Shamim Ara’s first husband was Sardar Rind, a landlord from Balochistan who died tragically in a car accident. She then married Abdul Majid Carim whose family owned Agha Color Film Company. The couple had a child Salman Majid Carim, who happens to be Shamim Ara’s only child. After Shamim Ara got married to Fareed Ahmed, in a short span of time she called a press conference and spoke about how she was filing for a divorce from him, citing sterility as a reason. All the claims were untrue because Fareed Ahmed had fathered 2 children in his previous marriage. That is when he went to the famous palmist Komal Tariq and asked her to suggest a name. She suggested the name Sami Khan. The name Sami was brand new and Khan was taken from his own name.
Sami Khan shared that he loved this name even before Komal Tariq suggested it therefore this was a win-win situation for him. He also said that his director Shehzad Rafique was not happy with this decision and as a reaction he made sure that the character Sami was playing was changed to Mansoor. Talking about Saraab, Sami Khan mentioned that “Saraab was a very challenging project for all of us. The drama had a different content and story but we knew that it would not get a lot of ratings. It was a story of a disease which most of the people are unaware of. Saraab is very close to my heart and the story is very close to the reality”.
Further Sami said that “In further episodes you will get to see that the story and content is different from the typical stories we show to our audience. We decided to make the appearance same for both the characters which I play. It was very challenging for me to perform two different characters in one look”.

If the price of each episode of our drama is 1 to 2 million per episode and your are getting a drama on low cost it will damage our industry. First u need to accept our drama industry as a proper industry”.
