Talking about getting a chance in the drama serial, Humayun Saeed said, “I was randomly given a chance by a writer, my first project wasn’t offered to me by my brother Humayun Saeed. Had I been given a chance by my brother; I would have been properly launched like other people. I was just casually offered a role by the writer, and I accepted. I was depressed, left my job, and started acting”.
Talking about Humayun Saeed as a producer and critic, he said, “He is never on the sets when we shoot but even he joins the set, I won’t feel any difficulty in acting. He doesn’t give too many tips but he just advises me to stay fit. He is my biggest critic. He often says don’t try to be like me because I have made my name, I can run in the industry the way I am but you should be fit. The release of Salman Khan’s Tubelight in Pakistan has been a matter great debate. However, according to reports, Tubelight’s director Kabir Khan has hinted that the flick may be released in Pakistan at a later date.
In a press conference in Dubai, director Kabir Khan said, “I don’t think one should react or respond to hearsay, we have not been told by any Pakistani producers or anyone from Pakistan about our film. Yes, I have heard there have been murmurs about our film essentially so that may be some producers feel they have a better chance at the box office without a film over there. But if they feel some of their films have to be nurtured more, we can come there later as well. At the end we feel that our film should be enjoyed and consumed by people in Pakistan because they are great fans of Salman Khan. More than the box office, we have got a lot of love from them for Bajrangi Bhaijaan. We hope to do the same with Tubelight this time.”

A few Pakistani films are slated to release on Eid-ul-Fitr this year and the release of Tubelight in Pakistan will affect the business of local films. Therefore, Tubelight might get banned in Pakistan to save the local cinema.

The 21st International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards in Indore and it will be held from March 27 to 29. A pre-event festival such as IIFA Rocks and Technical awards will take place in Bhopal on March 21.

And as luck would have it, he’s inundated with scripts that are unlike his recent films. Farah Khan and Rohit Shetty have offered him a film that’s mostly comedy. The film with Kabir Khan is not known but they have multiple ideas that they want to explore. Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar and Siddharth Roy Kapur too have shared their ideas with him.
Finally, Sooraj Barjatya, with whom he has given memorable family films, too has approached the superstar with an interesting idea, a clean entertainer for all ages. However, the film is in scripting stage. And of course, he also has Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick 2 which he’s seriously considering, apart from the third part of Tiger.’
Moreover, he also shared that Salman Khan is in no hurry to sign his next after Radhe. He is already busy with his Eid release and further announcements will be made in a few months. In a recent press conference for his upcoming film, He said those who demand wars should be sent to the border to end the warmongering.
“Those who order wars should be sent to the forefront and be told that you fight first. Their hands and feet will tremble. The war will be over in a day. Then they will sit across the table and talk.”
Salman further added, “Whenever there is war, people die on both sides of the border.”
“All discussions can be solved across the table. It’s a negative emotion.”
Soon after Salman’s press conference came to an end, Hindu extremist Shiv Sena criticised the actor and said that Salman Khan “crossed his boundaries. The way he has said this is really objectionable. Who doesn’t want peace? Why does he always cross his boundaries.”
Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha, on the other hand, told CNN-News 18 that Salman Khan’s statement rooting for peace between India and Pakistan was a “sane, sensitive and mature one.”
Fawad Khan is undoubtedly the most successful Pakistani actor across the borders. After winning hearts with his striking performance in Kapoor & Sons, the star was set to give the Indian actors a run for their money. However, seems like Bollywood has no plans to uplift the ban on Pakistani celebrities working in India.
Last year, a news surfaced that Fawad will be starring in Dharma Productions’ next venture opposite Katrina Kaif. The film titled Raat Baaki will be directed by Aditya Dhar under the banner of Karan Johar Films.
It was earlier reported that Fawad Khan will be replaced by Saif Ali Khan in the upcoming venture, however recent reports suggest that Karan Johar has plans of signing Salman Khan, replacing the Pakistani heartthrob opposite Katrina Kaif.
A source told DNA, “While KJo’s next directorial will be with Ranbir Kapoor, he wants to produce a film with Salman and Katrina in the lead as he finds their chemistry sizzling. Earlier, the same film was to star Pakistani actor Fawad Khan along with Katrina, but with the ban on Pakistani actors during Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, that is not happening.”
He further added, “Hence, the film-maker was keen to rope in Salman. The script is being reworked for Dabangg Khan, to make the character more suitable to him. The pre-production work on the film has begun.”
In a recent Press meeting the super star Salman Khan supported the Pakistani actors and regarding the ban of Pakistani celebrities Salman said, “Pakistani artistes are just artistes and not terrorists. Art and terrorism should not be mixed. Ideal situation should have been that of peace. But, now a reaction to an action has happened. It was a proper action as they were terrorists. But still in this day and age, I think if we lived in peace and harmony it would have been better for everyone and especially for common people”.
In reaction to Salmans comments the Shiv Sena leader said “Salman should migrate to Pakistan”.
Another leader of MNS Shalini Thackeray said, “Film stars should understand the sentiments of the people under the current circumstances. People are very angry and actors like Salman Khan should respect them. If Pakistani artistes do not condemn the wrongdoings of their country, why can our film stars not respect the Indian sentiment. Bollywood is not bigger than the country.”

An insider said, “Even though this is for a film shoot, local organisations are upset and have filed a police complaint against Salman. After all it is a film shoot but the locals refuse to understand.” Sensing an unfavorable situation Salman and the rest of the Bharat team quickly wrapped up the shooting and left for Mumbai.

“It is so silly. What do creative people have to do with this? The politics of two countries can be handled by the politicians. How does this inter-culture exchange of artists between two countries [which was one country some years ago] change anything.”
He also said that Mahira Khan was part of his film which means she had the right to work in India. When asked if he was afraid people will criticize him for defending Pakistani artists he said,
“By what standard can I be unpatriotic? I’m an Indian movie star. I was born in India, I’m… Indian. To all saying go to Pakistan, and leave India I just say shut up.”

“Now that everything is digital, Indians love to watch each and every entertainment show, including popular Pakistani shows . So, art and entertainment have no boundaries. Entertainment is evaluated by what common people want to watch.”

“If someone wants a Pakistani actor who can portray a role better, nobody can put a constraint. Bollywood has a huge number of fans in Pakistan and earns a good share of income from the neighboring country.”

He lost his first child, his eldest daughter Sumaiya Salman at the age of 23. She was a special child and he was broken when she passed away.
Salman Iqbal sat for an interview with Waseem Badami and spoke about his career, family and vision for Pakistan. He also revealed how he took his daughter’s death. He shared that he shifted to London in the 90s just because he knew that his daughter was special when she was born and they were not finding the necessary medical facilities anywhere else. She was the light of his life and they both shared a strong bond.

Salman Iqbal broke into tears when he spoke about his late daughter. He revealed that all he can say is that no father should have to go through this pain. He was in tears as he shared that when his daughter was 1 year old, she was put on a ventilator. He kept waiting for her to wake up despite even doctors giving up hope. She came back from it and lived for 20 more years. Salman Iqbal said that when her final ghusl was done, he was broken as he did not know how to lower her into the grave.
