Ali Zafar’s Chashme Baddoor to release this April in India!

0

There are a very few celebrities of Pakistan who have made a place for themselves in Bollywood and call it luck or his talent, Ali  Zafar is one of them.  With his first movie across the border, it seemed that he would soon return to Pakistan with no aim of working outside the country, but that’s what progress is all about and finally, Ali Zafar’s most awaited venture is all way done and will release in India on April 5, 2013.

Chashme Baddoor (2013) Hindi MP3 Songs Download

David Dhavan’s remake of an old classic Indian movie Chashme Baddoor is assumed to be an entertaining package for every member of the family where Ali Zafar will be seen in the role of Farooque Sheikh, that is, a lead role. Ali seems quite happy about it and said:

“When I saw the original ‘Chashme Buddoor’, I knew that the plot must retain its authenticity. Also, while it must have been a challenge to render it into modern times and aesthetics, David sir has done a brilliant job. It’s a family entertainer. I think we are all excited about it,”

The movie is also close to his heart because just like his previous movie, London, Paris, New York, he has sung a song for this one too which has already grabbed a good audience by now. The song is what you know as  “Dhichkyaaon Doom Doom” and Shreya Ghoshal has also contributed in vocals.

The audience is waiting for the movie to figure it out that how one of their favorite old movies looks like after 30 years.

Lets see how things turn out to be for Ali Zafar,

Remake Of Old Pakistani Classic Films By Geo And Tarang Foods

0

There was a time when Pakistani films were watched by all the cinema goers and the leading ladies and gentlemen used to be the heart throb of many Pakistanis. Not only this but some of the old Pakistani films’ music was simply unforgettable. Even people who do not belong to the generation in which these films were released have watched these movies or if nothing else have definitely heard the songs. Geo Films and Tarang foods have taken a very positive step by remaking six of these unforgettable classics as telefilms. Many of us are eagerly waiting for these telefilms to be aired because the promos look very promising and who wouldn’t want to watch a classic again. The project has been named the “Tarang Housefull” project and the music for all the six movies will be released in Karachi on March 20th. This is not going to be the first time that Geo Films has taken a step forward to revive cinema in Pakistan, The movie Bol was also a Geo Films productions and was highly appreciated at home and abroad.

The films which have been remade as tele-films include Aaina, Deewar Bhabbi, Arman, Abhi tu Mein Jawan Houn, Anjuman and Dil Mera Dharkan Teri. Here are the details of these upcoming telefilms and some of the promos…definitely something wonderful to look forward to.

Tarang Films

Armaan has to be the most waited of all the telefilms because it stars Fawad Khan and also because Armaan was a big hit of its time. The classic film Armaan was produced by Waheed Murad and directed by Pervaiz Malik. It was the first Pakistani film to complete 75 weeks in cinemas and, thus, became the first Pakistani “Platinum Jubilee” film. It starred Zeba and Waheed Murad and the song Ko Ko Korina was a huge hit, it also won six awards.

Armaanarman

The telefilm Armaan has been produced by Seventh Sky Entertainment and directed by Anjum Shehzad. Fawad Afzal Khan and Amna Sheikh are playing the lead in the Telefilm, one of the promos is already out. Acccording to the producer Abdullah Kadwani “Fawad is the closest actor to Waheed Murad”. He also added while talking to express tribune that “Whether it was his hairstyle, grooming or fashion sense, Waheed Murad is a legacy when it comes to Pakistani films, It was through Armaan that he also solidified his status as chocolate boy.” I am sure many will agree with him that Fawad Khan indeed was the right choice for playing the character which was once played by the legendary Waheed Murad.

abhi tu mei

Abhi Tu Mein Jawan Hun is another telefilm that looks very interesting from the promos but we don’t know a lot of details about it yet except that It stars Meekal Zulfiqar, Bushra Ansari, Atiqa Udho and Ayesha Khan. Everyone is very well acquainted with the song “Abhi tu mein jawan hun” and the storyline of the telefilm seems just as fun and bubbly as the song itself. We will be watching all our favorite stars in a completely new light. I think Meekal will do a great job with his character since the guy does have a knack for humor.

abhi tu mein jawan hun

Anjuman is another old classic that is being remade, this was another classic that was watched and liked by many for a very long time. The telefim stars Sara Loren, Imran Abbas, Suhaee Ali Abroo and others. The telefilm has been directed by Yasir Nawaz and written by Zanjabeel Asim and Noor-ul-Huda Shah. The original film boasted of a super hit cast with Waheed Murad and Raani playing the lead.

Sara Loren

Dil Mera Dharkan Teri is yet another old Waheed Murad film that is also being remade as a telefilm. The cast includes, Ahsan Khan, Sanam Saeed and Sarwat Gillani. It has been directed by Mehreen Jabbar and Produced by Six Sigma Productions.

ahsan sarwat

The promos of the film Dewar Bhabi suggest that Sami Khan has done a wonderful job and it is nice to see Saima, who is also part of our film industry, in the telefilm. I don’t recall watching Saima on the small screen ever so definitely looking forward to that.

All of these telefilms are going to bring back old memories for those who have watched these classics and will bring some fun entertainment our way. We are very thankful to Geo Films and Tarang foods for taking this step. Which telefilms are you looking forward to the most and why?

Meera to do a Bollywood Movie “Beauty Queen”!

0

Countries that produce quality content locally are fortunate enough to have devoted artists who prefer to serve their nation first rather than seeking opportunities elsewhere.  Pakistan, despite of the fact that the drama industry has really grown huge recently, is a country where most of the singers and film industry’s celebrities  seems quite unhappy with their career within the country and are always looking for opportunities across the border.

07april_meera

Lollywood Actress Meera, who is known for her beauty and yes, for her English skills specially, is now again all set to work in India after giving two flop movies previously. She did work with Ashmit Patel in Mahesh Bhatt’s Nazar, making her debut in India, The next movie where she tried really hard to impress the Indian audience was Kasak, starring Lucky Ali but unfortunately both of the above stated movies were a great disappointment.

According to the latest reveals, Meera has been signed by  Sunil Bansal for his movie “Beauty Queen”, also starring Zeenat Aman and Aman Verma as a major cast. Meera, although hasn’t talked about her role in the movie, it is assumed that Meera is quite happy with the role been offered to her.

Just like Veena Malik and  Mona Lisa(Sara Loren), it is now Meera to switch to India to offer her acting services. Lets see how things turn out to be for her this time,

Rehaii Episode 1 – Review

0

The first 5 minutes of Rehaai’s first episode very powerful. Rehaai started out with Samina Peerzada (Shamim) looking at some jewelry and  having a flashback to a 10-11 year old girl on a swing asking her mother if Bhabi was right and that she really is getting married. That is the first time my heart stopped in that episode and I think it was only minute 4.  That set the track in motion for the remaining episode.  Rehaai is about child marriages (or child molestation in my opinion). It’s the story of Shamim who was married off when she was 10-11 years old. She now has a grown son Vaseem (Noman Ejaz) and a daughter in law Shehnaz (Maria Wasti). Vaseem and Shehnaz have been married for over 5 years yet still don’t have kids and now Vaseem is adamant on marrying again for kids. Vaseem is not only rude, obnoxious, and illiterate; he verbally and physically abuses his wife for not giving him an heir. Medically, they both are apparently fine though. Shamim is shown to be a very loving and supporting mother in law (finally) who keeps telling her son to have patience in Allah’s wisdom.

In the mix are Chacha Inayat (Munawwar Saeed) and his 11-12 year old daughter Kulsum (Yashaal). Chacha Inayat in my opinion is the root of all of Vaseem’s jahalat and badtameezi. He coerces Vaseem into thinking that he needs to marry a much younger girl so she will ‘give him a child every year.’  He even uses himself as an example by telling Vaseem that when When Kulsoom was born he was 56 and Kulsoom’s (unfortunate) mother was only 13. (I’ll discuss my contempt and disgust for this a little later).  Chacha Inayat also coerces Vaseem into agreeing to marry his daughter Kulsoom, to which even Vaseem says no since she is just a child. Later however, he agrees and when he asks his chacha when they can get married, that’s when he drops the 35,000 rupees bomb. Apparently Kulsoom’s disgusting father owes someone thousands of rupees and tells Vaseem in no certain terms will he marry his daughter off without paying off his debt. Basically he is selling his daughter for what was initially 35,000 rupees but settled at 30,000 rupees.  Needless to say Shamim is infuriated at her son’s decision, but Vaseem is willing to step over his mother’s dead body to marry Kulsum. Disgusting Chacha sends Vaseem to see Kulsoom where he tells her about their upcoming marriage. When Kulsoom confronts her father he sugar coats it by saying that since she loves her Tai Amma and Shehnaz Apa so much, he’s marrying her off to ‘Vaseem Bhai’ so she can live with them forever. Poor child has no idea about the physical and emotional torture she is about to be put through and is just happy that she will be living with Tai Ammi.  First episode ends there.

As I said above, the first episode was really powerful, yet at the same time extremely disturbing. Acting wise, you can’t get better than Samina Peerzada. She needs no words to describe her acting and neither does Munawar Saeed.  Noman Ejaz is very effective as the jaahil and badtameez person. Maria Wasti was ok…her role in the first episode (in my opinion) was definitely needed but it wasn’t anything extraordinary. I really liked how for the first time the mother in law was shown in a positive and supporting role towards a bahu who hasn’t been able to conceive yet. At the same time though, Shamim seemed too refined for that role. Her mannerisms and dialogue delivery was not in sync with the environment the characters live in. In fact until I saw Chacha Inayat, I wondered how her son could end up like that.  But then when uses terms like “hud-har***m” in front of an 11-12 year old, and that too to describe that child’s father, you are back in that environment.  Mehreen Jabbar’s direction was brilliant…especially the swing and the doll scenes.

Now, let’s acknowledge the elephant in the room…child molestation/marriages.  I absolutely think this is an issue that strongly needs to be dealt with and taken care of.  I wanted to vomit when Chacha Inayat was selling his daughter to Vaseem…it was absolutely abhorring. However, I don’t think it should have been so in your face.  Even though this was only the first episode and really not too much was shown, even what was shown was absolutely not appropriate for prime time. There should be an adult censor system for such dramas.  More than that, I am actually scared for the child star Yashal’s real life. I can’t imagine or understand how and why her parents let her do this role. The society that we live in has shown repeatedly what can happen when you have such suggestive roles. I can’t imagine what this girl went through in school or public.  I think had ‘Team Rehaai’ wanted to really talk about such injustice, it could have been done in much more subdued way and should have.  At such points people really should ask themselves if they would let their own kids do such roles. If the answer is no, then that should be the answer for every child and they should find a different way to discuss this problem. I was not at all comfortable watching this. Especially the scene where Kulsoom is bringing Chai to “Vaseem Bhai” and is completely oblivious of the fact that she is now looked upon as a prospect…absolutely sickening! I honestly don’t know what HUM TV is trying to do with showing such ‘in your face’ scenes and unfortunately it has become a trend in all of Momaina Duraid’s home productions.  They are becoming too bold and too open while hiding behind the terms ‘Social injustice.’

Kahi Unkahi Episode 20 – Review.

0

So, today’s episode was a bit calm after the storm. It again revolved around Sherry & the problems people related to him were facing.

Most of the episode was based on the flashbacks but just a quick note to the editors of the drama. ‘We’re the die heart fans of this drama & we know what has happened in the past & hence, we all, being the fans of the drama have a great memory of it, so, we do not need the flashbacks’ :). Each & every person today was seen reminiscing about the past events first Zoya then Sherry then Anam & even Mr. Kamal.

Mr. Kamal did try to ignore what has happened & was trying to keep himself busy in his work, he even tried to ignore the worrisome face of Mrs. Kamal but after all being a father, the news of Sherry’s phone getting snatched away got him involved in some sort of a deep thought or even we can say some regret too. If he had not been so cruel to Zoya & her father, Sherry wouldn’t have taken such a huge step.

Zoya, in her village is not at all happy, her father, being a simple minded person is once again fooled by the clever elder brother & his son. But Zoya has sensed what their intentions are & she is not at all willing to get married. Obviously, she is an educated & well-groomed girl, how can she even imagine living with a guy who bragged in front of his father about his qualifications which were ‘Athveen Pass’.

Sherry was totally seen busy in the travelling & to add to his woes, he lost his cellphone & his wallet. I didn’t see that coming, but yes, they have shown the reality once again. People who come from abroad do commit these sort of mistakes by not taking care of their belongings attentively & end up bearing the loss. Well, Sherry didn’t even bother about anything because to him what mattered the most was getting to Zoya by any means necessary & he was relieved to see that he had the ticket for travelling. While he was on a Tonga, I uttered to myself that how was he even using Tonga when he had no money & my husband told me ‘he must be travelling with a few pennies left in his pocket’. That cracked us up. It’s always something enjoyable to have that sort of a commentary going on while watching a drama.

Anam’s scene wasn’t shown in detail & honestly speaking I wasn’t even interested in what’s going on with that family. I am sure she will be fine but obviously being such a conceited person how can she even live for a moment without being the centre of everybody’s attention. This must be her last try to win Sherry back or to make him understand what he means to her, but sadly & fortunately enough, it’s too late now.

The preview of the next episode seems a bit more dramatic than ever. Zeeshan is obviously free & has nothing to do that’s why he always looks up for an opportunity to rush to Sherry’s place for creating a drama. Sherry is roaming around & I hope he finds Zoya ASAP & rescues her from her Taya & her cousin. Things for now are looking promising between Mariam & Ansar. They both are now seen spending a bit more time together & I am sorry to say I am not at all amused by the silent hovering soul that Mrs. Kamal has become over the last few episodes. She is not even seen participating in any of the issues that arise in her family in fact it seems like Mariam has taken her place & is trying to resolve the conflicts & the issues. I hope, for once I get to see a heated discussion between Mr. & Mrs. Kamal, where she gives him a piece of her mind for spoiling Sherry’s childhood by sending him away & for making all the wrong decisions for their family. She should at least make him realize that he has been wrong all this while. I hope it happens & if it does, it for sure will make the drama complete for me in literal sense. But, I can’t wait for the next episode. Bring it on.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Mera Pehla Pyar – The Finale

So Mera Pehla Pyar finally came to an end this past Saturday. I admit, I was a little surprised as I thought it would go on for at least another 3-4 episodes, especially afer Irfan’s entry, so am very happy that it was not prolonged any further.

So what happens in the last 3 episodes? Well let’s see, Maira and Bilal go to Maira’s house to get some clothes and enters Irfan. He is apparently there to threaten Maira and tell that if she remarries he will take Bilal away from her.  I’ll ignore the fact that Bilal’s age is 10 (as opposed to 11 and 12 in previous episodes) all and move on to his interaction with his estranged father.  Bilal clearly and strongly opposes Irfan’s gesture to become a father again and reminds him that he is only “Mama ka beta.”  Within 2 minutes Irfan’s entire personality changes and he all of a sudden realizes what he has done, apologizes to Maira, and wishes her well for her future endeavors.  Are you kidding me? Apparently Irfan was hit with the same magic wand that Bilal was hit with when he all of a sudden became friends with Taha in a matter of minutes. They both went from one extreme to the other in less than 2 minutes. Can the makers of MPP please tell me where to purchase this magic wand? I’ll take one in every size and color…thank you!!

Aijaz Aslam needs to realize that he is first an actor and then Faisal Qureshi’s friend. Why he would do such a pointless role is beyond me.  If this role was meatier and lasted a few episodes it would have been different, but this did not suit him at all. First of all, unlike Faisal Qureshi, Aijaz Aslam hasn’t aged well…one can see the botox and the jet black hair plugs from a mile away.  Second, he actually seemed uncomfortable portraying Irfan’s character.  His expressions, body language, dialogue delivery, all seemed very unnatural. I honestly thought he would the hindrance in Taha and Maira’s lives, but Irfan came, he saw, and he left…all within a few minutes.  Also, when Irfan is leaving and runs into Taha, he puts his hands on Taha’s shoulders; which to me was a gesture of approval and saying ‘take care of Maira and Bial.’ How does Taha get ticked off at that? With all the things in his life that he could and should have been ticked off at, the director chose this? And in fact, that was the hindrance and it lasted for almost an entire episode.

Irfan leaves while Taha is coming; Taha sees Maira with Irfan, gets (Unnecessarily) ticked off and leaves. For the next half an hour, 45 minutes we are lead to believe that there is some huge misunderstand between Maira and Taha, only to find out that Taha was uncomfortable seeing Irfan.  The entire family is worried, including Ziad of course and the only thing Zara can do is further antagonize that situation by telling both Ziad and Taha that the only reason Maira wants to marry Taha is so she can go back to Irfan (method halala for those wondering how that is going to happen).  I think my favorite part was when Taha finally said “Shut up Zara, just shut up.” I replayed that quite a few times and enjoyed it every time.  When she was mouthing off to Ziad about her conditions for their wedding, I wanted to yell ‘run Ziad run…run and don’t look back, ever!’ I have no idea why Ziad likes Zara…I concede she is very pretty and charming, but there’s a saying that ‘charm only lasts for 15 minutes…after that you better know something.’ Unfortunately Zara doesn’t know anything and her charm was over in the first episode.  There is no justification for the character of Zara. At some point writers, script editors, directors, and production houses need to realize that characters like Zara are completely unnecessary. As a female I find it offensive that the people in charge think Zara type characters are necessary for ratings. For God’s sake, please stop demeaning women.

Anyways, Taha’s father calls Maira and tells her to come straighten things out with Taha and of course she does. Everyone is now happy and wedding preparations are on full swing. In the midst of all this, Ayesha realizes how wrong she was and apologizes to Taha and her Khala. She is happy to know that Hira is finally in good hands.  The episode ends with what seemed to be Ziad and Zara’s wedding and right after that Maira and Taha’s… a happy ending for everyone finally.

Mera Pehla Pyar started out very strong. It was a family friendly script with absolutely no ‘awkward moments,’ the story (though somewhat like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in the beginning) had a more innocent and less filmy feel.  After about 10 episodes though,  not only did it feel like it was dragging a lot (some episodes could all have been combined into 1), it felt as if Mera Pehla Pyar had 3 different writers who never met each other or share their scripts with each other. The director just took all three and made the serial. I mean who would have thought that Taha, who didn’t even get ticked at his first wife for being a model, would be so uncomfortable seeing Maria’s ex (who was leaving) and have a fit? Unfortunately this is very typical of A&B productions.  Their serials always start out great, yet don’t start going down stream after a while. Even having such an experienced director like Sohail Javed didn’t help as it seemed like he forgot direction in this serial.

Having said all of that, all the characters did absolute justice to their roles (with the exception of Aijaz Aslam).  That’s the one constant that never changed. From the kids, to Laila Zuberi and Sheheryar Zaidi, to Nosheen Shah, Shazia, and of course Faisal Qureshi, everyone was on par. The script was written by the very young Zain Raza and Jawairia Hafeez. I believe this was their first venture and that too joint so just for that they deserve many accolades.

Thanks for reading everyone!

Kaash Aisa Ho Episode 8 – Insecurities!

Not much happened in this week’s episode. We saw Maleeha and Shayan getting closer and Irfa getting insecure and jealous. I understand Irfa’s predicament as no woman can see her husband roaming with another woman practically everywhere. She is very possessive when it comes to Shayan as she is in constant fear that he will leave her for another woman, as she feels that she is not good enough for him. She tries to tell Shayan how she feels and also tells him what neighbors have started to say about him and Maleeha, but she gets a very vague response from him. He replies that it is a part of his job and Adeel Farooqui had given him the responsibility to take care of Maleeha. Since when did you become so responsible Shayan?

After their conversation, Irfa becomes resigned and tells Shayan that he can do whatever he wants and she would not say anything to him anymore. It was the first time Irfa got extremely upset with Shayan and this time Shayan went to patch things up with Irfa (Just like Irfa had dreamed before). He said the most amazing dialogues which won her over once again. He said that ‘I married you because I knew you loved me, and I know that nobody in this world can love me more than you. You are the only one who can turn all my sadness into happiness. Do not ever think that Shayan will leave Irfa. People like Maleeha and Adeel Farooqui will come and go from our life and they should not affect our relationship’

These were the most beautiful dialogues said in the most beautiful manner. They managed to melt Irfa’s heart and I must say mine too.

I always had this feeling from the beginning that Adeel Farooqui’s intentions were not good and this episode confirmed it. He asked Maleeha if she is interested in Shayan which shocks Maleeha. She tells him that he is a married man but in reply her father says that his wife does not suit him and she is not the kind of wife he can ever be happy with and he will get fed up of her very soon. How pathetic and low can he get? This managed to bring Maleeha’s hopes up and she got even more obsessed with Shayan. I cannot believe that she took sleeping pills just because Irfa picked up the phone when she called Shayan and told her not to disturb him. What a psychopath!

I hated the way Shayan ignored Irfa because of Maleeha. Adeel Farooqui asked him to accompany Maleeha for shopping and he agreed! He could have easily said no! He has always been very blunt and straightforward but what happened now? Shayan is a very confusing character. On one hand, he assures Irfa that he loves her and on the other hand, he also likes to roam around with Maleeha and enjoys her company. Maleeha is also trying to create misunderstanding between Irfa and Shayan and that is why she insisted on going inside his house to make Irfa aware that Shayan was with her the whole time. Irfa gets extremely sad and irritated to see this. He does even look after Irfa in her current condition. She needs care and attention and he is not able to provide her any and as usual, Irfa does not complain. Shahood Alvi also got introduced as Dr Bilal in this episode. He helps Irfa when she was not feeling well. Let’s see what his role is in this drama.

Overall, it was a good episode with some amazing dialogues. Mohib Mirza stole the show with his beautiful dialogues in this episode.

Keep watching the show! A lot of things are coming up!

Daagh Episode 21 – Surrounded by Problems!

0

Sometimes I wonder what makes me watch this show. There is nothing new in the storyline and some scenes are extremely distressing to watch. But there is definitely something which makes me watch one episode after the other without any fail and I think it is the lesson in it. I love shows with a lesson and a good message that reaches across to the audiences. There are lots of men like Murad who crave for sons and many women like Umama who suffer because of their husband’s obsession with sons. A show which manages to get a message across and influence lives is definitely worth a watch!

We saw one difficulty after another engulfing Umama in this episode. Life has become hard for Umama after her father’s death as she needs to look after 4 kids and support all of them alone financially too. It saddens her to see that she cannot even fulfill small needs of her kids. They barely have enough to eat while at Murad’s house there is more than enough food to eat, but no one present to eat it. She thinks of asking Murad to give money for his daughters but then decides against it. Her self-respect is refraining her from asking him for money but the question is, for how long?

It is hard to decide whether Mushtaq is an angel or a devil in disguise. He offers to help Umama which she gladly accepts. I sense that he has an ulterior motive behind his caring and helpful attitude, but what can it possibly be? It is hard to believe that he is interested in Umama and the kids all of a sudden. Her neighbors have started noticing Mushtaq coming to her house from time to time, and a woman comes to her place and points finger at her character! How pathetic! Why can’t people mind their own business? After that, Umama clearly tells Mushtaq not to visit their house.

After seeing Mushtaq drop the kids and Umama to school, Murad finally changes his decision and decides to go to Umama and offers her to come back to his house. Umama clearly refuses to come back and gets extremely angry when Murad asks if Mushtaq is the reason why she is not ready to come back. After hearing this, Umama’s patience gives away and she gives Murad a piece of her mind. She tells him that unlike him, she knows her limits. Murad definitely needed this!

Deeba has again started to play her games. She has again worn the facade of being a very obedient and caring wife and daughter in law. She manages to fool Murad but Aqeela is well aware of her games now and knows that she will change once she achieves her motive. Deeba even goes to Umama’s house to warn her to stay away from Murad. Umama clearly tells her to keep Murad because she has no interest in him anymore. After failing to convince Murad to give Umama a divorce, she tries to make Umama agree to give Murad a divorce. But as usual, all her efforts fail and Umama refuses to listen to her.

I loved the dialogue spoken by Aqeela to Murad:

“Yaad Rakhna Murad, Jo Bo Ge Wohi Paoge”

She tries to tell him that by doing injustice to Umama and her daughters, you are making a grave mistake as it will all come back to you in the form of karma. Well said Aqeela! I can’t believe I am saying this, but I actually agree with her.

It is hard for Umama to teach at the school as she needs to look after Soha too. She gets kicked out of the school when the principal clearly tells her that such careless attitude will not be tolerated. How will she support her kids now? Will she ask Murad for money or go back to his house again?

Let’s see what is in store for us in the next episode.
Keep watching!

If you take a closer look of the trend that is been followed by Mahesh Bhatt and his production house, it can be easily noticed that one they launch an artist, they make sure that the newcomers  survive pretty well in the industry. It had been Malika Sharwat, Imran Hashmi and Raneep  Hooda previously and its now the Mona Lisa of Pakistan who is now known as Sara Loren of India.

After earning a considerable amount of fame, wealth and recognition after her film with Mahesh Bhatt, Sara Loren’s performance in her movie Murder 3 has been one of the most interesting controversies lately. Although the co-stars of Loren found the importance given to her as unnecessary but it seems like Loren has been successful in making her place in the hearts of Bhatt and for that she has been signed for next three films from the same production.

Lets see what new changes she makes in her personality and nationality for her upcoming movies,

Dil-e-Muzter Episode 4 – Love Overpowering Hate!

0

Another episode that kept me hooked throughout! At first, I could understand why Adeel was behaving so rudely with Silah but now his behavior has turned cruel towards her. He is being extremely unreasonable and his behavior has become intolerable to watch. He is trying his best to make Silah regret her decision of marrying him and he is in no mood to forgive her. Silah, on the other hand, is refusing to break down and forgives Adeel for all his insults and taunts. She is being patient and cooperative as she knows that Adeel is angry now, but he would not be able to remain angry at her for long. At one point or the other, he will realize how much she loves him and reciprocate her feelings. She firmly believes that her love will overpower all his hate towards her.

I felt really felt bad for Silah in this episode. Adeel kept on hurting her and making her cry with his crude words. The scene where Safeena calls Silah and he snatches the phone from her and listens to all the insults and later on, the way he screams at her so badly made me cringe. Also, the way he scolded and insulted her just for going out for shopping with his friend’s wife Nabeela without his permission was just pathetic! Silah is trying her best to adjust to this situation and never complains about anything. And surprisingly, this irks Adeel more as he hates her for being so cooperative and obedient. She obeys all his orders without questioning him even once.
I must say, I really liked Adeel’s friend Sami as he was trying to make Adeel realize how lucky he is to have a wife like Silah, he kept on giving examples of how other wives behave with their husbands and how demanding they can be. This makes Adeel think and he finally notices that Silah does not ask anything for herself. This softens him a little towards her. He is finally realizing how much she had put at stake to be a part of his life. She has lost all her relationships because of her love for him and has no one expect him now. Adeel kept on thinking why Silah is enduring his unreasonable behavior towards her silently and why she never complains, he just cannot digest the fact that someone can love him so much but Sami makes him realize this fact. He tells Adeel that she chose this kind of life, full of hardships, because she truly loves him.

dil e muzter

Adeel has finally started to think of Silah in a positive light, his anger is slowly dissipating and he is starting to think from Silah’s point of view too. I absolutely loved the scene where they get an invitation from Sami and his wife to come to their place for dinner and he wears the shirt she had gifted him for his birthday. Silah notices this and comments that he looks nice! I loved the way she said ‘Ap Bohat Ache Lag Rahe Hai’ and the way she innocently asked Adeel ‘Mein Kaisi Lag Rahi Hun?’ and Adeel’s cold ‘Theek Hai’ brought a smile to my face. His attitude is slowly improving towards her as he refrained from taunting or making a vile comment this time. Phew! What a relief!

There were a few scenes in the episode that brought a huge smile on my face. The scene where he rudely orders her not to call him ‘Adi’ and she replies that it is a very old habit with a smile made him realize that his anger, taunts, insults and unrealistic demands have absolutely no effect on her. This makes him extremely frustrated! It was absolutely delightful to see him in this frustrated state. He totally deserved it!

Safeena has finally showed her true colors as she lies to Zamaan about Silah asking for her share in the inheritance when Safeena had called her. In reality, she had called Silah to insult her and to tell her that they have no relation with her anymore. She even tells her not to come back to them if Adeel kicks her out. She brainwashed Zamaan so much against Silah that he disowned her from his inheritance. He has decided to break all ties with her and both of them have decided to shift to Canada. Silah will be very upset when she will get to know that her parents have left without even informing her.

dil e muzter 1

What I loved about the episode was that it was extremely fast paced and did not drag at all. All the scenes were a delight to watch because of the amazing chemistry between Sanam and Imran. The preview for the next episode seems very promising and I am eagerly looking forward to the next episode.

Keep watching the show! A lot of things are coming up!

Salman Ahmed and Farooq Sattar promoting their cause at MAJU!!

0

It is always more than a pleasure when you see your country progressing in something if not economy, and no doubts about the fact that this nation is all full of talent. If you are an university student and keeps a track of all the latest happenings, you must know what level of potentials our youth has. It was only today that I attended a technology related competition which had been organized by the volunteers of Mohammad Ali Jinnah University-Karachi, and it was a real fun being there.

Untitled

Skipping the professional and academics part from the story, I decided to share the happenings that took place in the event which are related to the celebrities we genuinely love to see on our television screens. The heroes of this event SPARC-2013 are the guitarist-cum-singer, Salman Ahmed from the band Junoon and Mr. Farooq Sattar, the representative of one of the major political parties that are active in Karachi, the MQM.

The audience could not stop hooting when Salman Ahmed first appeared on stage and his legendary song “Junoon se aur ishq se milti hai azaadi” was been played in background. It was announced that it would be Mr. Imran Khan to appear in the university to hand over the gifts and prices to the winners but as Salman Ahmed revealed, Mr. Khan is really occupied in Lahore for his Jalsa which is scheduled on 23rd of March. Salman, though declared himself as an artist with no political influences, his speech had clear shades of how much he is inspired by the great Captain, Imran Khan and his policies. He also asked  the students to spare one day from their studies and visit Minaar-e- Pakistan on Pakistan day because that Jalsa would be a historical event and one should not really miss it.

20130316_151706

Sharing his experiences with the audience, Salman stated that his mother gave him two options to choose as a career, one, to become a doctor, and second, to become a doctor indeed. He shared that after his degree, he asked for a year for himself to explore what he actually wants from himself and it was then that he found his talent. He also shared few moments that he spent with his dear friend Junaid Jamshed and turned the center of discussion from politics towards his new song. It was only at that time when the chief guest and a sound member of Mutaheda Qoumi Movement, Mr. Farooq Sattar entered the auditorium and it seemed strange to have two representatives of different political parties sharing the same stage.

Salman Ahmed addressed Mr. Sattar and informed him that it was “Dil dil Pakistan” few years back and its now “Naya Pakistan’ Inshallah”. With this, he started performing on the song and left no other option for the viewers but to feel a patriot within themselves.

DSC08867

Just after Salman’s performance, It was Mr. Sattar who started his speech and mentioned that his words follow the policy of ZONG (that is, SUB KEHDO) and not of Telenor (That is. Tawk Shawk, Baton waaton main). The humor that his words created lightened the environment and he further continued his speech, highlighting the aims and objectives of his party.DSC08871

He also encouraged the youth to come forward and take a stand to ensure the personal security in a country where Pizza Service is quicker than the Police. The students of the university and the participants from different universities maintained the decorum throughout his speech and finally he handed over the prices and shields to the winners of the competition.

It was a good experience all in all to hear from two celebrities who were there to represent their work, trying to promote their work and ideologies among the youth of Karachi.

Hoping that you will find this share interesting enough to leave your comments,

Silvatein Episode 6 – Very Interesting

0

So, this episode had so much to offer & so much was going on that I didn’t want it to end. I enjoyed this episode right from where it started & how it ended. All the things were in place & loved to see more of Zeb as well.

The hell broke loose in Natasha’s in-laws when she left for her parent’s place without notifying anyone. She is lucky to have found such a family who cares for her a lot & loved how her MIL was trying to rationalize everything & her behaviour. Natasha’s SIL seems to be a good person but she is very dominating, she wants to know everything that is happening with each & every person of her family. She likes to dictate a lot especially Bilal because he is the youngest one among these siblings. I guess, what Natasha did was wrong plus it’s no way possible that living in a joint family a girl can so easily escape that too on the 2nd day of her marriage.

Zeb, on the other hand was dealing with that aggressive teenager. The condition of his house wasn’t appeasing one that’s why he tried to commit suicide  I loved how Zeb started talking to him on his level, just like a teenage girl who is surrounded by many problems but the biggest one of her problems is her sister. While she was saying all that, I could understand that no matter how hard she tries to convince herself that she doesn’t bother about Natasha but deep down she feels exactly the opposite. She confessed being rude to her younger sister & how she felt bad. Zeb has a very nice character, I must say this again. She could’ve yapped all day long if the guy hadn’t stopped her. It was funny.

Natasha was depressed & was thinking over & over again about Yawar, she even proposed the idea of coming back to him but she once again proved lucky that the guy, Yawar was very decent. He could’ve easily blackmailed her or anything considering how he lives next door but poor guy thought it was his fault that Natasha got married & let her go easily. I really felt bad for Yawar actually.

Natasha was about to utter the dangerous to her Pupho but Zeb intervened at the right time. I loved her explanation & how she tried to talk Natasha out of the idea of leaving Bilal. & this is exactly what Natasha wanted. She always likes to follow what others tell her because she is too lazy to think for herself even, but then all the way long she complains for not being able to make a choice for herself. It was so easy for Zeb to convince her & that very moment she called Bilal to pick her up. I agreed to Zeb when she mentioned that you liked Bilal because I got his proposal but now when I rejected him you’re rejecting it too. Natasha, for sure has this habit of snatching things away from Zeb, this is what Zeb spoke to that young kid about as well. Finally, the truth was revealed easily by Natasha may be because she wanted out from this marriage, that’s why she threw the Zeb-phone-call card on Bilal.

Bilal, Munize & their elder brother’s conversation was once again very well done. I loved how Munize was trying to dig deeper into the situation but a bit too negatively whereas the eldest brother tried to calm the situation down & tried to talk about how Natasha would be feeling. I liked the relation these three share with each-other & they compliment each other a lot. Natasha on her own had packed her bags & was about to leave (which once again is something not possible in a joint family). The way Bilal tried to make her understand her importance & the way he confessed his love towards her was really sweet. I absolutely adored Bilal for saying all such things because he is a nice person.

The funniest scene today was that of Pupho & Mikaal. Pupho very easy escaped from Zeb & said what she had to say to Mikaal. Mikaal got all hesitant & left & then Zeb took situation in her hands. Even though Zeb has been extra sweet with her Pupho & everyone else in her family & relatives but when the time comes she knows how to scream on top of her voice especially when she gets into awkward situations because of others. I loved Pupho’s acting, who was trying to tell that what she did was totally right but was regretful because of Zeb’s reaction towards it. LOL! I find myself laughing at her acting in particular. However, Zeb later apologizes to Mikaal but he easily says he has already spoken to his mother about Zeb. I am sure, this would be the last thing Zeb must’ve been expecting.

I can’t wait to see more of this drama. It started strong but the tangled situation of confusions was ticking me off. Now it has clarified smoothly & I am loving it. All the actors have done a marvellous job & each fits into the character perfectly. Can’t wait to see how Zeb’s life will unfold but now I do not want her to get hooked to Natasha’s brother-in-law because it will make things go wrong again, two sisters in one home would not be something I would want to see.

Zindagi Gulzar Hai Episode 16 – Zaroon Ke Sitaray Gurdish Mei Hein!!

Yes I totally agree with the notion ke Zaroon Junaid ke sitaray gurdish mei hai!! Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed were super today and the dialogues were just mind blowing, they depicted perfectly Kashaf and Zaroon’s state of mind. I enjoyed watching Kashaf fuming with anger and the way Zaroon could not muster up the courage to answer her call. So many dialogues made me laugh, the wit, hidden humor and not to mention the irony in them was beyond brilliant. Honestly speaking there is so much I want to talk about that I am not sure where to start from!

What a relief it was to see that Zaroon Junaid has his mind all made up and all the confusion is gone. He understands that changing how Kashaf feels about him will be a daunting task but at the same time he fails to understand why Kashaf dislikes him so much! Zaroon also wonders why he lets Kashaf walk all over him but even a fool can see that he is madly in love with the girl he could not even stand in the University and the biggest problem is getting through to her because she just won’t listen. The way Zaroon begged Sir Ibrar to convince Kashaf and the manner in which Sir Ibrar reacted was too cute for words. Zaroon Junaid wants Kashaf in his life; he does not care what his mother thinks about Kashaf’s family background and even the way Kashaf feels about him makes no difference to him…he is madly in love with this girl and will do anything to have her in his life. I have to say that after a long time I liked Zaroon today because he really did look like a changed man who does not look at things the way he used to. He even admits that he has been wrong in the past and is willing to do anything to make up for it.

episode 16ZaronZaroon1

Kashaf vows ke vo Zaroon ka dimagh thikanay laga kur hi rahe gi and proved that she really was quite capable of doing so. The only problem is that Zaroon is not playing any games now so there is nothing to fix there! I don’t blame Kashaf at all for feeling the way she does, she obviously still remembers what Zaroon said about her in the library and the fact that Zaroon and Asmara’s engagement did not work out does not help too! How brilliant was Sidrah today, simply loved the role she played today and the way Zaroon reacted to Sidra’s cool and calm manner was spot on too!! It was almost like he was thinking “wow there are “normal” girls in Kashaf’s house too, not all of them bite!!” Mansha Pasha is an absolute delight to watch every time. Kashaf won’t marry Zaroon even if he was the last man on earth…I think I have heard that line before many many years back!

kashaf Sir Ibrar

The mazboot waja that Kashaf gave for refusing to marry Zaroon was the exact opposite of the reason Zaroon gave for wanting to marry her…how ironic!! What will Zaroon have to do to prove to Kashaf that he is not so characterless afterall? After Sir Ibrar’s conversation with Kashaf, it didn’t come as a surprise when he was apprehensive to talk to her again. I did feel though that Kashaf was being a little too rude with Sir Ibrar given that he was her teacher, is her mentor and also someone she respects a lot…but then that is Kashaf for you. Kashaf is not willing to believe that Zaroon could actually be in love with her and finds it odd that both the proposals came one after another…she thinks it is plotting and planning just like the college days.

Kashaf sidrah

How wonderful, enjoyable and well executed was the scene where Zaroon calls everyone in his family one by one only because he is a total nervous wreck. Totally enjoyed that scene and the expression of relief on his face when Sidra picked up the phone and was willing to talk to him nicely too!!!

Coming to Murtaza, well he is surely trying his best to play the dad probably for the first time and guess what Nigar is helping! I was astonished to see that he actually thinks he gets to decide who gets married when.

When Kashaf asks herself while writing her diary that who her ideal really was or what he would be like…I thought finally, finally she was questioning herself about the whole marriage issue, thinking about what her ideal would be like.

Today’s episode was simply brilliant; everyone played their part beautifully. Please share your favorite scenes and dialogues from today’s episode.

HUM TV Awards – An Inside Story.

0

Well, here’s the status update of Ali Gul Pir’s manager, who happens to be spreading the word about what happened with Ali Gul Pir & his team at the award’s night. All I know is that from the past few months I have read a million posts related to “Saeen & Saeen ka stuff” but just because I am not connected to Pakistani channels 24/7, I had no idea who the mastermind was behind this concept? I went through this Facebook post & searched about this person & it was amazing to know that he is a person who has produced such songs which have hit a million views on YouTube within the first few days of publishing.

Clearly, not everyone in this industry earns a name & fame on a decorated platter & have to work hard. Some people are only left with a bad taste in their mouth because of the recognition that authorities fail to give to such people in particular. It’s just a matter of your on-screen presence & about what actually sells, that’s it. Deviating away from the topic of the post, I’d like to mention that we see so many dramas go unnoticed & fail to get the acknowledgement they deserve, same is the case with these artists as well. Fit yourself according to their standards & it pays off but if anyone does something on their own, they do not get praised & are blatantly ignored.

So here’s the inside story, updated as a status from the Ali Gul Pir’s team:

“Unprofessionalism at the HUM TV awards!!!!

What happened at the 1st first Hum Tv awards last night was not a show of grandeur or splendor but the display of utmost unprofessionalism and irresponsiblility by the one of the biggest networks of Pakistan. My friend/artist Ali Gul Pir was nominated for “Best new sensation-music” category and had been called a dozen times to confirm his presence at the ceremony. Despite suffering from an acute stomach infection he and his team went to the Hum TV awards only to realize that the organizers have skipped the category. What was funnier was that they didn’t even “realize” that they had skipped the category untill I personally went back backstage .Maimoona Siddiqi the GM programming HUM TV along with a very senior producer Ather Waqar Azeem was busy noticing the perfection of Fahad Mustafa’s “thumkas” on an LCD. Without causing a lot of commotion I had barely introduced my self as Ali Gul Pir’ manager when she said “Sorry, Beta youre too late”. Perhaps she knew why I was there as she humbly silenced my inquiry into ignorance, I waited. When I thought I had been as professional as on could be when on the recieveing end of himiliation I finally said “Agar aap logon ko yahi karna tha,tau aap bulatay hee nahin, he is not feeling and has been waiting for more then three hours now” and she replied ” haan theek hai theek hai..I can’t help its been skipped”. I was not worried that Ali didn’t win a award or couldnt give an acceptance speech or something because for someone whose video has been watched almost 5million times within 5 months of release, no trophy was worth it. I was dissaopinted that Ali came to the awards because he respected their courtesy to call him at such an occasion but left right after my talk with Maimoona because respect, professionalism and courtesy becomes insignificant for the organizers as soon as their seats are filled. If these are the people who run the show of our entertainment industry and this is the way to behave then we are glad that we left the occasion and will make sure we don’t commit this mistake again. After suffering through their unpressionalsim I was reminded of the way we used to rehearse for the ZAB FILM FEST at my university. We as students displayed more maturity and professionalism as comepared to such a big network. Not once in the two festivals we organized was there something as disrespectful or unprofessional.
There is also another moment of relaization for all of the young artistses like us out there;new comers are not respected in this industry , make a mark for yourself as Ali did and don’t expect the industry to support you but expect it from the your viewers and fans, people who accepted and recognized you as you were. We still owe them a lot.

Please spread the word around!!!!
Via Rafay Mahmood”

Have your say on it folks.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,

Hum TV Awards Winners – Expectations Fulfiled?

0

Hum TV awards were the most hyped event of the season but did the winners fit into our expectations? The event was grand and it had all the elements to impress the viewers. I am looking forward to see it on TV. Hum TV left no stone unturned to make the awards as splendid as possible, and you can see this by just looking at the pictures. Noor Ul Hasan was seen taking interviews of Celebs on the Red Carpet while Mahira Khan and Mikaal Zulfiqar were seen hosting the awards.

Many people were disappointed with the nominations when they were announced. But now the question is, did all the winners rightfully deserve the awards? I must say, I was shocked and a bit disappointed with a few winners. But, there were others that completely fit into my expectations. I will start with the awards that I felt were rightfully deserved:

The award for Best Model Male and Female were rightfully deserved by Ayyan Ali and Abbas Jaffri. Both of them are the current top rated models. Even the awards for Best Menswear and Best Women Wear were well deserved by Nomi Ansari and Deepak Parwani. These two are one of the biggest names of the fashion industry.

Now coming to the awards for the Television Dramas, Imran Aslam won the Best Actor Daily Soap Award and I think he truly deserved it. Imran Aslam is an underrated actor and now he is finally being appreciated for his talent. Another award I am very satisfied with is the Best Actor and Actress in a Supporting Role. Mohib Mirza did a very god job in Shehr e Zaat and he deserved the award. I am also really glad that Samina Peerzada won the award! I do not think anyone deserved it more than her. She got it for Roshan Sitara but I personally wanted her to get it for Shehr e Zaat. Her character was beautiful in that show and will always remain in my memory. The Award for Best Writer was perfect! There is no one more deserving than Umera Ahmed for this award. Umera Ahmed has given Hum TV some of its top plays like Malaal, Maat, Zindagi Gulzar Hai and Qaid e Tanhai. The award given to Shehryar Munawar and Sohai Abro for the New Television Sensation was again well deserved. These two new comers have won the hearts of the audiences in a very short time. Another award I was extremely happy about was the Best Actor in a Comic Role which went to the very deserving Uroosa Siddiqui. I am a big fan of her as she is a wonderful actress. She sure can make the audiences laugh!

Now moving on to my favorite award of the night! Mahira and Fawad won the Best Onscreen Couple Award that they rightfully deserved. This award was very predictable as Humsafar was not nominated elsewhere. But they made all the Humsafar fans happy by giving Humsafar The Phenominal Series’ Award and it was given to the Humsafar team by Sultana Siddiqui herself. Another Award that was very unpredictable yet truly deserving was the ‘Special Recognition’ Award for Dastaan. I always believed that Dastaan was an underrated show and it definitely deserved this special award. Late Moin Akhtar was awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award presented by none other than Anwar Maqsood to his family. No one else deserved this award more than him. Moin Akhtar will always have a very special place in all our hearts!

Nouman Ijaz as the Best Actor was satisfactory considering the other nominations. His performance in Bari Apa was outstanding! I do not know how to feel about Shehr e Zaat winning the Best Drama Award. It had a neck to neck competition with Yahan Pyaar Nahi Hai and Maat and according to me, all three of these shows deserved the award. Fahad Mustafa winning the Award for the Best Host was quite predictable and I am glad that he won since he was not nominated anywhere else, and he did deserve some recognition.

Now coming to the awards that I was not satisfied with:

Mahira Khan as the Best Actor Female was very shocking indeed! She was good in Shehr e Zaat but she was no match for Saba Qamar in Maat or Yahan Pyaar Nahi Hai. Rumour has it that Saba Qamar is unhappy about not getting the award despite two nominations. She sure deserved it! Mahira Khan herself was very shocked to get this award.
Another shocking award was the Award for Best Director. Farooq Rind got this award for the show Sanjha. Seriously? What about the other directors of the popular shows like Maat, Yahan Pyaar Nahi Hai and Shehr e Zaat. I would have personally liked it if Sarmad Sultan Khoosat had won it for Shehr e Zaat because that show was directed brilliantly. Mere Qatil Mere Dildaar OST as the Best Orignal Song Tune was another shock. Out of all the beautiful OSTs, they chose to give it to this show. Very disappointing indeed!

I was surprised to see that the award for the Best Daily Soap went to Mujhe Roothne Na Dena when Nikhar Gaye Gulab Sare was more popular and deserving. Sumbul Iqbal as the Best Actor Female Soap was also surprising when the other nominations were just as talented.
Now coming to the Music category, Shehzad Roy as the Best Solo Artist was surprising when other nominations included names like Hadiqa Kayani, Falak and Farhan Saeed. I personally think Hadiqa Kiyani was more deserving.

I am really looking forward to watch the awards as it is always interesting to see the reaction of all the winners. I am also looking forward to the performances by different celebrities like Ahsan Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Humaima Malik and Fahad Mustafa!

Mirat-ul-Uroos Episode 18 – What Goes Around Comes Around

0

When Hamnah went out of her way to make Aima feel like a lesser human only because she did not have a grand wedding and her husband wasn’t earning enough to spend on Hamnah’s wedding, she had no clue that very soon she will be facing a very tough time in her own In Laws’ house because of this very reason. Although Hamnah’s parents did everything they could or more in order to pleaser her in laws but it was quite apparent right from the onset that Hamnah’s Husband and his mother were very materialistic. The way Hamnah’s Mother-in-law was being nice to Ayza on the wedding and totally ignored Aima went to show that the woman was very shallow. While Aima is trying very hard to be a good wife and Daughter in law in a very hostile environment, Ayza has everything going for her. Rather than trying to make things easier for her sister, Ayza only wants to make her stay in the house more comfortable by making sure that she lives up to the impression that she has made in her new house. Akbari gives Ayza’s parents a never-ending list of gifts which are to be given to every member of Ayza’s new family as part of the celebrations on the arrival of Ayza and Hammad’s son.

rafia hammad

The post wedding discussion that took place right after Hamnah’s marriage was very relatable. Everyone shared how they felt about Hamnah’s In Laws and the conversation ended with Ayza’s “expert opinion”. Hashim’s attitude towards Aima today was beyond wrong and he really is turning out to be one of those people who cannot take responsibility for their own actions. I was surprised though that Aima did not see that coming because even before marriage Hashim was very careless.  I know many girls and boys though who know their fiancés or their spouse to be before marriage and think that all of the faults in them will magically go away once they get married. I think what is happening to Aima should serve as a good lesson for many girls out there who think that a man will change after marriage. I really like Aima’s character and feel for her too but it is partially her mistake too, she should not have expected Hashim to turn into a very responsible person solely because they were getting married. Hashim did nothing more than blame Aima for his troubles and treated her like a punching bag today. I really liked Aima’s discussion with Daddi, it is so good to know that there is someone in the house who understands her and with whom she can share things. I found it rather odd when Hashim and Aima were arguing with each other at the top of their voices…that is obviously something that is not possible in a joint family!

Rafia has such a soft heart when it comes to her own daughter but she does not stop to think for a second the effect her stone hearted attitude must be having on Aima. Even when Askari tries to make her realize that she was wrong in holding Aima responsible and for treating Hahsim and Aima as outsiders, she was not convinced at all.

hashim aima

Ayza’s advice to Hammad that he should not share the news about his new job with his parents went to show just how selfish Ayza is. I am waiting to see just how far this attitude of hers will take her because it is so wrong. The episode ended with Hamnah coming back to her parents, yet another car issue that needs to be resolved. Hamnah’s problems will serve as an eye opener for her family members and they will realize what parents go though when In laws demand such things from girls’ parents.

I am really looking forward to the next installment especially due to the scene between Hashim and Hamza….This drama definitely teaches young people out there some very valuable lessons if someone is paying attention. This episode was directed very well; in fact I think it was the best one so far as far as direction is concerned. All the scenes were short and to the point and there was no repetition whatsoever. Definitely looking forward to more.

Hum TV Awards Ceremony Pictures- Unofficially leaked!

0

The most awaited ceremony is now all over leaving the audience with a hope to watch the awards soon on the channel. As discussed yesterday, The Hum TV Awards ceremony which was held two days back in Karachi Expo Centre, is one of the most memorable nights for the celebrities who won an award for their performance in the year 2012, been affiliated with the HUM Network. It was though the last post I shared yesterday that I realized how the audience has taken this award ceremony, finding it a  bias one where the nominations are found unsatisfactory by majority of the people. It was also seen that people are really talking about the fact that Fawad Khan was not even nominated as the best actor and Humsafar wasn’t there in the list when it came to the best drama of the year.

However, as expected, the viewers want to know more about the ceremony and here we are, sharing the most interesting pictures of celebrities from the event.

Kahi Unkahi Episode 19 – Sherry In Action!

0

So today’s episode was once again engaging & revolved around Sherry & his awakening. I enjoy how they are winding up the drama & the pace has improved a lot more, plus there were no flaws as such & was a treat to watch.

Seema finally realized that she was gaining nothing by asking for Ansar’s hand rather she was spoiling a life of an innocent girl Mariam who was ready to do anything for her marriage & her family. Seema said she was going back to Hyderabad, which shed a light on another demon of the society & that’s how girls from small towns & cities come to the metropolitans & then try to match with the crowd there & for that they need money & to earn that money they use such tactics like getting involved with those guys who are not in a mood for a serious relationship. It’s sad & watching the character of Seema really made me cringe all the time because of what was being portrayed through her character. I guess Ansar walked really clean past this mess & I would’ve liked if he had suffered a bit just to compensate the pain he has caused to Sherry & in particular Zoya. Mariam came like a savior & swooped in at the right time. Seema, who, at first seemed all agitated calmed down just in a few seconds.

The best scene again was that of Sherry barging into Anam’s home & insulting her in front of her useless brother & arrogant mother. Anam lost it & deserved it well. Poor thing didn’t see it coming & was all happy that Sherry missed the flight. I actually like the character of Sherry a lot because at times he is seen really fragile & innocent but when the moment arises he does know how to take a stand irrespective of who he is dealing with. Sherry had the guts to look into his father’s eyes & give him a piece of his mind.

Mariam gained respect in Ansar’s eyes & it’s good to see her getting the attention & love that she deserves. Zeeshan tried to use Seema against Ansar but that thing backfired on him once again because he was a bit too slow in his action. Mariam beat him & got hold of the situation just in the nick of time. Mrs. Pervaiz was all furious because of how Sherry insulted Anam. I guess being in that age & having the experience she should’ve seen it coming that Anam was going to face something major in her life because how she had spoiled her child.

I, once again, was reminded of the old Bollywood Classic ‘Meinne Pyaar Kiya’ when Mr. Kamal said he will return within 4 days because he is used to the airconditioned cars & all the luxuries. It was a scene which we all can remember well from Salman Khan’s movie. Sherry, just like Salman Khan declared leaving the house & Mr. Kamal, just like Salman Khan’s father threatened to disown his son. It was so good to see how Sherry openly acclaimed that he will get married to Zoya. Can’t wait for it to happen as well.

Zoya, on the other hand, was still disturbed & wasn’t happy because of her relatives. They have been mean to her father through out their lives & she wants to maintain a safe distance from them too. The preview of next episode promises a bit more drama because Zoya’s relatives aren’t as good as they are posing in front of her father. I hope Sherry comes ASAP & rescues her from their evil plans.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Indian Dramas on Pakistan’s Local Channels-Why to ban Indian Channels then?

0

We live in a country with double standards especially when it comes to choosing in between what is right and what is not. Whether it be regarding fashion, latest trend, entertainment or politics, our rules somewhat very different for ourselves as compared to the ideologies we generally talk about. Relating this major drawback of the nation with the entertainment industry of ours, all I have to share today are my views about the diplomacy of our local channels and the confused state of the viewers who are not even thinking once that where our culture and tradition is actually heading.

nidaaa

Throughout my experience while writing over the entertainment industry of Pakistan, I have realized that the audience seems reasonably satisfied with the local content and much of the readers on different forums have been found saying that they love Pakistani Dramas and find them much better than the foreign content- fair enough! While the viewers are happy with what their country is producing for them, It sounds like a wonder that the private channels are actually airing the foreign dramas in their prime time without even talking about the reason for doing so.

It was also analyzed few months back that there is still a minority which looks forward to the Turkish shows and want to have more from the stated country, which again, might be because of the similarities that the two countries share on the basis of religion (and nothing else). Not going in much of the details that what made these Turkish dramas popular amongst the Pakistanis, I would only target the INDIAN DRAMAS that  are going on air on different channels.

Why to block Indian Channels?

The heading reveals my point fairly well. There was literally a time when I and my family, just like many of you, used to follow Star Plus and SONY TV, watching ‘The super BALAJI SHOWS’ like crackpots. Hate them or love them, Pakistan had a huge audience following those melo-dramatic serials but it was only then the channels were blocked by PEMRA and we saw the officials condemning the broadcast of Indian Channels in the country, declaring them as a threat to the integrity and culture of Pakistan.

Amazingly, now that the audience has converge its interests from the Indian stories to the Local content, the private, renowned channels are now airing the same, I repeat, the same Indian shows through their platform.

Here is a small list of Indian Dramas that are been aired on our Local channels which are established by Muslim Pakistanis, run by them and are paying back to them only!

GEO TV

1)Qubool Hai  (21:00)

images

The drama is been watched by the fans of Karan Grover, the  Arman Malik of Dil Mil Gaye and is contributing in earning some TRPs for the channel.

2) Bade Achhe Lagte Hain    (22:00)

images (1)

The Parvati is back, not on star Plus or SONY, but on Geo, wonders happen, and happen in this country only!

3)Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke (22:30)

images (2)

Honestly speaking, I haven’t followed this one but still, its existence on a Pakistani Platform is enough to pinch.

Express entertainment

1)      Haseena Chalbaaz

2)      Anamika

3)      Hitler di-di

4)      Na boly tum na maine kuch kaha

 expressss

All these dramas that are aired on Express entertainment are scheduled for primetimes, thus, you can imagine how important and close they are to the hearts of the owners of the channel.

What’s the confusion?

This country can be well defined in a single word, and that is ‘CONFUSED’. We are all confused about everything; cherry on the top, we are given a free-hand too by the authorities to like, do, wish, Kill, watch, eat, drink, vote anything and anyone, no one actually bothers. The question here is that how can people watch these dramas when they fake round, saying they love the local content? It is obvious that the channels are continuing the telecast because they are earning with, people are watching them. And if the people want to see the Indian dramas then why are Indian channels banned?

What kind of a strategy are they following basically? Where is PEMRA now and why those officials are satisfied with the same ideologies been promoted by these serials? Who to question? Who will answer? Just like other matters, we, the audience again find no one owing the responsibility!

Please share your views about the matter,

Kaash Aisa Ho Episode 7- A Storm On Its Way!

0

One thing I really admire about this show is the dialogues. They are so deep and intense and full of meaning that audiences get lost in the beauty of it. This is one of the reasons why I started liking this show. Maha Malik always writes the most beautiful dialogues and she did not disappoint us this time either. Dialogues can only impact the viewers if the actor delivers it with the right amount of intensity and feeling and Mohib Mirza and Saba Qamar have done an excellent job. I always look forward to the intense conversations between Irfa and Shayan. They keep me hooked to every single line spoken by them.

Now coming to the episode, we saw Shayan getting affected by all the words said by Maleeha. He is ashamed to introduce Irfa as his wife as she is not up to his standard in terms of outer beauty which means a lot to him. This is the reason why he hides that he is married from Maleeha. He dodges all the questions about his family but Maleeha does not give up and ends up on his doorstep. She then gets to know that he has a wife and Irfa gets to know that he is hiding his married status from people. This managed to hurt Irfa a lot and when she complains to Shayan, he gets angry on her. And like always, Irfa goes to him to patch things up. I actually felt bad for her when she dreams that Shayan apologizes to her and patch up in the sweetest way. I wish he would just value Irfa and all the things she does for him!

Irfa has the biggest dreams for Shayan’s future and I am sure she would be the catalyst to his success. She is seen the happiest when Shayan’s paintings gets sold with his own signature. But all Shayan cares about is her looks, not her heart. He keeps on telling her to dress nicely and take care of herself. He wants to feel proud of his choice and not ashamed of it. He always hurts Irfa by taunting her about her looks and does not even realize it and Irfa forgives him for his rude words every single time. She just cannot stay upset with him!

Adeel Farooqui is definitely up to something. He managed to convince Shayan to teach Maleeha how to paint and sketch. Maleeha is seen interested in someone after a long time and he thinks if Shayan befriends her, she will come out of her shell and interact with the world around her. Maleeha is getting more and more attached to Shayan with each passing day and reacts violently when she gets to know that he lied to her about not being married. He blurts out that he agreed to teach her because of her father’s request when he told him about her mental state. This managed to upset Maleeha a lot. She feels cheated and betrayed by Shayan. She gets all worked up at the smallest things!

Shayan pretends that he does not care about Maleeha’s opinions but he is deeply affected by them. He cares what she thinks about him. I wonder why? Is it because he has started to like her? When she comments about his house, he decides to shift immediately. When she says that he and Irfa are a mismatch, he taunts Irfa about her looks. Irfa cannot help but feel jealous after seeing both of them together but Shayan does not care about her feelings. Instead he asked her to change her orthodox views and look at the world from a new perspective.

Overall, it was a good episode. Its pace has become steady now but I hope the show does not drag as it will lose its charm. Maleeha is the storm in Irfa’s life which will destroy her house and her dreams. I am eager to know what happens next!

Keep watching the show guys!

Aik Nayee Cinderella – Last Episode!

Aik Nayee Cinderella was a great watch. It was a show which always managed to bring a smile on my face. It was a refreshing show with a different concept. Maya Ali as Meesha was simply wonderful. Meesha’s cute antics were always a treat to watch. Maya was perfect for the role and had given a great performance for a new actor. Faizan Khwaja was the highlight of the show for me. I had not seen him as a lead in any other show and I did not expect much from him but he has surprised me with his superb acting skills. I always looked forward to all the scenes between Meesha and Roman as they both had an amazing chemistry. Sadly, I was a bit disappointed by Osman Khalid Butt’s acting skills. Since he is a theatre actor, I had a lot of expectations from him but he failed to live up to them. He really needs to work on his expressions and dialogue delivery. Haissam Hussain has shown his magic again after Dastaan. His direction was beyond excellent. He gave life and soul to Faiza Iftikhar’s script. And lastly, the beautiful places the show was shot at managed to glorify the beauty of all the scenes in the show. The costumes, makeup, and the setup all gave a fairytale look to the show.

Roman and Meesha finally got back together. I loved all their scenes in this episode. Roman finally got to know the reason why Meesha was so angry all this time and cleared things up. They took their sweet time to clear their misunderstandings! Roman manages to convince Meesha to go along with Shah Baba’s plan and agree to marry Farjad. She finally agrees as she trusts Roman now. She did not want to run away and hide from Shah Baba. Meesha’s confession to Roman about her feelings was the best scene of the episode! Meesha innocently told him that she likes him and in reply she got a smile from Roman and he also told her that he knew this from a long time.

aik collage

Mayer also tried to emotionally blackmail Meesha to agree to the marriage. He only managed to disgust me! He only cared about what will happen to him if Shah Baba locks him in the prison. Meesha finally saw Mayer’s true face and told him that she never loved him and she never will either! Way to go Meesha! She also requested Shah Baba to let Mayer leave Shahabad. She pitied him and gave his escape as a gift to him. The Prince Charming turned out to be the biggest disappointment and the pauper was actually the true Prince. How ironic! What shines may not always turn out to be gold!

I must say, I was very disappointed with the ending. I expected some power packed ending but the episode ended on a very vague note. Farjad finally managed to stop Shah Baba from getting married to Meesha. He took all his power away from him and left him helpless. But what happened after this? What happened to Meesha and Roman? I wanted to see them living together happily. What happened to Dado, Zaini and Meher? I would have loved to see some scenes between Farjad and Aimee. I really wanted to see a proper ending. They dragged the show so much but could not give a good ending to satisfy the audiences. I am sure many of you will agree with me.

Overall, this show had the perfect ingredients to impress the audiences. It had a good cast, a superb director, a brilliant writer, beautiful locations and last but not the least a good OST. It had suspense, drama, entertainment as well as comedy. I am really going to miss this show! I hope we get to see more shows in the future with such refreshing concepts.

The Lawn Fever!!

0

Summers are here and for the next six months or so all we will be wearing would be lawn…the fabric we all love, it is cool and comes in many styles and prints. For the past few years the lawn fever has completely gripped the female population and the competition between the different designers and even the wanna-be designer lawns is getting tougher by the day. Lawn is no longer just any fabric that you wear to feel cooler and more comfortable in the heat of summer but it is more of a fashion statement now. Printed lawn suits are just as expensive as silks and chiffons – the formal wear clothes which we once used to wear only for special occasions or on formal functions. The trend started with only a couple of designers stepping in to design prints for the brands that have existed for so many years now like Gul Ahmed and Alkaram. Gradually the designers figured out that this could prove to be a very lucrative business and now there are more than ten top designers who are taking a very active part in this competition.

Firdous

Every year women wait impatiently for these designer lawns to surface in the outlets and when they are finally launched women run to the outlets as early as possible and even on the first day the suits sell like hot dogs. The passion with which the women go to shop for these fabrics is unmatched; you will never see such enthusiasm for winter clothes. One of the reasons also is that most women want to grab that very first prints and designs that come out because they are very often not repeated and that gives them the opportunity to flaunt for the rest of the season that they have the print that very few people have. There have even been incidents when women actually got into physical fights in order to get a certain print because there were only one or two suits left and there were too many women who wanted it! Talk about too many women chasing after too few lawn prints!

Khaadi

The competition does not end here, lately there is also the competition between the designers as to who manages to bag the best model and many of them had to “import” models from across the border in order to stand out. This time around some of the designers have also hired British models and the latest trend is that Indian designers have also designed some of the prints.

crescent

Are you one of those women who must be at the launch of every new designer Lawn? I know women whose main focus is attending all these launches all through the summer season- something interesting to keep them busy. Collecting the catalogues and of course the most rare prints is another very common “hobby” in summers. No wonder the prices are sky high, which is actually sad too because than most of the people cannot afford to buy the fabric that is worn the most in summers.

Ayesha Ahmed.

Dil-e-Muztar Episode 3 – A New Phase

0

This show is getting better by each passing episode. It has created thousands of fans in mere weeks because of the gripping story and superb acting. We got to see the aftermath of the marriage in this episode and the loss of a wonderful character. Adeel’s mother passed away in this episode on the very next day of her son’s wedding. The scene where Adeel gets tea for his mother and realizes that she is no more was the most heart breaking scene of the episode! Imran Abbas was absolutely superb in this scene. Watching Adeel cry gave me goosebumps!

Adeel’s extremely dislikes Silah at this point and his rude treatment with her clearly reflected it. He still holds a huge grudge against her for forcing him into this unwanted relationship. He is right in his place too. Everybody should get the right to choose their life partner. Nobody paid any heed to his opinion or his choice and he was emotionally blackmailed by his mother into this marriage. He thinks of Silah as a spoiled rich girl who turned out to be extremely selfish. He keeps on taunting her that she got what she wanted and her wish came true as the things turned out just the way she wanted. All his anger on his Chacha and Chachi has also been diverted to Silah and she has turned into a punching bag for him. He leaves no chance to humiliate or taunt her. At his point, I can understand him because his self respect has been bruised by the accusations Silah’s parents had made on him and his mother. He just could not stand anyone disrespecting his mother in anyway. He has also lost the only person who was the most important figure in his life. It will take time but his attitude will slowly improve.

collage 2

I felt extremely bad for Silah in this episode. Her only fault here is that she loved Adeel and wanted to marry him at any cost. She became selfish for a bit and managed to hurt both her parents and Adeel. She is trying her best to be patient and make Adeel happy. She is ready to adjust with him in all kinds of situations. She has always led a very comfortable life but did not say a word when Adeel brought her to their new house whose disheveled state shocked her. She worked the whole day to clean the house and make it worth living and in return she expected a good word from Adeel. But he ignored her efforts and instead starting taunting her! She is trying her best to win his approval but is failing miserably. Adeel went so far as to ask her if she wants to end their relationship! I am pretty sure that Silah will win Adeel’s heart very soon. I hope his cold attitude towards her improves in the next episode.

Safeena and Zamaan leave no chance to humiliate Adeel and his mother. Even after his mother’s death, they were seen bad mouthing them. They still think that it was their plan to trap their daughter and get money out of them. Adeel and Silah leave the house despite Zamaan and Safeena’s disapproval but Silah chooses Adeel over her parents and leaves them heartbroken. They know that Adeel will never be able to give her a comfortable life and warned her not to come back to them when she cannot endure her new life style, as living with Adeel was her choice. One can never be happy after hurting your own parents and that is an established fact.

There were also a few scenes in the episode which managed to bring a smile on my face. The scene where Silah comes back running in the room when she hears sounds outside and complain to Adeel was the best scene of the episode for me! Silah gave the cutest expressions when she innocently asked Adeel if she can sleep inside. Another scene which I found extremely cute was when Silah brought tea for Adeel and he asked her what it was and she said ‘Chai’ with the most innocent expression on her face!

Now coming to the show stealer of this episode! It is hard to choose between Imran and Sanam as both have performed brilliantly in this episode but Imran got an upper hand because of the extremely moving scene in which he cried. Usually male actors are very bad at crying but Imran did a very good job! He managed to beat Sanam just by a small notch!

The preview for the next episode seems very interesting and I am eagerly waiting for its next episode. What will happen to Silah’s father? Will Adeel’s attitude towards Silah finally improve?

Keep watching to find out!

‘Humsafar’ to air on Indian Channel ‘Rishtay’- Public delighted!

0

Every era has its own gem and this one, for sure has ‘Humsafar’ to make itself proud even after decades. Just like we adore ‘Dhoop Kinare’ or ‘Tanhaiyaan’ still, Humsafar  is one of the similar  serials which would be remembered after 50 years from now onwards. These days when the Pakistani showbiz industry is all over loaded with the foreign content, there were people who complained  of the fact that if there is no harm in airing foreign dramas then the Pakistani dramas too, should be aired on channels of countries like Turkey, India and Iran.

It is surprising to find that its Humsafar which is going to be on-air on an Indian channel ‘Rishtay’ evey weekend, that is, every Saturday and Sunday at 8:30 pm. If you notice, this is the same time when it used to be seen in Pakistan, every Saturday, 8pm and the difference of time in between the two countries is half  an hour to be accurate.

humsafar

The news is amazing but not shocking because already it was known that Humsafar had its fans all over the world and Fawad Khan and Mahira are frequently discussed on India-forums (The largest discussion forum of India) where Fawad was also wished on his Birthday. No doubts about the quality of the serial in every sense and it well deserves to earn respect and recognition of this level.

The local audience is over joyed with the news as it has been taken as a symbol of respect that even the Pakistani dramas are no more less than any other drama and in fact, Pakistan has all the potential in every field to meet up the race of the world.

We are delighted with the news, How about you? Share your valuable views,

Once again, Humsafar, we are proud of you <3

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to record songs for Bollywood in Dubai ONLY!

0

Despite of the fact that Pakistani singers are doing a great job in India, it can be easily seen that our singers are still not given the deserving fame and respect in the country. While  Adnan Sami khan is  still not allowed to buy a home in Dehli, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is also on of those singers who  are suffering despite of their endless services in the field of singing.

According to the latest reveals, it has been heard that the Pakistani Singers are unable to record their songs for the movies and projects in India and the issue is creating a serious problem for the singers and the composers who  have either paid or booked them for their movies and tracks. It was also seen that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan landed up with a controversy of smuggling dollars and soon after that it was  noticed that most of the songs are been dubbed in Dubai only.  Recently,Sajid and Wajid  recorded with him in Dubai.

images (2)

It is no less than a disrespect of the Pakistani Singers who are  recording their songs on Skype or via internet because they are either not getting the visa or are experiencing limitations unjustified.

Although they are paid pretty well for a single project in India, our singers need to maintain their respect and importance in the world of music and should take  a stand against such limitations. Share your views about it!

Daagh Episode 19 and 20 – A Huge Loss!

0

The last two weeks had been pretty slow as the story is not progressing. It is pretty much stagnant at this point. Deeba is becoming more demanding day by day and Murad fulfils all her wishes to keep her happy as she is the mother of his ‘sons’. She emotionally blackmails him and he gives in to her demands. He even fulfilled her demand of not bringing Umama back to the house. Murad went to Umama’s house when her father requested him to come but her father soon realized that Murad has no intention to take Umama and her daughters back to his house. This shattered all hopes that Umama had from Murad and she even refused to take his financial help. I absolutely loved the scene when she hands his money back to him and tells him on his face that if you cannot give us shelter, we do not want your money either. Way to go Umama!

Umama has finally decided to move on with her life. She had started studying again and is trying to find a job to support her daughter’s education. Both her father and her sister had been very supporting in all her decisions. And I simply loved the bonding between Umama and her father. He is trying to make up to her for his cold behavior towards her all her life. He even handed over the papers of the house to her to provide her security for the future. But the bonding between them was short lived as he soon passed away. It was heart breaking to see Umama in such a bad condition after her father’s death. Meher Bano has given a very good performance once again. What shocked me was that Murad did not feel an ounce of pity for her and was in no mood to go and sympathize with her on such an occasion. Rehana had to actually force him to go with her to Umama’s house. He still feels insulted because of the way Umama refused the money and treated him. But what about all the insults she had faced so far Murad?

Deeba had crossed all her limits this time! She had the audacity to ask Murad to divorce Umama. I was extremely satisfied to see the way Murad reacted when Deeba told him to give Umama a divorce. He almost raised his hand on Deeba and warned her not to say anything like this again. For a minute I thought he would actually agree to this. Even Aqeela got really angry when her sister and Deeba told her the same thing. Deeba left the house after seeing Murad’s reaction but soon came back when she realized that Murad may go back to Umama.

Murad’s inner turmoil is upsetting him. On one hand, he regrets what he had done to Umama and the kids and on the other hand, his ego refuses to bend. He has also started to miss his daughters a lot and seeing their cold behavior towards him managed to upset him. Well, what else can he expect from them? He rejected them and refused to bring them back to the house. They saw his rude behavior with them and their mother too and have no respect left for him anymore. Rehana was able to talk some sense into him and he is slowly realizing his faults. Will he finally get Umama back to the house?

Aqeela and Rehana both know now that Murad lied to them. He never went to take Umama back but instead went and told her that he cannot take her back to the house. Rehana and Aqeela both feel guilty and helpless as they cannot do anything for Umama. Rehana genuinely wants Umama to get all her rights back but Aqeela has her own selfish reasons for bringing her back to the house. Rehana is the only sensible and mature person in the house. She is one of my favorite characters in this show. Yusra Rizvi has done a wonderful job as Rehana. Fahad Mustafa and Sana Askari have also performed brilliantly yet again!

I really want to see what happens next. Will Umama go back if Murad comes to take her back or will she start her new life just the way she had planned? It will be interesting to watch what happens next.
Keep watching!

Silvatein – Episode 5

0

Ohkay so this whole episode revolved around Natasha. Her wedding, her expectations, her complaints, her mood swings.

The wedding was wrapped up quickly so as to shed more light on the post-marriage issues. Natasha, the moment her day started was not at all happy with how her wedding was coming along. She disliked being getting ready at home & hated that the venue of her wedding was the garden of her own house with a simple menu for the guests. It’s ok, being a bride one does expect a lot & want their wedding to be perfect but what’s the point of nagging about the things which can not be changed?

Natasha was acting all mean & rude. She had no courtest for her wheelchair ridden MIL who was happy for her son’s wedding. Natasha made a fuss about all the things & the funniest scene was the Skype session where every family member was in sync with the jokes they cracked but Natasha was like a fish out of water. Her nagging on tiny bit things totally showed what sort of a spoiled brat she is. Which bride does not know that there are going to be some norms & customs which each & every family celebrates once the new bride steps in their homes? Every bride knows that the wedding day is going to be a long one but Natasha expected that Bilal should have bid good bye to everyone & should’ve spent time with her which was impossible. Actually, she wasn’t happy about Bilal & his job, that’s why she was nitpicking on the smallest details too.

She came out to be as a person who just doesn’t like anything good happening to her as well. First she was jealous of Zeb for getting the proposal of Bilal but when she grabbed it by luck, she got over it ASAP. The way she ran back to her parents & started backbiting about Bilal showed she is one of those lasses who create the mishaps for themselves with their own hands. Her wedding was anything but that which she expressed & felt about it.

Zeb, on her own was dealing with her wedding properly. She was seen quite indulged in all the things that were happening around. Her mother’s discussion with Zeb after the rukhsati was quite overwhelming. She was just sitting there helpless like any other parent who’d feel the same sense of sadness once their daughter leaves their home for good. She was sympathizing with Natasha for no good reason because she didn’t know Natasha is trying to come back to that house once again.

I really am unable to understand what the character of Natasha actually wants out of her life? Does she has some sort of a disease of restlessness or she hates being happy? Let’s see how Zeb’s life would unfold. Another thing that came as a surprise was that Bilal’s elder brother is married however I thought he would be in pair with Zeb, may be the story will turn out to be like it.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,

Zindagi Gulzar Hai Episode 15 – Entertaining!

It was no surprise that the part we all had been waiting for came at the very end of this latest episode but overall it made for quite an enjoyable affair. Ayesha Omer was brilliant today and Fawad Khan’s expressions were simply flawless, brilliant and very impressive in the last scene in particular. Zaroon is completely smitten and it was written all over his face today. I was really looking forward to everything that Sir Ibrar had to say to Zaroon and the best part had to be the one about values…what a valid question! Sir Ibrar was right in asking Zaroon if he had the values that Kashaf would want in her future husband and Zaroon did not have a good answer to his question but the expressions said it all. Sir Ibrar could probably tell that Zaroon was very sure about what he was doing and that was convincing enough for him. Like always the conversation between the two was an absolute delight to watch, all the verbal exchanges and glances….everything was perfect. So Zaroon considers Kashaf K2 and not Mount Everest, oh well, he will know soon enough!

Kashafosama

Kashaf decided to walk out on Osama by saying “mujhe dair ho rahi hai” and later on told him that she wanted to be just friends with him. Kashaf is so sure that nothing that comes easily to her can bring her happiness. She has always worked hard to earn her share of happiness and she won’t let her “fate” decide this matter for her. Osama’s proposal is perfect in every way, he is a nice man who loves Kashaf and his family does not have any issues with the proposal too but Kashaf is not used to good fortune that comes gift wrapped, therefore she thinks that something will go wrong somewhere only because she did not have to fight a long hard battle to get it. For now marriage is definitely not on the cards for Kashaf because she believes unlike her mother that she is not ready to get married.

sara mum

Ayesha Omer really impressed me with her performance today. Sara realizes that her decision to take divorce was wrong and blames her mother entirely for not guiding her in the right direction. I have to side with Sara on this one because no matter how many issues a married couple is having, parents should try their best to resolve the issues and not aggravate them further. This really should have been Sara’s decision and Ghazala by going out of her way to support her all the time, definitely pumped her up and influenced her decision. Sara and Farhan may not have been the ideal couple but they had been together long enough, therefore Sara finds it difficult to go on without Farhan, now that he has moved on with his life. The way Zaroon comforts his sister and at the same time share things with her about his own life was very nice to watch. We didn’t see Sara crying all the time but the two shared the sibling moments which we all love.

Zaron sara

Many of us already guessed that the rishta that Rafia and kashaf were talking about was actually going to be for Shehnila so no surprises there too. The Kashaf/Zaroon conversation brought a smile to my face like always; Zaroon calling in to see if Kashaf was still using the same number and Kashaf telling him she just might change her number now! The “I think we were just immature” dialogue and Kashaf’s response made me chuckle too. Zaroon will be Zaroon and Kashaf will be Kashaf! Zaroon likes Kashaf’s strength of character, something that he has not seen in many girls around him who would easily fall for his charm.

sir ibrar

I am so glad that Sidrah is back in the picture, the show would have been incomplete without the conversations between the two sisters. Kashaf may not listen to what Sidrah has to say but at least she is someone who tries to knock some sense into Kashaf every chance she gets.

FK

Overall I enjoyed this latest installment . I had great expectations from this episode and I was expecting it to be more about Zaroon and Kashaf but I enjoyed it nevertheless. The Zaroon/Sara scenes were very well done and I definitely enjoyed watching them. The Zaroon/Asmara engagement is officially over, which is good news because it means we will not be seeing Asmara again.  The next episode seems action packed, I am really looking forward to how Zaroon finally manages to climb K2 because the weather conditions and altitude problems may prove to be a greater obstacle than he ever imagined;)

Mirat-ul-Uroos Episode 16 & 17 – Sad Realities!

Let me start by saying that Mirat-ul-Uroos has completely grown on me and it is proving to be a very realistic play which depicts a lot of sad realities that exist in our society in a very apt manner. I am sure all the mothers, grandmothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and most of all the married couples can relate to this play on some level or the other. Another great thing about this play is that there are no black and white characters, all the characters seem like people from real life and although there was a time when Aima’s sermons and Ayza’s nakhras were getting to me but I am totally into the characters now. Everything has fallen into place and the story is moving forward nicely. Like any other Umera Ahmed play the story, dialogues and characters are such that it seems like you are watching someone’s real life on television. The direction was also excellent in both these episodes and the actors gave me no reason to complaint too.

First of all I want to share with you the few things that I really liked in these two episodes in particular and the entire play in general. I really like the way Aima shares everything with her mother. This is something that I generally find odd; the way married girls run to their parents to share everything so that they will sort out their problems. But Aima only shares things with her mother because they have such a special bond with each other; she never expects her mother to find solutions to her problems or even feel sorry for her. I really like Aima’s I-can-handle-everything-that-comes-my-way attitude towards life. Another very cute part of this play has been the relationship between Zain and daadi, the way Askari makes Zain do all her chores and the conversations they have, are very well done and definitely make me go down the memory lane. I am sure children who have been raised in joint families can relate to the relationship between the two. The way Hammad reacted to everything in these episodes was also very nicely done. Ayza did not scheme and plot to turn Hammad against his family but she is just very “open” about whatever she feels and Hammad is too “impressed” by his wife so he gets “convinced” easily. Rafia’s attitude towards Aima and the way Hamnah feels about her is also one of the very sad realities of our society. The bahu who brought more dowry and whose husband runs the house is respected more even if she dictates her terms and conditions to rest of the family members.

Mirat 16

Rafia kept on blaming Aima like the previous episode and she even showed her annoyance with her right on her face. Hashim may be careless and irresponsible but his parents’ attitude also is not helping the situation. Ayza had the guts to call Hashim “biwi ka ghulam”. I could completely relate to the way Amna felt when she heard Hashim and Aima arguing and she asked Aima’s father to give her a car and they also insisted that she should take cash. This is another sad fact of our society, giving your daughter away is not enough; you have to load her with money and goods too.

mirat

How many of you enjoyed Akbari’s “yeh mera akhri wakt hai” scene just because she wanted to convince her son that he should marry Faran with Javeria! These two episodes definitely were a complete package in my eyes, the incidents were very relatable, some of the happenings quite educational and it was engaging at the same time. And not to mention the fact that this play isn’t really about sibling rivalry but more about problems that many parents and married couples face. I am definitely no longer on the fence and looking forward to more.
