Yeh Shaadi Nahi Hosakhti Episode 5 & 6 – The Bhatts Arrive In Karachi

The Bhatts finally arrived in Karachi this week and created havoc in Sikander’s life. It was almost impossible for Sikander to fit the nine family members in his apartment but since Badi Ammi insisted, he had to make adjustments. The ‘adjustments’ included sending Hamza to the terrace to sleep since there was no space for him in the three bedroom apartment. The poor guy was scared out of his wits to sleep alone on the terrace, where he heard constant sounds of gunshots. The things Hamza does for his friendship with Sikander are just heartwarming.  I have said it before and I would say it again that I simply love Ahmed Hasan’s acting, and I think he has performed better than Mohib in this show.

photo (12)

On Sikander’s side, the Bhatt’s are trying to adjust in Karachi and on Alishba’s side; her Durre phupho (Saba Hameed) makes her dramatic entry. She is just full of drama and resorts to emotional blackmail all the time to convince people. She was highly offended when she received the news that Zahid and his family are not willing to accept Ahmed Hafees as their son-in-law and Alishba is interested in someone else. She left no stone turned to blackmail her brother to agree to Alishba and Ahmed Hafees’s marriage.

photo (11)

To deal with this new problem, Alishba asked Sikander to give her some time and tell his family to wait. Well, that was not something easy to accomplish for Sikander. He quickly made a plan to keep his family busy by taking them out and showing them Karachi and visiting the places he knew they would love. It cracked me up to see that the ‘places’ they were interested in visiting were Sea View, Zainab Market and Quaid-e-Azam ka Mazar. Their tour of the city was pretty entertaining. But all Sikander’s efforts went down the drain when at the end of the day they were still insisting on meeting Alishba’s family.

photo (9)

The main ruckus was created by Chammi Tai who had problems living in the congested apartment and she kept on telling Badi Ammi to get the deed over with and go back to Lahore. While Badi Ammi and Chammi Tai were desperate to return to Lahore, Soni, Tasneem Chachu and Guddi were having a lot of fun in Karachi. Even Tanveer Taya wanted to stay back in Karachi to establish his business here but this idea did not go well with Badi Ammi, who was not in favor of setting up the ‘Bhatt Sweet Chain’ anywhere else other than Lahore.

After Zahid’s dramatic (Alisha’s father) encounter with his mother and sister, the poor guy was left helpless and scared (He actually got sick!). In one brave attempt under the influence of his medicines, he told Durre very clearly that he is not interesting in marrying his daughter to a guy like Ahmed Hafees who only knows how to show off his father’s money. Along with this, he had a few more insulting things to say about Ahmed Hafees which offended his sister and she went crying to her mother. And there started another emotional outburst and blackmailing from Durre’s side! It seems like their mother has a soft corner for Durre and she easily succumbed to her emotional blackmail and refused to meet Sikander’s family.

photo (7)

Zahid, after seeing Alishba so tensed, gathered courage and decided to go with Alishba to meet his mother and convince her to come to their house and meet Sikander’s family. Alishba spoke up in front of her Dadi for the first time and clearly told her how she feels about Sikander. I had a feeling that Dadi would melt after seeing how Alishba felt about Sikander but unfortunately, this was not the case. Let’s see if Dadi would finally break her vow of not meeting Sikander’s family for Alishba’s sake.

photo (8)

Once again I loved the chemistry between Haniya and Hamza. Their scenes are always enjoyable to watch. The instant bonding between Chachu and Hamza was an absolute treat because they happen to be my two favorite people in this show. Soni’s Shayari was also at its peak in this episode and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

In the next episode we will see the confrontation between the Barood family and the Bhatts. That would sure be interesting!

Yeh Shaadi Nahi Hosakhti Episode 3 & 4 – The Persuasion!

The pace of this show is just right as it is neither very fast paced nor slow paced. The acting of a few people of the cast are not up to the mark as they even tend to overact at times but some are so perfect with their spot on comic timing that one can overlook the flaws of the rest of the cast. My personal favorites are Chacha (Waseem Abbas), Soni (Kaif Ghaznavi), Chammi Tai (Humaira Ali), Zahid (Saif-e-Hassan), Humza (Ahmed Hassan) and Dada Jaan (Qazi Wajid). They all have done a wonderful job!

photo(54)

There were a lot of developments in the show this week. It started off with Sikander bringing actors to pose as his fake in laws and his plan almost failed because of the overacting done by the ‘Anokha Bhatt’. But in the end, things finally worked out when Anokha Bhatt insulted Sikander by calling him a ‘non-Bhatt’ and he pretended to be offended and emotionally blackmailed the family members that he would not marry within their family. Before their plan could fully work, the truth got out about the fake in laws and this time Sikander clearly told his family members that he will only marry Alishba and surprisingly, Badi Ammi agreed. But unfortunately this was not the end of his problems! He now had to convince his Taya and Tai and this took another session of emotional blackmailing. The overacting done by Mohib was very annoying at times because it took away the charm from the scene; he definitely needs to brush up on his comic timing.

photo(55)

Once Sikander’s family had agreed to take his proposal for Alishba, the next hurdle was to talk to Alishba’s Dadi Jaan. This task was given to Zahid (Alishba’s father) who just could not gather enough courage to talk to his mother and as soon as he mentioned about Alishba’s proposal to her, Dadi Jaan announced that she had already set Alishba’s rishta with Ahmed Nafees, Alishba’s phupho’s son. Very surprisingly, the very coward Dada Jaan stood up at this point and showed his support for Alishba. The cute conversation between Alishba and her Dada Jaan was extremely adorable!

photo(56)

Like Sikander, Alishba also have some unique characters in her house. A father who is dead scared of his mother (Saif-e-Hassan is a very good actor), Dada Jaan who has come serious hearing issues (I love all his scenes as they are absolutely hilarious!) and Dadi Jaan who likes to order around and expects everyone to obey them without questioning. Alishba and Salma (Alishba’s mother) are the only two normal people in the family. Amber’s acting gets unbearable at times because of her weak dialogue delivery and expressions but overall I love her character as the supporting mother.

Salman Saeed finally made his entry this week. He plays the role of Ahmed Nafees (Alishba’s phupho’s son) whom her Dadi has chosen for her. Salman Saeed plays the character of the typical Sindhi Wadera with more or less no education and trunks full of money. The scene where he offers to take Alishba in his newest ‘Prado’ showed how much he liked to show off! How typical! He is another addition to the unique characters in Alishba’s family. It is too early to judge Salman Saeed as an actor because he barely had one scene this week. But it does look like he really needs to work on his expressions. I am definitely looking forward to see how his character shapes up.

photo

There are also a few other characters that I would like to mention. I just love the chemistry between Haniyah and Hamza, their constant bickering is fun to watch and I am already a huge fan of the actor playing the character of Hamza; he has the most perfect comic timing. Chammi Tai’s brother Channi Mammu (I laughed for a good 2 minutes at his name) who came to convince her to agree on Alishba and Sikander’s marriage is another interesting character. Soni did not have many scenes but I liked the one scene she had with Sikander because her shayari is truly amusing.

photo(53)

Now Alishba’s family has the huge task of talking to their phupho about ending Alishba’s rishta with Ahmed Nafees. Dadi Jaan refused to talk to her daughter and as usual Alishba’s father is too scared to talk to his sister. We will see the entry of Saba Hameed in the next episode playing the role of Alishba’s phupho.

I am definitely looking forward to next week’s episode. A lot of interesting things are coming up ahead so do not miss the show.

Yeh Shaadi Nahi Hosakhti Episode 13 & 14 – Sikander’s Flop Plan!

0

The week’s episode revolved around the reaction of Badi Ammi and Dadi Jaan upon seeing each other in the same house and how Sikander dealt with the whole situation. Overall, the episodes were full of entertainment as one twist unfolded after the other.

Just when Sikander was about to execute his plan, Badi Ammi gave Sikander a huge shock when she handed him the list of the guest that had to be invited to live with them in the house. The best scene was Hamza’s reaction to this news! Hassan Ahmed has excellent comic timing (as I have said many times before!) and he never ceases to amaze me with his outstanding expressions.

photo(8)Waseem Abbas was equally entertaining in the episodes. I really love his character; Jolly and full of life. His Punjabi accent, expression and dialogue delivery all are just perfect! All his dialogues are so well written by the writer, I thoroughly enjoy each one of them.

photo(9)Anjum Shehzad has done a fantastic job with the direction of this show. I loved the way he created suspense among the viewers by not showing what happened after Badi Ammi and Dadi Jaan confronted each other. Sikander narrated the whole event to Hamza and these scenes were my favourite scenes in the two episodes. Sikander’s plan turned out to be a huge flop and Hamza and Chachu left no chance to laugh at his situation. The bonding between these three is just perfect!

photo(6)After their confrontation, Sikander and Alishba both were back to square one. Both the Dadi’s showed their stubbornness and again refused to give permission for Alishba and Sikander’s marriage. Sikander convinced Badi Ammi with a bit of emotional blackmailing but the demand she kept was enough to make Sikander pull out his hair. Sikander was busy dealing with her Badi Ammi while Alishba was trying to convince her Dadi Jaan who was a harder nut to crack. The two Dadi’s might be poles apart but surprisingly, they kept the same demand. I am glad that they did not drag this track and both of them got convinced soon.

photo(4)Sikander’s fake apology was a bit over the top and I am still wondering how Dadi Jaan got convinced by this apology. Well, I have no complains here. I am really glad she finally agreed to the marriage. I was kind of tired of watching every one trying to convince her again and again.

I was glad to see that the story had finally moved forward to the next phase. From now on, we will get to see the bonding between the two families and how they will adjust with each other. The scene where the two families were singing and dancing together was a pure delight to watch.

Once the tension was over, we also saw some cute scenes between Alishba and Sikander. Previously, whenever they used to meet their only topic for discussion were their family problems. It was refreshing to see them care free and enjoying each other’s company. Mohib and Urwa have really good chemistry and their scenes are always a delight to watch.

Soni and Ahmed Nafees had instantly bonded in their first meeting; there are surly going to be more interesting scenes between these two in the coming episodes. I also see a future track between Chachu and Durre. I am really glad that Durre finally gave up with her scheming in the end! Though I doubt Ahmed Nafees would give up anytime soon.

One thing that I have found distracting is Mohib’s hair in this show. In some scenes, his hair looks absolutely fine but in other scenes, it resembles some bird’s nest. All my attention diverts from the scene to his disastrous hairstyle! He really needs to do something about them. Compared to this, his hairstyle in Kaash Aisa Ho was much better!

Yeh Shaadi Nahi Hosakhti Episode 1 & 2 – A Hilarious Sitcom

Amidst all the shows based on social issues that are on air right now, Yeh Shaadi Nahi Hosakhti is a breath of fresh for me. There have been many attempts to make sitcoms but they usually turn out be full of vulgar and cheap content which one cannot watch with their families. I have been looking forward to review a sitcom for quite some time now and this show instantly attracted me; firstly because of its writer Vasay Chaudhry and secondly because of its decent storyline and content.

The story of this show revolves around two characters: Alishba and Sikander. Here is a small introduction to both of their characters:

photo(191)  Sikander Bhatt (Mohib Mirza) belongs to the famous ‘Bhatt family’ of Lahore owner of the Bhatt Sweet chain. All the members of his family are typical Punjabis except him. He does not have the build nor the appetite or habits of a true Bhatt which is constantly pointed by every member of the family. He happens to be the only grandson of the family and despite of being devoid of any quality of a true Bhatt, he is adored by everyone. The over protective environment of his family causes him to run away from them and he settles in Karachi as soon as he gets a job. He meets Alishba in his university and she had been waiting for more than 3 years now for him to propose. But the problem is; how will he convince his Punjabi family who does not believe in marrying outside the family?

photo(193)

Alishba (Urwa Hocane) belongs to the famous ‘Barood’ family of Karachi. Her parents might be liberal in their views but her Dadi (Badar Khalil) is not. She wants Alishba to get married and this is how the whole problem starts. Alishba convinces Sikander to ask her hand from her family and she even emotionally blackmails her father to say yes but he keeps one condition: that he would not accept the proposal until Sikander comes with his family to ask for Alishba’s hand in marriage.

photo(197)

The first two episodes revolved around the introduction of the characters and Sikander’s family’s reaction to this big news. He came to his house with the intention of convincing his family to take his proposal to Alishba’s house but as soon as his Badi Ammi (played by the veteran actor Sangeeta) hears that he is interested in a girl outside the family, she goes on a protest and refuses to eat anything. To put an end to this situation, Sikander finally comes up with a plan and takes the help of his Chacha (Waseem Abbas) to execute it. Will he be successful in trying to convince Badi Ammi that he is ready to marry within their family?

photo(194)

Sikander has some unique and exceptional characters in his family. I am already in love with Waseem Abbas’s character as the fun loving Chacha as he has performed exceptionally well. Another character which I adored was of Sikander’s cousin Soni, who constantly tries to impress Sikander with her colorful yet failed attempt at Shayari. The very clever Tai and her stammering daughter Guddi also comes in the list of the unique and exceptional characters. Sikander’s mother and Taya seem to be the only normal people in the family.

While Sikander was trying to deal with the tense situation in his house, Alishba and her parents were trying to get rid of the family that was sent by Dadi for Alishba’s proposal. They quickly came up with a plan and by the end of their plan the family was long gone and they all were gloating at their victory.

photo(198)

Other than the two families I loved the relationship of Alishba and Sikander with their best friends. Hamza is Sikander’s best friend while Haniya is Alishba’s best friend and both are helping their best friends through this tough time. The introductory scene where Hamza starts acting to waste the client’s time so that Sikander can reach the office to give the presentation was absolutely hilarious. I really liked the comic timing of the actor played by Hamza.

Well, now the question is: How will Sikander convince his family to agree to his marriage with Alishba? Will his plan succeed? There are many things coming up so don’t forget to watch the show!

Just on a side note: What is wrong with Mohib’s hair? He needs to consult a hairstylist as soon as possible. His hair was distracting me throughout the episode. His long hair suited him way better than this horrendous hairstyle!

Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakhti Episode 7 & 8 – The Confrontation and Apology!

The latest installment of this show was full of drama, laughter and much more. We finally saw the confrontation between the Barood and Bhatts this week. Initially, they were pretty much enjoying each other’s company until Dadi Jaan made her dramatic entry. I felt pretty bad for the whole Bhatt family when Dadi insulted them so badly! She should not have called them words like ‘low standard’ and ‘low class’, that was pretty rude of Dadi Jaan. After that, there was no way Badi Ammi was going to do rishta with their family and this left both Alishba and Sikander helpless once again. photo(8)

Alishba and Sikander both lost hope for a while but then they were back again with a bang! They resorted to the oldest trick in the book: blackmailing. When nothing else works, this formula always works. Alishba blackmailed her parent by faking suicide, desperate times call for desperate measures! She finally made her father agree to go and apologize to Sikander’s family. One thing I find unbearable in this show is Amber’s overacting. She truly needs to learn how to act! Her overreaction to Alishba’s ‘suicide’ news was just too much to bear. The best part of this ‘suicide’ fiasco was Alishba’s treatment with Ahmed Nafees, she was so angry at him that she literally wanted to claw his face out! The poor guy got scared seeing this new side of her and went running to his mother and Nani.

photo(9)

Sikander also resorted to emotional blackmail to end Badi Ammi’s anger towards him. Mohib’s overacting in this scene was hard to digest! She finally did agree to the marriage when Alishba came with her parents to apologize to her for Dadi’s behavior. It was not easy though, initially she was furious to see them in her house and told them to leave immediately but it was Sikander’s mother  who finally spoke up this time. Sikander’s mother was quiet all this time because she felt indebted to the Bhatts for supporting them after Sikander’s father’s death. But when Sikander told her that she was sacrificing his happiness in the process, she spoke up against Badi Ammi for the first time. When Badi Ammi saw how much Alishba and Sikander loved each other, she finally agreed to the marriage but she also clearly said that she did not want to keep any relation with Alishba’s family. Well, at least she agreed to the marriage!

photo(10)

Now came the task of informing Dadi Jaan about Sikander’s and Alishba’s marriage, and this time Dada Jaan did not let Dadi Jaan or Durre have their way. He made it clear that Alishba will get married to Sikander whether they agree or not. Dada Jaan’s character is one of my favorite ones in the show. He might be half deaf but he can definitely speak up when needed. When Zahid came to apologize to his mother and to give an invitation for the ‘Haan’ function, Dada Jaan gave the final verdict that everybody will go to the function for Alishba’s sake. Now the question is, will Dadi Jaan really go to the function? I really hope so.

photo(7)

Baddi Ammi might have agreed to the marriage but not wholeheartedly. She refused to attend the ‘Haan’ function as she did not want to confront Dadi Jaan again. Sikander’s mother told her not to repeat the mistake she made years ago with her own son because by the time she realized her mistake, it was just too late. When Badi Ammi still did not melt and insisted on going back to Lahore, Sikander and Chachu created another drama to make her agree. That drama was a little hard to digest though. How did Badi Ammi ever fall for that drama is just beyond me.

Hamza was not seen much this week and I definitely missed him. I really loved the scene between him and Haniya though. It looks like Haniya is finally melting towards him and since she is thinking of ending her engagement with Saif, Hamza might have a chance now.

Now let’s see if Dadi Jaana and Badi Ammi make their appearance at the ‘Haan’ function!

Yeh Raha Dil Last Episode Review – It Could’ve Been Well, Even Though It Ended Well!

Ohkay so, finally, Yeh Raha Dil came to an end. As much as I am happy with the ending, I wish I could’ve said that about the way the ending was approached. The drama-makers expect us to tune to their drama (despite all the dragging) right till the end & just when the viewers do that in order to see their favorite characters together, they are given probably last 30 seconds of the drama together thinking it will be enough? I remember a lot of viewers complained about the fact that Hayat & Zaki being the lead pair didn’t have much scenes together but I always thought they must be saving the best for the last & we will get to see their magical scenes (& a lot of them) but now I feel trolled & yes, the drama-makers being responsible for it who literally gave the coverage to every other character for weeks & not Hayat & Zaki who we all were watching the drama for in the first place. Yes, I do understand that their relationship went through a lot of phases but to literally treat them as an after-thought was a bad bad idea! I don’t know why but I feel our drama-makers know how to kick start a drama but they really lack the knowledge of how to reach a perfect ending & this is exactly what happened with Yeh Raha Dil as well.

So, Salman came back & apologized to Hayat, even though I wasn’t expecting his return since it didn’t make any difference anymore, but the closure to this aspect was a bit too unrealistic. At least Hayat could’ve fought with him like the way she always did, it was good that she forgave him but demanding a little explanation wouldn’t have hurt. Yes, Hayat was at a happy place since she got her parents back, a sister, her home, enough finances to lead a stable life so it didn’t really matter to her what Salman did but at least Salman owed her an explanation!

Ohkay, even though I liked that Nida was shown leaving no stone unturned to convince everyone around her that she didn’t want to get married to Zaki since he & Hayat belonged together but I found those scenes a bit too unnecessarily long, like they could’ve easily cut down on them to accommodate others’ or if not anyone else; Hayat & Zaki’s scenes since they were the main leads. The conversation between Zaki, Nida & Jimmy was way too stretched because they kept on repeating the same things over & over again. Nida already explained herself to Zaki & told him the reason why she was backing out but looked like she had to do a whole lot of explaining once again only to fill the duration of the episode.

I really liked how they showed Hayat reflecting on everything that had happened in her life lately, where she was thankful for each & everything as this is exactly what she wanted but yes, she was dreading the idea of Zaki’s return in her life, even though in the end, she was the one who approached & confessed, so I guess it would’ve made so much sense if they had told what changed in her like what convinced her to go by what Nida wanted?

I never really thought that I would say, but out of all the conversations, I had a good laugh at Nida & Hassan’s conversation because his dialogues provided that comedy quotient that this drama was once known for. I mean how simple & plain could he be where he was being informed that he was played upon & he was comparing himself & his situation to Shahrukh Khan that too based on hypothesis? Oh well, Hassan did have a slip of tongue where he said ‘achi family ki larki’, hmmmm so even he wasn’t so unconditionally in love with Hayat & it was obvious that after seeing Hayat’s lifestyle & her family, Hassan thought it wasn’t a bad idea to be with a girl like her as it would help him secure his future & to be honest, it looked like he was more sad for missing out on the opportunity in stead of mourning Hayat’s loss, lol!

So, talking about the last scene, I so wish they had recreated that magical chemistry that both Hayat & Zaki once shared but since they didn’t have much time & they were rushing, they just brought in the flavor of the love-hate relationship that they both had. I am not sure why Zaki wasn’t the one who approached Hayat since he was going through so much of pain to play tricks on her so now when Nida was out of his life, what was he waiting for? I liked the fact that the writer gave a message that in stead of rushing into the marriage, both Hayat & Zaki set goals for themselves, like showcasing that they had their own life & priorities, even though it saddened me because I assumed we’d be getting to see Dilbar Jahangir (DJ) for the last time performing on their wedding so it didn’t happen but I still liked the fact that the drama didn’t end on a typical happily-ever-after note!

Overall, this episode was good but it could’ve been so much better. There was too much rona dhona for my liking, especially in a drama which started off as a rom-com. Yes, the things that needed closure needed this sort of treatment but just the way they added some bits of comedy through Hassan, they could’ve done that through other characters too in order to stay true to the genre of the drama. Even though the parents had their happy ending, but I wish they had shown their reactions on this matter too, where they had encouraged & appreciated Nida for her honesty & selflessness & had given their nod of approval to Hayat & Zaki. I feel so much else could’ve been done in this last episode but it was an opportunity wasted. However, I liked the fact that the writer very intelligently brought out the originality of the characters & kept them true to who they were introduced as. Nida chose to be stubborn just the way she was introduced even though she had so many people telling her that she shouldn’t call off this marriage. Zaki stayed confused even when the coast was clear & still wanted someone else (in this case Hayat) to take charge of the situation, like he just knew that he loved her but didn’t know the way to go about it. Hayat stayed calm & relaxed even after seeing the one who betrayed her in the worst possible way, like these were the details that I loved & enjoyed watching, it showcased the ability of the writer & the clear cut vision of his with which he conceived those characters!

I must thank the writer Mustafa Afridi for giving us such amazing characters & some very amusing dialogues throughout this drama. I will especially thank him for writing the character of Haroon, such a cool father who in stead of blaming anyone else, always held his son accountable for his mistakes & shortcomings. I loved his sarcastic one-liners that he directed at Zaki in order to wake him up but it just didn’t happen. I enjoyed Hayat’s character too & Zaki was an interesting hero as well who stayed confused right till the end. Fatima’s character was another interesting addition to the story where she was unapologetically herself & didn’t believe in posing to be someone she wasn’t. I wish they had shed a bit more light on what went wrong between Affaq & Hayat’s mother because during the drama it was hinted that something or the other will be revealed but it looked like a forgotten detail, like I was actually interested to find out the reason behind them drifting apart. I will especially thank Arjumand Azhar Hussain & Ayesha Sana for their phenomenal performances, just loved watching them as Haroon & Fatima. Imran Peerzada performed decently too. Adnan Jaffar deserves a special mention for playing the character of Jimmy with such finesse that he made us laugh even in the most complicated situations. Ahmed Ali Akbar & Yumna Zaidi were perfect as Zaki & Hayat & stayed in their element throughout the drama. The one who impressed me the most with the improved acting was Anum Gohar, like I could never imagine that the girl who was the weakest actor in the drama Kathputli had this much potential to perform like she was just amazing as Nida & lived the character of a fierce competitive model to perfection. Last but definitely not the least, I will thank Ehtashamuddin for becoming memorable Dilbar Jahangir & making us laugh hysterically! The director did a brilliant job as well but after a certain point it became a bit too obvious that even he couldn’t have a grip on the story because the producers chose to swoop in & told him to stretch the drama. I so wish Hum TV stops doing that because they have ruined some amazing amazing dramas by resorting to this practice.

Will I still recommend this drama to those who are interested in binge-watching it? Most certainly yes because it would be easier for them to skim through those episodes where the story lost its charm & became unreasonably stagnant. For me, it is going to remain such a drama that I have mixed feelings about, like I loved more than half of it but the ending part failed to keep my interest intact. Overall, I will still say it was a good & fun experience to tune to Yeh Raha Dil. Please share your thoughts about this interesting drama!

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 7 Review – Adorable!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was adorable & I loved watching it because not only the developments were great but the way everything unfolded was beautiful as well. I must say the best thing about Yeh Raha Dil is the way the writer has made us fall in love with all the characters because they all seem so genuine & realistic, where they can be impulsive enough to act harshly but the very next moment can also feel the guilt for being so uncourteous. I love how the writer has added so many shades into all these characters & has given them a unique personality because of which when they all come together, they make it look like a cocktail which has so many different flavours. Isn’t it amazing to be able to see a drama which has so much of warmth in it & it just makes you smile throughout? This is exactly what I look for in a drama so I’m a happy viewer & reviewer. :)

So, Zaki obviously reacted without even thinking twice & told Hayat to leave when he spotted her at his property. Obviously Hayat left such a bad impression on him because of all the things she said to Nida & just because Zaki had such a hard time in making things right with his lady love that he didn’t want to take a chance as he knew that Nida couldn’t tolerate Hayat for a second & he couldn’t afford to give her another chance. I found it quite sweet how later Zaki realized that he was a little too harsh in dealing with Hayat & not only that, despite being talked out of it by Nida, he still thought that may be everything that Hayat said was true.

Hayat’s break down was so emotional & heart-wrenching. I loved loved loved the fact that Hayat never intended to play a victim card in front of Zaki nor she acted like a bechari or damsel in distress in front of him when she saw that Zaki came to help her out again. Hayat was in a state of shock when she got robbed & that was the moment when she gave up because she couldn’t take it anymore but luckily Zaki witnessed everything & realized that he actually made a mistake by not taking Hayat seriously. It was quite sweet seeing how Zaki comforted Hayat because he couldn’t even imagine that a head-strong & happy-go-lucky kind of a girl like Hayat could actually give up on her life to this extent that she was ready to face death. Hayat’s state of shock & Zaki’s compassion were the highlights of this episode for me because Hayat didn’t even realize how much she affected Zaki & how much he was actually worried for her that he not only brought her to his home but also gave her his space to make her feel better. It was probably for the first time that Zaki actually had some thoughts about Hayat, only because he saw her in such a state that he never could’ve imagined. Hayat always played the victim card for fun’s sake in front of Zaki because she tried to push her luck when she was in Nepal but she never really did it seriously as she is not the kind, may be that’s why Zaki understood that Hayat’s situation was far more grave than he initially thought it was.

I remember just in the previous review I mentioned that I was looking forward to an interaction between Hayat & Haroon & in this episode it happened just so effortlessly. I loved how Hayat came in front of Zaki’s parents & not only that, she casually shared a breakfast with them too. It was quite an amusing & non-serious kind of situation where Zaki brought a stranger in the house & then introduced her to his parents saying she was the owner of the house that his father just purchased. It was quite interesting that not only Zaki but even Haroon gave Hayat a fair chance to explain what she wanted to say & then brainstormed about it. Even Haroon’s assistant felt everything about this deal was suspicious because they got the property for less than what it was worth.

I must say Yumna Zaidi made me tear up in the scene where Hayat explains Zaki that this place belonged to her & how she owned it because she was familiar with all the smallest little details about it. Even though Hayat’s character is quite loud & boisterous but what makes it even more amazing is the fact that she is in touch with her emotional side to such an extent, like who would’ve thought that a carefree girl like Hayat could be so emotionally attached to her place that she would even count the walls or the stairs in her home? It was beautiful.

Another scene that I enjoyed the most was the validation & testimony that Zaki got through Hayat’s neighbor who warned Zaki about Hayat’s shortcomings & all the unusual habits. Even though Hayat thought that the neighbor aunty filled in all the wrong details but whatever she said was enough for Zaki to understand that Hayat wasn’t lying & she actually used to live there because no one else could’ve given out such honest details to him about Hayat.

Nida was obviously not too happy with how Zaki was trying to help Hayat, that too when her parents were coming to meet Zaki & his parents. Even though Nida might seem immature but whatever she says does make quite a lot of sense, like even though we all feel for Hayat a lot more but what Nida said about the possibility of Hayat trapping Zaki along with her friend Salman did sound realistic. Nida is protective of Zaki & she obviously wanted make sure that her intuition was heard by Zaki’s parents too, which actually turned out to be the case because Haroon did feel that Nida had a valid point.

The final conversation between Hayat, Zaki & his parents was quite interesting too. Hayat is manipulative but she is not conniving, like she is someone who resorts to emotional blackmailing, even though she had all the reasons to be emotional & she actually was emotional but in stead of making it difficult for Zaki & his parents, she tried to throw in some drama to convince them. Looks like Hayat & Zaki are going to spend a lot more time together & I can’t wait to see how their track together unfolds but for now, I am thoroughly enjoying their friendship.

Overall, I had a great time watching this episode because it was like a roller-coaster ride of emotions where they made us smile & then got us emotional as well. Some of the readers did mention the possibility of Hayat & Nida being sisters & I was pleasantly surprised at their prediction because that seems to be the case because as the preview suggests, Nida’s father is actually Hayat’s father & through this home, he will be able to get in contact with Hayat, I am interested to see how Nida & even Nida’s mother will take the news of Hayat being related to him. Things are going to get quite a bit exciting. As always, all the actors did a wonderful job; Ahmed Ali, Anam Gohar, Azra Mohiuddin, Arjumand Azhar Hussain but the one who took the crown in this episode is hands down Yumna Zaidi, for portraying the shades of Hayat’s character & all the emotions that she went through so flawlessly. I am enjoying Yeh Raha Dil so much & can’t wait for the next episode already. Please share your thoughts about this beautiful episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 25 Review – Interesting Episode!

Ohkay so, it was quite an interesting episode of Yeh Raha Dil. I enjoyed it & this episode reminded me why I fell in love with this drama in the first place, because all the scenes had a purpose & there were so many conversations which were fun & had humor in them. It looks like they are heading towards the closure therefore all the loose ends have started getting tied, which is finally the kind of progress that I was waiting for!

So, it wasn’t only Hayat who on her own was trying to stop Fatima from going, but even attempts were being made by Affaq too, even he didn’t want Fatima to leave because he genuinely loves her. It was good that Hayat finally played the trump card & revealed the biggest secret in front of Fatima. While watching this entire scenario, I was actually liking Hayat’s involvement in this entire affair but then it reminded me that just last week I was feeling that Hayat’s nose-poking wasn’t making any sense, then it made me realize that when things are dragged, that’s what usually happens, where even those characters that you love & relate to just stop making sense to you. I still wish they hadn’t added so many episodes in this drama because the charm would’ve still stayed intact. I loved the little hug that Hayat & Fatima shared as a mother & daughter, I loved their conversations too. Fatima would’ve never thought that Hayat would end up becoming someone she’d confide in & she’d keep her secret hidden with her for the rest of her life.

Affaq & Fatima’s conversation was another highlight of the episode for me. It was so cute seeing two mature people admitting their mistakes, rekindling the love they had for each other & reminding themselves of all those smallest of details which made them fall in love with each other in the first place. Fatima did realize that Affaq didn’t want her to go & seeing Affaq remaining unaffected with Fatima’s affair was another positive aspect. Affaq was well aware of his own short-comings too & he knew that he wasn’t there for Fatima when she needed him the most, therefore he decided to undo all of his mistakes & gave this marriage another chance. It was interesting how Affaq thought it was only because of his efforts that Fatima decided to stay whereas he had no idea what a huge favor Hayat did for him & her step-mom!

Nida finally had a conversation with Zaki & told him that it wasn’t because of him that she wanted out of this marriage, but it was because of her own realizations & mistakes that she took this decision. I didn’t really understand Zaki’s hesitation & his stance, like now when things were shaping up, he was stopping Nida from doing the right thing. Yes, he isn’t selfish & him not jumping with joy at that very moment made sense too but still, he should’ve understood Nida in stead of stopping her from saying what she wanted to. Just when I was enjoying the entire episode & found it a strong one after a few weeks, there came Hassan as a reminder of the of the reason why this drama was dragged. I felt may be for the first time Hayat had this admiration for Hassan seeing his simplicity & decency. I am sure now Hayat would be at the brink of saying yes to Hassan just when Nida will tell her that she is backing out!

It was a good episode & I had a great time watching it. I really think they should end this drama now. The conversation between Jimmy & Affaq did suggest that may be our favorite DJ will make an appearance again on the wedding functions & if that’s the case, then I can’t wait for his performance already. Khalla, Bait ul Khalla & few other dialogues really made this episode interesting. I also loved how Fatima lost her cool while cussing her boyfriend & then immediately composed herself & came back in her element where she is always calm, collected & poised, lol. I loved Ayesha Sana in this episode, it was a treat to watch her & she really has given a lovely personality to Fatima’s character. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 24 Review – Agony Aunt In Action!

Ohkay so, let me get this out of the way first, I am sure this episode would’ve worked for a lot of viewers but sadly it didn’t work for me. The only good thing that I saw in this episode was a development in Nida’s character which was again long due, so I am glad things finally moved in that direction where her character went through an emotional transition but that’s where it all stopped for me because I didn’t enjoy Zaki & Hayat’s scenes nor their behavior!

So, Tabrez only tried to exploit Nida as he knew that she is emotionally weak, so he thought he would once again use her to make himself feel better. Tabrez’s ego didn’t allow him to accept that Nida was finally moving on in her life & that is why even after breaking up with her, he was tailing her because of which he knew that she was getting married. Tabrez himself is a weak man who by making the most of others’ weaknesses feels good about himself. Nida actually got scared & thought may be she had left something with Tabrez that he was trying to use against her.

It was good to see Hayat trying to comfort Nida but that’s where her character stopped making sense for me in this episode. All her lectures to Zaki & her overly portrayed concerns for Nida were off-putting, to the point where I started seeing Hayat as an Agony Aunt. For the first time it looked like Hayat was arguing for the sake of it, only to test Zaki further to see if he will actually stand by his word & will protect Nida. Again, seeing Hayat taking the ‘credit’ for lecturing Zaki on dignity was off-putting. Hayat needs to sort her own mess before trying to fix others’ problems as it looks like Hayat really is interested in others’ lives more than she is in hers & that makes her look lifeless & aimless at times. Yes, to be honest, in the beginning it was good to see Hayat being this strong, level headed, independent sort of a girl who wasn’t weak but now seeing all that she has been doing from last so many episodes, that thing is making her look annoying rather than interesting. For me, in this episode, Hayat came out as an Agony Aunt who had a hard time minding her own business. Yes, Hayat wanted to protect her sister Nida but then seeing everything that she directed at Zaki was uncalled for & then the way she tried to argue with him a bit more to get back at him really made it look like she was trying to pick a fight & when Zaki wasn’t giving her that chance, she was getting agitated!

It was good that Zaki took a stand for Nida & told Tabrez that nothing that he’d say or do will make Zaki change his mind. Tabrez, like I said being a weak man only needed this dose to know that Nida was not alone & that’s why he lost the confidence he had when he threatened Nida. To be honest, I didn’t feel a thing for Hayat when she was standing there shedding tears on her ‘majboori’ where she is backing out of her love to give Nida the love of her life, sorry, she has done this to herself so no sympathies there!!!

Now, coming over to the good thing about this episode, it was Nida’s realization. Finally, Nida was tired of playing games, she was tried of manipulating people, she was tired of exploiting Zaki & she was tired of doing everything that she has done till date, that is why even when Jimmy tried to show her the brighter side of the picture that things will sort out after her marriage, Nida didn’t seem thrilled by the idea as she could finally see that everything was wrong. She has really played games with Zaki, Hayat & has also involved her mother to achieve her goal, so now when everything was under control, she could see that she wasn’t at peace as her conscience was making her realize that she was wrong all this while & she won’t be able to have that happiness that she dreams of while having so many burdens on her heart & mind.

Overall, this episode was just alright. I enjoyed a few light-hearted conversations that Affaq, Haroon, Azra & then Azra & Zaki had. Anum Goher’s dressing (except that white kurta near the pool) in this episode was hideous, I guess she forgot that she was playing the character of a fashion model in this drama. Yes, Nida’s character was going through a transition but that shouldn’t have affected her dressing in such a bad manner. Yumna Zaidi’s bright blue shirt was nice & it suited her complexion, probably one of those very few dresses in Hayat’s collection that were good! Yeh Raha Dil Episode 23 Review – A Hit & A Miss!

Ohkay so, this episode was a hit & a miss for me. It started off really well & even ended on an interesting note too but I lost my interest in the middle somewhere. I really don’t want to say this but I never imagined that the team of Yeh Raha Dil would test the patience of the viewers. Some of the scenes are so long that you can easily see how they are relying on those conversations/situations to fill up the episode. I really think it’s about time for all the loose ends to be tied together to give this drama a decent ending. I keep on seeing some comments where people say it’s the 2nd last episode or it ends in a couple of weeks but sadly, I don’t see that happening & for that reason I am kind of disappointed. Enough with the dragging pleaseee!!!

I loved the first scene of the episode, not because of anyone else, but because of the DJ. His rendition of HUM’s OSTs was amazing, starting from Sang e Marmar to Mann Mayal to Yeh Raha Dil, he was epic. I loved how even when everyone was talking, he was busy with his dance moves to keep the party going. I wish he had come up with his version of Birthday Song too but chalo nevermind, at least he was a part of the celebration & I am glad that he & his team must’ve gotten the food & the cake, since he was quite keen on being fed on the day of Zaki & Nida’s engagement too.

Just when I was kind of enjoying the comical spin on how everyone was putting a pressure on Hayat & how she was feeling overburdened by it, I started feeling equally bad for Hassan because he of all the people doesn’t deserve this. Yes, he is a bit off & is quite slow to even realize that he is being played upon, but then again, he is not at fault & Zaki & even Sidra should be ashamed of themselves for giving Hassan all the wrong hopes. Also, even though I feel bad for Hassan & just when I thought I could tolerate his character in last episode, I found him intolerable in this one, like seriously, Hayat was clearly insulting him & he was seeing it as her expression of love, I know some people might derive some comedy out of it but that’s where it just stopped for me.

Finally Hayat confronted Zaki & just exactly what I assumed, Hayat promised to turn herself into a sacrificial lamb by getting married to Hassan so that she gets out of Nida & Zaki’s way so that Zaki has no option left than to get married to Hayat’s baby sister Nida. Seriously, please don’t ruin your character for us Hayat. I actually thought that Hayat like she claimed would seriously go ahead & tell everyone that she is not interested in Hassan but not sure why Zaki’s words affected her to such an extent that she decided that getting married would be the right thing to do? Like who says Hayat has to give the actual reason that since she loves Zaki, she doesn’t want to get married to Hassan whereas all she can say is that she doesn’t see a compatibility between herself & Hassan or that their mental wavelength doesn’t match? I really am not liking how Hayat gave in to this emotional blackmailing & got scared that before the truth gets out that she loves Zaki, she should get married to Hassan to hide everything!?!?!

Oh well, Hayat’s now trapping Fatima’s boyfriend because she wants to fix her parent’s relationship. It was interesting that Affaq apologized for his behavior & told Fatima clearly that he doesn’t want her to leave. This was the best development that I saw in this episode. I think these baby steps will definitely melt Fatima’s heart & also the fact that Hayat is on Fatima’s boyfriend’s case, he will surely back out. The conversation between Hayat & Nida was interesting. It was definitely good to see Haroon & Azra back in the picture again, Haroon definitely knows all of Zaki’s weaknesses that is why he was being pushy that Zaki should get married to Nida straight away, without any delays. So, looks like Tabrez made an appearance again, I really hope his character is brought back to wrap things up & not to drag the story further. I think this is another thing that will change Nida’s perspective of Hayat when she will see Hayat standing up for her & fighting with Tabrez to save Nida’s integrity. I think Nida is going to get a lot of chances to see Hayat’s niceness & she will also get a lot of chances to back out in order to allow Zaki & Hayat to be together. Well, a lot of chances but let’s see when everything will be materialized because it’s about time guys!

Overall, this episode was alright, like I have mixed feelings about it. All the actors are doing a great job but to be honest, I am getting annoyed by Zaki’s character, yes, he has his reasons as he wants to teach Hayat a lesson but then literally fooling someone into believing something is really shallow. Hayat didn’t ‘use’ Nida in the first place, she only secured Nida’s place in Zaki’s life & made sure to give her what was hers, so Zaki really can’t put both the things on the same pedestal. Also, I will dislike Hayat’s character if she will agree to get married to Hassan. Yes, right now Hayat has said it in the spur of the moment & is not thinking much about it because she has Affaq & Fatima’s relationship on her mind, but I really hope she keeps on avoiding this topic & doesn’t go ahead with it because I would hate to see her turning into a sacrificial lamb. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil & yes, special thanks to Ehtashamuddin for another amazing performance. I hope when the couples get married by the end of the drama, he is the one who gets to perform on their wedding functions too, like I seriously want to see him again. :D

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 22 – & He’s Back!

Ohkay so, even though the star of the show is back, yes I am talking about the DJ but I will get to him later because first I have a lot of praising to do. I remember one of the commenters said that every 3rd episode of Yeh Raha Dil happens to be amazing & I think this time around I’ll have to agree with that notion because after 2 below average episodes, this one was perfect in every sense. I couldn’t stop smiling throughout this episode because the subtle, situational comedy was a part of it & after boring 2 episodes, to hear such witty & amusing dialogues did make me feel that this episode in particular was written by Mustafa Afridi again. Also, even the scenes which were emotional were executed perfectly that I couldn’t help feel for the characters. This episode, like all the other episodes of Yeh Raha Dil (previous 2 excluded) had all the flavors, some comedy, some serious talks, some emotions & for that reason, I loved it!

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed all the conversations that took place in this episode. Hayat tried to get to the crux of the situation & wanted to understand what was happening between Affaq & Fatima. Even though by the end of the previous episode I was annoyed by Hayat & didn’t like her approach where she tried to talk to Fatima about her personal life but this time around, I liked that she didn’t mind getting slapped & also in stead of speaking to Fatima, she finally spoke to her father to know what was wrong.

Fatima & Affaq’s conversation was written brilliantly as well but what I enjoyed more was the fact that the director didn’t give away everything just yet. Also, for now the writer very intelligently shifted our focus on Fatima & Affaq’s issues & forced us to do some thinking & assume things as to who stands wrong in this relationship. As far as I could comprehend, Fatima has misconstrued something & she is adamant on the fact that Affaq has cheated on her & may be only to get back at him, she got involved with someone else too. The focus on how Affaq believes in staying quiet & not giving explanations was another fact that was highlighted intelligently, because it showed that this trait of Affaq is literally ruining his relationship & he is not going to change himself to make things work. The way Affaq spoke to Hayat went to show that he was hurt that Fatima mistrusted him & assumed that he could cheat on her & because of that, he allowed her to think on those lines without saying anything to prove her wrong.

I think it was quite interesting that both Fatima & Hayat didn’t hold any grudges against each other & in fact, Hayat tried to take this entire matter in her hands because she believes in herself & feels she can fix everything, which I by the way am interested to see. I think this is something that will change Nida’s attitude & perspective towards Hayat. I believe this entire aspect has been added by the writer to bring Nida to that point where she will start seeing Hayat’s niceness & will regret doubting her & her intentions, because no matter how selfish one gets, if someone fixes something so important like their parents’ relationship, nothing else matters anymore. I am sure when Nida will see Affaq & Fatima back together that too because of Hayat, she will realize her mistakes & will give up on the hatred that she has for Hayat too.

Another surprising factor was that it was Hayat who chose to console Fatima when she broke down & not only that, she decided to confront her father for her sake. Where Nida was only bothered about herself & her face saving, Hayat was being considerate about her step mother more. The way the difference between Nida & Hayat’s mentality & perspective was shown was brilliant where Nida thought her father hated Fatima & Hayat could see how much he loved her. Hayat has finally understood her father & she can see that he is hurt & that is why, now she’d do everything to make both Affaq & Fatima fall back in love with each other again, which I think is very sweet. Oh well Mr. Mike, you have no idea that Hayat is chasing after you & she will make sure to throw you out of Fatima’s life, so get ready for some fireworks!

At the moment, I am expecting more from Zaki, like I know he is subtly playing his game only to make Hayat realize her mistakes too but then, something more. It was good that Zaki & Hayat had an interaction in this episode & I guess it was more than enough, for now at least. I enjoyed the conversation that took place between Affaq & his friend/Hayat’s Principal as well, like they were two very good & old friends who were teasing each other & finding humor in their interaction, that entire scene was acted out nicely as well. So, Hassan finally met Affaq & even though Affaq seemed impressed, Hassan left a certain kind of impression on him too. I lol’ed at how even Affaq couldn’t believe that Hayat would choose someone like Hassan for himself but then Zaki distracted him immediately & told him that Hassan’s the one!

For the first time I didn’t mind Hassan’s presence in this episode because it was compensated with other important aspects & characters that I found it alright that he got some coverage. I enjoyed his & Jimmy’s interactions as well where Hassan wanted to make Hayat’s birthday ‘isspecial’ & Jimmy showed him the real picture as to how much that ‘isspecial’ birthday would cost him, lol! So, Hayat was sent to the venue that Hassan & Jimmy chose & I think Jimmy did a huge favor to Hassan & to us all by sending the best DJ in town to steal the show again. I couldn’t stop laughing at his antics & I liked the fact that the DJ had some dialogues this time around as well where he got a chance to explain how he’s a master of his trade & how he’d help Hassan with his proposal as well. I wish I could’ve enjoyed his dancing a bit more but the episode ended but I am most certainly looking forward to his ‘isspecial’ geet that he’ll sing during Hayat’s entry. I say Isspecial thanks so much Ehtashamuddin by making the viewers of Yeh Raha Dil laugh out loud. You once again stole the show!

Overall, I loved this episode of Yeh Raha Dil, like it just made me happy. If this keeps up, I don’t mind seeing a lot more episodes of this drama as well but I think they are now headed towards the ending but with the right approach. I can’t wait to see Hayat & Zaki’s confrontation too & also, Haroon is going to make an appearance so yes, I am actually quite excited for the next episode. Ehtashaamuddin of course & then Adnan Jaffar definitely stole the show in this episode. It is amusing how comfortable Jimmy gets with everyone around him, like Hassan was quite skeptical but Jimmy acted all friendly with him to let him know that he is rooting for him & Hayat as well. I love how Anum Goher & Ayesha Sana have commonality when it comes to overall styling & personality, like both Fatima & Nida are always well put together, blingy & well-dressed, like they scream mother daughter duo to me. For the first time I enjoyed others performances more than Yumna Zaidi’s but that doesn’t mean she didn’t do her bit well. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Edited to add: I missed the first minute of the episode as I was tuning to the live streaming, so I missed the fact that the confrontation between Hayat & Fatima was just an imagination of Hayat & it didn’t actually happen. Now that I watched the episode again after it has uploaded, I realized that the confrontation between Hayat & Fatima didn’t take place. Kindly, ignore the mistake. :)

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 21 Review – Not Too Happy!

Oh dear, never did I imagine that after watching an episode of Yeh Raha Dil, I will fall short of words & never did I imagine that I’d get to see any such episode of Yeh Raha Dil which wouldn’t really appeal to me. Sadly, this was one such episode of Yeh Raha Dil that I absolutely didn’t enjoy watching & it almost ended up becoming a burden to sit through this because all the situations that are now unfolding in the story are not making much sense. I don’t really want to say this but this & the last episode made me feel that certain things are only being added to drag the drama & reach a certain number of episode. What made me think on these lines were the scenes that were never-ending & the conversations that became so repetitive that I just couldn’t take it anymore.

I am sure those who like & understand Hassan’s character would have enjoyed the entire ‘comedy’ that was pushed in by showcasing his confusion & nervousness when he was trying to convey the new-found love that he has for Hayat because for someone like me, who doesn’t enjoy his character, I found it a bit too boring. If they had introduced Hassan as a confused soul right from the beginning, I think now all that he is doing wouldn’t have looked so odd & it wouldn’t have looked like he is not being himself because all that I knew about his character was that he was a very rigid & a sorted human being who knew his priorities & limits. Bringing flowers to his workplace & roaming around with a bouquet in a school full of students doesn’t really scream wise to me & all this while, I thought Hassan was all about wisdom & sensibility. Yes, right now it is being shown that when one is in love, they tend to do things which even they themselves never have imagined but once again, I don’t really understand how all of a sudden Hassan has fallen so much in love with Hayat that he is doing everything that is against his personality & nature? If they had shown him developing feelings for Hayat on his own, everything would’ve made sense but to see him doing all this on someone else’s testimony is unconvincing!

I really thought that Sidra being the one who knows what Hayat feels for Zaki would go & inform her that it is Zaki who has started all this & it is Zaki who is encouraging Hassan to propose to Hayat but in stead, she also joined in the drama & ended up pushing Hassan towards Hayat a bit more? I am not sure if that was supposed to evoke some comedy or it was just a stupid judgment on Sidra’s part because if there’s one person who understands Hayat it is Sidra, so I don’t think such clumsiness was expected from her. All the conversations in which Hassan was involved were long, boring & repetitive. Yes, we get it, he is new at this entire idea of love & he is feeling like a fish out of the water but after a certain point, in stead of deriving some comedy out of this scenario, I started feeling bad for Hassan because for their own selfish reasons, both Zaki & even Sidra were pushing him towards the wrong direction, like it feels they are turning Hassan into a puppet to kill their boredom which I never thought would happen with someone in this drama!

Thankfully, the second half of the episode got interesting where the characters who I am actually concerned about were shown. Life has presented a fantastic career opportunity to Nida & right now just because she has Zaki on her mind, she rejected the offer but I am not sure how long she’ll be able to resist it considering how Jimmy will be manipulating her & pushing her to sign the contract. Right now, Nida’s priorities are different that is why she didn’t discuss this offer with Zaki but I also have a feeling that if Zaki had told her not to do it, only to rile him up, she would’ve gone ahead with the contract. I am interested to see how this will unfold because Jimmy most certainly is not going to sit quietly & see this opportunity slip away from him!

Even though Hayat’s concerns for her father are understandable but her conversation with Fatima seemed a bit too sudden & uncalled for. I think Hayat has always been quite cautious & has dealt with her new family members with a lot of patience & respect, so not sure why she decided to speak to Fatima just so casually that too about the matters that are so personal? I think if Hayat had picked on something, she should’ve spoken to her father first because Fatima is not at all answerable to Hayat. I also believe she crossed the line with her step mother because she had no right to interrogate her like that in the first place. I really believe if Hayat could eavesdrop on Fatima & pick on the details about her love affair, then they could’ve also shown Hayat eavesdropping on Nida & getting to know what her intentions are because that would’ve guaranteed a quicker & a convincing wrapping of things, which I most certainly am looking forward to at this stage!

This episode didn’t work for me at all. I am sure it must’ve worked for all those who like Hassan’s character. Honestly speaking, the preview of the next episode didn’t seem promising & for the first time while watching the precap I felt burdened that I’d have to tune to this drama to find out what is going to happen because at this stage all the loyal viewers of Yeh Raha Dil want to see the ending of this drama & it’s sad that they’d have to sit through a few meaningless & filler episodes to finally know how it ends. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 20 Review – New Twists & Turns!

Ohkay so, got a dose of Yeh Raha Dil after 2 weeks but I so wish I had enjoyed this episode as much as I enjoyed all the previous ones. Yes, this episode did have a few developments to its credit but it was a bit too slow, also, I am not sure how I feel about the new twists in the story, obviously things will be convincing & there’d be a reason for everything that is happening now, but I am not feeling these new developments but let’s see.

I really wish Nida gets tired of this hatred that she is brewing in her heart, I really wish that happens because even after getting engaged, she is still insecure. It is like even Nida herself knows that Zaki is not into her & he only got engaged because he was pressurized, so in stead of trying to make things difficult for Hayat & in stead of trying to win the lost battle, she should stop stalling & face the reality. I wish that one fine day Nida wakes up & realizes that everything that she is doing is not worth it because it is not making her happy & it is not even making Zaki happy either. Nida even has noticed the change in Zaki’s behavior, like he doesn’t call her, so in stead of putting the entire blame on Hayat & holding her responsible for Zaki’s attitude, she should analyze things herself because even if Hayat won’t be in the picture, Zaki still wouldn’t be the same like he used to be.

So, Hayat was finding it hard to function ever since she returned from the engagement ceremony, because her heart wasn’t at ease due to the confession that she made. Hayat could also sense that Zaki was trying to put her in an awkward position, more like he was trying to take his revenge that is why she was feeling uncomfortable. At least, it is good that Hayat has stopped running away from the reality & is herself acknowledging the feelings that she has for Zaki but she has put herself in this situation, so there’s nothing that she can do now. Hayat actually thought that her problems will be over once she Zaki & Nida will get engaged but she has no idea what Zaki’s upto!

So, Zaki has assigned himself this new task, where he is now going to do everything to make sure that Hassan & Hayat get hitched too. Yes, Zaki has his reasons & he has an ulterior motive but I really didn’t understand the sudden shift in Hassan’s attitude, like at one hand he is planning to go abroad to pursue his education since he is so focused & on the other, he seems more than ready to start a commitment with Hayat whom he couldn’t even tolerate just a couple of weeks ago? I wish there was a little more insight given to us in regards to Hassan’s feelings towards Hayat because this sudden change in his behavior where he is acting like a teenager in love or a teenager excited with the idea of being with someone is a little hard to grasp. Hassan was always shown as someone who was very focused, rigid & knew what he wanted from his life, so for him to believe a stranger like Zaki & open up to him just so easily that too concerning the matter which is actually quite personal is a bit hard to digest. Zaki’s motives are clear, he just wants Hayat to go through the pain that he went through, which is getting committed to someone who you don’t really love as he knows that Hayat loves him & not Hassan, so we do get that side of the picture clear but Hassan’s side is not only out of focus but a bit too blurry as well!

Well, one thing that I really liked in this episode was the conversation that Haroon had with Azra, about everything regarding Zaki & Nida’s future, like he knows that Nida isn’t made for a joint family system so when she will be herself after marriage, Azra will be the first one to complain, so he already told his wife that he doesn’t want Zaki & Nida to share the home with them because it would only ruin their relationships. Another thing that I liked was how subtly Haroon shared his feelings about Nida’s career, like without putting her down or without saying that he disapproves of her choices, he only put forth what he expected because he knows his son a bit too well & he wants Nida to give Zaki the utmost attention that he needs. I think the writer definitely should be commended here for putting very basic things forth with a different perspective & in the most respectful manner, like he actually showed that this is also a way to go about something, which is commendable.

Overall, this episode was a bit slow but the preview promised some drama, however I will say that I am not actually looking forward to Hassan’s track or his involvement in Hayat’s life because for the first time I feel I can predict that Hayat will be left with no choice than to accept Hassan’s proposal only to further assure Nida that she ain’t snatching Zaki away from her, which is bit too much because I feel Hayat is turning into a sacrificial lamb, which she never was but let’s see. I still am not too keen on Hassan’s character because right now it is becoming a bit evident that he is being used to stretch the drama further, so I wish things get sorted a bit quickly & we get to see the ending that we all are waiting for. Yeh Raha Dil Episode 19 Review – The DJ Stole The Show!

Ohkay so, this episode belonged to the Local DJ & honestly speaking, when he was in the scene, I didn’t concentrate on anything else because I was busy enjoying his lousy singing & I was busy laughing my heart out. I swear, after Zaki Hayat chemistry, this DJ is the best thing that has happened to Yeh Raha Dil & I wish he makes an appearance again when someone else in this drama gets engaged or married.

So, the episode started off with Hayat making sure that everything in Nida’s engagement ceremony was perfect, she allotted a lot of work to Jimmy & also her friend Sidra. I enjoyed the way Jimmy complimented Fatima time & again & she gracefully accepted it because she knew she was looking gorgeous. I actually felt that may be Salman Peerzada couldn’t be on the shoots, that is why they suddenly removed his character from the scene but I was pleasantly surprised when Nida received his phone call. That was one beautiful scene which completed everything, like a father who couldn’t be there was told that he was being missed & even the father took the opportunity to make his girls feel special by complimenting them & giving them his prayers. It was such a sweet scene which I absolutely loved. I also liked seeing Nida & Hayat in one frame acting like typical sisters who were cutting each other off because they were excited to speak to their father, that entire scene was done so effortlessly yet it had so much of the beautiful emotion which father & daughter share that it just made it perfect.

Hassan showed up too & Sidra & Zaki got to have a conversation about everything that Hayat had been lying about. Zaki finally got the confirmation from Sidra that Hayat loves him too but she is too afraid to admit as she doesn’t want to ruin Nida’s life. It was interesting how Zaki once again decided to have a final conversation with Hayat to know what was in her heart. That was another beautiful scene because finally Hayat confessed but she only did to further convince Zaki that he shouldn’t leave Nida only for the sake of Hayat & the love that he has for her. Zaki decided to do what everyone expected from him & finally exchanged the rings with Nida. I thought Zaki will finally come clean in front of everyone but he didn’t & in fact he chose to put Hayat in an awkward position, it showed that Zaki has only gotten engaged to Nida because of Hayat but now he will try to throw every curve-ball at her to get back at her, more like telling her to pay the price for the sake of her sister’s happiness. That confession scene was quite beautiful & I am glad that such an intense scene came after the viewers got their fair share of laughter because of the local DJ.

Now coming to my favorite part of this entire episode, DJ & his take on different songs, my goodness, who would’ve thought that Abbi Khalil of Yakeen Ka Safar could turn into Local DJ in Yeh Raha Dil to make us all laugh out loud. I loved how for a good chunk of episode he was the center of attention & everyone was getting bothered by him. Haroon had an issue with his wrong lyrics, he even believed that Mirza Ghalib would’ve murdered the DJ. Even Fatima was unhappy while Jimmy was dancing to his tunes. Hassan was finding it hard to talk to Hayat because he was getting annoyed by the noise pollution that the DJ spread, my goodness, I seriously enjoyed that entire part so much & for the first few seconds of his performance I was about to spill the water that I just drank because he was hilarious but then I made sure I didn’t drink anything till he was in the picture because I knew what could happen. From his dressing to his dance, to his singing, each & everything was simply perfect!

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode of Yeh Raha Dil & the credit definitely goes to Ehtashamuddin, because when the episode began I was finding it a bit slow but he just changed the entire mood & because of him I literally enjoyed every single second of this episode till it ended. I think Ehtashamuddin deserves a special thanks for this phenomenal guest appearance, so, thank you so much! Well, I must say everyone was looking lovely in this episode especially Anum Gohar. Even though I liked the dress that Hayat was wearing but I wish the stylists had styled her better overall. We all know that Yumna Zaidi doesn’t rely much on makeup or glamour but there’s no harm in carrying oneself in accordance to the occasion once in a while. Nevertheless, both Yumna Zaidi & Ahmed Ali acted brilliantly in that confession scene, their chemistry is undeniable & they make Hayat & Zaki the couple that we root for. I am sure now Zaki is going to play mind games with Hayat & she will find herself facing one challenge after another, let’s see what happens next. Yeh Raha Dil Episode 18 Review – Intelligent Piece of Writing!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was amazing as usual. I loved how the writer gave all these justifications for different scenarios, like without putting any character in a bad light, the writer just explained what they went through in the past. I must say it is a rarity these days for writers to be so intelligent to justify everyone’s actions without giving any reason to the viewers to judge any character. The writer Mustafa Afridi here deserves full marks for giving us such an amazing script in which we’re getting to understand every character & not once we found a chance to develop detest for anyone. The way the pages of the past were turned in this episode made me love this drama even more because whatever happened was in-line with everyone’s character.

So, Hayat decided to take the next step forward & she announced that both Nida & Zaki should get engaged as she wants to get over with this phase as soon as possible because she is tired of feeling guilty & she is also tired of dreading that Zaki might say something to Nida or his family. Hayat is just doing everything like a responsible elder sibling but in the middle of this chaos, she is unable to read Nida & her intentions.

I feel Nida is going overboard, like at one hand she dreads that Zaki might insult her in front of everyone but then on the other, she is going with the flow & is happily pressurizing him to do something which she doesn’t want. For a moment I felt that Nida was only doing everything to get the truth out of Zaki but then I was reminded that he already told her everything, yes he hasn’t told her who he is in love with, but despite knowing everything, Nida is pushing all the wrong buttons. I think Nida should realize that by the end of the day, she will end up hurting herself more, so it’s time for her to pick herself up & move on.

I absolutely loved the backstory of Zaki & Nida, like not that I am a fan of their couple but I am saying I loved how it was revealed in such a convincing manner. I must say the writer should be applauded for keeping all the characters true to their nature from the beginning till this point of the drama because everything, everyone has done so far is completely in sync with their personality & not even a single character has done anything which would’ve made us feel that we were watching a different person altogether. We all were introduced to Zaki as a soft & kind-hearted individual who despite not wanting to would walk an extra mile for anyone, he did the same with Hayat when he was in Nepal because at that point he couldn’t stand Hayat but still he kept on helping her because that’s his nature, so now his niceness was costing him a huge price which Nida was trying to make him pay. I loved how the writer connected everything so seamlessly, because in the very first meeting that Haroon had with Nida, it was mentioned that Zaki once tried his hands on fashion photography, so I was actually pleasantly surprised how that minute detail was put into good use to show that only because of Zaki’s short-lived passion, he crossed paths with Nida.

As the story has progressed, we have seen how Nida is impulsive, controlling but also quite a lonely person that is why she ended up confusing Zaki’s friendship & courtesy as his love. Nida met Zaki when she hit the rock bottom & just because Zaki was being nice to her, basically just because Zaki was being himself, Nida misconstrued it as something else & then formed a relationship based on her own assumptions. I loved loved loved how without putting anyone in a bad light, the writer revealed everything at the right time. I must say I feel the director also deserved full points here for keeping everything so simple & seamless because of which we are able to understand these little intricacies that the writer has added in his script. It is quite intelligent of Mustafa Afridi to tackle a character like Nida in such an amazing way because very easily people would’ve started seeing her as a Negative Nancy but nope, the more we get to see her, the more we get to know that she is like that for a reason & she behaves a certain way for a reason too. Nida imposing her self-assumed relationship on Zaki was so like her & then Zaki accepting Nida’s request was again so like him. It is absolutely amazing how they showed Zaki/Hayat track in Nepal because now when Zaki was explaining everything starting from how he met Nida to how he kept on consoling her & how he continued being courteous towards her, I immediately connected everything & realized that’s how Zaki is as this is exactly how he treated Hayat in Nepal too when he just couldn’t stand her but couldn’t ignore her either, so Nida made the most of this trait of Zaki. Another thing that the writer connected was how Nida is used to guilt-tripping people, she is doing it with Hayat now & she has done that with Zaki in the past as well where she used her emotional fragility as a trap to make Zaki feel the guilt if he ever decided to leave her!

It was actually quite interesting how the writer here drew a thin line & justified Zaki’s feelings for Hayat by showing that even though Zaki treated both the girls the same way, there was a difference because one girl herself started everything & imposed herself on him & the other didn’t do that, that’s why Zaki on his own fell in love with her. Zaki’s love for Hayat was justified even more because all this while we thought that just because Haroon told Zaki that Hayat is compatible with him, Zaki fell in love with her but that isn’t the case anymore, Zaki actually wasn’t in love with Nida in the first place & all this while, there was a place in his heart which was filled with the love that he felt for Hayat, that is why he grew out of the ‘courtesy’ that he had for Nida just so easily.

It was sad that Hayat chose not to believe in Zaki, even though she was moved & touched by what she heard but now that she already has put her mind to it, she is going to make sure to do everything to give her sister what she wants. Seeing Zaki’s condition also reminded me of the conversation that both Nida & Jimmy had about him, where they compared Zaki with Tabrez & said he was gullible. Indeed, Nida knows that Zaki is gullible because he put up with everything that Nida demanded till date, that is why she is keen on not letting him go. I knew that Hayat will eventually use Hassan for this matter & with Hassan trying to be cordial with Hayat, she won’t shy away from asking for such a favor from him as well.

Overall, this episode was one of the best episodes of Yeh Raha Dil & the entire credit goes to the writer for bringing out the past in such a convincing manner which changed everything, like this episode helped the viewers understand the characters even more & it is commendable how till date, not even a single character looks negative or unrealistic. The director & the actors deserve a lot of credit too for doing justice to such a beautiful script. If it’s a Mustafa Afridi drama, you’ll know that quirky dialogues are always going to be a part of every other conversation, so the one that made me laugh out loud was ‘tumhara to baap bhi shadi karega’, ‘oh ho sorry, mere muh se nikal gaya tha’, lol! I loved how Haroon was sympathzing with Zaki all this while because he knows that his son is in a deep trouble & even Haroon can’t do much about it. This episode was amazing & I can’t wait to see the next episode already. Please share your thoughts about this amazing episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 17 Review – Phenomenally Written & Executed!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was amazing and probably depicted the calm before the storm (which the precap promised). I know I have said this time & again & I think I will continue to say till this drama will last, that I actually love watching Yeh Raha Dil because it has been written with such an intelligent perspective and the writer has given so many different shades to all these characters, especially to women, that I have a great time watching every other episode of this drama!

So, before discussing anything else, I would like to talk about Hassan & get him out of the way. Just a moment ago he was judging Hayat & Sidra & the next moment, he was sitting next to Hayat extending his friendship to her. I am not sure if he actually meant it or was just putting up an act to teach Hayat a lesson since he has been irritated by her quite a lot, so I did get a feeling that his intentions weren’t right, like obviously he wouldn’t harm her but his intention didn’t seem as clean as he was posing it to be. Since Hayat has hurt Hassan’s ego a lot & just because is quite eccentric, I don’t think his friendship with Hayat is coming without an ulterior motive. Out of all the characters of Yeh Raha Dil, Hassan is my least favorite like I still haven’t formed a connection with this character plus to see him judging Hayat & putting her down is off-putting to be honest.

I loved the conversation Sidra had with Hayat, like I loved how Sidra made Hayat familiar with Hayat’s true nature. Hayat needed this reminder that Sidra as her friend gave to her saying that she is dignified & self-sufficient, that is why she is still not comfortably relying on her father for financial support, like all the things Sidra said to Hayat about her made so much of sense & it was good to see her friend knowing about her so much. Sidra also made a valid point that Hayat is just letting the emotions get the better of her because in this new found family of hers, there’s still no place for her as everyone in so self-absorbed that no one will walk an extra mile for her. Even though what Sidra said should’ve struck a chord but just because Hayat is too emotional about her family, she is not thinking things through.

I honestly did feel for Nida a lot when Zaki broke up with her but what I loved about that entire scenario was the fact that Nida chose not to cry in front of Zaki, yes she was emotional & yes she was saddened but she still maintained her dignity & didn’t beg Zaki to stay. The way Nida composed herself showed that she has come a long way, she has matured enough with time & she knows how to control her emotions. Even though Nida knew that Zaki was over this relationship & she was mentally prepared for this but still her heart ached because what Zaki said hurt her ego as she knew that Hayat was the reason why he was ditching her.

It was so obvious that just because Nida has read Hayat to the T, just because she knows that Hayat is so emotionally attached to this little family of hers, she was now trying to guilt trip Hayat even more & sadly involved Fatima into this game plan of hers as well. Even though Fatima doesn’t want Nida to ruin her life for the sake of a guy like Zaki who is not in love with her but being her mother she ends up succumbing to her pressures too. Just when Nida came & hugged Hayat I so wished it to be genuine & I actually thought that may be Nida will let go of her grudge against Hayat but nope, she hasn’t come to that point yet because she still believes that it was Hayat who lured Zaki & forced him to get over Nida. As much as I like Fatima’s stance about Zaki where she tells Nida that a guy like him who couldn’t respect her feelings is not worth going through so much of pain for, I so wish that at the time when Nida told Fatima to fool Hayat & help her in guilt-tripping her more, she had backed out.

As usual, Hayat was feeling guilty because she saw her sister suffering & she has genuinely grown closer to Nida. As if it wasn’t enough that Affaq himself gave Hayat the responsibility to take care of the date fixing on his behalf. Hayat will do everything in her might to make it happen as she has not only seen Nida suffering, but she is also feeling anxious as she sees herself as the culprit behind Zaki’s absurdity. Another thing that I enjoyed watching in this episode was Azra’s stand, like usually in our dramas, we get to see mothers being over-emotional about their sons & going to extreme lengths to make their son’s wishes come true but in this case, Azra even though has been introduced as an emotional woman was seen calling spade a spade as she couldn’t fathom Zaki’s thought process & couldn’t really support him in hurting a girl who he was so much in love with just a couple of months ago.

Overall, this episode was phenomenal, like there are always such smallest of details in every other scene, in terms of reactions or expressions that it becomes a treat for you to watch because all these aspects add so much of depth into every other scenario. I love the way the writer has added so much of personality that too with clarity in every single character that I feel I am watching real people on-screen with emotions. I also love the fact that every other woman is strong & empowered in her own way in this drama, like even though Nida is sulking but she is not a damsel in distress, which is refreshing to see. The preview of the next episode promised a lot of drama, where Hayat will push Zaki to the limit & will pressurize him to get engaged to Nida. Hayat is now clearly going in the wrong direction because she is completely ignoring the fact that Zaki will never be able to make Nida happy as he is not in love with her anymore. I must say Anam Gohar took the crown in this episode with her perfect performance, like I can’t emphasize enough on how much she has improved in terms of acting, like after watching her acting in Yeh Raha Dil, I definitely feel she has a bright future ahead. I enjoyed Adnan Jaffar’s & Ayesha Sana’s performances in this episode as well. Yumna Zaidi & Ahmed Ali were great as always. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 16 Review – I’m Floored!

OMG, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was absolute perfection, like it gave me so many beautiful moments that I actually lost count of them. Week after week, I am all praises for this drama & it is absolutely incredible how the team of Yeh Raha Dil has succeeded in achieving these heights, be it in terms of direction, writing, acting or dialogues – everything always hits the spot. While watching this perfect episode, I wished I didn’t have to review this episode because that way I would’ve enjoyed it even more without concentrating much about what needs to be discussed or spoken about. Anyways, long story short, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was love!!!

So, how often do we come across such a sister who wants to do everything to make her younger sister feel at the top of the world? Even though Nida has done everything to guilt-trip Hayat & anything good that Nida says or does come from her heart but then again, is her plan evil? Nope. Is her plan destroying someone’s life? Nope. I really think the writer deserves credit here for bringing in such a unique scenario where if you look at it from the surface, you might think of it as another sister rivalry story but when you magnify into it, you get to see the intricacies. Hayat really understands the gravity of the situation, also, it was quite interesting to see how she was feeling burdened from both the sides, where she can see how happy Nida is, so she doesn’t want anything to happen that might ruin Nida’s happiness. Also, from another side, just because Hayat knows Zaki is not in love with Nida anymore & she is the reason why Zaki is behaving this way, she is feeling guilty. I really enjoyed watching this entire episode of Hayat’s guilt because it was conveyed with so much of clarity & perfection.

I absolutely loved Hayat & Zaki’s conversation at the beach, like it showed that both of them were right in their own accord. Zaki is being transparent with Hayat at least, yes his mistake is that he hasn’t come clean in front of Nida yet but at least he has mustered up enough courage to share the truth with Hayat. Hayat on her own was right where she was trying to convince Zaki to go back to Nida as she is still in love with her. I am sure, even if Hayat would’ve known that Nida was faking this entire sisterly relationship with her, she still wouldn’t have given an edge to Zaki because she is quite dignified. Right now, Hayat might not know about Nida’s true intentions but what she knows is that her sister loves Zaki & that is why she wants to do everything to bring them together. I liked the comfort level that Hayat has developed with Zaki after his confession, like every time he says something on those lines, she just brushes it off her shoulders casually & continued sharing her perspective with him, as if she is trying to make a point that his feelings don’t matter to her because right now she is focused on what Nida wants & what’ll make her happy.

I thoroughly enjoyed the meeting of Hayat, Nida, Zaki & Jimmy. Even though Nida found out that Zaki went to that Dhabba with Hayat before but she ignored it. I think it is quite smart of Nida to be quite cautious, where she is being extra careful to not do anything that might give Zaki any reason to say what’s on his mind out loud. Nida could sense that Zaki might finally let the cat out of the bag but she didn’t allow that to happen. I think this showed another cute side of Zaki where he was now trying to tell Hayat that he likes everything that she likes, like this is usually what happens when you’re in love, you try to adapt to all those things that your beloved enjoys. Jimmy & Nida were exactly reacting how Zaki reacted when Hayat brought him to this Dhabba but now he was trying to show Hayat that he enjoys everything that she likes, which was cute.

Oh well, shall we talk about that ‘I love you’, I seriously don’t remember the last time I saw a confession this beautiful. Hayat was furious, Zaki was trying to calm her down & just when he hurt her, Hayat let go of her anger because she genuinely felt bad for hurting him & that’s when Zaki turned it into an opportunity to confess his love to her. Zaki’s tears, Hayat’s speechlessness & then Hayat’s attempt of ignoring what she just heard & Zaki’s pain when Hayat didn’t reciprocate his feelings, everything was done so subtly but just so beautifully. Both Ahmed Ali & Yumna Zaidi gave their 100% & their chemistry as Zaki & Hayat is just incredible. Haye! Such a beautiful scene, which I am going to watch again after completing this review, haha!

Well, even though this episode had so many amazing dialogues but I always enjoy the ones that Haroon has in store for us always. I loved how he was teasing Zaki because he knew he was already in a difficult situation. ‘Ishq-e-Mazaji appko Ishq-e-Haqeeqi ki taraf le gaya hai’, ‘tum apne appko shayad Allah ki rah mai waqf karne walay ho’, lol, Haroon tried to push Zaki to the limit in order to motivate him to do the right thing. It was amazing how Haroon was all praises for Hayat because he knew that she is a tough cookie to crack & she is giving Zaki a run for his money. I found it sweet how Haroon actually prayed for Hayat to accept Zaki’s feelings because he sees her as a better partner for Zaki than in comparison to Nida.

Overall, this episode was incredible & beautiful, it was filled with such amazing moments that I thorougly enjoyed watching it. Another aspect that I enjoyed the most was how they shed a light on a relationship that Nida & Hayat are sharing, like even though Nida is faking it but it is good to see them spending time & developing understanding with each other because this way, Nida will actually realize that Hayat is not into Zaki & she never initiated anything. Even though Jimmy did side with Hayat but Nida chose to overlook what he said as she chooses not to trust Hayat at this point. The writer added another dimension to Hayat’s thought process by showing a session that she had with her student because Hayat immediately put herself & Nida in the similar situation, it’s like that student helped Hayat to understand Nida’s perspective even more because she could see how heart-broken Nida would be if Zaki will ditch her citing his love for Hayat as a reason. The level of writing of this drama is phenomenal & I love how effortlessly Mustafa Afridi has penned out such intricacies of these type of relationships. The director has done full justice to the script & the amount of hard work that has gone into keeping things simple & straight forward goes to show his grip on the story. All the actors once again nailed their characters in this episode but special crown goes to Ahmed Ali & also Yumna Zaidi for acting that ‘I love you’ scene beautifully. Yumna looked beautiful & Ahmed like Hayat said looked like a pakka filmy hero. The preview of the next episode obviously promised a lot of drama because looks like Zaki will take Haroon’s words seriously & take the second step forward. Oh yes, I think I enjoy the male version of the OST more in comparison to the female version, so let’s hope they don’t use the latter one more often. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 15 Review – Characters With Personality!

Ohkay so, yet another interesting episode of Yeh Raha Dil. I love the fact that the writer has given all these characters so much of personality & what’s even more appreciable is the fact that all the characters have stayed true to their personalities till date, like in a lot of dramas we see characters acting completely unlike themselves, that shows the loss of grip in the story from the writer’s end but that is not the case here, which makes it even more easy to understand the characters & relate to what they are going through!

Even though this was for the first time they actually took us in Nida’s past to show what she has been through & this was the first time we got to know why she is behaving a certain way when it comes to Zaki but what is definitely commendable is the fact that despite knowing Nida’s intentions & even before knowing what she has been through, I never saw her as evil. I always knew that Nida has gone through a lot & there’s a reason why she acts this way but to get to see how she was mistreated made me feel for her a lot. Her ex-boyfriend Tabrez obviously was a control freak or may be he was insecure about himself that is why he wanted Nida to abide by his rules to boost his ego, but when that didn’t happen, he took no time in ditching Nida. To see Nida being at her weakest, submissive self in that relationship did solve the entire puzzle where I got to know why she was being this way when it came to Zaki. Even though Nida knows that Zaki is not into this relationship anymore but just because she has suffered a heartbreak that too where the guy rejected her, she is adamant that she is not going to let that happen to herself again. The scene where Nida walked with the ramp with tears on her face showed that her success came with a lot of emotional baggage. Seeing Nida literally begging Tabrez showed another side of her where she was emotionally invested in a relationship quite a lot at that, like it shed a light on the fact that Nida was capable of loving selflessly too but just because of one bad & bitter past experience, she erected her guards in such a way where she has vowed to herself that she would never allow anyone to treat her the way Tabrez did & sadly, Zaki is facing the brunt now.

Hayat seems to be at a happy place & for the first time I saw how Nida’s plan was working. Hayat was counting all her blessings & thinking about how her family members were filling up her life with so much of love & this is exactly what Nida wants. Nida knows that Hayat being an emotional girl that she is, after getting everything in the form of her family would never ever do anything to hurt anyone, especially Nida because she has taken the crown of being the one who brought everyone together, so her plan is working perfectly. Even though the plan is not harming anyone, like Hayat is at a happy place, Nida is feeling secure but yes, the one who is going to suffer rather already is suffering is Zaki.

Well, as expected Azra, since she has always been shown as an emotional woman, couldn’t take Zaki’s no for an answer. Even though I liked how Azra was being considerate of Nida’s feelings, like that is what Haroon has done too but then again, she was literally emotionally blackmailing Zaki into marrying Nida. Yes, Azra did have a valid point that Zaki’s refusal will create a rift between the sisters but then she was still more concerned about Nida in stead of being concerned about Zaki’s feelings.

While watching this episode, I was actually thinking that Zaki should take a stand now because there’s a thin line in being soft-hearted or being a bechara, so I was literally dreading that Zaki might go into the ‘bechara’ lane where he will stay silent wishing for Nida to do the heavy-lifting by backing out & this is something that shouldn’t happen like I don’t want to see. Zaki can stay soft-hearted all that he wants, but he should also take responsibility for his own actions. I was actually dreading that Zaki might turn into another Harib (of Sanam) but fortunately he decided to speak up, first in front of his mother & then in front of Jimmy. At least that’s enough of a first step, yes everyone has told him already about how Nida would feel, that is why he is being a bit cautious & hesitant but then again, it is good to see that he has made up his mind & is now working on fixing things & doing what is right. So, it’s all good.

Overall, this episode was amazing, filled with some very nice moments & some funny ones too. I love the one-liners that Haroon often says like he certainly puts things into perspective, always says what we’re feeling that too in such a way that it strikes the chord. I enjoyed how Haroon was advocating Zaki while still trying to calm Azra down as he knew she was furious. Anum Gohar definitely took the crown in this episode, like I thoroughly enjoyed her performance in all the scenes, especially in the flashback where Nida is pleading her case in front of Tabrez. I haven’t said that before but now that Hayat is under Nida’s supervision, I really wish the stylists show a little change in her dressing & overall styling, yes it does suit her care-free, young teacher, writer sort of a personality but sometimes her dressing is way too quirky. It was good to see Hayat sharing beautiful moments with her family where they were making her feel special, like after living alone for such a long time with a sick mother, Hayat surely deserves this royal treatment. Ahmed Ali & Yumna Zaidi were great in this episode as well. I loved the dialogues & I love how all the situations are unfolding. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 14 Review – Makes Me Happy!

Ohkay so, first off, you guys need to have a goofy smile on your face, that’s a pre-requisite for watching & enjoying this drama because without it, you won’t be able to take this sweetest drama as it comes. I love how every single episode gives me so many reasons to smile. Every single scenario, every single conversation, every thing just fits so perfectly & shows how everything is just right rather perfect in this drama. For someone like me who is a huge fan of romantic comedies, Yeh Raha Dil is a treat to watch & I am so happy! :)

So, Jimmy revealed everything to Nida & they both devised a plan to stop Zaki from ditching her. I will say that I liked Nida’s approach where she spoke to her father & just decided to go with the flow as she wants to be around Affaq, Hayat & especially Zaki. It was quite interesting how Nida in stead of creating a fuss about what she heard, decided to play a mind game with everyone around. However, does this make Nida evil? The answer is a clear cut no because it only makes Nida a bit insecure & jealous which are such emotions that everyone at certain point in their lives do experience. I think it shows the insight of the writer where he tried to show that things can be tackled in a certain way too. I will speak a little more about Nida in the ending part of my review.

Oooooh, so we finally got to know that Zaki succeeded in pulling Hayat’s heartstrings & that is why she was emotionally disturbed as for the first time in her life, she was forcing herself to do something which she doesn’t want to, which was pushing Zaki away. May be this is the first time that a guy like Zaki, who is so considerate has confessed love to her & also because she is so comfortable around him that she feels attracted to him but just because she knows there’s Nida in between, she has to stop herself from growing closer to him. I loved that entire scene where Hayat just cried everything out without saying a word to her friend because she doesn’t want to disclose this secret to anyone right now. At least it is good to know that Hayat has started thinking on those lines too but right now, she is stopping herself & rightly so.

I loved Haroon & Zaki’s conversation. I think more than Zaki or even more than Hayat, it was Haroon who was happy that Hayat was going to get Hayat House back. I loved how he encouraged Zaki to go & propose to Hayat because he knew that she’d be on cloud 9 so she might accept his proposal. Haroon not only told Zaki to approach Hayat but he also directed his focus towards his own feelings because Haroon knows Zaki is still a little confused or even if he has made up his mind, being a soft-hearted person, he will never be able to reject Nida easily. At least Haroon knows that his son needs some guidance, encouragement & support in order to make the right choice, that is why he is being persistent. In the initial episodes, we only got to see Haroon as a father who didn’t have much faith in his son but who would’ve thought that as the episodes will pass by, we all will end up enjoying Haroon’s character so much because he is such a perfect father.

So, Hayat got all the surprises in one day & her reaction was obviously quite natural where she was unable to absorb everything that was happening. It was quite sweet how Zaki was there to celebrate such a big day in Hayat’s life & what was even more important was that the moment Hayat felt uncomfortable, she reached out to Zaki to just share what she was feeling. Even though I don’t have any issues but I really wish the writer shows that Affaq is not too naive to be falling prey to both Nida & Fatima’s planning, especially Fatima’s since he knows that before coming to Pakistan, she wanted to get divorced, so at least he should be intelligent enough to read between the lines as to what is it that is stopping Fatima from leaving Pakistan & delaying the divorce. Also, I hope if not anyone else, at least Haroon is able to decipher Nida’s ulterior motives & at least he is able to warn Zaki to beware.

Well, to be honest, I think Nida will end up changing after she will get attention & love from Hayat. I think the writer deliberately revealed a little but important detail about Nida that she spent a chunk of her life in a hostel, where she felt alone & isolated, so this is the reason why she has become so cold & distant that she doesn’t get emotional a bit too easily especially when it comes to her family members. It also showed that Nida yearned & longed for a companionship which she couldn’t get so may be now that she will stick with Hayat for a completely different reason, she will end up changing her perspective because of the attention that she’ll get & also because of the sisterly bond that she will share with Hayat. Hayat has such a nature where Nida won’t be able to fool her or have ill feelings towards her for so long & this will change her entire personality for the better. I have this sort of a feeling because Nida throughout the story has showcased this trait of hers a lot of times where she does get affected emotionally at times & also that she is not a completely evil person, so I am sure she will change & will feel ashamed that she was trying to fool Hayat & frame Zaki.

I did pick on a little detail which I think was added by the writer to bring it to our & Hayat’s attention which was the Principal’s mention of her mother’s rift with Affaq. When she saw that Hayat was a little shattered, she tried to talk her into forgiving Affaq & told her not to think too much about what transpired between her parents, which actually did suggest that she knew a little more about the divorce that took place between them & most importantly why? Also, seeing how affectionate Affaq is, how easy-going he is as a person & also after seeing Hayat’s mother, I am not too sure why she seemed a little unusual to me, like I don’t know how to explain because even though they have shown her near the end of her life but I feel she was the one who had issues in this marriage & not Affaq. I don’t want to give Affaq a clean chit & I am definitely not giving him one because he is walking an extra mile for Hayat that too after 20 years especially when he stumbled across her by chance, but somehow I feel he wasn’t at fault as much as Hayat’s mother was. I remember even Affaq hinted about not wanting to delve into the details from the past as he didn’t want to ruin the memories Hayat had of her mother & tarnish the reputation of the deceased but still, I am sure there’s more to their divorce that hasn’t been revealed but has been touched upon slightly to stir some curiosity & it surely has worked!

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode because it was filled with so many flavors, there were emotional moments, there were fun moments, some interesting conversations, some meaningful ones, like it just had everything! Things are looking good for Hayat but are a bit shaky for Zaki as he hasn’t been able to speak to Nida & I am sure seeing how Nida is busy being a part of one small happy family, Zaki will be even more hesitant as he wouldn’t want to ruin these moments for her. Nida’s plan is definitely working at the moment so let’s see when & where will she stop. Still not feeling Hassan’s character & honestly speaking, every time he comes into the picture I feel like forwarding his scenes, may be as the preview suggested, he will loosen up a bit as Hayat will try to befriend him but still, not too impressed with him. All the actors like I always say did a wonderful job. I will definitely say that the way the director has kept things easy & casual in this drama gives it a very nice & warm feel, like you can relate to these characters & understand them because they seem genuine. Last but definitely not the least, the captain of the ship; Mustafa Afridi deserves special appreciation for another perfect episode. It is amazing how he has added so many minute details that give us an entirely different perspective & effortlessly force us to read between the lines. I can’t emphasize enough how everything about this drama is simply amazing. Please share your thoughts about this beautiful episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 13 Review – Beautiful!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was a bit on the serious & slower side but I still had a great time watching it, because the writer has balanced it out by evolving the characters in such a way that we want to see more of them. The director has given each & every character an equal coverage which makes it a complete package. I like how with each passing episode we get to know more & more about the characters, like what they’re thinking about & what they’re going through, that is why their conversations are so important to be paid attention to because they put things into perspective. I love how Yeh Raha Dil has turned into a wholesome package, a complete family entertainment which just has such a good feel to it. I also like how it has both good & not teensy tiny bit so good characters because everything balances out & makes things even more interesting!

I will be completely honest, I still am not feeling the character of Hassan, like I do get that he is a very rigid, focused & serious sort of a person but yes, I enjoy his scenes because in them, we get to see the lighter more bubbly side of Hayat as she keeps on pestering him, in an attempt to make him understand that he has no escape from this & they all should try to co-exist. Other than that, when it comes to his character, I find him boring. I enjoyed how Hayat & Sidra kept on pushing all the wrong buttons because they knew it will rile Hassan up a bit more & that completely worked. Too bad that Hassan’s complaint didn’t make any difference & had zero affect on Hayat because she continued to do what she is good at, that was bothering him.

So, Fatima tried to make her daughter Nida understand that everything that Affaq was doing was seemingly for her but deep down, it was a plan that he was devising for Hayat to give her what was entitled to. Nida once again spoke about loving Zaki but she herself doesn’t understand if she is still in love or she just wants to steal him away from Hayat, since has has grown so insecure of her all of a sudden. I must say, I liked Affaq’s subtle approach for the first time, like he was taking care of his daughter Nida before anything else so that later he could ask for a favor from her. It showed that Affaq was trying really hard to be fair & just in dealing with both of his daughters, like even though his ulterior motive was to make Hayat happy but first, he wanted to take care of Nida so that she doesn’t feel unvalued or neglected. Fatima actually ruined Affaq’s plan because Nida might be naive, but Fatima isn’t & she knew exactly why Affaq was doing so much for Nida as he was actually planning to return everything to Hayat that belonged to her.

So, Hayat & Zaki finally got to have a serious conversation for the first time after Zaki opened up about what was in his heart. Zaki clearly told Hayat that he wasn’t interested in getting married to Nida anymore but I loved loved loved how Hayat put things into perspective for him. It isn’t like Hayat is playing hard to get or something, but she genuinely feels Zaki should get married to Nida because he was in love with her just a few days ago. Also, Hayat doesn’t want this friendship that they both share to be ruined, so for Nida’s sake & also for her friendship’s sake, which actually is very important to her, she told Zaki to think things through. I love how Hayat hasn’t reciprocated Zaki’s feelings, even though this is what I want to see happening eventually, but for now it puts Hayat in a very positive light that not even for once she has considered snatching Zaki away even after learning that he is not into Nida anymore & he has clearly fallen in love with her.

I think Zaki made a huge blunder by talking to Jimmy about Nida. I think Zaki should’ve taken responsibility for his feelings, like after Hayat told him to fix his scattered brain & feelings, he decided to take the matters in his hands but ended up approaching the wrong person. I do understand like I find it natural that since Zaki is so sensitive himself, he couldn’t hurt Nida by telling all this to her directly that is why he relied on Jimmy but it didn’t work. Even though Zaki did ask Jimmy to forget all of this, he is naive to not know that Jimmy will make the most of this situation.

I liked the preview of the next episode too where Nida will be making some moves to earn brownie points in front of Haroon, Affaq & even Zaki, like she will be playing mind-games with Zaki when he’ll be oblivious of the fact that Nida knows what he spoke to Jimmy about. I must say I love Ayesha Sana as Fatima in this drama, like she is so much fun, I just love how she rolls her eyes & emphasizes on smallest of details to put her message across. I also find it quite cute how Nida/Anam is always dolled up. The guy playing the role of Hassan is quite weak in acting, like even his dialogue delivery was poor & not that it makes much of a difference but since he had a lot of English words in his dialogues, he made it very obvious that he was finding it hard to say those words, so far he is the weakest link in terms of acting. I liked Ahmed Ali’s expressions in scene before he spoke to Jimmy, like it showed that he made a final decision & he was ready to convey it, those were minute but very clear expressions there! Yumna Zaidi as always was effortless & amazing. I missed Haroon’s scene or two though. Thank you so much Team Yeh Raha Dil for such a beautiful, feel good & beautiful beautiful beautiful drama, can’t emphasize enough. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 12 – A Breath of Fresh Air!

Ohkay so, this was such a nice episode of Yeh Raha Dil filled with so many beautiful & emotional moments. I am loving the emotional ride that Hayat’s life has turned out to be but what makes me love her character even more is the fact that the bechari factor hasn’t crept in till date & it seems highly unlikely for it to happen, which makes me sigh with relief. With each passing episode, we get more & more chances to fall in love with the characters because the writer has made sure to give clarity to their thoughts, because of which you understand their feelings & their struggles.

So, Affaq is trying his level best to mend ways with Hayat because he knows she is not in a mood to give him an edge. However, Hayat did show a few little signs to Affaq which did highlight the fact that she was alright with the idea of having him around, that why despite saying no, she budged & accepted his requests of giving some time to him out of her busy schedule. Even though Affaq is trying hard to break the ice but Hayat is dodging the bullet, however, it was good to see her sharing some emotional moments with him like visiting her mother’s grave & listening to his philosophy of how he wants to improve as a human being & wants to fix things. I am sure Affaq doesn’t want to throw a curveball yet but once he will learn that Hayat has grown comfortable with him, he will definitely let her know that he wants to buy Hayat House for her as he is not too happy with the situation she is currently facing.

I love Hayat’s attitude, like she steals little moments out of her life to make herself smile. The way she pestered Hassan Sir & then tried to come to peace with him was cute, like she knows she has stuffed up & has made a mistake but it still didn’t stop her from trying to fix the damage. Hassan didn’t get much coverage which I didn’t mind because I am not too sure what to make of his character as of now considering how reserved and uptight he is. It is good to see Hayat getting back on track where she has made herself capable enough to make a living for herself again, even though she is not too happy with the changes that have been made for her but still she is taking care of herself on her own!

That was another beautiful conversation that happened between Haroon & Zaki. I think it goes to show what a gentleman Haroon himself is & what sort of expectations he has from his son where he doesn’t want him to wrong anyone. Haroon is aware of the fact that Zaki has developed feelings for Hayat but still he wanted Zaki to be mindful of the fact that Nida will be hurt in the middle of this, which was something that Haroon will never approve of. It would’ve been so easy for Haroon to encourage Zaki to ditch Nida considering how even he thinks she is not suitable for Zaki but he didn’t do that. Also, another thing that makes me respect Haroon’s character a bit more is the fact that he has never once said bad thing about Nida, even though it is obvious that he is not too fond of her personality but still, he has always made a point about Zaki’s shortcomings & has believed that Nida must be a nice person but she is not compatible with Zaki. How many parents think like that, in our dramas I am saying? All these conversations are so refreshing to hear where no girl is being targeted for no good reason & in fact everyone around them is seen reasoning decently as they have a completely different perspective.

So, like I discussed last week, looks like Nida is not into Zaki as much as she is into the idea of defeating Hayat because she can not come to terms with the fact that Zaki can leave her for a girl like Hayat. It goes to show that Nida never really understood what the meaning of true love is because for her Zaki is just a possession that she wants to keep to herself. For a change, it was soooooo good to hear a woman not ripping another woman apart, like Nida’s mother Fatima didn’t hold Hayat responsible for what Zaki was feeling for her, otherwise in our dramas it doesn’t even take a second for a mother of any character to shame another girl for being the culprit. Even though I didn’t expect such wisdom from Fatima but it goes to show that she is putting her experience to good use & that is why she wants to knock some sense into Nida that if Zaki is not into her anymore, it is not because of Hayat, but because of Zaki himself. It didn’t come as a surprise to me when Nida said that if it would’ve been someone else, she wouldn’t have created a fuss but just because it is Hayat, she wants to battle it out!

So, finally Hayat & Zaki decided to break the ice, it was such a cute moment where all of a sudden they went from being awkward to super comfortable with each other where they got back to their old self bickering their hearts out with each other. Hayat finally decided to rely on Zaki & just because she deemed fit, she turned him into a landlord, which he technically is, therefore according to her, he should be the one taking care of Hayat’s necessities as she is the tenant. This was much needed because I was missing their conversations & I smiled throughout that entire scene because it was perfect, in terms of acting, dialogues & direction! We finally have Hayat & Zaki back together & I can’t wait to see more.

Overall, I loved this episode as well. I will thank Mustafa Afridi personally for adding such refreshing touches to this script where no female is being torn apart or is being shamed for being a female. Haroon never badmouths Nida & even Fatima despite feeling for her daughter didn’t blame Hayat for anything unnecessarily. Even though Fatima has all the more reasons to be against Hayat considering how she is Affaq’s daughter from his first marriage & how she can also be entitled to Affaq’s wealth & property but still, Fatima kept everything aside & kept it strictly about Zaki’s emotional attachment towards her. I think we need more writers like these who despite bringing in such scenarios present a completely different perspective. I was tuned to this episode through HUM’s live streaming & I don’t know which drama’s promo it was, like I wasn’t bothered to pick on the detail but I heard a girl saying this dialogue ‘paida hote hi maar kyu nahi diya mujhe’ & while I was cringing so hard, all of a sudden I got to hear such conversations in Yeh Raha Dil, which made me happy that we have writers like Mustafa Afridi in our industry, who are proving that no girl should feel ‘paida hote hi maar kyu nahi diya mujhe’. Anyways, Anum Gohar, Yumna Zaidi, Arjumand Azhar Hussain & Ayesha Sana, all of them have done such a commendable job. However, Yumna & Ahmed take the crown, especially for acting out the last scene of the episode so brilliantly & effortlessly that too with such perfect timing. Well done guys! Yeh Raha Dil Episode 11 Review – So Far So Good!

Ohkay so, even though this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was all over the place but I say that in a good way, like I liked this episode for the fact that they didn’t just make it all about Zaki & Hayat’s feelings for each other but in stead shifted the focus on a lot of different things & the situations that the characters were going through. I liked how they showed that everyone was busy in their own paths now & everyone was trying to do something for themselves. Despite being a bit slow, this episode still worked for me as there are quite a lot of characters so to see their tracks unfold was still interesting.

Affaq was trying to pick up the pieces, seeing his current wife being interested in someone made him realize that his decision of getting married to her was wrong as she was never interested in him as a person. Affaq also visited his parent’s graves because it looks like now that he is back, he is trying to connect to his roots, his people & all those that he left behind in the pursuit or establishing his business & financially stabilizing himself. Affaq is so over this marriage because he knows that his wife can walk out on him any minute, so keeping that aside & despite being hurt, he is now focusing more on Hayat as to how he can help her & help redeem himself in front of his eldest daughter.

Nida continued to be unreasonable, because now it looks like Zaki has become Nida’s obsession, her zidd, probably because this thing is hurting her ego that Zaki can leave her for someone like Hayat who is completely different from her. I think more than being interested in Zaki, Nida is more interested in defeating Hayat because she can not see Hayat getting what belongs or belonged to her. Well, as much as I didn’t expect Jimmy to give Nida some sensible advice but he took me by surprise when he talked Nida out of harming Hayat & told her to win Zaki & his family over with love. It was quite amusing how he suggested Nida to impress Azra by gifting her a lot of clothes, as he thought this would melt Azra’s heart away.

So, Hayat got a call from the school where she will get back to her old job but looks like she has a competitor there already. I found it quite interesting & amusing that Hayat once again met a guy & ended up leaving a bad first impression on him. Hassan seems like a very straight forward & simple sort of a person who is dedicated towards his job & since he has worked so hard, he already has made a name for himself but Hayat couldn’t really absorb it & ended up calling him an idiot. The entire conversation between Hayat & Hassan that revolved around the word ‘idiot’ was funny & the timing of both the actors was perfect. The way Hassan was irritated by Hayat reminded me so much of Zaki because this is exactly the impression that Hayat left on him too, which then compelled me to think that we might have a love triangle on our way but to be honest, seeing how light-hearted & fun this drama is, I most certainly don’t mind!

So, Affaq wants to help Hayat & it is so good that even he knows how dignified & self-sufficient Hayat is that she won’t accept his token of sympathy, that is why he is forced to find ways to help his daughter stealthily & indirectly. I love Hayat’s character for the fact that despite having Affaq back in her life & despite knowing that he wants to redeem himself, she never once thought of relying on him or asking for any favors. It definitely feels good to see a character like Hayat on our screen who believes she can sort the mess of her life by herself & doesn’t sob over it in front of people to seek sympathy from.

Zaki can’t get Hayat out of his mind & may be that’s why he has started maintaining some sort of distance from Nida. Zaki didn’t even have a conversation with Nida but she was the one who was looking desperate to make things work like planning her wedding with Azra. Honestly speaking, just yesterday I was thinking to myself that in our dramas, they do introduce the characters & hint about their careers in the initial episodes but later they forget everything about it, so I was pleasantly surprised to see them showing Zaki back in his culinary school & Hayat back to her counselling job as well as her writing, like it is good to see that our characters have a life other than standing in the porch of their homes or sitting in their TV lounges, having a conversation with one another, like this sort of detailing adds some realism to the drama!

Overall, this episode was interesting but a bit slow, but what uplifted my mood was the preview of the next episode because looks like there will be a conversation between Haroon & Zaki about Hayat once again & I am looking forward to that. I think Nida’s mother will try to knock some sense into Nida’s head too, which is much needed at this stage. I also want to see what Hassan has to offer & how he will change the dynamics of the story. All the actors did a wonderful job & the new addition in the form of Hassan is interesting too. I always have a big smile on my face whenever I am watching Hayat or even Zaki, like Yumna Zaidi & Ahmed Ali have done a phenomenal job, have not only nailed these characters but made this drama a treat to watch as well. Yeh Raha Dil Episode 10 Review – Utterly Sweet!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was absolutely amazing. I love how the human emotions have been conveyed in this drama that too with so much of clarity, like you actually understand what each & every character is going through. I think this is the strength of Mustafa Afridi & shows his intelligence as a writer where he gives so much of personality to his characters & adds so much of an insight that the viewers not only form a connection with them but understand them easily as well. It is amazing how the drama that started off on such a simple note has become so interesting that I find myself waiting for Mondays these days because of Yeh Raha Dil!

I don’t think I can praise the character of Haroon enough. I actually enjoy his ways where he always makes sure to convey what he wants without imposing his ideas on people. Haroon told his wife that for Zaki he found a better partner in Hayat than Nida & if Zaki will ever speak about it, he wouldn’t oppose the idea. Even though both Haroon & Azra want what is best for their son Zaki but what sets Haroon apart from Azra is that he analyzes the situation & makes sure to convey to his son what is better for him & what isn’t like a true well wisher, whereas Azra only believes in fulfilling his desires even if they aren’t fruitful for him. Both the parents have different ways of loving & caring for their son but in this case, I truly believe that Haroon has an upper-hand because he always wants to save his son from any such thing that he might regret later in life, which in this case could be his decision of marrying Nida.

So, obviously at first Zaki was taken aback by his father’s sudden mention of Hayat & he even tried to avoid that conversation but then when he gave it a little thought, he decided to continue that conversation with his father because he wanted a little more guidance, support & clarity. Even though Zaki did say that he loved Nida but may be because he saw that his father wasn’t actually ready to oblige & he wasn’t thrilled with the idea, he put up an entire act to show that he couldn’t live without Nida, exactly like a child with a reverse psychology who believes in doing what he is being told not to. However, ever since Zaki has gotten to know Hayat, at the back of his mind, he had these budding feelings for Hayat which he wasn’t aware of but now hearing about her from Haroon gave him nudge to think on those lines. I absolutely enjoyed the conversation that Zaki had with Haroon where in very easy words, his father made him understand how life was going to give him numerous options but the best option would be where his heart will come into the picture & will guide him to go for it!

I must say, the change in Zaki’s behavior with Hayat after his conversation with Haroon was quite sweet, like even though on his own he was always supportive & caring towards Hayat but this time around, it was something else. Yes, the change in Zaki might make one feel as if he doesn’t have a mind of his own but that’s not the case here because even before he had this conversation with Haroon, Zaki seemed emotionally attached to Hayat & quite a lot at that, but it’s just that getting a green signal from his father made things easier for him. So, Hayat was all busy in her thoughts when Zaki showed up, I absolutely love how Zaki makes Hayat feel that he is all ears to her problems because of which Hayat immediately starts discussing everything with him that is on her mind.

I must say, after Wali & Farah (Diyar-e-Dil) & Hammad & Imaan (Khuda Aur Mohabbat), Zaki & Hayat’s little interaction where Zaki hinted about his feelings to her made me feel that this is how beautifully & innocently romance should be elaborated on our screens. The chemistry, the ambiance & little gesture of assurance from Zaki’s side to tell Hayat that he was going to be there for her & he wanted her was absolutely magical. What made it even more special was that Hayat immediately understood what he was trying to say & Zaki, without saying much said it all but then Hayat obviously had to remind Zaki that he was involved with someone else & that someone else was Hayat’s sister. The usage of the OST in that entire scenario & the scenes that followed was spot on because the lyrics perfectly fitted the situation that both Zaki & Hayat were facing.

I just loved how effortlessly Hayat brought herself out of that situation but even she was affected by it because all of a sudden she reminded herself that if she was deducing Zaki’s intentions accurately, then she will land herself in deep deep trouble & this wasn’t something that she could afford at this stage in her life. Zaki & Hayat’s hesitance was portrayed really well too where later when they met, they tried to be very normal while still feeling a little pressurized by the interaction that they had. I just loved watching all these minute details in this episode because it added so much of depth & charm in the entire situation & what made it even better was how aesthetically everything was done.

I actually had a good laugh when Zaki had this expression on his face when he received a phone call from Nida, it was like he was so done with her & her questions but was just putting up with her because he obviously knows he can not end things all of a sudden especially when he feels burdened thinking what Nida must’ve gone through because of her father’s heart-attack. Even though all this while I have always said that Nida is honest & has no filters but hearing her thoughts about being dependent on Zaki made her seem a little too emotionally detached. Even Nida herself isn’t really sure if she loves Zaki or if she loves the idea of the life that she will have with a guy like him. Nida has always said that she loves him but whenever she had to show it, she couldn’t prove her love, may be that’s why Haroon has never wholeheartedly accepted her as Zaki’s better half because even he can see her shortcomings.

Another thing that I actually like is how the writer has balanced out Haroon’s character like before even noticing or speaking about Nida’s shortcomings, he spoke about all the flaws that his son Zaki had, which makes him a very wise & fair person. Even after Affaq told Haroon that he should sell Hayat House to him for Hayat, despite not being a fan of Nida’s personality, Haroon didn’t go ahead with it & told Affaq that he should convince Nida first as he saw how happy she was after getting this house as a gift & also how she considered it as her own now. It showed that Haroon just didn’t see Nida as a perfect life partner for his son Zaki & apart from that he had no ill feelings towards Nida, rather he respected her wishes & her feelings like a true gentleman.

So, I know, what Nida did & said at the end of the episode was basically an attempt by the writer to put her in a bad light, only to later justify Zaki & Hayat’s relationship but I think more than that, the writer relied on it to make Zaki turn against her because even though chances are slim that something like that would happen, he will eventually find out what Nida was trying to do & will call everything with her quits. I thought Nida believed in keeping her feelings to herself & yes, she actually does but then it makes it seen even more realistic that Nida kept her feelings bottled up for such a long time but now when she lost her cool she pushed herself to such an extreme where she has even lost the ability to think straight. It was good to see Jimmy back in the picture & looks like he will try to help Nida in keeping her relationship intact. I think after this episode, the notion about Nida being immature has been invalidated because if she was immature, she would’ve never sensed the change in Zaki’s attitude & she also wouldn’t have sensed something odd in Hayat & Zaki’s bonding as well.

Overall, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was perfect & I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, like I had this smile on my face whenever Hayat & Zaki were on screen together. The chemistry between Hayat & Zaki was portrayed subtly yet perfectly by Yumna Zaidi & Ahmed Ali, like they both are such strong actors & it was a treat to watch them, especially in this episode. Anum Gohar has improved so much & her acting keeps on getting better & better with each passing episode. Arjumand Azhar Hussain as Haroon has really added so much of grace in this drama. The writer Mustafa Afridi has done it once again & he has given us another beautiful play. The director Siraj Ul Haq has done justice to such a beautiful script & has directed the drama phenomenally, especially by keeping things so simple & effortless, because it actually shows how his input made things easier for the actors & how it helped them own their characters. Everything about this drama is on-fleek. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 09 Review – A Treat To Watch!

Ohkay so, another week, another beautiful episode of Yeh Raha Dil. Even though the factor of comedy has completely subsided in this drama for now but I am actually quite amazed how those initial episodes & that comedy quotient helped the viewers in forming a relationship with the characters because now when they are going through a hard-time, we feel for them. This episode was emotional & everything was done in a right manner. I can’t emphasize enough on how beautiful this drama is & how amazing all the characters are because we can relate to them & their struggles. The team of Yeh Raha Dil has surely brought us a beautiful drama & we highly appreciate it.

So, Hayat got to have a word with Affaq only because Zaki convinced her. Even though Zaki never imagined this would happen but he has gotten involved with Hayat & her struggles to such a level where he deems it as his duty to help her when she needs it & guide her when he thinks she is lost. I am sure if it wasn’t for Zaki, Hayat would have never had a conversation with Affaq. So, finally, Hayat decided to come clean & let her father know of all the pain that he has caused to her & her mother for so many years. Hayat’s claim that 20 years of gap couldn’t be curbed in a 20 minute long meeting was spot on, it just showed that she had no space for him in her life because when she actually needed him, he was nowhere to be seen. Even though Affaq tried to reason with Hayat but he knew that it would be difficult because she believes in her mother’s side of the story. I am sure there would be more to Affaq & Hayat’s mother’s divorce but for now, Hayat seems justified in everything that she feels for her father as she doesn’t have any emotional connection with him. Affaq did try to hint that may be it was Hayat’s mother who had problems & may be she was the one who wanted a divorce but then he chose not to say a word as he could see that Hayat was not only furious but she was also not in a mood to give him a chance to explain himself. Hayat is someone who has seen her mother suffering, that is why it is natural for her to be inclined towards her mother more than her father, who she assumed lived a happy & comfortable life when she & her mother were struggling on their own!

I found Nida’s reaction so believeable & realistic, like at first she seemed indifferent & aloof to the fact that Hayat turned out to be her sister. At first I also felt that Nida was also emotionally detached to her father that is why she wasn’t feeling angry or insecure after learning the truth that he had a daughter from his first marriage too but later the way she reacted when she found out that he had a heart attack went to show that Nida is someone who only keeps her fears & emotions to herself. Yes, when it comes to Zaki, she is quite expressive & shares her concerns & fears with him because he understands her, but when it comes to her family, she deals with things her way & I really like that about her. The way Nida threatened Hayat also seemed justified because those were the words coming from a daughter who was concerned about her father’s well being!

I must say, Zaki’s father Haroon has to be my favorite father character in the recent dramas that I have seen, like I absolutely adore how cool he is & how he always makes sure to keep her son safe & secured from the problems he might get involved into. Haroon can see that Zaki is getting himself involved in Hayat-Affaq-Nida fiasco that is why he just advised him to be cautious & to take a step back. The way Haroon spoke about Hayat in comparison to Nida showed that he would immediately give a nod of approval if he will see Zaki getting interested in Hayat because looks like he sees Hayat as a better life partner for Zaki than Nida. Even in the beginning when Nida started blaming Zaki for being too worried about Hayat, Zaki didn’t have much to say to negate Nida’s concerns as even though he might not admit but what he feels of Hayat is definitely something more than sympathy & after what he told his father, it looks like he is going to explore his feelings for Hayat pretty soon!

Well, let’s talk about the character of the episode, lol, for me it was Nida’s mother. Even though she is selfish & conceited but Ayesha Sana has made that character so realistic. She is unapologetically like that & that is why she is not even scared to voice her concerns despite knowing that her husband wasn’t in the best of his health. Nida’s mother can already see that with Hayat being in the picture, her & Nida’s position can get affected, also she knows that Affaq is quite an emotional person, so that is why she felt threatened that may be Affaq will bless Hayat will all that he has accumulated till date. ‘Beti ka deemagh kharab hai, baap ka dil kharab hai’ was hilarious, even though she is quite a unique character, I enjoy watching her & her scenes. Looks like Nida’s mother also didn’t really approve of Nida being overly concerned for her father because the moment she saw that happening, she started reminding her of all those times when Affaq opposed what Nida wanted to do. It was good to see that at least at that moment Nida understood the gravity of the situation & she was aware of the fact that this was not the suitable time to be discussing those differences because right now Affaq was in a hospital & he needed his family by his side.

So, Hayat came to see Affaq. Even in the initial part of the episode, when she heard that Affaq got a heart-attack, she wanted to go & see him immediately but she stopped herself because she knew this way she will nullify everything that she said to him about not wanting him in her life at all. Hayat took some time to reflect upon the things Affaq said to her & the way she came to meet him did suggest that may be Affaq’s confession about Hayat believing in one sided story, did affect her & may be she did realize that Affaq had a point. Even though at this stage, Hayat didn’t seem too keen to find out what her father wanted to say to her but she came with an intention of giving a closure to this chapter because she actually didn’t want to depend on her father emotionally & she didn’t want to stay associated with him. It was quite wise of Hayat to say that she neither had any hatred for her father nor misunderstanding, but just because she was used to this kind of life, she didn’t want to have any contact with him. I am not sure if Affaq is in a position to not forgive Hayat because his claims didn’t really make sense as he is the one who is guilty.

Overall, this episode was beautiful & emotional. I love how the writer has conveyed the human emotions in such a beautiful manner by writing such perfect situations which when backed by these emotions give so much of depth & meaning to the story. I loved the scene of Hayat & her mother, like it made my heart break for Hayat because at such a young age, she had no father figure in her life, she saw her mother battling a terminal illness & then eventually losing her life to it, like that girl has endured so much, yet she never compromises or sacrifices on her values & dignity, which is commendable. I am loving the direction of this drama, I am loving the acting of all the actors & most importantly, I am loving all the characters too, not sure about Affaq though as I am not too keen on him but the rest including his 2nd wife are amazing & a treat to watch. Loving Yeh Raha Dil. Please share your thoughts about this beautiful episode of Yeh Raha Dil!

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 08 – Heart-warming!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was a little high on emotions but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I must say the thing I love the most about this drama is the fact how all the emotions & all the situations have been conveyed so beautifully that no matter what comes my way, I find myself liking it. So, this was exactly the case with this episode too that even though it didn’t have any comic scenes or situations, everything that was shown was quite convincing & realistic.

So, Hayat finally showcased her desperation to earn her home back that she made such sort of commitment to Haroon where she promised that she will pay him back & buy her house from him. I think this is something admirable here that even though Hayat has no plan of action, she has nothing in her hands but all she has is a hope & a dream to get her house back one day. Even though Hayat has assessed Zaki & his family background quite well so far, but isn’t it amazing that Hayat hasn’t thought of exploiting Zaki or Haroon’s niceness & their courtesy even once? Even though in the beginning Hayat was introduced as someone who would manipulate people & sweet-talk them into achieving what she wanted but that was for the smallest of favors but it is actually quite interesting to see that now when she should be resorting to manipulation or things like that, she chose honesty & dignity over everything. It actually is a breath of fresh air to see a girl who believes in herself & is so self-sufficient that despite being in a dire situation, she isn’t looking for shortcuts!

Despite not wanting to, Zaki has grown a lot more courteous towards Hayat because he has finally realized that Hayat is in a difficult situation. The way Zaki tried to cheer Hayat up when he was on the way to drop her to her home was quite cute. For the first time, Hayat showed another trait of her personality that if she puts her mind to something, she will do anything to achieve it. Zaki tried to make Hayat realize that what she was wishing for wasn’t easy but Hayat chose to ignore everything that he was saying because she knew, she didn’t need to hear all of that as it might distract her from her motive.

Finally, Zaki got to meet Nida’s parents. As awkward as that entire interaction was, I loved that scene because it had so much going on in it. I love the fact how the director has made sure to showcase the personalities of all the characters through their reactions in different situations. It has been made clear that Nida is immature but it is a fact that she might be immature but she is not naïve or aloof to her surroundings. Nida could see that her parents especially her mother wasn’t leaving a good impression on Zaki but she tried really hard to cover up & in the end looked at Zaki in such a way as if she was expecting him to understand without registering what her mother was saying. Even though Nida is a little difficult but I like the fact that she hasn’t been shown as a completely negative character. Yes, Nida can be someone that people may form an opinion about a bit too quickly but overall, she is unapologetically like that & at least she makes Zaki happy (for now though). Nida might act impulsively in different situations but the moment she met her parents she knew something was off & that is why she even inquired about it & got to know that their parents were separated & were considering getting divorced, like this is something an indifferent or emotionally absent person would’ve never been able to guess but Nida did, which showed that she isn’t completely immature.

Yes, Nida’s attitude & her overall independent personality might be a point of concern for Haroon because she is not the sort of a partner he wants for his son as he knows Zaki’s weaknesses a a bit too well, that is why time & again he keeps on complaining about Nida’s attitude. Nida has lived her life independently, that is why she finds it hard to communicate with Zaki regarding each & everything because for her pretty much every other thing is nominal whereas for Zaki, things don’t work that way, that is why he seemed a little taken aback by Nida’s demand of showing her parents the house that Haroon bought for him.

So, Affaq finally came to his old house & inquired about the owner. I think it was good that the director didn’t drag this entire thing up & brought the story to such a point where Hayat & Affaq faced each other. Obviously, Hayat hasn’t been in a good place lately & on top of that, seeing her father in front of her after 20 years came as a shock to her. It looks like even though Affaq has done well for himself in his professional life but when it comes to his personal life, he feels empty & a huge void, which definitely has a lot to do with his decision of leaving Hayat & her mother behind. Also, Nida’s mother did say that her & Affaq’s relation was a bit shaky, so I am sure this must be another reason why he seemed so regretful because he must’ve thought that he found a compatible partner in the form of Nida’s mother but he actually didn’t & even after so many years, he was once again at the brink of a divorce. It did seem that he was ready to start afresh with Hayat but I don’t think that would be fair on Hayat’s part to give him a space in her life just because he wants it. I think Affaq will have to earn his place back in Hayat’s life because he has no idea what she has gone through all these years in his absence, so her tantrum or hesitation is quite believable!

Overall, I loved this episode of Yeh Raha Dil too. This episode also had some few but very meaningful conversations, especially the ones that Affaq & Zaki shared every now & then. I must say Ayesha Sana played her part really well & I will also praise the stylist this time around because just by looking at both Nida & her mother, one could tell that they both are related to each other, like there was so much of similarity between them. I actually laughed a lot when Nida told Zaki how she enjoyed being suspicious because that’s something that females enjoy the most. Also, the way Zaki brought food & clothes for Hayat was quite sweet. This drama somehow has a lot of warmth & sweetness attached to it which is something that I love about it the most. All the actors did a commendable job. It is actually quite nice to see Ahmed Ali sharing a unique kind of chemistry with both Anam Gohar & Yumna Zaidi. Ayesha Sana was a nice addition to this episode even though her character was quite odd but she did a commendable job in portraying that. I can’t wait for the next episode already. Yeh Raha Dil Episode 06 Review – Comedy Done Right!

Ohkay so, just when I thought that things might get serious after Hayat & Zaki returning back to Pakistan, I was pleasantly surprised that the quotient of comedy was kept alive in the show even at this stage & because of that, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode of Yeh Raha Dil as well. I am so happy with the direction & the pace of the drama & I really hope it stays this way because every episode brings new developments with it, which is great.

So, Zaki left after learning the truth about what Hayat said to Nida. Even though Hayat couldn’t clarify herself & even though Zaki left on a bitter note, I found it quite sweet that Hayat missed Zaki & most importantly, the friend that she found in him. Zaki actually left a good impression on Hayat because she couldn’t imagine that a guy like him who would always get annoyed by Hayat was actually being considerate towards her & was taking care of smallest of things to comfort her. I think it was quite sweet that Hayat actually missed Zaki like a friend because actually the bonding that they shared was quite special to her.

So, just when I thought that things would get a little awkward for Zaki, he was welcomed with open arms by his parents & then Nida as well. I must say, I loveddd the new entrant in this show which is Julie. Julie actually got quite a lot of coverage & ended up being the one who not only brought Nida & Zaki together but Zaki’s parents closer to her too. It was quite amusing yet adorable seeing all of them like a one happy family being worried about Nida’s pet Julie & I thoroughly enjoyed that entire scenario.

Things surely are working in Zaki’s favor because his father is not only too generous but he loves his son a lot too. Even though it was quite a coincidence that Haroon ended up buying Hayat House but it seemed quite convincing. Haroon had a vision for his son where he saw Hayat House as a perfect place which Zaki could turn into his restaurant. Zaki & Nida were over the moon because they got Haroon’s approval & that is exactly why they didn’t mind the condition that Haroon put forth where he wants Zaki to establish his business in the span of 6 months. I must say, Ayesha Sana as Nida’s mother was a perfect choice, like the mannerisms of both the mum & the daughter were quite similar. I laughed a lot at the conversation that Nida’s mother had with Zaki where she couldn’t stop emphasizing on the fact that Zaki hit the jackpot because her daughter Nida the great, chose him as her life partner, lol!

I must say I loveee how Zaki is always the bone of contention between Haroon & Azra where they keep on fighting over their son but at the end of the day, they both love Zaki unconditionally in their own unique way. Where Azra is a typical emotional mother who wants to fulfill her son’s every single wish, on the other hand Haroon is a practical father who wants what’s best for his son because he knows Zaki a bit too well. I must say, I actually look forward to Azra & Haroon’s scenes because not only their conversations are witty but the actors playing the roles of Haroon & Azra have such an amazing chemistry as worried parents of their burger bacha. It is a rarity in any drama for the characters of parents to be as interesting as the younger lot of the characters & I feel the writer should be commended for that.

So, where everything was going extremely well for Zaki, for Hayat everything turned out to be a nightmare because she finally learned the truth that Salman sold her house & moved out of Pakistan. Even though Salman’s friend suggested filing an FIR against Salman but then again, even though Hayat was scared at the scene she witnessed at the police station, she obviously also understood that there was no point in doing that because Salman was out of her & the police’s reach. It was quite sad to see Hayat looking at her house like it didn’t belong to her anymore, where she had spent her entire life & now all she was left was with the memories of all those days that she lived there. Even though things are looking grim for Hayat at this stage but luckily for her, this house now belongs to Zaki & his family & Zaki has already shown Hayat what he is capable of, in terms of niceness & how he can be a Good Samaritan, so therefore, I am actually feeling relieved that Hayat won’t be suffering much as I assumed because she will have Zaki’s support.

The preview of the next episode seemed quite interesting because looks like Zaki is going to be the one pleading Hayat’s case in front of Nida & Haroon. I don’t know why but I have a feeling that Haroon might tell Hayat to work for Zaki, like may be his restaurant manager or something because she has quite a personality & if she’d come across Haroon ever, I am sure she will leave quite an impression on him. I am thoroughly enjoying watching Yeh Raha Dil because the story is quite interesting, the characters are beautifully written, the situations make a lot of sense & the best part is, everything is conveyed in such a comic manner that it completes the picture flawlessly. I must say, I love the fact that they have kept the comedy quite subtle, believable & situational where you can actually relate to all those witty dialogues because usually this is how regular people communicate on a daily basis too, the best thing is that nothing seems forced when it comes to comedy that is why it is working just right! Ahmed Ali, Yumza Zaidi, Anam Gohar & the actors playing the role of Zaki’s parents, all of them have done such an amazing job & I must say, their comic timing is commendable. Even though we have very few characters in this drama but all of them have such interesting personalities & have so much to contribute in their own accord, that all of them seem to be an important part of the story. I can’t wait for the next episode already. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil!

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 05 Review – Entertaining!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was quite interesting & like always, I had a great time watching it. I think the way they are taking the story forward is quite convincing & I enjoyed watching Hayat & Zaki’s bonding. It is commendable that the director didn’t rely too much on the beauty of Nepal & has used it as a backdrop while maintaining the focus on Hayat & Zaki’s characters & their track. It is far more interesting to see that Hayat & Zaki are bonding with each other in a new place as they both have no one else to have a conversation with because now when they will go back to Pakistan, I don’t think them not being in Nepal would make any difference to the story. I think this is a perfect & an intelligent way to use a location or a different country by keeping it in the background & not making it a focal point of the episode, the story or the drama!

So, Zaki felt he needed to take Hayat to the hospital out of courtesy as he saw her fainting in front of him. After that, Zaki had no escape because he showed Hayat the signs that he was ready to be her friend, at least this is what Hayat assumed even if Zaki wasn’t in the mood for that as she is someone who is unapologetically clingy & doesn’t mind bothering someone if she grows comfortable around them. It was nice to see Hayat & Zaki sharing conversations about different things. Zaki for the first time got to realize that Hayat was in a grave situation where she was unable to contact her friend & was complaining about little things that were bothering her. Yes, Zaki’s gesture of paying the hospital bills & not telling about it to Hayat was quite sweet & then gifting her a new phone just so that he could help her in some way went to show that he was now realizing that Hayat was quite dignified where she never once tried to use these things to seek sympathy from of him, rather she only posed that she needed his support as she was alone.

For the first time Hayat showed Zaki that side of hers which she till date has probably shown to Salman, but luckily the difference is that Salman used that to benefit himself whereas Zaki is not going to use it against her because he already has grown a little compassionate towards her & also because he is genuinely a nice guy who comes from a very decent family background. Hayat decided to share her past with Zaki by telling her about the ugly divorce that her parents went through. Her mother is no more & she has no idea where her father is & she most certainly doesn’t bother because obviously, she must have all her sympathies & all her feelings attached to her mother as she must’ve seen her struggling & doing everything for Hayat, whereas her father after divorcing his wife forgot that he had a child which he should maintain a relationship with despite not being married to Hayat’s mother any more. I find it quite admirable that a young girl like Hayat who comes from a broken family & has already lost her only parent, is so full of life & isn’t scared of anything. Yes, Hayat does have her moments where she feels lonely & vulnerable but then again, she knows how to pick herself up & face the world.

Jimmy is creating one issue after another for Nida & Zaki because obviously, he knows what Nida’s worth & Jimmy already thinks it is ridiculous that Nida is ready to toss her career away for a guy like Zaki. Just because Jimmy told Zaki a different version, Zaki chose to believe that immediately & changed his plans of going back to Pakistan, I think this explained a lot about Zaki’s personality & his indecisiveness. Zaki is someone who can be easily manipulated into believing something because he doesn’t put his mind through to analyze the situation himself, which makes him look a little gullible & also makes me feel that he allows people to cloud his judgments easily. May be this is why I feel that Zaki is just infatuated with Nida but just because she has told him that he loves her, he is believing her without putting much thought into the fact whether he actually loves her or not.

It was good to see Hayat doing some much needed counselling of Zaki where she was telling him about her philosophy of love & how it actually should be because everything that Hayat said to Zaki about the way Nida was treating him or their relationship was spot on. Zaki is burdened by this love & he doesn’t understand. Zaki trusts Nida completely even after she is into such a career which can make a partner insecure so similarly, Nida should trust Zaki too but she chooses not to, which shows that may be she is insecure or may be she thinks Zaki is not a man of his word who’d stand by his decision of marrying her, like may be Nida thinks Zaki is emotionally quite weak & like I said, he can get manipulated? Nida might not say it but the things that Haroon told her about Zaki are definitely on her mind that is why she has grown a lot more restless & insecure about her relationship with Zaki & also about Zaki as her partner in general!

I had a good laugh at the conversation that Nida & Hayat shared, like Nida didn’t know who she was dealing with because Hayat is someone who has to give it back to the one who insults her, without even worrying about the consequences. All this while, Zaki was telling her about all the problems that he was facing because of Hayat & she ended up adding more fuel to the fire just because she was furious & wanted to give Nida a hard time. I am sure Hayat & Zaki’s friendship will hit the rock bottom because Zaki already seemed quite shocked at his mother’s phone call & after he learnt the truth about what Hayat actually said to Nida!

Overall, this episode was entertaining & well-directed. I love the fact that all the characters are quite real & no one is completely black or white, like even though Nida might look like a difficult person to deal with but then again, she seems realistic because this is how usually girls who are insecure react. The dialogues were quite amusing too, I had a good laugh at ‘Haleem aur Nihari ka bhi pooch lo’ & seriously the way Hayat tried to explain what ‘waara’ actually meant but she didn’t know how to describe it was something that I could personally relate to because this is the word that I use as well but struggled really hard when once I had to explain the meaning behind it, lol! Yumna Zaidi, Ahmed Ali & Anum Gohar, all three have done a marvelous job. Adnan Jaffer is another strong performer & has added so much humor to the drama. I can’t wait for the next episode already, please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil!

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 04 Review – A Treat To Watch!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was once again quite interesting & a treat to watch mostly because the main focus was on two polar opposite characters who are interacting with each other time & again. The direction of the drama so far has been great & so is the writing especially the way the characters have been etched out. Everything at this stage is falling into its right place, that is why despite not offering something entirely new, Yeh Raha Dil still seems refreshing & enjoyable!

So, Zaki’s mother continued to support him because she being a mother can not do without her son. Zaki’s father is practical but when it comes to Zaki’s mother, she is emotional, that is why despite understanding her husband’s concerns, she is a bit more worried about what her son wants. Zaki’s parents do understand that just because Zaki is their only child, they allowed him to get away with everything & now that is something that is bothering them a bit more because Zaki has gotten used to the idea of getting what he wants by hook or by crook. Zaki knows that no matter what happens, his parents will never go against his wishes, that is why despite being away from his home, he is still being taken care of, emotionally because of his mother & financially because of his father. Even though at this stage, Zaki might seem a little immature & childish that is because his mother is assisting him in this emotional blackmailing drama due to which he is unable to understand his father’s perspective.

Hayat continued to pester Zaki & Zaki was so not happy with her. Even though Hayat may pose to be a strong & confident individual, which she actually is, but right now, just because she is alone that too in a new place without any contact with Salman in Pakistan, she really wants to rely on Zaki. Hayat thinks she can cute her way into Zaki’s space & he will fall for all the sweet-talk that she directed at him but just because Zaki is so preoccupied with the havoc that he has created in his father’s life, he is really not in a right state of mind to form a friendship with Hayat. Though it was nice to see that just when Hayat really wanted his phone to contact Salman, after resisting for a while, Zaki decided to help her because he could see that she was desperate.

I must say that entire food-poisoning scenario was so realistic & relate-able like usually when your environment changes & you step out of your comfort zone, it becomes hard for your body to adjust to these changes & it was pretty realistic that just because Hayat must’ve eaten something which she wasn’t used to, she got sick. Once again, just when Zaki was trying to play the hero in front of his lady-love by telling that his drama was paying off, Hayat decided to rely on him because she herself was scared & wanted someone by her side. I liked how this episode was a lot more situational & momently, like these sort of episodes don’t give you much to talk about‌ in the reviews because they solely rely on a lot of interaction & conversations between the characters & those can not be discussed or dissected but on the whole they allow you to have a great time while you’re tuned to them & that is why, all the conversations that happened between Hayat & Zaki were so interesting that I couldn’t stop smiling as I was having such a good time.

I enjoyed watching Nida in this episode too, like it was kind of sweet of her when she was trying to engage Zaki into a conversation asking him to share his feelings, thinking that he must be feeling homesick as she does understand that everything that Zaki is doing is because of her. Nida might be immature as well but at least when it comes to Zaki, she makes him happy & gives him the sort of attention that he wants. Her reaction when she felt that Zaki was with some girl was natural, she felt jealous, insecure & completely forgot that all the effort that Zaki was making was only because of her. Another sweet moment of this episode was when Zaki’s mother gets to know that Haroon sent Zaki a message asking him to contact her so that she can worry a little less for her son & later when she tells her husband what he means to her. I find Zaki’s parents interactions quite amusing, cute & very realistic, like they bicker one moment & the next they are trying to make each other understand what’s good for their son & what isn’t.

Overall, I had a great time watching this episode. I must say what I am loving about Yeh Raha Dil is how the characters have been elaborated like all of them seem so complete & have a personality of their own, which is a rarity in our dramas so it is something commendable. Yumna Zaidi definitely carried this episode on her shoulders & Ahmed Ali supported her perfectly because he was equally as good as her. I loved how effortless & flawless Hayat & Zaki’s interactions were, like the entire feel where Hayat was trying to be clingy while Zaki was trying to get rid of her was prevalent in all of their scenes, Yumna & Ahmed have really taken care of the mood of the scenarios through their acting & expressions & that is why it is turning out to be such an enjoyable drama. I can’t wait for the next episode already. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil & yes, my apologies for a short & hurried review, just not too well & finding it hard to stay awake. ;)

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 03 Review – Breath of Fresh Air!

Ohkay so, this episode of Yeh Raha Dil was quite interesting & I had a great time watching it. I feel this episode was filled with so many interesting conversations that they made every other scene engaging & enjoyable. Now that the main leads have landed in Nepal, I really hope that they don’t rely too much on the scenic beauty that Nepal has to offer & keep the focus on the story, but I am sure they won’t be depending too much on the location to keep the viewers distracted because it has been revealed that Yeh Raha Dil is an adaptation of a Korean Drama ‘Full House’, so I am sure it will stay interesting because the writer must’ve taken all the ingredients to make the drama a complete package because when it comes to Korean Dramas, their dramas are at some other level. However, I will say that the fact that Yeh Raha Dil is a Pakistani version of a Korean drama doesn’t make it any less enjoyable or anything because for me, it is a fresh change & is quite unique so it is definitely working for me!

So, Haroon thinks Zaki is only infatuated with Nida & he needs to do some thinking before making the final decision because Haroon knows his son a bit too well. All of Haroon’s concerns might make him seem rigid but he only wants what’s best for his son as he is scared that Zaki might get hurt. Haroon is far more wise & experienced than Zaki that is why he can foresee that Nida & Zaki aren’t meant to be as Nida is not going to prove to be an ideal wife that would make Zaki & his parents happy. Zaki’s parents’ concerns about Nida were believable, like they weren’t making a big deal out of a non-issue because Nida most certainly left such an impression that forced them to do some thinking!

Zaki’s father warned him about Nida & her intentions & that is why he believed that their love needed to be put through a test, therefore he told Zaki to ask Nida if she was ready to make some compromises but even before Zaki could ask Nida about all of that, Nida told him what her plan was. I don’t blame Nida because she has been raised like that by her parents & just because she is so successful at such a young age, she doesn’t find it necessary for Zaki to be taking any pressures from his parents. Just because Nida has lived such an independent life, she is unable to relate to the life that Zaki is leading where he is totally dependent on his parents. Nida on her own is right because while still being independent she is a little immature to understand how important it is to have a family & how necessary it would be for Zaki to be in touch with his parents otherwise he will grow out of this relationship pretty quickly. Right now, just because Nida & Zaki are facing some resistance from Haroon, they are not thinking about how they can convince him & are not even trying to think about the fact that his concerns might be valid, but rather they are looking for the short cuts which will guarantee them togetherness irrespective of the price they will have to pay.

So, Zaki being a spoiled son once again decided to blackmail his parents by leaving the country as he knew that this will put some pressure on his father & he will end up succumbing to it. I loved how realistic & cute Zaki’s parents are where his mother is like a true depiction of all the mothers who worry about their children & find it as their duty to fulfill all their wishes & Zaki’s father is like any typical father who carries a tough facade but is so soft & kind-hearted from the inside that even he couldn’t stop worrying about his son but was too afraid to let anyone know that even he is restless at what his son did. I loved that entire scenario where Haroon said one thing & the very next moment he proved that he was actually Qaroon as he took care of the amount that he felt Zaki might be needing for his trip.

So, finally Hayat flew to Nepal & met Zaki on the way. I loved their conversations & interaction, it was actually quite amusing how Hayat was trying to make it look like travelling was such a nominal thing for her but as their journey went on, through her actions she started giving away that she was travelling for the first time. Hayat is someone who loves a company & always wants to be surrounded by someone she can have a conversation with, that is why it was amusing how she was trying to get pally with Zaki but he was so not into it as he already finds Hayat a little weird & annoying. The first reminder that Hayat got was when she found out that Salman didn’t make any reservations for her but just because she was so excited to be in Nepal & just because she trusts Salman so much, she couldn’t even bring herself to think that something was off.

Salman & his wife Ragini proved that they were just being friendly with Hayat because they had their sights on her bungalow that she must’ve inherited from her parents. It was sad that despite knowing that this house was the only safety net in Hayat’s life, Salman & Ragini stayed focused on their plan in which Salman intends to sell the property off & settle abroad. Even though I feel bad for Hayat & I know she will be shattered emotionally but I am sure she has the ability to make Salman pay for his crime if she will ever get in contact with him & I just can’t wait to see that. I hope after learning the truth that it was Salman who sold her house, Hayat’s character will still have some spark where she will fight her battle in a quirkiest way.

Overall, this episode was quite interesting. I loved all the conversations because they made every other scene quite engaging. I am definitely loving the acting of all the actors & all the characters are just so amazing. I had such a good laugh at Jimmy & his ordeal where he was informing Nida about the stuff he faced last night when she dropped him off in the middle of nowhere, lol, like there was a lot of margin for Adnan Jaffer to go overboard with Jimmy’s character but he most certainly didn’t. Even though we know he is a little different but Jimmy still seems so real & funny. I loved Yumna Zaidi’s acting & I had a good time watching Ahmed Ali too because out of all the episodes, he got a lot of coverage for the first time in this episode & his performance as Zaki was definitely convincing. Overall, really happy with the drama & definitely looking forward to it. The preview seemed promising too. Anam Ahmed was quite cute as Nida & it was actually amusing where she was trying to prove a point in front of Zaki’s parents regarding how much Zaki loves her. lol! Yeh Raha Dil Episode 02 Review – Thoroughly Enjoyable!

Ohkay so, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode of Yeh Raha Dil. What I’m loving about this drama is that they are showing us the issues & the problems that all the main characters & their loved ones are facing while still having a comic relief throughout the drama because it makes things a lot more interesting, light-hearted & entertaining. I think this approach makes a drama a complete package where the problems are highlighted as well but are balanced out with a little bit of wit & humor. While watching this episode, I couldn’t stop thinking that it is the same director who has directed Dil Banjara too but he couldn’t extract such effortless & casual kind of acting from Adnan Malik & Sanam Saeed, but look what he has done here that he has literally brought out the best in a newcomer like Anam Ahmed who was actually quite weak in her previous drama. I think as much as it depends on the director to bring out the best in the actors, it also depends on the actors to do their best by following the lead of the director because I can’t emphasize enough on how much impressed I am with Anam Ahmed’s acting in this episode & in this drama in general.

So, Nida’s family-like friend Jimmy (Adnan Jaffer) got introduced in this episode & looks like he is not only a designer but is Nida’s manager too because he literally makes most of the decisions on her behalf as he knows what her worth is. Just like any practical man out there who is well aware of how the fashion industry works, Jimmy grew overly concerned for Nida because he knew that she couldn’t afford to get married at such a stage in her life where she is at the peak of her modelling career. Jimmy is someone who can easily manipulate people by showing them the practical side of the picture, plus he knows that Nida has given him a lot of edge, that is why he openly voiced his disagreement at her decision of getting married. Just because Nida has lived quite an independent sort of life, away from her home, away from her parents, basically away from any kind of a safety net, she has become quite practical, that is why it took only a few facts mentioned by Jimmy for her to second guess herself & her decision of getting married to Zaki. There’s no doubt about the fact that Nida loves Zaki a lot & wants to settle down with him but she is also someone who won’t just go with the flow & follow what Zaki or his parents would want, in fact she is someone who believes in making her own ways & following them, so it will be hard for her to compromise or make sacrifices just because of the fact that she loves Zaki.

I really really like the relationship that Hayat shares with Salman. Once again, Salman was being warned about the audit that is soon going to take place but Salman somehow believes he will dodge the bullet. Just like Hayat, Salman is also someone who can easily persuade people into believing him, that is why he convinced his friend to lend him the money. It was nice to know that Salman actually has so much of respect for Hayat & treats her like a family because he feels indebted to her as she was the one who helped him & his wife when they decided to get married for which his wife eloped from her house. At first, I did feel that may be Salman’s wife won’t be too happy about Hayat & Salman’s friendship but it was so good to see her getting along with Hayat like a friend as well. I think it was quite sweet of Salman & his wife to gift Hayat a trip to Nepal, just because he understood that she is someone who should explore the world & should step outside of her comfort zone. I think it was quite thoughtful of Salman that just because Hayat told him that her novel got rejected because the publishers didn’t see any authenticity in her writing as she herself hasn’t visited those places that she writes about, Salman decided to do something about it. Seeing how Salman is, like how he thinks about his profit & wants to make money, I really wish that this gesture is purely based on his true friendship & doesn’t have any ulterior motive like where he must be thinking that this trip will help Hayat in a way that her novel might get published & she might start making a lot of money so that later he can mooch off her. This is a thought that has crossed my mind purely based on how Salman is in his professional life which is hidden from his wife & also his friend Hayat too but then, seeing how much he respects Hayat, I really hope it is just a friendly gesture with no strings attached.

So, finally Jimmy accompanied Nida to the dinner that she was invited for at Zaki’s place. Jimmy is someone who might pose to be all sweet & gullible but he surely knows when to push the buttons, that is why all the things that he kept on saying about Nida & even Zaki only showcased how his only intention was to stuff this meeting up so that the talks about Zaki & Nida’s marriage is left in the lurch. Zaki’s father, who already wasn’t thrilled with the idea of Zaki’s marriage with an independent practical girl like Nida got a confirmation when he had a conversation with her, like it was good to know that he didn’t mind Jimmy’s presence & neither did he judge Nida based on the sort of a friend she had, but he was more concerned & worried about his son as he is well aware of his restless & adventurous nature that doesn’t allow him to be content with what he has in his life for a longer period of time. I liked the fact that Haroon didn’t try to put the blame on Nida but only made her familiar with his own son’s short-comings.

Overall, this episode was amazing. I can’t even remember how many times I had a hearty laugh, which was so refreshing because I loved the humor & I loved the situational comedy. The conversations were so interesting especially the one that happened between Hayat & Salman in the beginning of the episode & the one that Haroon & Jimmy had as well. I love how casual & unapologetic sort of relationship both Salman & Hayat share, like in literal sense this is how friendships should be like & it is good to see two characters sharing such a bond. I must say the addition of Adnan Jaffer was a treat in this episode, even though he will be stirring some troubles for Nida here & there but the comic relief that he provided was amazing & I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don’t know the name of the actor playing the role of Salman (I’d appreciate if someone could help me with that) but I like the effortlessness in his acting as well. The scenes where Salman, his wife & Hayat bonded were really nice too. I must say, I am so impressed & pleased with Anam Ahmed’s acting that literally for a second I thought she should’ve been in the article that Fatima & I just posted about the Top Fresh Faces of Pakistani Television, like seeing such an improvement in an actor is a treat & I really think the director deserves a special mention for giving all the actors such a brief to act themselves & be comfortable in front of the camera. I think Anam Ahmed on her own has worked really hard on her dialogue delivery, her body language, her expression & her over all acting because she now looks a lot confident while facing the camera & I can not believe she is the same girl who was the only weakling in Kathputli which aired just a few months ago. Anyways, overall I am pretty pleased with the drama, the plot & the characters. Yumna Zaidi makes all her scenes a treat to watch & Ahmed Ali so far has gotten a bit of a limited coverage but he made the most of the scenes in which he was present. I can’t wait to see the next episode & I think yeh Raha Dil is going to make us wait for Mondays from now on. Please share your thoughts about this amazing episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 01 Review – Thoroughly Enjoyable!

Ohkay so, the production of MD Productions, writing of Mustafa Afridi & direction of Siraj ul Haq; Ye Raha Dil commenced tonight on Hum TV & I must say this drama had such an amazing start, so much so that I am excited & looking forward to the next episode already. This episode delivered what they promised, it was comic & I am sure as the story will progress it will have some romance too. I have always felt that our drama-makers didn’t do really well in the genre of rom-com but I think my opinion is about to be changed & the credit for that will definitely go to Mustafa Afridi. In the past, we have already seen what Mustafa Afridi is capable of in terms in writing so I am sure he has something amazing in store for us this time around too. The episode introduced the characters & their tracks pretty well & I had such a great time watching the first episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

The drama began with a very dramatic scene where the hero Zaki (Ahmed Ali) is seen convincing his parents Haroon Baig & Azra to allow him to get married to the girl of his dreams. Zaki being the only son of Haroon & Azra knows that he has a lot of edge & he knows exactly how to pull the strings that will assure him of getting what he wants. All Zaki had to do was to drench himself in the rain & pull off a little bit of drama to melt the heart of his mother & then rest was history because he knew that if he will have his mother on his side, she will eventually end up convincing Zaki’s father too.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 01 Review - Thoroughly Enjoyable!

Another character that got introduced was of Hayat (Yumna Zaidi), an orphan & a writer by profession who is full of life. Hayat puts up a facade of being happy-go-lucky, whereas deep inside, she is just a very emotional & childlike sort of a girl who feels lonely because she doesn’t have her parents in her life anymore. Hayat is someone who knows how to bring herself out of any messy situation because she is present-minded & spontaneous. Hayat has a go-getter sort of an attitude & she is someone who would do anything for her friends. One trait of hers that I feel might land her into a trouble would be her ability to trust people easily. Hayat’s best friend Salman helps her & always goes out of the way but looks like he himself is hiding a lot of things from Hayat & is probably involved in some shady business.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 01 Review - Thoroughly Enjoyable!

The third & the last character that got introduced was of Zaki’s love-interest Nida (Anam Ahmed), who is a model by profession & loves Zaki a lot. Nida is blunt & straight forward but she is innocent as well. Zaki’s father finds the choice of her career a little objectionable & that is why he believes that Zaki & Nida won’t be able to lead a happy life but just after Azra tries to make him understand that he shouldn’t judge Nida because of the kind of work she does, Haroon tells her to arrange a meeting with Nida & her family to see how things roll.

Zaki, Nida & Hayat share a little moment where Hayat damages Zaki’s car but like a confident & sweet-talker that she is, she gets away from that entire situation by fooling Zaki & Nida easily. Nida is someone who believes in rules whereas for Hayat, there are no rules & the rules are meant to be broken as far as they benefit her. The entire interaction of the three characters was the highlight of the episode for me, it was quite amusing to see Hayat trying to make herself look like a bigger & better person whereas she was guilty & she knew it. Hayat’s second half of the day involved fooling a policeman & a bank employee who only wanted to confiscate Salman’s car but Hayat successfully saved her best friend’s car too because she believed in him & thought that those guys were conning her. After an eventful day & right before her birthday, Hayat got a news that she least expected, which was regarding the novel that she wanted to get published but looks like the editor couldn’t convince the publishers & that brings her morale down. She wishes herself happy birthday while still being teary eyed because that’s when the reality daunts her that she is alone & has no one by her side, which was quite an emotional sight.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the very first episode of Yeh Raha Dil. I loved all the main characters & what I loved the most was how different their personalities were. It is given that in a Mustafa Afridi drama the dialogues will be amazing but I never knew that every other conversation will be filled with such witty dialogues which will make me laugh out loud. I must say, in order to convey such wit & humor, the actors need to have an amazing comic timing & I feel there is no other actress like Yumna Zaidi who could’ve fitted the role of Hayat so well, Ahmed Ali & Anam Ahmed also supported Yumna Zaidi quite well in those scenes too. It looks like Yumna Zaidi is always in her comfort zone when it comes to playing the bubbly & happy-go-lucky characters like these, so she shone in the very first episode. Ahmed Ali was great too in the limited scenes that he got, but I must say, last but definitely not the least, after watching Kathputli, I assumed that Anam Ahmed would still be a little weak in terms of acting but she changed my opinion in the very first scene of hers & what an impressive improvement I must say. If I compare her acting in the entire drama of Kathputli & in the very first episode of Yeh Raha Dil, I will say she did an impressive job this time around, like she seemed far more comfortable in front of the camera & her dialogue delivery was effortless too. Now with three strong performers & amazing characters, I am definitely looking forward to what’s in store for us. The OST was nice, the production value seemed decent & the direction was great too. Mustafa Afridi’s dialogues & Yumna Zaidi as Hayat – definitely were the two strong points of this episode for me. I can’t wait to see the next episode already. Please share your thoughts about the very first episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Yeh Na Thi Hamari Qismat Trolled For Bad Editing Job

Yeh Na Thi Hamari Qismat starring Hira Mani, Muneeb Butt, Aiza Awan and Noor Hassan has been a big hit as it has been getting constant big ratings and Youtube views. Things deteriorated for the drama as one of the leading members of the cast Noor Hassan had some health issues and had to take a sabbatical.

Yeh Na Thi Hamari Qismat Trolled For Bad Editing Job

Haroon Shahid came to rescue and took over the character for the last few episodes. He has replaced Noor to play Yasir after he countered some health issues.

Yeh Mera Deewanapan Hai- The tragedy continues…

YMDH has undergone so many changes, it’s hard to keep track of the story anymore.

The evil Phupis managed to score a double whammy- they accused Atiya of having an affair with Tauseeq which resulted in Tauseeq divorcing Rakhshanda much to her delight and Nafeesuddin rejecting Atiya and labelling her an immoral woman. Jaani, who was reeling from his own personal loss of Mehtaab, fell victim to the web of lies and shunned his mother. Atiya, torn with grief over her son’s rejection, realized her life wasn’t worth living anymore and ended her misery by setting herself on fire. She left behind a suicide note which had enough truth to it to finally wake Jaani up from his stupor. Nafeesuddin used Jaani’s hatred to his own benefit- he had Jaani convinced that he was miserable with a woman like Atiya and wanted to marry Nighat to salvage what was remaining of his life. Jaani came to his senses and realized that his father was guilty of partaking in his Phupis plan and managed to hold himself hostage forcing his father to call off his nikah.

Mehtaab found herself in a compromising situation with Shakoor- when she rejected his advances, he tried to defame her by sensationalizing her affair with Jaani. But he didn’t stop there, he framed her for taking innocent lives by tampering with the injections she was preparing for her patients at the hospital. With multiple lives lost, Mehtaab found herself in a dilemma as no one believed her innocence and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Jaani struggled to hire a lawyer who would help Mehtaab but failed…

image image

Fast forward ten years and Jaani fuelled by his helplessness at having lost not one but two women (his mother and Mehtaab) took it upon himself to better his circumstances. He worked hard and became the most reputable lawyer in town jiskey naam ka sikka purey sheher mein chalta hai… Ironic really that despite being so resourceful, he couldn’t do a thing to change Mehtaab’s circumstances! On the Homefront, however, he was surely the boss. His father, now old and guilt-ridden was living at his mercy; his eldest Phupi was unfortunately still alive and living with him too. However, the tables had turned and now he was the one spewing the insults. His other Phupi, the divorced Rakshanda was still bitter and spiteful but dependent on Jaani for financial support. Her two daughters grew up into seedhi saadhi bhooli bhaali masoom larkiyan… Somehow! Zeba ( Sundus Tariq) secretly fantasizes about becoming Mrs. Jaani and Meena (Anoushey Abbassi) developed an instant liking for their durr ka rishtedaaar Ahmer (an actor so forgettable, I hope I never have to see him again). However, in yet another crazy twist, Ahmer asked for Zeba’s hand in marriage and when Zeba tried to express her feelings for Jaani, he mocked her and reminded her that he found her repulsive but he had a soft spot for Meena… With Rakshanda finding out about her cancer, she hurried to have her daughters married off and Jaani used her desperation to seek vengeance- he left Meena at the altar and the family humiliated… Dr. Nafeesuddin went to meet Mehtaab and begged her to set Jaani free and Mehtaab commanded Jaani to take Meena as his wife… Jaani agreed to her demands on the condition that she would agree to become his wife and proposed to her with a diamond ring which she sheepishly accepted… Such lovebirds, these two!

With all these plot twists, and with Mehtaab taking a break from her red lipstick, the responsibility for providing glamorous red visuals has fallen on the fragile shoulders of Meena. She’s been fashioned as a younger version of Mehtaab- piercing green eyes, brown hair, flawless complexion and that bold shade of red that hypnotized Jaani as a child. Will Jaani find himself falling for Meena once she becomes his wife or will be remain loyal to Mehtaab? For now, Jaani’s determined to make Meena’s life a living hell as a form of retribution for the sins committed by her mother. YMDH has been stretched way beyond its expiration date but I’ve got to hand it to the imagination of the creative minds behind this project- they keep throwing in everything they have to keep this going on. Looking forward to seeing how (and when) thus finally ends!

Yeh Mera Deewanapan Hai- The end!

It took 48 episodes for YMDH to wrap up and I feel like I’ve been in a stupor all along. What just happened? I doubt my words can do justice to the monstrosity I’ve exposed myself over the past few weeks but if I had to pick one moment which I consider above and beyond, it has to be Mehtaab’s parting words of wisdom- waise Jahangir, hairat ki baat haina, apki zindagi mein aney wali teenon auraton ke naam meem se shuru hotay hein- meem se Mehtaab, meem se Meena aur meem se Morni… Aur meem se mohabbat!!! I have to say, plagiarizing Khalil ur Rehmaan’s Khey se Khalil, Re se Rukhsaana aur Meem se Mohabbat is nothing short of a cardinal sin!

I watched YMDH out of curiosity- I had no hopes pinned to it whatsoever but I wanted to see how they would narrate the story of an older woman falling for a younger man. Had they actually focused on Mehtaab and Jahangir’s story, this drama may actually have been something else. Instead, they chose to twist it with irrelevant characters, time lapses and one tragedy after another. Mehtaab and Jahangir were in a unique situation as they defied the norms of our society. But did we really need to see Jahangir turn evil? Did we care about Shakoor Bhai? Or the Phupis? Did we need Meena? If Jahangir was committed to Mehtaab, why did he marry Meena? And forget that, how could he possibly get smitten with Morni who was younger than his son and had nothing in common with him? An uneducated orphan girl raised by Shakoor constantly bickering with a fake Dadi who was a tawaif by profession! Keeping aside the obvious class differences, what did he possibly find irresistible about a girl while he had devoted his life to Mehtaab?

image image

And why did Mehtaab turn cuckoo? Why did they end up making her seem like nothing more than a social climbing nut job? Why defame nurses in such a cheap way? I found it revolting when another red lipstick smeared nurse constantly made passes at Jahangir and stated that she was no different than Nurse Mehtaab! How this Nanney Ashik turned out to be the hero, the saviour is simply beyond me. The way I see it, Jahangir was in desperate need of counselling since he grew up in an unhappy environment. His mother suffered from a severe inferiority complex so a part of him missed out on having a mother. His father was obsessed with beauty so he subconsciously inherited that trait from him. Jahangir was smitten by Mehtaab- not only did he find her physically appealing, he also found solace in her presence. I feel Mehtaab and Jahangir’s relationship had plenty of potential but it was smeared by a lack of direction. Jahangir was socially awkward became increasingly dependent on Mehtaab and had the writer kept Mehtaab true to her original character, she could’ve been a strong female influence and helped Jahangir overcome his childhood issues that clearly carried over.

I do believe A Plus is a channel that dares to be different- I’ve liked Aunn Zara, Pehchaan and Mera Naam Yusuf Hai and a few other dramas such as Marasim and Farwa ki ABC have clicked with the audience too. YMDH played out like a film and I was totally okay with that but there comes a point where the story stops making sense and that’s when you know it’s going downhill. There was no recovering from there on. I sometimes felt as if the producer was determined to sabotage the project or was this someone else’s doing? Surely this story didn’t need 48 episodes! Even half of that was a stretch!

Yeh Mera Deewanapan Hai- Episode 9 – 14

The past six episodes seemed to drag on forever. Atiya cautioned Nafeesuddin that Jaani is on the verge of making a blunder and she hinted at Mehtaab being the cause of his Deewanapan. Jaani made a dash to express his undying love for Mehtaab but that resulted in her getting tossed out of the house and Jaani was beaten up by his crazy father until he bled. Mehtaab found her way to her friend Rehana’s home. Rehana is a nurse and is married to Shakoor who works in a morgue and on the side, he practices dark magic using dead bodies. I don’t get why Shakoor and Rehana’s story is given such importance that much of the previous few episodes were about their lives.

Nurse Mehtaab has finally managed to get settled and even has a home now- one that she used to live in with her ex husband. Again, I fail to see the relevance in this. Tauseeq and Atiya continue consoling each other giving the family an opportunity to question their relationship. Nighat is divorced and is now living in Nafeesuddin’s home and is determined to be a part of his life. The storyline was all over the place almost as if the writer asked for volunteers to contribute a short story and finally consolidating them into the main one.

The only constant remained Mehtaab’s red lipstick! Yes, rain or shine, Mehtaab doesn’t shy away from that luscious red. Jaani managed to track her down and now sits by her door and watches her come and go… Shakoor Bhai has his eyes on Mehtaab too! Will Jaani win his love back by saving her from the evil clutches of the dispecable Shakoor Bhai? Will Mehtaab ditch her 11 year old tube of lipstick and replace it with a new shade? Will Rakshanda finally do the naagin dance? Will Atiya ever get a break from the kitchen and those rotis? Oh, I almost forgot to mention, Nafeesuddin took Jaani to see a psychiatrist- I think pretty much everyone is in household is in need of some serious help!
