“The roles that I’ve done, they have been the type that have broken stereotypes. I really want that the male actor and female actor get the same amount of money so they get an equal amount of respect,” Mehwish Hayat says in the video.

“Social media if used the right way, can be really helpful and healthy and progressive; it can build people up,” she adds.

My World is a program produced with an aim to fill a global gap by providing young audiences with reliable and trusted information. The program will target youth, who are legally allowed on many social media platforms but susceptible to the dangers of ‘fake news’ and disinformation.

Mehwish Hayat stated that the full episode of the program would be out soon.

On the work front, Mehwish Hayat is currently shooting for London Nahi Jaungi, written by Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar and being directed by Nadeem Baig. The film stars Hayat opposite Humayun Saeed.

Kapoor’s next venture titled Batti Gul Meter Chalu shows him in a similar avatar to that of Mustafa’s in Actor in Law. Much like how Mustafa plays a lawyer in the film, Kapoor does the same in Batti Gul Meter Chalu after escalating electricity bills kill his friend.

Tarek Fatah, is known for his Twitter presence against Pakistan and Islam. The troll recently posted a video on his Twitter in which a woman is seen refusing a polio worker’s request to inoculate her child.

Upon finding the tweet, Mehwish Hayat was quick enough to point out and school Fatah for the blunder he had caused.

“Thank u for giving ur 2 cents on this but pls first verify the source b4 posting next time. It’s a scene frm my movie”loadwedding”,the polio worker is me & that woman an actress.Through the film we were raising awareness of the issue.Glad 2 see our performances were so convincing,” wrote Mehwish on her Twitter.

Although it turned out to be a rather embarrassing moment for Fatah, he didn’t acknowledge his error nor Mehwish’s correction. But what is interesting is the fact that the tweet was deleted around midday.

Good going Mehwish, keep calling out these trolls and embarrassing them for trying to tarnish Pakistan’s image. Hats off to you and your efforts.

Mehwish said that she got a lot of opportunities in Pakistan and she has been a part of the biggest films that have come out of Pakistani cinema. She said that she feels that she got a lot of respect and appreciation in her own country and therefore did not feel to say yes to any Bollywood offer.

Pakistani projects and actors have done great this year crossing borders and opening new avenues for upcoming talent. A Pakistani film got screened and won awards at Cannes Film Festival being the first one to do so while many actors including Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat and Ahad Raza Mir have featured in big projects with noticeable and important roles. Mehwish herself will soon feature in Ms Marvel.

Mehwish revealed that her film was the first to feature at Cannes Film Festival. She did a telefilm titled Dho Dala which was directed by Iram Parveen Bilal and it was screened at Cannes 12 years ago. Mehwish could not attend the prestigious film festival back then. These days however, she has been doing great as se just walked the red carpet at Ms Marvel Premiere, her first Hollywood project.

Mehwish is busy promoting her film London Nahi Jaunga these days and that is how this fact came to be known.

She clearly said that she doesn’t need to clarify anything and she knows what is their agenda behind this rumour.

Hayat further said that she will not stop speaking up for Kashmiris and Bollywood for its hypocrisy.

She also added that if they want to link her name with someone its better to do it with Hollywood star Leonardo Di Caprio.
