Ayesha Omer is featuring opposite Sami Khan in Kaaf Kangana. She has quit television due to a back injury she suffered from an accident but she continues to do television. Recently she gave an interview to Galaxy Lollywood where she talked about her film Kaaf Kanagana.
On being asked about her character she said, “The name of my character is Gulnaz. Gulnaz is a Punjabi girl who is young, carefree and free-spirited. She lives with her sister and grandfather in a huge haveli in the walled city of Lahore. Her motto in life is living it to the fullest. She is the quintessential girl next door; straight forward and feisty who eventually falls in love with his neighbor (Sami Khan).”
On her equation with the director she said, “Khalil Sahab may have a reputation for being a tough taskmaster on the sets, but to me he is an institution to work with. Yes, he can be extremely tough with unprofessional people but for the most part, he is full of knowledge and expertise, he knows his script, characters and most importantly, his craft. He brings out a creatively-enriching feeling in me as an actor. The way he pushes you and challenges you, you just let him guide you. It was surprising that Khalil sahib and I were always on the same page. He used to call me “Cheeti” as I was quick to perceive his vision. He is someone who has no ego issues when it comes to learning from others.”
Earlier we had reported that Meera was in the US for sometime for a vacation and she was having a ball of time. Just when she starts to fade from our memories she makes an appearance and reminds us all that she is still there. She was in news last time as the court had asked her to appear in her marriage with Attiq ur Rehman Case.
Although, she had not been doing enough good work for now but she has signed Saqib Malik’s debut film Baaji which revolves around a former actress’ fading stardom. On being asked if the film is based on her real life story, she said that she could relate with a few chunks but it is not entirely based on her life. We all know how great Zahid Ahmed’s sense of humor is. His Instagram stories are a riot and people wait for him to add some new. He’s a great actor with an amazing, a doting father and a loving husband. Poor Salman Khan is not Meera or Rakhi Sawant who chooses to be in the controversies, rather he is dragged into them. Black buck case, hit and run trial and many more. He’s even been to the jail couple of times but that doen’t stop people from loving him. His movies still make crores. Although, this year wasn’t great and Race 3 couldn’t do business as expected yet Salman was confident as he said that even his flops make 100 crores. Apparently, he is in hot waters again because of his film Bharat which has been in news for all the wrong reasons mostly. Previously, Priyanka Chopra quit the film and it created a controversy and how Salman, himself has done something, that has landed him into a trouble.
Salman was had been shooting for Bharat and ther was a sequence to be shot at the Wagah border, which, however, could not be possible due to security reasons. Hence, film-maker Ali Abbas Zafar chose a village in Indian Punjab where they recreated the set. Everything was well until the crew put up the Pakistan flag on the land. The villagers got extremely upset and reportedly filed a complaint against Salman.
An insider said, “Even though this is for a film shoot, local organisations are upset and have filed a police complaint against Salman. They also surrounded the sets of Bharat and the hotel that Salman was staying at. After all it is a film shoot but the locals refuse to understand.” Sensing an unfavorable situation Salman and the rest of the Bharat team quickly wrapped up the shooting and left for Mumbai.

The number of films coming out from Pakistani cinema is increasing day by day. Many new faces are coming in every walk of filmmaking and people have just fallen in love with the new wave of cinema. With many hits though is also coming a string of flops. People are experimenting with different genres and getting creative with their projects.
Another film is all ready to hit the silver screens soon and it consists of a whole new team. The film is produced by Zeekay Films who have been involved in making dramas before this and now are venturing towards cinema with their movie Talash. Talash has Mustafa Qureshi, Adnan Tipu, Noaman Sami, Faria Hassan, Ahmed Zeb, Salim Mairaj and Humaira Bano included in the cast. Talash is social issue based film and it will show the problem of malnutrition prevailing in our rural areas.
The film is directed by debutant director Zeeshan Khan and looks like a promising project!

Different brands try to put each other down and this time the war is between soft drink giant Pepsi and travelling company Careem. Careem is known for its quirky promos and funny punch lines. They use social media and engage their followers immensely.
So someone asked Careem to give them a promo code instead of offers to win smartphones. Careem got in some fun mode and replied back where they offered them a free Pepsi in place of a promo code:

If you watch any Pakistani channel, be it an entertainment channel or any news channel, you are familiar with the classic Nanhi Pari advertisement. The one where a girl on her wedding day keeps remembering all her memories with her father while sitting on a mattress. The advertisement finally got revamped and this time our new Nanhi Pari is none other than Mahira Khan. Adnan Siddiqui played the role of her Baba Jani and he ages from young to old and different phases of her life along with her daughter are shown.
The advertisement is super emotional and many daughters will feel the love they have for their fathers. Adnan Siddiqui is fabulous as he changes his acting along with his look for the said advertisement. People though loved the concept of the ad and praised Adnan were not so sure about casting Mahira Khan. Earlier we had reported that Neray Aa singer Hamayun Farhad was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He had confirmed the news saying, “It was about two weeks ago that I was diagnosed with a brain tumour due to which I suffered a seizure. I have been lucky to find the greatest surgeon in the world to operate on me but it has not been easy,” he earlier wrote on social media. I thank you for your prayers and messages of love. But the singer shared a good news on his Instagram that he has had a successful brain surgery which he labelled as life changing. Angeline Malik is a an actor, director and a producer. She’s known for her strong women-centric dramas. She’s going a step farther to empower women. She just showed strong women on Tv by far but now she has decided to initiate a movement as an advocate to voicing relevant social issues in Pakistan.
Inkaar Karo will be the first of a series of movements that will creatively depict strong women coming together to stand against suppression. She has previously talked on subjects like child abuse and violence against women on a local and international level at Appna and Wapna conference in the US.
She said, “This initiative ‘Inkaar Karo, Hum Tumhare Saath Hain’ says a lot. I have heard many stories and seen a lot due to the nature of my work. It’s hard to say no and it is even harder to speak up and make people believe you. I have brought together a group of strong women who feel the same as I do and we altogether want to convey the message that we hear you, we believe you and we will support you.”
Ishq Tamasha was not a hit. In fact, it was a superhit serial of the year. It was the most surprising hit of the year as well. It did have a catchy story but I am sure the makers wouldn’t have thought that it would be a massive success. Seems like when the leads where black for the title sequence, it gets lucky for Hum TV. Humsafar was one such show and now Ishq Tamasha. Now that the latter is over and people are missing its cast. Aiman has already arrived with Baandi opposite Muneeb butt on Hum Tv. But the rest of the cast is coming with another Ishq Tamasha kind of a story.
Faizan Khwaja and Kinza Hashmi are returning from the original cast while the two new additions would be Sonya Mishal and Ali Kazmi. Promos have already caught the attention of the viewers are our giving major deja vu thrills. Promos instantly remind you of Ishq Tamasha. But Ishq Hai Tu is going to be a totally fresh take on love and relationships.

Another cross cultural marriage has made it to the news channels. This time too it is yet another American girl who came to Lahore, Pakistan to marry the love of her life. 19 years old Maria Angela and 23 years old Mohsin from Lahore met on social media. They used to chat first and then started talking on the phone. When Mohsin proposed to Maria, she said yes instantly. She flew to Pakistan to get married to the love of her life.
This was a traditional Pakistani marriage in which Maria wore a red dress and looked like a traditional bride from every angle. The smiles on their faces show that these two love birds are very happy with their decision. The people commenting on social media however once again had so much to say about this marriage. This time also many people said that the boy got married to this woman for US visa. Some people went as far as declaring these girls who are coming to Pakistan to get married to the local boys, agents! There were other people who felt that the boy was very lucky to have found the love of his life. There were also those who wondered how this boy who could hardly converse in English, communicate with this girl.
We have been seeing Arisha Razi for very long on television. Her sitcom with Ahmed Ali Butt on Hum TV was a big hit. We hadn’t really gotten enough of Arisha that her older sister arrived. These two episodes focused on the increasing helplessness of the characters. We know how Meeru’s parents were forced to leave her at Faiza’s house to save their honour and dignity but things still did not go as they wanted to. Tahwaar came to know that Meeru was in the city now and misused the whole situation and traped Raju in the case of selling his own daughter. Raju was punished by the panchaiyat and was beaten near to death. This is a common tradition in the rural areas of Pakistan where rural courts can take one’s life or even order more heinous punishments without any valid reasons. Baandi is hitting hard on this subject and showing how these waderas exploit poor people and rule over their generations.
Another face of a Baandi is represented by Rameen. Since the start her character’s plight and Faiza’s reaction over it was very vague. One second it seemed like Faiza is throwing her in hell just because of her greed but the mystery is solved now. Faiza is not her Rameen’s real mother and technically everything that Faiza has belongs to Rameen as it was her mother’s. This makes it easy for Faiza to throw her into the dungeons and lock them without even glancing back. Kamran Jilani has played a perfect evil character. You hate him when he comes on screen or looks at Rameen. The way Rameen’s father has acted though towards the situation is hateable. He is the one even greedier than Faiza as he is Rameen’s real father and should try to show a bit of sympathy at least but Shahnawaz is the one dying for more money.
Wali is still in a haze. He is trying to make things right in his sister’s life and on the other hand, is falling for Meeru. Faiza is still unaware of the situation with Meeru and Wali and Babu Bhai is the one helping him. The way he asked him that does he even know what he is doing showed that Babu Bhai really cares for Meeru and was trying to save her from even more cruelty.
Baandi is doing a really good job showing the true face of society and the plight people are facing due to waderas in the rural areas and white collar criminals like Faiza in the cities!
Aamir Liaquat’s second wife Syeda Tuba Amir is not as well-known as her husband. Aamir Liaquat just shook the whole social media when the news of his second marriage broke out. The couple has been dating for about 6 years now and they finally tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Italy at a villa at Lake Como. Siblings prove to be lucky for the entertainment industry. Twins prove to be even luckier. For example, Aiman and Minal. They have become a rage. But there is another pair of twins who are as good. They are Hammad Farooqui and Faraz Farooqui. Two handsome twins who do not just appear in hit dramas but also remain in news for their personal life. They got married and broke many hearts and now they both have had babies and we are in love with the cuties.
The two often upload their pictures with their babies and they are too cute. We had reported that Faraz had welcomed a baby a girl and he shared a picture saying, “One of the greatest gift we’ve ever gotten in our life.” He named his daugher Hooram Hammad.
Later Hammad had shared a picture of his baby boy on Instagram saying, “The first touch of our newborn is one of the most precious moment of our life. The moment they are born brings the thrill of amazement. It brings a smile on our face which never fades away.”

Well, that’s quite a confirmation that the two are married. I’m sure most of Justin’s fan must be happy seeing him get married to the beautiful model. And some must be sad as it is a full stop to our thoughts of Justin and Selena reuniting again.

I had a number of scripts pending but Bandish caught my eye because I needed something different from acting and topic point of view and it offered just that. Bandish is a story of a family who has been put under the curse of black magic. Its a very delicate topic and being handled very well.”
The drama is directed by Aabis Raza. Talking about the team she said, “For me, a director is the most powerful aspect of a project. I believe a director has the power to drive a script, even if its not powerful. In fact, whenever I sign a project, I see the director before because a director matters more than the script or the writer to me. And Aabis Raza is one great director. He know what he wants from his characters and gets them from his actors, very warm and spreading positive vibes on the set.”

A source close to the actress recently informed that she will not be doing a solo performance at the wedding but a group one. The source told, “Priyanka will be performing with Isha’s friends at the wedding and not alone. This one will be a group performance and they have already started practices for the act and other Bollywood celebs will also join Priyanka in this.”
Ranjha Ranjha Kardi Episode 3 Story Review- Ranjha Ranjha Kardi is turning out to be an exceptional serial which transports you in its beautiful world which is reality-stricken yet magical in its own special way. The unusual yet strikingly appealing main protagonists, their stories, their fascinating personalities and the faultless direction as well as performances which are amazingly powerful make it one of the most promising dramas of recent times. 3 episodes of this drama have gone on air so far and every episode has been more intense and engaging than the previous one.
Bhola and Noori
Bhola’s scenes were the highlight of this episode as well. The way this character has been written and the manner in which Imran Ashraf has nailed it makes it an absolute delight to watch Bhola’s scenes. Although, Bhola’s bholapan as well as his naughtiness makes you laugh, it is also upsetting watching him being beaten by everyone. Bhola and Noori’s scene at the circus was shot beautifully. I was looking forward to watching these two together in more scenes but they went their separate ways after this scenes. Apparently Bhola runs away from home to meet Mumtaz Begum no matter where she is. Mumtaz Begum and the circus is an escape for Bhola who probably understands too well that he does not fit in anywhere else. Even though no one really understands Bhola and his mother is clearly sick and tired of him running away from home but so far we have seen a very candid side of Bhola. His remarks about his mother in the previous episode however showed that even though he is not like all the other people around him but he feels things the same way everyone else does. He is also observant and has a good memory because after being forced to bathe today, Bhola insisted that Noori should shake hands with him since he was “clean”. It is impossible not to fall in love with this character because it is so pure. Bhola is like a naughty child who is not scared of anything in the world. Noori and Bhola have one thing in common – they have yet to find out where they belong and they are both fearless. They are both constantly running away from their homes, while Noori is doing something productive when she is away from home, for Bhola it is only an escape.
Noori Is In Love!
Noori’s dankay ki chot pe confession of love was absolutely delightful to watch. Her reaction after she found out that she was in love made her character even more likable. It also showed a very different side of her character. This girl who held her self-respect and dignity very dear went back to Sahir’s shop to see him even after he told her off. This basically showed that Noori is not the kind of girl who would let her ego stand in the way of her feelings. She is also intelligent enough to know that Sahir loves her but he is afraid to admit it. Sahir’s reaction was surprising as well, he is clearly fascinated by Noori and seems to be falling for her but either he is married or his circumstances will never allow him to marry her therefore he does not want to give her false hope. This is the first time that Noori has fallen in love but even then she made sure that she was certain about her feelings before she went and confessed her love. Iqra Aziz is finally playing a character which offers a lot of room for performance and she has simply given this character her best. Her eyes reflect Noori’s determination, the curiosity and her worries. I love Syed Jibran’s look for this character and his performance is always natural.
Shoka Is A Ticking Bomb
Shoka loves Noori’s strong headed personality and every time she rejects him, he wants to make her his wife even more desperately. He is surely someone who will do whatever it takes to get his way and Noori’s parents are greedy enough to let him have his way if he pays them enough. Noor-ul-Hassan always gives an outstanding performance no matter what role he is playing. He nails both negative and positive characters effortlessly. His performance in this play too is superb.
Award-Winning Performances
This drama has some of the best performances we have seen in recent times. Bhola in particular is an exceptionally difficult role to translate on screen yet Imran Ashraf makes it look almost effortless. Although, Iqra Aziz’s performance has been faultless too but I find myself looking forward to Bhola’s scenes and he never disappoints.
Overall Impression
This episode was picture perfect in every way. Every scene was written and shot beautifully. The amazing team of Ranjha Ranjha Kardi has given the viewers quite a few unforgettable moments in these 3 weeks. It was the kind of episode you want to watch over and over again. Ranjha Ranjha Kardi is a must-watch play which should not be missed.
