On the contrary, Asim Azhar was recently criticized for his recent song ‘Tum Tum’ for being misogynistic in nature.
In his song, the woman was shown as ‘gold digger’ which started a huge debate because women in Pakistan are already suffering and also the woman in the video is a 17-year old minor.

His performance in Koi Chand Rakh was probably the best thing about his drama, also his drama Kaisa Hai Naseeban did really well in terms of popularity because the storyline was good and viewers wanted to see how the female lead dealt with her problems and put them to rest. Minal Khan has been a part of the industry for a long time now. The reason behind this could be the fact that she got too comfortable playing the typical roles where she was made to cry and portray the weaker side of women.
Minal Khan’s current drama Jalan is on air and is getting a lot of attention because she is playing a negative role for the first time. It might have the potential to turn things around in terms of her popularity and presence in any drama henceforth but sadly, the story of this drama is as such which already has viewers rolling their eyes, this could backfire as well.

Shehzad Sheikh
Shehzad Sheikh has done a variety of roles over the years and has proved his mettle as an actor. He is one such actor who does justice to all the emotions that his character has to portray, however, his association alone with any project is never enough for the viewers to tune to his dramas. There has to be a huge cast surrounding him for the actual drama to attain popularity. Shehzad Sheikh however has been a part of the primetime dramas for the most part of his career and has done real good ones to his credit. Currently, he is seen in Raaz e Ulfat but the main actor who drew the attention of the viewers to it was Yumna Zaidi.
Asad Siddique
Asad Siddique has also experimented a lot over the years but somehow, he too has become comfortable in his own accord and does not strive hard to be the protagonist because probably he too has an idea that he can not pull the crowd for his dramas. Asad Siddique has improved in terms of acting a lot over the years and has been a part of some of the superhit and popular dramas that have been produced every single year, but somehow, he has not paved a way for himself to carry the drama on his shoulders and make it work singlehandedly. His acting in Surkh Chandni, as well as Balaa, was convincing but he was never the reason why those two dramas got popular.
Kiran Haq
Kiran Haq is another fine actor of the Pakistani drama industry. Her strength is her effortless dialogue delivery and realistic portrayal of every character that she is assigned to play. However, Kiran Haq has stayed in the lane of supporting actors and has never really emerged as an A-lister who can carry the drama forth on her own. She too is one of those fine actors who need popular protagonists in her dramas for it to work. Her performance in recent drama Dar Khuda Se was convincing and her character got a lot of coverage as well but she was never the reason which made the viewers tune to the drama in the first place.
Junaid Khan
Junaid Khan has been a part of the industry for a long time now. He has played a lot of characters and has a lot of dramas to his credit. Junaid Khan has failed to bring himself to that point where he can be the face of any drama on his own. There was a time when Junaid Khan believed in doing certain sort of roles and always played it safe, however recently he has been selective about the projects and is being mindful of the quality. He has succeeded in making his presence felt in drama serial Kashf and we hope, this happens to be a turning point in his career.
Aryj Fatyma
Aryj Fatyma has done a considerable amount of work during the years she was active in the drama industry. Ohkay so, just like all the previous episodes, this one too covered all the things that Kashf is facing & the things she is made to endure. It is interesting to note how each episode covers all the aspects related to Kashf’s personal as well as ‘professional’ life. Tonight for the first time, I felt Kashf wanted to live like a regular girl because that’s who she actually is at heart. She got engaged to the cousin she loved at such a young age, therefore her overall mentality was shaped in a way where she saw herself living a happily-ever-after sort of married life but now, all of a sudden things have changed & she has no control over anything. I really appreciate how the writer has humanized her character & has shown that although she puts up a brave face, she too is hurt & feels overwhelmed by the responsibilities that have been put on her shoulders.
The Burden of Responsibilities
Imtiyaz went a step further to reiterate that Kashf was no longer a regular girl, she has a name & an image therefore she has to live by it. Kashf has pretty much accepted this fate but it was natural for her to feel sad that she did not even have the right to make basic decisions like wearing a bright colored dress that she wanted to. This entire change was overwhelming for Kashf & her reaction did make me feel for her a lot. I must add, the intricate details such as Kashf mentioning it in front of Wajdan that colors do not look good on her & him complimenting her, making her feel special add a lot more charm to the story. It was almost as if Kashf felt special & she realized that where Imtiyaz tried to make her feel conscious, there was Wajdan who was showing her a completely different side of the picture.
In this entire episode, it was evident that Kashf was feeling burdened. Her conversation with her mother was emotional but the way Kashf ended it with her sheer silence was so heart-breaking. It was right at that moment when she realized that her mother too was on the same page as her father & wanted Kashf to continue with this work because it was bringing in the money their family needs. Kashf has become the sacrificial lamb for her entire family & I really like that she actually isn’t oblivious of it. The way she smirks & shows these expressions are enough to know that she is seeing-through her family members but only because of her niceness, she doesn’t say much.
Things have started to change in their household – there were subtle mentions & reminders which actually shed a light on it in an interesting manner. There was a time when they could barely eat anything nice but now the mention of Biryani & Haleem went to show that the business was doing well & not only that, it was expanding. Slowly & steadily everyone has started speaking about their financial needs – Dilshad & even Ashi were being humble about it but it was brilliantly highlighted that they too have started to get a little comfortable to use the money that Kashf is earning. The way the writer has shown the slow progress of exploitation is commendable. At first, everyone felt really bad for Kashf except Imtiyaz because at least he was honest about it right from the beginning, but now slowly & steadily the rest of the family members have also started relying on Kashf. It won’t be too long before they will become aloof to Kashf & her emotions. I couldn’t help but relate the current events with the two dreams that Kashf has seen before – one where Imtiyaz throws a black shawl on her & the second one where she is showering money on her family members & in the end, she is left all alone.
I must say, Sabeena Farooq, is a find of the industry. Her acting as annoying Zoya is spot on. She actually makes you resent Zoya’s character for being so shameless in her approach towards Wajdan. It seems Zoya is not alone, Ashi as well as Irum are very much in love & are eager to settle down. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that but yes, I know that Kashf will have to pay the price, she will have to do the heavy-lifting & will have to compromise her love so that all of them will find their bliss.
I am really glad that the writer did not make Kashf’s character good to an extent of being gullible where she can not understand how her family is exploiting her. Her mannerisms, her body language, the dejection in the way she walks & then her eyes are enough to show that she understands everything but has made up her mind that this is what her life is & there’s no escape. It’s a done deal that after all of them will get married, Kashf actually will be left alone & then she will continue to fend for her parents.
Interesting Episode & Additions
Overall, this episode of Kashf was really interesting & I was kind of relieved to see some new faces in this episode. Change at any stage of the story is always necessary & I am glad they have now started to add more tracks to it. Waseem Abbas was phenomenal in this episode & to be honest, I kind of felt relieved when he settled a score with Matiullah, although he did it for himself, I feel Matiullah deserves to be punished for what he has done to Ashi.
Sabeena Farooq was really impressive & I also liked Tanya Hussain in this episode. Hajra Khan has done exceptionally well as Ashi & I enjoyed her interactions with Kashf. I also really like Shumaila’s character, she has a lot of admiration for Kashf because of her relationship with Wajdan & the way she shows it is actually very sweet – Maryam Noor has also acted well in Kashf. Hira Mani as usual was the star of this episode, she has done justice to all the emotions of Kashf & has actually forced the viewers to feel for her. I must say, she looked really pretty in the initial scenes where Kashf was getting ready for Shumaila’s mehndi. Already looking forward to the next episode. Pakistani dramas have evolved over the year. While some of the new actors are quite happy with the current situation, most of the veteran actors are not happy with the way things are going. Many of the viewers agree with them too and miss the good old days when Pakistani dramas offered more substance. There is no doubt that with the increase in the number of channels and as a result the number of dramas, the quality has gone down ever since. But the main reason behind this is that he does not think there are people who will understand what he writes which is why sadly he has sidelined the writer within him. In an interview, he honestly said that obviously he has to earn a living therefore he continues to act otherwise he is not happy with the way things are going in the industry. Apart from that, she believes that dramas don’t necessarily have to focus on the younger lot only because even older people have stories to tell. Although Asma Abbas has played some amazing roles yet she does not feel fulfilled by the kind of work that is being done in the industry.

Badar Khalil is a legendary actress who dedicated most of her life to acting in Pakistani dramas. Yet she was so disheartened by the latest trend in the industry that she moved abroad and bid farewell to acting altogether. Her biggest issue was with the production houses and the way the older actors were being treated. Just like many older actors, she also thinks that the production houses and directors give the new stars more respect and cannot seem to give the same respect to actors such as herself.
Sania Saeed
Sania Saeed is a big name in the industry, she has contributed so much to it and is loved by many. It is truly sad when someone like her feels that the drama industry right now is not producing the kind of content it should be producing. She also thinks that instead of criticizing the actors who work in these dramas, the viewers should criticize the content and in that way also help the actors work in better projects.
Nausheen Shah
Nausheen Shah is a talented actress who is also known for her unique style. She rarely chooses to be part of dramas and the reason for this is that she is also not happy with the way dramas are being written nowadays. In her opinion, every story revolves around the younger lot and the writers are not being allowed to show the stories of people above 30 or 40 which in her opinion is so important.

Arjumand Rahim is one of those actors who has contributed to the drama industry in more ways than one. In a recent talk show, she shared that although the Pakistani industry is making so many dramas none of them have the same impact which the old PTV classics had.
