Talking about it, he said, “Once we were in London for an award show when Momal informed me that Salman Khan is in London, she also urged me to arrange a meet-up with Salman Khan because she wanted to have pictures with him, I scolded her and said that this can’t be done. Momal insisted on me but I refused her strictly because I never did this”

He further added, “I accidentally saw Salman Khan at a mall in Burberry’s shop, I met with him there, he greeted me with a friendly attitude. While talking to him, I remembered Momal talking about him. I just asked Salman Khan about it, I said, ‘my daughter Momal and her friends want to have pictures with you’, he agreed to it and waited for them until they came and had pictures. He waited for them without even caring about his time and engagements. It was a big thing. He also called Momal with her name. Momal was shocked after hearing her name from Salman Khan”.

Actually, I saw Shahrukh Khan smoking on the set on his table along with black coffee, I went to him and said, ‘listen I do smoke, I do take black coffee but I go outside for that and I want to smoke it here like you’, he listened to me and ordered the spot boys to set up my table right next to him, after that, I used to enjoy smoking on the set. A famous Pakistani actor and a hero of past, Javed Sheikh, has rejected an offer to work in Indian films as they were offering side roles to him. He has clearly said this to Indian film producers that he will not do small roles until they offer him a strong leading role. Now he is expecting same from the Indian film industry, he wants to do strong roles in Indian films and has refused to do small acts. The scholar replied that Allah is all forgiving and in case anyone wants to repent and gives back the looted wealth and goes for Hajj with clean money their Hajj will be accepted but the first clause is that Hajj should be performed with Halal income. Thus, going to Hajj using Haram income would not serve the purpose.

Speaking to Instep, Javed Sheikh said, “I’m making a film called Wajood. Half of the film has already been shot while the remaining part will be shot in Turkey starting from next month. It’ll be ready by June and I plan to release it on Eid-ul-Azha.”

Wajood stars Danish Taimoor in the lead role while some of industry’s most prominent names are also attached to the project. It features Ali Saleem, Nadeem Baig and Frieha Altaf in pivotal roles while Javed too will make an appearance in the film.

The veteran actor Javed Shaikh who had been a part of industry since decades, has done some remarkable works in Lollywood and Bollywood too. He has signed his latest project with director/producer Zulfiqar Ahmed Sheikh titled Saach. Javed’s character is a billionaire who’s a father of two sons.

Zulfiqar told Images, “The film is a musical romance/ drama. I’ve been working on it for two years now, finally the screenplay is ready, just need to do the dialogues.”

“There are many cameo roles and shooting will start July [2017],” he concluded.

Javed Miandad, Pakistan’s legendary cricketer has called on the PCB to boycott against their arch-rivals, India, in all ICC events.

The veteran of 124 Tests, who also coached the national team thrice, said it was time Pakistan took a strong stance on cricket ties with India keeping in mind national interest and pride. This came in result to what India’s sports minister, Vijay Goel had announced earlier; no Pakistan sportspersons will be allowed to play in India or vice versa except for when it is at a neutral venue and at a multilateral tournament, such as the ICC Champions Trophy.

The former team captain said,

It is time we responded with bricks to stones. There is no need for us to play with India at any forum if they are not willing to restore bilateral ties. We should also boycott playing against them in all ICC events.

Miandad believed that boycotting India at all events will affect the ICC’s financials greatly as one of the biggest games are the matches between India and Pakistan. According to him, this would eventually lead to a better treatment of Pakistan on this particular issue.

I think when we don’t play India in ICC events and the ICC suffers financial losses and their events lose significance and colour, only then we will be treated with respect and we will be heard on a equal level at any forum.

Famous Pakistani actor and comedian Javed Kodu passed away on Saturday, 12th April 2025, after a long battle with multiple life-threatening illnesses. He served the entertainment industry for nearly 47 years and appeared in more than 150 films, television dramas, and stage plays. His notable works include Aashiyana, Hero, Pagri Sambhal Jatta, Ainak Wala Jin, Boxer, Desan Da Raja, Jadu Nagri, and many others.

Today, his eldest son Tayyab shared the details of his last moments before death.

Talking about it, he said, “He was fine but at 9:00 PM, his blood pressure dropped. I took him to Shalimar Hospital, where he was given emergency treatment, but his blood pressure couldn’t return to normal. He was discharged soon after. We reached home, and he started having difficulty breathing. We took him back, but he passed away shortly after. He had already told me, ‘This Eid is my last Eid,’ and also asked me to take care of the family. He loved people deeply. I’m shocked at the courage of my father. He fought courageously with his illness. He was fond of meeting people, but no one used to visit him. He only wanted to meet his friends—we never needed any financial help. He was a perfect father. Javed Kodu revealed the painful time when once his mother asked for some debt as he wanted to buy toys. The way they were treated made him realize that he has to earn his own money. He went away to look for work but was kidnapped and he was taken to a remote hotel where he used to wash dishes for 18 hours in a day and he was not allowed to contact anyone. It was nothing short of slavery and he was finally able to run away from there but he remembers the painful time.

Javed Kodu is a Punjabi theatre artist who has endured the insulting behaviour of society throughout his life due to his height. Javed Kodu has been through a lot lately due to his health issues. The star has served arts for over 3 decades and is still making people laugh and smile with his comedy. As a guest on Wasi Shah’s show, he spoke about the pain he has felt in his life because of the insulting behaviour he had to endure.

Javed shared that he has seen a lot in his life in terms of behaviour from the society in general and his colleagues in particular. In his career’s star, he was once belittled by a producer. He said some very hurtful things to him and Javed thought that he does not deserve respect because he is a little person. He kept going on in life and one day his shows were booked because of his presence.

He also shared that some of his co-stars have insulted him on stage because of who he is. They would not let go of what he said and they tried to insult him which was very painful for him. He further added that after he got sick, it is difficult for him to move around and his kids help him. This causes him a lot of pain.

Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer stars Yasir Husain and Ayesha Omar in lead roles. The film is based on the life of Javed Iqbal, a resident of Lahore who killed over a hundred children before surrendering himself in 1999 in a newspaper’s office. The film is made on his life and is directed by Abu Aleeha.

The film was all set to release as it was cleared by all the censor boards but now Punjab government has halted the release without giving any reason. The film has already been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic and was going to open the cinemas in 2022.

Abu Aleeha has shared his disappointment with the decision on social media while he advised that cinemas should play first and last episodes of dramas as his film is not releasing:

Abu Aleeha is going to the high court for legal action as the film was already cleared by the censor board.

Pakistani cinema though is on the road to revival, the film industry will not be able to reach its full potential till we allow the products made to release and let the audience be the judge of what they want to watch and what they want to boycott. Our films go through strong scrutiny and many films get banned even without a serious reason given by the censor board. Javed Iqbal is one such movie that has suffered senseless banning without a valid reason.

Javed Iqbal is written and directed by Abu Aleeha. The film stars Yasir Husain, Ayesha Omar, Rabya Kulsoom and many others and it has received rave reviews and awards at different film festivals. Javed Iqbal is based on the life story of a serial killer who molested, killed and dissolved the bodies of 100 boys and he never got caught but actually surrendered to the police himself.

The film has been hanging without a release for months and now it is all set to release on 19th May 2023. A few scenes have been censored and the film has been renamed as Kukri resulting in finally bringing the film to the cinemas.

While majority of channels are coming up with grand, colorful and glamorous arrangements in comparison Jashame Ramazaan(جشن رمضان) is a bit old fashioned comprising of only conversation with religious scholars. Viewers can participate in the show only by calls and can also win prizes but their is no live participation.

It is the second consecutive year Aneeq Ahmed is doing this transmission on Dunya Tv. It will be interesting to see in this age of commercialism whether transmission like Jashame Ramazaan(جشن رمضان) proves successful or not especially when a dozen of colorful alternatives are available on other channels.
