Pakistani cinema started from dust and has been progressing day by day with more and more movies coming out each year and many more people getting into the business seriously. Humayun Saeed has been ruling over the box office and all his films have done really great business. With Jawani Phir ahi Ani making records which were broken by Punjab Nahi Jaongi, now it is his latest flick Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 which has made a record by becoming the first Pakistani film to cross 70 crore mark on the global box office.

It is great news for all the movie-makers out there that Pakistani films also hold the potential to do great business and can flourish quite well!

Joyland directed by Saim Sadiq, produced by Sarmad Khoosat and starring Sania Saeed, Alina Khan, Sarwat Gilani and Rasti Farooq is not just a film but a moment pride for Pakistan as it represented the country and oh so brilliantly at the Cannes Film Festival. Pakistani film industry has revived and we have watched very different content coming out of the cinema this year. Kamli for example was a very women centric film with Saba Qamar in the lead ad it did really well on the box office considering its niche market. Otherwise masala films like London Nahi Jaunga and Quaid e Azam Zindabad also earned enough to turn into block busters. And right now The Legend of Maula Jatt is reigning supreme. Among all these releases the film Joyland which won big awards at the Cannes film festival and was the first project from Pakistan to ear such accolades was set to release in cinemas.

Joyland was slated to release on 18th November in Pakistan. It was cleared by the censor board at first and the team was busy in promotions.

Entertainment News journalist Nadia Faisal passed away on Tuesday after a long battle with cancer. She was also known as Nieni Rafi. She was suffering for the disease for long time.

Nadia Faisal, alias Nieni, was a senior journalist associated with the entertainment news industry for several years during which she worked for several television channels, including Geo News for a 13 years.

Her husband is renowned film and music producer Faisal Rafi, confirmed the news of her death.

“Dear friends and colleagues, my wife Nadia Faisal who most of you knew as Nieni passed away today after a long struggle with cancer, will share funeral details soon, please remember her in your thoughts and prayers,” he said in a message on Twitter.

We are deeply saddened on the death of our talented journalist,the fraternity will never forget her hardwork and effort. May Her soul rest in peace.

His husband has requested to make a prayer for her that may Allah Almighty elevate her ranks there.

Myi Ri was a mega hit on ARY Digital. the drama had a very different topic and it created a lot of debate throughout its airing time. Aina Asif and Samar jafri were both hailed as stars as they played the lead characters Annie and Fakhir. The Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar had  banned Dr. Shahid Masood, from appearing on TV for a three-month period on March 20th. Dr. Masood was banned after his claims regarding the presence on an international pornographic ring in Pakistan were found to be “unfounded and baseless” by the JIT. Now, he is in trouble again as he has been arrested.

According to case filed against Shahid Masood, he had signed an agreement with a fake company to negotiate with the Pakistan Cricket Board for grant of rights to PTV for coverage of cricket matches played in Pakistan. PTV faced heavy losses post that. Roshan Mustafa Gillani and Kashif Rabbani were also suspects in the case. They had returned 8 Million and 10 Million after their bail was denied.

A district court of Islamabad had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Masood on the request of FIA but he had obtained an interim pre-arrest bail. But a special court of FIA had refused to confirm his interim bail in October. Shahid Masood had filed a plea in IHC after his interim bail period expired today. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani dismissed his petition for pre-arrest bail.

She further added, “I was about to leave as well when they came and requested us to stay. Mr. Ishfaque and I decided to wait. After that, Feroze finally arrived and treated us like servants. He showed extreme arrogance, as if being a superstar gave him that right. That’s when I took the mic and expressed my anger. The crowd started hooting at us, and then he started giving lame excuses that there was no hot water and things like that. I never intended to degrade him.” She further added, “Stars cannot separate themselves from the media. It’s unfair. If fans make you a star, then why invite the media at all your important events”. Feroze Khan, a famous Pakistani actor known for his controversies and unpredictable behavior, is once again making headlines for unprofessional conduct. Today, he was scheduled to attend a press conference in Lahore for his upcoming boxing match against digital creator Rahim Pardesi. However, the event faced a 2.5-hour delay due to his late arrival. Upon his late appearance, Lahore-based journalist and YouTuber Ambreen Fatima openly called him out for his unprofessional behaviour.

Ambreen Fatima said, “My name is Ambreen Fatima, we were strictly told to be on time and reach at 3:00 pm sharp. We all appeared in time but Feroze Khan appeared 2.5 hours late, all the main stream media has gone by now. You guys are stars just because of the media after Allah’s blessings and fans’ support. Media people support you and promote you. It is not professionalism. It is not a joke.”

Music group Josh, featuring Qurram Hussain and Rup Magon, is one of the most popular bands of Pakistan. With four full-length albums (released worldwide) to their credit including several thrilling collaborations, the band has been an active part of the music industry for over a decade.

The band is now entering the bandwagon of television soundtracks with an upcoming drama serial called Shiza. The drama is all set to hit the screens soon and the OST released recently and it’s not just an ordinary one because the music video features the band along with the drama scenes.

The song is titled Iltija and has been sung by Rup Magon and Qurram Hussain while the video is directed by Sohail Javed. More than half of the video features performance shots of the band while the rest consists of shots from the serial.

The story is based on his novel “Bichar Gaye”. The story of the drama is on fall of Dhaka. In the Novel, Col Farrukh expressed each and everything that he saw as a war hero. It also features real love story of Captain Farrukh with a Bengali girl Sonia. The drama has been written down as serial by Ali Moeen, it has been directed and produced by Haissam Hussain.

Today, last episode of the drama was teledcasted on Geo Television. It was heart wrenching and spine chilling episode, it was hard for fans to see the the division of east And west Pakistan amidst a lot of bloodshed. Fans thoroughly loved the acting of all the actors, all the actors including Talha Chahour, Aurangzeb Mirza and Adnan Jaffer did amazingly well. Fans also loved Maya Ali and Wahaj’s acting in last episode.
