that hosting with Ahsan Khan was challenging since he can be really competitive. Although Sanam Jung was really cool while talking about it and she also said that Ahsan was a dear friend, she clearly did not like the experience of working with him. Even when two friends work together sometimes it is not an enjoyable experience.
When Ahsan Khan invited Sanam Jung to his show, he also gave a clarification for his behavior! He was also mature about it therefore it did not turn into a controversy. It is however true that Sanam Jung had a really difficult time hosting with Ahsan Khan since he wanted things his way.
Zhalay Sarhadi and Shabbir Jan
Zhlalay Sarhadi is an actress who makes sure that she speaks her mind. While giving an interview to HSY she talked about the time when she worked with Shabbir Jan. She said that Shabbir Jan was really distant on the set so much so that he did not even give a decent reply to her salam. That is when Zhalay talked about it in several interviews since this was definitely not a good working experience for her, Shabbir Jan changed her attitude towards her. Now she says that the issue is sorted and they enjoy working together.
Sheheryar Munawar and Fawad Khan
Sheheryar Munawar has established himself as a serious actor with his powerful performance in Pehli Si Mohabbat. However, when he started working his first on-screen appearance was with Fawad Khan in the drama serial Zindagi Gulzar Hei. He was playing Fawad Khan’s friend in the drama and did not have a central character. In a recent interview, Sheheryar shared how terrible it was working alongside an actor who had just given a mega-hit and was on the top of the game. Sheheryar openly shared that Fawad Khan bullied him because he was convinced that Sheheryar was there not because of his acting skills but because his phupo was the one directing the drama. Sheheryar shared that Fawad was one of those many seniors on the set who never even tried to guide him but only made things difficult for him.
Some of these actors have sorted out the issues between them, others it seems are still not comfortable working with each other. Mahira and Humaima will be working in a film together whether they like it or not! Ahad and Hania we are guessing will most probably not be sharing screen space anytime soon! Syra Yusef too is not too keen on working with Fawad Khan. Sheheryar Munawar is now not just an actor but also a producer and as a producer, he has worked with Fawad Khan multiple times. He said that his relationship with Fawad Khan was now ‘civil’ but he clearly still feels that the treatment meted out to him was unfair. It takes a lot of courage to share such experiences with the public therefore these celebrities deserve appreciation for their honesty.

This latest episode of Pehli Si Mohabbat was disturbing and intense. When I titled my review last week “Trouble Ahead”, I had no idea that this trouble will be of such magnitude! This episode showed the ultimate repercussions of everything we have been watching for all these weeks. The setbacks in all the tracks got graver than ever therefore tonight Rakhshi and Aslam’s worst nightmares came true. Although we have witnessed similar scenarios in many other dramas, what set this episode apart from others was the fact that the writer took her time establishing the characters and their backstories hence I felt for all those involved. Also, Faiza Iftikhar always has an actual story to tell therefore she never rushes into showing such scenarios; the intent is never to sensationalize a certain scenario but to fit it in where it is needed. This I believe makes a huge difference since many writers nowadays are more focused on attention-grabbing tactics than telling their stories!
The story has advanced convincingly throughout with the exception of the fact that Akram got easy access to Aslam’s cell phone. Aslam had so much to hide yet his data was not protected by a password, this in my opinion was quite far-fetched. Tonight’s episode was filled with powerful emotions and all the tracks were interlinked as usual. It is unfortunate that most of the characters are trying hard to break free from their past but it is turning out to be a futile exercise. Zainab, Nargis, and even Sikandar are prisoners of their past! They constantly find themselves in situations that remind them of their past. The exceptional performances by all the actors involved made this episode an emotional roller coaster. All the scenes were executed flawlessly which made all the scenarios truly come alive on screen.
The Secret Is Out
Faiz Ullah’s visit to Akram’s house in the previous episode and everything that happened there led Aslam to do something which he might not have done otherwise. He wanted to prove to Faiz Ullah that his upbringing was flawed and Akram’s family was not the one to be blamed. This encounter was acted out and penned down so well. The intent and fears of these characters were as clear as daylight. After the conversation with Nargis, Aslam decided to meet Rakhshi, perhaps because he felt he needed to try harder. The way Faiz Ullah barged in and Aslam begged him not to hurt Rakhshi made this scene intense. The performances were on point throughout and these scenes were directed brilliantly. Sheheryar Munawar totally outdid himself in this episode; I felt for Aslam every step of the way.
Faiz Ullah was justified in feeling betrayed but it was unfortunate that he blamed Nargis and beat up his daughter. His ego was hurt more than anything else. Nargis always dreaded being held responsible for Rakhshi and Aslam’s affair and now we know why! Even after trying so hard to avoid such a situation, she ended up being in the middle of a complete mess. It was good to see Rakhshi mustering up the courage to protect Nargis. Nargis also did whatever she could to knock some sense into Faiz Ullah but he was obviously not listening. This was a repeat of everything that happened with Zainab. The beating Rakhshi got after she uttered a few lines in Nargis’ defense was proof enough that Faiz Ullah wouldn’t have supported her had she told him that she was in love with Aslam. Sikandar is turning out to be a vile character; he is playing games and did not think twice before beating Aslam up so violently. I am waiting for the time when perhaps Zainab will have to step in to stop him.
Zainab’s Track
Zainab’s track has been meaningful throughout. It shows what the future holds for Rakhshi! Also, the kind of emotional blackmailing that led to Zainab’s wedding is quite similar to Faiz Ullah’s mindset at the moment. Zainab’s mother did not even try to understand her daughter’s feelings and Faiz Ullah also expects Rakhshi to be thankful because he let her live! Keeping appearances is clearly much more important for these parents than looking out for their own daughters and ensuring that they get to make choices that lead to their happiness. These dialogues and the situations reminded me of one of Zainab’s dialogues from the past when she told her mother how she completely failed to see the scars on her soul! Nargis also said something similar today when she asked Faiz Ullah to see if Rakhshi was alright. So much is expected from these daughters but there is little consideration for what they want.
Final Remarks
This powerful episode of Pehli Si Mohabbat did complete justice to Aslam and Rakhshi’s love story and at the same time raised many valid questions intelligently. It showed all the perspectives; how young people fall in love, why parents force them to get married to people of their choice and the important role societal pressure plays in everyone’s lives. Faiz Ullah and Zainab’s mother have been so focused on getting approval from other people that they do not even try to see things from their children’s perspective. Aslam is the same; he is constantly looking for validation from society in general by following the list of dos and don’ts! Do parents raise children so that they can one day make them proud by sacrificing their happiness to get a moral certificate from society? Pehli Si Mohabbat really does make it crystal clear that you cannot please everyone and sometimes in trying to do so you make the people you claim to love and protect miserably. This episode was one of the best so far. The performances were outstanding throughout; Sheheryar Munawar, HSY, Rabia Butt, Maya Ali, and Shabbir Jan in particular acted brilliantly. The preview of the next episode was equally intense. I can’t wait to watch what team Pehli Si Mohabbat has in store next!

Ohkay so, this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat practically offered nothing apart from furthering into what Farhad was going through & how severe the pain of heartbreak for him was. It is interesting to note that all of a sudden, the director wants the viewers to feel for Farhad whereas the intensity of his love has not really been justified as such. At this stage, it is hard to take Farhad seriously because he is coming across as a stubborn boy who fails to understand that Mahi is just not into him. If we go by the fact that Farhad is the central character, then all of this can be accepted but as a viewer, I really feel the director failed in convincing me to feel for Farhad & connect with his character as I would’ve liked to.
Farhad’s Heartbreak & Reactions
This episode was all about Farhad and how the people around him were perceiving him & his emotions. Sajal also decided to confess, that the entire scene was acted brilliantly by both Shameen Khan & Feroze Khan. If Farhad had thought things through, he would’ve seen himself in Sajal, a girl involved in one-sided love, with him having absolutely nothing to offer to her in return. This is exactly what Farhad’s current condition is like. Although the way he treated her with kindness & respect was really sweet. He understood where she was coming from but did not take a moment before letting her know that he was just not the one for her. It was interesting how Sajal assumed that Farhad was also interested in her, she tried to use it as an excuse, to plead her case but soon enough she found out that it was once again a misapprehension on her part.
Dilawar finally let Farhad know that he had found out about his love for Mahi. I do understand that the writer tried to add a lot of depth into the situation & because the story revolves around Farhad, Dilawar kept on praising him, but at one point, I found it a bit too forced. I do get it, everyone around Farhad is a bit too impressed by him but considering how slow the pace of the drama overall is, these conversations end up looking a bit prolonged to keep my interest intact in a scene.
Fakira was another person pleading Farhad’s case & I guess she is the first person to say to Mahi’s face that she is kind of responsible for initiating this. I am not sure how I feel about this because all of a sudden it looks like everyone around Mahi is trying to guilt-trip her for something she thought wasn’t such a big deal. Mahi’s conversation with Sahiba was also misleading where she kind of accepted that just because she was outside the vicinity of her home, she thought crossing the limits wasn’t going to cost her anything!?! This is just a simple, harmless friendship that we are seeing right from the beginning & now it seems the writer is just trying to use it to strengthen Farhad’s case, trying really hard to justify that Farhad was right in thinking this equation with Mahi had a future & this could turn into something long-lasting. I really feel the director should’ve invested more time in developing the feelings of Farhad for Mahi organically because right now it makes his character look irrational & kind of tunnel-visioned that just because a girl smiled & spoke to him frankly, he thought this was a reason enough to literally pressurize her into believing that this was love!
A Filler Episode
This episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat can definitely be termed as a filler. Although there wasn’t much that happened in terms of development of the story but one thing remains consistent & that is the performances of all the actors. They surely have breathed life into these characters but because the storyline isn’t as powerful as it should’ve been, I am finding it hard to take the characters & their reactions seriously. It is sad that the writer Hashim Nadeem has literally tried to stretch a story on the basis of a misunderstanding & that definitely takes away the charm this love story otherwise could’ve had. Anyhow, I am glad that the director is taking the time to develop Mahi’s feelings, slowly but surely it is happening & I can see that she is unable to stop thinking about Farhad, this is why Mahi was startled when she received Taimoor’s call & instead of being happy, she was pre-occupied & found it burdensome to talk to him while thinking about someone else. Iqra Aziz has definitely given a lot of clarity to Mahi’s character & her emotions, I really wish that the writer has etched out her character a bit more & I will get to see that in the remaining episodes. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

Amir Liaquat Hussain after his second marriage could not escape from criticism till now. Recently actress Haniya Khan who portrays small characters in dramas stood up and declared herself as Aamir Liaquat’s third wife.
“This has been going from a long time”, declares Haniya. Haniya revealed that she and her family had been meeting Dr. Aamir Liaquat for a long time and seeing our love, the family arranged our marriage, but her second wife Tooba Aamir started a campaign against this marriage and their love. “Tooba is hypocrite, she tried to damage my career”, says Haniya Khan. She often shared screenshots and videos of her video calls with Aamir Liaquat on her Facebook ID.
Haniya also shared mobile messages of Dr. Aamir Liaquat through screenshots in which Aamir Liaquat repeatedly expressed his love.
She further added that she tried to commit suicide four times, and just because of Aamir Liaquat she also raised her hand against her mother and father, but now he has left her alone because of Tooba.

Characterizations in dramas can make all the difference. Apart from the storyline, different shades of the characters in a drama attract the attention of the viewers. Even a negative character can stand out and leave a mark if it is etched out well. Similarly, a well-etched-out supporting character can sometimes have more of an impact than a leading character. In order for a character to stand out, it should be layered and logical. The best dramas are obviously those in which the leading and the supporting characters hold the interest of the viewers and keep them intrigued. Also, the journey of these characters plays a crucial role in making them more appealing. Every year, Pakistani drama writers give us so many unforgettable characters that leave a lasting impression. Right now there are so many dramas that have the most amazing characters, both positive and negative.
Here is a list of the best characters from Pakistani dramas right now:
[lwptoc]
Moosa (Raqse Bismil)
Moosa has to be one of the most unusual leading men in Pakistani dramas. He is a flawed character but his definite appeal makes him the top candidate for this list. The character has been penned down convincingly throughout. The writer showed the uncultured, emotional, impulsive, and rigid side of Moosa in the first few episodes. Once he fell in love and found out the truth about Zohra his character development started. Gradually, Moosa learned so much which he never thought he would have to learn, ever! He has completely changed in these 18 weeks and his journey continues to be the most engaging element of the drama. This character has the viewers’ undivided attention because Moosa’s strengths and weaknesses have been penned down beautifully by the writer. The fact that Imran Ashraf has owned this character throughout and has never hesitated to translate different shades of his personality on screen has made all the difference. The success of the drama rests largely on this character.
Jalal (Aulaad)
Jalal is the head of the family in Aulaad who is constantly tested by his sons. He is a father who dedicated his entire life to educate his sons and make them independent, yet when it was time for them to help him out financially they refused to take responsibility. Jalal made some grave mistakes throughout to hold his family together and as a result ended up losing his house and daughter. Through this character, the writer has intelligently shown that parents should not depend on their children wholly. His mistakes serve as a lesson for all the parents out there. It is rarely ever that the premise of the entire story in Pakistani dramas rests on an older protagonist therefore Aulaad’s main protagonist is one-of-a-kind. Muhammad Ahmed is a phenomenal actor who always adds intensity to all the characters he plays. His performance coupled with how beautifully this character has been penned down makes this character one of the best this season.
Afreen (Aulaad)
Afreen is a breath of fresh air in the drama serial Aulaad which has many selfish and negative characters. Afreen is a woman who is caring and loving, even though her husband does not support his parents but she always tries her best to make her husband understand that he is not being fair. She has some really positive traits but she has not been able to ‘help’ her husband and his family the way she would have wanted to. Even though she disagrees with her husband on so many things but she goes along with whatever he decides and does so without coming across as a bechari. The writer has shown through this character that sometimes the daughters-in-law can give the kind of love to their parents-in-law which the sons do not. Since there are two other daughters-in-law in the drama who are selfish and manipulative, Afreen balances out this negativity and keeps the portrayals from being stereotypical. Sunita Marshal has pulled off this character elegantly throughout hence making it stand out.
Mooni (Aulaad)
We are genuinely pleased to see an accurate representation of people with special needs in Aulaad. Mooni is one such character who has certain challenges because of which her parents have to constantly struggle to keep her situation from getting worse. Since every character in this drama serves a bigger purpose, we feel that Mooni also served the purpose of making people see that such people need unconditional love. They are also sensitive and loving individuals who are easily disturbed if they are met with challenges that are incredibly overwhelming. Through this character, the writer has also shown how important the support of the entire family is in order to keep such family members from feeling alienated. Qudsia Ali’s effortless portrayal made the viewers fall in love with her character. Mooni’s exit from the drama proved to be a turning point for many characters in the drama.
Adnan (Aulaad)
Adnan is one of the three sons in the drama serial Aulaad who disappoint their parents and even hurts them repeatedly. Even though his character is not likable, we truly appreciate how it has been penned down and translated on screen. Adnan has a weak personality which is why he is easily convinced by his wife who keeps on telling him to be more ‘selfish’. There is a good side to him but he does not care about his parents enough to put his foot down. This character shows how important it is for men to maintain a balance in relationships. Although Adnan is a sensible and intelligent man, he failed to keep this balance and therefore failed his parents. Furqan Qureshi has made sure that this character comes alive on screen in a way that the viewers do not have a problem connecting to it.
Aslam (Pehli Si Mohabbat)
Aslam from the drama serial Pehli Si Mohabbat is turning out to be such an interesting character as the story progresses. In the beginning, he came across as an immature and emotional young man but through his interactions with his family members who he holds dear, the viewers got to see a side of his personality that is likable and endearing. He is much more than a nakaam ashiq, he is a brother who witnessed his sister go through the worse, and that has shaped up his personality. As a grown man he is sensitive and does not want Rakhshi to go through what his sister went through. Even the careless element of his personality is never annoying but interesting addition to the character. Sheheryar Munawar has truly embraced this character and given it his best.
Sumbul (Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahin)
Sumbul is the main lead in drama serial Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahin. Despite of everything that happened to her, she never gave up and even now continues fighting for her freedom. Her backstory was presented on screen in such a way that the viewers had no difficulty relating to who Sumbul was and what shaped up her personality from the start. She was sold to Surraya auntie at a young age and even though she has been living this life for so long, she does not only wish to be free herself one day but she has a bigger objective of freeing all the other girls as well. Strong, sensitive, and wise, Sumbul is the kind of leading lady who reaffirms our faith in Pakistani dramas. Yumna Zaidi’s brilliant performance has definitely added more intensity to this character.
Najma (Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahin)
Najma is a mother who supports her daughters even though it requires going against her husband’s will. She is not a rebel but an intelligent woman who is making a difference bit by bit. The character has been written down logically and translated on screen convincingly. She is a caring and nurturing woman who fights against all odds and is wise enough to know the challenges she faces. Samiya Mumtaz makes Najma’s character a treat to watch because she brings out her gentle and caring nature superbly on screen.
Naeem Sherwani (Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahin)
Naeem Sherwani is a negative character yet he made it to this list because through this character the writer has intelligently highlighted the hypocrisy of our society. His sick mentality and his need to control women, unfortunately, represent the mentality of so many such men who blame women and want them to cover up because they are actually the ones with a dirty mind! He has a ‘fan following’ because a lot of people agree with his agenda and then there are others such as Qazi sahib who do not necessarily agree but go along with everything simply to be part of the ‘group’. Kashif Mehmood has done complete justice to this character.
Surraya (Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahin)
Surraya auntie runs a brothel and she was once a young girl who was sold just like all the other girls who work for her now. She lacks empathy; she is also highly manipulative and materialistic. This is another character that aptly represents a vicious circle. Even though she was once a victim of human trafficking, she does not think twice before putting the girls’ lives in danger. She learned to be cruel at a young age therefore all she cares about is material gains. The way she exploits girls and manipulates them has been presented so well on screen. Navid Shehzad is phenomenal in this role.
Haider’s Mother (Fitoor)
In the drama serial Fitoor, it won’t be wrong to say that the only wise and rational character is of Haider’s mother played beautifully by Ismat Zaidi. She has seen how hard her only child has struggled and how long it took him to move past the heartbreak, therefore now more than ever, she is adamant to turn things around. She is the kind of mother who understands and adores her son but is also not afraid to call him out when she feels he is losing sight of rationality. She has done what it takes to make her daughter-in-law Dilnasheen feel welcomed and a part of the family. She realizes that because Haider is still preoccupied with the thoughts of Mehmal, it is affecting his relationship with Dilnasheen and for that, she is being the voice of reason and calling spade a spade. In Pakistani dramas, it is a rarity to find such mothers-in-law who do not turn a blind eye to the faults of their own sons, therefore this character is not only refreshing but the best one from the drama serial Fitoor.
Ifrah (Qayamat)
Neelam Munir Khan has yet again done a character like Ifrah which probably happens to be the best thing about drama serial Qayamat. Ifrah is a strong-headed, emotionally independent, and intelligent girl who is sorted and knows what she wants out of life. Although things didn’t turn out to be quite favorable for her because she was forced into a marriage that she was not happy about, she sacrificed her happiness for the sake of her niece but still, she decided to approach it on her own terms. This is what sets her character apart. Ifrah was also intelligent enough to turn her parent’s condition around because she was able to figure out how her father was being treated unfairly. The best aspect about her character is that she doesn’t really bother about what others think about her, especially when she knows that she is in the right.
Meerab (Shehnai)
In Pakistani dramas, where all the men are known to be cold, indifferent, and flawed, Meerab’s character is the complete opposite and a breath of fresh air. He is emotional, he is sensitive and very much in touch with his feelings. The best part about him is that he is a people’s pleaser in a nice way and because he himself is so kind and nice, he sees those traits in others and often gets into trouble because he just can not say no. Meerab is not at all judgmental and believes in accepting everyone with their flaws and shortcomings. In Pakistani dramas, such characters are never really seen, this is why Meerab stands out so much and for all the right reasons. Affan Waheed should definitely do more roles like these, it is nice to see him experimenting and playing such characters to perfection.
Absar (Shehnai)
Absar is the head of the family in the drama serial Shehnai and what makes him so special and different is the fact that he is not just the head of the family because he happens to be the eldest son. He is actually someone who likes to keep the family ties intact, despite seeing how his family members often become a part of the family politics, he steers clear from it all and makes sure that these petty issues are not blown out of proportion in a way that may result in severing the ties. He keeps his whole family together while making sure that they all practice forgiveness, kindness, and respect while dealing with each other. Another aspect that is endearing about Absar is the relationship that he shares with his daughter, he trusts her completely and has given her enough freedom to confide in him.
Sami (Safar Tamam Hua)
Ali Rehman is one such actor who makes sure to take such characters who have a lot of layers and substance to them. The character of Sami is no different because he is the kind-hearted and compassionate person in the family who values his relationships even if it means he has to give up on what he loves the most. Sami has been neglected but as he grew older, he realized that even in the background, he has enough responsibility as it is to maintain the balance in the family. He is the one who listens to everyone’s problems and tries to find a solution. Sami would hardly complain about what is bothering him and because he is not so vocal about his issues, he often gets ignored. The way Ali Rehman has portrayed this character makes you feel for him and root for him that one day, he too will find his happiness and a way out from the traps that are holding him back.
Qifayat (Shehnai)
Qifayat is the problematic one, but because of the way this character has been written by Radain Shah and performed by Saleem Mairaj, it makes it one-of-a-kind. It is so interesting to see his antics where he uses his energies in creating one problem after another. Qifayat is well aware of the fact that no one in the family likes him but he continues to push his agendas without even paying heed to it. He is one such character who despite being negative and a trouble maker doesn’t really get on your nerves and makes it enjoyable seeing what he is upto.
Hajra (Raqeeb Se)
In the drama serial Raqeeb Se, the writer Bee Gul has brought forth such a situation which has probably not seen before in any other Pakistani drama. Through the character of Hajra, the writer has shown how big-hearted a woman can be, how selfless she can be and when she puts her mind to it, how nurturing she can be for everyone around her. Hajra has loved her husband and justfied it every step of the way and this is why she puts everyone around her in perplexity when they see her calmness and selflessness. Hajra’s love for Maqsood is her strength, which makes her selfless to accept the fact that her husband can share his life with a woman he has loved all his life. Hajra is like the binding force of this entire family and although she never gives herself enough credit, she is an integral part of Maqsood’s life who has provided him the home, the comfort he needed after all that he went through. Sania Saeed has breathed life into this character and made it a lot more special.
Sakina (Raqeeb Se)
Sakina has had a tough life, she knew that she won’t be able to find the happiness in her life but she chose to pay the price in order to ensure the safety and life of the man she loved. Sakina is full of secrets but she chooses silence over everything because she has come to terms with what her life has offered her. She has loved Maqsood all her life but just because she realizes that he has a life of his own, she feels burdened being around him. Sakina has never denied loving Maqsood yet at this stage of her life, she is still in a denial. Hadiqa Kiyani’s portrayal of Sakina is so measured that actually makes you feel her pain.
Nargis (Pehli Si Mohabbat)
Nargis is fierce, she is confident and she is sorted. Nargis has had her fair shares of heartbreak and has seen the ugliest side of life upclose, therefore she has come to this point that whatever her life has offered her, she has to cherish and value it. This is exactly why she has turned out to be such a dutiful and sincere wife and has accepted her step daughter with all her heart. Nargis is the kind of person who likes to empower others around her even if it means she has to give and nurture it by sacrificing a great deal. Nargis’ character is so layered but the best part about her is that she treats people the way they deserve to be treated – she can be your absolute best friend or your total nightmare, given what you want her to be.
Zainab (Pehli Si Mohabbat)
Zainab has faced rejection, sadness and heartbreak, and although she has come to terms with it, she is still recovering. The sad part is that because her own family, especially her brother and her mother chose not to hear her out and trust her, she finds it hard to move on. Zainab is a depiction of helpless and hopeless women in the society who could have had a better chance at life but were ripped off of their happiness. It is beautiful how despite not having much to give, she at least understands what her younger brother is facing and is always there to support him. Zainab comes up with some of the most profound advices for Aslam and the relationship she shares with him is simply beautiful. Uzma Hassan is at her finest in Pehli Si Mohabbat.
This completes the list of the best characters that are seen in Pakistani dramas this season. Which one of these are your favorite? Feel free to add more names to the list.

The treatment given to this recent episode was underwhelming, to say the least. Laila’s character got plenty of screen time and it is turning out to be an important character that will make the ultimate sacrifice. All the other actors are well-suited for their respective roles therefore it is difficult to understand why an actor such as Zara Sheikh, who clearly lacks basic acting skills, was chosen to play the role. It is even more disappointing because the character and this entire track have been written so well. The most emotional scenes tonight fell completely flat because of the way they were executed. Even Momin Saqib’s performance in the last scene was not as impressive as it has been in the drama overall. The murder attempt and the manner in which it was thwarted wasn’t the most convincing element of this recent episode. This important development was covered rather casually and not shown in detail. However, there was an element of surprise in this episode as well which makes Raqs-e-Bismil a drama that continues to be engaging even though the execution seems to be faltering with every passing episode.
Flawed Execution
Tonight’s episode opened with Malik Sheheryar and Tauqeer discussing how their ‘investments’ were not turning out to be as lucrative as they had hoped. Sheheryar’s brother gave him a final warning; this was the first scene in tonight’s episode which wasn’t as impactful as it should have been because the actor playing the brother’s role did not act convincingly. Everything looked staged which made it difficult for me to relate to Sheheryar’s predicament. The conversation between Sheheryar and Tauqeer set the stage for the two most important developments in this episode. Tauqeer had already planned Laila’s murder and the aftermath of this murder attempt was the reason why Laila gave Sheheryar an offer he could not resist. Everything leading to the murder and Laila’s decisions later on made perfect sense but some of the performances left a lot to be desired. Tauqeer’s detailed conversations on the phone did not work for me at all since he could have planned all this face to face while keeping these conversations on the phone short and to the point. He was given more screen time than Laila at this point which I felt was not needed. I also cringed when he flushed the sim and was comfortable walking away without washing his hands!
Moosa found out about the murder plan right on time, this was another coincidence that could have been avoided had he found out about it earlier. He could have been present there to prevent the murder attempt and the viewers should have been shown how and when he found out, later on. The fact that we were shown this scene beforehand made this entire development a little too predictable. Once again, Laila walked out of her bedroom and into the trap even though she had the option of calling her guards or the police. This scene was laughable especially because there was hardly any sign of worry on her face when she asked those questions and walked out of the room. She looked calm even though it was evident that this wasn’t the kind of situation she should have been comfortable with. The worry was minimal as if there wasn’t a murder attempt only a few days back! I would have liked to watch how Moosa rescued Laila and ultimately found out who had sent Kundun. The director definitely took a shortcut even though this scene needed to be shown in detail. While I appreciate the fast pace of the drama, I do feel that this time around some important scenes were compromised in order to wrap up this particular development in the story.
As if this was not enough, Laila was sitting in the hospital with a full face of make-up. This coupled with Zara Sheikh’s unimpressive acting made it really difficult for me to feel for Laila. This entire emotional conversation between Moosa and Laila could have been a treat to watch if Zara Sheikh was able to deliver the dialogues convincingly. Laila and Moosa’s interactions have been written in such a meaningful manner right from the start. There has always been a connection between these two and it was always difficult for me to understand what it was about or where this was leading. Tonight, we found out that because of this close connection with Laila, Moosa understood Zohra more than ever. And it was because of this connection that Laila decided to go all out to help Moosa. Imran Ashraf continues to give outstanding performance even when he is sharing screen space with actors who fail to deliver.
By the end of this episode, Esa found out who was with Moosa that day. I must say that he figured it out pretty quick which was surprising given the fact that he never thought that Sakina could have been the one who was with Moosa the day he shot those boys. Since Esa has been monitoring the house in the same jeep Moosa was in, it is rather strange that no one noticed it and informed Kamran’s friends. I have loved Momin’s performance throughout but his expressions in this scene were not on point!
Final Remarks
This wasn’t the best episode of Raqs-e-Bismil in terms of execution. However, a great deal happened tonight which will make the next episode more interesting but in order to show all this in one episode, the director failed to pay attention to details. The shaky performances by some of the actors made it difficult for me to relate to and feel for some of the characters. The preview of the next episode was exciting! Will Esa forgive Sakina? Will Moosa’s father forgive him after finding out the truth? Will Zohra and Moosa be together in the end? I am waiting to find out.
Did you watch tonight’s episode of Raqs-e-Bismil? Do share your thoughts about it.
Ayeza Khan is one of the most famous actresses of Pakistan. Ayeza has been a part of a number of dramas, but over the past few years, we have also seen her doing modeling for various brands. There is a new photoshoot of Ayeza on the internet every now and then. It isn’t only brand shoots that Ayeza has been a part of, Ayeza makes sure that all the events of her life get captured by professional photographers. Whether it’s Eid, anyone’s birthday, vacations, or just a random day, Ayeza Khan’s pictures are always on point.
Ayeza took Instagram to share pictures from the first Iftar Party of this Ramadan. In the pictures, we can see Ayeza Khan’s mother and daughter along with her and they all are wearing similar dresses by Farah Talib Aziz. Ayeza Khan looked flawless as always.
Sunita Marshall is a big name of our media industry. Sunita started off her career as a model and became one of the most favorite faces of the ramp. Later on, she tried her luck with acting and remained successful. Sunita got married to actor Hassan Ahmed and together they have two kids, Sunita Marshall recently gave an interview to Something Haute.
Sunita shared that she likes to keep her private life a bit private. If she is wearing certain clothes while vacationing abroad, she doesn’t feel like sharing them on social media.
Sunita also talked about the rat race of getting more followers. She said that our young generation of actors does some out-of-the-box stuff just to get more attention and followers which is not right anyway.
Ayeza Khan is one of the top and leading actresses of the Pakistani drama industry. It won’t be wrong to say that she is that kind of a star whose association with any project brings a lot of hype and popularity to it. Ayeza Khan has done varied roles but this is the first time, she ventured into Ramzan special transmission this year with the play Chupke Chupke. The moment it was announced, her fans and supporters started anticipating it. Although the entire team faced a lot of challenges because of the Covid-19 lockdown, finally they completed the shoot and it is currently on air. Chupke Chupke has been written by Saima Akram Chaudry and is directed by Danish Nawaz.
Ayeza Khan plays a one-of-a-kind character in Chupke Chupke; Muniha/Meenu. She has failed her exams twice and struggles to concentrate on her studies because her heart and mind are just not into it. Meenu likes playing cricket with her cousin and younger sister, she is also quite clumsy and dramatic. The only person she dreads interacting with is Fazi, her cousin who happens to be her tutor as well. Apart from Fazi, there is absolutely no one who can make Meenu do what she doesn’t feel like. Ayeza Khan has given this character a perfect treatment and she fits the role perfectly. It is also interesting to see how energetic and lively she looks on screen and because of that, she has matched the energy and dynamic of the character quite well.
Ayeza Khan has acted brilliantly in the drama serial but another thing that makes the character of Meenu just perfect is the type of styling that has been chosen for her. It is a known fact that Ayeza always puts a lot of effort into making her characters look perfect and this is why she pays a lot of attention to the wardrobe and overall styling. This is exactly what she has done for Meenu and in every single episode, she has not only looked cute but her styling has been just right, matching the age, personality, and dynamic of this character appropriately.
Ayeza Khan’s Styling
In the drama serial Chupke Chupke, Meenu has worn kurtis and the kind of suits that can be worn by any unmarried, young, and college-going girl. She has picked all kinds of fabrics, textures, silhouettes, and cuts to add variety to the wardrobe and avoid making her overall look monotonous. It is interesting to note that just in the form of kurtis, her dress designers have experimented so much and have given her so much variety. From short to long, from collared shirts to buttoned details, bold prints to quirky ones and bright colors to monotones as well, there is a lot of styling that has gone into the look of this character and Ayeza Khan has carried all the outfits and looks perfectly.
Meenu is also quite big on accessories. She wears her hair in loose curls but doesn’t forget to add hair accessories, which go well with the age of Meenu’s character. From colorful hairpins to clips to hairbands and even hair ties, Meenu has carried it all. She also wears earrings randomly but when it comes to her hands, she doesn’t miss out on rings and lots and lots of bracelets. A pair of jeans and khussas are her go-to and this is the look she carries mostly at home as well as her college. Meenu has also worn some shirts and trousers and shalwar kameez but the essence has remained the same; they go with her personality and fit her character well. Ayeza Khan has also carried tie and dye outfits and they have looked really nice. It is interesting to note how the overall styling of Ayeza Khan in Chupke Chupke is modest yet trendy. She has worn loose-fitted shirts, that can be carried by anyone. She has shown that looking trendy can be this easy and fun. She has also kept her makeup to an absolute minimum and it is doing complete justice to her natural beauty because of the way it has been enhanced with the help of a no-makeup look.
Ayeza Khan’s Trendy & Beautiful Kurti Collection
Ayeza Khan’s Stunning Outfits
What are your thoughts about Ayeza Khan’s overall look and styling in the drama serial Chupke Chupke? Do you think she is carrying this look nicely? Feel free to share your opinion.

Shahroz Sabzwari is a famous television and film actor of Pakistan. He is the son of legendary actor Behroze Sabwari and has worked in a lot of dramas.
A video of Shahroz Sabzwari is currently making rounds on the internet. In the video, Shahroz is seen doing post-iftar running on the street. But the main thing that ignited the fire is Shahroz Sabzwari’s dress, which isn’t there.
He is just wearing short-length knee-breeches and along with his friends who are wearing the same breeches and running around on the streets of Karachi.
The video has bought in a lot of criticism for Shahroz Sabzwari. People are schooling him that modesty and Parda aren’t just for women, men should also show some sensible behaviors and cover themselves properly.
Let’s have a look at the public remarks on Shahroz’s video:
