Zareen Umer Shares Unknown Details About Umer Sharif

Today, Zareen appeared on Shaista Lodhi’s podcast where she discussed the tragic death of Umer Sharif’s daughter, Hira. Zareen shared inner details, she said, “Hira suffered from kidney failure, and we were sad and shocked after hearing this news. After the newly passed law, we could only consider family members as donors, but when Omer approached them, they all refused. Hira’s elder brother, Jawad, had a matching kidney, but he declined due to his own fears. We started exploring various other options. Umer sought help from everyone, he went to Sri Lanka. He was reluctant to take help from India because he was a known figure there and at that time he didn’t want to share this news to anyone. During this time, we were introduced to a Christian guy, Nabeel, according to Umer’s family, he was supposed to marry Hira. He eventually converted to Islam and agreed to donate his kidney. However, when Hira’s AV fistula was damaged, the doctors suggested doing dialysis through neck. Umer got worried, he angrily demanded from Nabeel to donate his kidney. Hira’s mother opposed this and suggested searching for other donors. Umer was worried, however, he gave 2 crores to Hira for her treatment which was noticed by her brother as well. Umer was shattered in his last days because of his family’s treatment with him.”

Zareen Umer also said that Umer Sharif used to love his daughter Hira a lot and he didn’t want to live after her death. She further said, “Umer used to cry while watching emotional dramas or commercials especially Mahira’s commercial of Molty Foam”

Zard Patton Ka Bunn vs. Gentleman – First Impressions

Zard Patton Ka Bunn and Gentleman are two star-studded dramas that premiered on the same day and time but on different channels. After watching the opening episodes of both these serials it is clearer than ever that each one offers something different from the other one.

Here is looking at what these dramas offer and the different factors that will affect their viewership:

The Promotions

The producers and channel behind the drama serial Gentleman put in a lot of effort to promote it, using all means available to ensure it was the talk of the town before it even aired. On the other hand, the producers and channel behind Zard Patton Ka Bunn did not invest in promotions to the same extent. As a result, their drama did not receive as much attention before its airing.

Zard Patton Ka Bunn vs. Gentleman – First Impressions

The channel and social media team did not even do the bare minimum to promote Zard Patton Ka Bunn which was extremely disappointing especially because it has an ace team. Humayun Saeed and Green TV, on the other hand, were on a mission to capture public attention.

The Teams

Both the dramas have phenomenal teams; everyone involved has already made a name for themselves in the industry. The producers, directors, writers, and cast members are well-known for their phenomenal work.

However, Humayun Saeed rarely works in dramas therefore that is an added advantage for the Gentleman team. Yumna Zaidi is also at the peak of her popularity at the moment. On the other hand, Hamza Sohail does not have the same level of hype or popularity.

Sajal Aly is a talented actress who can hold the audience’s attention throughout an entire drama. She has a strong fan base and is known for her impactful performances. Although her previous project Kuch Ankahi did not receive as much popularity as Yumna Zaidi’s recent dramas, Sajal Aly’s talent and screen presence cannot be ignored. She brings a lot of value to any project she is a part of.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s previous drama Mere Pass Tum Ho was a massive hit and Mustafa Afridi’s Sang-e-Mah although widely watched was not as ‘popular’. Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is known for his dialogue writing and engagement value. Mustafa Afridi is widely recognized for his exceptional scriptwriting abilities, particularly due to his ability to capture unique stories and explore diverse cultures. Both of these writers possess individual strengths that make them stand out. It is clear which one has written more hit dramas.

The Channels

The channel on which a drama is aired is a crucial element that should not be overlooked. At times, it can make all the difference in how the show is received and perceived by the audience. Green TV is a new channel that has excelled in experimenting but is not a mainstream channel yet and does not have the same viewership as Hum. Even though Green TV has been the leader when it comes to innovation, the fact is that many of these experiments have failed as well. Till now, they have only had one major hit to their credit, which is Kabli Pulao. However, most of their dramas have a promising start but lose momentum, failing to gain popularity.

Zard Patton Ka Bunn vs. Gentleman – First Impressions

On the other hand, Hum TV, even with its limited promotions, has a solid audience. Apart from this, Kashf Foundation dramas on Hum have always offered quality and got the viewership.

It remains to be seen if Gentleman will be the next Kabli Pulao for Green TV! And we don’t know yet if Zard Patton Ka Bunn will get the same attention as Udaari.

First Impressions

The first episodes of both these dramas aired last night. Gentleman’s promotions promised an engaging watch therefore I tuned into Gentleman first. The issue with large-scale promotions is that they tend to create very high expectations among people. The first episode of Gentleman had many Bollywood references, which made me wonder if the producers were targeting the Indian audience. This audience plays a vital role in making or breaking Pakistani dramas nowadays. The episode was shot well and had a comical element. The characters’ dynamics were interesting. However, because of the detailed teasers and promos, there was nothing ‘new’ about this episode.

Zard Patton Ka Bunn vs. Gentleman – First Impressions

The viewers already got an elaborate introduction to these characters through the trailers and many of the scenes were already part of the trailer. This took the initial excitement away. This first episode also made it clear that Gentleman is yet another love story since that was the main theme of this episode. Khalil-ur-Rehman’s dramas usually grow on the viewers and get more interesting as the story progresses. I must admit that while this first episode did a fine job of introducing the viewers to the main characters, it did not blow me away. The Bollywood references and approach took away the newness from the characters too.

Zard Patton Ke Bunn’s first episode was written and executed brilliantly. It was ‘new’ and fast-paced. Since the teasers of the drama were not as elaborate as Gentleman, getting to meet the characters in this first episode was more exciting. Sajal Aly and Hamza Sohail were the stars of the show.

This first episode had strong supporting characters that stood out, was more ‘original’ than Gentleman’s first episode, and had quite a few refreshing elements to it. Both these dramas have strong leading ladies but the circumstances and personalities are poles apart. The father-daughter relationship in Zard Patton Ka Bunn was the most heartwarming element of the first episode. Each character’s relationship with each other stood out for all the right reasons and it was a great start to a drama which I am certain will have a great deal to offer.

Zard Patton Ka Bunn vs. Gentleman – First Impressions

In this first episode, the writer already touched upon many different aspects of the lives of these characters which came from totally different professions. As a viewer, I was instantly invested in every single track and found these stories relatable. Like every other Kashf Foundation drama, this one too must be based on true stories that will resonate with many. The fast pace of this episode and the variation in stories and characters make Zard Patton Ka Bunn a drama that deserves your time and attention. For those seeking both entertainment and substance, it’s a must-watch.

Substance over marketing

Promotional efforts heavily favored Gentleman, with extensive marketing and not to mention the OST. However, the first episode of Zard Patton Ka Bunn, so far has more views than Gentleman even though the hype surrounding Gentleman was way more! Also, Zard Patton Ka Bunn’s first episode had more substance. This indicates that, for a change, the viewers prioritized quality storytelling over appealing marketing tactics. Excessive marketing can sometimes backfire because it raises expectations and the initial episodes may not live up to these expectations.

Final Remarks

It is too early to make definitive predictions about which drama will hold public attention in the long run. Both, Zard Patton Ka Bunn and Gentleman have their strengths and distinct qualities as was apparent in their opening episodes, setting the stage for a compelling battle for viewership.

Zard Patton Ka Bunn has an edge of originality due to its fresh storytelling and relatable characters. If the upcoming episodes of the drama are as well-crafted as this one, the show might become an unexpected but clear winner.

Which one of these dramas has your undivided attention after watching these first episodes? Share your views.

Zard Patton Ka Bunn Episode 11 – Fans Unsatisfied By Meenu’s Reaction To Dr Nofil

Zard Patton Ka Bunn is a social drama focusing on major themes of lack of education and facilities in rural areas, the health care in shambles and how justice never gets served in Pakistan with everyone an accomplice in the situation. Zard Patton Ka Bunn has shown some really great characters which are close to reality and fans are connected with the story. The main leads Meenu and Dr Nofil had a good equation that went sour in this episode and rightfully so.

Zard Patton Ka Bunn Episode 11 - Fans Unsatisfied By Meenu's Reaction To Dr Nofil

Meenu accused Dr Nofil of Rani’s death and she did so in front of the whole village. The plot point has highlighted how deficiency of normal opportunities and resources affects a person mentally and they start exhibiting toxic behaviour towards others. Dr Nofil was horrified by the accusation and still decided to stick around for help.

Zara Yaad Kar Episode 24 – Azaab-e-Jaan!

Ohkay so, all you guys who’ve watched this episode, can you tell me if anything happened in this episode practically which contributed in the story in any way possible? This episode was a complete filler & I am so not understanding that what is it that is preventing the director from wrapping this drama up. Seriously, this past hour was the longest & the most boring hour of my life & I am so done with this drama that I am unable to pay attention to what the characters are saying & for this, I hold the writer & the director responsible completely!!!

Accha, to yani Haadi ka kaam sirf botiyan torna hi reh gaya hai, I mean the amount of food he has gulped down alone is equal to a month’s supply of food of any regular sized family in Pakistan. Looks like the only purpose of Haadi himself & everyone around him is to make sure he stays over-fed all the time. Haadi has once again proved a point that he has no brains of his own because he does what everyone around him tells him to do. For Haadi, Mahnoor is quite an immature person, so why did he take her gibberish so seriously that he ended up calling Uzma to tell her that she was doing a compromise in the name of marriage. I mean, talk about being stupid. Haadi knows that Uzma loves him & Haadi also knows that he can not reciprocate the love she has for him, so why did he turn himself into a ‘phappay kutni’ & ended up brain feeding Uzma that she was only compromising with Fahad which she definitely shouldn’t do. If Haadi was so concerned for Uzma, then he should’ve manned up a bit, should’ve thrown Mahnoor out of his life & should have gone to Uzma straight away & proposed to her because in anyway, she is more compatible to him than Mahnoor, his mental wavelength matches to Uzma more than Mahnoor’s & he also emotionally relies on Uzma more than he relies on Mahnoor, so what is stopping him? He knows that Uzma loves him, so he should love her back & get married to her & IF NOT, then there was absolutely NO point in telling her to not get married & move on in her life. Haadi can happily live a life of a dog stuck with a bone, but he definitely doesn’t have a right to stop Uzma from moving on!!!

Seriously, it seems like Gaiti ki puri family sirf English aur Urdu ki taangain torne ke liye hi bethi hui hai!!! The coverage that Gaiti’s family got was so out of the place & unnecessary that I found myself reaching out to my cell phone during their scenes. I guess the director should have known better because IF we were interested in seeing a ‘realistic portrayal’ of a political scenario, we could’ve easily switched to any Pakistani News Channel because that’s where we would’ve gotten an authentic dosage of politics but guess what Ms. Director, everything that you showed us through Gaiti’s track didn’t spark an interest because this drama was based on something entirely different & I am still having a hard time in developing in interest in Gaiti’s life as a politician because this has nothing to do with the original story & this track seems to be a part of an entirely different drama. I don’t really understand how the director will wrap this particular track up because it just isn’t related to the main theme of the drama. We all know that Gaiti is an honest person & she is striving to be an even better politician with values & morals, but then what’s the point of this entire political scenario which is nothing but just a filler, because like I said, is se behtar tha ke hum News Channels hi dekh lete aggar drama mai politics hi dekhni thin to.

Ufff Aneesa aur uska falsafa. I find it actually quite amusing that every time Aneesa blurts a falsafa, the director zooms in the frame of the person who happens to be her listener, as if her falsafa is making an impact in someone’s life, which most certainly is not the case because if her falsafa had an ounce of impact, it would’ve changed Mahnoor’s behavior. Alright, we already know that Mahnoor hasn’t changed & Haadi & Aneesa believe in helping her, so what’s next? What else? We watched this drama in a hope to see the consequences that Mahnoor will face but here, she seems dheet than ever & besharam than ever, so what’s the point???

Anoushay is mentally disturbed & her speech about how her father didn’t give her much time didn’t strike a chord because her story also wasn’t a part of the main plot of the drama & her late entry has only turned her into a drama-crasher, so nope, I am not interested in knowing what her back-story was & why she is so annoying. She is ready to get married to an uncle like Waqar, that’s pretty self-explanatory so we don’t need to see or know anything else!!!

Please guys, if you have any idea, do let me know when does this torture end because I have lost the last bit of patience I had with this drama & at this point, I am most certainly not interested to see how things will end between all these pathetic characters!!! Amna Nawaz Khan commented in the initial reviews that this story will become quite interesting, so it looks like I watched the entire drama in a ‘hope’ for something that wasn’t meant to be. I hope that she comments now & explains what is happening & why does it look like we’re watching a second season of this drama? We need an explanation because when they expect us to invest our time in their mindless dramas, then they owe us an explanation & to some extent an apology too!!! Please share your thoughts about this pathetic filler episode of Zara Yaad Kar & please say a prayer for my patience & for the ending of this drama as well!!!

Zara Yaad Kar – Episode 22!

Ohkay so, this episode made me roll my eyes so bad that they’re hurting now. Seriously, what has gone into the writer’s head to be doing this to us & to his characters too? It was just as ridiculous as being a Halala story that now the writer turned it into a patch-up-over-gol-gappa story, like seriously, break us free from this misery as we’re done with it!!!

It is actually quite bizarre seeing Aneesa rooting for Mahnoor & Haadi’s patch up. May I ask, where did that Aneesa go who was all about dignity & pride, who was all about preaching self-respect to Mahnoor? When did she become so ‘cool’ & ‘chilled’ about this entire Halala scenario that she has subtly started pressurizing Haadi & is trying to sweet-talk him into getting married to Mahnoor again using her boring falsafa?

I still don’t understand what changed in Mahnoor to feel that Haadi is the one & she can not live without him, because the way she is now, doesn’t show that she went through a phase of feeling remorse or regret over what she has done. She is still as beghairat & as dheet as she was before when she was flirting with a na-mehram while being married to Haadi, so what actually changed in her after her divorce? I still don’t get it. Chalo, if the writer was too busy in weaving the falsafa, the least he could’ve done is show some change in Mahnoor’s attitude where she was regretful & embarrassed for her mistakes, but she became far more dheet & ziddi after her divorce, so what’s the point of this entire situation? After dragging this drama for months, are they going to show us a split-second regret that Mahnoor will feel in the last minute of the last episode? Will that be enough of a redemption or will that be enough of a punishment for her? I feel Mahnoor has been pampered by her mother & her ex-husband so much that she has forgotten what she has done & what she put them through, that is why, in stead of feeling sorry for others or feeling ashamed for her actions, she is seen blaming Haadi for putting her through misery because he has been unable to find a beghairat for her to get married to her temporarily!!!

‘Meinne larki ho ke itni koshish kar li’, err correction, Mahnoor should’ve said ‘Meinne beghairat ho ke itni koshish kar li’ because the way she speaks about Halala so casually only sheds a light on her level of beghairti. Seriously, this drama is making me sick to a point where I feel like throwing up. Did the writer actually believe that we’ll have a smile on our face when we’ll be seeing Mahnoor & Haadi sharing a sweet Halala talk over a gol gappa session with a pleasant music playing in the background? Seriously, there’s a limit to every joke but this one has gone beyond that point. Also, I am not sure why the writer made every girl dump & every pathetic male character superior in this drama to a point where every other girl is drooling over a man or two. Anoushay herself caught Waqar red-handed but there she is, with no standard & no self-respect that despite finding out about Waqar’s reality, she is ready to get married to him & then we already have a self-explanatory character of Mahnoor who has taken beghairti to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL!!!

Seems like Haadi is pretty comfortable with this entire scenario that is why he was seen sharing a laugh with Mahnoor & looked at her with an affection in his eyes as if he scored a big win by having a girl like her fall in love with him. Mahnoor didn’t admit that she was in love with Haadi but he is so blind that he couldn’t see it. Also quite casually Haadi lied to Mahnoor that he has never met Uzma after he left her home, so what’s the point of getting married to Mahnoor & putting up with her nasty tantrums when he just can not be honest with her & when he knows that she will never understand him as she is so full of herself & her brain is a size of a peanut or may be smaller? After enjoying gol-gappas with Mahnoor, Haadi was seen thinking about Uzma & not only that he called her too. I don’t really understand why every single character in this drama is pretentious, like they are pretentious to a point where they come across as liars. Haadi pretends in front of Mahnoor that he is happy that she is back. Mahnoor is pretending in front of Haadi that she loves him & wants to get back with him because she can not live without him. Uzma is pretending that she is happy with the proposal of Fahad. Waqar is pretending to be a shareef tareen admi on the Earth, like seriously, they are a bunch of liars who are too afraid to admit their reality, even to themselves & that’s about it!!!

Uzma’s getting engaged & Gaiti has become a politician, taaliyan. Oh, I must say, that gol-gappa joint is quite famous because looks like every other couple in this drama comes across each other at the same spot, as previously it was Mahnoor & Waqar’s duo that met Haadi & Uzma, now it was Waqar & Anoushay’s duo that saw Mahnoor & Haadi. I still am not finding the involvement of Anoushay & her developing interest in this entire situation justified & rational. She is just an outsider so I don’t really understand why she is getting so affected by whatever Haadi’s doing. The only good few seconds of this episode belonged to Mr. Fayyaz, who in a very few words told Haadi that he was a beghairat to be arranging a Halala for his friend’s wife, I so wish Haadi had the spine to tell Fayyaz that he was the one who wanted a guy for his wife & not his friend, because I am sure he would’ve showed Haadi his right place!!!

Anyways, this episode was just a filler & I am actually furious that at this stage of the drama, in stead of wrapping it up, the director is dragging it & stretching it like a tasteless chewing gum which is played with in the last minutes before it is dumped into the dustbin. The preview of the next episode showed that Anoushay will be poking her unwanted nose in Haadi’s business too. I am not sure if her good acting would’ve made a difference but yes, the girl playing the character of Anoushay is simply annoying & her dialogue delivery is so bad that the attempt of the director to make her the integral part of the drama infuriates me even more!!! Please share your thoughts about this beghairti-filled episode of Zara Yaad Kar.

Zara Yaad Kar – Episode 21!

Ohkay so, I am pretty sure that the drama has lost its purpose. There’s absolutely nothing that happened in this episode that contributed much to the story & everything at this point has started to look meaningless. Where Mahnoor should accept that she’s shameless, Haadi should also accept that he is gutless & a coward too!

I am amazed at Aneesa’s approach towards Mahnoor’s shamelessness, I actually thought that she would question her daughter because she returned home after 3-4 ‘nights’ & in a condition that would make anyone wonder what she went through but all Aneesa showed concerned about was whether Mahnoor got married or not. I don’t think Aneesa’s sarcastic one-liners are serving any purpose now & sadly, they now only look like an attempt by the writer to show how deep his own thinking is. Mahnoor has crossed all the limits so seeing Aneesa expecting that her one-liners will have any effect on dheeeeeeeeeeeeeeet Mahnoor makes her look like a bigger fool in this situation.

Haadi found out the truth that Mahnoor was now getting married to Waqar to which Mahnoor’s response was ‘shadi to karni hi thi, boss se karoon yan Waqar se’, making it sound so silly like she was out to buy a lawn suit so she’s like ‘suit to lena hi tha, Khaadi se loon yan Gul Ahmed se’, like seriously? This whole idea of switching partners is cringe worthy already & to see it being elaborated with the usage of such dialogues makes it puke-worthy actually. It is actually quite amusing that Mahnoor still hasn’t learned her lesson because she made it all about Haadi & tried to make him feel guilty that she endured the beating of her temporary potential sautan only because of him, like seriously, for how long is she going to put blame on others for her own faults & mistakes & what surprised me was Haadi’s reaction on that entire situation where he drank a gallon of water, left her place, drove the car & recalled everything that Mahnoor said on the road & then scurried to Uzma like a loser. I think in stead of going to Uzma’s place, Haadi should’ve gone to Nadra’s office to tell them that he needed to change his gender on his ID card, because he mistook himself for a ‘male’, which he clearly is not since he’s a mazloom aurat in reality!

Well, Uzma welcomed Haadi cordially & said everything to him which actually looked like a closure that she was looking for before her husband-to-be arrived. ‘Mohabbat uske liye bacha ke rakhni chahiye jo deserve karta ho’, finally, Uzma told Haadi the truth & more than telling it to him, she was feeding it to herself too because she knows that she has to come out of her past & snap out of her love for Haadi & move on. It is actually good that the character that started off as a weakling has emerged to be quite dignified & strong & probably the only good thing about this drama & guess what, Haadi didn’t drink a gallon of water though he demanded it, left her place, drove the car & recalled everything what Uzma said on the road & scurried to his house like a coward. I mean doesn’t Haadi get tired of being so lifeless & monotonous? I mean why couldn’t he tell Uzma straight away that she shouldn’t get married & that he was tired of Mahnoor & her adventures & wanted to get rid of it? I think Haadi is also responsible for what Mahnoor is doing because if he had ended everything with her gracefully, she wouldn’t have become so desperate to be searching for a tom, dick & harry to get married to him in order to get back with Haadi. Haadi gave Mahnoor a green signal, that is why she went on a temporary husband hunting spree, which makes Haadi look as selfish as Mahnoor is. When this drama began the writer tried to show that a male can be like Haadi too, who believes in giving freedom to his wife & who doesn’t believe in enforcing his own thought process (if any) on his partner, but after the drama progressed, that exact approach of the writer started making Haadi look like a loser & unmanly at that too!

I honestly am not feeling the entire Anoushay-Haadi-Waqar scenario. I am not really sure why things have started revolving around Anoushay as if she’s a main lead because everything looks like a forced attempt & unrealistic at that too as all of a sudden she has become a part of this entire mess & now Haadi is trying to be her savior. It is quite obvious that the writer wanted to establish a ground for Haadi & Anoushay’s union in the future, therefore he made Anoushay related to the people who have ruined Haadi’s past only for her to become sympathetic towards him. Also, where is Gaiti? Just when this question popped up in my mind, we got to see a split second ramp walk of Gaiti, which left me wondering what was the point of that entire shot? Was it only to inform us that Gaiti is alive & kickin’ or was it a mistake committed by the editor where he unconsciously added that second-long walk of her? We saw how clingy Gaiti was so it is actually quite unbelievable that she hasn’t tried to get in contact with Waqar or hasn’t sent her spies to track down where he is & why isn’t he returning her calls? Also, now that Anoushay has occupied the front seat in Waqar’s car ‘out of nowhere’, it makes me wonder why did the writer & the director put us up with the OTT & unrealistic family of Mehtab Deswali? Why did they put us up with Gaiti’s fake Urdu/English accent & those blood-boiling scenes where Gaiti would stammer like a toddler who’s learning how to talk? What was the point of adding that political dimension to the drama when it had no purpose to serve? I am not sure but may be after the drama went on-air, they must’ve decided to cut down on that political aspect of the story in order to save themselves from infuriating anyone!

Anyways, the preview of the next episode seemed boring too & once again, Anoushay will be getting the details of Haadi’s life which she should not be concerned about but the writer & the director are doing everything to push her character & her existence down our throats without any reason. Haadi is a loser & I guess he is so spineless that he is waiting for any girl to propose him, which he will ‘silently’ accept, since he has no thought process & no stand of his own & he wants people to take decisions for him so I am sure this is the reason why Anoushay is getting so much information about Haadi as in the end, she will sympathize with him & will end up proposing him & they will live silently ever after! Anyways, please share your thoughts about this boring episode of Zara Yaad Kar.

Zara Yaad Kar – Episode 20!

Yaaaaaaaawwwwwnnnnnnnnn, oh sorry, for a second the sleep that this episode inflicted upon me made me forget that I always start my reviews with ohkay so. Ohkay so, I am sorry to say that this drama has turned into a joke. There is so much falsafa going on that it hardly pays off because the situations are so messed up that this amount of falsafa seems like a forced attempt of making this story & the situations look enticing, which they sadly are not.

While I couldn’t recover myself from the laughter fit seeing Mahnoor’s bruises that she got from her previous failed Nikkah, she made me laugh out loud even more because there she was preparing for a new adventure of her life, with a new man, on a new day, for a new Nikkah. Oh well, I have so much more to say about this character but I think I will have to cross the line of decency in order to explain her characterless-ness, so for now I will contain myself & just say that she is one of those mentally sick girls who have no purpose in life & who gel really well with the guys, no matter what shape & size they come in. I mean one actually has to be quite ‘besharam’ to be toing & froing between men like a shuttlecock. I think the writers of Besharam & Zara Yaad Kar switched the titles of these dramas by mistake because if there’s one drama that could endorse the title of Besharam flawlessly was actually this drama that we now know as Zara Yaad Kar!

Hmmm, not sure why the writer is trying to make us feel for the character of Anoushay that too after we’ve survived this journey for 19-20 weeks? Her candidness with Haadi was enough to put us off that the director assumed that her flat acting would help the situation. The entire conversation that Haadi & Anoushay had about ‘love’ served no purpose at all & looked like a forced attempt of filling in the 40 minutes of an episode. Haadi has always been quite a reserved & shy person, so to see him acting totally unlike him in front of Anoushay didn’t really make much sense. Since the beginning, we have seen Haadi as someone who would always think twice before speaking & would choose to stay silent on the things he doesn’t want to concern himself with or even at the things that do concern him like his divorce, but the way his body language & attitude changed in front of Anoushay made me feel like I was watching Haider of Besharam in stead of Haadi of Zara Yaad Kar. I say this because the way Haadi snapped at Anoushay & told her to shut up after hearing Waqar’s name was so unlike him, like he would listen to Mahnoor talk about her temporary honeymoon in London silently so how did he find it in him to tell Anoushay to shut up just at a slight mention of Waqar? This is not how this bhola bhala, dheela dhala Haadi is meant to be like!

Well, Mahnoor was so busy being a shuttlecock that she forgot to inform her mother that her temporary son-in-law would now be Waqar & not Mahnoor’s boss, lol. She was perfectly fine with what Umar Din told her about Waqar because this is exactly what she wants too. I am amazed that now when she is getting an opportunity to be with Waqar, she still has the divorce on her mind. I find it hard to understand that what did actually change in those couple of weeks after her divorce from Haadi that she realized that he was the one for her, she can’t be without him therefore she was ready to go to such lengths like temporary marriage(s) to get back with him? I don’t recall that they showed us Mahnoor thinking on those lines & reflecting upon on her mistake of leaving Haadi & regretting her decision too of getting a divorce from him? The sudden shift in her thinking is actually unjustified & now seeing her committing one mistake after another & getting beaten up by one woman after another has turned this entire situation in a joke to be honest.

Hmmm, I have always liked how they used the OST lyrics to match the emotional state of the characters, but this time around I actually had a good laugh because when Uzma sneaked through the smallest window in the world to catch a glimpse of Haadi’s car, the words that echoed in the background were ‘Ghutti Ghutti Si’, which actually enforced the feelings that I have had about Uzma, where I always find her ‘ghutti hui’, like where I have found her quite lifeless since the beginning, so no wonder why those lyrics actually hit home for me. The conversation she had with Ikhtiyaar Sahab about Haadi was so new right? (coughing sarcasm). I think this father-daughter duo needs to snap out of their fixation with Haadi because he is no more a part of their lives!

Well, I didn’t find the twist of Anoushay being associated with Waqar justified at all. For the last few months, he was with Gaiti in Umarkot & he was putting all the efforts in winning her over, so when did he get the time to have an affair with Anoushay as well? Yes, I can understand that Anoushay might’ve been a student at the university where Waqar was a teacher but to see a sudden development of this sort didn’t really sit well with me & not only that, the way everything got wrapped up in this episode actually made it look like a joke where Anoushay’s relationship began & ended with Waqar, Haadi got to know about it, he blurted the truth about Waqar, Anoushay’s grandmother got a heart-attack, she recovered & in the meanwhile, Anoushay raided Waqar’s home & threw Mahnoor out as well. LOL! In stead of wasting time on meaningless closeups of doors, windows, roads & cars, if they had taken a time to develop this angle, I am sure it wouldn’t have seemed so haphazard & out of the blue. I think Mahnoor must’ve had a first-hand & a thrilling experience of what déjà vu is like. I think Mahnoor should understand that temporary Nikkahs are not her thing, lol but I am glad that she got bistiofied twice, but may be 10 rounds of this amount of bezati are not enough for a dheet larki like her but anyways, something is better than nothing, eh!

Well, I guess this drama has come to a point where it is testing my patience now & I am losing it real quick & more than that, the situations & the characters have stopped making any sense & I don’t see the purpose of this drama anymore because I don’t see Mahnoor realizing her mistakes or Haadi realizing that Mahnoor is the wrong choice. I somehow feel the emotions & the purpose are getting lost in this meaningless stretching & there isn’t much substance in the writing to back the emotions that the characters must be feeling, like till date we’re left with our imagination to figure out what these characters are going through & even the biggest aspect, that is Mahnoor realizing Haadi’s importance & worth hasn’t been conveyed so far, so I guess it’s about time that they should wrap it up ASAP before it turns into a bigger joke. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Zara Yaad Kar.

Zara Yaad Kar – Episode 19!

Ohkay so, this episode of Zara Yaad Kar was good. It showed some developments but I feel it’s about time that they should move the story forward at a good pace & reach to the conclusion soon because a few of the situations have started to seem repetitive & don’t really contribute in the progress of the story.

Uzma was definitely having a hard time after Haadi left because she has gotten used to the idea of having him around. When she entered his room, she got overwhelmed because everything in that room reminded her of him. Even Ikhtiyaar Sahab felt the void that came along Haadi’s departure. Ikhtiyaar Sahab actually knows the reason why Uzma took this decision & he respects that, which is actually good to see. A father like Ikhtiyaar is a rarity too because when he learned that Uzma liked Haadi, he gave her his consent but when he understood that the emotional havoc in Haadi’s life was affecting Uzma, he allowed her to do what she deemed fit. I like the confidence Ikhtiyaar Sahab has in his daughter because he trusts her & more than that, he has a complete faith in his wife’s upbringing.

I am not sure if I understood Aneesa this time around. She is well aware of how everything that Mahnoor is doing will haunt Haadi in the future, but she has decided to go with the flow & let Mahnoor take charge of the situation. I think for once, in stead of being a mother of Mahnoor, Aneesa should’ve thought about Haadi as his aunt. Yes, she did try to make him cautious of what he might feel in the future but the way she showed her Mahnoor’s jewelry & the wrist watch that she had bought for him made me feel that unwillingly & unconsciously, she was pressurizing Haadi to accept Mahnoor no matter what. I do like her character a lot & I like her profound thoughts & sayings, but I am not sure if her approach of becoming a mere spectator in this entire situation is right.

Just when I think that Mahnoor can’t surprise me more, she hits a new low & stoops to a lower level. Mahnoor’s candidness with her boss actually made me feel disgusted. For the first time, I strongly felt that Mahnoor was mentally sick because no girl can be so shameless & selfish. She was over the moon with the amount her boss paid for the things she bought in one go & even before getting married & divorced, she was concerned if she’ll have to return those gifts to him. The way Mahnoor seemed happy & content with everything that her boss had planned for them made me dislike her even more because more than him, she seemed to be in a hurry of getting married to him as she was definitely ecstatic about the flight that she had to catch. Seriously, I think I will run out of words while describing her character & I don’t think anything that she will go through will make me feel for her. Mahnoor’s character has started to irritate me I it will be harder to review her bits in the episodes to come!

Gaiti has won the elections & Mehtab has returned. His thoughts about education & power showed how our politicians only believe in ruling the people without empowering themselves with the education first. Gaiti is different but I am not sure if she’ll be able to abide by her principles under Mehtab’s supervision because obviously, Mehtab will treat Gaiti as just a face of his party but he will make sure that in the end, he is the one who does the decision making!

Haadi went to Uzma again like a loser. What was Haadi expecting? Everything will be fun & games & Mahnoor will come back to him & they will start living in some lala-land? Why was he so surprised that he was actually feeling a pain. I liked how just in one sentence Uzma told him what he should do. He claims to love Mahnoor with all his heart, so she told him to let his heart guide him the next time because it is his heart that is forcing him to put up with everything that Mahnoor is throwing at him & he doesn’t deserve any sympathy because he is responsible for putting himself in this situation. I must say, over the time I have developed a liking for Uzma’s character because she is a girl who has a character & more than that, has a control over her mind & heart.

Well, the episode ended at a perfect note. Mahnoor got what she deserved & I hope this is not the end of it. She needs a reality check & she needs a lot of it to wake up & smell the coffee that not everything revolves around her & she is not going to be the center of everyone’s universe. Haadi might be a loser but the others have some spine to save what belongs to them & not everyone is going to allow her to play with their lives. Waqar made the entry at the right time & I guess now Mahnoor will forget everything about Haadi & her love for him & will happily get married to Waqar, but I really hope it’s not the end of her sufferings!!! Zara Yaad Kar – Episode 18!

Ohkay so, this episode of Zara Yaad Kar was slow but the transition that it showed related to Haadi’s feelings made up for it. Everything that Haadi was going through was covered brilliantly & it actually took a few dialogues & a few expressions to elaborate, which sheds a light on the fact that it was a result of an intelligent writing, where the writer has a know-how of how to translate the emotions on-screen perfectly.

Haadi is in denial, that is why he is mistaking Mahnoor’s selfishness to be her love. In the initial part of the episode, where Mahnoor informed Haadi about the proposal she got for a temporary marriage, it disturbed Haadi & that is why he went straight to Uzma to tell her what he was feeling but I was actually taken aback with how Haadi defended Mahnoor in front of Uzma saying that she loves him a lot & has started to be considerate of his feelings. Haadi really needs to make up his mind & stop bothering Uzma. For the first time, I liked how Uzma stood firm on her decision & didn’t melt away after seeing Haadi in a predicament. Uzma has decided that he has to go & she is making sure to let him know that no matter what happens or no matter what he is going through, he has to leave & I think this is in the best interest of Uzma because Haadi has stopped being courteous to her, that is why he just shows up at her door step with his emotional luggage expecting her to console him, without even giving thinking for a second that of all that might make Uzma uncomfortable too.

Even though I loved seeing Waqar in that condition, I am not sure if the way everything that happened was established properly or not. Mehtab Deswali & his son fled & now when Gaiti’s brother has returned, he has thrown Waqar out of Gaiti’s life, so if he was so concerned, why wasn’t he in contact with his sister throughout & what has made him turn against Waqar so much? I don’t really understand how both the father & the brother gave Gaiti such a freehand to spend a lot of time with Waqar because in such families, they always have such servants whose families have been serving them for generations, so I guess it would’ve made much more sense if they had shown that along with Waqar, Mehtab made some more loyal & responsible servant of his in-charge of Gaiti’s activities too in order to protect her from landing herself in trouble, especially when it was the first time that she was going to be in Umarkot to contest in the elections.

Mahnoor has crossed all the boundaries of humility but I am not sure if she understands what this temporary marriage with her boss actually means because when she heard her boss hitting on her shamelessly, she became frazzled, so I am not sure if she actually understands the intentions of her boss because if she doesn’t, it wouldn’t make much sense because being immature is one thing, being stupid is another & I don’t think a girl who can gamble with her life so casually can be so stupid to not understand that her boss is not doing a favor on her for free & he is expecting her dignity in return. Well, it was good to know that at least Mahnoor understood that everything was going to be hard on Haadi, that is why she told him that she’ll get back in contact with him after she will get divorced.

Haadi was trying hard to control himself & he was holding onto the last bit of courage he had in him to grasp what Mahnoor was saying but then he just lost it & realized that all this was too hard on him but then again, I don’t really feel much for him because he himself is allowing Mahnoor to do this to him. I actually laughed when Uzma suggested him to take a sleeping pill & rest because even she could see that he wasn’t being himself & he wasn’t in his senses because all that Mahnoor said to him was so much for him to bear that he couldn’t cope up with it. I must say, the transition of Haadi’s feelings from someone who was trying hard to be strong to someone who couldn’t understand what was happening, was shown brilliantly.

Haadi has moved out of Uzma’s place & we saw a new entry too. Not sure if the new entry is going to play an important role or what because honestly speaking, she got introduced in the drama quite late so I really don’t want to see the focus of the story shifting to something that doesn’t hold much importance anyways because right now I am actually looking forward to the ending because the pace of the drama has become quite slow & it is becoming hard to keep my interest alive in the show.

The preview of the next episode didn’t promise much too, so I am dreading that it will be another one of those slow episodes too. I guess it’s a high time that this drama should be wrapped up because all the lessons have been conveyed & all there’s left in it to be seen is the ending that all the characters will get. I really hope that Mahnoor suffers & lives her life in a regret & I hope that Uzma finds her happy ending. I am not sure what to make of Haadi’s character because the way he is encouraging Mahnoor’s wrongdoing in a hope to win her back doesn’t allow me to sympathize with him but having said that, I will admit that Zahid Ahmed has acted brilliantly as Haadi & in this episode in particular, he conveyed his feelings perfectly. Zara Yaad Kar – Episode 17!

Ohkay so, this episode of Zara Yaad Kar was slow & didn’t offer much except a few conversations that were written really well. I think it’s time to move the story forward as it’s been stagnant for quite a while now. We have seen & we understand everyone’s sufferings too but it’s time to move towards the conclusion because the slow pace is not helping the situation in anyway.

Haadi has decided to move out & he understands that this is what Mahnoor wants & this is what Uzma wants too. Mahnoor’s relaxation goes to show how comfortable she is with what she has done because she knows that she’s not the one picking up the pieces, it is Haadi who’s being forced to do that on her behalf. “Pata nahi tum ghalti kisay keh rahi ho, mohabbat ko yan bewafai ko”, Haadi is feeling quite burdened by Mahnoor’s display of indifference to this situation because he is unable to wrap his head around the fact that someone can be so incourteous. Mahnoor is a spoiled brat & Haadi should understand that by now because the way she is not taking a responsibility of the mess that she has created really calls for some serious conversation with her. Haadi’s subtle hints aren’t a slap enough on her face & she knows that Haadi being a softie will never bring their past up & the moment he tries, Mahnoor silences him up. “Bewafai kalank hoti hai, jo karta hai uske liye bhi aur jiss ke saath hoti hai uske liye bhi”, Haadi did try to make Mahnoor understand that her attitude was annoying Haadi but if only she’d understand.

Aneesa lost hope in Mahnoor & gave up on her long time ago but Haadi’s submissiveness is what has made her aloof to this entire situation completely because she never expected him to surrender so easily in front of Mahnoor. Aneesa believes that Haadi is blind that he is once again falling into this trap with his eyes & brains shut, that’s why she decided to help Mahnoor out as she wants to get over with this ordeal as soon as possible. “Larkiyon ki keemat unki haya hoti hai beta, behaya to koriyon mai hi bikti hain”, Aneesa said it all one more time. It is sad that she knows that her daughter has ruined her entire life, that’s why every step, every move that she will make from now on will only mean that she’s digging a deeper hole for herself, that’s why Aneesa has strengthened herself & has brought herself to a point where she is not concerned with how Mahnoor’s life will turn out to be.

Mahnoor’s boss finally made the move & proposed to her. I must say the way Halala was discussed so casually throughout this episode was quite disturbing. Well, the way Mahnoor was caught off-guard was quite amusing, she should know that now she’s open to such sort of advances & such treatment too, so her boss’s shameless proposal shouldn’t concern her as she’s the one who chose this for herself. I wish as the time goes by & as her life unfolds, she understands how stupid she was & realizes her mistakes!!!

The conversation between Haadi & Uzma was quite nice & was probably the best bit of the episode for me. Haadi doesn’t want to go but since he is so indecisive, he wants Uzma to stop him once & make that decision for him. Haadi already has a lot on his plate & moving out of his comfort zone means he’ll lose just everything & will have to start from scratch, which he isn’t looking forward to. That aspect & those feelings were conveyed through the acting, expressions, dialogues perfectly. Uzma wants to distance herself & that’s why she has taken a firm stand but Haadi is trying to convince her, which made me feel for him.

Well, the preview of the next episode suggested that Mahnoor will accept her boss’s proposal & will tell Haadi to do something about it too, not sure if she was challenging him or was trying to make him strong since she knows it will be hard on Haadi. I enjoyed seeing the karma’s spin on Waqar. Gaiti’s brother is back & he took a stand for his sister but I am sure Gaiti will side by Waqar since she’s so much in love with him. Anyways, this episode was quite slow. I hope the pace picks up as I’m already looking forward to the ending. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Zara Yaad Kar.

Zara Yaad Kar – Episode 16!

Ohkay so, this episode was slow yet interesting. There were a lot of thought provoking conversations in this episode too & like we all expected, this is the charm of Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s scripts where he adds depth to the situations using the magic of the words & it’s good to see the drama doing well at this stage.

Mahnoor has proved it once again that she is not only selfish but emotionally absent too. If there’s one person she cares about, it is her own-self because if she had considered what Haadi will go through before their divorce or if she had considered what he must be going through after the divorce, she would’ve never ever played with his feelings & her own dignity like that. Mahnoor is one of a kind & that too in a bad way because no girl would do this to anyone else or herself either.

I must say, I am thoroughly disappointed in Haadi. I thought this divorce was enough for him to realize that Mahnoor never deserved him & he was better off without a selfish person like her. Yes, I do agree that one can love someone unconditionally but to think about getting back with someone after the divorce seems a bit too much. I totally agree to the notion of Aneesa about him where she referred to him as a hopeless guy. Aneesa knew that her daughter was at fault but she was more disappointed to find out that Haadi was justifying her fault by allowing her to rule him without having any association with him. Haadi has put himself in this misery because he is allowing Mahnoor to dominate him as if he has no brains of his own & he is her minion. If he wanted, he could’ve stopped her right away but he let her walk her way back in his life & I am sure it won’t take too long before she will walk all over him once again but now if this happens, I think Haadi will deserve it too. He really needs to have his heart broken again & again for him to realize how wrong he is.

Mahnoor doesn’t understand the gravity of the situation & she thinks putting a blame on others for her own mistakes is the way to go. First she blamed Haadi for making her fall out of love for him but she never owned her mistake that she fell for Waqar without having any reasons to & now once again she did the same thing by putting a blame on Uzma that it was because of her letter that Mahnoor ended up demanding divorce from Haadi. I don’t really understand why Haadi questioned Uzma about the letter she wrote where she ordered him to leave the room as soon as possible, Haadi has known Mahnoor for quite a while now, so why was it so hard for him to put two & two together & understand that definitely Mahnoor must’ve said something to Uzma that pushed Uzma to this point. It is like Haadi is also like one of those who don’t really want to face the problem & thinks that closing his eyes tightly will assure that everything will be fine. I actually feel that Haadi is trying really hard to accept everything that is happening but the way he is being submissive of Mahnoor’s demands is making him look quite weak. There’s a difference between loving someone selflessly & being weak & Haadi isn’t depicting a selfless love here.

Mahnoor thinks Halala is the right option for her but it was good to see that her mother was there to tell her the difference between shamelessness & Halala. “Waqar ko hi dhoondh lo, barbaad kar ke gaya hai to chalo jatay jatay abaad kar jaye tumhe”. Aneesa tried to make Mahnoor realize that she needs to sort this mess out & the only person that could help her will be Waqar because he is also responsible for the step Mahnoor took but I am actually dreading by thinking that may be, there’s a possibility of this drama becoming one of those Halala stories because when I saw the OST, I thought Mahnoor will get married to Waqar but I am not sure if she will get married to him only to part ways with him so that she can get back with Haadi. I hope that’s not the case & when she gets married, Haadi realizes how hard it will be to accept her back & he refuses to do that because practically, this is exactly what he should do. Mahnoor can not & should not have things her way.

“Mai aik larki hoon, isi liye kahoongi ke kar lijiye, kisi dusri larki ki aabroo ka sawal hai.”
“Ikhtiyaar sahab se poochoon?”
“Wo bhi kahainge ke kar lijiye, kyunke kisi dusre ki beti ka sawal hai”

Haadi knows that Uzma will never instigate him to leave Mahnoor & she will only support Mahnoor’s stance, despite being honest & truthful because she will also consider how Haadi still is in love with Mahnoor. It was like he only went there to hear what he wanted to. I feel Haadi has always relied heavily on Uzma’s opinions but in the end has always done what he has deemed fit, so this time around too, his urge to get an advice from Uzma didn’t seem justified because it was so obvious that he will do what his heart will tell him & that is already in the favor of Mahnoor. If Haadi had paid attention to what Uzma said, he would’ve understood the underlying message that Uzma only suggested getting back with Mahnoor because her values didn’t allow her to speak against a girl on human grounds but in general she didn’t mean it because any sane person would always suggest leaving the deceiving person behind & moving on.

Overall, this episode was pretty decent. Gaitiara & Waqar’s scenes are not sparking an interest & they end up looking like fillers. Gaiti is head over heels in love with Waqar & Waqar is making the most of it, so there’s nothing more to that. Sana Javed has really done justice to Mahnoor, it is so obvious that she’s into her character & that’s why she has succeeded in making us all hate Mahnoor’s character. Yumna Zaidi as Uzma is equally good too & for the first time, I felt for Uzma a lot, she is suffering because she can see that Haadi is suffering too. Her question about Haadi still being in love with Mahnoor & her expressions after she got Haadi’s answer told how hard it was for her to accept it. Zahid Ahmed has done a great job too but in general I am disappointed at Haadi’s display of weakness in this episode. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Zara Yaad Kar.

Zara Yaad Kar – Episode 15!

Ohkay so, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode of Zara Yaad Kar & I guess for me, after a very long time, this was one of the finest episode of this drama because the portrayal of human emotions was realistic & top-notch. Each & everything that all the characters said actually showed how the thought process of the humans work in different circumstances & this is what I enjoyed watching the most.

Uzma has gotten a green signal from her father that he wouldn’t mind seeing Haadi as her life partner because he knows that in Mahnoor-Haadi divorce, Haadi was the sincere one & he was a truthful person. Uzma obviously didn’t get her hopes high because even though she still loves Haadi, she thinks of it as her mistake & she also believes that there are a lot of emotional hurdles in between that both of them will have to overcome if they decide to be with each other. Uzma is trying hard to maintain a distance from Haadi but the conversation with her father did make her a little hopeful, that’s why when she opened the door for Haadi, she had a smile on her face only to find out that her fears were being confirmed. What Haadi told Uzma was something she knew could happen but it disturbed her a great deal because Uzma as a girl herself can not wrap her head around the mentality of a girl like Mahnoor. Uzma knew that Haadi was now getting confused & even though he was heart-broken, all these gestures that he was doing for Mahnoor unconsciously & unwillingly only told a story of how much he still loved her. Uzma told Haadi to forgive Mahnoor because she knew that may be this is exactly what Haadi wanted to hear too but had no courage to bring himself to that point where he’d accept that may be forgiving Mahnoor & giving her a second chance was an option too. Even though, everything that was said was subtle but I so wish the word ‘halala’ wasn’t thrown away so casually. I most certainly expected a little better from Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, since his dialogues are the best part about his scripts & they make quite an impact, so I wish he hadn’t taken the conversation that further. The point that Uzma made about forgiving Mahnoor was enough & quite elaborate, so I didn’t see the point of throwing a light on that word because it isn’t as simple of a deal that our writers these days make it look like because in reality it is more like a punishment for both the husband & wife who part their ways without thinking things through & understanding the gravity of the situation.

Well, Waqar finally showed what he is made of. I am sure if Gaiti wouldn’t have come into the picture & if she hadn’t given him the edge, he would’ve never uttered those things about Mahnoor that he as a matter of factly said. For Waqar, Mahnoor was a respectable girl & this is exactly the word that he threw at her in their first meeting to impress her but now times have changed & the same girl, who he wanted is not respectable anymore because she dumped her husband for him. Waqar is not wrong in his perspective because this is exactly how the human psyche works. The moment someone finds a better option, they start nitpicking & looking for the negatives in the options they first considered & this is exactly what Waqar is doing. He never was in love with Mahnoor, he was just infatuated with her & found her attractive, that is why he tried his luck at her & Mahnoor being mentally shallow fell for it, which she’ll face the brunt for & rightly so.

Well, talking about Mahnoor, she surely is one desperate girl whose only motive in life is to have a guy around her all the time. She didn’t like the one who treated her as a center of his universe, so she shooed him away & fell for someone she thought was perfect in every aspect but now when he’s gone, she is considering getting back to the one she was with initially. Mahnoor really doesn’t understand how she has ruined hers & Haadi’s life that is why she is taking their divorce as a joke & thinks that a single apology will fix everything & things will become normal between her & Haadi. Mahnoor is shallow, that is why ever since she has heard from Waqar that he will need 2 months more to return, she has now made it her mission to fix things with Haadi before Waqar’s return so that she doesn’t see a pity in his eyes for her & she can show it to him that things in her life are normal as well. Mahnoor knows that her mother will never allow her to disturb Haadi & play with his feelings again, that is why she thought it was a better idea to go in the absence of Aneesa.

The entire scenario where Mahnoor went to Haadi & Uzma’s place was done really well. Haadi was shocked as he couldn’t believe how shallow Mahnoor can be that just a couple of free rides are enough for her to change her mind. It actually took her couple of rides from Waqar to believe that he was the one & now similarly after being with Haadi twice made her realize that she couldn’t be without him. It was so obvious that Mahnoor was eager to earn Haadi’s apology only but to put up an act & to add more weight to her apology, she thought she will become friends with Uzma too, just to show to Haadi that Mahnoor was ready to make a change in her thinking & in her attitude. Even though Uzma had told Haadi that he should forgive Mahnoor & even though after that conversation with Uzma, Haadi did realize that he hasn’t fallen out of love with Mahnoor, he still couldn’t believe how inconsiderate Mahnoor was being by expecting a forgiveness from him after putting him through so much. Mahnoor really hasn’t understood what she has done with her life that is why she didn’t seem concerned with what might happen in the future. Right now, she wanted a validation from Haadi & a security that all of a sudden went missing from her life after Haadi divorced her, that is why she persuaded Haadi to give her what she wanted as she couldn’t imagine her life without it & she wasn’t used to it too.

The meeting between Uzma & Mahnoor was covered nicely too. It was so obvious that Mahnoor couldn’t tolerate Uzma’s presence but just because she had to score some points in front of Haadi, she was ready to put up an act of being pally with Uzma. All Mahnoor had was a detest for Uzma in her eyes but she didn’t mind resorting to hypocrisy just to show to Haadi that she has changed & she didn’t mind sharing an equation with Uzma despite knowing that she loved Haadi. It was quite interesting to see the girls sharing a space & sharing a conversation over the guy they both were in love with. Uzma was putting up an act too by being happy & composed but she was doing that in order to hide the hurt she was feeling in her heart after finding out that Mahnoor hasn’t given up on Haadi yet.

Overall, it was a very interesting episode & I enjoyed watching it a lot. I loved how this time around, their expressions were enough to show the thoughts that were running through their minds. I must say I loved the acting of all three actors but Sana Javed takes the cake for showcasing Mahnoor’s hypocrisy so effortlessly. I loved how she made it obvious that Mahnoor hated being around Uzma but had to paste a smile on her face to cover up the feeling of disgust & detest she had towards her. Zahid Ahmed is good as Haadi & so is Yumna Zaidi as Uzma. I loved the expressions of Uzma when she is standing in the kitchen making coffee for Mahnoor & smiling at herself for carrying a facade in front of Mahnoor to hide her little secret that Mahnoor’s presence was hurting her. There were a couple of dialogues that were amazing too & all the conversations in general were written brilliantly. For the first time I can say that I am looking forward to what is yet to come. Zara Yaad Kar – Episode 12, 13 & 14!

Ohkay so, these three episode of Zara Yaad Kar made a lot of progress in terms of the story & the character development. I do however feel that I found it to be that way because I watched these 3 episodes one after another, therefore I didn’t pay attention to the overall pace of each & every episode but I am dreading that it will get back to the slower side because I will be watching the episodes on weekly basis from now on. Having said that, I will say that I liked all three episodes because they took the story forward & gave us something to talk about.

Mahnoor is struggling deep within because she knows that everything that is happening with her is her own fault. She chose to shoo away the guy who loved her for the sake of a guy who doesn’t trust her enough to tell her what is happening in his life or what he is upto. Mahnoor has to be the most insensible girl ever because she drove herself into this deep pit & now has no one who can pull her out of it. She gambled with her life just because she ‘assumed’ that Waqar was the one who’ll make her happy while being completely oblivious of the fact that he didn’t even respect her let alone love her.

Gaiti & Waqar’s relation is nurturing because Waqar can now see that Gaiti is a potential politician & because of Gaiti, Waqar can get the authority & the power to empower the people of Umarkot. Also, Gaiti is trusting Waqar way more than she should, but then again, I find this to be a little glitch that just because Mehtab Deswali has fled, Gaiti has lost contact with her father & Mehtab has left her only daughter to deal with such serious stuff on her own & he has allowed Waqar to have a free-hand when it comes to his daughter. Also, where is Gaiti’s brother who made an appearance when Gaiti returned from America? I don’t believe that conservative guys like Mehtab & his son will leave the only female of their family in the lurch to figure things out on her own. At least, they should’ve shown that all this while Gaiti was in contact with her father & he was guiding her daughter, who for the first time, has stepped into the field of politics. I find it a little unrealistic that Mehtab isn’t worried about his daughter, whereas he was shown to be quite farsighted where he hired Waqar as Gaiti’s Urdu tutor because he knew that Gaiti needed to be fluent in Urdu in order to make an impression on the people of Umarkot, so now when she is actually with those people, Mehtab isn’t telling her what needs to be done & how she can leave a good impression on those people that will guarantee another win of their party in the next elections.

Honestly speaking, I do understand all the feelings Waqar has for the people of Umarkot & how he gets emotional when he talks about their helplessness & how they have always been fooled by the politicians, but I feel all his feelings would’ve made far more impact if he himself would’ve been an honest & sincere person. The way Waqar’s character was introduced & the impression he has left so far by playing with the feelings of Mahnoor & Gaiti doesn’t really make him look like someone who can feel for someone without expecting something in return. There’s an entire contrast in his personality when it comes to how conniving he is in his personal life & how selfless he becomes when it comes to the people of Umarkot, but still his cunning side takes the lead & curbs the niceness he displays every now & then. Also, I find it amusing that Waqar never did anything for the people of Umarkot on his own, he just chose to educate himself & make a life for himself in a city, but now when he has landed an opportunity to be in contact with the family of politicians, he doesn’t mind shedding a tear or two to show how much love he holds for his town & its people.

It is actually quite disturbing that Waqar doesn’t even understand the difficulties Mahnoor is facing & he doesn’t partially hold himself responsible for instigating the divorce between Mahnoor & Haadi. Mahnoor has unfortunately understood that the love she thought Waqar had for her doesn’t exist & she left everything, her shelter, her security blanket, her safety net for a guy like him who doesn’t even love her to begin with. The way she is clinging onto Haadi now & the way she is finding it hard to move on goes to show that she is left with nothing but deep regret with her decisions. The conversations between Haadi & Mahnoor were done well, they showed the transitions both of them have made & the different impact that their divorce has left on them both. Where Mahnoor is shattered emotionally, Haadi is in peace. Where Mahnoor is feeling regret, Haadi is content as he knows that he has nothing to lose now. This divorce has matured Haadi mentally & emotionally whereas it has made Mahnoor even more immature because the way she is not accepting the fact that Haadi has moved on goes to show that she still has a glimmer of hope in her heart that may be things will work out between them once again. Mahnoor knows that Haadi loved her truly therefore she is still expecting him to showcase that love & pull her out of her misery that she has inflicted upon herself.

Uzma on her own is dealing with the self-created stuff. I do understand that she is a good & selfless soul but the way she is dealing with her equation with Haadi isn’t sparking an interest & seems a bit forced actually. Uzma’s explanation behind her brave act of writing a love letter to a married man didn’t justify anything. Uzma on her own thought that she was doing a favor to both Mahnoor & Haadi by writing a love letter to Haadi, thinking that it will strengthen their relationship which sounded nothing but a lie. I fail to understand how can anyone be so lifeless to actually sit & think about someone else’s love life to such an extent that confessing their love seems like a good idea to them. It is so obvious that even Uzma knows that Haadi’s divorce means he is free to think about her, therefore she is trying to maintain a distance which seems nothing but another attempt of grabbing his attention. I do like Uzma’s character but somehow I am unable to accept her seedha-pan.

Overall, these three episodes were written & directed well. I must say I loved Sana Javed’s acting the most in these episodes, where she made sure to convey the storm that has overtaken Mahnoor’s mind & heart. Each & every expression told a tale of how shattered & regretful Mahnoor was but she was putting up an act to show her mother that she was strong enough to deal with her pain gracefully. Zahid Ahmed acted really well too & the thing that I noticed & loved the most was the change of body language of all the characters/actors after the divorce took place, where Haadi looked relaxed, Mahnoor looked tensed & Uzma looked equally uncomfortable. All the actors have done a superb job & yes, there were quite a few conversations/dialogues that hit home for me. I enjoyed watching these three episodes, so please tell me how’d you like them by sharing your thoughts too.
