Yasir Hussain strikes again with his inappropriate jokes. This time he trolled Shazia Khushk.

Shazia Khushk is famous for her songs. She has performed across all parts of the country. Her famous song is ‘Dana Pe Dana’ which is a must played song on every desi wedding.

Yesterday, Shazia announced that she is going to leave the industry due to religious reasons. Yasir Hussain made an inappropriate joke on this news and said:

“Sad.. ab dany pe daana nahi hoga. But I’m happy k sab daany apni apni jagah pe rahengy.”

This joke has history, as he called Hania Aamir’s face as “Danedaar”.

Hania Aamir took to Instagram to get real about her skin she posted, “[My acne] would show on camera and everybody started to ask me [about it], started with the totkas [home remedies] and then came the anxiety,” said Hania. “I kept it clean, toner, creams, dermatologists, everything! Nothing seemed to fix my skin and I had my nights AND days of crying. Feeling insecure. Anxiety. Makeup wouldn’t help. I was a mess but I went through it and got out of it too.”

After this post, one of the fans of Yasir Hussain asked him to say one word about Hania and he replied “Danedaar”.

On which Hania responded and posted:

This is not the first time Yasir has made an inappropriate joke. He was also targetted when he made an insensitive joke about transgender persons.

Renowned folk singer Shazia Khushk has bid farewell to the music industry. According to her statement given to the Express Tribune, Shazia stated that she had decided to part ways with showbiz owing to her ‘religious beliefs.’

“I’ve decided to spend the rest of my life in service of Islam,” stated the Danay Pe Dana singer.

As per Shazia, she had also declined a number of offers to perform overseas as they clashed with her religious obligations and her beliefs.

“I’m grateful to my fans for loving my songs and hope that they will strongly support me in my new move,” said the folk singer.

Adding further that she did not want to venture back to the field ever again, Shazia stated, “I really took my time to think about what I wanted to do at this stage in my life… I’m certain that I won’t want to join this field [showbiz] again.”

Shazia also shared that she was “eternally grateful” to her fans for “appreciating” her music for the past two and a half decades. Khushk is known for folk melodies in Sindhi, Balochi Dhatki, Kashmori, Gujrati, Sairaiki, Urdu, Brelvi and also Punjabi.

However, Shazia Khushk’s announcement to quit the showbiz industry isn’t something new to the industry in Pakistan. A number of celebrities have previously bowed out quoting their own personal beliefs as reasons. In Bollywood, recently, actor Zaira Wasim, announced her leave from B-Town stating her profession conflicted with her religious beliefs as a Muslim.

Shamoon Abbasi and Sherry Shah starrer Durj, a film that was inspired by real life incidents in Pakistan and focused on the story of cannibals, was due to release on the 18th of October, all over Pakistan. However, in a rather unexpected and rather unpleasant turn of events, the central censor board in the country has halted the release of the film, a fortnight before it was due.

According to a post shared by the film’s official Facebook page, the censor board had some sort of objections and have halted the release in Pakistan for now.

“We are working on it and trying our best and have requested the authorities for another review, and if they find any thing unsuitable we can remove it as per their request,” read the official statement by the filmmakers.

Until the objections are resolved, Durj will not be releasing in Pakistan. However, the film, which was also due to release internationally across the UK, USA, Canada, Norway and Denmark, will do so, as per its schedule on the 11th of October.

In Pakistan, Durj, was being distributed by IMGC Global. However, with the censor board objecting to the release now, we’ll have to wait for this unique story to see the light of the day in the country, whose cinema industry is already faced by a draught ever since the ban on Indian films.

Durj’s trailer brought across a very unique and eye opening storyline, with excellent performances by both Shamoon Abbasi and Sherry Shah. The duo came across as raw and powerful, enticing the audience to watch the film as soon as possible. However, as it seems, we’ll all have to wait some more now.

Finally, we have an announcement for a film by the hit clan. Humayun Saeed, Nadeem Baig and Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, have announced another film project, titled ‘London Nahi Jaunga’ slated to release on Eid ul Azha 2020.

The last film outing by the trio with Saeed in the lead, Baig as the director and Khalil ur Rehman Qamar as the writer, ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’ turned out to be the biggest hit ever produced by the Pakistani film industry. Even today, ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’ still holds the record of being the highest grosser and having run for the longest time in cinemas across the country.

According to a recent interview of Humayun Saeed, ‘London Nahi Jaunga’ will not be a sequel of any sorts to the previous film, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, even though there might be a resemblance in the name. The film will follow a fresh slate, new script, new characters, the leading lady for which is being hunted for.

Saeed stated that this one would be another romantic comedy filled with emotions and laughter, a total family entertainer, like his previous films have been.

Humayun Saeed’s last cinematic outing, a sequel to Jawani Phir Nahi Aani, released in 2018 and managed to rake in big monies. However, Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2, had an ensemble cast with Saeed pitted against the versatile Fahad Mustafa, who actually stole the screen in a number of their scenes together. We’re now eager to see how Humayun Saeed’s next cinematic venture turns out to be.

Considering Saeed’s alliance with Nadeem Baig and Khalil ur Rehman Qamar churned out his biggest and hittest film to date, we’re sure, this one will be another big winner. Trans Alina shared her gut-wrenching story in an interview.

The Pakistani short film ‘Darling’ just won the Orizzonti best short film award at the Venice Film Festival. Darling is a movie with a trans character at the center, played by Alina, who is a khawajasira, the film explores notions of femininity and masculinity in Pakistan.

In this podcast, the host discusses why it was important to cast a trans character to play the trans role, how the movie came to be and Alina shares her gut-wrenching personal experiences.

Alina shared her journey and said, “I used to get hurt when people called me with bad names but now I accept my gender. I simply ignore all the hate because people never stop talking about you.”

Alina’s first experience of doing movie, Darling:

When I was first offered this movie,” I was super confused about how I am going to represent myself and my gender but Saim (the film producer) and Sana guided me a lot, I felt like I am working with my people.”

Alina further talked about how she was mocked by society and even her own family, “My brother sometimes didn’t open the door of the home for me for like the whole night and I used to keep on knocking the door. Eventually, I spent nights on the road.”

“When I put a status on Whatsapp about my movie, my brother messaged me to ask about what kind of role I am playing in it? I couldn’t tell him about my role because I was ashamed of telling him that the story is about a trans person who is me. When I got an award, I shared the news on my Whatsapp. My brother messaged me and asked the same question again, I replied that ‘the movie is based on my life‘, Alina shared.

Yashma Gill appeared on Samina Peerzada’s show where she talked about her life-long struggles and how she comes from a broken family due to which she struggled with depression and anxiety.

Yashma shared her life story and said, “I come from a broken family and I started staying away from my family. I used to think all are against me and I can’t share anything with them. So, I started depending on friends. You try to make family outside but you don’t get the return which you get from your blood relations. You share emotional stuff with friends.”

“The things were going really rough and I shared with my friends. At one time in my life, I used to not know anything whatever is happening at my home. My family was used to my rebellious nature,” said Yashma.

Yashma poured her heart out and revealed, “I didn’t get the exact return from my friends. I made them my world but they didn’t make me part of their world. I think when you have a negative approach towards things you attract negative people. I made such kind of friends. At that time I was wanting lots of love, comfort, and acceptance. When you want to get accpeted you do a lot of stuff so I was taken for granted.”

Now after all this happened, there my battle with Allah started. When you’re in teenage life you don’t understand what you’re doing is something wrong and you don’t realize much. Then I start doing bad things because I saw nothing happens with bad people. You basically switch off the emotional button but somewhere in my head, there was fear of karma which I kept on suppressing. I won’t say which bad things I did but those things started making me feel guilty and burden increased inside my head, Yashma disclosed.

She further revealed, “At the age of 19, there was no one with whom I could vent out. All these things were going inside me and caused me depression and anxiety. I was diagnosed with clinical depression at the age of 19. That phase was the worst phase of my life because I was young and I couldn’t figure out what is happening with me. I had a panic attack later on. It was a difficult phase for me but I didn’t share it with my family. Later on, due to having anxiety and all I started staying at home and realized how nice my family is. Then I decided to change myself, I was the one who is wrong all this time. To stay away from the toxic environment I went to Australia for studies.”

There was a panel discussion at the Islamabad Literature Festival between Fasi Zaka, Ali Aftab, George Fulton, and Nadeem Paracha. Nadeem repeatedly referred to Shaniera as ”Wasim Akram’s wife” to which a woman from the audience shouted,” She has a name”. Nadeem got little embraced in front of everyone.

Once the video of the incident hit the internet, it caught the attention of Shaniera Akram herself. She tweeted ” Who is this amazing woman? #shehasaname You go, girl!”. Shaniera was really impressed by the lady behind the camera. She appreciated her for raising her voice in front of a huge crowd. 

She then tweeted that she is proud of being Wasim’s wife. Unfortunately, Nadeem hit a sore spot as the majority of Pakistani women are identified by their husbands and fathers. Women have their own identity and everyone should respect that.

Ali Zafar is working on Teefa In Trouble 2 and one international project.

Ali Zafar has been part of the Pakistani industry for quite a long time. He has made his name by working in movies and through his melodious songs. Ali has good fan following in Bollywood and has appeared in Bollywood films alongside Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif and many others.

Recently he appeared in The Munshi Show where he talks about his international project, Teefa In Trouble 2, future projects and much more.

His future projects are:

I have this one other international project in the pipeline. Teefa In Trouble will start next year because I require time to write for music and all. I don’t work to stay in but rather I work for my growth. I can’t rush just to be in the market, says Zafar.

On asking upon which TV actor should jump right into films?

“I thought about Fawad Khan when he was working on TV. He should be the movie star,” he replied.

What one thing which Fawad Khan, Fahad Mustafa and Atif Aslam have and you don’t have and wish to have?

The rockstar replied, “Fawad has many good things and he has got great hair. Atif Aslam has great compositions and Fahad’s energy is something I admire.”

Ali further talks about how filmmakers have an obsession with Eid, weddings, colorful dresses, love and dramatic scenes.

A few words about award shows in Pakistan? Munshi asked.

“I think they need to take the notch higher. They need to be more professional and one thing is authenticity which should never be compromised. Every channel has started their own award shows and they give awards to their films and dramas only. I would love to see everyone on single platform and support each other because our industry is very small,” Zafar shared.

Then the conversation moved to discuss about the #metoo movement on which Ali said, “I deeply respect the #metoo movement and I seriously condemn its misuse.”

Meesha Shafi’s allegations against Ali Zafar came as a complete shock for many people since these two had not just worked together but not very long ago they were even considered good friends. When the #MeToo movement was on its rise, Meesha Shafi posted a status update in which she shared that Ali Zafar had sexually harassed her during a jamming session.

Soon afterwards few other girls came forward with similar accusations and very soon this allegation was the talk of the town. While Ali Zafar announced that he was going to fight this battle in the court, people were not going to sit back and wait for the court’s hearing and the judgment.

While talking to Momin Munshi on his show Ali Zafar finally broke his silence and talked about how this controversy affected him. Ali Zafar also accused Meesha Shafi and all those people who were backing her of making fake accounts to show support for them. According to Ali Zafar this is how the social media hype was created.

Ali Zafar also shared that this was the point in his life when he found out who his friends actually were. He shared that while some people supported him privately, there were very few who came forward and supported him openly. He said that such people will always be close to his heart. Maya Ali, he said, was one such person who supported him and he will always respect her for that.

Ali Zafar also said that he presented himself before the court and that he has given all the proof he had to the court. Ali Zafar has now filed a defamation case in the court because he believes that every person deserves dignity. Ali Zafar also said that all the accusations were baseless and basically all those people who were jealous of his accomplishments supported Meesha Shafi. He also had a strong message for all such people, he believes that they eventually will burn in the fire of this jealousy.

The film starring Arif Hasan, Samiya Mumtaz and Eman Suleman in pivotal roles is slated to release in Pakistan soon. However, before it can release all over in the country, Zindagi Tamasha, was slated to premiere at the Busan International Film Festival. And now, as news has it, it has also been nominated for an award as well.

Sarmad Khoosat himself shared the news that Zindagi Tamasha, had been nominated for the Kim Jeosuk Award at the BIFF, even before its screening. The director, who will also be having a cameo role in the film, took to his Twitter to make the announcement.

The Kim Jiseok Award is a new award established in 2017 and aims at encouraging and discovering the growth and new talents of Asian Cinema. For the award, the jury will select two films from two sections, one offering a window on Asian cinema and other from the latest and most-talked films of Asian directors. The winning films will be awarded USD 10,000 each.

The official synopsis for Zindagi Tamasha reads,”(it is ) an intimate portrait of a family as well as a scorching political commentary on little gods on this earth who police our private passions.”

No Pakistan release date for Zindagi Tamasha has been confirmed as of yet.
