Meera who in recent past has issued many statements against Mahira Khan has now demanded a ban on the Bollywood film Raees in Pakistan. Raess, a Bollywood film starring Shahrukh Khan and Mahira Khan is releasing worldwide on 25th January 2017.

The release of Raees is not certain in Pakistan however the distributor and exhibitors trying hard to get the Non Objection Certificate (NOC) from the federal government required to import any foreign film.

Meera has recently signed a contract with a Lahore based theater director for four dramas. Meera’s first Theater drama will air on Eid-ul-Fitr, it will be titled “Welcome Meera”. Meera is very happy with her decision. She wants to add to the color of Lahore city. Meera cordially invited all her fans to come to watch her plays in theater.

Meera also said that she is not scared of negative things which people say about her all the time. Meera said that she is not scared of politics among co workers too. She said that in Pakistan the government comes in power for a limited period but she has been governing her field for 15 to 16 years now. Meera said that she plans to write and direct a film after Eid-ul-Fitr. Not just that she will also play the role of the heroine in the film.

In a hasty and emotional press conference held at the Lahore Press Club, veteran actor Meera decided to clear the air regarding some accusations made at her character. “Some people are accusing a real-life heroine like me” she added.

Talking to a group of rather noisy journos who would chuckle every now and then throughout the conference, Meera stated in an emotional manner, “My house is not a shelter home, it is my house, I live in it. I’m the superstar of Pakistan, I’m the heroine of Pakistan. In films and in real life, I live in the character of a heroine.” The actor left most of the participants clueless as to which particular incident she exactly referred to.

She also warned to hang herself if allegations proved true, “If the allegations against me are proved true, I will hang myself.”

Unfazed when unable to make out words from the script in her hand, she said “It doesn’t matter. Go ahead and laugh. It will make the headlines,” she said in response to chuckles.

Saying that her ‘only fault’ was doing favors for people for the sake of humanity, Meera further added that she was “a good daughter, a good friend, a good sister, pure, virtuous, innocent and an extremely good human being”.

However, she had a clash with some journalists later, she left the conference leaving her fathers and fellows behind.

Actress Meera has always managed to be in limelight, sometimes for her exceptional English skills and sometimes for the scandals which comes as a package with stardom. While Pakistan’s film industry seems to have taken new routes in the success journey, Meera is still found stuck in her old English-Urdu controversy.

The actress stated while talking to media that she loves her national language and hates to speak English at all. Neither will she ever be planning to learn English nor will she be speaking it unless it is necessary.

Pakistani star Meera is yet again making headlines. According to rumours doing rounds, Meera was barred from entering Gaddafi Stadium since she wasn’t carrying tickets for the event. However, she has finally responded to rumours that claimed she was stopped from attending last night’s PSL final in Lahore and had to settle for watching the match at home as she was denied entry after all her efforts!

According to Meera, she was stopped by the police from entering the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday. “I had not purchased the tickets myself, yes, because I had just returned from Dubai and wasn’t feeling well. In fact, I spent the day getting a body massage to feel better,” she told The Express Tribune. “But I came to the stadium because my sponsors wanted me to and for the sake of my fans who were waiting there for me. My sponsors had arranged V-VIP tickets but they were inside Gaddafi stadium and I was outside.”

Meera continued, “The issue was that the tickets were with the financiers. When I got to the stadium, the police officials present stopped me and asked me to show them my tickets. Thankfully, my sponsors came out and took me inside with them. I watched the match live from the V-VIP lounge.”

The controversy queen Meera Jee is making the headlines again and that too, for all wrong reasons. Merely a week or so after the PSL finale issue, the superstar has found herself in yet another controversy, this time with the Punjab Institute of Language, Arts and Culture (PILAC).

Reported by The Express Tribune, as per Meera’s statements, the institute owes her Rs25,000 for attending the recent Spring Festival in Lahore. However, PILAC officials claim that they had invited the celebrities simply for them to honour the Festival and Meera is the only one to demand money. The latter apparently made sure to inform the media officials present at the event that she was not being paid due to which, PILAC director Dr Sugra Sadaf was forced to hand her Rs25,000.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, Meera claimed that she is facing unemployment and is out of business. “All the artists here in Lahore, including me, are currently in a very tough spot. There is hardly any work to be done and I at least want to speak with the Chief Minister to discuss my situation with him in person. I want to re-start my showbiz career and produce a film but I don’t have the money to do so. Therefore, I want to request the CM to help me.”

According to Meera, it is common for event organisers in Lahore to reap benefits from celebrities and not pay up. “They make huge amounts of money but never pay us any of it. I don’t have any personal issues with the PILAC administration. Dr Sugra paid me from her own pocket and realising my troubles, has asked me to perform on March 17 as well, in return for Rs100, 000.”

Meera continued, “For the last two years, I have been travelling to different places for work and just returned to Lahore, which is in a crunch in terms of money and work. I want to go out and search for something to do but it’s painful since I don’t have money to purchase tickets either. How will I manage without money?”

“I am also planning on consulting with scholar Moulana Tariq Jamil to get some religious guidance to help me through this difficult time,” added Meera. “How else will I manage when there is no work for me? The Punjab government should take notice of my situation seriously.”

If rumors are to be believed, then the actress has also started selling off her prized possessions, she recently sold her car in order to acquire some funds for a film’s music recording.

With all these recent revelations, one can only wonder whether her unemployment stance is for real, since she’s known for pulling off publicity stunts to seek attention.

Meera and Iffat Omar have been indulged in ugly debate over age limit and shelf life of actor In which Meera was of the view that there is no shelf life of an actor, whereas Iffat Omar was of the view that I am not talking about Actor, I am talking about Heroine on which Meera said then Angelina Julie and Mahira should stay at home, mostly our actresses in sub-continent are mature why are they working? , now times have changed and age doesn’t matter and filmmakers are ready to cast mature actors. Why do our people like Hollywood movies? 
Iffat said, “because of content ” but Meera was of the view that no because they are not into these age complexes.
