When the host asked him about his views about Aamir Liaquat Hussain, he said, “Aamir Liaquat Sahib is an interesting personality. At times he gets too mad at me all of a sudden but then he gets perfectly fine.”
“I respect him with all my heart. He is a well-learned person, and Allah has blessed him with a good vocabulary.”
He further said, “However, I disagree with him on some topics and I say that openly and told him.”

Waseem Badami explained, “I mean it’s not that religion should not be in our lives, it should be but if we have a disagreement I should keep it between two of us but if you bring religion card in it then its not good.”

Ruswai is a drama serial that promised to raise the reproving topic of Gang rape. The drama started with a high note, first few episodes of the drama was exceptional and Sana Javed’s acting was also mind blowing.
But as the story evolved it emerged as a completely different drama and became a Watta Satta story. Samira’s brother played by Osman Tahir and his wife Minna Tariq who is Director Rubina Asharaf’s daughter got the spot light and through out the drama their story somehow became the central story with Sameera’s track was being side lined.
In the last episode Sameera’s track was covered wholesomely but everything happened abruptly; Sameera filled the case, won her battle, Salman died saving Sameera’s life and eventually Sameera married doctor Feroz and the entry of Mukhtara Mai at the end, it all happened in one last episode.
Ruswai gained a lot of fame and people liked this drama, on the other hand some people also criticized the drama for losing its track and for the sudden wrap up and believed that this drama is just another drama depicting different house hold issues not addressing a major issue like gang rape.
Sana Javed’s interview was aired by a web media channel the day Ruswai’s last episode was aired. Sana in her interview talking about the same issue said: “I am satisfied with my character.” “Its the duty of director, that what is his/her vision and how he/she carries the story and how to evolve the story, edit it and how to increase any character’s treatment.” added Ruswai’s actress.
Rubina Ashraf on the other hand who is the director of Ruswai came in her defense and she answered all the allegations in an interview. Talking about giving more screen time to her own daughter she said: “This controversy started after those two episodes after which Minna’s work actually became prominent; first in which she left baby in the bath tub, second when Hamza was in hospital. Minna did not have many scenes as such to prove her mattle except those two scenes. These are the two scenes in which Minna did not let down me and the production house after which the debate started which is a strange thing.”
Rubina Asharaf also addressed those people who raised this point and said: “My journey of Ruswai was extremely well, the conspiracy that started towards the end that scenes of Hamza and Minna are more than Sameera and actual script was not like that. If this didn’t happen our journey was very beautiful and all this bad patch is because of that one person, I am heart broken because I dealt with him/her with love throughout” said Rubina Asharaf.
Rubina Asharaf has some reputation; she is out spoken, never tells a lies, she is upfront, no one can say her something wrong. I just want to clarify it, its the matter of my integrity now. I just want to say that whatever Rubina did was written in the script as it is. Those people who raised this issue should be ashamed.” Rubina also criticized media journalists and said that this field doesn’t need people like you.

Ohkay so, Muqaddar is still in the initial stages & it is easy to believe that the actual story has not kickstarted yet. However, the way they are progressing the story, it still makes it a very good watch. There are always some emotional scenes which make you feel for the characters & relate to them. Muqaddar’s story so far is not new or hasn’t offered any of which has not been seen before, however, the acting & the overall execution makes it a decent drama to tune to.
Raima & Saif ur Rehman
Raima has not accepted Saif ur Rehman, but she has pretty much come to terms with the fact that she has been caged & she has nowhere to go. Raima promised herself as well as Saif ur Rehman that she will never forgive him or forget all that he has done & so far, she is sticking to her words. Saif ur Rehman is doing everything to make her feel like she is the most prized possession of his – this is his way of showing what she means to him but Saif ur Rehman doesn’t know that this mentality & thinking is exactly what makes Raima feel suffocated & disgusted. Raima was a girl full of dreams, she wanted to achieve so much & had set so many goals for herself but to see someone ripping her dreams into pieces has left her shattered.
Every step of the way, Raima’s portrayal of dejection was brilliant. She has lost that will to live, the drive that she had to experience life. Right now, she is being constantly reminded that her level has been elevated because of her marriage to Saif ur Rehman & she is unable to wrap her head around it. Raima comes from a very different background, therefore she feels sad at the tunnel visioned thinking of those women around her who think Raima’s life is sorted because she got married to a feudal lord like Saif ur Rehman. Raima obviously can not change their mentality or thinking, that is why she is left speechless, however every chance she gets, she lets them know that she doesn’t believe in any of this.
Saif ur Rehman allowed Raima to meet her family. It was only because he wanted her to tell them that she is now married to him. Saif ur Rehman also wanted to send a message to Haris loud & clear that Raima now belonged to him, therefore he should accept the fact & move on. Raima’s meeting with her uncle & aunt was very emotional & well acted. Madiha Imam is superb when it comes to emotional scenes & she had added so much feel & depth in all the scenes of this kind. Fazila Qazi & Saife Hassan supported her brilliantly in this scene too. It was nice to see Arshad & Bilquess being apologetic because they actually know that they didn’t do much for her. Bilquees’ eagerness of not letting Raima go was sweet too. For her, Raima was like a daughter, therefore she loves her a lot & all the emotions she showed depicted just that.
Saad has been trying his best to get any clue about Raima but Saif ur Rehman is not willing to help. Saad still hasn’t understood the hesitation his uncle is showing when it comes to this matter, especially when all of this is quite easy for him to achieve. Farkhanda has realized that the cold behavior of Saif ur Rehman is very much due to his fondness for someone else. This is something that Farkhanda has experienced sporadically while being married to Saif ur Rehman, therefore she is very much aware of what her husband is upto. Farkhanda doesn’t seem to be the kind who would take a stand for herself, may be because so far in life, she was just happy with the fact that she was the only woman Saif ur Rehman was married to, but now with Raima in the picture, she will definitely suffer. The complexes have now started creeping into Farkhanda where she can’t bear the fact that Saif ur Rehman looks down on her. So far, it doesn’t look like Farkhanda will do much or will have something going for her character but if she does something to take a stand for herself, then it would definitely be interesting.
Haris continues to be bitter & seeing Maham coaxing her love & affection onto him agitates him further. Maham thinks she is going the right thing by showing all of her love & support but Haris is not in the right frame of mind to ignore or let go any of what she does easily. Haris feels irritated at everything that she does, however there was a slight shift in Bilquees’s behavior towards Maham, which makes me think it won’t be too long before she tells Haris to consider marrying Maham. Areeba decided to let her father know that she is not really into Saad & doesn’t want to get married but it seems her parents are not going to entertain her thoughts & ideas because they actually want her to get married to Saad, it is obvious that they want the cousins to get married to each other so that they can keep the wealth within the family & don’t have to worry about the distribution of property in the later stages of life.
Well Directed Drama
These episodes of Muqaddar were interesting, however I am keen to see the story kickstarting with the main focus being on Raima & Saif ur Rehman. Madiha Imam & Faysal Qureshi are definitely making this drama worthwhile & all the supporting actors have played their part equally well to make their characters shine through & look relatable. She said: “Mister Prime Minister its 2 O’Clock of night in New York and I am stuck in a room of New York. I came here with Humayun Saeed and other artists for shows and shooting of movie. My all colleagues went back whereas I am stuck in New York. I have no savings and my survival is difficult here. New York is becoming a cemetery and thousands of people are dying daily. Everyone has to die but I don’t want to die in a foreign country. Mister Prime Minister you have always supported artists. All the counties are taking their people back. I am requesting you to do measures to bring me back to my country.”

Tonight’s episode of Sabaat covered Miraal’s growing curiosity and her attempt to keep herself busy. Anaya’s opinion about Hasan changed and Hasan is already dreaming about getting married to Anaya because she is ‘different’! Some of the characters are interesting but I must say that I am not too impressed with the dialogues. Even the situations are already getting repetitive. In this episode too there was a lot of focus on Miraal trying to control Hasan’s life. While Hasan’s friend’s undue concern for him makes sense, it is also extremely annoying! Basically, everyone has been shown opposing Hasan’s decision in their own way.
This episode also established the fact that Hasan and Miraal are not close to their mother at all. The only time we saw this family in the same frame was in the first episode! 10 days after the death of her mother, Miraal’s mother was thinking about marrying her children off! That was really odd.
Nirmal’s character did not add anything new to the story, she is another person who does exactly what Miraal wants. Miraal decided to start going to the office regularly yet there wasn’t a single scene in which she either discussed this with her father or one which covered him welcoming her. This was a slow-paced episode of Sabaat, I am waiting for the drama to take off. So far I feel that there is more focus on the visual aspect of the drama. Sarah Khan really should go easy on the make-up where it isn’t needed.
Latest Developments
All the characters got plenty of screen time in tonight’s episode. The opening scene showed a more playful and uncompromising side of Anaya. This is one character that definitely has more going for it than all the others. Mawra Hocane’s portrayal is honest and convincing. Anaya is the only character that actually surprises me at times. Tonight in the bus she told Hasan something entirely different from what I was expecting her to say. This time around though thankfully Hasan did not change his plans based on what Anaya said! Anaya is level-headed and quite likable. I am finding it really hard to connect to Hasan’s ‘journey’ right now. Ameer Gilani is doing the bare minimum and that is just not enough!
Miraal locked herself in her room after her naani’s death and she has been secretly reading her diary. Unfortunately, there was no new information in this diary. What Miraal read was a repetition of everything naani had been saying to her. I really wish we could move on and I am waiting to find out where all this is leading. The fact that naani was a lot like Miraal has been well established by now.
Hasan and Anaya
Hasan and Anaya’s last day in the university was also the first day when they interacted in a friendly manner. Their conversation on the bus was well written but honestly speaking I am not rooting for this couple just yet! Why would someone like Anaya fall for Hasan? Waiting to find out. The ‘advice’ the professor gave these students was quite lame! I wish this advice was more meaningful and not so plain.
Miraal finally told her parents about Anaya, thankfully her father did not overreact like her. Later on, it was surprising that she made the first move. She is surely not going to be accommodating so easily therefore it remains to be seen what she intends to do. Hasan’s father seems like a sensible man and the actor playing the role has also done justice to it. Anaya’s scene with her father was sweet as usual.
Final Remarks
I must confess that I am especially disappointed with Miraal’s character, it is too shallow so far. Although Hasan is out to prove himself but his journey isn’t as engaging and impactful as it should be, given the circumstances. Ameer Gillani’s overall look and performance both have been quite average. I am wondering how he managed to bag this role. Mawra Hocane has been acting really well throughout. Javeria Kamran also gave a decent performance tonight. I was definitely expecting more from this episode. I am really hoping that we get to see better episodes in the upcoming weeks.
