I will hold her hand tightly and would take her towards the gate, so that she doesn’t waste time in further discussions, I will hold her tightly, so she won’t leave me again. I think no one will come to meet me on Eid but yes, I am hopeful, as Allah says, never lose hope”. Here is the link to the video:

Women Kabaddi got viral in Pakistan!

0

In this male dominated society, women are trying really hard to match up their pace and contribute their share in the development of the country. Like other domains of entertainment, the women of Pakistan have had been showing some great performances in the field of sports but as per the latest sports been introduced among the women here in Pakistan, there are people who think there should be some limitations when it comes to women and sports.

Kabaddi is one of those famous sports which are causally associated with the bodybuilders of Punjab who are known for their build and their intelligence in this sport. However, recently, a team of 25 women is representing Pakistan in India in the series of Kabaddi where women of both the countries are found fighting in the field.

See video here

Being a woman myself, it seems a bit odd to find the delicate souls fighting horribly, climbing over one another publicly just for the sake of some popularity and money which obviously is a matter of chance. It is a high time now that the people of this country should start questioning their moral values before performing such stunts publicly.

Leaving you with a point to reconsider, few things are just meant to be for women, What do you say?

All for now, share your views on the said topic please.

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Pakistani drama writers are often seen talking about how there are hardly 12 or 13 scenarios around which the stories revolve and then they are used to create dramas. However, it is also seen that once a storyline does well and a drama becomes popular, more and more drama writers end up sticking to the formula and without experimenting much, they use the same plot to come up with a story. It is also because they know this is going to work and will bring in the ratings that they and the channels are mostly after.

One such subject is love triangles and it won’t be wrong to say that almost all the Pakistani dramas that the viewers are getting to see in recent times are based on this particular theme with two women fighting over a man. These two women could be wives, ex-lovers, ex-spouses, colleagues, or even a sister seen fighting with the wife of her brother. Pakistani drama makers have made a clear-cut point that they may be short on stories, but they are never short on love triangles and messiest ones at that because they keep on reusing and repacking these stories.

It is not only monotonous to see these types of characters with women only wishing to win over a man of her dreams, what’s amusing is that half, in fact, most of the times, but these men also are not even worth the attention they are being given by multiple women in the dramas. In Pakistani dramas, the writers end up showing the power and authority that the men have with women literally going out of the way to win a spot in their lives. It goes to show that the writers like to reinforce the fact that a woman is nothing without a man and for girls as young as teenagers, their only motive should be to bag a proposal of a man of her dreams, even if the reality ends up being nothing short of a nightmare.

In this list, we talk about all the messiest love triangles that we have seen in recent dramas:

[lwptoc]

Nisha, Asfand, Misha (Jalan)

Who doesn’t remember Jalan and who doesn’t remember the lengths Misha, played by Minal Khan went to in order to not only destroy the life and marriage of her sister Nisha but also to grab the man she thought was just perfect and had everything that she ever dreamt of. There was absolutely nothing amusing or fun about this scenario but the hours, if not minutes taken by Misha to realize that Asfand wasn’t making her happy made this entire situation quite humorous.

This drama was a clear-cut case of producers bent on grabbing the ratings, without even thinking about what they were showing in the drama. Nisha tried her best to put up a fight but she had no idea the evil she was faced with in the form of her younger sister. It is not only alarming but frustrating to see the rise in sister rivalry again in Pakistani drama, that too where sisters are pit against each other only because they want to be with the same man!

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Nisha, Ahmer, Areej (Jalan)

Yes, drama serial Jalan didn’t hold back in breaking all the records in negativity. This is exactly why the same girl got tangled in yet another messy triangle where she wanted to get back with Ahmer, her ex-fiance after he got married to Areej. Areej was your typical achi wali larki who spent her entire life worshipping Ahmer. In the end, her niceness melted Ahmer’s heart, and just when they were about to begin to enjoy their marital bliss, Nisha struck again with a baton in her hand and laser beams in her eyes.

There was a sickening scene in this drama where just after losing her father, Nisha tries to create a misunderstanding between Ahmer and Areej by placing a lipstick mark on his coat. I mean the writer definitely deserves applause for coming up with this scenario because it was definitely the first in Pakistani drama. It is amusing that all this while, the Pakistani audience have made fun of Indian content but who knew few years down the lane, there will be writers like Sidra Seher Imran who grew up watching Starplus and they’d come up writing more or less similar content.

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Amal, Mikaal, Annie (Dulhan)

Oh dear, Mashal Khan played the exact same role that she played in Thora Sa Haq; of technically the second wife who was psychotically in love with her cousin. In the drama serial Dulhan, there were quite a few scenes between Amal and Annie where they both tried to own Mikaal in order to prove to one another that he belonged to him. Although Amal, played by Sumbul Iqbal ended up coming to terms with the reality that this was a messy situation but every chance she got, she did give Annie a run for her money.

Annie barely had the energy to stand up but when it came to Mikaal she turned into this iron lady who was ready to chop Amal’s head off, without even realizing that her psychotic behavior was never going to make her happy in the first place and out of all her concerns, her mental health should’ve been her priority.

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Shireen, Adan, Soumya (Kasa e Dil)

This triangle has kind of just begun where Soumya played by Hina Altaf has now come to Adan’s house but on her very first day, Soumya didn’t hold back in telling Shireen that she was technically Adan’s first wife because they had their Nikkah before Adan got married to Shireen. Shireen is playing her evil games where she is putting up her best act in front of Adan but in reality, she is weaving a trap for Soumya so that she can drift her and Adan apart.

It is also amusing that Soumya is ready to even fight with Adan’s mother because she has told her that her husband can not live without her! Soumya has fallen in love with Adan but sadly, there are so many people who wish ill for Soumya, not sure why she is so important for everyone in the first place. Komal Aziz Khan is always the second woman in every scenario, we definitely think she should experiment more and take up roles where she is the priority of a man in the drama for a change.

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Nageen, Haroon, Ramsha (Deewangi)

This seemed like a tact of the drama makers to drag the drama because Deewangi became quite popular and did well on TRP charts. This is exactly why they brought in Haroon’s ex-girlfriend who after getting a divorce was ready to get settled again the next day her iddat ended. Talk about being desperate, so much so that Ramsha ended up partnering with Sultan Durrani to create misunderstandings between Haroon and Nageen, played by Ali Abbas and Hiba Bukhari.

Nageen was right in her own perspective where she failed to let go of her husband but what made her character hard to tolerate was the fact that despite the faith Haroon put in her, she failed to come clean and tell him the truth. The panting and breathlessness of Nageen made her a very difficult character to sympathize with, but yes, this drama was full of such triangles, they could’ve easily named it tikon-gee!

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Mehmal, Haider, Dilnasheen (Fitoor)

The new triangle in town in yet another Geo TV drama is seen in Fitoor. Mehmal rejected Haider and his love because she wanted to get married to a rich and wealthy man, she had big dreams and aspirations. She did however find herself that kind of a person but he was never emotionally invested in her, only for her to realize that Haider was her true love. Mehmal has now created such a situation where she is ready to divorce her husband and has left his home. She is now happily camping at Haider’s place and making sure that Haider doesn’t pay attention to his young wife Dilnasheen, played by Hiba Bukhari.

Dilnasheen was already in love with someone else but after getting pressurized by her family ended up agreeing to her marriage to Haider. Dilnasheen has realized that Mehmal is very much in love with her husband, this is why she subtlely tried to score brownie points by literally baking brownies and cooking food for him. Duh! This is the best fight Dilnasheed could come up with. This entire triangle is amusing to watch because Mehmal is quite vocal about her feelings whereas Dilnasheen jingles her bangles to grab Haider’s attention. Sigh!

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Mehru, Shahjahan, Ayat (Meherposh)

This was yet another Geo TV drama with yet another sibling rivalry. Mehru fell in love with Shahjahan but after finding out that her younger sister Ayat was also in love with the same guy, she backed out. However, Mehru sported a forlorn face throughout the drama which was a clear-cut message to Shahjahan as well as Ayat that she was sulking deep down and was just unhappy. Mehru also tried settling for another guy but that didn’t happen because her sister passed away and Shahjahan was free of his liabilities.

Till the time Ayat was alive, she left no stone unturned in fighting with her sister to win Shahjahan over, so much so that she even decided to poison her sister, thinking this would kill her and then she will be able to have Shahjahan’s undivided attention. Although Mehru’s fights were because she wanted to be with Shahjahan but more or less, he was always the reason behind it!

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Raima, Saif ur Rehman, Farkhanda (Muqaddar)

This triangle was so cringing that it put all the cringe-worthy content to shame. It turned out to be this way because viewers expected something better from Raima, played by Madiha Imam. She not only got forcefully married to Saif ur Rehman, just because he provided her with luxury and a bit of love, but she also ended up falling for him so hard that she decided it would be fun to spice up her boring life by standing against his first wife who was already dealing with so many complexes.

It was literally annoying to see Farkhanda and Raima talking to each other about how they are the Queens in Saif ur Rehman’s life. Raima was shown to be an RJ, an educated girl who had big dreams therefore to see her turning into such a typical aunty was offputting. This kind of behavior was obviously expected of Farkhanda because she didn’t have any other life than this but to see Raima deriving sadistic pleasure by rubbing the love she was getting from Saif ur Rehman on Farkhanda’s face was plain vile.

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Sneha, Faraz, Tara (Mohabbatain Chahatain)

This is the kind of triangle drawn by a toddler when he holds the marker for the first time, it just wasn’t right and didn’t even have to exist in the first place. Sneha and Faraz were madly in love but it took only one bet by Tara to destroy their happy marriage. Sneha also tried to put up a fight but she failed in front of Tara who was quite cunning and manipulative.

Faraz was just as clueless but then what can you expect from a man like him who was no catch, to begin with getting an ego boost seeing how important he was for two women. This was quite a cringe triangle, to begin with, and later seeing how far it went was crazy. Not to forget the intolerable expressions and acting of Armeena Rana Khan and the poorest get-up of Hira Mani made it an even harder task to watch Mohabbatain Chahatain.Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Mahi, Ali, Sara (Tera Ghum Aur Hum)

Tera Ghum Aur Hum was actually quite appealing in the first few weeks. It seemed as if for a change the viewers would get to watch a love triangle in which the man was not going to be swayed away by the other woman’s charm. However, as the story progressed Ali (the man we had so many hopes attached to) turned into yet another one of those fools who fall for every single lie being told to them and end up ruining their relationship with their significant other, in this case, Mahi. Mahi’s character actually got so annoying at one point that instead of feeling for her, the viewers had reasons to hold her responsible since the story was presented in such a way. The writer made a conscious effort to hold the women responsible and Ali was always shown as the helpless man who tried his best most of the time!

Sara always loved Ali but Ali loved Mahi. Since Mahi was always told by her cousin Sara that she wasn’t pretty or stylish enough, she had a really low opinion of herself. Even after getting married to Ali Mahi’s inferiority complex got the best of her and her overly nice behavior prevented her from keeping Sara away from her husband! Mahi tried to ‘fight’ for Ali often enough but just like all the other dramas on this list, the other woman i.e Sara was always pursuing Ali with much more desperation! Ultimately, in a weird turn of events Ali ended up entering into a nikkah with Sara and that is when we got to watch yet another dusri biwi situation in which both the wives were constantly trying really hard to get the man’s attention. Sara even faked a pregnancy and aborted Mahi’s baby by giving her the pills she was not supposed to take while she was expecting yet somehow all that was brushed under the carpet later on. The ending of this drama had to be the worst since Sara did not only get away with everything but was actually presented as a hero in the end! Tera Ghum Aur Hum went downhill towards the end and turned out to be another pointless drama in which women fought for a useless man for the longest time.

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Seher, Zamin, Hareem (Thora Sa Haq)

Thora Sa Haq was another popular drama serial that had a massive viewership. The writer definitely took inspiration from Hamsafar while penning down the part covering Zamin’s accidental and sudden marriage to Seher but Hamsafar made much more sense since everyone was given time to think about the decision. Zamin’s father forced him to enter into a nikkah with his brother’s daughter while the brother was on his death bed even though Zamin was already engaged and in love with his cousin Hareem! This had to be the most unreasonable nikkah scene in drama history! The absurdity did not end there, Zamin and his father both kept on waiting for the ‘right time’ to inform Hareem and her family about the nikkah but ultimately Zamin ended up telling Hareem right at the time of their nikkah!!! Thora Sa Haq’s script was as crazy as it gets since Hareem, even after hearing the truth, decided to get married to Zamin since that was the only way that the writer could have pitched these women against each other for 30 plus weeks! Just like in all the other such scenarios Seher was the bechari, the one who endured everything from verbal insults to thappars while Hareem fought for ‘her man’ by shouting, screaming, crying, plotting, and what not!

Hareem’s mother supported her daughter and went the extra mile to plot and plan against Seher! Zamin was conveniently turned into a bechara and one of those many men in Pakistani dramas who are married to two women at the same time but don’t know what to do with their lives. Our writers definitely enjoy showing this clash between modern and traditional women and they always make sure that the duppata clad woman is always the one who gets the viewers’ sympathies! Thora Sa Haq was an overdose of women fighting over a man who did not even deserve either of them. This was also a classic case of confusion as to how the actual ‘other woman’ was! That is another interesting paradox in Pakistani dramas; sometimes you have no idea which woman is the other woman in the relationship.

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Ulfat, Shahaan, Shafaq (Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida)

Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida did not just have a central track where women were constantly shown fighting over a man. This drama definitely took this scenario to a different level because the first wife Ulfat sold her husband to the second one, Shafaq. The man, Shahaan, as is always the case was the victim! The poor man was forced into marrying a beautiful business woman who gave up everything for him!! Ulfat was so sure that her husband could not love anyone else except her therefore she confidently married him off so that she could live the life she always dreamed of.

The real fight started once Shahaan fell in love with Shafaq and that is when both these wives were constantly trying their best to get the other one out of the way. This was another such drama that had the most bizarre ending. The story never had a lot of substance since it was actually an extension of a 2-hour film and clearly, the writer’s sole purpose was to make the viewers feel for Ulfat even after she went as far as selling her husband! Even though Shafaq was introduced as a confident young woman, her insecurities and plotting after marriage was just as bad as any other such woman in dramas. Once again, this was also the kind of situation in which it was difficult to tell who was at fault and who the other woman was!

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Anaya, Hassan, Miraal (Sabaat)

In Pakistani dramas, women fight over men not just because they are in love with the same man but sometimes the scenario can be different (but equally annoying) as was the case with the drama serial Sabaat. Miraal was the controlling sister who did not want her brother Hassan to get married to the love of his life Anaya. However, he ultimately got married to her and that is when Miraal did everything in her power to win her brother back! The kind of obsessive plotting we got to witness in this drama was the next level of craziness for sure!

Even though Anaya did her best to save her marriage, her good-for-nothing husband eventually fell for the lies and that is when Miraal won! Anaya fought for her marriage and was a likable character but Miraal fought to break this marriage as if she had nothing else to do in life! In the end, it was Miraal who pleaded Anaya to take Hassan back so once again the man was just in the middle getting fooled and being completely useless!

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Mahjabeen, Abdullah, Shanzay (Pyar Ke Sadqay)

Pyar Ke Sadqay was a brilliant piece of writing because it had some of the most unconventional leading characters we have seen in Pakistani dramas. However, the writer could not dodge the bullet which it seems was needed to prolong the drama! This drama could have easily focused on Mahjabeen and Abdullah without adding the other woman track since their story had enough substance as it was. Yet, Shanzay made a comeback with a completely different personality (definitely not a likable one!). There was a time when she couldn’t stand Abdullah and now she was willing to do whatever it took to be in his life, ignoring the fact that he was already married! Abdullah’s inclination towards Shanzay was also annoying but definitely understandable. It was however something that could have been easily avoided.

Poor Mahjabeen could not even fight for herself therefore ultimately it was Washma who fought her case. Mahjabeen however did try her best to win her husband back by trying to look more modern and doing whatever she could to get his attention. However, quite a few episodes were dedicated to showing how hard Shanzay tried to win Abdullah over and how helpless Mahjabeen was. Towards the end, the viewers were debating whether Abdullah actually deserved Mahjabeen or not because of this strange and unpleasant ‘love’ triangle.

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Kashf, Wajdaan, Zoya (Kashf)

This was another drama that had a different storyline altogether but sadly even this drama had the most unpleasant track of a woman desperately pursuing her sister’s fiancé. Kashf and Wajdaan had been engaged for the longest time and they were both madly in love yet Zoya, Kashf’s sister did whatever she could to create misunderstandings between the two and tried to win Wajdaan’s mother over so that she would get him married to her. Zoya’s fascination with her brother-in-law was pretty evident right from the beginning and the viewers started criticizing it right from the get-go.

Kashf was another one of those dramas that relied heavily on sibling rivalry. Although Kashf never did much to counter Zoya’s plan, whatever she did definitely impacted her relationship with Wajdaan. This was such an unnecessary track and the most unpleasant one in this particular drama.

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Daneen, Areesh, Aania (Anaa)

This was another one of those ‘complicated’ and strange love triangles where it was difficult to tell who actually the other woman in the drama was. Daneen and Areesh were initially in love but their families did not approve of their relationship. As a result of this, they ended up getting married to someone else. Areesh got married to Aania, a docile woman who knew he wasn’t in love with her but did whatever she could to win his love since she was hopelessly in love with her! The drama took the most bizarre turn when Daneen decided to run from her husband’s house and elope with Areesh!

Like all the other men on this list, Areesh was also clueless and useless! He could not commit to one woman because he did not know what he wanted from his life. On the other hand, Aania was shown as the typical too-good-to-be-true wife who always gave mixed signals and kept the viewers confused throughout. Areesh was definitely not worth fighting over and towards the end, this power struggle became even messier.

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Farwa, Hassan, Gohar (Nand)

Nand is still on air and the power struggle between women is continuing to date! Since we stopped watching the drama a long time back, we will only add those names which were initially part of the drama. Gohar was shown as a controlling sister, mother, and wife who wanted to make sure that the men in her life put her before everyone else. That is why when her younger brother Hassan got married against her will, she did everything she could to create misunderstandings between Hassan and Farwa.

Gohar literally had no life therefore all she did was plot and plan against Farwa. She did everything from recording videos to taking pictures to make Hassan doubt his wife. Farwa countered everything with confidence until Hassan started falling for the lies and the marriage fell apart! Gohar and Farwa’s confrontations were part of every single episode and this fight continued until Gohar ‘won’!

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Rabi, Saqib, Gohar (Nand)

Everyone who has watched Nand would agree that Saqib was never worth fighting over! Yet, Rabi went through the worst to be with him until Gohar made sure that her brother divorced her. This divorce scene alone is enough evidence that the makers of Nand took women fighting over men to a whole new level!

Gohar stole, lied, and did whatever it took to break Saqib and Rabi’s relationship. Saqib was so blinded by the love he felt for his sister that he believed every lie and never valued his wife. Rabi kept on coming back to Saqib even when she was beaten and thrown out of the house!

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

Rabi, Jahangir, Gohar (Nand)

When Rabi went ahead and married Gohar’s husband Jahangir, drama serial Nand started going downhill.  Gohar came back to her husband and that is when there was a constant power struggle between the two women. Even a man like Jahangir who was sensible and decent ended up falling for the lies, as is always the case! The whole drama from then on focused on Gohar’s attempts to be the only woman in Jahangir’s life.

Gohar went as far as killing Jahangir’s mother yet even now she is part of the drama and continues to fight with the present women in her brothers’ life!

Women Fighting Over Men In Pakistani Dramas

This list goes to show that our producers believe that showing women fighting over men guarantees viewership. Even when the writers begin a drama with a novel storyline, they end up adding such tracks to it and we are guessing that the producers want them to do so! Such tracks are in bad taste and the viewers are sick and tired of watching women fighting over men in our dramas. What do you think? Share your views.

The Paxi Pakistan Company will have taxis which will only cater to female passengers and they will also be driven by women. The purpose behind this service is to make women feel safe while taking a cab. Women are faced with several issues while opting for public transport hence this aims to lessen their problems.

Sheikh Mohammad Zahid, Paxi Pakistan’s CEO told that they are starting with 10 drivers, referred to as pilots and the service will expand to Lahore and Islamabad in the next three to four months and eventually will be followed by other parts of the country.

“Our pilots are housewives, young women, students, too,” he said.

The formal launch date is 23rd March, however, an orientation ceremony for the pink taxi and for the pilots is to be at the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides’ Headquarters here on Wednesday.

Women Dancing in a mob generates idea of WomenEmpowerment or Degradation?

Seriously? What are we heading to? One of the latest brands of clothing which tried to be different from the rest “Do Your Own Thing”, DYOT asked two NCA students to choreograph a group of five girls to dance in a mob at Lahore’s streets.

The video is of almost two minutes in which a girl gets off from a rickshaw , she is dressed up in a modern outfit. Few men stare her and later one guy says MashALLAH to her. She then takes off her Chaddar and starts dancing. Later a group of other 4 girls also join her.

check the video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZYVPEmM6Uc

This video not only to me but to majority seems a wrong idea of portraying feminism, women empowerment , individuality etc. Rather it shows how weak our value system is becoming. Is dancing in a mob “do your own thing ” for women these days?

According to manager of DYOT “Our brand is about customization. Our customers can change our designs to suit them, which hasn’t been done before in Pakistan,”

He adds, “We are a small brand, we can’t afford billboards so we wanted to make a viral video. We watched a lot of videos to get inspiration and [finally] reached out to to students from NCA, Saad and Ikram, to help us. Saad managed the choreography and Ikram was the DOP. We shot the film in Anarkali in Lahore, which is next to NCA.”

DYOT is not getting a positive feed back on this innovative way of marketing there brand.

Nowadays we have seen many female celebrities’ private pictures and videos are being leaked. Recently, many actresses’ private data was leaked and it took social media by the storm.

There are many female celebrities including; Meera jee, her private video with Captain Naveed went viral on social media, then another victim was Rabi Pirzada after that Ehd-e-Wafa actress Alizeh Shah’s private pictures were leaked.

Famous anchorperson Mubashir Luqman invited Juggun Kazim on his show and they discussed on topic, ‘Is it okay to exploit somebody’s life?

Women Are Being Targeted By Leaking Private Data, Says Juggun Kazim

Juggun said, “Some things are personal and yes I believe that in the time of social media clicking such types of pictures is not good. But my question is when male models have their pictures in which their whole body is visible and only private parts are hidden and people appreciate them. When it comes to women,  I feel like women are getting targetted in media.”

Women Are Being Targeted By Leaking Private Data, Says Juggun KazimMubasshir Luqman said, “It is not gender-based whether it’s male or female’s picture it is wrong.

Juggun replied, “Women are getting targetted one after another video is being leaked. These girls have their families. Being a woman it is very difficult for me to digest that anybody releases their own private pictures. I can’t believe it.”

Women Are Being Targeted By Leaking Private Data, Says Juggun Kazim

According to the host, People are fond of videotaping themselves, people are fond of getting the photograph, they want people to see them and when they realize that these things have an adverse effect then they sort of step back.

On which Juggun replied, “When people make their name in media they do it after a lot of hard work. You know that we earn when a good brand comes to us we earn a lot and no brand takes such people whose private videos and pictures have been leaked. So no actor or actress destroy their career by their hands.”

Women – The Ultimate Negative Topic of Dramas!

0

Spare me if I cross the limits in my fury while targeting the writers because I am fed up with the trend of how the females are being portrayed in a negative light in all our dramas. I really actually want to know what has gone into the writers these days for which they are just scrutinizing the image of Women in our dramas. I agree that the women & females have always been targeted in a comical sense & there are a million jokes that are dedicated for this cause but now it is absolutely getting tedious to see the so-called writers bringing the females in a negative light.

I am writing this article at the year end because I want us all to re-call how many negative characters we have come across in the year 2013. From start till the end, all I have just seen is a woman treated as a commodity in our dramas which can be used & thrown. A million times an idea has been established that a woman can only be negative & nothing else. If she’s a mother-in-law she would be a woman hitler, if she is a mother herself, she is going to be biased, if she is a wife, she’s either characterless or a gold-digger, if she’s a sister most likely either she would be a husband-snatcher or would be drooling over the luxuries of your life, if she is a daughter, she would hook her father up with her young cute friends, I mean seriously!

I am literally sick of these writers who unfortunately happen to be women themselves but I am ashamed of their mentalities to conceive of such such bad characters which only emphasize that women are an insult to the society. I am amazed that the female writers had nothing, absolutely nothing good to write about women themselves, it shows how SHALLOW & how ashamed they are being a woman themselves because if they were a tinsy bit proud about the fact, they wouldn’t be coming up with such hideous characters & would never assassin females with their imaginative negativity.

I am amazed at the current trend where any guy in a drama can accuse a girl of having an intimate relation with him, any guy can come & claim that a girl who ain’t married to him is carrying his child & the whole world would support the guy in stead of a girl. I am speaking about the dramas that I have watched & it makes me wonder where is the morality of our writers gone? Maira of Aseer Zadi, Haniya of Mere Humrahi are blamed to be carrying a child of someone other than their husbands, Gaiti in Rishte Kuch Adhoore Se got preggers with a guy to whom she wasn’t technically & legally married. Mina of Kadurat absolutely was the worst character I saw this year  where she actually victimized her father & accused him of – we all know what. I mean c’mon, give me a break. All the writers who are coming up with such pathetic ideas should literally either stop writing or should be ashamed of their sick mentalities.

Ohkay, there are negative characters & we all come across some of those characters in our real lives too, which may seem relate-able in our dramas but is it really important to show that a woman would either be a satan-like human or else she would be such a weakling where anyone would come & target her or accuse her of immorality.

I wish that these writers would STOP using the gender in discussion for their stories. IF they can not come up with positive & balanced characters or if they have nothing good to write about women, they shouldn’t bother using their bird-like brains because it literally shows their sick mentalities & nothing else.

Write something positive about women you so-called writers & if you can’t so then just SHUT IT!

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Woh…Dubara – Episode 2

0

The best thing about the play so far is the strong and positive relationship between everyone in Zubair’s house. Eman and her mother’s wicked ways are totally opposite to the positivity we see in Zubair’s house. I am not sure if I am liking the contrast much though! I was expecting a lot more action in tonight’s episode but there was too much talking and very little action. The prequel of the show was short and to the point but I have a feeling that this sequel is going to be long. Conversations between Eman and her mother already seem repetitive, we see so much of this gherulu politics in our dramas every day, I wish the writer would have come up with a different storyline for the sequel. It would have been better if there were no issues in the family but the only real problem was the demon which was haunting the house. I have a feeling that it is going to be Emaan vs the demon sort of a scenario…..because both of them are evil!! The focus has been on Umair’s wedding like every other Pakistani dramas in which the focus is always on marriage and the problems related to it.

Untitled

Zubair and Yasmeen never talk about Ali, who has an invisible friend ever since they moved in the new house. Yasmeen has been noticing change in Ali’s behavior but somehow it is not bothering her at all. Yasmeen appears to be more worried about Awais than Ali, which is strange. The last scene of tonight’s episode was spooky but the rest of the episode was strictly okay. The “bhoot’s” appearance has of course been inspired by the film “The Ring”. This is a screen shot from the movie “The Ring”, can you see the resemblance? These two disturbed souls must be related to each other;)…long-lost twins maybe!

10

Yasra Rizvi is portraying the character of the caring and intelligent bhabi and wife’s role perfectly. Shahood Alvi is a natural who always delivers. Seema Sehar who plays Emaan’s mother is an expert in playing the role of a troublemaker but I don’t like her character much for obvious reasons. The advices she gives her daughter have been-there-heard-that thousand times written all over them and same is true for Emaan’s character. Umair’s character is actually a breath of fresh air because unlike most of the love-struck men we see on screen, he still looks at things from a neutral perspective.

I am actually disappointed with this second episode and I wish that the director did not copy the look of the evil spirit from a Hollywood movie; I expected Angeline Malik to be slightly more creative than that.

Woh…Dubara – Episode 1

0

The team of Woh is back with a sequel titled Woh..Dubara. I have been looking forward to this sequel because the prequel proved to be a complete package; it was entertaining and different. Angeline Malik is the captain of the ship once again and the sequel has been written by Syed Atif Ali. I remember when the prequel was on air Syed Atif Ali was not sure if this new genre of drama will click with the viewers or not, I am glad that the play got the attention and viewership it deserved and the experiment did not fail.

Woh..Dubara has also been shot in the same house where the prequel was shot. The house is still haunted by the demon who has now taken over the body of Faisal’s daughter Saba. Zubair (Shahood Alvi) along with his wife (Yasra Rizvi), child Ali (Bilal Khan) and brother Umair (Ali Abbas) move in the haunted house. He knows about the tragedies that took place in the house but chooses to ignore everything that happened because he thinks that it is not going to effect him or his family in any way. Umair is due to get married to Emaan (Sana Askari) very soon that is the reason why they moved in this house in a rush. All the family members in the house are very close to each other. Even the housekeeper of the house (Sultana Zafar) is treated like a family member because she has been with the family for a very long time. Emaan and her mother (Seema Sehar) however are bad news as Bua rightly puts it. Emaan is headstrong and unreasonable and her mother encourages this behavior. Zubair’s wife on the other hand is willing to compromise because she wants Umair to be happy.

Untitled

In this episode the demon seemed to be inspecting the members of the household one by one so that it can chose its victim. Ali is the first one who sees the demon and is now “friends” with it. The strange happening in the house are ignored by everyone. The main protagonist in the show this time around is going to be Sana Askari, I hope that she will give us the same stellar performance which Arij Fatyma gave in the prequel. The cast is very strong, one thing I love about Angeline Malik’s plays is that the scenes are always short and to the point and I have faith in the writer Syed Atif as well.

Overall, this was a fast paced first episode which introduced the characters in a very good way. The camera work and picture quality was upto the mark and it definitely gave me something to look forward to. If you want to watch something different, entertaining and of course chilling then Woh…Dubara will definitely fit the bill.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Last Episode Story Review – Gratifying

Woh Mera Dil Tha Last Episode Story Review – This last episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha aired unexpectedly but I guess all those viewers who have been following this show regularly must be used to watching this drama on a day and time when it was not scheduled to air. It was challenging watching this play because the time slot and even the day on which it aired changed so many times. There was so much confusion that there were times when there were two different schedules circulating on social media in a single day! The treatment given to this drama by the channel was off-putting to say the least.

A Decent Love Story

Woh Mera Dil Tha was a really decent love story with tons of character development and unexpected twists and turns to its credit. Like every other play written by Faiza Iftikhar this one too had quite a few elements which were brand new and it only got better with time. The main leads in particular were beautifully etched-out which is why the viewers instantly connected to these characters. Through Naina’s track, the writer asserted how important it was for parents to trust their children even when they feel that their children have gone off-track. Zaid’s story was a different track altogether, his coming-of-age journey was the most engaging factor in the drama. The story altogether was entertaining and the pace never slowed down.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Last Episode Story Review - Gratifying

Heartwarming Relationships

Naina’s relationship with Zaid’s family was always heartwarming. The way Zaid’s father handled the situation right from the time Naina and Zaid entered into a nikkah was also one of the most refreshing and pleasing aspects of Woh Mera Dil Tha. Although, whatever happened in this episode was predictable but it was only so because the writer did not wait for the last episode to wrap everything up. The changes in the characters, the way these relationships nurtured and the manner in which all these developments led to the kind of ending everyone was looking forward to was definitely convincing.

Arham Finally Makes Himself Useful (barely!)

Arham decided to do something for Zaid for a change when Sonia informed him that Zaid really was in love with Naina. Arham’s dialogue about letting him do something for Zaid for once was funny! He was the one who convinced Zaid that he did not need to sacrifice his love for him and that’s when Zaid decided to explain himself to Naina.

No One Found Out The Actual Truth

It was interesting how no one found out that Arham was actually the one who had a relationship with Naina and he backed out from his commitment at the last minute. Zaid and Naina did not try hard enough to convey this to everyone once the nikkah took place. Naina did not do so because she was too disappointed with her parents’ attitude and Zaid didn’t do it because he felt there was no point telling his parents the truth.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Last Episode Story Review - Gratifying

Overall Impression

Sami Khan and Madiha Imam nailed their respective characters. They looked great together and their characters had so much going for them. The director Mohsin Ali did complete justice to Faiza Iftikhar’s scripts but some of the actors did not perform as well as the leading actors did. Behroze Sabzwari’s acting and his role too was the most unbearable part of the drama. Furqan Qureshi too failed to do justice to his character. Overall however since majority of the story revolved around Naina and Zaid and Zaid’s family therefore watching this drama was surely a pleasant experience. Even with all his flaws Zaid’s character was far more appealing than most of the male protagonists we have seen in many other love stories lately. Naina was extremely likeable and her character development throughout was shown logically. One of the things I liked the most about this drama was that so many female characters were shown in a positive light. Naina and Zaid’s love story kept me looking forward to more every week. There were so many episodes which belonged entirely and completely to Sami Khan! I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful ride and loved the simple happy ending.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episodes 17 & 18 Review – Arham Is Back!

The story is getting more interesting with every passing week and even with the unimpressive production values , Zaid and Naina continue to be the reason why I tune into this show and they never disappoint. Last week, Zaid was least interested in giving Naina an explanation as to why he gave Saba lift and couldn’t be less bothered about how she felt. Naina too was not being possessive or jealous but she was more concerned about Saba – something which was brand new and truly refreshing! Naina’s character is likeable and refreshing for many reasons. Although she is making an effort to do whatever she can for the people who had more faith in her than her parents ever did but at the same time for the longest time she saw Zaid for who he was. She appreciated the fact that he was taking care of her ‘financially’ but wasn’t relying on him completely and her overall opinion about him didn’t change until Zaid convinced her otherwise.

Zaid is someone who has been manipulating people for years and he is an expert when it comes to exploiting girls in particular therefore it did not take him long to convince Naina that he really was in love with her. It was good to see that Naina did not fall for him immediately. Even now, she has not fallen in love with him but is willing to take a step forward. Zaid’s character continues to be the main driving force in the story. Everything he did in these two episodes showed once again just how selfish he was, everything he ever does is for his own pleasure and for him financial stability and material things come before everything else. The writer has done a brilliant job of introducing this character and Sami Khan is absolutely phenomenal as Zaid. He makes it easy to believe why women fall for his lies. He also makes the guilt-free exploitation of everyone around him actually easy to understand! Zaid is so convinced that he deserves better that he will take any shortcut he can in order to get what he has always wished for and wanted.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episodes 17 & 18 Review - Arham Is Back!

Zaid’s attitude towards Naina only changed when he found out that Arham was back. All of a sudden he felt insecure and he felt that the best way to ensure that Naina does not go back to him was to make her fall in love with him. Zaid did what he does best tonight and he is sure to succeed in the upcoming episodes. Zaid’s conversations with his father showed how convinced he was that he will get away with all this and everything his father said explained why it was so! Zaid does not believe in working hard – he never did – therefore now that he is getting everything he wanted and more so conveniently, he is not questioning his actions or the possible repercussions.

Zaid and Naina’s story has tons of potential and Arham’s return has only made things more interesting. Even though Zaid is the one with so many shortcomings but he always gives you a lot to look forward to. Arham’s character on the other hand is very annoying! I am really looking forward to watching how the story unfolds from here on. I am also looking forward to when Zaid will actually fall in love with Naina but she will probably find out how he had been lying to her all along. Naina cannot stand it when Zaid makes a fool out of other women, one can only imagine how she will react when she finds out that he was fooling her too. I feel for Naina already!

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episodes 10 – 14 – Review

In these 5 weeks, the schedule of this drama changed over and over again and I had a difficult time keeping up with it! I was also waiting for ARY to finally decide what time and day they want to air this play so that I can finally catch up and review all the episodes together. A great deal happened in these 5 weeks and even after so many weeks Zaid and Naina continue to be the best part of this drama. The supporting characters and actors have an important role to play in the story but they are not always impressive and there are times when they keep you wondering as well. Naina’s character went through a major transformation in these episodes. Initially, she decided she needed to do the bare minimum in order to buy herself some time till she could finally figure out what she needs to do. Madihah Imam translated every emotion Naina went through in these episodes effortlessly. The writer has also shown the difficulties Naina faced in Zaid’s house and how ultimately she manages to fit in convincingly.

It is also good to see that Naina and Zaid haven’t fallen in love with each other just yet but they have learned to live with each other for completely different reasons. Naina and Zaid’s valima was covered really well, the way they feel awkward around each other and Zaid’s attitude in particular was shown realistically. He could not stand to be around Naina and he didn’t even try to make his behavior socially acceptable. Naina too was not surprised or disappointed when Saba came and told her that Zaid loved her. When Zaid said to Naina that he was not going to sleep on the sofa like heroes do in the movies reminded me of Dillagi! Mohid and Zaid surely are world apart but while I absolutely loved Mohid’s character, I find Zaid’s character interesting too.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episodes 10 - 14 - Review

Zaid is greedy and selfish but Sami Khan’s performance makes you look forward to his scenes. Also, Zaid’s character is intriguing and somehow I don’t find myself judging him too much! Zaid decided to meet Naina’s mother when Naina wasn’t feeling well and he made the most of this meeting. He got a job through her connections and access to Naina’s bank account too. He paid Naina’s tuition fee with her own money but Naina felt like he was doing her a huge favour and therefore tried to put in some effort to please him. This turn in events was amusing. Naina’s character and the role she played in the latest episode reminded me of Dina’s character from Teri Meri Kahani. Naina has gradually changed herself and is doing whatever she can to help Shabana too. While Zaid is a thankless manipulator, Naina acknowledges every little thing which Zaid’s family does for her. Zaid’s father’s character played an important role in making his wife and daughter understand Naina situation and has been supportive throughout. Arham also found out about Naina’s wedding but he is not back just yet. In this episode, it seemed like Arham’s father felt bad about what he did.

Woh Mera Dil Tha has an interesting story, Sami Khan and Madiha Imam also keep on giving you a reason to tune into this drama. There were a few continuity bloopers in these episodes but overall the director has done a decent job. However, the production values and some of supporting actors are the weakest link in this play. This drama could have been far more enticing and appealing if it was visually pleasing as well. The preview of the next episode showed that Naina’s mother will now gift her a car as well and it is quite likely that her father might forgive her some time soon too.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 9 Review – Blame Game!

A new episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha finally aired this week! ARY constantly keeps on changing the timings of their dramas which can be terribly annoying especially for those viewers who watch these dramas when they air on television! Thankfully this latest episode aired before we forgot all about what happened in the previous few episodes!

This latest episode opened with Zaid flirting with an ex-girlfriend Sonia because that was the only way he was going to get a job. By the end of this episode however, Saba completely ruined his plans and it looks like Zaid will have to work hard to find a job now. For the first time Zaid’s father said something good about him when he was telling his other son off for asking for money all the time. Apparently, Zaid isn’t as “useless” as he looks and he is capable of using his intelligence for something other than alluring girls. Zaid’s character has tons of potential for character development and even with all his selfishness and flaws, he continues to be the most entertaining part of this drama. Sami Khan’s effortless portrayal is impressive as usual.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 9 Review - Blame Game!

The forced nikkah did not change Zaid and Naina’s personalities and their feelings for each other. The only thing that has changed is that these two hate each other more than ever now! Both of them are constantly trying to avoid each other and Zaid has definitely not changed his ways! Whenever they come across each other, the blame game starts which makes it pretty clear that both of them are not going to accept this relationship anytime soon. I really liked the valima dress scene, the dress served as yet another bitter reminder of how Naina’s life had changed now. Zaid’s sister managed to convince Naina to be part of the valima function, this development too was covered convincingly.

Zaid’s father conversation with his wife covered the reasons why he quit his job. This conversation gave the viewers an insight into what was going through his mind. He also said that he would gladly accept another job if it was offered to him by Naina’s father because it wouldn’t be easy finding a new job. For the first time Naina’s mother was shown thinking about that aspect of this track which somehow is being ignored by everyone. The flashback scene suggested that she was wondering if they had made a wrong decision in haste but later on when she talked to Naina on the phone, she once again ignored what she was trying to say. Even if Naina tells her the truth, what’s done cannot be undone but the fact that she is holding back keeps you wondering when will she eventually come out with the truth!

The change in Naina’s father’s attitude could mean that he might eventually forgive his daughter, which could pave way for Zaid to work with him and make his dreams come true! It is difficult to predict what turn the story will take from here. This latest episode covered the pre-valima decisions and arrangements. Will Naina’s parents change their mind and come to the valima? How will Zaid and Naina survive when they are forced to share the room??!!!! Waiting to find out!

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 8 Review – The Aftershocks!

Tonight’s episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha showed how everyone felt about Zaid and Naina’s sudden nikkah once they were out of the initial shock. Zaid and Naina crossed paths for the first time after the nikkah took place and this interaction wasn’t different from many other conversations they had earlier when they didn’t have a clue that they might end up being with each other in this capacity. The flashback scenes showed how Zaid was dreading spending the rest of his life with a woman he didn’t even like and Naina felt like a complete misfit in this new house for obvious reasons. While everyone else is not willing to accept this marriage, Zaid’s father is the only one who thinks that life should get back to normal. Zaid’s father is turning out to be a likeable character who is kind and practical. His reaction when Naina’s father and his boss proposed that he should move to the other office came as a complete surprise. He is the only person who believes that Naina deserves respect even though this marriage didn’t take place the way he hoped it would.

Zaid can easily be termed as a flirt and a charmer who simply couldn’t care less how these women who he flirts with feel when he walks out on them. The scene in the office also showed that he won’t think twice before using a woman who likes her for his own advantage. He is a free bird who is suddenly in a situation which demands being responsible and committed. Naina too is used to living a very different life and will very soon have to live with someone she always disliked. How will these two people who cannot stand each other end up falling for one another? Finding out how this eventually happens has to be the biggest attraction right now. Sami Khan and Madiha Imam’s performances have been spot on right from the get-go. Zaid’s selfishness and reckless behaviour is often amusing because of the way it has been translated on screen!

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 8 Review - The Aftershocks!

It was good to see Naina’s mother trying to get through to her even after all the warnings. We have seen plenty of dramas in which the mothers forget they have a daughter the second they get such a threat! Arham’s parents’ conversation was an important part of this episode but the actor playing Arham’s father’s role is not the least bit impressive. With a better supporting cast, this drama could have been more pleasing. Zaid and Naina are the main attractions of this play, they keep on giving you something to look forward to. Their track has tons of potential therefore I am waiting for the time when Naina will finally move in with Zaid and there will be more focus on them.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 7 Review – Highs and Lows

Last week I was wondering why Woh Mera Dil Tha wasn’t airing at 8pm since it is a decent show which deserved a better slot and now quite ironically the show has been moved to the 10pm slot and from now on it will be airing on Fridays! This latest episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha focused entirely on the aftermath of the nikkah last week. This nikkah can easily be termed as the outcome of one of the biggest misunderstandings we have seen in our dramas! Even after everything that happened, Zaid hasn’t told his father the truth and Naina’s father has completely given up on her. Also, it is too late for explanations!

Things have gone from being lighthearted to extremely serious. Naina lost her parents and now has to live with a person she cannot even stand. Getting married to Naina can easily pass as Zaid’s worst nightmare come true especially because his father is going to make sure that he looks after Naina properly. There was already a lot of pressure on Zaid to find a job, now there isn’t only even more pressure on him but he doesn’t even have the option of working with his “best friend”. Sami Khan has been absolutely phenomenal as the careless young man who puts his comforts and interests before everything else! While Zaid is gutsy, his attitude tonight showed that he is incapable of feeling empathy since he was solely worried about himself. He didn’t even try to comfort Naina because he felt that he was just as much of a “victim” as she was!

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 7 Review - Highs and Lows

The only reason Zaid’s sister was all for this marriage was because she was hoping that she could also benefit from Naina’s wealth. Now that she knows Naina’s parents have disowned her she isn’t happy with the situation. Everyone’s reactions to this nikkah got plenty of screen time and some of these scenes were stretched too. The dialogues delivery of few of the supporting actors is too slow and few of them tend to go overboard, which is why it can be difficult sitting through their scenes. Zaid and Naina didn’t interact even once , they were like prisoners who were put in different cells!

After watching this episode, I feel for Naina and Zaid’s father more than anyone else. Even though Naina made a foolish decision but she had to pay a bigger price for it than she had ever imagined! This entire plan was Zaid’s idea, it was his way of getting himself out of trouble but it backfired therefore I feel he deserved this!! I don’t see Zaid turning into a responsible husband any time soon and it is difficult to imagine Naina playing the role of a submissive bahu or wife. Am I the only one who feels that Naina’s father over reacted and let his insecurities get the best of him?

Like every other episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha, this one too has its high and low moments but it definitely gave me a reason to tune into this play next week too. If this drama picks up pace, it will be more entertaining.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 6 Review – Match Made In Hell!

This latest episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha had another unexpected and important development to its credit which changed the direction of the story completely. I am wondering why a lame drama like Noor-ul-Ain has been given the 8pm slot and Woh Mera Dil Tha which is far better has been given the 9pm slot! Woh Mera Dil Tha isn’t faultless but it is definitely far more interesting that Noor-ul-Ain which has absolutely no story or direction!

Even after all the planning and convincing Zaid could not escape the situation he had put himself into because of Arham. Arham pulled back from his commitment as well as his relationship with Naina but somehow Naina didn’t even try to tell her father the truth. Zaid however did whatever he could to tell his father that this was a big misunderstanding but ultimately had to give in. Although this entire situation was really serious but somehow I found it amusing! Since Zaid had planned all this, it looked like he was paying for being over smart and for trying to outsmart everyone else! This episode as a whole however could have been even more entertaining if like the previous episode some of the scenes were not dragged. The flashback scenes were used effectively in this recent episode since they helped the viewers understand why Arham ultimately backed off. This particular development was shown convincingly and it was startling.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 6 Review - Match Made In Hell!

Right from the first episode I was wondering how these two people who simply couldn’t stand each other will ultimately end up together. That mystery has been solved tonight and now I am eagerly waiting to see how Zaid in particular will handle this situation. It will be interesting watching Naina and Zaid grow as individuals as well as partners. Even when Arham didn’t turn up and Naina was heart broken, Zaid didn’t give her a lot of concession which basically shows that he is definitely not the kind of person whose heart will melt watching a girl in distress or crying. Zaid was also shown resisting this nikkah more aggressively than Naina did which makes this entire situation even more interesting! Zaid is allergic to commitments too therefore it is impossible to tell how he will treat Naina once they enter into a nikkah. The fact that Naina was his best friend’s girlfriend for the longest time definitely doesn’t help. These two can easily pass as a match made in hell.

The latest turn in the story has made this drama even more interesting and I can’t wait to watch what happens next! Some of the scenes and situations tonight weren’t convincing enough but overall it was an entertaining episode which gave me a reason to look forward to more! Sami Khan and Madiha Imam’s remarkable performances were the highlight of this latest episode. The preview of the next episode however was a little too elaborate especially given the fact that right now we were all supposed to be wondering whether these two will ultimately get married or not!

How many of you watched this latest episode? Do share your thoughts about it.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 5 Review – Difficult Decisions!

Tonight’s episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha was interesting overall with the exception of a few scenes which could have been chopped down. The story is unpredictable but some of the supporting actors are unbearable! Thankfully the leading cast is doing their job well therefore they keep you coming back for more. Naina overheard her father talking about the mistakes he had made when he was young and why he accepted Zaid as Naina’s life partner. His reasoning made perfect sense but he has no idea what is actually going on. This scene could have been better if it was wrapped up quickly, such scenes are tedious to watch if the dialogue delivery is too slow.

The most entertaining part of this episode was watching Zaid work out a plan to get himself out of this situation. His family was quite content with this proposal even though Zaid painted a grim picture of how terrible his future could be if he got married to Naina. These dialogues were hilarious and Sami Khan was beyond brilliant throughout this episode. Zaid’s lack of interest in Naina not only because she is Arham’s girlfriend but because he doesn’t like her one bit makes this entire scenario even more amusing. Both of them cannot stand each other yet they are in this situation which is beyond their control. The only reason why they cannot reveal the truth is that Arham doesn’t want his father to find out what is going on. Tonight, Zaid really was looking out for his own interest more than anyone else’s when he suggested that Naina and Arham should elope. Right now, it seems like he just wants these two out of his life because there is no other way to escape the situation.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 5 Review - Difficult Decisions!

Arham’s scene with his father was difficult to watch because the actor who is playing his father’s role cannot act to save his life! Although the entire conversation was written well but it is difficult to take things seriously when the performances are so weak! This scene clearly showed that Arham’s father wasn’t going to give his consent no matter what therefore later on when Zaid suggested that they should secretly get married, Arham for the first time was willing to go along with it. This time around Naina was reluctant because after listening to what her father said, she knows how badly he will be hurt if she does something like this.

The scenes which showed Naina’s father thinking about how he had raised her could have been chopped down and this episode overall could have been even better if it focused on the leading cast more and few of the scenes were not stretched. I am waiting for the time when the focus will be entirely on these three characters since their story is appealing and the performances are up to the mark as well. Sami Khan once again was the star of the show, he never fails to impress!

The preview of the next episode didn’t give away too much therefore it is impossible to predict what is going to happen next! Zaid, Arham and Naina have my undivided attention and I can’t wait to find out how their story unfolds in the future.

How many of you watched tonight’s episode? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 4 Review – What A Twist!!

The previous two episodes of Woh Mera Dil Tha focused entirely on introducing all the main characters and laid down the foundation for the most unexpected twist! Zaid’s character is an interesting mix of carefree yet sincere as well as daring. Although he isn’t as serious or focused as his father would want him to be but he is a reliable friend who will go out of his way to keep his friend out of trouble. Even though Zaid is blunt and not polished like his best friend but he isn’t selfish either. His character is likeable for many reasons, the most important one is that the shortcomings in his personality do not really hurt anyone.

Faiza Iftikhar has intelligently shown two different characters which break stereotypes; usually the guy who wears the suit in our dramas and is rich and decent is the perfect hero who every girl falls in love with and characters like that of Zaid are their best friends who usually aren’t “perfect” enough to be the heroes! The situation here is quite different and the writer has made Zaid’s character more appealing without making Arham look bad. Both these characters have their strengths and weaknesses but after this episode there is a good reason why most viewers will like Zaid’s character more than that of Arham. Sami Khan is absolutely brilliant as Zaid, he makes you feel for his character without even trying. Furqan Qureshi is equally convincing as someone who is in a predicament; he cannot let Naina go because he loves her but at the same time he doesn’t know how to convince his parents for this marriage. Unlike Zaid, he thinks too much about the consequences of his actions which is why he never goes to pick Naina and this time around he also sent Zaid to give Naina his message instead of going to her place himself. Zaid on the other hand does whatever he can for Arham without questioning him or thinking about the outcome.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 4 Review - What A Twist!!

This episode opened with Arham mustering up the courage to tell his mother about Naina but his mother instantly told him off. Sometimes it seems like Arham doesn’t try hard enough and isn’t daring enough to take a stand. There is a good reason why he cannot seem to plead his case more firmly but one can’t help but wonder how Zaid would have reacted in such a situation! He wouldn’t have been so calculated and that could have changed everything. Right now even though Zaid’s father keeps on telling him that he cannot depend on Arham and he should find a job for himself, he continues to do what he wants to which basically shows that if he makes up his mind about something, he doesn’t let anyone convince him otherwise. Naina is a strong girl who is willing to take the bold step of telling her parents about Arham even though she too will face the same retaliation from them as Arham would face if his father finds out what is going on but she decided to stay quiet for now. She knows that she is completely helpless unless Arham supports her decision to tell her parents about their relationship. Madiha Imam is doing complete justice to her role and there are times when you feel like she fell for the wrong guy.

Naina’s father caught Zaid in her room and naturally he thought that they were in a relationship. Although Naina wanted to clarify this misunderstanding but Arham’s repeated requests to keep his name secret proved to be a main hurdle. What happened after that was covered superbly! Naina’s father had said already in one of the previous episodes that he only wanted someone shareef for his daughter, nothing else mattered. Since Zaid’s father has been his trusted employee for so many years now, his decision made perfect sense. Naina’s father’s insecurities are another reason why he thought this was the best decision. His character is a perfect example why people should not let their past define their present! Zaid’s father too wants his son to do exactly what he wants and never expects him to do anything right.

Tonight’s episode was one of the best episodes of this play so far, some of the supporting actors in the previous two episodes failed to impress but this episode was perfect because it focused on the leading characters. The story took an interesting turn from this episode which was completely unpredictable.

The preview of the next episode was really interesting. It is highly unlikely that Arham would take the bold step of marrying Naina secretly. Will Naina eventually give up on Arham? Will everything she witnessed tonight change her opinion about Zaid? I am waiting to find out!

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 23 Story Review – Beautiful

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 23 Story Review – This heart-warming episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha was Impeccably scripted and beautifully directed. Woh Mera Dil Tha is one of those rare dramas which get better with every passing episode and this second last episode was one of the most marvelously poignant episodes of this drama so far. It was the kind of episode which you can watch over and over again. There are very few writers who can keep the essence of a story alive right till the end and add novelty to even the simplest scripts, Faiza Iftikhar is definitely one of them. After watching so many ishq tamashas this year on Pakistani channels, a romantic story like this one which is simple yet unique in its own way is refreshing. Woh Mera Dil Tha is completely free of clichés and stereotypes which itself is its biggest success.

Sami Khan and Zaid – The Perfect match!

Sami Khan’s heartfelt performance in this episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha made his presence felt every step of the way. He absolutely and completely nailed every single expression in this episode. This isn’t the first time that Sami Khan has given his absolute best to a role he is playing but what makes this character particularly special is that Zaid’s coming-of-age story has been written beautifully too. The guilt Zaid felt was apparent in all the scenes, the willingness with which he accepted his faults turned his weaknesses into his strengths.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 23 Story Review - Beautiful

Zaid clearly is no longer the cold and calculated person who never felt vulnerable in any way. In this episode, Zaid was not just terribly sorry for his actions but also scared of his own feelings. Sami Khan did a splendid job of translating this fear and realization on screen which made his scenes even more powerful.

Will Arham Turn Things Around In The End?

Sami Khan’s performance has been the highlight of this show but Furqan Qureshi’s acting has been terribly disappointing. Arham has many flaws but so does Zaid, while Sami Khan always made his character look charming in some way, Arham keeps you wondering why an intelligent girl like Naina would be attracted to him in the first place. Even tonight when Arham confronted Zaid, the sensitivity with which some of the dialogues should have been delivered was completely missing.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 23 Story Review - Beautiful

Furqan Qureshi has been doing the bear minimum which is why Arham’s character comes across as too plain and annoying. Having said that, it did look like in the last episode Arham might shift things around completely for both Naina and Zaid. Zaid and Arham were really close therefore Arham could tell that even though Zaid was not admitting it, he really was in love with Naina.

Engaging Dialogues and Emotional Storytelling

Many of the dialogues and situations in this episode reflected the beauty of every day life conversations. The interactions of the family members with each other in particular were written and executed well. Some of the conversations were extremely touching. Zaid’s conversation with Sonia, all of Naina’s conversations with Zaid’s family members and Shabana in particular were extremely poignant. The way everyone kept on telling Zaid off yet he did not say anything in his defence was also moving. Naina’s maturity was effectively conveyed through her dialogues. Madiha Imam has also translated this character beautifully on screen. She makes sure that she presents the goodness of Naina’s character as her strength and not her weakness. Naina’s dialogues when Zaid’s father came to take her home were also right on point.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 23 Story Review - Beautiful

Overall Impression

This second last episode had more strengths than weaknesses. With the exception of few performances which were not up to the mark, everything else was phenomenal. This episode was also visually pleasing (for a change), the script, direction and few of the performances were the best part of this beautiful second last episode.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 22 Story Review – Emotional

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 22 Story Review – This episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha had some of the most important developments to its credit. It was emotional throughout and just like always Sami Khan’s performance was the highlight of this episode. Zaid actually did whatever Naina’s father told her but the fact that he already realized his mistake and tried to do whatever he could to “undo” the damage makes him worthy of Naina’s forgiveness.

Naina Finds Out The ‘Truth’

Yes! Whatever Naina found out in this episode, indeed was true because Zaid did ‘warm up’ to this relationship, only after he figured out that he could use Naina’s mother to have an easy access to everything he had ever dreamed of and more. Since Zaid has just realized how wrong he was not just now but all along and more importantly he has just found out that he too has a conscience therefore he is fighting a battle he was not even prepared for. Also, Zaid never thought he was capable of falling in love with someone like this so he has a lot to deal with at one. Now that Naina has found out what he has been doing, he wants to be punished. Zaid did not ask for an apology when Naina confronted him but he asked her to punish him. All these situations, the dialogues and the performances were absolutely remarkable. Zaid’s stance, the realization, the mental turmoil, those questions coupled with Sami Khan’s mind-blowing performance made these scenes a treat to watch. Madiha Imam fits perfectly in this beautiful role and watching Naina suffer all over again was painful. Zaid and Naina’s love story has been heart-warming throughout but tonight everything they went through was more impactful than ever.

WMDT-1

Arham’s Explanation – What?!!

While you can’t help but feel for Zaid and root for him, Arham’s character is a disgrace! The explanation he gave Naina was completely flawed and does not explain why he decided to flee to another country. Their plan was to run away in the middle of the night therefore he had plenty of time to call off the plan by informing Zaid, if he did not have the guts to have this conversation with Naina. Although, Arham has always been shown as a coward but even then this particular explanation was especially lame. Now that Arham’s father has ‘forgiven’ his sister and the family is back together, there is nothing standing in Arham and Naina’s way but I am sure no one wants to see them together. Arham has to be one of the most annoying characters we have seen in dramas this year. His spinelessness in particular has been the most obvious flaw in his character which has driven his plot throughout. He owns this trait like a boss and is not even sorry for it!

This episode overall was one of the best ones we have seen so far. The role Naina’s father played, her mother’s concern, the manner in which Naina confronted Zaid and most importantly Zaid’s state of mind – all these were shown convincingly. Arham’s character needs some serious telling off by Naina, that is one thing I am looking forward to watching. Naina and Zaid’s happy ending will be the best way to end this play. Naina is sensible and sensitive enough to make a decision which will not be guided by anger therefore in the end Zaid will probably be forgiven but for now watching him suffer is not easy. Zaid and Naina’s story has been a roller coaster ride, one of the best love stories we have seen in dramas this year but the production house and ARY has not done justice to it.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 21 Story Review – Zaid Loses, Fate Wins

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 21 Story Review – Wow! What a superb episode! Woh Mera Tha Episode 21 was thoroughly entertaining and emotional as well. There wasn’t a single dull moment in this episode. Usually the viewers are waiting for dramas to wrap up at this point but right now Woh Mera Dil Tha is more entertaining and appealing than it ever was. The character development has been gradual and convincing. Zaid and Naina’s journey has been eventful, exciting and emotional.

Fate Comes Into Play!

The change in Zaid’s character tonight was likeable as well as poignant. Zaid has always been someone who believes in planning everything and he was definitely a self-centered man completely incapable of feeling anything for anyone let alone falling in love. Tonight’s episode showed that when fate comes into play, all the planning goes out of the window. Zaid had planned to use Naina’s mother to get everything materialistic he had ever thought of owning but fate had something completely different planned for him. Naina’s positivity, the way she won everyone over and most importantly the fact that she started trusting Zaid were few of the reasons why Zaid was forced to question his actions and make amends.

Guilt Not Greed

This episode opened with Zaid selling the things which brought him the utmost happiness only a few weeks back. The desperation with which he sold these things showed that his actions now were driven by a sense of guilt instead of greed. Since Zaid was always more self-absorbed than negative therefore these changes in his personality were convincing throughout. There was always good in him but he never let it take over because he believed that getting material possession was the ultimate path to success. Watching Naina – a girl who came from an affluent background – treasuring relationships and feelings he always took for granted proved to be an eye-opener for Zaid. Also, Naina’s vulnerability and her decision to put her trust in Zaid proved to be the final nail in the coffin. For the longest time, Zaid could not understand Naina but now that he does, he can see that true happiness cannot be achieved through material possessions. Zaid’s thought process couldn’t have been shown more logically. Although the change in his personality is huge but even then it is extremely easy to connect to.

Naina Wins Everyone Over

Naina’s decision to have faith in people who gave her respect and trusted her, changed everything. The positivity in Naina’s character has been shown beautifully throughout. Her character basically shows that when you think positively about others and about your situation, good things happen automatically. In this episode, when Saba tried to convince Zaid’s parents and Shabana that Naina was pretending to be someone she wasn’t, no one listened to her. All of them took a stand for her and the way Zaid’s father in particular defended her was heart-warming. Madiha Imam’s expressions in that scene were priceless because they reflected different emotions which Naina was going through superbly. While she was upset that Saba found out about her meeting with Arham, she was also touched by the response she got from her in laws. Even Khadija defended Naina because she too has realized that she was wrong about Naina all along. The warmth and love Naina has given her in laws is being returned now which is also another reason why Zaid has started questioning himself.

Sami Khan/ Zaid Steals The Show!

Although Naina’s character is absolutely adorable and Madiha Imam is brilliant as Naina, Sami Khan always manages to steal the show almost effortlessly. Just few weeks back, he gave the viewers so many reasons to hate Zaid and after watching this episode, I am certain all the viewers out there want him forgiven so that he can get his happy ending! Sami Khan always underplayed Zaid’s negative traits and has done complete justice to this recent change in Zaid’s character. The characterization is on point too but translating these changes effectively on screen was crucial to the impact this character would have had on the viewers . Sami Khan has yet again proved his versatility by making the viewers hate and then fall in love with his character.

Preview of Episode 22

The preview of the next episode showed that Naina’s father will go and tell her everything. I have to say that Behroze Sabzwari’s acting has failed to impress completely. His dialogue delivery is slow and he tends to go overboard. Although, his character is not exactly likeable either but his performance is strictly okay too. I hate to say all this about a seasoned actor but I feel that he is a miscast in this drama.

Overall Impression

This episode was mind-blowing and I am certain the upcoming episode will be even better! This episode was directed brilliantly too. The story is more interesting and enticing right now than it was before. This drama could have been one of the best dramas of this season if the supporting cast and the production values were better. Also, this drama deserved a better treatment by the channel and a better slot too!

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 19 & 20 Review Story – Amazing!

These two episodes of Woh Mera Dil Tha had many important developments to their credit. They were thoroughly entertaining and also had a few unexpected twists. There are very few dramas which are so convincing that after watching them you don’t have to wonder what why and if and this is turning out to be one such dramas. The characters are intriguing and likeable at the same time. Even when Zaid’s character annoys you with his selfishness, you fully understand why he is like this and Sami Khan makes it so easy for the viewers to not hate this character altogether! Sami Khan and Madiha Imam also share good on-screen chemistry because of which their scenes are always a pleasure to watch. Faiza Iftikhar’s dramas always have a surprise in store and her characters are easy to connect to. Also, her heroines are most often different from the two extremes we see in our dramas all the time. Naina’s character could easily have come across as one of those gullible leading ladies had she not questioned the way she was feeling every now and then. Also, Zaid, the master manipulator, left no stone unturned to make sure that Naina believed her.

These two episodes were so exciting and happening that I am not sure where to start from! It seems like Zaid has fallen for Naina while trying to make her fall in love with him. Naina too is truly obliged and attracted towards Zaid if not completely in love with him. There was a time when Zaid was not even interested in getting to know Naina because he was so sure that he already knew her so well. In these few episodes, he made a conscious attempt to spend time with Naina not because he liked her but because he was scared that Naina might go back to Arham. When Zaid started convincing Naina that he was in love with her he only did so because he could not imagine living without all the luxuries but in the latest episode for the first time it seemed like he had actually started appreciating the likeable aspects of Naina’s personality. Zaid just found out that Naina was a different person now and he also for the first time questioned himself for using someone! This was an important and unexpected change in his character.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 19 & 20 Review Story - Amazing!

Until last week, he was so busy covering up for himself and executing his plan that he did not have the time to think about how wrong his approach was. It was good to see this change in his personality but it will not be easy for him regain Naina’s trust once she finds out what he has been up to.

Naina has started seeing Zaid as a more responsible individual than she thought he was. She is also convinced that Zaid is actually capable of loving someone. Sami Khan’s brilliant performance is one of the main reasons why this latest development has been so easy to connect to. Naina’s character is extremely likeable and equally convincing. The writer has made sure that the viewers understand well why Naina has changed so much. She always had material possessions but she never had someone who trusted her completely. She thinks she finally has the kind of family she always wished she had therefore the worldly possessions don’t mean anything to her.

Zaid has changed but at the same time he is still playing games with Naina and also tried to convince himself that he did not need to be so honest! These conversations which the characters have with themselves reveal a great deal about what is going on in their mind and help the viewers understand them better. I really appreciate the fact that the writer did not leave much to the viewers imagination because in such situations especially, it isn’t fun wondering what the character’s actual motives are. We know that Zaid is changing and we also know that he is noticing these changes but trying to fight them at the same time. These conflicts and struggles makes these characters more relatable.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 19 & 20 Review Story - Amazing!

Arham and Zaid finally met, Zaid told him the truth with some modifications here and there. Arham and Naina’s meeting would be next and right now it is easy to predict how that will go but there are many reasons to look forward to it nonetheless. The viewers will know how Naina truly feels about her relationship with Zaid when she meets Arham. Naina does not lie or play games therefore whatever she says to Arham will be the truth. Also, it remains to be seen if Arham will try and remind Naina that Zaid is not reliable.

Naina’s relationship with her in laws was the most endearing part of these two episodes. Zaid’s never-ending mind games, kept these two episodes interesting and happening. The performances, the script and the direction could not have been better!

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 16 Review – Entertaining!

This episode was thoroughly entertaining and I am really enjoying the recent shift in the story and different changes in the characters. It is definitely time to tune into this drama once again especially for those people who might have stopped watching it after watching the initial episodes. Zaid and Naina’s track has taken centre stage and the recent developments have been fast paced as well as interesting. Zaid and Naina both have “gained” something from an experience which initially left them bewildered and upset. Naina has learned that money is not everything, she is quite happy with the love and trust she is getting. Therefore she is doing everything she can to give some love back. She has no idea that Zaid is taking money from her mother therefore she thinks that Zaid has perhaps changed a little. She has also been shown as someone who appreciates every little thing someone does for her and is completely different from Zaid who is selfish and thankless. The shift is Naina’s personality is likeable as well as convincing. This change did not come overnight and considering how “insecure” her father always was, it is easy to understand why this new-found trust would give her the courage and confidence to see something positive in an otherwise bleak situation.

Zaid is a selfish and greedy man who is making the most of this opportunity. Right now, even though Naina has changed so much Zaid is not interested in her at all. He notices the changes in her but unlike Naina he fails to see anything positive. He is thoroughly enjoying the fact that he is getting monetary help from Naina’s mother but he is so insensitive that he is using the car given to him to give other girls free rides. Naina and his sister still use public transport or walk back home! Until last week I didn’t feel the need to judge Zaid’s character because he came across as amusing but tonight I definitely felt for Naina. Zaid is cheating on her in so many different ways and he does not even pause for a second to think about how unfair he is being! Sami Khan has translated the character of a self-centered man who has hit a jackpot brilliantly. His expressions and dialogue delivery is always on point and effortless. Madiha Imam is extremely likeable in this role. She has done complete justice to her character and after this episode, I am dreading the fact that she will eventually find out what is going on and she will be heart broken.

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 16 Review - Entertaining!

The change in Fayyaz and Nawaz’s character is another interesting development. Although the actor playing Nawaz’s role completely killed the affect those dialogues could have had but the writer managed to get the message across. Nawaz has finally forgiven Fayaz which means that eventually both these families will meet at some point. Fayaz has also partially forgiven Naina and tried to help Zaid’s father today. Zaid’s father is completely different from his son – sometimes you wonder who Zaid took after! Zaid’s father deserves tons of credit for giving Naina the confidence because of which she has undergone a complete change. Zaid and Naina’s scenes continue to be the best part of this drama. Naina’s efforts to get closer to Zaid’s family are also heart-warming.

In the preview of the next episode Arham was shown trying to get in touch with Zaid. It looked like Zaid will try to get closer to Naina now because perhaps he feels Naina might leave him if Arham comes back. Right now, the story has tons of potential and there is so much to look forward to. If this drama had better production values and the supporting cast was better, it could have been more visually pleasing as well.
