Popular actor Mikaal Zulfiqar is leaving no stone unturned as he takes up one acting project after another, the latest one being a rom-com film titled ‘Ae Dil Meray Chal Ray’. He had earlier decided to jump into the bandwagon of Pakistani films as his two films are set to release this year.

Mikaal’s upcoming film, Ae Dil Meray Chal Ray stars himself opposite the sister clan, Sana and Sara Sarfaraz. Adnan Shah Tipu, Javed Sheikh and Jawad Bashir will be seen in supporting role. Mikaal took to social media to announce his upcoming film.

After Teefa in Trouble screened at a film festival in Russia, its now the turn of Mikaal Zulfiqar starrer Sherdil. Sherdil recently screened at the Moscow Film Festival in Russia and now, according to EPK and producer Noman Khan, the film, is all set to release commercially in the country.

“We usually don’t come to Russia considering it an unknown land but people here are quite hungry for entertainment,” stated producer Noman Khan adding that Russian footfall attributed to about 50% once the first week of the film was over.

According to news, the producers and distributors of Sherdil, are eyeing the first half of 2020 for the film’s release in Russia. Noman Khan shared with EPK that he had already spoken to sponsors and the General Council in Russia and was aiming at a February release for Sherdil in the country.

Talking to Images, Sara Sarfaraz reveals details about her role in the upcoming film, “It’s a about a career-oriented girl who also has slightly disturbed family and about how her perception of things changes when she gets to know the importance of family.”

Her sister, Sana also added what her character will be like: “I play the role of this very modern, outspoken girl from a rich family. Sara and I are playing sisters in the movie also so I’m really excited about the project, working with her will be great because she’s my support system so I couldn’t have asked for a better debut project.”

Mikaal also revealed that there are a few situational songs in the movie as well as a dance number or two but no item number. The movie is expected to release next year.

Mikaal Zulfiqar is very well known as a host, model and an actor but what many people do not know is that this talented young man also stepped into production with the plays Maan and Tum Mere Kya Ho. Both these dramas have nothing new to offer but Mikaal has plans to do something different in the future. This was his first production so he thought it was better to play it safe. While talking to Instep Magazine Mikaal said,

“I am grateful to my team who helped me complete two serials back-to-back as producer. Yes, the stories are run-of-the-mill but when you don’t know the art (of production), you have to start with something that is familiar to the audience. Trust me, I am going to bring some explosive ideas to the screen in the next few months because that’s what our drama industry lacks.”

Apart from working in his country Mikaal has also done films in India. These films were not very popular and some of them have been subject of controversy too. This is what Mikaal had to say about his Bollywood career so far,

“You can call me unlucky when it comes to Bollywood, “My first film, Godfather, was an Indo-Pak production in 2006 and I got to work with Vinod Khanna, Arbaaz Khan and many other experienced actors. Afterwards, I was offered a role in Shoot on Sight where Om Puri sahib and Naseeruddin Shah sahib were my co-stars. The film did well at the box office but soon after, the Mumbai attacks happened and despite having a few offers, I was left in a lurch – I didn’t have an Indian visa, nor any work in Pakistan. It was then that I realized that this might continue to happen in the future so I put a stop to my Bollywood aspirations and began working in Pakistan. Thankfully my decision helped and that’s one of the reasons why I have stayed away from films – both in India and Pakistan.”

Talking about how his character looked and acted when he aged Mikaal said,

“Yaar that’s television and we aren’t that well-versed in the makeup department in Pakistan. “Things might be a little better in films; we still have a long way to go in terms of television. Haseeb Hasan has done a wonderful job with Dayar-e-Dil but if the audience didn’t like the aging thing, all I can say is that we will try to work on it in the future.”

Talking about what he has planned for the future Mikaal said,

“I am happy with my work on TV here and would love to carry Pakistan forward if I can – as an actor, producer and model. This country has given us a lot and we must ensure that this debt is paid back by delivering quality products.”

Mikaal Zulfiqar never fails to speak his mind. The actor was in news for his divorce with wife Sana Bhatti. Recently, he appeared at tonite with HSY and said a few controversial things about two Pakistani actresses which might not go well with their fans.

“My Urdu teacher used to beat me and shout at me a lot because my Urdu was very weak. If he is watching me right now, I would like to assert the fact that I am now directly linked to a profession that has everything to do with Urdu!”

Mikaal Zulfiqar also told that his Urdu was still weak and he needed help with reading his script. He said,

“I still cannot read the script, one of the assistants reads it out for me and that is how I learn my lines.”

Talking about his interaction with girls prior to marriage and how things are after marriage he said,

“I have always been very shy when it comes to girls. I met my wife Sara through a family friend. She is a beautiful person inside and out.”

Mikaal Zulfiqar has two beautiful daughters. He talked about how it felt like being a father for the first time,

“When I had my first daughter, I felt like my life had a real purpose now. I am a family man, there was a time when I was a party animal but not any more.”

 “I used to get stiff in the beginning while acting because I started my career as a model. The acting in commercial brought out the best of my comic side. “

Mikaal Zulfiqar believes that it is impossible for Bollywood actors to work in Pakistan and he explained his stance too.

The Ruswai actor said, “After working with Bollywood actors I can assure you that they cant work in Pakistani dramas.”

He explained and said, “They can not remember such long dialogues like us.”

“Once I was working with Akshay Kumar and he had to say only two small dialogues which were ‘theek hai’ and ‘mai dekh lunga’. For every scene, he used placards for his dialogues.”

“In the end, when the scene was closed I jokingly said to Akshay Kumar that he can’t ever work in Pakistani dramas.”

Mikaal Zulfiqar’s father is a Pakistani from Lahore and his mother is actually English thus giving him his striking looks. Mikaal was asked how he feels about his film’s release in London as well as it is his second home. MIkaal had interesting things to share on this question and said that he has two homes, Lahore and London.

He said that having parents from two nationalities was always very helpful in his early years when he was growing up in London. He said that his Pakistani group would bicker about the English and his English group would bicker about Pakistanis and he had the license to do both while no one will ever call him out.

Mikaal also shared that playing characters like Sherry do leave an impact on you. He started understanding this a few years ago and he became very careful about the characters he would pick. That is also the reason he did not pick the child abuser character in Udaari which later on went to Ahsan Khan.

He said that he likes Deepika Padukone as well as Kareena Kapoor Khan. Now a days however, he is not a fan of Kareena anymore though.

But his ultimate favourite Bollywood actress is none other than Sonali Bendre. He has been a huge fan of hers from his younger days and she is Mikaal’s favourite Bollywood actress.

Mikaal Zulfiqar is one such actor who has done films like Baby and U R My Jaan in Bollywood.

Mikaal talked about working in Bollywood in a recent interview and how artists are treated there. Mikaal said that it is of course an attractive industry with much better environment. Mikaal said that he did what many other actors did, he jumped ship to Bollywood completely. He further said that they frame artists who get a lot of work like they did with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in the tax evasion case and banned Atif, Fawad and Mahira.

Now again Mikaal has spoken up on the issue and said “And the rerun saga continues, ZeeZindagi has also aired Diyar-e-Dil several times, so unfair that the people who really make it a success don’t enjoy any benefits”
