What do most of you look for when you visit the instagram pages of your favorite celebrity or any celebrity at all? Some people just want to see what these celebrities are keeping themselves busy with, others are interested in pictures only whether they reveal the whereabouts or activities of the celebrities or not and there are some people like me who are looking for much more! When I visit the official page of a celebrity which is run by the celebrity himself, I want information, inspiration and something else, it can be anything at all which will make me like this celebrity even more because isn’t that what most celebrities want through these posts? A post which makes me like a celebrity more is a success because at the end of the day most celebrities have these accounts so that they will win over more fans. Inspirational posts are hard to come by but when you find one then it is always a topper.
Most of the Pakistani celebrities use instagram. Some of them use it only for posting pictures but there are many others who also share their feelings, future plans and dreams in these posts. We decided to pick the best instagram posts by Pakistani celebrities posted in the last 7 days. The reasons for choosing these posts is mentioned below.
Sajal Ali And Feroze Khan’s Inspirational Gesture
Sajal Ali and Feroze Khan started the promotions of their first Lollywood venture “Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hai” with visiting a school for special children. This one picture and the post shows that this was much more than just an attention-grabbing stunt. They had a great time with the kids, learning sign language and spreading smiles. These kids are not the target audience but these celebrities demonstrated that zindagi is only haseen when you spread happiness. Way to go Sajal and Feroze, you won our hearts this week with this gesture and this post.
Mehwish Hayat’s Video And Post Thanking Her Fans And Followers
When celebrities reach a certain height sometimes they forget to pause and thank the people who are constantly showering them with their love and support. It is always pleasing to watch a celebrity thanking her fans. Mehwish Hayat posted a thank you video along with this message for all those fans who have shown their appreciation for her work. This was another post which deserves to be in this list.
Aisha Khan’s “Not-So-Glamorous” Moment
After watching her play Jeena in Mann Mayal and many roles which are glamorous in some way, it was brand new to see Aisha Khan posting this picture from the sets of one of the plays she is busy shooting nowadays. What we like is the lack of glamour and an artist willing to accept that it can all get a little tedious and boring at times. We like your honesty Aisha Khan!
Zahid Ahmed Khan Shares His Future Plans
Zahid Ahmed’s instagram page is always buzzing with interesting posts. He loves the feedback from his fans and is always keeping them informed about his upcoming projects. He takes his work seriously. This post is on the list because Zahid Ahmed revealed a little something about his future projects which gives his fans something to look forward to. Here is the look for his upcoming drama and few details which he shared about his character.
Faysal Qureshi’s Father-Daughter Moment
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. This pictures proves that it is very true that sometimes a picture can say more about a moment and someone’s feelings than any words. This picture on Faysal Qureshi’s instagram page captures a loving father-daughter moment perfectly.
Please feel free to add to the list. Which instagram posts did you like the best in the past 7 days?
Ohkay so, this episode of App Ke Liye was good in bits & pieces, but I found it on the slower side because a lot of coverage was given to the side characters & their scenes seemed never ending. The only good thing about this drama is the lead pair & the chemistry that the couple shares but other than that, all the tracks & the characters are quite weak & don’t really succeed in grabbing my attention.
Washma was shocked at what Shaheer did, that is why she barged into his office & told him to rectify the situation, as she only asked for a favor from him & never really meant that she was serious about anything. Shaheer decided to convince Washma & all the things he said pretty much made sense that is why Washma not only calmed down but understood what he said & meant. Shaheer knows that Washma doesn’t believe in planning things beforehand & also she was at that stage in life where she had no idea what the future will hold for her, so he tried to make her realize that getting married to Shaheer was the best option because not only her brother was happy but also because she had a point to prove to her ex-fiancé Arsalan too.
Washma immediately understood everything that Shaheer said & just because she happens to be quite impulsive, she went ahead & decided to go ahead with this adventure too. Washma might not have any other reason to get married to Shaheer, but her brother’s happiness & approval was enough for her to accept Shaheer’s proposal because for Washma, Waheed’s happiness means everything & she wants him to live a peaceful life where his wife can’t use Washma as an excuse to pester him.
I loved the way Washma tackled Imdaad Hussain. It was actually quite amusing that Imdaad Hussain became Washma’s father in front of Shaheer whereas in privacy, he never left an opportunity to make advances at her. Imdaad Hussain had never imagined that Shaheer would choose Washma as his life partner & that is why, rather than being shocked himself, he decided to let his wife know that Shaheer’s wife Washma will give Nishat a run for her money. I still find Nishat OTT & felt that her scenes & conversations were not only unnecessary but were stretched & repetitive as well, so there was nothing new that she discussed.
I don’t really understand why Areesha was so mad at Shaheer’s decision of marriage? Shaheer has given her a nod of approval that he would definitely meet Omar, the guy she wants to get married to, so what’s the harm in waiting for a couple of weeks more? Just like Nishat, Areesha’s track is nor too impressive neither interesting & I feel the drama is quite in an early stage to be depending heavily on the fillers already.
Arsalan got way more coverage than required too but I hope this was the last time we saw him. Abeera’s forlorn face didn’t help the situation either. She herself went & challenged Shaheer so by now, she must’ve known him for a considerable amount of time to be aware of the fact that Shaheer won’t sit quietly & will make sure to take up the challenge that Abeera set for him. So, now when Shaheer informed her of what she was eagerly waiting for, then why was she so upset? I hope this was the last time we saw her too because it won’t be fun seeing her meddling in Shaheer & Washma’s marital life. The only character, apart from Shaheer & Washma that I enjoy watching the most is of Washma’s brother Waheed. His reactions are spot on & so is his acting. Waheed is a perfect example of how brothers should be, where they allow their sisters to breathe & take decisions regarding the most important aspects of their life.
Overall, this episode was alright but I feel the side characters are taking a lot of screen-time & unnecessarily at that, which is why it has made the pace a bit slow. I think Asad Siddique & Faryal Mehmood are the weakest in terms of acting & it is quite burdensome to watch them. Arij Fatima & Faysal Qureshi are doing their job really well & like I mentioned in the last week’s review, I will mention it again that it was quite tiresome to watch this episode as well because of the camera movements. I so wish they hadn’t done that because I seriously can’t imagine how will I follow the rest of the drama. Please share your thoughts about this episode of App Ke Liye!
Ohkay so, don’t you love it when you expect one thing & the drama-makers surprise you with another & oh, did I mention ‘pleasantly’ surprise you with another. I just loved loved loved this episode of Besharam & I can’t explain how happy the thought process of the writer makes me. I actually thank Sarwat Nazeer for coming up with such a brilliant drama & such such amazing characters that are such a breath of fresh air, who are unconventional & have so much of substance. I just love this drama & also, I love how every episode gives me something new to talk about!
I actually expected that Haider won’t take things lightly & what Mishal did will definitely create a rift between them but I was not only surprised but ecstatic at the way Haider handled everything. Yes, he had the right to be angry at her & he did let her know what he was going through as he could see that now his mother won’t sit still & she won’t give Mishi a chance. I loved that on his own, Haider immediately understood that it was only because of Humna that Mishi pushed herself to such an extent in order to help her but he was more concerned about what his mother will say or do. Haider is one of a kind & he is proving to be such a husband who doesn’t only believe in ‘saying’ that he will give time & space to his wife, but proves it with his attitude & behavior. Haider knew what Mishi did wasn’t easy for her as during the time she has spent with him, Mishi has depicted her mind-set & through her conduct she has let him know that she doesn’t fall in a category of those models who society deems as ‘besharam’ & that is why, Haider found it easy to forgive what Mishi did as he understood her perspective & knew that what she did was only to save Humna from a marriage that she most certainly wasn’t ready for.
Not only Haider, but Humna pleasantly surprised me too because she didn’t just become a spectator & let Mishi face the brunt for what she did. Humna made sure to let Haider & also Khadija know that she was the one who asked for Mishi’s help & it was only her helplessness that compelled Mishi to put up such an act. Haider didn’t listen to what she had to say but at least Humna conveyed her message to Khadija, which obviously didn’t calm her down completely but convinced her a tad bit that Mishi wasn’t entirely responsible for everything.
I loved how once again Haider’s entire family came together & walked past this phase too. Being a mother, Khadija’s concerns are rational & understandable. She wants to see her daughter getting settled with a decent life partner & she also understands that Mishi’s presence might become a hindrance but at least, she listened to what Haider had to say & eventually ended up giving Mishi another chance. The thing I like about Khadija the most is that she is a true mother, who shares her frustrations & fury with her children, but also respects them enough to listen to their stance & understand where they are coming from, which is why, Khadija tried to forget what her daughter in law did & ended up having a detailed conversation with her where she made her familiar with the do’s & don’ts of her household. Also, after this entire fiasco, I loved Mishi’s behavior the most, where she didn’t try to prove that what she did was right, rather she understood everyone’s agitation & gave them a fair chance to have their say as she knew that this act of hers saved Humna’s life & that is why she silently accepted everything because her mission was accomplished.
Finally, Haider is on the move now & he has made his career his priority. Haider has understood that his passion for politics won’t earn him bread, that is why he became serious about the job hunt. What pushed him a little further was the confession of Sikandar where he found out that the money that he was relying on was stolen. Haider also found out that Mishi was the one who paid the rent of his office, which was another push that he got that made him even more convinced that he had to make some money so that he could pay Mishi back as soon as possible. Haider obviously didn’t expect that Sikandar will give him such a tragic news but he most certainly is not the one who will let go of everything so easily. I am sure that Haider will make Sikandar pay him by hook or by crook & for that, I hope Sikandar finds the truth about Saba pretty soon.
Even though Kabeer’s confession seemed a bit unrealistic but then I guess he was drunk & had no control over his tongue, therefore he ended up telling Jaani the secret, that eventually Mishal found out about. It was actually beneficial that Haider shared what was on his mind with Mishail, that is why she was able to put two & two together & knew that the money Saba gave to Kabeer partially belonged to Haider too & this was something that was bothering Haider a lot. I really like how slowly & steadily, Mishi has become a part of Haider’s family & his life & now he is at that stage where he easily shares his problems with her like any husband usually would.
I loved the conversation Haider & Mishi had about peaceful sleep that Mishi experiences in Haider’s home. Mishi is definitely at a happy place in this relationship & more than happy, she is content with her decision & that is why she is giving it a 100% & what’s even better is that despite feeling a little insecure, Haider also sees how Mishi has settled herself in this new phase of her life which often leaves him stunned because Mishi is turning out to be like he never really imagined or expected her to be.
Overall, this entire episode was amazing & I was craving for more when it ended. Mishi & Haider are past the stage where they were understanding each other & were hesitant. Now they are a team & more than that, they have understood how things work & what they both expect from each other, that is why they are making things work the best way possible. I am so glad that Haider quickly put everything in the past & forgave Mishi for what she did because that definitely could’ve made things worse but I am so so so glad that the story of this drama is far from being typical & that’s the best part about it, for which I will thank the writer once again for giving us something totally new & different amidst the rough patch where every other drama is either about a divorce or a halala! Obviously, another best part of this drama is the chemistry between Saba Qamar & Zahid Ahmed & their top-notch acting of course. I must say, I love the to-the-point approach of the director the most, he surely has done a brilliant job & I love the editing of this drama as well. The creative team has really done justice to such a powerful script & it is really good to see such an amazing script being dramatized to perfection. Anyways, I can’t wait to see how Mishi will deal with Saba in the episodes to come, I hope she makes her confess her mistakes in front of her parents so that they get a reality check. Please share your thoughts about this amazing amazing amazinggg episode of Besharam. :)
Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.
ps: I thank ARY Digital once again for choosing Tuesdays for airing Besharam, you guys have no idea how it uplifts my mood after watching a dud episode of Zara Yaad Kar.
Ohkay so, all you guys who’ve watched this episode, can you tell me if anything happened in this episode practically which contributed in the story in any way possible? This episode was a complete filler & I am so not understanding that what is it that is preventing the director from wrapping this drama up. Seriously, this past hour was the longest & the most boring hour of my life & I am so done with this drama that I am unable to pay attention to what the characters are saying & for this, I hold the writer & the director responsible completely!!!
Accha, to yani Haadi ka kaam sirf botiyan torna hi reh gaya hai, I mean the amount of food he has gulped down alone is equal to a month’s supply of food of any regular sized family in Pakistan. Looks like the only purpose of Haadi himself & everyone around him is to make sure he stays over-fed all the time. Haadi has once again proved a point that he has no brains of his own because he does what everyone around him tells him to do. For Haadi, Mahnoor is quite an immature person, so why did he take her gibberish so seriously that he ended up calling Uzma to tell her that she was doing a compromise in the name of marriage. I mean, talk about being stupid. Haadi knows that Uzma loves him & Haadi also knows that he can not reciprocate the love she has for him, so why did he turn himself into a ‘phappay kutni’ & ended up brain feeding Uzma that she was only compromising with Fahad which she definitely shouldn’t do. If Haadi was so concerned for Uzma, then he should’ve manned up a bit, should’ve thrown Mahnoor out of his life & should have gone to Uzma straight away & proposed to her because in anyway, she is more compatible to him than Mahnoor, his mental wavelength matches to Uzma more than Mahnoor’s & he also emotionally relies on Uzma more than he relies on Mahnoor, so what is stopping him? He knows that Uzma loves him, so he should love her back & get married to her & IF NOT, then there was absolutely NO point in telling her to not get married & move on in her life. Haadi can happily live a life of a dog stuck with a bone, but he definitely doesn’t have a right to stop Uzma from moving on!!!
Seriously, it seems like Gaiti ki puri family sirf English aur Urdu ki taangain torne ke liye hi bethi hui hai!!! The coverage that Gaiti’s family got was so out of the place & unnecessary that I found myself reaching out to my cell phone during their scenes. I guess the director should have known better because IF we were interested in seeing a ‘realistic portrayal’ of a political scenario, we could’ve easily switched to any Pakistani News Channel because that’s where we would’ve gotten an authentic dosage of politics but guess what Ms. Director, everything that you showed us through Gaiti’s track didn’t spark an interest because this drama was based on something entirely different & I am still having a hard time in developing in interest in Gaiti’s life as a politician because this has nothing to do with the original story & this track seems to be a part of an entirely different drama. I don’t really understand how the director will wrap this particular track up because it just isn’t related to the main theme of the drama. We all know that Gaiti is an honest person & she is striving to be an even better politician with values & morals, but then what’s the point of this entire political scenario which is nothing but just a filler, because like I said, is se behtar tha ke hum News Channels hi dekh lete aggar drama mai politics hi dekhni thin to.
Ufff Aneesa aur uska falsafa. I find it actually quite amusing that every time Aneesa blurts a falsafa, the director zooms in the frame of the person who happens to be her listener, as if her falsafa is making an impact in someone’s life, which most certainly is not the case because if her falsafa had an ounce of impact, it would’ve changed Mahnoor’s behavior. Alright, we already know that Mahnoor hasn’t changed & Haadi & Aneesa believe in helping her, so what’s next? What else? We watched this drama in a hope to see the consequences that Mahnoor will face but here, she seems dheet than ever & besharam than ever, so what’s the point???
Anoushay is mentally disturbed & her speech about how her father didn’t give her much time didn’t strike a chord because her story also wasn’t a part of the main plot of the drama & her late entry has only turned her into a drama-crasher, so nope, I am not interested in knowing what her back-story was & why she is so annoying. She is ready to get married to an uncle like Waqar, that’s pretty self-explanatory so we don’t need to see or know anything else!!!
Please guys, if you have any idea, do let me know when does this torture end because I have lost the last bit of patience I had with this drama & at this point, I am most certainly not interested to see how things will end between all these pathetic characters!!! Amna Nawaz Khan commented in the initial reviews that this story will become quite interesting, so it looks like I watched the entire drama in a ‘hope’ for something that wasn’t meant to be. I hope that she comments now & explains what is happening & why does it look like we’re watching a second season of this drama? We need an explanation because when they expect us to invest our time in their mindless dramas, then they owe us an explanation & to some extent an apology too!!! Please share your thoughts about this pathetic filler episode of Zara Yaad Kar & please say a prayer for my patience & for the ending of this drama as well!!!
The singer with the most engaging voice ” Qurat-ul-Ain Baloch” has made her debut in Bollywood. QB voice will now be heard in the movie “Pink” of Amitach Bachan, the song title is Kaari Kaari. The lyrics of the song are very emotional and the way QB sang it made it a piece of perfection.

Here are some of the “developments” from tonight’s episode which yet again proved that Mann Mayal is the joke of the century!
*Jeena apparently locked all the servants in a room before attempting to poison Mannu and her kids!!! We are still trying to figure out how these servants know that Jeena was locking them up so that she could poison Mannu and her kids. Did she tell them why she was locking them up? And if she didn’t tell then how did Jamil figure out there was zehr in the not-so-fresh juice.
*Mikael is killed only after apologizing to every person dead or alive whom he ever harmed – it was a quintessential kuttay ki mout. Illyas from Udaari left his home to find Meeran but on the way he was asked to do this one favor by team Mann Mayal! That is why he did not even have the time to change his get up.
* Salahuddin goes in coma only after hearing Mannu tell him everything he wanted to hear. Mannu is convinced that she is Manhoos therefore from now on we can all call her Manhoos Mannu. Anyone who cares for her or loves her gets a cardiac arrest. Our very own Manhoos Mannu has a new super power now!
*Manhoos Mannu’s conversation with Salahuddin in which she insisted he knew there was zehr in the juice was Mann Mayal logic once again! How could he possibly know? “Aisa thori krte hei” dialogue was so out of place.
Just like every other episode of Mann Mayal, this one too lacked substance. There were too many coincidences and a desperate attempt to make people tune into the show next week. If this drama is doing so well why does team Mann Mayal keep on showing these illogical twists and turns to grab the attention of the viewers? Like I predicted last week this episode banked heavily on zehr and pistol! How many people out there will actually tune in next week because they are dying to find out whether Salahuddin survives or not? I am certain very little because at this point even those people who were watching this drama purely for entertainment purposes have been forced to ask obvious questions which are an attempt to find logic in this very illogical story which has been stretched to the limit. It reminds me of Shukk over and over again!
The preview of the next episode showed that someone finally decided to inform Salahuddin’s parents and Mannu goes back to her parents – better late than never! Mannu wants to start a new life – shukr hai – this could mean that this drama is finally headed towards an ending.
Sorry, no screenshots today – Mann Mayal is not worth the effort!
How many of you watched this latest episode? Would love to hear from you all.
In the last episode the most inspirational character is that of Saba Hamid as when she tells her son Mohid that he physically abused his wife and also pushed her to leave the house in the middle of the night. Whereas it is the responsibility of a husband to protect his wife rather than humiliating her.
The last episode of Dillagi has left such a strong impact on the audience that everyone want to know what exactly will be the ending of the drama serial Dillagi. Whether the director and writer of the story will kill Mohid or both the hero Mohid and heroine Anmol will finally meet each other?
In a statement Humayun shared that they have made two endings of the play and most probably he will share them with audience so that they can tell what ending they want. But on the other hand he also says it seems tough as on hand he believes that Mohid should die as Afzal died in Pyaarey Afzal but he also thinks that majority of the audience want the hero and heroine to meet. So let’s see what the director and writer decides.
Lately , Saira Shakira has got done a photoshoot of the products for Crimson by Ali Xeeshan. No doubt Saira is an excellent designer but this time when the pictures of the shoot came out , it caused problem to many.
Social media spoke out loud against the way the pictures were shot, in a picture the model Sanam Saeed is standing and few men are starring at her in a very demeaning manner. This picture completely seems a support material for harassment.
Another picture by Ali Xeeshan in which the model Amna Baber is standing with Hasnain Lehri and he is forcefully holding her wrist. This picture has also remained the talk of the town. The audience believe it projects male dominance.
Saira and Ali both have tried to clarify the situation that the entire shoot was not done with such intention. Saira said in the Sanam Saeed picture we are trying to show that she is a celebrity and people are just attracted to her good looks. Saira also insisted that let the entire shoot come out and then people should decide what the exact theme is.
Ali also explained on Instagram that he has not thought of demeaning woman in shoot at all, according to him he was only showing the real face of our society. Ali has removed the pictures at Instagram as he believe that people do not want to face the truth.
Anum Akram of Crimson explains the entire thing as internet scandal and people are viewing the pictures out of context. No matter what the context is but pictures really are very disturbing. Sad but true!
Apart from the designers these celebrities Sanam Saeed & Amna Baber who are woman them self must be questioned that why they got ready for doing such kind of shoot, which is just a cheap marketing stunt.
Nausheen Shah has confirmed that she has been casted as a heroine along with Ali Azmat in the upcoming comedy film “Jhol”. Nausheen also shared that previously the movie was titled two+two but now the directors feel that “Jhol” is a more appropriate title.
The character of Nausheen shah is that of a very bold and naughty women who gets involve with Ali Azmat, who is playing a role of a police inspector. Regarding Ali Azmat character, Rafique she said that his character is quite close to his original personality. According to the producers Ali Azmat is playing a role of flirtatious police inspector and will be seen on the bike most of the time.
Along with Nausheen Shah and Ali Azmat other cast members include Urwa Hocane who is playing the role of business lady , Saleem Mairaj as a terrorist, Babra sharif as veteran doctor, Bilal Ashraf as a doctor and Mustafa Qureshi.
Let’s see how the chemistry of Nausheen and Ali turns out on the Big Screen.
On August 27th a concert is taking place in Karachi in which Umair Jaswal will compete with Ali Azmat the decision of the concert shall be made on the basis of duel. The higher the attendees of the concert will shout in the decibel meter for the particular artist, that artist will win. The concert will be having three rounds. In the first round there will be in house – DJ who will play songs and both the artist will perform a cover of that song. In the second round one artist will sing his famous song and other will pick up the song from the middle and finish it. Where as in the third round both the singers will sing their own songs in three distinct styles. In the last round each artist will invite a guest of their own choice and perform with him.
Tickets for the concert are available at Dunkin Donuts, Nueplex Cinema, Aghas and Butlers Chocolate Café.
According to Ali Azmat he comes from the era of Pakistani music when singers worked extremely hard and achieve success but now a days the young talent has easily accessible platforms. According to Ali the rock music in Pakistan does not have a bright future. Whereas Jaswal has a different opinion and believes that rock music just needs some time otherwise it has an excellent future in Pakistan.
So let’s see on this 27th that whether Garaj Baras Saavan Ghir Ayo star wins or Tere Bin star. Well both are excellent singers, therefore we wish both of them best of luck.
The best thing about these award shows was the content which was 100 percent Pakistani with the exception of the language of course. Unlike many other award shows, even those which pay tribute to Pakistani films, this one really did prove that LSA organizers were truly proud of all that Pakistani cinema had managed to achieve in this year. The whole purpose of an award ceremony is to showcase the talent which such a ceremony promises to pay tribute to and although the 15th Lux Style Awards had some lows but it managed to achieve this particular purpose effortlessly. This was also one of those very few award shows which have some emotional moments to its credit. The primary reason for this was that the people who were chosen to host the show and those who performed on different dances were very spontaneous. Ali Zafar turned out to be an incredible host; there wasn’t a single moment when one felt like he was not comfortable hosting this show. Very often the hosts look like they are under pressure and they are trying too hard but Ali Zafar managed to host this grand ceremony without making it look like he had a huge burden on his shoulders. Ali Zafar’s opening performance was not just entertaining but most importantly extremely relevant, intelligent and meaningful.
I am a huge fan of Ahmed Ali Butt and Vasay Chaudhry but it was good to see new faces on the stage this time around. Some of the jokes fell flat but there were others in which the satire was very amusing and also informative at times! The way Ali Zafar introduced Yasir Hussain on stage went to show that they would rather have skipped this part but it needed to be done. Yasir Hussain was just as spontaneous as Ali Zafar and there was hardly a time when it felt like they were following a script. It was also good to see Fawad Khan contributing to this ceremony because it has been a while since he performed in any show. Ahmed Ali Butt and Fawad Khan’s skit was funny especially because of their acting.
The most emotional moments of the award show were Mahira Khan dedicating her award to her father. This particular moment was emotional because her father was present in the audience. Faysal Qureshi dedicating his award to the Kashmiri people was definitely touching. But the most touching moment of all was the way Amjad Sabri was presented with the lifetime achievement award. The lyrics of the song which was sung for him, the performances by all the artists involved, the reaction of the audience and most importantly the presence of his family members on the event were all the factors which made this moment count.
Another aspect of this award show which I found truly impressive was the way the celebrities accepted their awards. All of them gave credit to others more than their own self; their might be a lot of competition in our industry but this was one time when it felt like even with all the competition all of these people are striving for a bigger purpose. Only four dance performances were shown on the show (I watched the show online, if there were more please feel free to correct me). The performance by Farhan Saeed and Urwa Hocane was on a song from the film Manto. Farhan Saeed and Urwa Hocane’s chemistry along with the way this song was choreographed made it entertaining. All three performances by Mahira Khan were energetic and on point. This was the first time Mahira Khan performed on stage but she managed to do it like a pro. Shehryar Munawwar and Mohsin Abbas were very energetic, they made their presence felt. Hamayun Saeed like Fawad Khan is one of those very few stars who have charisma and talent both therefore sometimes their presence alone can make a huge difference.
Sohai Ali Abro didn’t have much to contribute as a host. She was confident and looked comfortable on stage but Ahmed Ali Butt was clearly the one running the show. Ahmed Ali Butt and Vasay Chaudhry always deliver, both of them are witty and confident. The “hereos tayar kiye hei India ke liye” joke was one of those funny and satirical one liners which completely won me over. All the celebrities took the jokes well. Hamza Ali Abbasi’s jokes were funny especially the one about him getting banned all the time. I did however feel like Hamza Ali Abbasi is always trying to prove a point which can be off putting. The cameraman did a great job of covering the reactions from the audience. The “mummy aap kya keh rahi hei” addition to Mahira Khan’s performance came as a nice surprise and reminded me of the Hamsafar days.
Sohai Ali Abro’s performance which was mentioned thrice in the show was skipped altogether. Did the editor decided to chop it off? If yes then I am wondering why he didn’t chop down the parts in which it was mentioned. It was announced but never shown. Also, the controversial joke about “jeena ke maa baap” was edited from the show, which was a wise move. The fact that many of the celebrities did not turn up to receive their awards stuck out like a sore thumb especially because there were celebrities who rejected their nominations by LSA before the award show was held. Although the editing of the show wasn’t perfect but it was definitely good that the dance performances were kept to the minimum and the show wasn’t too long.
Overall, this show was entertaining and it managed to serve its purpose of paying tribute to Pakistani artists and Pakistani content. Out of all the award shows I have seen so far this had to be my favorite.
How many of you watched the 15th Lux Style Awards? Do share your thoughts about it.
Ohkay so, it is good to see that things are moving forward in Kathputli. Even though in the initial stages of the drama, it looked like it was going to be a typical story but I like how every episode takes the story in such a direction which we couldn’t predict beforehand.
Ahad finally brought his father to his & Mehru’s home. At least, Ahad wasn’t oblivious of how his father was going to treat Mehru & what he was capable of doing & that is why it was good to see him being extra cautious & worried about what could potentially happen. Ahad’s father has become quite bitter after what he has gone through with his wife passing away & his son abandoning him, but at least it is good that he now has Ahad & Mehru who’re there to look after him. It didn’t take him long to change his perspective about Mehru, which was a surprise & definitely pleasant at that. I thought he was actually going to give Mehru a very very hard time but that didn’t happen. I liked how he reflected on the past & realized how different sharing a space with Ahad & Mehru was. It is good to know that Ahad has finally gotten a chance to take care of his father; who himself is guilt stricken for how harshly he treated his wife her entire life. Sadly, Ahad couldn’t do much for his mother but it is good to see that he is doing everything for his father & not only that, he also has Mehru’s support & understanding too.
What I liked the most about Mehru’s approach was that she didn’t try to push herself in the matters concerning Ahad & his father. She did what she could do to help her father in law but didn’t go hard on herself where she put everything aside, curbed every other responsibility that she had in a hope to impress her father in law. I liked how she continued doing her chores like a routine without worrying much about what Ahad’s father must be thinking about her. The thing that I liked the most was that it was Mehru’s attitude & her conduct that automatically drew Ahad’s father towards her & forced him to realize that she was definitely different & better than Mehwish & that is why he immediately accepted her & told Ahad to be comfortable as well.
I most certainly believe that Saira’s sisterly brother was so not needed in this drama. The way they both spoke on the phone made me believe that Umair will only talk about their past & they will discuss how they used to have a great time in their childhood but the way he kept on prying into Saira’s personal life & interrogated her like an agony aunt was so unpleasant. If Umair feels Saira’s not happy with Ehtashaam then he has all the more reasons to stay away from her life because he should be mature enough to know that he can cause more problems between Saira & her husband with such a nosy attitude & also, what was he trying to imply or instigate by telling Saira’s mother that she was unhappy, like does he want her to leave her husband’s home or what? I would actually hate to see Saira suffering because of Umair, even though Ehtashaam is no exception but at least, she is trying her level best to keep her husband happy so Sister Umair should let her be. Umair’s concerns for Saira were so not needed & I would hate to see him getting more coverage than required.
I so want to feel Zeenat’s pain but she makes sure to say such a thing every single time that makes me dislike her character even more. I know she misses Mehru & feels for her but I have never heard her pray for her daughter’s safety. This time around Zeenat wished that Mehru had died so that Zeenat could live in peace, like what sort of a mother is she? I think she should be ashamed of herself for not being strong enough to protect Mehru herself & also for the fact that she gave Ehtashaam & Hassam all the right to run the course of Mehru’s life. Every time I find myself cringing from hearing Zeenat’s thoughts, Saira comes in like a breath of fresh air who is not only hopeful but optimistic about the fact that Mehru must be doing something amazing with her life. Also, Zeenat is waiting for the day when Ehtshaam will forgive Mehru so that she’d be able to meet her daughter, whereas Zeenat should take a stand for her only daughter, show Ehtshaam his right place & order him to bring his sister home. Zeenat is also completely responsible for what Ehtashaam has done with Mehru & it is actually bizarre of her to be completely alright with the fact that her only daughter is fighting her battles alone, in a hope that someday Ehtashaam will forgive her & then Mehru will be allowed to come back!!! I feel Zeenat on her own has turned herself into a bechari whereas being a mother she definitely can take charge of how things roll in her household & can easily deprive Ehtashaam of the power he has attained!!!
Overall, this episode was good too. Once again, I enjoyed the interaction between Mehru & Ahad. I really like how Mehru speaks with Ahad in an accusatory tone, there’s something quite amusing about it & makes their scenes fun to watch. I loved how Mehru taunted Ahad about obligatory prayers & Ahad ended up listening to her despite getting annoyed. I must say, Umair is giving quite a complex to all the girls out there who have sparse eyebrows, I mean seriously, I couldn’t concentrate on anything else when he was on the screen, lol! Anyways, the preview of the next episode suggested that Saira will be forced to leave Ehtashaam & things won’t be smooth between Mehru & her father in law as well. I just hope that Ahad’s father stops being a party-pooper & respects & appreciates the fact that in this day & age, he has a son who is taking care of him & has a daughter-in-law who is so rooted & decent. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Kathputli.
This episode once again focused on the lack of any positive developments in Sajida’s case because so far no one is willing to share the truth with Arsh. Arsh’s commitment to this case, the faith he has in himself and his relationship with Meeran was also covered in this episode. For now Arsh is standing out more than any other character in this play. Ahsan Khan has already established himself as an actor who continues to grow and impress. In the previous episode and also in this one Farhan Saeed’s acting was truly impressive. This is the first time I am watching him act and I must say he is a natural. This drama has some incredible performances to its credit but the pace of the drama has slowed down for now. Most of us were expecting this drama to be more about Zebu; her growth as an individual and the story of a survivor but that is not the case. However, the positive aspect of the latest developments is that for the first time we are watching a case like this go to court and the viewers are definitely learning that staying silent in such situations can be suicidal. Arsh knows that Zebu has something to do with this case but his hands are tied. Also, showing Imtiaz making the most of this situation because Sajida will never tell the truth in court goes to show who is actually benefiting from this situation. Arsh’s mother gave her blessings in this episode but even after all these years Meeran has not moved on. Is it because Meeran hasn’t completely forgotten her first love or because she never wants anyone to be in a position to hurt her like that ever again? I must say that even after all these years watching these two people standing exactly where they were emotionally so many years back isn’t exactly easy to connect to. I had a difficult time relating to this particular track even though Urwa Hocane and Farhan Saeed’s acting was on point. Zebu got plenty of screen time in this episode and there were times when Hina Altaf’s acting was up to the mark while there were others when once again I was wondering how could a director who chose someone like Ahsan Khan to play Imtiaz’s role cast someone who was a complete misfit for playing Zebu’s role. Although Zebu doesn’t have a bigger role to play in the picture but even then Hina Altaf makes it very difficult for the viewers to feel for Zebu’s character. The scene in which Zebu grabs a knife to kill Imtiaz could have been far more powerful if Ins-e-Yazdan wasn’t the one who tried to stop her. That particular scene became a lot more meaningful as soon as Urwa Hocane stepped in – which basically goes to show what a huge difference a good actor can make. Imtiaz’s relationship with Malik sahab also got a lot of screen time tonight to show how his support was the main reason behind Imtiaz’s confidence. This is one of those things which has been very well established by now therefore these scenes could easily have been chopped down. Sheedan’s character did not get enough screen time in this episode, I miss watching her scenes. I love the camerawork in Udaari, usually there are more close-ups in dramas and fewer scenes in which all the characters in the scene are covered but that is not the case here. I wasn’t looking forward to Illyas’ comeback but since we were shown that he will be back in the preview of one of the episodes therefore I am wondering what happened to that development in the story. HUM really needs to work on the previews of their dramas because they are very often extremely misleading. Sajida’s case will start in the next episode, I am waiting to see how this track will be handled. How many of you watched this latest episode? Do share your thoughts about it.
The episode begins with Adil’s mum overhearing him talking about keeping both the girls at a farmhouse. I was surprised at how he had a sinister smile on his face after such a heinous act. He is turning out to be a purely psychotic character. His mother becomes worried. Adil tells his friend Yousuf to take away Geeti’s body from the farmhouse. Aamna, Faiz and Moiz discuss the situation and Moiz can’t understand why there’s so much hesitation on Ubaid’s part to go to the police. Faiz says Moiz doesn’t know all the hassle that goes into dealing with the police. Aamna agrees and Moiz gets frustrated. I feel even though both Aamna and Faiz come across as insensitive at times, they are the ones that actually give a reality check to the other characters.
Tooba is traumatized and remembers all the happy times she spent with Geeti. She remembers one incident when Tooba volunteers to convey Geeti’s feelings to Adil but Geeti tells her she’s not in favour of using a messenger between them. In Tooba’s mind, Adil likes Geeti as much as she does. Geeti says she’s so in love with Adil that she can die for him. The irony of it all makes Tooba more upset.
Salma can’t stop thinking about what she had overheard nor can she share it with anyone, not even her husband. She keeps wondering what her son is actually up to and thinks if her son is behind Geeti and Tooba’s kidnapping. I really wanted her to ask Adil directly or at least talk to Waqar but it didn’t happen.
While praying with Maira, for Tooba’s safe return, Khadija faints. Tania calls their father to take her to the hospital. The doctor comes to see Khadija and says her health has deteriorated due to stress and advices rest otherwise she would be in the hospital. Breaking news comes on TV and everyone gets to know that a dead body has been found in a dumpster which is recognized as Geeti’s. Akhtar falls ill. Adil’s mum can’t believe it’s her son and thinks he can’t be so ruthless.
I felt the scenes from taking Akhtar in the ambulance to the hospital were too elaborate and long. The doctors try really hard to revive Akhtar but he passes away from a sudden heart attack due to shock and immense grief.
Adil comes to the farmhouse and Tooba gets very scared. He threatens her not to speak to anyone about Geeti’s murder so that there’s no witness. He warns her that if she tries to speak he’ll kill her or her sisters and her father will end up like Akhtar.
Aamna tells Maira not to inform Khadija about the deaths. She also says maybe Tooba will have the same fate. Neighbors gossip and want to know what has happened but Aamna doesn’t tell them the truth about Tooba or about her mother’s poor health.
The family doesn’t want to file a case but the police agree to investigate the incident. Ubaid has become very depressed and Waqar tries to comfort him and give him some strength.
Adil’s friend has been instructed to call Tooba’s home and terrorize them so they don’t contact the police or else she’ll have the same consequence as Geeti. Adil doesn’t want to keep Tooba at the farmhouse any longer and asks his friend to help him.
Faiz wants to spend some time alone with his wife. Although Maira is with Faiz, she keeps tense and concerned about her mother and sister. This makes Faiz very annoyed and blames Tooba for spoiling his marriage. I couldn’t understand his sudden outburst and really couldn’t believe that Faiz would be portrayed as an inconsiderate character. I’m hoping there is good reason for this later on in the story.
Yousuf and Adil are such cheapsters, saying all horrible and disgusting things to threaten Tooba into keeping quiet. I am surprised at how a suave, apparently well-bred person like Adil who has such a wise and morally strong father like Waqar can behave like this. Adil tries to reason Geeti’s murder, saying he was provoked by her and lost his temper. Both of them plan on allowing Tooba to go home.
Let’s see how Tooba manages to go home and face everyone’s comments and questions in the next episode.

“Jub dil ka darwaza khul jaye tu chahney wale wapas aa hi jate hei” This episode of Dil Lagi focused on the aftermath of what transpired between Mohid and Anmol but this time around the viewers got to see the reaction from Anmol’s mother after she found out about the lies Anmol had been telling Mohid. Interestingly enough this episode was like a rerun of the discussion under the Dil Lagi review last week. Anmol voiced the opinion of those who sided with her, Anmol’s mother said everything which viewers who thought there was no reason to feel for Anmol said and Mohid did not plead his case at all but he once again pleaded Anmol’s case by saying that perhaps the way he asked her the question wasn’t appropriate. This proves the fact yet again that all the viewers understand these characters and always find it easy to connect to them from some perspective or the other.
Anmol once again is trying harder than ever to follow her mind and not her heart. This time around doing so is even more tough because she has fallen in love with Mohid. Anmol’s meeting with Mohid when she was on her way to see the lawyer was one of the best scenes of tonight’s episode. The dialogues and the way this scene was directed reminded me of the times when Mohid fell in love with Anmol and was trying to win her over. The big difference now is that Mohid is convinced that Anmol loves her, he can see it in her eyes but he doesn’t want her to feel defeated. Also, when Anmol calls him back after he turns to go away went to show that she did not want Mohid to give up on her, on this relationship! In the previous episode Zulekha was shown supporting Anmol and in this episode Anmol’s mother supported Mohid.
“un ka dil aap ki wakalat krta hai”…this dialogue was spot on! We have seen Mohid justifying Anmol’s unreasonable behaviour more than once. Even in this episode he was looking at things from Anmol’s perspective and justifying her actions. Just when I thought Mishal and Dastagir were not playing their roles as the “supporting characters” they did just that by doing whatever they could to once again convince Anmol how wrong she was about Mohid. Mishal stepped in and said something which was clearly shocking for Anmol when her mother was shouting at her for giving her husband a reason to doubt her. Mishal knows Mohid better than anyone else because she heard his response more than once when she proposed that he should deal with Anmol differently.
“Adhay rastay se wapas lot aye. Mera apne faislo pe se etmad khatam hota ja raha hai.” Anmol has a big ego, she will always expect more from Mohid because it isn’t easy for someone like her to submit to her feelings therefore she will always need Mohid to keep on assuring her that he is worth it. Anmol is also extremely afraid of getting hurt which is why she is more angry with herself right now than with anyone else. Will she ever change? Even though she loves Mohid but she still continues to judge him at every step. She wants him to suffer and try harder to prove that he deserves her love, that she can trust him. Anmol’s character is complicated but perfectly etched-out. Everything she does has Anmol written all over it. Mehwish Hayat is absolutely flawless as Anmol even though it is not an easy character to translate on screen.
“Apne ghur ke darwazay kabhi band nahi hotey” was another dialogue which went to show what a big heart Mohid had. Mohid’s character is that of an intelligent man who puts his relationships above everything else; Hamayun Saeed has definitely nailed this character. It is also good to see mothers for a change who can look at things neutrally and at the end of the day all they want is their children’s happiness. Zulekha for example was not very keen on bringing Anmol back because of her “kari shart” in the beginning of this episode but later on when Mohid was going to see Anmol, she was happy. Saba Hameed’s acting and dress sense both are remarkable in this drama.
“Beghairat aur bezameer insan ko kabhi underestimate nahi krna chahyeh.” Mohid’s meeting with Kafayat Ali once again hinted that he was capable of doing anything to get what he wanted done. How many of you think that killing Mohid in the end would be a good ending? I definitely want this drama to end on a happy note because we have seen Mohid and Anmol suffering for too long. Mohid deserves a happy ending and this would be the only way for Anmol to start a new life which might give her a reason to trust people more and judge them less!
Do share your thoughts about tonight’s episode and don’t forget to share what kind of an ending would you like to see. Looking forward to your feedback.

The budget of the film is not that high.

Ohkay so, these two episodes of Deewana were definitely better because things moved forward that too at a decent pace. There were some conversations which seemed repetitive but then the overall progress was pretty decent which was much required.
So, Haris has packed his bags & has moved to Karachi. I am still not unsure what to make out of Haris’s move because he threatened Amtul & Tabrez that he’ll drag them to court by spilling the beans in front of Subhan’s family, so I am not sure if his ulterior motive of coming to Karachi is that or he is actually thinking of bringing Mehru back in his life? Haris himself has been quite confused but I wish he had sticked to his plan of exposing Amtul & Tabrez because they are doing nothing except ruining his life. It was quite obvious that Haris was unhappy after what he did to Mehru because his conscience didn’t let him live peacefully & may be that was also one of the reasons he turned against Amtul & Tabrez because he became bitter & bitter day by day. Anyhow, his intentions are still dubious because we have seen both the sides of his personality where he can be stubborn enough to do what he feels like & then he can also easily become a puppet of Amtul & Tabrez. I like this uncertainty for now because it keeps the interest alive & for that reason, I am definitely looking forward to see if Haris actually has had a change of heart or he is just getting Mehru back in his life to torture Amtul & Tabrez & to blackmail them by keeping them on the edge that he might tell on them any time.
Finally, Mehru & Falak have confessed their love for each other & Mehru has done her part of the confession even in front of her parents. Their love story is very sweet because both of them are equally committed to each other & respect each other the most. Now it’s time for Falak to come clean but he definitely knows that his reality will come as a shock to Mehru & his honesty might cost him their relationship, that is why he seemed a little uneasy when Mehru told him that she expects nothing but honesty from him. Mehru already has been through a lot & her husband; the love of her life lied to her, that is why the only thing she wants is honesty but sadly, Falak’s honesty is far more complicated for her fragile mind to handle. I like Mehru’s character for the fact that she is not your typical bechari who will keep on sulking because of what life has thrown at her. She has suffered her part of the pain & that is why she is giving herself a chance because Falak made her realize that she can have a second chance at life too where she can be happy & feel loved as well & for that reason, she is taking a stand for her love & is doing everything to let others know that she is ready to move on in her life.
Shabnam finally put forth a proposal of Gaiti for Falak. I loved the way she convinced Husn Ara & tried to tell how much stuff Gaiti will bring if she will get married to Falak. Shabnam might be annoying for others, but when it comes to her daughter she is just a mother who loves her daughter to bits & would do anything to make her happy. Even though Shabnam wants her daughter to get married to Haris, she still tried her luck with Falak’s proposal as she knew that it will make her daughter happy. I like how all the characters are not completely black & white in this drama & only because of that, they seem real & relate-able as they react differently in different situations.
It was good to know Husn Ara’s side of the story too. It looked like her family owned the kingdom but Agha not only snatched their status away but also killed Husn Ara’s husband & Falak’s father. This is the reason why Husn Ara dreads returning back to her own world as she knows that Agha won’t spare Falak too. I hope they cover this side of the story a bit more where we get to see how Falak will deal with this truth & how he will battle with Agha to restore the status & position of his clan.
To be very honest, the most boring & purposeless characters in this drama are Shama & Subhan. They are just there because they are Mehru’s parents because other than that, not only their scenes are boring, their conversations are repetitive to the core too. The moment Shama starts talking, I fast forward her scenes as I already know what she will be saying – she will either be cursing Mehru, or she will be putting a blame on Subhan & if not that, then she will be playing the self-pity card where she will keep on talking about all the things that she has lost & how she is the only victim. I really feel the editor should edit her scenes out because they don’t offer anything at all!
Overall, these two episode of Deewana were definitely good & I liked most of the conversations. I will say that the dialogue writer has done a fabulous job, it is actually quite refreshing to hear such interesting conversations with meaningful dialogues that shed a light on the beauty of our language. Also, I will add that if it wasn’t for these actors, these dialogues wouldn’t have made such an impact, so props to all the actors for conveying these amazing dialogues flawlessly. Even though in all the scenes, it is hard to tell who’s wearing more makeup; Iqra Aziz or Shehroz Sabzwari but I like how their get ups & overall looks compliment the fantasy genre of the drama, so props to the makeup artists & the stylists as well. Anyways, please share your thoughts about these tw episodes of Deewana. :)

Bollywood film Happy Bhaag Jaye Gi which was due to release on 19th August 2016 in Pakistan has been delayed as the film has failed to get the censor certificate required for its screening. As per BBC Urdu, Mubashar Hassan the chairman of the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) has said that initially the film was watched by six members where three rejected the film and three deemed it fit for screening. Upon not reaching a majority decision the film was presented before the full board of CBFC which comprises of all nine members of CBFC. The full board raised objections on many scenes of the film and in any such case the film is referred to the National Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage.
As per Mobashar Hassan the film has some derogatory remarks about the founding father of Pakistan Quaide Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as well as few objectionable references towards Pakistan.
So now the decision of screening of this film lies with the Federal Ministry of Information. Last month another Bollywood film Dishoom also faced the similar fate.
As per BBC Urdu, Happy Bhaag Jaye Gi is the story of a run away bride of Indian citizenship who runs away at the night of her wedding and hides herself in a truck. The truck crosses the border and comes to Pakistan and thus the bride also arrives accidentally in Pakistan.
Pakistani artists Javed Sheikh and Moomal Sheikh have also worked in this film.
The promotion of the film was in full swing where the distributor IMGC has advertised the release of the film in all the leading Urdu and English daily. However the poster of this film published in the papers has no image of either Moomal Sheikh or Javed Sheikh.
The ‘Bay’ Syndrome; a syndrome which compels its victims to imagine & pen down such characters that embody all the characteristics that begin with ‘bay’, examples include ‘bay’ghairat, ‘bay’sharam, ‘bay’shaoor, ‘bay’haya, ‘bay’tukkay, ‘bay’charay so on & so forth.
Surprise surprise, I am writing about the latest trends that our writers have started & the bandwagon of writing the ‘bay’ghairati filled dramas that our writers have hopped on & for that reason, I most certainly believe that most of our writers are down with ‘the ‘bay’ syndrome’ because other than that, there’s no justification to the idiocy that our writers are churning out, one after another. Gone are the days when our writers used to feel the pressure & found it as their moral & ethical duty to pen down such scripts that had some purpose. Gone are the days when our writers used to write such stories that actually contained a message that they felt that needed to be conveyed. Gone are the days when the writers took their job seriously & actually considered what the viewers would want to see & gone are the days when the definition of entertainment was entirely different & definitely better!
These days, it seems like our writers have gotten a wrong idea of what qualifies as an entertainment. Ages ago our writers stopped experimenting with different genres & shoved saas bahu sagas down our throats time & again. It was so obvious that our writers clearly ran out of ideas so they gave a different spin to the stories of domestic issues which were more or less the same. The masses still showed acceptance towards such dramas because they had no other option than to tune to what was being shown but seems like the writers stopped taking their work seriously & came up with a hideous idea of twisting the logic & concepts of Divorce & when they felt that this idea was getting old & rusty, they took their fixation a step further & started exploring (read exploiting) the concept of Halala too!
A few years ago, channels like HUM TV & ARY Digital actually brought back people to Pakistani dramas & made them forget the never-ending hideous dramas of Star Plus which had everything except good stories. We Pakistanis, used to take pride in our Pakistani dramas because we knew that our dramas were completely different & had a meaning but sadly, that is not the case anymore. From the last 3 – 4 years, the quality of our dramas has only deteriorated because it is so obvious that all the toms, dicks & harry’s think they can become a writer & they end up writing down the most idiotic scripts that leave the viewers baffled & furious at their audacity for coming up with such level of ‘bay’ghairti.
There was a time when all our writers were fixated with the sister rivalry & we got so many photocopies of same idea as the writers thought that this is what was going to sell their scripts. After that came a trend in our dramas where everyone got married to the one they were not in love with & planned on eloping with their beloved from the past. Then came a trend of such dramas where each & every female lead was being accused of infidelity. Then came the most amazing trend of ‘dusri biwi’ which some writers once again took a notch higher & threw in 3 – 4 biwis too. I am talking about these trends because they show the lack of creativity that our writers suffer from, where they take it as their duty to follow the lead of those dramas that might do a good job rating wise & this is the reason why we see so many copies of one idea for a certain amount of time.
I am sure by now you guys must’ve understood where I am going with this. Yes, I am talking about the trend that has compelled the writers to play with the concepts of Divorces & Halalas because of which we are seeing so many photocopies of this sickening idea & honestly speaking, I am actually unable to figure out what makes these so-called writers think they can write such pathetic scripts & get away with it? Are they so rating-hungry that they find it totally cool to play with such concepts so brutally? Since our writers have even taught the kids about what divorce is, I am sure when asked, the kids will also say that a divorce means no turning back but here we are, getting to see such dramas where divorce is treated as a cancelled meeting where the involved party tries to arrange a meeting again while completely forgetting about what had transpired between them already. These days in our dramas written by the writers that are down with the ‘bay’ syndrome, we are shown that after getting divorced, the wife tries to go back to her husband citing kids as an excuse conveniently. If the ‘bay’ syndrome writers actually think that their miserable couple can still do well together then why do they shove in the phase of divorce? Only because that’s the easiest way to earn ratings? In stead of exploring the opportunities of how they can show divorce & reconciliation in different lights, why don’t these bay syndrome victims try to explore their heads & see if they have a thing called ‘brain’ inside it or not & if by chance or by luck, they do spot a thing called ‘brain’ then how about putting it to good use because everything is there for a reason so why not use it & see how they go? There was a time when our writers used divorce as a last stage & also as a sign of freedom which put the kibosh on the misery of the couple involved but these days, seems like even divorce doesn’t put an end to the misery & the ex husband & wife still find it in their hearts to get back together, thinking everything will be alright while completely forgetting about the fact that they are divorced!?!?!?!
Mann Mayal; as declared by its creative team, #lovestoryof2016, #bestdramaever – also showed that ‘bay’shaoor & ‘bay’chari Mannu, even after getting divorced was ready to go back to ‘bay’ghairat Mikaeel & even he was thinking of taking her back saying everything will be alright & their cupid Mr. Sallahuddin told his mother that this is a ‘new zamana’ & things like these happen or rather, casual & temporary divorces like these happen so she should just chillax & that is why in the latest episode he was wondering if he could settle a divorced couple abroad for the sake of their kids? How amusing, right!
Even though I haven’t watched Pakeeza but a commenter told me that even after getting divorced, ‘bay’sharam Pakeeza lives with her ex-husband only for the sake of her daughter. I didn’t watch this drama but I did see the promos when it was about to go on-air, where the writer; Bushra Ansari requested people to feel Pakeeza’s journey & relate to it, well sorry writer sahiba, I can not relate to such a story which makes no sense to begin with? Things like these can be expected from Samira Fazal as #naamhikaafihai but I actually believed that Bushra Ansari; being such a seasoned actor with so much of experience knew better & could definitely do better, but sigh!!!
Then we have the most unique writer of recent times; Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, who actually twisted the concept of Halala so badly that my head hurts the moment I think about it. This drama showed that a ‘bay’ghairat girl got divorced because she was in a mood for a new adventure & when she got bored of it, she wanted to get back to her ex-husband so bad that these days she’s on a hunt for some ‘bay’ghairat who’ll become her temporary husband. Can someone please tell Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, that a marriage done with the intention of getting divorced is not valid in the first place, so why did he put so much of pressure on his ‘brain’ & come up with this script & not only that, wasn’t there even a single person in the entire creative unit who could’ve told him ke Uncle jee appse blunder ho gaya hai & this story can not be dramatized as it doesn’t make sense & doesn’t do justice to the concept of Halala actually?
Our writers need to understand that they have a responsibility & they have a duty towards those who tune to their dramas, that is why they just can not show something that happens to be their fantasy as it affects the mentality of others & reaches out to so many people out there. In the recent times, every time I have watched these dramas, I have felt that these writers need to enroll in the schools again & they need to pay attention to their Islamiyat classes because these are the concepts that are taught at a school level but seems like these writers were the famous bunkers of their times & they bunked most of their Islamiyat classes because if they had attended at least 2 – 3 of those lectures, they would’ve known better & they would’ve understood that they are psychotically twisting such basic concepts which serves no purpose at all.
The way these ‘bay’ syndrome victims are twisting the basic & straight forward concepts of divorce & halala is quite alarming. I actually feel infuriated to see that how easily these unqualified individuals believe themselves to be the writers & not only that, they take pride & joy in their writings which actually look like papers that were puked upon & deserved getting dumped into the dustbin but made it to the hands of the producers & they decided to produce it because of being money & rating mongers.
Being a fan & an avid viewer of Pakistani Dramas, I still have hope because in such dark times we still are getting dramas like Diyar-e-Dil, Besharam, Dil Lagi & Udaari, which have nothing to do with divorces still they keep the interest of the viewers alive & are being spoken about for all the right reasons. I hope that these ‘bay’ syndrome victims take inspiration from these drama-writers & come up with something better that has nothing to do with divorces & halalas. Also, I wish the producers curb their hunger for ratings & money & expand their vision to be able to see that those dramas who had nothing to do with divorces & halalas did good in terms of ratings too. I wish to see a better quality dramas with amazing scripts & an actual quotient of entertainment because what we see these days in the name of entertainment is everything but that. It is actually quite sad to see that the channel heads have become so commercialized that for the sake of their commercialism, they are taking such scripts that actually have quite a questionable content that doesn’t really sync with our religious & cultural values. Please share your thoughts about the writers that are suffering from the ‘bay’ syndrome & do let us know if you wish to see these victims getting treated professionally.
