Ohkay so, in this episode of Kashf, the entire focus was on how Imtiyaz was coming up with one plan after another to expand this family business. This was yet another well-directed episode of Kashf. The story however is not making a lot of progress & as much as the drama overall is very engaging, as a viewer I have to fish out for the developments to discuss because they’re very few in each episode. I guess by this time, the viewers should get used to this kind of pace because it seems only a few scenarios will unfold in every single episode with the story mainly revolving around Imtiyaz & Kashf’s equation.
Imtiyaz & Kashf’s Plans
At the beginning of this episode, the light was shed on how far Imtiyaz was ready to go to control Kashf. All the nice things he says to her every now & then basically have no meaning because his actions & behavior repeatedly contradict the act that he puts up of being that courteous & considerate father to her. Unfortunately, he doesn’t mind resorting to such extremes & sadly, no one dares to oppose him.
In this episode, I was pleasantly surprised when Kashf took a stand for herself. Honestly speaking, when I saw Imtiyaz locking her up in the room, I was wondering how long she was going to put up with this kind of treatment but I am glad they decided to show that Kashf very well knew how to take charge of the situation. Although she knows there’s not much that she can do but at least she has started to set some limits because she is aware of the fact that her father is going to abide by all the rules for his selfish reasons. Kashf will get to exercise some authority as far as she does everything that does not get in the way of her father’s bigger plans such as earning a lot of money.
The recurring dreams that Kashf sees about Wajdan & Zoya’s wedding are becoming a little repetitive. Although I do understand that they are recurring & this is exactly what has been shown but I was relieved after watching the promo of the next episode because it seems Kashf is finally going to do something about it to get done with this chapter in her. She has invested a lot of time & knows that nothing’s going to happen, therefore it is wise of her to plan things in such a way that will eventually make her dream come true & that will also serve as a closure for her, which she needs.
The word has spread & this is why people have started to approach Kashf. The entire situation where a male wanted to see Kashf was very interesting especially because she used it to her advantage. I loved seeing how Kashf convinced her father to give the money earned by ladies to her mother & keep the amount given by gents who’d come to see her. This goes to show that Kashf wants to do much more for Dilshad than for Imtiyaz because he will never let go of the money that he will continue to make if Kashf will not put her foot down. Appointing Wajdan was also a good idea because this way she will ensure that he doesn’t do anything irrational & stays engaged with the Asthana. Kashf still has a lot more faith & confidence in Wajdan than she has in her own father, it is unfortunate but convincingly shown how parents often turn a blind eye to the feelings of their children & mistake their silence out of respect as their weakness.
There were a lot such moments which were so meaningful in this episode – like the one where Kashf wanted to appoint Wajdan & told her father that she wanted someone who’d keep a check on who comes in to see her. Imtiyaz obviously couldn’t understand what she meant but it showed that Kashf exactly knows how her father will not put much thought to it if anyone will promise him a handsome amount. The letter Kashf wrote to Wajdan was also really nice & his reaction to it was really cute, he didn’t quite understand where she was coming from but at least he decided to keep her promise. I must also add, the relationship Wajdan & Shumaila share is refreshing too, they support each other & the light-hearted moments they share truly represent a healthy sibling relationship.
I will say I am a little disappointed with Ashi at this stage of the story because all she does is just observe & stay silent to the unjust behavior of Imtiyaz, that too after it has been shown what she is capable of & how she really can come up with different solutions. If she doesn’t want to meddle in the affair of Asthana, that’s perfectly fine but the entire situation where Imtiyaz locked Kashf in the room, I thought she’d be the one to take a stand for Kashf & give Imtiyaz a much-needed reality check. I really hope in the future episodes, we do get to see her doing something than just being a silent spectator.
Well Executed Episode
Overall, this episode of Kashf was an interesting watch like all the previous episodes have been but I guess there’s a little slump in the progress of the story but it doesn’t take away the fact that it still keeps my interest as a viewer alive. All the dream sequences are intelligently executed & make up the most interesting part of every episode. I will, however, say that I want Zoya & Wajdan to get married so that those recurring dreams stop & Kashf moves on – however the rest of the dreams she sees which include Wajdan do hint that despite his marriage, he will stick around & Kashf will still be attached to him emotionally. Waseem Abbas, Hira Mani & Junaid Khan are making Kashf what it is coupled with the brilliant direction of Danish Nawaz. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Kashf.

The LGS scandal has been garnering all sorts of attention on social media. Following the raised voice of a number of female students who faced harassment at the hands of various male teachers at LGS 1A1, the administration of the school fired the teachers involved, barring them and name shaming them on social media and otherwise so that they become a lesson for the rest of the schools.
However in a very recent development it seems as if, actor Omair Rana is also being accused of harassing his underage students while his wife, Maira Omair Rana is being alleged of supporting her husband and silencing the victims by shaming them.
In response to a tweet posted by Osman Khalid Butt, where he applauded LGS management for expelling the teachers involved, a girl pointed out how everyone had missed Omair Rana, who also happened to be a predator hunting underage girls.
The screenshots posted showed girls confessing how they had been harassed by Omair Rana and the constant complaints ignored by the admin that involved his wife, Maira Omair Rana as well.
Even a number of ex students also called out Maira Omar Rana and Ms. Shakeel for being involved in silencing young girls, whom they threatened and blamed to have consented to being involved with teachers especially Omair. Ex students also stated how it wouldn’t be a problem for Omair to play a predator in Pyar Kay Sadqay as he had personal experience of doing the same for ages at LGS 1A1.

The story is also quite relevant since it shows how the reckless use of social networking services can result in getting women in trouble. It also shows that relationships should not be taken for granted or as fun and games. Dil Ruba in an entertaining manner requested young girls to be more cautious while getting too close to men.
Dil Ruba is the story of Sanam, a young college going girl who has many men wrapped around her finger. She posts videos on TikTok and has many followers. She takes gifts from the men who like her and thinks she is doing nothing wrong. Along the way, she breaks many hearts and gets into serious trouble. This drama also has some of the most realistic scenarios and characters. Hira Mani plays the leading role of Kashf, a girl whose dreams literally come true but not always in a good way. This is something that troubles her but her greedy father and few people who exploit religion for money decide to use her ‘superpower’ for monetary gains. Kashf’s relationship with everyone around her has been well-established in the drama.
The struggles of the main protagonist and even her involvement with her fiancé Wajdan played brilliantly by Junaid Khan keeps the drama entertaining. The director deserves credit for presenting on-screen realistically. The dream sequences and their reality was translated on screen exceptionally well in the first few weeks. Kashf is definitely the kind of drama that has the most solid supporting actors playing their role brilliantly well. If you are not watching Kashf, you are missing out on a really interesting play.

Rumi has the coolest and the most likable mother-in-law we have seen in Pakistani dramas. Even though her character was shown in a completely different light in the first few episodes but once she realized that she couldn’t pressurize Hamza into marrying someone he did not like, her character took such a delightful turn. Although Rumi is not your typical bahu either, her saas handles her so well, always with love! Rumi’s mother-in-law is a working woman who minds her own business and makes sure her daughter-in-law feels loved. She has to be the most balanced mother-in-law since she is not the kind who is constantly giving advice but she has always been supportive in her own cool way!
When this character was introduced it seemed like she would turn out to be one of those mothers-in-law who continue plotting against the bahu they never wanted in their house. The character however turned out to be extremely refreshing. Rumi’s interactions with her are the best part of this drama. Seemi Pasha has done complete justice to her character, she looks smart and graceful, her performance is always superb.
Jiya’s Mother-In-Law (Suno Chanda)
Shandana’s character in Suno Chanda was people’s favorite for many reasons. In the first season, it was her comic timing and humor which made the viewers fall in love with her character. In the second season, she was liked even more because she turned out to be the most loving and supporting mother-in-law. Even though for the longest time she did not even want her son to get married to Jiya but once she made up her mind and the misunderstandings were cleared, she always stood by Jiya’s side. She was shown as a sensible and loving mother-in-law who always tried her best to guide her son in the right direction.
This was one of those characters which showed that mothers-in-law too can be mothers if they decide to love their bahus like they love their own daughter. Shandana was the kind of mother-in-law who never overlooked her son’s weaknesses and made sure that she gave her bahu the right advice. Nadia Afgan nailed this aspect of her character just like all the others.
Sanam’s Mother-In-Law (Dil Ruba)
Hania Aamir got some of the best mothers-in-law in the dramas she has worked in! Sanam’s mother-in-law is also her phupo and right from the time she got married, her mother-in-law has showered her with love. She is polite, loving, caring but at the same time quite straight forward. Even though her son died, she continues to support Sanam and is just as concerned about her now as she was before. Laila Wasti’s dialogue delivery and her demeanor go so well with the character she is playing in the drama. This is another character that has changed for good as the story progressed.
Sadia’s Mother-In-Law (Yaariyan)
Yaariyan had some of the most negative characters and tracks. In this drama which was filled with negativity, Sadia’s Mother-in-law’s character was like a breath of fresh air. An educated, businesswoman who was also a difficult battle with Cancer, Sadia’s mother-in-law did everything she could to do stabilize and improve the relationship between Sadia and Umair. Apart from that, she continued to be impartial and used the time she had to help those who needed her the most. The most endearing part of her character was that even though she was going through so much herself, she always put other people’s happiness before hers.
Hina Bayat is a phenomenal actress who made this character come alive on screen. Her dialogue delivery and the way she presented herself on screen made this strong character even more admirable.
Dua’s Mother-In-Law (Ehd-e-Wafa)
Ehd-e-Wafa was one of those dramas which broke many stereotypes therefore it doesn’t come as a surprise that it also gave us one of the most memorable mothers-in-law in Pakistani dramas. Saad’s mother who was Dua’s mother-in-law was one of the most progressive characters we have seen in recent dramas. Like all the other mothers-in-law in the list, she also had a life of her own, she was educated and aware enough to guide her son and even her daughter-in-law in the right direction. In a way, she started supporting her daughter-in-law even before she got married to Saad.
Dua wasn’t sure if her in-laws would approve of her mother living with her but it was her mother-in-law who made her and Saad realize that this was part of their duty.
All these mothers-in-law prove one thing that it is so important to show good role models in Pakistani dramas. Writers should break free from stereotypes and show a positive image of mothers-in-law. In this way, they would be showing the loving and caring side of women instead of relying on showing their negative and conniving side. There are so many women who watch these dramas, even if one of them decides to follow in the footsteps on these mothers-in-law the writers would have done their part in bringing about a change in the family system.

Harassment cases at 1-A/1 LGS sparked a debate on social media when many victims came out and share their stories.
Many girls were harassed at the hands of their teachers and even after complaining to the administration they didn’t get justice.
The shocking part is minor girls were manipulated at the hands of their teachers and they had to go through a horrible experience.

This had to be the worst episode of Sabaat and it won’t be wrong to say that this drama is going further downhill with every passing episode. So much for Dr. Haris’ entry! The conversation between Haris and his friend was sickening, to say the least. The fact that the makers of this drama were perfectly alright with normalizing such unethical and unprofessional behavior goes to show just how wrong their overall approach towards this entire track is. I was hoping that Miraal’s underlying issues will be highlighted once she started seeing a professional but unfortunately, the professional she is seeing has some unresolved issues of his own it seems! Anaya’s character also took a disappointing turn with this episode since her sole purpose in life right now is to win Miraal over! Watching such an intelligent and goal-oriented woman like her worrying about pleasing a narcissist was definitely off-putting. Right now, Hasan is the saving grace of this drama – never thought I would say that! He is the only one who talks sense and is not interested in pleasing Miraal. Fareed sahab is bent on making his daughter a bigger monster than she already is! Well, that was expected but I was not expecting the psychiatrist/patient scenes to be so poorly written and meaningless. I am equally disappointed with Usman Mukhtar who chose to play such a role. Although his role in Anaa wasn’t all positive either, it definitely was more meaningful than this one.
The Honeymoon and Reality Check!
This episode opened with Anaya and Hasan continuing with their honeymoon. Both of them came across as sensible and caring people who wanted to live a meaningful life until they went back to Hasan’s home and they turned into Miraal’s victims – nothing more and nothing less! The camping scene was cute and whatever they did to help those children was also a good way of showing their personalities and what these two were capable of doing as a team. The background scene when they were headed back to the hotel after camping was sad and so inappropriate. The director simply failed to make the most of the beautiful scenery and definitely did not do justice to these scenes. Most of the scenes were ‘slow’ with the most boring background score. In the previous episode Anaya wanted to stay in the mountains and in this episode when Hasan said he wanted to live there, Anaya said she liked staying with family! Miraal’s mother finally asked them to come back home after taking permission from her daughter and that is when both of them got a reality check!
Anaya was shown as a fierce woman who believed in looking for solutions for problems yet it seems that she has completely failed to understand Miraal. Why was she even expecting Miraal to accept her gift after the kind of confrontations she had with her. Later on, she was upset because she did not want to make Miraal upset! So, now the sole purpose of Anaya’s life is winning Miraal over otherwise her kids won’t have a phupo and cousins to play with!!!!
Hasan is the only one who realizes that Miraal is never going to change and if Anaya listens to him then she will probably be happier. It was seriously upsetting watching Anaya join the ‘let’s not upset Miraal’ club in this episode. Hasan’s majburis make more sense and it was also good to see him protesting a little. He is thinking about his mother and is not trying to please Miraal.
Therapist/Patient Relationship
While I am thankful that Dr. Haris hasn’t fallen for Miraal, he is clearly very ‘interested’ in her. The way his friend questioned him about the patient and why he was going out of his way to meet her outside the office was something which just shouldn’t have been shown. Although Haris’ reply suggested that he did not want to have this conversation and that he was professional, the viewers also got to know through this scene that he was making an exception. Miraal and Haris only had one scene together in this episode and that too did not add much to the story or their track.
Meeting Haris it seems is not going to help Miraal much since he is not being honest enough with her so far! This was their third meeting yet the session wasn’t convincing enough. So far, he thinks she is ‘disturbed’ and that’s it! If these conversations were used to give the viewers an insight into Miraal’s character, telling us why she is like this, these interactions would have been so much more engaging.

Miraal’s father made another decision to please his daughter but this time around he went too far! This was his way of telling Hasan and Anaya who the chosen one was. This man has made Miraal the insensitive, selfish, and controlling person she is yet he takes no responsibility for it. His business rival will do whatever it takes to bring him down therefore it is not going to be easy for Miraal to run this business smoothly. Also, how could her father hand her over the business just like that! She clearly proved that she did not have what it took to make the right decisions under pressure. Also, the fact that Anaya will now be working for Miraal will only make things worse!
Final Remarks
Apart from Hasan’s character, there wasn’t anything remotely appealing about this episode. It was difficult sitting through this episode and watching Miraal’s father make all these foolish decisions is seriously annoying! And this guy’s smile was so creepy!
