Paalna – A baby girl is given to a couple in show Inaam Ghar of Geo TV
Inaam Ghar is a show hosted by Aamir Liaqut Hussain on Geo TV. As per Urdu Daily Jang – Showbiz Cell (aka the propaganda cell of geo), this show has broken all the records of all types of the past and also any records that could have been made in future. It includes all the records that exist to-date and also the records that are yet to be made at any time in near and distant future.
Not contented with this success and popularity, the management of show is still using all the measures to make further records. As per one report of Urdu Daily Jang, the show is heading towards its destiny. But before it reaches there, the host of the show has become impatient so the speed of giving gifts has increased (to make a universal record of gifts versus time). But the program is not just about gifts, it is there to serve a much bigger cause that is to serve humanity (only for the sake of high rating and cheap publicity). There are hundred thousand ways to serve humanity, but Inaam ghar knows only one way, that is to give a toddler to some child-less couple in front of camera, creating as much drama, sentiments and emotions as possible. The name of this segment of this show is named ‘Paalna (Baby Swing)’
Few weeks ago a baby was given to a couple, and this thursday (17th April 2014), there was another one ready to be handed to another couple. The only difference was the gender of baby, which was a girl (previously it was a boy), rest of things i.e. the cameras, the wicked host, emotions, tears, sentiments, were all same. The toddler was handed over to a child-less couple, after creating an emotionally charged situation (which is necessary to earn cheap publicity and high rating).
Few weeks ago Aamir Liaqut Hussain, showed his determination to continue this act which as per him is a service towards humanity. He definitely is a man of his words, as he has done as said, wow what a character to be saluted by the nation. Who says there are too many hypocrites in our society, here is a golden example of a man who stood by what he said.
Coming back to the segment of Paalna of Inaam ghar, since only emotions and tears were not enough to serve humanity so the rhetoric of how this toddler reached the show was also told in front of camera too. As per Ramzan Chippa (Head of Chippa foundation, which provides these toddlers to Inaam Ghar), the baby girl is from a very poor family, already having five daughters, unable to raise the sixth one they consider Aamir Liaqut a ray of hope and left it at Chippa center. The family had plans to throw the baby on a garbage heap, but after watching Inaam Ghar they changed their mind and send the baby to Inaam Ghar via Ramzan Chippa’s organization. Unable to handle so much emotional charge, the audience also joined in by shedding further tears, and each tear was captured by camera and telecasted live to the nation, as ultimately all this adds up to this service towards humanity.
Here is full report from Urdu Daily Jang
As per official website of show Inaam Ghar (http://inaamghar.tv/palna/), the purpose and criteria of segment ‘Paalna’ is mentioned in these words
‘As the inhumane act of throwing a new born away due any issue is on a rise, we all need to work together for a positive change. Inaam Ghar has taken a step to aware people and make them accept the ground realities of the world. The babies who are thrown away by their guardians are not the ones to blame. They are innocent and deserve a life that any normal individual has. To give these toddlers the life they are worthy of, the show set of Inaam Ghar has a Palna. Whenever there is a homeless baby up for adoption, Dr Aamir Liaquat would give the baby as charity to an infertile couple’

Paa Imtiaz And Khadim Rizvi Spotted Together
Aside from what are your views on different issues prevailing in the country, the whole country was in a chaos and confusion after TLP blocked roads over the Aasia Bibi verdict. People left their homes for work in the morning and most of them were either not able to reach or some were stuck and not able to come back, thanks to the countrywide protests. Khadim Rizvi Sahab who was leading these protests has been limelight since his Faizabad Dharna and was again the most relevant person in the country.
Well, he was travelling somewhere and guess who was spotted with him. Khadim Rizvi. People had a very interesting reaction on seeing both of them together while many people started remembering Paa Imtiaz’s golliyan and taafiyan. Here is the picture of them travelling together:
Check out some reactions people have:
Internet seriously has no chill and no one is protected from getting a little bit trolled even if you accidentally stumble upon someone!
Overrated Actors Of The Industry!
There are many actors in our industry who are loved by the audience due to their personalities, style statements and social media presence. But when you look at their projects whether hit or flop; there is a visible lack in the acting department. As that is the main department where an actor must excel first and foremost; the lack obviously land them in the overrated segment. Here is a list of actors who despite the success they have got definitely need to work on their acting:
Mawra Hocane:
She is hands-down the queen of overrated. When I started thinking about the projects she has done justice to; the answer I got was zero. Yes she has been a part of play like Sammi but everyone will agree with me that she was the only actress in the whole drama who didn’t know what was going on around her. Her Bollywood movie was not very bearable either. The only thing she is best at is running her Instagram account which unfortunately technically doesn’t qualify as acting.
Minal Khan and Aiman Khan:
Both sisters started their careers as child artists. They have transformed themselves immensely in both physique as well as social image. They are not really bad but not as good either that they are seen in every second play on television. Their careers are also based mostly on their social media presence rather than versatile acting or good plays.
Feroze Khan:
Watch Gul e Rana and you will get why is he present in the list. With photoshoots, few projects and even a film, Feroze is slowly paving his way in the industry. But honestly speaking he is banking more on his looks as compared to his acting; mostly because acting is not even half as good as looks. His acting in Woh Aik Pal is a disaster too though the disaster that drama itself is another story. Plus his sister Humaima and his love interest Sajal being stars keep him relevant too.
Armeena Khan:
Armeena is no doubt one of our most successful film stars now. With Janaan, Bin Roye and Yalghaar released Armeena has entered the A-listers of Pakistan industry. But her acting talent is still not that A-lister. Her performances in both Bin Roye and Janaan were criticized by many and she hasn’t gotten any good reviews for Yalghaar either. She has same expressions, same dialogue delivery and nearly same persona in each character she performs. That is why she desrves a spot on this list as her acting is not as par as the projects she gets.
Adnan Malik:
Be it Sadqay Tumhare or Dil Banjara Adnan’s acting is atleast not very impressive. He is currently shooting for his debut movie Cake with Amina Sheikh and Sanam Saeed and what we can do is only wish that he improves his acting and rise above his constant frowns and half mouth smiles. His acting has a stiffness which overshadows his expressions in all his projects. Now what we have to see is if he works on his acting and make people go Sadqay Tumhare on him in Cake or just makes our hearts go Banjar with his Banjara expressions.
Mahira Khan:
She is a star, she is gorgeous, she has done some very loved projects but when one looks at her acting skills she definitely deserves a spot on the overrated list. She has a monotony in her acting. Watch Ho Mann Jahan, Humsafar or even Raees, you will notice the same expressions and dialogue delivery going on everywhere. The only time she performed differently was in Shehr e Zaat. With the stardom she has achieved and the comparisons she keeps getting between her and her fellow stars acting prowess; Mahira needs to up her game. As her next project is with Shoaib Mansoor; hopes are high this time.
Danish Taimoor:
Danish has successfully turned his career from dramas to films. With Wrong No. and Mehrunisa V Lub U coming out as successful on box office and Wujood on the way Danish is undoubtedly the leading man in film industry. But he has to work on his acting skills as only a well-scrubbed face and changing wardrobe with every scene will not make him a great actor. His ongoing work will keep him in the overrated list if he didn’t change his style soon.
Yasir Hussain:
The list which started with the queen should end with the king. Yasir definitely is at the top of overrated. Yes his character in Karachi Se Lahore was good but turning the character into a lead one and casting yourself opposite Saba Qamar was not a good idea after all. His recent venture also made me wonder what he is doing other than spotting extremely straightened hair in Shadi Mubarak Ho. He needs to work on his acting rather than keep quoting his crass sense of humour all the time.
This sums up my list for overrated actors of Pakistan. Who else do you think should be added in the list? Share your thoughts!
Overdose of Actors and Actresses in 2012
Last year was filed with shows that gained immense popularity. However, it was exasperating to see the same faces in every show on every other channel. Here is a list of actors and actresses who were seen in multiple shows on different channels at the same time:
Saba Qamar:
Saba Qamar became popular for hosting the parody show, Hum Sab Umeed Se Hai. 2012 would be the most successful year of her career as she starred in a variety of shows like Maat (one of the top plays of 2011-12), Thakan, Jo Chale to Jaan Se Guzar Gaye, Yahan Pyaar Nahi Hai (another hit play), Mein Chand Si, Shehreyar Shehzadi, and Na Kaho Tum Mere Nahi.
Although her plays were excellent and most of them were hits, it was kind of annoying to see her on every other channel at the same time. On top of that, her roles were pretty much the same in every serial. She played the role of a typical woman in Thakan, Jo Chale to Jaan Se Guzar Gaye, and Yahan Pyaar Nahi Hai. But she did manage to show her versatility through her role in Maat as Saman. It was one of Saba Qamar’s best performances!
Sajjal Ali:
Sajjal is another actress who was seen in many serials in 2012. She was seen in shows like Ahmad Habib Ki Betiyan, Mere Qatil Mere Dildar, the hit show Meri Ladli, Mohabbat Jaye Bhar Mein, Sitamgar and Qudussi Sahab Ki Bewa and the long running show Mehmoodabad ki Malkain. She has done a lot of work in a very short time and has become a popular household name.
She has done a variety of roles; negative, positive, as well as grey shaded. But then again she should be a little selective about her shows. Shows like Mohabbat Jaye Bhar Mein should be avoided and it is about time she quits the show Mehmoodabad ki Malkain.
Mikaal Zulfiqar:
Mikaal has improved a lot overtime as an actor. He is another actor seen in a number of serials in 2012. He has performed in the best serials of last year like Dur e Shahwar, Manjali, and Shehr e Zaat. Other serials include Adha Din Puri Raat, Talafi and Saath Pardon Mein. He had chosen well but then again his negative and grey shaded roles were the same in every serial. It was kind of tiring to see him in the same kinds of roles all year long. He needs to introduce more variety in his roles.
Ayeza Khan:
Ayeza khan is another actress seen in many different roles last year. She was seen in shows like Shaadi Mubarak, Mera Saeein 2, Zard Mausam, Mahi Aye Ga, Kis Din Mera Viyaah Howay Ga 2, Mi Raqsam, Kaala Jaadu, Aks and Kahi AnKahi. This is one big list! She has left every other actor behind by giving 9 back to back serials in a year.
We saw her doing many grey shaded characters which proved her versatility. Her role in Zard Mausam and Aks were very much appreciated by the audiences. But seeing her in negative roles on every other channel was a bit tiresome and made the shows lose their appeal.
Zhalay Sarhadi:
Zhalay is another actress for whom 2012 has been a very successful year. She was seen in many shows like Nadamat, Aks, Madiha Maliha, Kahi Ankahi, Sabz Pari Laal Kabutar, and Daray Daray Naina. Her role in Aks and Madiha Maliha was very much similar and since they were both airing at the same time, it took away the charm of both the characters. I am personally tired of seeing her in the same roles. It was kind of surprising to see so many shows of her at the same time as she used to do limited roles before.
Sami Khan:
Sami Khan has been seen climbing the ladder of popularity these past few years. He was seen in popular shows like Meri Ladli, Kaala Jaadu, Sirat e Mustaqeem, Shaadi Mubarak, Sabz Pari Laal Kabutar, Dharay Dharay Naina, Teri Rah Mein Rul Gai Way and Mein Guneghar Nahi. But one thing which irks me about this very talented actor is his choice of roles. Why is it that in every serial he plays the guy who never gets the girl? And why does he always appear in serials produced by A & B Productions? It is extremely vexing to see him in the same kind of roles in every channel at the same time. I personally like him as an actor but a little versatility would be highly appreciated.
Mariam Shafiq.
Overacting In Current Pakistani Dramas
Overacting can sometimes be the demand of a certain scene and that is when it fits in. Most of the times, however, overacting is neither the demand of the scene nor something which the viewers enjoy watching in Pakistani dramas. There have been however quite a few instances lately when even the best of actors have been seen exaggerating their characters. Some of the channels have started airing dramas which are perhaps meant for those viewers who miss this overacting from Indian soaps.
Even the best actors in the industry seem to have been directed to give the most exaggerated expressions and overdo the scenes. So much so that some of these actors have made the most serious scenes comic because of this overacting. The responsibility for this obviously rests with the writer and director as well. Actors most often follow the directions given to them in order to meet the demands of the characters which the writers have written. But then they always have the choice of not being part of such projects which end up making people question their capabilities as an actor.
Here is the list of those actors whose overacting makes us wonder why they chose to compromise on their acting skills in order to please the producers.
Asma Abbas (Zebaish)
It is certainly sad watching someone as capable as Asma Abbas overacting to such an extent that there is nothing natural about her acting in Zebaish. Although her character has gone through a lot of serious situations in the episodes which have aired so far yet the screeching and screaming have definitely dulled the impact these tragedies could have had. Asma Abbas’ acting is usually quite ‘contained’ but in Zebaish she has gone overboard more than once. The whole drama is the perfect example of over-exaggeration.
Bushra Ansari (Zebaish)
Bushra Ansari’s fake expressions and acting in Zebaish make her scenes difficult to watch. She could have portrayed the character of the most wanted actress on screen without going over-the-top. In fact, her performance in the drama makes you question even those people in the drama who consider her a star! Why did Bushra Ansari decide to go along with such a project? Her heavy make-up and styling suggest that sometimes Bushra Ansari just chooses to be part of projects which give her a chance to get the best makeovers!
Komal Aziz (Raaz-e-Ulfat)
Komal Aziz has taken overacting to a whole new level in Raaz-e-Ulfat. The character she is playing is shallow and at times ridiculous, the way she portrays it on screen is even worse. Like all the other actors in this list, her overall look in the play is just as bad as her acting. She was bearable in Mein Na Janoo but in Raaz-e-Ulfat she is simply unbearable as Mushk. Even when Mushk is in the hospital, she is seen in full make-up. Komal Aziz definitely decided to put her looks before her performance in the drama.
Sonya Hussyn (Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida)
When Sonya Hussyn rejected to play the role of Mehwish in Mere Pass Tum Ho she gave so many intelligent reasons for doing so. She said that she had standing as an actor which is why choosing roles which belittle women in any way was never going to be an option. Well, she is playing a role similar to the one Mehwish played in Mere Pass Tum Ho, it is that of a shallow and greedy woman who will eventually ‘sell’ her husband. Everyone knows that the drama is a copy of the Bollywood film Judai and it is clear that Sonya was given special instructions to act exactly like Sri Devi in Judai. While Sri Devi’s exaggerated acting was well-suited for the big screen and people mostly enjoyed it, Sonya Hussyn’s overacting does not look good on television. Anyone who wants to know just to what extent she is copying Sri Devi, should go and watch the film which is easily available online.
Yashma Gill (Pyar Ke Sadqay)
Yashma Gill is another actress who has broken all records of overacting in drama serial Pyar Ke Sadqay. She has made sure that she puts on as much make-up as she possibly can and act as much as she possibly could which in turn led to extreme overacting. Although Shanzay’s character is negative and mostly unbearable, Yashma’s overacting makes it even more intolerable. Yashma needs to take it easy! You can’t blame the director in this case since the rest of the actors are doing so well.
Zahid Ahmed (Mohabbbat Tujhe Alvida)
What is wrong with Zahid Ahmed? First, he chose a terrible project like Mein Na Janoo to work in and now he is acting like a cute teenager who also happens to be a father in Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida. He is obviously trying to look ‘comic’ in the role but in some of the scenes watching this grown-up man acting like he is a kid is not cute at all. Zahid Ahmed’s performance in so many scenes is so exaggerated that you just want to forward his scenes.
Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida should be re-titled Acting Tujhe Alvida or Originality Tujhe Alvida!
Zara Noor Abbas (Zebaish)
Can Zara Noor Abbas please forget all about the character she played in Ehd-e-Wafa and move on! Apart from the overacting, some of the scenes have been so badly written that those scenes which should technically make you cry, actually make you laugh! Her reaction when she hears about her father’s death was the most hilarious response we have seen on television which was made even more so because of Zara’s bad acting.
Here is an example of the extreme overacting being done by Zara Noor Abbas and Asma Abbas in Zebaish! The dialogues are just as funny as the acting although this is obviously a really serious scene!

Over-styled Actresses in Pakistani Dramas
There was a time when Pakistani actresses did not rely on style and glamour at all. With the advent of private television channels, things changed drastically fast. Those of us who watched television in the 90s will agree that when NTM started airing dramas, the styling and make-up were completely different. There was more focus on making the actresses look good and the top stylists stepped in to make the actresses appear more glamorous on-screen. There was a big majority of Pakistanis even at that time who were hooked to Indian dramas. As we all know Indian dramas focus a great deal on glamour therefore the private Pakistani channels felt the need to give their viewers this ‘flavor’ in Pakistani dramas as well. Pakistani television and dramas have come a long way since then in terms of glamour in particular. Nowadays most of the top actresses have their own stylists and artists. The leading brands are more than eager to sponsor the outfits worn by these actresses since they have such a massive fan following.
It can safely be stated that the fashion and the glamour industry is working more closely with the drama industry than ever before. These actresses in their personal capacity also get their outfits sponsored. Thanks to social media, their job has become even easier. All they need to do is to post a picture on Instagram and tag the brand. Previously, these actresses needed permission from the production houses and channels to get these sponsors’ names added in the credits. There are also those brands which are being mentioned in the end credits, a practice which has given rise to even more glamour than usual. The producers are convinced that viewers like watching these over-styled actresses on screen.
There is nothing wrong with looking fashionable or stylish on-screen but the problem starts when the actresses take the styling to the extreme. When their outfits and styling are constantly changing in a single episode or when it is more than needed for a particular scene, it becomes bothersome. Lately, more than ever some of the actresses seem to use their acting projects to show the viewers their styling and dresses more than their acting expertise. While we are used to watching actresses wake up with make-up by now, the kind of styling done by these actresses took the obsession with looking glamorous to a whole new level.
Here is a list of those actresses who forgot to keep their styling subtle on screen and most of them ended up looking like a mannequin.
Sarah Khan in Sabaat
Sarah Khan is on the top of this list for a good reason, she makes sure she has a different hairstyle, make-up and wardrobe in every single scene. She also got a special gown made with her character’s name on it for the drama. When Sarah Khan was promoting Sabaat she sounded excited, most of the viewers thought it was because she was coming up with something different. Well, as it turns out, Sarah was probably more excited about being the walking and talking wardrobe more than a character viewer could relate to. Here are 3 different pictures of Sarah Khan from the same episode of Sabaat.
Not only is Sarah Khan over-styled in the drama but she is also really uncomfortable wearing those full length flared trousers. Whether she is at home or out for a walk, she has not once compromised on her style! There is also a long list of sponsors responsible for this over-styling. This explains why Sarah thought she needed to wear everything she could get her hand on – it was for free and there was plenty to choose from!
Bushra Ansari in Zebaish
Everything about drama serial Zebaish is over-the-top there it is no surprise that some of the actors working in it look over-glamorized as well. While all the characters look like they walked out of a salon even when they are going through hell, Bushra Ansari’s styling and clothes have been the most outlandish. In the first episode only, she was seen in three different outfits and looks. Even though her character is glamorous, she has not kept this glamour real. In the previous episode, her niece was kidnapped and she was worried sick but even then she changed her outfits multiple times and her styling was on point as usual.
Sohai Ali Abro in Prem Gali
Sohai Ali Abro is one of those actresses who always focus a lot on their styling and overall look in drama. This is the reason why even though her role in Prem Gali has no room for glamour yet in every episode we get to see her sporting a different hairstyle for going to college, another one when she is home, and a different look when she is going to see her neighbors! She has kept her clothes simple but even then the heavily made-up hairstyles and gaudy make-up give her an over-styled look and one that doesn’t go well with her character. Here are 3 different hairstyles she was seen sporting in the latest episode of Prem Gali.
Asma Abbas in Deewar-e-Shab
Asma Abbas played a negative character in Deewar-e-Shab. Her acting like in all her other projects was phenomenal but her styling was a completely different story! Asma Abbas went all out to look like an evil character so much so that her hair was all over the place. She wore the most hideous make-up and the most revolting accessories. This character would have been equally convincing had the styling not been so extreme.
Faiza Hassan in Nand
Faiza Hassan is another actress who is playing a negative character in Nand and she is doing so remarkably. Her styling is also over-the-top most of the time. Faiza did not get her wardrobe sponsored therefore her dresses most often are just bright but not overly out there. Her hair, make-up, and accessories are a completely different story! She is constantly seen roaming around like she is going to a party.
Yashma Gill in Pyar Ke Sadqay
Yashma Gill’s styling, accessories, and even her outfits in Pyar Ke Sadqay were completely over-the-top. In the beginning few episodes, this was not too noticeable but once she made a comeback, she had a new overdone look in every single scene. Even when she was wearing the most casual of outfits, her make-up, styling, and accessories were completely extreme. In some of the scenes, she looked like an anime character. The amount of make-up worn by Yashma Gill in the drama made it even more difficult for the viewers to take her character seriously.
Yumna Zaidi in Pyar Ke Sadqay
Yumna Zaidi does not rely on styling and glamour at all. The viewers have seen her wearing absolutely no make-up and with her natural hair in many dramas. In Pyar Ke Sadqay however, the director obviously asked her to sport a look which was cute but definitely over-styled for the character she was playing. Although Yumna’s character was from a lower-middle-class household, in the first episode, she was shown wearing a dungaree. She was also a childish and carefree young girl yet her hair was beautifully dyed and styled in curls at all times.
Bushra Ansari in Deewar-e-Shab
Bushra Ansari played a central role in drama serial Deewar-e-Shab. She played the role of a classical singer and this story covered a few decades therefore this was a young to old role. In her younger days, Bushra Ansari’s character was seen in the most bizarre hairstyles and her overall look did not suit the graceful personality of her character. Her hairstyle was the perfect example of over-styling! This was probably a hairpiece which made her look so tacky.
Komal Aziz in Raaz-e-Ulfat
Komal Aziz’s character in Raaz-e-Ulfat is over-the-top but her styling is even more so! She has made good use of the black camisole and has paired it with most of her tops. She is also seen wearing some of the tackiest headbands in the drama. Her acting is just as extra as her styling!
Zara Noor Abbas in Ehd-e-Wafa
The first scene which introduced Zara Noor Abbas’ character in Ehd-e-Wafa made it clear that her styling will continue to be extreme. Although this scene was in the college while she was giving her exams, the make-up and styling were more formal than something which would be in line with the situation being shown. Zara Noor Abbas continued to look formal in all the scenes with her curls, accessories and even her clothes styled to the max.

Over Morning Dance Of Tamasha Contestants on Ye Jawani Phir Nhi Ani Song
Tamasha is an Ary Digital show which has paved its way and now audiences have started liking the show, not only this, the public is coming up with a lot of suggestions related to the show. People are loving the camaraderie and intimacy of all the contestants but they are of the view that now the real competition in the game should be seen. The public is quicker enough to judge and respond to all the happenings in the house.
Today’s episode was a fun episode which started with morning time, all the contestants were slowly waking up on the day 6th at Tamasha house. Suddenly, the voice of music player woke all the contestants up when Yeh Jawani Phir Nahi Aani was played, many contestants started dancing to the tune of song. A few contestants including Saim & Nigga Ji did over-the-top dancing steps. Other contestants were also dancing but most of them were doing their work.
First, have a look at the video of the morning of day 6th in Tamasha house. Here is the video.
Fans didn’t like the start of the morning with dance and music. They said that instead of doing this they should do ‘Ziker’ or simply just wake up without music. One fan said, “Adnan don’t want to add G after his name as it indicates indian but they start the day while playing song like bigg boss. Why not with some Tilawat or national anthem. Plz think about it. Why their struggle wasted????” Another fan said that adding this music in morning isn’t our culture and team should not add it. Many viewers didn’t like it. Here are comments.
What do you think about the morning dance in the show? Do let us know!
Outstanding Pakistani Drama Writers
Pakistani drama industry has been blessed with some very good writers. Newcomers join the veteran writers every year which gives the viewers something new to watch. Here is a list of some of the writers whose dramas I look forward to and few things about their plays that make them stand out. I started watching Pakistani dramas only a few years back so this list will contain the names of new writers. No writer is perfect, there have been times when all of these writers gave us scripts that were not as impressive as most of the work they have done. So, my opinion is based on majority of their work. Please feel free to add to the list.
Umera Ahmed
Umera Ahmed needs absolutely no introduction, she is the writer behind memorable plays like Doraha, Daam, Mere Zaat Zar-e-Benishaan, Qaid-e-Tanhai, Maat, Shehr e Zaat, Durr-e-Shehwar and the list is never-ending. I am certain that there are many viewers who have watched and liked Umera Ahmed’s plays without even giving much thinking to who the writer of the play was. The plays that I mentioned in the list are those which can easily be termed as classics. Only an incredibly talented writer can give so many hits.
What makes Umera Ahmed an exceptional writer is the fact that her dramas are very meaningful with a lot of depth. Her dialogues are quoted over and over again because they are so good. Her stories are original, something that is very rare nowadays when many of our writers are inspired by foreign dramas. And most importantly Umera Ahmed is one of the very few writers whose dramas are family dramas.
Umera Ahmed may not be the queen of characterization but there is hardly ever a time when she loses her focus. The most important aspect of Umera Ahmed’s writings is that she takes up issues that are sensitive, those issues that have something to do with our social set up. This makes it easier for people to relate to her plays. Another aspect of Umera Ahmed’s plays that cannot be ignored is that almost all her plays had a very good ending. There are many plays by other writers which were hits but they did not have a good ending so people were very disappointed, a recent example would be Bilquees Kaur.
Samira Fazal
Samira Fazal is the woman behind the most memorable drama of recent times, Dastan, she is the writer who wrote the script of one of the most engaging dramas of all times Mera Naseeb. There are many other unforgettable scripts that were penned down by Samira Fazal like that of Khamoshiyan, Mere Pass Pass, Mastana Mahi, Mera Saeein and recently her play Bari Apa kept people glued to their seats. Her play Shak nowadays is also doing very well too.
What I like about this writer the best is that her characters are very well established most of the times. Even if a person does not enjoy the story of the play he is bound to retain his interest in the characters, Her characters are never black and white. some of them are just as complicated as real people, they have their good and bad sides. Other than that Samira Fazal’s scripts very often are more engaging and happening than the scripts of other writers. Her plays are also unpredictable with many unexpected twists and turns, secrets one could never have imagined which make the viewers at the edge of their seat.
Samira Fazal has the honor of showing some of the most sweet mother in law’s in the history of our dramas in her play. She obviously finds no pleasure in showing the evil saas or the saas bahu fights. Recently the play Kabhi Kabhi does show such a scenario but if you look at most of her work than you will see that the sass’s in her dramas are very reasonable characters. She focuses more on the ups and downs that couples face due to other personal reasons and not because of the interruption of outside forces.
Faiza Iftikhar
Faiza Iftikhar is another drama writer who is basically a novelist but has made a very good name for herself in the drama industry. She has written many famous dramas like Aik Nayee Cinderella, Thakan, Bilquees Kaur, Mohabat Rooth Jaye Tu, Tishnagi and more recently Aunn Zara and Khoya Khoya Chand. The best thing about Faiza Iftikhar is that her scripts are always different from each other. The viewers do not know what she will be coming up with next. Just like Samira Fazal, her characters are very lovable.
Her scripts always carry great weight with an important message but she does so in a very entertaining way. Her heroines stand out because of their unique characteristics, take Bilquess Kaur for instance, she was one of a kind! The only problem with her dramas is that usually the endings are not satisfying enough. Other than that this talented writer is quite capable of writing scripts that leave an impact on the viewers.
Farhat Ishtiaq
Farhat Ishtiaq is the queen of romance. She wrote masterpieces like Hamsafar, Mata-e-Jaan and Rehaii. Pakistani drama fans are impatiently looking forward to her upcoming play Bin Royee Ansoo, which is based on a very famous novel written by Farhat Ishtiaq. When I watched Hamsafar and Mata-e-Jaan I thought that Farhat ishtiaq could only write romantic scripts but when I watched Rehaii my view about her changed. Rehaii had been written superbly. It dealt with a very sensitive issue but it was done very nicely. Some of the dialogues were so moving that they stayed with you for a while. The whole drama was very entertaining apart from being educational.
One common aspect of Farhat Ishtiaq’s writings is that her characters relationship with each other is based on very intense emotions. Her main characters are most often sweet and sensitive hence very endearing. Just like Umera Ahmed, Farhat Ishtiaq keeps her focus on the main story which is one of the reasons why her dramas are very engaging.
Share how you feel about these writers and feel free to add new names to the list. There are some other writers who have written a lot of plays lately like Amna Mufti and Maha Malik. Do you think they fall in the same league?

Our safety should be our priority rather than taking photos: Man falls into Neelum River while clicking a photo
Travelling to the Neelum Valley, the family stopped their car by the roadside near Sathriyan in Athmuqam, some 80 kilometres from Muzaffarabad.
They decided to take some photos by the banks of the Neelum River.
Locals rushed to the spot to help fish him out but failed to save him.
This is an important reminder for everyone that safety comes first.
Our Reply To Faseeh Bari Using Degrading Language For Bloggers
A list comprising of the most memorable performances of the decade was posted on Reviewit a few days back. This was a list based on the personal choices of the leading writers on this website and more of an attempt to start a discussion about these performances. Everyone was asked to add more names and this was definitely by no means the final verdict. It was an effort of Reviewit.pk to appreciate and acknowledge the commendable work that has been done in the last 10 years.
Reviewit always welcomes criticism and this is definitely not the first time that a writer has shown ‘discontent’ with the views shared on this platform. This is however the first time that a writer thought it was alright for him to label the content writers on Reviewit in particular and others in general as ‘dogs who bark’! We are talking about this status shared by Faseeh Bari Khan which we would have gladly missed had someone not tagged us!
Faseeh Bari Khan, who says that he couldn’t care less about the opinion of these so-called bloggers and considers them dogs who bark needlessly, is actually quite welcoming of all the praise that comes his way through these ‘bloggers’ and ‘so-called critics’. We request people to visit his Facebook page to see that he has not removed the tags from any of those videos which are shared on his page that praise his dramas and him.
We understand that Faseeh Bari was ‘disappointed’ with the list posted on Reviewit but is this really the way to share your frustration? A writer who calls other people dogs for having an opinion different from his own thinks he somehow is intellectually superior. More upsetting is the fact that so many other writers who actually share content from Reviewit on a regular basis also agreed with him and did not call him out for his choice of words. The fact is that the writers on Reviewit are more honest than they are on any other website and they are the most read as well (Google statistics!). The reason for this is that Reviewit has never posted paid material or lists based on PR even though we have been repeatedly approached and sometimes even pressurized by PR agencies of different celebrities to write in their favor. Only because the leading writers do not share and post behind-the-scene information on the website makes the writers think that they can say whatever they feel like.
We would like to ask Faseeh Bari, would he allow the bloggers to use the same words for him too if they do not like his content? He is a great writer but he is also human so surely he can make a mistake every now and then too. And when he does would that mean the bloggers should also belittle him in the same manner? He has a wonderful sense of humor and he is great at satire, surely he could have voiced his frustrations and disappointments in a more meaningful and less demeaning manner. The writers on Reviewit.pk are known to be brutally honest when it comes to their opinion but they have never once used the kind of language Faseeh has in voicing his opinion.
The fact that he thinks that the writers on Reviewit are ‘burgers’ who despise his ‘masterpiece’ Quddusi Sahab Ki Bewa just goes to show that he has never even read the content on the website. Since the drama has not once been discussed on this platform in a positive or negative manner.
Faseeh Bari Khan you call us ‘jahil’ yet your status speaks volumes of how well-mannered and cultured you are yourself. It was also sad to see actors such as Seemi Raheel supporting him just because some of her favorites (including herself) were not on the list. Another writer Edison Idrees Masih also agreed with Faseeh’s notion. We also understand why Edison felt the need to do so because while the rest of the crowd was busy praising his work, Reviewit.pk was the only website that called him out for blatantly copying Bollywood’s Blockbuster Saathiya’s entire story and using it as a script for his Sajal Aly-Imran Abbas starer drama serial Noor ul Ain. We are sure that if Noor ul Ain had gotten positive reviews, Edison Idrees Masih would have never left such a comment.
At this point, fans and followers are flocking to Reviewit to remind the writers that they missed Hina Dilpazeer’s name, which is perfectly alright and they are more than welcome to do so, but it is upsetting that Faseeh has instigated it in a negative manner and the ripple effect is in full swing. However, those fans could have done so before his Facebook post since the comments section under that particular article was already open ever since it was posted. All the readers were time and again encouraged and reminded that they are free to add more names to the list, rather than making it all about the fact that the leading and experienced writers forgot to add the rest of the names. Faseeh should have used the same approach that instead of insinuating it in such an uncouth manner, he simply could’ve shared and added the names that he felt deserved the attention.
We mostly ignore such posts by writers, producers, and actors but this time around the language used in the status was simply unacceptable therefore it was important to give a reply to a writer who should practice what he preaches – an open-minded approach and less jahalat perhaps while choosing his wording. This is definitely not the first time the writers of Reviewit.pk have been attacked in such a manner but the only question we feel should be asked is when they don’t mind the praises, why is it so hard for them to accept the criticism, or in this case lack thereof because his masterpiece was not even covered on Reviewit.pk.
Since we believe in transparency and honesty, we would still like to thank him for stating ‘jinke ikhtiyar mai social media ka chabuk hai’, because it goes to show that he very well knows and acknowledges the power of Reviewit and we are glad to see that amidst his frustration, he ended up proving how credible we are! We have worked really hard for almost a decade writing credible content for this website and for ensuring that it stays among the best and surely your opinion about ‘bloggers’ and ‘critics’ does not demean their value. The very fact that you read this article, shared it, and you were so frustrated that one of your characters wasn’t acknowledged goes to show the value of the feedback Reviewit.pk writers give. When we write these articles, we make sure we are not writing to please anyone therefore when someone from the entertainment fraternity, in particular, criticizes, we accept it as a natural outcome.
We would also like to thank all those wonderful people who reached out to us in private and extended their support. It is because of people like you that we know hard work pays off, thank you. We are ready to move on, starting with new-found energy and motivation thanks to all your love.
Our friends Played Major Part In Connecting Us

Our Educated Celebrities!
We often hear about celebrities who dropped out of school in order to make it big in the competitive world of showbiz, but there are also major stars who knew that they could only benefit from a top-notch education. They earned a good education, even worked for the field they specialized in but later their passion for acting made them switch careers.
The famous people in the video below have earned their degrees at some of the most well known university and it’s time we give them a big round of applause for all their amazing achievements and hard work.
Our Drama Industry Is Bigger Despite International defamation Campaign
Ahsan Khan has said in his show that our dramas are growing well even if internationally people are trying to defame and deconstruct us, it is of no use because we are growing. He took a clear cut jab at India where their actors actually bad mouth our actors and mostly say that if we will ban them they won’t get work.
Ahsan said we have become an enormous drama industry and have got internationally recognized so these strategies won’t melign us.
He said this when Faizan Khuwaja told him that” In 2014 I left showbiz and went to New York City and I was standing at Time Square I bumped into alot of indians and Pakistanis for selfies, they recognized me so well and said that you know we are big pakistani drama fans then I thought its my call and I decided to get back”.
Ahsan khan said yes now we have reached way ahead.
Naveen Also added that we’ve come a long way and really worked hard for that and we need to try to be good and positive as I have noticed since quite a few days every body is taking jabs at other on social media dont do that, it will make those happy who want to deconstruct us. Try to make each other and support your co stars.
She said I support all of my female colleagues.
Faizan Khuwaja also said taking dig at someone and get famous should be ended, these things are way too negative to be practiced. Try to be positive.
Our Award Shows Put Us To Shame
There is so much on our television that makes us proud but sadly enough there are also many things that put us to shame. The electronic media reflects the social norms of a society and unfortunately watching our morning shows and some of the dramas in particular points to the fact that we are fast turning into a very materialistic society with no cultural values. But the one thing on television that truly puts the viewers to shame are our award functions, there is no limit to the vulgarity that is depicted in these award show. The artists who we love and adore because when we see them in dramas we feel they are one of us, seem like people from Bollywood or even Hollywood! Some of our actresses and models feel that they must show their bodies in order to show the world just how modern they are. They have no respect for the sentiments of their fans even and of course no shame.
There are societies in which it is very common and also in fashion to show off your body but is our society one of them? I have to say that unfortunately some people want that our society should be one of them. Not only this, the cheap dances and performances in these award shows make me cringe, is this really us? Is this who we are? Do these people really represent Pakistan? Most certainly NOT. Who are we following? And most of all who are we fooling? What will we get out of leaving behind our values and picking up Western values. They say that if showing your skin was an indication of being modern and cultured than animals should be considered the most modern race, I wish all our celebrities who think that it is very “cool” to show all that skin would know that.
The viewers criticized the Hum TV awards so much because of all the cheap performances and the vulgar dresses that most of the female celebrities were wearing but the recently held Tarang Housefull Awards followed the same path. This attitude on the part of the organizers and our celebrities shows that they have no respect for the sentiments of the public. They blindly follow the neighboring country because it seems like they have this strange desire to compete with them in vulgarity. Have we completely forgotten that the reason so many people sacrificed their lives to get a separate homeland for Muslims was that we could safeguard our identities? People who are so impressed by the Indian culture are destroying the true identity of the people living in Pakistan with their own hands. They have forgotten that we have a very rich culture of our own which we should work hard to promote and protect. On the contrary, we spend money and put it in extra effort to promote things that have nothing to do with out culture.
How many of you want to see such award shows? Do you think that these award shows show the identity of our people? Does the respect of the celebrities who participate in such shows increase or decrease in your eyes? It is the duty of every Pakistani to show their discontent with these shows, so that the organizers of these shows know that we do not want to see all this vulgarity being promoted in our society. We would much rather see shows that are simple and not that colorful but in line with our culture and identity. We do not wish to put our traditions and individuality on stake just to be entertained for a short while. Please project the right image of our country, don’t make fun of our values just to make some money. If there are other people who feel the same way, feel free to express your thoughts in the comment section, we must speak up against this vulgarity.

Our Actors Can’t Say Single Word To Indian Actors
Amir liaqat has said that our Actors may also participate in the war of words with Indian Actors only if they have certainty and assurance that they are not going to be casted in Raees 2.
He said we will do this thing like war of words with Indians because we don’t have to do anything in India , we are poor people and are here to fight for the right and for Pakistan.
He had replied to Rishi Kapoor too in past in 2017 during champions trophy .
He said adnan sami has to prove himself a loyal Indian and for that he speaks hateful words for Pakistan because his survival is difficult otherwise. He said Adnan Sami is selling his hate for Pakistan in India as it is bought there,he is cashing his hate for Pakistan. Amir liaqat has said he is a traitor.
Amir Liaqat has also said that, ” despite our differences with Adnan Sami Khan we love Azaan Sami khan and he said himself a Pakistani so we hug him on this declaration. He is Pakistani and we respect him.

OSTs THAT HAVE MESMERIZED ME!
Our Producers are now not only just producing good dramas but I have been noticing lots of variety in dramas’ OSTs as well. If you look at some previous dramas the OSTs were usually slow but now the composers are doing a perfect job by including variety in it. Now in OSTs I can hear lots of drum and electric guitar as well. As I have mentioned earlier our dramas’ OSTs are now much better in comparison with Bollywood films’ songs. Literally if our OSTs are promoted alongside dramas then to be honest people will stop listening to Indian songs but the fact is that people pay little heed towards drama songs. Now we have to make people aware that they should listen to OSTs as well.
Another good thing is that as Drama Industry is only recognising our singers so you will find many talented singers singing soundtracks with their heart touching voices. Now talking about OSTs I will give a loud shout to Sahir Ali Bhagga and Waqar Ali who are the masterminds. Honestly I am in love with their different compositions and the way they compose music is totally distinctive and unique, they are setting perfect example of innovation in music.
Hence my topic is to get familiarise you guys with the OSTs that I use to listen and I cannot simply pass my day without listening to even one OST. You can say it’s my mandatory everyday medicine and honestly speaking I mostly listens to Pakistani Songs now how patriotic I am. So here is a list of soundtracks that I have burnt by listening to it everyday. I have posted a video link so that you can also try some OSTs from my list that you haven’t listened before:
Humsafar OST: This OST tops in my chart and not only in my chart but I guess in everyone’s chart and that’s why on YouTube you can see 2.7 million views of this OST, the most highest rated OST. Tremendously composed by Waqar Ali and flawlessly sung by Qurat-ul-Ain Baloch.
Khuda Aur Muhabbat OST: This is my second best OST and again probably others as well because on YouTube there are 2.5 million views of this song, second highest rated song after Humsafar. Ahmed Jahnzeib had done a wonderful job by singing this soundtrack.
Meri Zaat Zara-e-Benishan OST: I must say that this was not only a heart touching drama but its OST also contains pain. The singer needs absolutely no introduction as he is Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. I still remembered when I listened to this OST after watching the drama I feel like crying.
Dastaan OST(Aasmano se): This brilliant drama needs no explanation but I am also speechless in describing the beauty of this soundtrack. As soon as I started listening to the starting lines “ Aasmano se utara noor hai koi aisa lagta hai jese hoor hai koi” I close my eyes until song finishes. Sohail Hiader indeed got a soulful voice.
Zindagi Gulzar Hai OST: I will talk about both the one that was sung by Hadiqa and one by Ali Zafar. Still I didn’t find the reason why two OSTs had been sung for one drama but any ways both OSTs are great. Hadiqa and Ali Zafar both have done a commendable job. I mostly listens to Hadiqa’s one.
Thori Si Wafa Chaiye OST: Another brilliant piece of work by Waqar ali and great performance by Rahat. Now I know why people are crazy about rahat, he sings every song according to the theme and his voice automatically connects with the scenario. Although I have never watched this drama but the OST video will explain you the whole drama, any ways I love to listen this OST.
NEEYAT OST: When the powers are combined then Captain OST will be formed. Yes I am talking about Sajjad Ali and Waqar Ali. I still remembered the day when I listened to this OST and how I fell in love with this soundtrack and I had replayed it almost 25 times in a day. A masterpiece by both brothers and a must listen OST.
Aik Naye Cinderella OST(YAR-E-MAN): Not only the drama will take you to the Disney land, but its OST as well. Splendidly sung by a living legend Javed Bashir with a touch of qawwali. This soundtrack is a great example of variety in OSTs and I will recommend others to listen to this track.
Meri Beti OST(Bhoola na yeh dil): The powers are again combined to produce this lovely OST. Sajjad Ali’s voice never failed to mesmerize me and again he won my heart through this OST, but here specially I will give credit to lyricist. This line sounds very close to real life “ Zindagi youn tujhe kabhi socha nahi jee liye us tarah jese chaha nahi”. This drama may failed in direction but its OST has not failed in waqar ali’s composition.
Darmiyan OST: Before I comment on Nabeel’s Voice I need to salute Sahir Ali Bhagga on its awesome compostion. The lameness of this drama cannot be described the only good thing is its OST great job Nabeel!
MeriI Zindagi Hai Tu OST: Another good story spoiled through dragging and direction, this drama may failed to attract audience but its OST succeeded. If you are in a romantic mood and wants to listen to a romantic song then this soundtrack is a best choice. This soundtrack is on my hit list and I listen to this song 4 to 5 times in a day. Awesome comeback by nouman Javaid by singing this OST.
Sannata OST(Zihaal-e-Miskeen): Listening to this soundtrack means mind=blown. Don’t know but this soundtrack give me some sort of energy and motivation probably because of energetic music and I cannot stop myself to listen to this song on a daily basis. We can never expect bad from Sahir Ali Bhagga, this person is surely a complete institution.
Aasmano Pe Likha OST: As soon as I had listened to this OST for the very first time I started searching for the singer name and finally I got his name as Adeeb Ahmed. Where was this man before? He has sung it with a complete feel and there is saying in Urdu “Doob ke Gana aur mehsoos karke Gaana” he had absolutely sung in that way. Indeed a very catchy OST.
Zindagi Tere Bina OST: If you want to know the class of Nabeel’s singing then just listen to this OST. The whole credit of this OST goes to Nabeel I think no one could have ever better sung this song except Nabeel. I listen to this on a daily basis, Nabeel said that Darmiyan was his best soundtrack but I will say this is his best soundtrack. This has to be the top ten OST of 2014.
Do Qadam Door Thay OST: When two talented young guns meet then you will get this type of OST. Another title track that I have burnt by replaying it again and again. Nida Arab and Nabeel both have done absolute justice to this song and Waqar Ali how many surprises do you have please tell me? This is his another masterpiece.
Ranjish Hi Sahi OST: This drama is just a masterpiece by A&B Productions. This OST is a great conversion to an energetic song from Mehdi Hassan’s popular ghazal. Alycia Dias you had me once again and please can anyone tell me the name of composer and male singer. This song is also included in my daily medication.
Shareek-e-Hayat OST: This OST is a perfect example of dynamics. I have never listened to such a soothing, mesmerizing and melodious song. First of all I cannot believe that this is a soundtrack, if this would be an Indian movie song its views are touching in millions. This magic is only in Sahir’s voice, beautiful just beautiful.
AUNN ZARA OST: If you want some dhammal then Aunn Zara OST is the best choice and other great thing is that this OST portrays the perfect dhammal of this drama. A great Punjabi and Urdu mixed Bhangra OST. This has to be in TOP TEN OSTs of 2013 at least in my opinion.
Takay Ki Ayegi Baraat song: Although the song is in pure Punjabi but it refreshes my mind and I ends up my depression by listening to this song. You can say it is my weird choice but this song had 1.8 million views on YouTube.
Mere Qatil Mere Dildar: Personally I am not a fan of Sara but I am must say that she had sung this OST flawlessly and with an absolute feel thereby attracting me towards it. Half a million views on YouTube is an example how lovely this OST is.
Other OSTS that I listen but rarely: Shukk OST, Kanakr OST, RUBARU OST, Bunty I love You OST, Zindagi Dhoop tum Ghana Saaya OST and Wafa Kaisi Kahan ka Ishq.
Therefore these are the only OSTs that have mesmerized me, so update me with your OST’s that you love to listen? Please share your choices.

OST Of Upcoming Hum Tv Play “Khamoshi”
Hum Tv’s new play Khamoshi has us all excited and looking forward as it seems to offer something different. The leads are Affan Waheed and Iqra Aziz, the latter in a negative role this time.
They have just released the OST of the play, sung by Bilal Khan and Schumaila Hussain. The OST is not as impressive as the promos of this upcoming serial. There seems to be a lack of harmony between the singers. Nonetheless, we all still look forward to what Khamoshi has to offer its audience.
