Ohkay so, this episode of Deedan was more like an elaboration of the preview that we get to see by the end of every single episode. Since there isn’t much that Deedan has to offer, watching a preview of it is more than enough. It is a shame that despite having such strong actors & such beautiful locations the story of this drama isn’t brilliant!
Same Old Situations:
Resham tried to retaliate but then no one came to her help. I must say, Zardab should get an award for being a naqaam ashiq because after one failed plan, he failed yet again. It is understandable that things have not been in Zardab & Resham’s favor but still, to see them failing in such petty ways is amusing where at first Resham’s father caught them & twisted the reality & this time around Zardab’s brother stopped him simply by putting a lock on the door? Funny. Also, if Zardab mustered up the courage to go to Resham’s house personally then what was he or even she waiting for? They could’ve eloped then & there but oh well!
Gul Makai’s role in bringing Gulbaz Khan & Resham together is funny. She only doesn’t want to let go of the housemaid that she has got in the form of Resham therefore she doesn’t mind sharing her husband who actually looks like her brother. As much the writer has tried to give these characters some personality, I don’t see it in them also there is zero intensity & the chemistry between the actors, which makes it a very bland experience watching Deedan.
Palwasha is getting groomed day by day & considering she has done only a few modelling projects so far, that seems a bit too much. Also, for someone like Palwasha who happens to be quite conscious of her surroundings, this entire makeover seems unrealistic & too forced. Despite the progress in her career, there’s nothing new or exciting in her track because all she does is doubt Aalam Zeb for a second, forgets about the next & calls Resham every other day. She might as well forget her accent too considering how she has changed everything about her
Closing Thoughts – Unimpressive:
So far Deedan’s story has not been impressive but I am still waiting to see if there’s more to it because I fail to accept that this entire team got together for such a mediocre drama? A part of me still believes (or want to believe) that they have a very interesting set of events in store for us which will impress us as a viewer, let’s see. Babar Ali is a film star turned television actor. He has done many memorable performances throughout his career. His recent project Laal Ishq which was a sequel to Landa Bazar got a lot of attention due to the first season being quite a blockbuster years ago. The news came when the actor left the country due to the death threats he was receiving.
Babar Ali has lodged an FIR in Lahore in Defence Police Station that he has been receiving threatening calls for some time now from some extremists. He added that some other artists are also getting the same calls. babar Ali finally left the country for the safety of his and his family’s life.
This is a sad news and we hope all gets sorted out soon for Babar so he can return back and resume his work.

Ohkay so, this episode of Khud Parast was again very interesting & nicely executed. I am glad that the dynamics have changed & the one who was being oppressed has started to retaliate. Khud Parast surely is one of my top favorite dramas to tune to currently because the characters have a strong personality & there is so much to see!
Uswa Is Back:
Uswa & Hanan had a conversation where Hanan wanted Uswa to apologize. He did understand his wife’s perspective too but wanted her to take the route that he knew would guarantee him as well as Uswa some peace of mind. Even though things have not been in her favor but it is nice to see that Uswa wants her marriage to work & she wants to lead a happy life with Hanan that is why she agreed to apologize to Bakhtawar only to make Hanan happy.
It is good that Uswa has started to use her brains but if she really wants to succeed, she should distance herself from her mother because everything that woman says makes no sense whatsoever. Uswa’s mother thinks she knows what Uswa should do but the fact is that she does not know how things actually work in Bakhtawar’s house. Even though Uswa has told so much to her mother but she has not had a personal experience of what things are like in that household to be passing remarks on it or giving advice to Uswa. Bakhtawar has so much control over everything & she is pretty egoistic so for Uswa’s mother to assume that a woman like Bakhtawar would come to take Uswa back on one of her tantrums was quite immature of her!
Uswa’s brother Saad did play a part in making sure that Uswa goes back because obviously he wants his business to work & Moeez’s investment would guarantee that. Uswa did go back but this time with a plan in her mind which was interesting to see. Uswa has understood that Bakhtawar controls the minds of her sons & that is why, she has started to play mind games too. Uswa knows that Hanan is a good human being who trusts what is said to him without analyzing situation himself so she decided to take advantage of that.
Uswa, of all the people, should leave Beenish alone. Yes, she does not agree to Beenish’s approach in leading her life which is alright but the least she can do is taunt or belittle her because Beenish has clearly told her about her situation which is unfavorable. Uswa is still lucky that Hanan is not like Moeez so the least she can do is show some consideration to Beenish & support her emotionally.
Well, the way Uswa made Bakhtawar awkward in front of her guests was interesting to see. Uswa knows that she is taking a risk but now that she has a set plan in her mind, she is executing it brilliantly. She cried buckets in front of Hanan as she has seen that there is some edge to do that & it definitely worked. Hanan forgot about all that Bakhtawar said & focused on what Uswa was put through.
Closing Thoughts – Keeps Getting Better:
Overall, this episode of Khud Parast was very nicely done. It just keeps on getting better & better. The preview of the next episode showed the change in Hanan’s attitude. Ohkay so, this episode of Koi Chand Rakh took the story forward but I am totally bored of the way Rabail is being treated & also how there is so much communication gap between the characters. It is like they wait for the director to say ‘cut’ before they say what needs to be said. Talk about dragging a situation like a chewing gum!
Rabail – The Ultimate Villain:
Zain, Gulshan, Nafeesa, Sobi, Nishal…everyone hates Rabail & as much as they all look mean doing so, Rabail also looks foolish to not say a word or do something to fix the matter. After Zain misunderstood Rabail & blamed her for ruining Sobi’s life, it was Rabail’s duty to tell the truth to Zain but she was casually chilling in the hospital. To be honest the way things are ridiculously one-sided & one-dimensional in Koi Chand Rakh, it makes very hard to take this drama seriously as well as feel anything for Rabail because it is like the punch line of this drama that no matter what happens, Rabail is the culprit!
Zain was still dual minded but his encounter with Umair forced him to say yes to Nishal’s demand of getting married. Umair wanted to save Rabail but because Rabail didn’t have the courage to face all those who wronged her, she shed her frustrations on poor soul Umair. Umair wanted to help Rabail but seems like she doesn’t want to help herself. I guess everyone in this drama is suffering from “Don’t Let Anyone Complete Their Sentence Syndrome” & based on that, the writer is taking the story forward. While watching Umair chasing Rabail’s car like “Allah ke naam pe de de Rabi Jee”, all I could think of was that these guys exist in the Whatsapp era & if he was intelligent enough, all he had to do was send her a message saying Zain & Nishal are getting married, aur na chahtay hue bhi Rabi Jee wo message hair aur makeup ke lambay session ke baad parh hi letin!
Anyways, Zain & Nishal got married & Zia Bhai not only changed his grey coat but also changed his khaslat. Also, I am wondering Zia Bhai ko apne ex-to-be-salay yani Umair ka number kaisay mila? If Zia really wanted to help, he should have called Rabail directly but because hamare Zia Bhai hain hi itne genius, un se aur kya expect karte?
Closing Thoughts – Drama For The Sake of Drama:
The preview of the next episode promised some more over acting & some more makeup. Asad pointing a gun at Nishal seemed as real as a kid pointing his water gun at a stranger. Hona kuch hai nahi but chalo drama for the sake of drama hi sahi. The amount of lipstick used in this episode was too much & all the women as well as men are guilty as charged for this crime. I must say, Muneeb Butt has been very impressive in this drama & it looks like Imran Abbas has forgotten how to act in this particular project. Ranjha Ranjha Kardi Episode 5 Story Review – This was another brilliant and beautiful episode of Ranjha Ranjha Kardi. This drama has some of the most unique, real, tangible and appealing characters. It also has the most phenomenal performances to its credit and the direction has been beyond amazing right from the get-go. You can’t help but fall in love with all the beautiful characters and their simple yet meaningful stories. Some of these characters are struggling to find an identity and others are either supporting them in some way or are a source of frustration.
A Mother’s Unconditional Love
Bhola and his mother’s relationship has been written and translated extremely beautifully on screen. The way Bhola “exploited” his mother’s love for him and the manner in which she was more than willing to forgive him even though she knew he was lying to her, was the perfect example of a mother’s love. Gradually, the viewers are being introduced to different aspects of their relationship. Bhola’s mother is just as clueless as Bhola himself. She feels that perhaps if Bhola gets married, he will no longer be as “careless” as he is now but Bhola it seems is a free bird who can never be caged no matter what. All of Bhola’s conversations with his mother were both amusing as well touching. His mother takes care of him and does whatever she can to make him feel loved and protected but Bhola cannot cope with the “limitations”. He cannot eat what he wants to when he is home, he cannot run outside and dance to the tunes he likes and he cannot be as dirty as he wants! When Bhola gets tired of the outside world, he knows he can come back and his mother will welcome him with open arms and when he cannot take the restrictions any more he just flees away. He follows his instinct and it won’t be wrong to say that like any other child, he takes his mother’s love for granted. He might go out of his way to get attention from Mumtaz Begum but he won’t do the same for his mother because he knows that he does not need to make an effort to keep that love in his mother’s heart alive.
Bhola and Noori Meet Again
These two magical characters met yet again and this time too their scenes were a treat to watch. Bhola and Noori both are the kind of people who speak their mind therefore their conversations are always very interesting. When these two are interacting with other characters, there are times when they are putting up a show or revealing only that side of their personality which they want other people to see but when they are with each other, their conversations are totally unfiltered. Noori is the only person who knows how Bhola feels about Mumtaz Begum, he opens up with her the way he does with no one else perhaps because he feels that Noori can be trusted. Noori on the other hand is either amused by Bhola or feels for him but she always enjoys his company. Iqra Aziz has also given an outstanding performance. She has breathed tangible life into this character and has surprised many viewers by her superb performance. Imran Ashraf and Iqra Aziz’s characters, their performances and their on-screen chemistry continues to be one of the many reasons why Ranjha Ranjha Kardi has two of the most exceptional main protagonists.
Noori Is Hopelessly In Love
Noori and Sahir’s scenes too have been written and executed on screen faultlessly. Although Noori is putting so much on stake by meeting Sahir the way she does and by dodging Qudsia but you don’t feel like “judging” her at all. Her love for Sahir, the way she expresses it and the lies she tells somehow always come across as innocent. I especially liked their conversation when Sahir called her “Noor” – the dialogues were so meaningful. They yet again showed how desperately Noori wanted/needed this kind of an acceptance. Sahir also loves Noori, something which was apparent from his reaction when he saw her with Bhola but he does not want to express this love. I absolutely love Jibran Syed’s casual and neat look for this role. He has underplayed his character and he keeps you wondering which adds to the mystery. You want to like this character but at the same time you’re not sure if you know him well enough!
Family Dynamics
The family dynamics in Noori’s family have been well-established by now but the relationship dynamics between Bhola’s family members are being revealed gradually. Kashif Mehmood’s character is apparently Bhola’s father’s cousin and is working for Bhola’s mother because that is where they get their livelihood from. This means that Bhola’s mother is financially stable and Bhola is the sole heir of her property. The conversation between the husband and wife tonight was a nice way of laying down these dynamics in a nuanced manner. There was some greed or the instinct of looking out of your own interest in this conversation but the negativity was kept to the minimum. Noori’s mother finally discussed Shoka’s proposal with her and Noori’s reply was very satisfying – completely in line with her character.
Overall Impression
Tonight’s episode had a solid pace, there wasn’t a single scene which was out of place or unnecessary. Every single scene in this episode either took the plot forward in some way or revealed something new or interesting about the characters. The top-notch performances continue to impress even more with every passing episode. Imran Ashraf is definitely at the top of his game, he completely owns his character and the attention to detail shows in every scene. He makes the most difficult scenes look real and effortless. Iqra Aziz continues to outshine in a role which has so much to offer. Kashif Nisar never ceases to impress and Faiza Iftikhar’s script gives you so much to hold on to and to look forward to. She has given us the most amazing characters in the past too but Bhola in particular is simply out of this world. Ranjha Ranjha Kardi is hands down the most exceptional play on air nowadays.
One person who has been the front-runner in Aiman Khan and Muneeb Butt wedding is the bride’s sister Minal Khan. Minal Khan has executed every step and has been the one enjoying the wedding the most. As the bride’s only sister and consequently the groom’s only sister in law, Mial Khan had a special attention towards her as well as the special responsibility of making the wedding more and happier and fun and she did deliver brilliantly. With Aiman Khan and Muneeb Butt’s wedding being a star-studded event, it was bound to be fun and filled with some special performances. Minal Khan who is also a star did not let anyone’s expectations down and was there to perform to some tunes on sister Aiman’s big day. Minal Khan is also a star and has a massive fan following but the best thing she has done is that she has kept the focus solely on her sister and has downplayed every look and everything so that the spotlight stays at bride but at the same time Minal Khan has played her role in making the wedding memorable like the performance she did on Mehndi!
Nadia Jamil is an activist as well as an actress. We have always loved her and she has always been very open about her health and life. The actress recently had a health scare. She was on a flight where she got sick. But with the bad news of her health deteriorating, Nadia revealed the caring side of our superstar Fawad Khan. Fawad Khan was also on the flight and he had to reach for a shoot. As soon as he saw Nadia in distress, he came forward to help her and gave her her meds. Ohkay so, this episode of Dil Mom Ka Diya was intense & very interesting. It not only took the story forward but gave a beginning to the end in a very nice manner too. Dil Mom Ka Diya has been a good drama to watch because I liked how the writer maintained a balance & gave every single character a very strong personality.

Tipu proved to be a self-centered person who just took Ulfat as someone that he was sharing his life with. Tipu never really developed feelings for Ulfat because he was complete within himself therefore he didn’t see or feel any difference in his life after getting married. Tipu definitely learnt one thing about Ulfat that if he wanted to convince her for anything, all he had to do was praise her beauty. Slowly & steadily Ulfat did realize that she made a mistake by getting married to Tipu but she just had to put up with him because she knew she had nowhere to go.
Fatima succeeded in making a place for herself in Afzal’s home & his heart. As much as Ulfat was wrong in taking Afzal for granted, I fully support her for the way she treated Aqmal & Salma because they both deserved that kind of treatment. The way Aqmal insulted & belittled Fatima made my blood boil too because that was not his place to say anything to her in the first place.
Kausar still felt bad for Tamkinat but she didn’t have a clue as to how she should contact her. Tamkinat continued to wait for Azhar but her sister was adamant that she should get married now. Well, the world turned out to be smaller for Azhar than he imagined, his housemate liked Tamkinat & that is what compelled Azhar to admit that Tamkinat was still his wife because even he knew that they were not officially divorced.
Ulfat who was already having a hard time with Tipu got the final blow after he told her to terminate the pregnancy. For someone like Ulfat who had done the same thing herself previously, it should’ve been a piece of cake but it was not because this time, this wasn’t her decision. Life threw everything at Ulfat in a way that she didn’t imagine, Ulfat was now faced with one test after another & all of them revolved around the things that she took for granted. This was her fate & now there she was, taking care of her terminally ill husband who didn’t even respect her.
Closing Thoughts – Convincing Story & Characters:
Overall, the story of Dil Mom Ka Diya, though not being new still was good because of the kind of execution it got. The performances as well as the characters have been convincing too apart from few like Aqmal, Salma & Azhar but then despite being annoying, they had their own personalities. Brittney is also visually impaired. She embraced Islam two years ago after she met Mujeebur Rehman on Facebook. She has now come to Pakistan and the couple has made it official with their wedding ceremony.
Mujeebur Rehman is partially visually impaired while Brittney is totally visually impaired. The couple got married in Bahawalpur on Thursday. Baba Jani Episode 13 Story Review – This episode of Baba Jani had two of the most important decisions to its credit. Nimra made a decision which gave Asfand and Sadia the ultimate joy but Sadia’s decision caused nothing but harm both to herself and to those people who love her. Asfand, Sadia and Nimra never disappoint; their track always has something substantial to offer which gives you a reason to tune into this drama.
Najiba Wins, Asfand Loses
Even after trying his best to prove to Sadia that he loves her, Asfand lost in this episode. Najiba’s negativity and scheming won because she has always played on Sadia’s insecurities in every way possible. Even though Sadia was truly satisfied and content with the way things were but Najiba’s words changed everything altogether. Sadia’s thought process and her decision made sense but the fact that Asfand never talked to the doctor himself and did not insist that he wanted to go with Sadia the next time, was strange. Also, since Asfand has been accompanying Sadia regularly, he shouldn’t have fallen for this lie so easily. This development was definitely difficult to relate to. The fact that Sadia made this decision right after Nimra accepted Asfand as her father, suggested that she was now confident that Nimra will not be lonely even if she has to live without her mother. Sadia has always been shown as someone who does not want to burden anyone beyond a certain point therefore it seems that she took this decision to relieve Asfand from his duties as well. Also, any person who is sick for such a long time would naturally be very sensitive and hearing what Najiba said could have this kind of an affect. I am waiting to hear, what Sadia was thinking. Is she tired of being a burden? Is she ready to leave Nimra now because she knows that Asfand will be there for her? This development was very disturbing since the choice Sadia made was clearly not as “selfless” as she thought it was. I felt for Asfand and Nimra more than her since this was almost like “cheating” on these two beautiful individuals who love her so much. This twist in the story was shocking to say the least! I am pretty sure the final conversations between all of them are going to be extremely emotional.
Asfand Sahab Is Now Baba Jani
Yes! This development was the best part of tonight’s episode. The writer showed the gradual change in Nimra’s attitude towards Asfand in the previous few episodes therefore watching her accept Asfand as Baba Jani was easy to connect to and extremely heart-warming. I must say that this was yet another development which was not expected just now. The way this entire development was covered was beautiful. Everything Asfand said to Nimra and the way she changed his “status” after that conversation was touching. The lunch later on and the change in Nimra’s overall attitude was translated so well on screen. Faysal Qureshi and Madiha Imam both played their characters exceptionally well tonight. The happiness Asfand and Nimra both felt and the connection they have developed looked so natural on screen. Savera Nadeem, Faysal Qureshi and Madiha Imam have amazing on-screen chemistry which makes their scenes a treat to watch. They really do come across as people who belong together.
Nasir Finally Makes An Appearance
It was great to see Nasir back in the picture. He is one of the very few positive people in Asfand’s life and Tipu Sharif has played his part well too. I hope that we see more of him in the upcoming episodes. The viewers are getting an overdose of Najiba and we are hardly getting to see Nasir – some of Najiba’s scene need to be chopped down so that we can know what is going on in Asfand’s mind through his conversations with Nasir.
Realistic Scenes and Natural Performances
Even though Najiba gets on my nerves but I must say that even her scenes are extremely realistic. That scene in which the sisters were gossiping while they enjoyed pizza was funny and easy to relate to especially that addition of Najiba asking about the mirchei! Saba Hameed always performs brilliantly no matter which character she is playing. All the actors have given solid performances throughout.
The Real Story Has Just Started
I feel that the actual story will start once Sadia is out of the picture because then the focus is going to be entirely on Baba Jani and his daughter. Sadia is going to be missed and the next few episodes will be really emotional.

When I started working with Sana it was in Khaani so maybe we were immersed in our characters and because of that, we couldn’t get along. We jumped onto Dino Ki Dulhaniya right after and from there it was Romeo Weds Heer. By the time we started Romeo Weds Heer the impact of our previous characters was probably there but by the time we wrapped up, we were on quite great notes. We are quite amazing now. I think we definitely are a good pair.
