Karachi has been in news once again for street crime. Karachi is no doubt one of the most beautiful cities of Pakistan. It is the trade hub and the city of lights. But the city has suffered so much in the past decades. With the deteriorated law and order situations, target killings, fires and what not, the city has seen intolerable amounts of blood and sorrow. A lot has been controlled after the security forces operation in the city but the street crime is again on the rise.
Freiha Alaf was going back home after attending Fashion Week 2018 when she also became a victim of street crime, She was held along with her daughter by three young boys on a motorbike. The incident was naturally frightening but having her daughter with her at that time made it even more horrible. Freiha Altaf took to twitter and shared the incident:
Freiha asked people to cooperate with the forces as she demanded a swift cleanup of street crime in Karachi.
Safety should be the first concern of the government and crime should be controlled before anything. Freiha’s demand is totally legit and the government should take notice of the increasing crime as soon as possible!

Faisal Qureshi is one of the most versatile and loved actors of Pakistani drama industry. He is also an accomplished host who is known for raising issues which most morning show hosts don’t. Although, Faisal Qureshi has been seen on the television screen for some two decades now but even then no one knew how he got this far until now.
While talking to Vasay Chaudhry, the Mazak Raat host, Faisal shared that he was not always as blessed as he is today. He said that there was a time when his shoes had holes in them and he did not have the money to buy new shoes. He also said that his first few films were complete flops because of which no one ever offered him food or even water on the sets all day long. He especially thanked Shan and said he had great respect for him because he was the one who lend him jackets and shirts to wear when he went to shoot for his films. Faisal said that he started his showbiz career as a child star and had to struggle very hard to get this far. He got his major break after many years when Boota From Toba Tek Singh went on air.
It is always great hearing such stories from our actors. They are a source of inspiration for all those people who are struggling to get somewhere. Faisal Qureshi sure is a success story, someone to look up to.
Alamgir Khan, a member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), started “Fix It” as a campaign on January 4, 2016 against the inability of authorities to cover Karachi’s manholes that were left open for way too long. Fix It basically was an initiative by Alamgir Khan to highlight problems faced by inhabitants of Karachi, during unstable socio-political times.
Initiator of Fix It that has become an organization now, Alamgir Khan recently came on the morning show hosted by Sanam Baloch and shared how he had started Fix It and what it represents. Alamgir said that Fix It is for the awareness of the public especially youth to know the problems and try to solve those problems. He said that the youngsters need this kind of empowerment so that they could go ahead and take their problems head on. He said the black shirts that team Fix It wear are a symbol of unity and power. If you are wearing that shirt no one would dare to ask for bribe from you, no one would be able to delay you work unnecessarily.
Fix It ignites hope that perhaps we are moving towards a change for the better, a change where the common man is more conscious of his role and rights in the society and is an active participant in ensuring their security. Alamgir calls it a silent protest that is not harming people but merely giving them a platform to address their problems.

Rabia Butt as successful as she is in her professional life, has gone through so much in her personal life. She has gone through the tragedy of her mother’s death and losing a parent could be very devastating. It leads people to go in depression and addiction just to get rid of that pain. One’s inside is shattered so much that the person loses the will to live.
Moving on from the parent’s death is the most difficult thing a person could ever do. Most of the time people are unable to move past that tragedy, they just learn to live with the pain and suffering.
Rabia shared that after she lost her mother she came to know how much she loved her. She said that “Muhabbat” is when you love a person but “Ishq” is when you love the person that your lover loves. She says that since her mother’s death i.e. almost eight years, she has dedicated her whole life for the people her mother used to love; her father, her sisters. She said that she tries her level best to value every single wish of her sisters because she knows that, that’s what her mother would have wanted.
Who knew that Rabia, a very accomplished model with a peace and calm on her face and who manages to look stunning every single time is going through so much pain on the inside.

Rabia said that she started her career without telling her mother, at the time when her mother had gone for Hajj.

We have people from all walks of lives in our showbiz industry now, people with very high qualifications. Hamza is one of the most highly qualified artist that we have in our industry. He did CSS and was appointed in police service of Pakistan. Civil Services basically is the key wheels on which the entire engine of the state has to move. The officers with their intelligence, intellect, team-spirit, leadership qualities, commonsense, originality, communication skills and a dynamic personality hold the highest offices of the country.
In the interview with Sanam Baloch, Hamza was asked why he has left Civil services and joined showbiz. He replied that he had entered CSS just to qualify it without any ulterior motive. He had entered just to pass the exam, get qualified and then leave it because he told that in his family it is thought to be a big deal if you can clear the civil services exam.
He said that he was appointed in the police group, and he knew that he could never manage to salute people like “Wazeer e Qanoon” Rana SanaUllah. Hamza said even he would have joined his post, he would have been thrown out very soon.
He further added that he never had it as an ideal that he would do a government job. It was never an ambition for Hamza to do a civil service.
Baandi in its second episode also remained true to its core. Miseries never stop for the poor. The powerful exploits them and can use every whim to get what they want from them without thinking of any consequences, all thanks to the lacking system of justice. Tahawaar is totally confident and knows that he will get Meeru by hook or by crook. Baandi has clearly shown the Haari culture more prominent in the areas of Sindh where people are enslaved for generations at the name of some meagre debt. Meeru’s father loves her so much and he was finally near to cleaning his previous debt but Tahawaar had other plans. The way Meeru’s mother is ready to marry her off to a man who is already married and is older than her just to save her from Tahawaar was heart-breaking. This is not a fantasy as this happens in many areas of Pakistan where girls like Meeru and Bakhtu are married off in teenage to be saved from ill fates.
Baandi is also showing us the other side of the society. It is not just the poor who could be Baandis but the rich too. The way Rameen is being exploited by her own parents shows how the society oppresses women of all classes. The hypocrisy portrayed by Hina Diplazeer deserves a huge round of applause. She has once again shown why she is one of the finest actors Pakistan has. Muneb Butt is also doing a great job as Wali. The helplessness and anger of a man torn between his wrong parents and a victim sister are perfectly portrayed by him. He does not conform to anything going around his house but is not yet in the position to defy it. We also have a new character in the drama and he might end up with Rameen but it will be a long way to go.
Yasir Hussain needs a special mention as he has really surprised me as Tahawaar. It is indeed his best performance till date.

Hamza Ali Abbasi has always been popular for his views, his opinions and his stances on issues, be it a political issue, an Islamic or religious issue or a social issue. Hamza always raises points on issues whether in favor or against something, for which he sometimes have to bear serious consequences. Despite everything, he still is very opinionated and he sure is famous for it.
Recently on a morning show with Sanam Baloch, Hamza praised Pakistani youth to which Sanam said that this same youth is the one who takes pride in breaking traffic signals but when they go abroad they all are up for following traffic rules. Does that mean that they don’t respect their country’s Rules and regulations?
Hamza replied that, our people are very good and they should not be underestimated. He said the problem arises when the Law is not implemented. According to Hamza the law implementing authorities are at fault for not making sure strict law maintenance . He by giving an example of Karachi said, that it can’t be expected that the whole population of Karachi will abide by the laws all by themselves.
Hamza made his point saying that a person from Pakistan goes to Dubai as a driver and within twenty four hours he is seen abiding every traffic rule. It is not because of himself it is due to the fact that laws are being implemented very strictly there and everyone knows that in case of not abiding the law, consequences could be very harsh.
The young star Sara Razi Khan has been in the news recently as she has started a new journey of her life. Sara who we all have been seeing as a young artist and growing up before our eyes is now officially Nikkahfied. Sara got married to Sumair as the Nikkah took place after a fun Mehendi ceremony. Nikkah was an intimate affair and Sara opted for a creamy gold shirt and dupatta with a vibrant gold border and paired with a blush pink gharara. Sara’s makeup was minimal and she was wearing a traditional jewellery set comprising a teeka and jhoomar. She also wore a traditional red chunri on her head when she signed the Nikkah papers.
Like every girl, Sara was very emotional while signing her Nikkah papers and the moment was very beautiful. Her groom Sumair wore a white shalwar kameez and a waistcoat complimenting his bride’s dress. Here are the pictures from the Nikkah ceremony of Sara Razi Khan:
Sara indeed looked very beautiful on her Nikkah ceremony. May the couple have a very happy and successful married life ahead. What are your thoughts on Sara Razi’s Nikkah look? Do you like this better or the mehendi one? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
Hamza Ali Abbasi, a heartthrob of millions has always been popular since his inception in the industry. He started off his career in acting with theatre, than hit the TV screens and then the big screens not long after doing TV series.
Hamza Ali Abbasi came on “Subha Savery Samaa k Sath” hosted by Sanam Baloch recently. Sanam asked Hamza, to share his complaints and objections that he has on today’s youth. He said that he has not complaints about youth and this is a complete misconception in Pakistan that youth is not responsible or that youth doesn’t raise voice for its rights, when in fact every positive change that is happening in Pakistan is due to youth.
He said that we as a society focus so much on the negatives that we completely forget to celebrate the positives. He, addressing the youngsters present in the audience said, that you are very good. He after playfully saying that he himself is a youth further added, that “We are very good and we have accomplished so much for our nation, So don’t underestimate yourself or take yourselves easy because whatever better the nation would achieve in the future would also be because of youth”.
Hamza while narrating his own story while he was doing CSS said, that the last generation had a lot of expectations from this youth as well. He was very much positive about youth bringing positive changes in the nation.
Sadia Ghaffar’s sister Aqdus Ghaffar got Nikahfied just two three days ago in a very private and small ceremony with just close family. Sadia, on her Instagram account, shared how overwhelmed she was on the occasion.
The wedding ceremony of Aqdus took place one day after her Nikah ceremony and turns out this time, it was not a private one. Many of Sadia’s celebrity friends were seen to have attended the wedding, including Sajal Ali, Saboor Ali, Sadaf Kanwal, Amar Khan and Rana Asif.
Aqdus Ghaffar undoubtedly made a stunning bride wearing the Famous Tabassum Mughal’s traditional Maroon outfit. Here are few of the pictures of bride and groom along with Sadia Ghaffar.
Sajal Ali and Saboor Ali look ravishing on the occasion, Sajal with a traditional attire complementing her beautiful personality and Saboor with a heavily embroided lehnga.
Sadaf Kanwal looks ethereal in her Saree while Amar Khan an upcoming name known for her serial Bela pur ki dayan is carrying a beautiful attire.
Here is the moment of bride and groom captured beautifully with friends and family.
Here are few more pictures from the beautifully arranged wedding ceremony.
Weddings of children are a very precious time for their parents especially daughters’ weddings. Parents long to see their daughters happily married but at the time of their marriages parents have very mixed feelings. They are overwhelmed to see that their doll has grown up to be of such an age that after everything that they did for her, they have to let her go now.
Sara’s mother has been participating in everything be it the bridal shower at home or at a show. She came on morning show Jago Pakistan Jago which was arranged as Sara Razi Khan’s second bridal shower.
Sara’s mother is a very young and a beautiful woman. She was seen wearing a green lehnga on the occasion of her daughter’s Mehndi and she was looking very delightful. She was supporting that lehnga because now a days weddings are all about themes. Sara’s Mehndi theme seemed to be lehnga and choli with which green color cooperation seemed to be a must.
Have a look at Sara and Arisha Razi Khan’s mother looking beautiful in green lehnga.
Actors and Actresses’ wedding ceremony doesn’t get complete unless they have appeared on a morning show. It’s more of a, most important/can not be missed post marital ritual. Some of them get invited to a lot of the morning shows and it’s a treat to watch for the viewers.
The morning show hosts try to get every ounce of information from the couple. They want to know everything from information like how did they meet, how did they fall in love, how did they get their parents to agree on marrying them. Then they, specially the bride is asked about the attires that she was supporting: the dress, the makeup and the jewelry. Then photo shoots, videos and pictures from the wedding are shared with the viewers.
The newly wedded Anum Fayyaz and Asad Anwar, honoring their post marital ritual, got invited to the morning show “Good Morning Pakistan” hosted by Nida Yasir. They visited her show after their Nikkah ceremony as well.
Anum was looking ravishing wearing a royal blue outfit by Tabassum Mughal. Her bun was completely complementing the outfit. She was not seen supporting any jewelry but the outfit didn’t need any accessorizing at all. Asad was looking quite a gentle man in the suit as well.
This couple without a doubt beautifully complements each other. May they have a beautiful and blessed life ahead of them.
Ohkay so, Visaal came to an end tonight & I will say it was one rollercoaster ride of emotions. Hashim Nadeem deserves an award for bringing such a different love story to the table. The way the characters were written & the way he shed a light on the emotions experienced by human beings in general was the strength of this drama. Visaal had a very different story & that is why, despite the considerably slow pace, it always kept my interest intact & for me this drama was nothing short of perfection!
The Closure:
Munna turned out to be the cupid. It can also be said that he was the actual hero who took things in his hands & made sure that he stood by what he thought was right, despite his loyalties being with Akram. It was quite interesting to see both Akram & Munna in one frame because they both were in love with Pari but their approach was different. Akram loved Pari to such an extent that he didn’t even think twice before maligning her reputation whereas Munna loved Pari enough to let her go, for the sake of her happiness.
I must say, I love how the writer showed that a book should never be judged by its cover. A weak looking harmless soul like Munna had the strength & the courage to face wrath of a strong man like Akram only because his love for Pari made him feel responsible for her. Munna always listened to Akram, he was burdened with the favors Akram had done for him too but still, he did not let any of that cloud his judgment & despite being grateful for all that Akram had done for him, Munna kept his ground in the matters concerning Pari.
Taimoor & Pari met but they had no idea that Munna will find out & listen to their entire conversation. It was very sweet of Munna to get in touch with Molvi Ghufran to finalize things because Munna knew he needed his support as he was Pari’s guardian.
Akram could not take no for an answer. He could not fathom the fact that a poor soul like Munna could outbid him & go against his wishes. Akram loved Pari but he didn’t even think that his love was only causing more destruction in her life. Akram was egoistic that is why he could not accept the fact that things could go against his wishes too. To be honest, seeing Akram pleading his love for Pari & dying did make me emotional. He was unapologetically like that, because of which he didn’t or couldn’t even realize where he went wrong. Akram had no one to guide him plus he also never looked for guidance either. Akram was an island within himself – complete, faultless, entitled & deserving, that is why he could not even for a second think or grasp the fact that a girl like Pari wouldn’t want to see him as his life partner.
Everything ended on a clear note. Munna did get arrested because of shooting Akram but he emerged as a hero in front of everyone as he took care of Pari’s dignity. Pari & Taimoor met their happy ending because things worked in their favor & it was only because of Munna’s persistence, kindness & big heart that he turned the destiny in their favor.
Closing Thoughts:
To be honest, now that Visaal has ended, I am left with that feeling of emptiness because I will miss watching this drama. It is a rarity to have dramas like Visaal which are so unique yet so interesting. Hashim Nadeem has really given us a drama to remember & what’s amazing is that he balanced everything out. He used all these characters to counteract & neutralize situations when they got out of hand. Visaal had everything; comedy, jealousy, hatred, revenge, love, drama, action – it was a complete package which was executed just the way it deserved to be. In recent times I have seen a few good dramas but Visaal surely takes the lead because of its uniqueness.
I must say, I loved how after such a long time we got to see a positive pious character like Molvi Ghufran who was forgiving & very simple-minded. Who was well aware of the mistakes of his daughter & blamed himself for failing as a parent. Akram – never seen before in our dramas but still such a well-written character where despite knowing his reality, the viewers wanted things to work for him. Naheed – best friend who ended up becoming Pari’s worst enemy. A beautiful father-daughter relationship. Undeniable loyalty which Doodh Patti had towards a stranger like Akram that he met on a train station randomly. Selfless & pure love which Munna had towards Pari. There were so many aspects to this story which were done so so so well & it all added charm to this drama. Zahid Ahmed should take a bow for such a brilliant performance. I am sure no other actor could have done justice to Akram the way he did. Saboor Ali shined as Naheed too. The actors who played the roles of Munna & Doodh Patti were beyond brilliant. They may be side characters but their presence was of utmost importance in this drama. Firdous Jamal, Tahira Imam, Ismat Zaidi & Hania Aamir were brilliant too. The director should also take a bow for directing this drama perfectly. The OST & background score was just perfect as well. Overall, Visaal was an amazing drama & I will remember it for a very long time. Please share your thoughts about the last episode of Visaal.
Baba Jani Episode 4 Story Review – Tonight’s episode of Baba Jani covered a different side of Asfand’s personality. While he still felt the need to please his sisters and was looking for their approval but the fact that he could not back out from a commitment made him go ahead with a major decision made entirely by himself, for himself. This was an important development which basically showed that Asfand wasn’t just a loving brother but a conscientious person who could do something radical to do the right thing.
Character Development
Asfand already knows what his sisters did but he chose to keep quiet. If he hadn’t known the truth he would not have gone to his khala for help and support. Also, he would have given his sisters more of a benefit of the doubt had he not known what they had done to have their own way. This entire development was covered in a logical and convincing manner. Najiba’s ‘love’ for her brother is impossible to relate to. She comes across as a highly manipulative person who cannot look past her own needs and wants. Tonight too it seemed like she might eventually make an appearance at the nikkah because of what her son said. Her children also take after her but her husband has learned to have his own way without letting her know! Tonight, he warned Asfand and later was there for him too when the nikkah took place. His advice to Asfand was one of the reasons why Asfand decided to talk to Sadia.
Situations and Performances
There were many times when Asfand was shown having second thoughts, this was convincing and totally in line with his character. Asfand has definitely learned a few lessons and is not the same person who asked Mehwish to ask for an apology. Asfand’s flaws make his character even more likable because in a way his weaknesses make him a empathetic person. It is also great to see few people in Asfand’s life who can see that sometimes his niceness makes it easier for his sisters to exploit him. His conversation with his friends always gives an insight into a different side of his character. Asfand’s sisters’ scenes have been more or less the same throughout and definitely not the best part of this play so far. On the one side we have a refreshing character like that of Asfand and on the other hand we have these manipulative and conniving women who don’t have anything new or exciting to offer. Faysal Qureshi and Madiha Imam gave the best performances tonight. While Faysal Qureshi got a lot of screen time and hence plenty of opportunities to showcase his brilliant acting skills, Madiha Imam managed to make her presence felt in scenes which were brief and to the point. Watching Faysal Qureshi and Savera Nadeem together again on-screen was an absolute delight.
Overall Impression
I have to admit, the previous episode raised the bar really high therefore I had huge expectations from this episode. This episode primarily laid the foundations for what is coming ahead. Really looking forward to these new relationships growing. The preview of the next episode also showed that Mehwish will be back in Asfand’s life and will have some interesting questions to ask. This scene suggested, she still hasn’t moved on! Some of the scenes also suggested that Asfand will not let his sisters get away with having their own way once again… definitely looking forward to that too.

Showbiz industry calls for our stars and celebrities to look presentable and glamorous all the time. Be it a red carpet of any event or morning show appearances or any other talk shows, our celebrities put a lot of effort into looking good for their fans.
Recently, Yasir Nawaz also took things a bit too seriously but it did look like he was at a crunch of time, considering the director of his stature must be swamped with work, he couldn’t really put much thought into his outfit and went for something that was in his or probably and most appropriately Nida’s wardrobe.
Yasir Nawaz’s appearance on The After Moon Show with Yasir caused an uproar because firstly it did not sit well with the viewers and they could not contain their sentiments so they decided to let Yasir Nawaz know that his choice of Kurta was wrong on so many levels. What’s funny is that Yasir Nawaz seemed way too comfortable in it, that must be because a few of his genuine fans spilled the beans that he wore the same Kurta in his appearance on Mazaaq Raat as well.
What are your thoughts about this fashion sin committed by Yasir Nawaz. Let us know!
In any drama, as much as the story holds importance for it to click with the audience, brilliant performance by any actor holds equal importance too. Characters are used by the writers to convey the story and the actors, with their performances make or break the drama and those characters that are assigned to them.
In 2018, we came across a lot of such brilliant performances that left an impact on the viewers and helped conveying the story as it deserved to be.
In no particular order, here’s the list of The Most Impressive Performances of 2018:
Noman Ijaz (Dar Si Jati Hei Sila)
Noman Ijaz never ceases to impress and surprise the viewers with his amazing talent and limitless versatility. He is one of those very few gifted actors in our industry who can play any role assigned to them with precision. Noman Ijaz played the character of Joi in Dar Si Jati Hei Sila. Joi’s character was negative and dark, it was unlike any other character Noman Ijaz has played till date. He breathed life into this character almost effortlessly. His entire get-up and his performance made the viewers hate the character but left them in awe of Noman Ijaz’s exceptional acting skills. Through this character, Noman Ijaz proved yet again that versatility knows no bounds.
Yumna Zaidi (Dar Si Jati Hei Sila)
Yumna Zaidi’s brilliance in acting is recognized and appreciated by all the drama buffs. Although Yumna Zaidi is young and does not have as much experience in this field as many of her counterparts but she understands the art of performing better than many other actors who have been in the industry for a much longer period of time. Yumna Zaidi played the role of Sila in Dar Si Jati Hei Sila. Sila hardly had any dialogues therefore translating her emotions through expressions and body language was not an easy feat. Yumna Zaidi always translated Sila’s insecurities, fears, anger, depression and hopes and dreams immaculately on screen. The viewers found themselves rooting for and wanting to know more about her character because of Yumna’s superb performance.
Saman Ansari (Dar Si Jati Hei Sila)
Excelling in translating challenging roles on screen can easily be termed as Saman Ansari’s forte. Saman Ansari always transforms herself completely to fit into the characters she chooses to play and that is the main reason why her portrayals are always convincing. Saman Ansari played the role of Sadia in Dar Si Jati Hei Sila – a woman who was abandoned by her husband, ridiculed by her in laws and scorned by her only daughter. Sadia’s character was etched-out brilliantly and Saman Ansari translated every shade of this character superbly on screen making it easier for the viewers to understand it.
Sakina Samo (Dar Si Jati Hei Sila)
Sakina Samo’s performance in Dar Si Jati Hei Sila has to be one of the best performances of her career in recent times. She played a central role in the story and therefore got plenty of screen time. She played the role of Bari Aapa – an egoistic head of family who had her own complexes and shortcomings which affected the way she ran the household. Sakina Samo’s body language and the way she completely owned her character made Bari Aapa come alive on screen. Her persuasive performance was one of the best parts of the drama even though there was nothing even remotely likable about the character itself.
Aamna Malick (Dar Si Jati Hei Sila)
Aamna Malick made her presence felt every step of the way not only because her character was one of the most powerful ones in the play but also because she owned it completely. Zaini was an outspoken, wise, practical and sensitive girl who always questioned the way Bari Aapa ran the show in Noor Manzil. She was always the voice of reason and a breath of fresh air in a house where everyone was more than willing to accept Bari Aapa’s dictatorial ways. Her character was etched-out immaculately and it had even more of an impact because of the perfect portrayal. This was definitely one of the most impressive characters as well as one of the most memorable performances this year.
Sheikh Mubashir (Dar Si Jati Hei Sila)
Sheikh Mubashir was seen on-screen for the first time in Dar Si Jati Hei Sila but his phenomenal performance in a role which was rather complicated won everyone over. Sheikh Mubashir was the perfect choice for playing the role of Hatim – a lovely boy who was rejected by his own mother over and over again, made to feel unwanted and unloved but had so much love to give. This character was beautiful in its own way and Sheikh Mubashir’s performances gave the viewers goose bumps.
Sami Khan (Khudgarz & Aisi Hei Tanhai)
Sami Khan is truly at the top of his game right now. He has a definite screen presence because of which he always steals the show almost effortlessly. Although most of the performances in Aisi Hei Tanhai were over-dramatic and the overall feel of the play was the same too but Sami Khan’s performance throughout was the best part of this drama. He brought out the best in his character because of which there were times when viewers felt more for Hamza than they did for any other character in this play.
Another one of his finest performances that we got to see was in Khudgarz. Hassan’s character was that of a disturbed man who could not see anyone happy and because of his own insecurities he ended up ruining quite a lot of lives. The journey of self-discovery then followed after a long dark phase of his life and Sami Khan nailed each and every shade of Hassan’s character, making it a one of the best performances of his acting career.
Aamina Sheikh (Khudgarz & Nibah)
Aamina Sheikh is one of those actors who add more grace and personality to their characters. In drama serial Nibah she played the role of Sofia, a strong, practical and intelligent woman who has to fight many battles at the same time. Sofia’s character was not perfect in any way and Aamina Sheikh made sure that she translated the flaws of this character just as brilliantly on-screen as she did the positive traits.
Aamina Sheikh is one of the finest actors that our industry has produced. She is an ace actor and that is why she brings her A-game every time she takes a character to portray. Aamina Sheikh made Aairah’s character a pivotal aspect in Khudgarz because of her phenomenal performance. Aairah’s journey was full of ups and downs and that is why viewers formed this connection to her only because Aamina Sheikh made it possible with her brilliant performance.
Asif Raza Mir (Nibah)
It is always a special treat watching Asif Raza Mir perform in any drama at all but it is especially pleasing when he is part of a drama which offers quality entertainment. Asif Raza Mir played the role of Shaheer in drama serial Nibah. Shaheer had many flaws and was constantly shown in a state of conflict. Asif Raza Mir translated the weaknesses and strengths of his character flawlessly on-screen. The on-screen chemistry which he shared with all his co-stars was another reason why his overall performance was even more impactful.
Omair Rana (Zun Mureed)
Omair Rana has done some remarkable roles in a short span of time and every time he has stood out because of his superb performances. This year he nailed a character which had many different shades and which went through a long journey of transformation. Sajjad’s character in Zun Mureed was a complicated one, to say the least, and the way Omair Rana translated different shades of this character on-screen was definitely impressive.
Shamim Hilali (Zun Mureed)
Shamim Hilali is another powerful actor who completely moulds herself to fit into the characters she chooses to play on screen. Her character in Zun Mureed was central to the plot but she did not have a single dialogue. Bi Jaan was a controlling old woman who found pleasure in putting her daughter in law through pain. Shamim Hilali’s performance was absolutely remarkable throughout. Her expressions and body language was always so perfect that it was never difficult to understand what Bi Jaan wanted and whatever she was going through.
Khalid Anum (Zun Mureed)
Khalid Anum is quite choosy about the projects he works in but whenever he is seen in a drama, he always gives a great performance. Khalid Anum played an interesting role in Zun Mureed. Abid was the one who played the role of an arbitrator when Sajjad and Tabbasum were separated. His character had flaws, just like any other character which is close to reality. Khalid Anum’s performance got better with every episode. He always gave a natural performance which made his character one of the best ones in this drama.
Sarah Khan (Belapur Ki Dayan)
Sarah Khan is a gifted actress but this year she did not do many challenging roles. Her role in Belapur Ki Dayan was the only one this year which was unconventional and she did complete justice to it. The horror scenes in particular were challenging and Sarah Khan nailed all of them. Sarah Khan was at her best when Natasha was possessed. This role had tons of room for performance and Sarah Khan made the most of it!
Amar Khan (Belapur Ki Dayan)
Amar Khan has just started her acting career on television but she is already making waves because of her performances as well as the kind of projects she has been a part of. In Belapur Ki Dayan, Amar Khan was the Dayan! Neelo’s character had a lot to offer since the viewers were also shown Neelo’s back story, when she was not a dayan! Amar Khan was scary as the dayan and utterly lovable as Neelo. This is why the viewers felt for her even though she was merciless as the dayan.
Sami Khan (Suno Chanda)
Sami Khan is the adorable little boy who won everyone over with his brilliant performance in Suno Chanda. There are very few actors his age who have so much confidence and a natural knack for acting. DJ’s character was hilarious and he got plenty of screen time as well. Sami Khan has tons of potential and we can already see an accomplished actor in him. He made the viewers fall in love with DJ’s character over and over again!
Nadia Afghan (Suno Chanda)
Nadia Afghan is a seasoned actor who has the perfect timing when it comes to doing comic characters. Every time she plays a new role, she makes you forget about the character she played previously. After nailing a serious character in drama serial Sammi last year, Nadia Afghan thoroughly entertained the viewers with her comic role in Suno Chanda. Comedy is even more enjoyable when the dialogues are delivered in perfect Punjabi and Nadia Afghan did just that. Shahana Batool’s relationship with all the characters in the show was the best part of Suno Chanda and it wouldn’t have been so if Nadia Afghan did not play the role so well.
Samina Ahmed (Suno Chanda & Aangan)
Samina Ahmed is a legendary actress who has done some outstanding roles in her vast career. It is however always refreshing to see her in roles which are lighthearted and fun. Bi Jaan from Suno Chanda was one such head of family who enjoyed everything in life while she ran a household which was not easy to run! Samina Ahmed’s overall look and the way she handled this character, made her performance and this character unforgettable. Bi Jaan was a strong woman with a light side which made her character one-of-a-kind.
Farhan Saeed (Suno Chanda)
Farhan Saeed is a brilliant actor who never disappoints. He was especially impressive in drama serial Suno Chanda. He can easily be termed as the best actor in that play since his character was unlike any other he has played on screen so far. Arsal was in no way a conventional hero and this character could have been annoying as well if it wasn’t translated on screen properly. Farhan Saeed was absolutely phenomenal as Arsal, his performance was natural and convincing throughout.
Mohsin Abbas Haider (Meri Guriya)
Mohsin Abbas Haider’s versatility and talent is exemplary. He makes every character he chooses to play memorable by giving it his best. He is an actor who relies solely on his acting abilities and hard work. Mohsin Abbas Haider makes every scene and even expression count because of the way he pays attention to little details. He is playing the role of a rapist and murderer in drama serial Meri Guriya. Dabeer is an evil psychopath with many different sides to his personality. Mohsin Abbas Haider’s acting has been beyond impressive throughout. He does not only make you hate his character but also impresses you over and over again with his apt portrayal.
Sania Saeed (Meri Guriya)
Every performance of Sania Saeed is an ultimate example of the art of effortless acting. Sania Saeed’s expressions and body language is always spontaneous because of which her portrayals are faultless. In drama serial Meri Gurya, Sania Saeed is playing the role of a strong mother who does whatever she can in order to ensure that her daughter’s murderer gets punished. The character itself has a great deal going for it and the fact that Sania Saeed has performed it brilliantly makes it even more remarkable. Every year Sania Saeed plays at least one role which leaves a lasting impression.
Sonya Hussyn (Meri Guriya)
Sonya Hussyn is another actress who completely transforms herself so that she can look and act the role she is assigned. Her performance in Meri Guriya is grounded and powerful. The character itself is inspiring too and Sonya Hussyn clearly gave this performances her 100 percent.
Qavi Khan (Aangan)
Abba Jee’s character was the backbone of the family in drama Aangan and who could have done justice to it better than Qavi Khan. Qavi Khan fitted the role perfectly and what made his character even more endearing is his personality. Qavi Khan has father-figure written all over him that is why it was so much fun watching him when he was in lighter mood and equally heart-wrenching when he was faced with hardships. The best thing about Abba Jee’s character was his sense of justice and wisdom of differentiating between right and wrong. He always spoke the truth and did not hold back in taking charge of the situation like the elder of the family. Qavi Khan has always performed brilliantly and the one in Aangan is definitely memorable.
Irsa Ghazal (Aangan)
It won’t be an exaggeration if we say that this has to be one of best performances of Irsa Ghazal in recent times. This was for the first time that Irsa as Hajra in Aangan performed without holding back. To see Irsa Ghazal playing the role of a Punjabi Bahu with so much ease and effortlessness was a treat in itself and what made it better was the way her character was written by Faiza Iftikhar. Hajra was straight forward and being the eldest daughter in law she knew she should not sugarcoat things in order to fix them. The way Irsa Ghazal performed the character of Hajra always made us look forward to her scenes and she turned it into a memorable performance.
Noor ul Hassan (Aangan)
Noor ul Hassan portrayed the character of Sajjad; a BP patient who has taken the financial responsibility of the family to perfection. Right from the beginning of the drama, Noor ul Hassan was in his element and gave Sajjad’s character a perfect treatment. He was a guide, a mentor to his children and he was a safety blanket for his parents as well as his brothers. Noor ul Hassan’s effortless performance made Sajjad’s character admirable and unforgettable.
Iffat Omar (Aangan)
Iffat Omar portrayed the character of an educated, independent wife of Laila phenomenally. Laila’s character was strong and despite the curveball life threw at her, she emerged as a winner and it was because of Iffat Omar’s perfect performance, that made Laila’s character what it is. Iffat Omar has this strong screen presence that just sets her apart and makes her stand out and her acting in Aangan was phenomenal as well.
Syed Jibran (Khudgarz)
Syed Jibran is one of those actors who breathe life into the characters that are assigned to them and this is what he did to Junaid’s character in Khudgarz. A man who was in touch with his emotional side, who might not have the courage to look into the eyes of his enemies yet still could move mountains for the sake of his love, Syed Jibran’s performance was brilliant in Khudgarz and it was because of his such a realistic portrayal that the viewers shed tears when his character died in the drama.
Yasir Nawaz (Khudgarz)
Even though Yasir Nawaz had a very short but pivotal role to play in Khudgarz, he turned that limited screen-time into a treat for the viewers. Omar’s character had this calmness with which he faced and always left an angry Hassan speechless and Yasir Nawaz played that character beautifully. Yasir Nawaz has proved himself as a director but it is so good to see him on screen, trying different characters now. His talent deserves to be seen and it is amazing that he showcased it through such a brilliant performance.
Zahid Ahmed (Visaal)
Zahid Ahmed and the character of Akram is the best thing about Visaal. Zahid Ahmed got a lot of backlash because of his monotonous acting lately but in Visaal he proved his caliber as an actor. Akram’s character had to portrayed in a certain dramatic way which Zahid Ahmed did without overdoing it. His mannerism in the initial episodes as well as his wrath in the ending episodes showcased all the shades that Akram’s personality had and Zahid Ahmed did complete justice to it. Zahid Ahmed should keep on experimenting more and more in order to break the monotony and give his fans something new to enjoy.
Saboor Ali (Visaal)
Saboor Ali has made a name for herself by giving some really good performances in recent times but the one in Visaal showed the potential and the drive she has to perform different characters. Naheed wasn’t evil but she let jealousy get the better of her and she ended up ruining her best friend’s life. Naheed’s character went through a lot of phases and Saboor Ali conveyed the body language and thought process of that character brilliantly throughout the drama.
Imran Ashraf (Lashkara)
Imran Ashraf is a phenomenal character actor that is why no matter what character is assigned to him, he outdoes himself every single time. Imran Ashraf’s performance in Lashkara as Sunny is another recent example – Sunny has a lot of shades, he was lively and romantic but then life took a turn and he had to let go of his love only to fight for its honor later and Imran Ashraf has done justice to each and every aspect of Sunny’s character and journey. Imran Ashraf makes it a treat to watch his characters because of his brilliant performances.
Ushna Shah (Lashkara)
Ushna Shah has emerged as another one of those actors who can be relied upon in order to watch a drama. Even though Ushna Shah has been a part of the industry for quite some time now but it has been only recently that she got to explore and push her boundaries as an actor and we are impressed. Lashkara is another such drama that gave Ushna Shah a chance to perform wholeheartedly and she delivered.
Meherbano (Lashkara)
To play a negative character that too with such finesse is not an easy task but Meherbano has nailed her character of Nikki by performing brilliantly. Meherbano is a gifted actor that is why she has such a strong grip on Nikki’s character. Her performance involves a lot of anger and fury which Meherbano has elaborated brilliantly on screen.
Sanam Chauhdry (Ghar Titli Ka Par)
It won’t be wrong to say that Anji’s character is the selling point of Ghar Titli Ka Par and the entire credit goes to Sanam Chauhdry for making it worth-while with her phenomenal performance. Anji is a nightmare but only Sanam Chauhdry could make it look interesting in an amusing way. Anji’s antics and her mannerisms, everything has been done to perfection by Sanam Chauhdry that is why despite the unnecessary dragging, viewers are still tuning to Ghar Titli Ka Par as they still want to see what Anji is upto. Sanam Chauhdry has single-handedly carried this drama on her shoulders with her brilliant performance and execution of Anji’s character.
Kinza Hashmi (Ishq Tamasha)
Even though Ishq Tamasha flopped as a drama, Kinza Hashmi does deserve a mention in this list because when the drama began, it was mainly Rushna’s character performed by Kinza that grabbed the attention of the viewers. For the first time Kinza Hashmi shone in any drama and did not hold back in showing her acting skills. Such an amazing performance by Kinza Hashmi did come as a surprise because no one could have thought that she had it in her.
Please share your say and feel free to add more names to the list.
Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 22 Story Review – This episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha had some of the most important developments to its credit. It was emotional throughout and just like always Sami Khan’s performance was the highlight of this episode. Zaid actually did whatever Naina’s father told her but the fact that he already realized his mistake and tried to do whatever he could to “undo” the damage makes him worthy of Naina’s forgiveness.
Naina Finds Out The ‘Truth’
Yes! Whatever Naina found out in this episode, indeed was true because Zaid did ‘warm up’ to this relationship, only after he figured out that he could use Naina’s mother to have an easy access to everything he had ever dreamed of and more. Since Zaid has just realized how wrong he was not just now but all along and more importantly he has just found out that he too has a conscience therefore he is fighting a battle he was not even prepared for. Also, Zaid never thought he was capable of falling in love with someone like this so he has a lot to deal with at one. Now that Naina has found out what he has been doing, he wants to be punished. Zaid did not ask for an apology when Naina confronted him but he asked her to punish him. All these situations, the dialogues and the performances were absolutely remarkable. Zaid’s stance, the realization, the mental turmoil, those questions coupled with Sami Khan’s mind-blowing performance made these scenes a treat to watch. Madiha Imam fits perfectly in this beautiful role and watching Naina suffer all over again was painful. Zaid and Naina’s love story has been heart-warming throughout but tonight everything they went through was more impactful than ever.
Arham’s Explanation – What?!!
While you can’t help but feel for Zaid and root for him, Arham’s character is a disgrace! The explanation he gave Naina was completely flawed and does not explain why he decided to flee to another country. Their plan was to run away in the middle of the night therefore he had plenty of time to call off the plan by informing Zaid, if he did not have the guts to have this conversation with Naina. Although, Arham has always been shown as a coward but even then this particular explanation was especially lame. Now that Arham’s father has ‘forgiven’ his sister and the family is back together, there is nothing standing in Arham and Naina’s way but I am sure no one wants to see them together. Arham has to be one of the most annoying characters we have seen in dramas this year. His spinelessness in particular has been the most obvious flaw in his character which has driven his plot throughout. He owns this trait like a boss and is not even sorry for it!
Overall Impression
This episode overall was one of the best ones we have seen so far. The role Naina’s father played, her mother’s concern, the manner in which Naina confronted Zaid and most importantly Zaid’s state of mind – all these were shown convincingly. Arham’s character needs some serious telling off by Naina, that is one thing I am looking forward to watching. Naina and Zaid’s happy ending will be the best way to end this play. Naina is sensible and sensitive enough to make a decision which will not be guided by anger therefore in the end Zaid will probably be forgiven but for now watching him suffer is not easy. Zaid and Naina’s story has been a roller coaster ride, one of the best love stories we have seen in dramas this year but the production house and ARY has not done justice to it.

Mawra’s Birthday has somewhat been very popular these past two days due to celebration at the sets of her upcoming drama serial “Aangan” and due to her spending her big day at an old age home. She spending her birthday at an old age home is a very beautiful gesture of kindness on her part and the fans crave to see such humble and kind side of their favorite personalities.
Mawra has done yet another thoughtful gesture on the occasion of her birthday. She decided to donate for Dam fund so as to give back to the nation that has made her who she is today.
Mawra tweeted, “With the wish to give back on my birthday, I’ve donated 100,000 to the Dam Fund”. She said that this was for the Prime Minister Imran Khan. “This is for my PM @ImranKhanPTI”.

She further admired Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar for this great initiative.
Childhood is a very precious time for every kid regardless of whichever society and class he belongs to. That’s the time when you enjoy your life to the fullest without any tensions or responsibilities. Everything is different when you’re a child, This exactly is the case with our heartthrob Ahad Raza Mir.
Ahad Raza Mir a Canadian born artist, who remained associated to the Canadian theater as an actor and a writer , made it big in Pakistani showbiz industry when he did Sammi. He had done a drama very long ago when he was just a teenage boy. After Sammi he did Yaqeen Ka Safar. Ahad’s fame is due to his brilliant acting, his humble and charming personality and his looks. Ahad has done his Film Debut this year with “Parwaz Hai Junoon”.
Ahad Raza Mir’s Childhood video has surfaced on social media and it is too cute and too adorable to handle. Ahad is singing and performing on “Hum Yahan” by Kumar Sanu when he must have been five years old max. He sings “Churaya Dill Yar Ka” line with the singer and he sure is trying to display the emotions of the song with his hand movements and hair throw. Ahad is showing his acting talent and skills in this video proving that he was a born actor and has gotten acting in his genes.
Here is the cutest video of Ahad you’ll see on internet.
Mawra Hocane has become a name that does not need any recognition. She has been doing TV for quite some time now but this year she made it to the big screen with Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2 not to mention that she did work for across the border before she hit Pakistani screens with JPNA 2.
Mawra had her birthday on September 28th and it turns out that she celebrated her birthday three times this year. Firstly she was thrown a surprise on the sets of her upcoming, most anticipated drama “Aangan”. Her sister Urwa Hocane was also present at the surprise as always. Mawra celebrated her birthday the second time at an old age home “Bint e Fatima” because she had promised one of the woman there that she would celebrate her birthday with her.
Turns out that she celebrated her birthday one more time and that was organized by none other than Urwa and that too at the midnight, the second her birthday started. Mawra was in her pajamas and she has a beautiful pink cake with M written on it. Her whole bed was decorated and she was overjoyed that moment when the candles were lit. Even the spark of the candles couldn’t outshine the spark that she had in her eyes.
So the first one was at Aangan sets, kind of like a pre-birthday celebration. Second celebration was at midnight with her sister Urwa and last but not the least with the mothers of “Bint-e-Fatima”. Mawra was equally enthusiastic for all three of them.
We wish Mawra to have many more such beautiful birthdays.
Sibling’s happiness sometimes is more important for a person than their own happiness. A sibling relationship is likely to be the most enduring of our lives. The impact they have on our young and adult lives is enormous – they shape our history and our character, to a far greater extent than it is usually acknowledged.
