Lux launched its new bar with style in an extravagant event attended by all the famous celebrities of the fashion industry. Fawad Khan and Emaan Ali were the stars of the evening as the focus was on them because they are the new brand ambassadors of Lux.

The Lux commercial starring Fawad Afzal Khan and Iman Ali is finally on screens with signature production quality of Lux. After a gap of more than one decade Fawad Khan and Iman Ali have worked opposite each other in a project. The only time they worked opposite each other was in blockbuster film Khuda Ke Liye(2007). However it was Iman Ali, Shaan Shahid, Naseeruddin Shah and Shoaib Mansoor receiving fame and awards. Fawad never worked in any film afterwards and rose to stardom from dramas like Daastan(2010) and Humsafar(2011). Fawad and Iman had worked in a  relatively less famous soap drama Dil De Ke Jayenge (2008), for Geo TV, where Iman played the role of Bhaabhi of Fawad.

On 22 May, in 2020, Pakistan International Airlines’s plane faced an unfortunate amd horrific accident when the Airbus A320 carrying the passengers of flight 8303 crashed into Model Colony, which is a densely populated residential area of Karachi. In this tragedy, around 91 people including Pakistani model Zara Abid passed away. There were only two lucky people who survived miraculously in the plane crash. One survivor was Muhammad Zubair who didn’t appear on television and the other was Zafar Masud who has given various interviews. Zafar Masud is also the president of The Bank of Punjab. Zafar Masud is also the son of famous veteran Pakistani actor Munawar Saeed, who played the character of Baby Baji’s husband in the popular serial Baby Baji.

Lately, Zafar Masud appeared in the Geo News’s program Talk Shock in which he talked about the last minutes in plane. He also talked about his conviction and faith in Allah that he will not die even if the plane will crash, during the last minutes. Zafar Masud said, “I don’t remember what happened during the last minutes but all I remember is that the last moments on the plane were chaotic, where all the air hostesses were in panic, they were reciting, every one was reciting and the plane was about to crash, I just fainted and woke up around people”.

Talking about what were his feelings, he said that he had that faith and conviction in Allah that he will survive through, not matter what will happen and same had happened. “I had this in my min that I will survive the crash, so when I woke up, I wasn’t surprised, obviously, I thanked Allah, I was in pain, my back was burnt, I was in gratitude, I requested the rescuers to handle me with care, they took me to ambulance with care. After reaching the hospital, I asked the nurse to dial me my mother’s number”, added Zafar Masud.

People are also coming up with their opinions after listening to his experience. A social media user wrote, “I personally know him, he’s a very kind and God fearing man who does a lot of charity”, another social media user wrote, “May Allah save all of us from such accidents, may Allah forgive us”.

Lt General Faiz Hameed is a prominent Pakistani retired three-star Army General who served as ISI Chief and Corp Commander Bahawalpur. Today, the Wedding ceremony of General (R) Faiz Hameed’s daughter happened in Rawalpindi which was attended by many notable political and Army figures. Pakistan Army’s former chief Gen (R) Qamar Javed Bajwa also attended the wedding event of General Faiz Hameed’s daughter. The event was also attended by many other notable politicians.

We reported earlier that Faysal Qureshi in particular protested against the LSA Nominations for the year 2014 because the TV serial Bashar Momin was not nominated in any category at all. This was a major cause of disappointment for the artist because in his opinion Bashar Momin was an important play of 2014 which deserved recognition.

Due to some technical errors and perhaps public uproar LSA had to revise the nominations and as a result Faysal Qureshi was also nominated in the best actor category for Bashar Momin after the revision. Faysal Qureshi is not happy because he thinks that those actors and dramas that have been nominated by LSA do not deserve to be nominated. He also said that two people who worked in the same drama had been nominated which was not the rule. He was talking about the nomination of Firdous Jamal and Hamza Ali Abbasi from the play Pyare Afzal.

Faysal Qureshi shared his discontentment with LSA and his love for his fans who supported him on his facebook page.

Like it was revealed earlier, Ahmed Ali Butt and Ali Safina had issues with the nominations of Lux Style Awards 2016. Ahmed Ali Butt requested his name to be moved from the category of Best Actor to Best Supporting Actor while Ali Safina, who was nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actor, wanted his nomination removed, and he pointed out that he played the main character in the movie, Jalaibee.

In compliance with Ahmed Ali Butt’s request, his name has been moved to the category of Best Supporting Actor. Now, his name in the Best Actor category has been replaced with Danish Taimoor for his performance in the film Wrong No.

Ali Safina’s nomination, however, hasn’t been revised.

The most anticipated award show Lux Style Awards will be held on 29 July and with so little time left, the rehearsals are in full swing. Frieha Altaf, the director of the show, ia busier than ever. Sheheryaar Munawar, Sohaye Abroo, Urwa and Farhan Saeed are rehearsing for their performances, Ali Zafar is all set to host the show and record his Qawwali.

What got us the most excited was the reunion (sort of) of EP – Fawad Khan and Ahmed Ali Butt. Here are some pictures:

Momin Durrani is part of the Coke Studio family and at LSA 2016, he and Zeb Bangash were nominated for singing the Best Original Soundtrack category for TV drama Diyar e Dil. In an interview with Express Tribune, Momin Durrani revealed that he received his invite at the very last minute.

“It had a silver code which meant instead of sitting with the artists, I was supposed to sit with the audience at the back.”

Durrani didn’t show up because awards don’t matter to him anyway. “But all my friends and family have asked me what happened. My name is still there in the credits. This is humiliating.”

According to ET, when approached, LSA media manager Fareshteh Aslam said invites were delayed across the board and for that she apologised on behalf of the organising team. Further, she said that the award rightfully belonged to the producer of the show, Momina Duraid. “It was Momina Duraid’s award and neither Bangash’s nor Durrani’s. Because Duraid was not present on the occasion, Bangash accepted it on her behalf.”

Zeb Bangash, however, didn’t mention in her speech that she was accepting the award on behalf of Momina Duraid.

With Lux Style Awards 2016 just around the corner, all the people associated with it are prepping for the big day with great enthusiasm since its the most anticipated and hyped-up award show covering all the fields from drama and film to fashion and music.

Pakistan’s northern areas offer diverse cultures, various ethnicities, beautiful landscapes, and warm-hearted people. The locals here are highly intelligent and quick learners. They speak several languages, including Gilgiti, Pashto, Urdu, and English. Although many do not attend formal schools but they are taught different languages which benefit them as tour guides. The kids who hail from the northern areas also get admiration for their charming looks and confidence.

Lately, a minor girl from Lower Dir grabbed social media users’ attention due to her fluent English. According to the local girl, she has never gone to the school but has a command on six languages including English.

Talking about it, the Lower Dir girl said, “My mother is from Chitral, my father is from Peshawar; my father speaks 14 languages. I can speak six languages. I haven’t learnt these languages from school. I was taught English at home; I am fluent in Urdu, English, Punjabi, Siraiki, Pashto, and Chitrali. I’m selling peanuts and sunflower seeds. Netizens were surprised to hear her speak fluent English with a perfect accent. Many said she speaks better than those who have studied in English medium schools. A few said that it’s not about schooling and education, but about the hard work and confidence that everyone should have in life. Maryam Ansari is a Pakistani actress who appeared in many drama series and earned massive popularity for her amazing performance on the television screen. Mariam is sister actor Ali Ansari. Mariam recently got married married to Owais Khan, son of former Pakistani cricketer Moin Khan.
