Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has issued summon notices to Iffat Omar, Ali Gul Pir and 15 others for making derogatory remarks about Ali Zafar. The FIA proceedings are related to Zafar’s defamation case against Meesha Shafi, who accused him of sexual harassment in which he was proved innocent.
Ali Zafar submitted an application to the cyber crime wing of the agency in which it was mentioned that he is being maligned through various pictures and his video clips that were posted on social media . He called this a ‘pre-planned conspiracy’ due to which him and his family faced severe mental stress and financial loss.
The FIA has also summoned Maham Javed, Fareeha Ayub, Mohsin Syed and Subha Ghani among others. While model-actor Iffat Omar has already recorded her statement, the rest are expected to have their statements recorded next week.
According to Deputy Director of FIA, Ali Zafar had moved an application and requested an action to be taken on it. As a result, the cyber crime wing is taking all necessary measures.
The journalists tried to reach out to Ali Gul Pir and Iffat Omar but they didn’t show up regarding the matter.
Ali Zafar last month, expressed outside the court and revealed the propaganda of Feminists that how fake social media accounts were setting a campaign to defame him and his reputation.
He said they are doing it for personal gains and this is why the movement is losing its meaning because there are many real life victims who need to raise voice but such fake voices suppress their voice and the game is being played against me, he said I am being used to officially launch the me too movement and I am going to fight against it
All the digital media accounts were interlinked with a group of Feminists. The common link seems to be Nighat Dad. They were all either working with or for her,” he had then shared.
“There is a social media campaign against me,” Zafar maintained. “Shafi’s lawyer has been following and retweeting fake accounts. We have filed a case against this as well with the FIA, since it comes under cyber crime and cyber bullying.”

Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi Harassment case remained a part of highlights ever since Meesha Shafi filed a case of sexual assault against Ali Zafar.
The case got complexed after the addition of various other cases one of which was filed by Ali Zafar against Meesha Shafi and her other fellows for staging a smear campaign against Ali Zafar. FIA has released the final verdict of this case and finds Meesha Shafi and 7 other people guilty of running a slanderous social media campaign against singer Ali Zafar.
In the challan submitted to a Lahore court on Tuesday, the FIA said these people were unable to provide witnesses to Shafi’s sexual harassment. This is not a final verdict in the harassment case.
In the interim challan, the FIA said: “During the course of investigation so far Meera Shafi alias Meesha Shafi, Iffat Omar, Maham Javaid, Leena Ghani, Haseemus Zaman, Fariha Ayub, Syed Faizan Raza, Humna Raza, and Ali Gul Pir have been found guilty in this case as per available oral and documentary evidences. However, the complainant recorded his statement in favor of Hamna Raza to the extent of accepting her apology, thus she is not required in the investigation furthermore.”
The eight people named in the case were booked on September 29 under Section 20 (Offences against the dignity of a natural person) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act and Section 109 (Punishment of abetment) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
In April 2018, Shafi took to Twitter to accuse Zafar of physically harassing her on ‘more than one occasion.’ “This happened to me despite the fact that I am an empowered, accomplished woman who is known for speaking her mind,” she said. In response, Zafar filed a defamation suit against Shafi.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cyber crime wing has registered FIR against the singer Meesha Shafi for her involvement on a smear campaign against singer-actor Ali Zafar.
Meesha Shafi, actor-host Iffat Omar, Leena Ghani, Fariha Ayub, Maham Javid, Ali Gul, Haseemuz Zaman Khan, Humna Raza and Syed Faizan Raza have been booked under crime section 20 (1) of Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 and R/W 109-PPC.
According to FIR, the putative were summoned by FIA Cyber crime wing to present their defense but they didn’t come because of which FIA got a cause of criminal proceedings against them.
In November 2018 Ali Zafar has filed an FIR against Meesha Safi as a result of those accusation of Sexual harassments which were out on Ali Zafar by Meesha Shafi under the banner of #METOO Movement.
Ali Zafar filed a complaint with FIA cybercrime wing pledging that many social media accounts were posting “threats and defaming material” against him.
Meesha Shafi had appeared before FIA with her team of Lawyers in December 2019 but the FIR says that Meesha Shafi failed to produce any witness in favor of allegations against Ali Zafar.
Popular Youtuber Umer Khan aka Ukhano was accused of sexual harassment. He registered FIR and after a year Federal Investigation Agency Cyber Crime Wing has come up with a final report.
FIA has cleared his name and he was falsely accused. The alleged lady after pre-arrest bail from the competent court appeared and stated that she did not upload allegations of sexual harassment against Umer Khan on social media as her Facebook ID was hacked by someone and she was not the one who uploaded the allegations of sexual harassment against Ukhano.
The case has been officially closed because Ukhano does not want to proceed with the FIR against the accuser.
In an interview, Ukhano said, “I stand against harassment and I strongly condemn it but when someone is falsely accused on social media it makes them a target of online bullying and harassment. We should always wait for the verdict of the official authorities “innocent until proven guilty” rather than forming an opinion on the basis of what you see on the internet.”
Hina Mehhmood is a YouTuber who has been working for the various YouTube channels as a reporter and anchor. Recently, the YouTuber has come into the news after FIA arrested her.
She was arrested on the complaint launched by higher officials of Federal and Punjab government.
During an interrogation by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), it came to light that she tried to hack the Gmail, Hotmail, Skype, Instagram, and Snapchat accounts of a man and later on she shared a few improper videos from his social media handles to others.
She is also accused for disseminating inappropriate videos from two different WhatsApp numbers and she also used VPN to avoid being scrutinized.
The FIA arrested the YouTuber after a complaint was launched from a man and a woman, they were of the view that Hina Mehmood had tried to hack their social media accounts.
The initial investigations also suggested that the accused has a lot of inappropriate videos of higher government officials.
The Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a man accused of blackmailing the children through pornographic videos , in an operation , in Jamshoro district of Sindh.
According to officials, the operation was carried out by FIA Gujranwala in Jamshoro in which accused Shoaib Khan has been arrested.
The parents of the victim, a resident of Gujarat, had filed a petition against the accused. According to FIA Deputy Director Muhammad Iqbal, several videos have been recovered from the possession of the accused.
The FIA Cyber Crime Wing says that the accused also used to ask some children for the videos of their families. Later on through those videos , he used to blackmail families of the children as well.
So far , he has blackmailed children from KP , Punjab and Sindh. Now the case has been filed against the accused in cyber crime wing .

Eid is just around the corner. I am sure that everyone is done with their Eid shopping and other preparations by now. It always makes me a little sad when the month of Ramadan is drawing to a close because there are so many of us who normally do not follow the teachings of Islam all through the year except in this month. In my opinion while we are all busy with the festivities of Eid, there are a few things which we should not forget.
The spirit of Islam should continue even after the end of the Holy month
The holy month of Ramadan gives us few very valuable lessons. Firstly, that our lives should be dedicated and centered around our religion. Secondly and most importantly there is pleasure in giving. All through Ramadan we try to help out as many people as we can but why only in Ramadan. Why not continue helping others, not just financially but in any way we can all through the year and especially on Eid. The most important thing to remember this Eid is that we must not forget to be generous. Sharing and giving is what can make this occasion more memorable and special, not just for us but also for those who do not have as much resources as many of us.
Don’t forget that we are all equal in the eyes of God
Ramadan teaches us the lesson that we are all equal in the eyes of God. All Muslims, whether they are rich or poor, young or old, live in Europe or Middle East, all of them have the same rituals during Ramadan. We must remember that all teaching of Islam basically try to teach us that we are all equal in the eyes of God. Never look down upon anyone because of their social status.

Try to make someone happy even if you have to go out of your way to do so. Making children happy in particular can be s o rewarding, that is something I know from personal experience. Yes it is strictly everyone’s personal matter who we decide to vote for but we also have to bear in mind that our votes will collectively decide the fate of the entire nation. For this very reason it is very important that we make informed decisions and vote for the party who we think will be able to fulfill its promises and take our country out of this difficult situation. I am not going to mention here where my loyalties lie but one thing I know for sure is that I am not going to be voting in favor of the Pakistan People’s Party and I have some very solid reasons to support my case which I am going to share with you. Please feel free to share your thoughts. The reasons are as follows:
Pakistan People’s Party did nothing for the country or even the democratic process during its five years in tenure. Five years is a long enough time for a party to prove itself but PPP did nothing to make the life of the common man easy. Forget about the common man, even people who are affluent found it extremely difficult to cope with the energy crisis. Businesses suffered badly but despite of all this the PPP chairman still claims that PPP worked very hard to keep the economy stable in the most trying of times…a claim that makes me laugh!
Pakistan has parliamentary system, which means that the Prime Minister is the head of the government and is the main executive authority in the state but the changes that were made by Musharraf turned the Prime Minister into a puppet and the President exercised the executive powers. The PPP government did not amend the clause and the president continued enjoying the powers which are not rightfully his in a parliamentary system. The entire tenure of the PPP government was based on one man show. The five years of PP’s tenure were nothing short of torture in every sense of the word. There was insecurity, injustice and price hike beyond limits.
What is a party without a leader? Yes, this is a very strange but true fact that PPP lacks proper leadership. The party that was once known for its charismatic leadership seems to be lacking a proper leader who can communicate with the masses or represent the party properly. All those leaders who were very close to Benazir Bhutto were relegated to the background soon after her death and although Benazir’s son Bilawal “Bhutto” Zardari was made the chairman of the party but the fact is that he is only 20 years old, has absolutely no experience regarding politics and is merely being used as a pawn. What is worse is that it is common knowledge now that Bilawal and Zardari have been having disagreements and that is the exact reason why Bilawal did not even mention his own father when he addressed the nation and is not even going to be here in the country when the elections take place. Zardari has failed to rise as a true leader and others are probably not allowed to take a lead, which suggests that there are bifurcations within the party and for this very reason I don’t have high expectations from PPP.
I don’t agree with the “Kabar ki siasat” theme of PPP’s election campaign. I am not going to talk ill of the dead; yes Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s charisma was unmatched and Benazir followed in her father’s footsteps and both of them were murdered in cold blood but ENOUGH ALREADY. For how long is PPP going to rely on the “shuhda” and keep on expecting people to give them sympathy vote. Why don’t they have any new leaders to show for? Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto will always be remembered in history as great political leaders but how can the PPP keep on asking people to vote for them when they are no longer alive and how can the voter say that they will vote for Bhutto when Bhutto is no longer alive. Can we please bury the dead and let them be at peace. The fact that PPP has to rely on kabar ki siasat goes to show that they have nothing else to their credit, which is very sad!
PPP’s slogan does not appeal to me at all because they did not do even half of what they promised in five years of their tenure. I agree, no political party has ever come up to the expectations of the people or has kept all the promises that it made during the elections, it is not humanely possible because there are external factors involved which may be out of anyone’s control but PPP has made a mockery out of its own slogan by going against everything they promised. Roti Kapra aur Makaan…anyone out there who got these three easily while PPP was in power? Maybe they should replace it with bijli, paani aur gas. Ilm, sehat, sab ko aam…this reminds me of all the doctors’ strikes and the government’s failure to resolve the issue. Dehshat se mahfooz awam…I cannot even count the bomb blasts that I have personally heard during the PPP tenure. The government’s inability to deal with the situation was nothing hidden. The mobile phones signals disappearing for days was the only solution the government could come up with. Ooncha ho jamhor ka naam…there is no democracy within the party itself so expecting them to promote democracy on the national level would be expecting too much.
I am sorry if I offended anyone with my arguments but consider this article more of venting out than anything else, you should feel free to do the same.

However, there are some who appeared on television during PTV era but unfortunately vanished from the screen too soon. These talented artists quietly slipped in to the shadows but their remarkable performances have immortalized them.
I would try to recall and talk about such beautiful faces of Pakistani dramas, who were once the luminosity of screen but have obscured somewhere today. They were volcanoes of talent, born with a lucky charm of ruling the hearts.
Shehnaz Sheikh
A versatile drama veteran and theatre director Shehnaz Sheikh who has been seen in some outstanding PTV dramas such as ‘Tanhaiyan’ and ‘Ankahi’ from where she got immense popularity. She has also appeared in some famous TV shows, ‘Uncle Sargam’ and ‘Yes Sir No Sir’ in which she captured the hearts of audience but soon after she disappeared from the screen. People always wanted to see her more but she restricted herself from acting. She had a reason for staying away from dramas. She once said that she didn’t see any diversity in characters she was offered at that time and therefore parted ways from acting.
In 2010, she came into limelight again by directing a theater play ‘The Mousetrap’ which was greatly acknowledged by the audience.
However, the acting career of Shehnaz Sheikh was short-lived yet highly remembered. People expected to see her in ‘Tanhaiyan Naye Silsiley’ which was the sequel of her famous play ‘Tanhaiyan’. ‘Tanhaiyan Naye Silsiley’ was aired on ARY digital but unfortunately the expectations of watching her perform once again didn’t meet the reality and we didn’t get to see more of her.

One of the most learned actors of our drama and film industry, Rahat Kazmi is not only a wonderful actor but has been a brilliant anchor person of his times. He saw success on both small and big screens during 1970’s and 1980’s. ‘Dhoop Kinarey’, ‘Nangay Paon’, ‘Parchaiyan’, ‘Saraab’ are some plays in which he has showed his extraordinary acting skills. He was also seen in movies like ‘Insaniyat’, ‘Khandaan’, ‘Saima’, ‘Jann-e-Mann’ and many more to count.
I think the serenity of his personality reflects in his performance that has enchanted the audience over years. Unfortunately, he is also among those actors who left television too early and made our drama industry deprived of a precious gem.
In 2006, after a prolonged break he was seen again in in a drama serial named ‘Kaisey Kahon’. Watching Rahat Kazmi once again on television was a treat to one’s eye but he was not seen again in any dramas since then.

Sahira Kazmi, one of the most talented names of our drama industry has also been very popular on television over the years. ‘Parchaiyan’, ‘Teesra Kinara’, ‘Qurbatein aur Faslay’ are the most remembered drama serials in which she acted alongside her spouse Rahat Kazmi. The couple appeared in the lead roles and were highly acclaimed.
She disappeared from the screen in 1980’s and thus one more beautiful face of our television was lost. She was not only a gorgeous actress but was also a striking director. She enjoyed popularity on television during 1980’s and 1990’s but then she vanished from screen for many years. Marina then opted to stay behind the cameras and started working more as a director.
In, 2005 she appeared in a drama serial ‘Kaisey kahon’. She was again seen in 2013 in ‘Tanhaiyan Naye Silsiley’ which was also directed by her. In the following year, she appeared in a light comedy drama serial ‘Jackson Heights’. The return of Marina Khan to television delighted her fans again and they were overwhelmed by her screen presence.
The contribution of Marina Khan as a comedy play director is enormous. She has directed the plays ‘Azar Ki Ayegi Baraat’, ‘Dolly Ki Ayegi Baraat’, ‘Takkay Ki Ayegi Baraat’ and ‘Annie ki Ayegi Baraat’ that has been greatly enjoyed and appreciated by the viewers. In these plays she has taken the situational comedy to a level which is unparalleled.
Recently there is a good news for all the Marina Khan lovers that she will be doing her film debut in upcoming movie ‘Na Maloom Afraad 2’ and will also soon appear in another Pakistani movie ‘Parwaz Hai Junoon’. Hence there would be a chance to get a glimpse of her again. She would also be coming in a mystery serial ‘Dhund’ on TV One, as announced by a social media page of the channel itself.
The aforementioned personalities are few of my personal favorites whose non-availability from screen has always been deeply felt by me. Their absence has created a void that can never be filled. It is heartening to see Marina’s comeback a few times on television, but her prolonged absence from the drama industry would be hard to compensate.

Ahad Raza Mir is the find of the industry. In a short span of time, with his unique approach towards his career he has paved a way for himself. Ahad Raza Mir succeeded in earning a name not only because of his talent but also because of the kind of projects he has chosen over the years, which allowed him to showcase his craft in a different manner every single time. Ahad is a fine actor who knows how to breathe life into his characters, this is the reason they become easy to relate to and their journeys become closer to the hearts of the audience who are watching him and his dramas.
Ahad Raza Mir is a young and dynamic actor, therefore he always gets to represent similar demographic in his dramas. His portrayals have been different but he has made sure that they are inspiring to his fans as well as those who are watching him. Although all of his characters are very different and varied from one another, there are a few things which are common in his characters. Let’s just say these are the things that we often find Ahad Raza Mir associated with in his dramas. It is interesting to note that every other drama of Ahad is different in terms of story line, direction and execution, these things are always a part of his character and overall journey.
From Zorro to Sheru, the characters played by Ahad Raza Mir are associated with pets one way or the other. His love for his pets is one of the very important aspects of his character, so much so that we also saw how he instructed his house staff to be respectful towards Zorro in Ehd e Wafa. In Ye Dil Mera, Ahad’s character also termed his pet dog Sheru as the only family that he has had. The scenes shot with his pet dogs are always nice to see because they break the monotony of the usual routine of a character’s life and show him unwinding in a very unique way.
From Hi Octane tea to cooking food for his fiancée, Ahad’s characters showcase that men should be dynamic, multi-taskers and should know how to fend for themselves. This is the reason why after Ehd e Wafa, Ahad’s mother Mama Mir had to share the recipe of the very special Hi Octane tea which made everyone curious. In Ye Dil Mera, the most charming thing Amaan did for his fiancée, Ana was to cook food for her, despite the fact that he could’ve just taken her to any restaurant in the vicinity. These kind of scenarios in a drama show that such gestures are always special and well received by the ladies and to be honest, make the hero look very charming.
In every other drama, Ahad Raza Mir has to shoot a couple of such scenes where he has gone for a jog. It shows that the character in a drama takes his fitness very seriously and along with that, he has made sure to make discipline, schedule and a proper routine a part of his day to day life. In Ehd e Wafa, for obvious reasons, Ahad’s character Saad has to meet all the fitness standards and to be honest, all those scenes are energizing and motivating. Even in Ye Dil Mera, the introductory scene showed him going for a jog with his dog. In Yakeen Ka Safar, there were also a couple of scenes where Dr. Asfand Yar was shown to have gone for a walk or jog, when he was looking for some clarity and wanted to lighten his stress and burdens. That’s a good motivation for his fans for sure.
In every other drama, Ahad Raza Mir’s characters have wowed the viewers with their proposals. They are to the point, precise and strike a chord in a way that they immediately floor his leading ladies. It is interesting to note that this trait is very much similar in almost all of the characters that he has played, where he is never quite talkative and always makes sure to say what and how much is needed to be said. He knows how to put his message across in a very brief yet convincing manner. It is also not just about his proposals but overall personalities of the characters as well.
From Sammi to Yakeen Ka Safar, to Ehd e Wafa to Ye Dil Mera, all the characters that Ahad Raza Mir has played till date did well in their professional lives. He has always portrayed the characters who were determined, focused and career oriented, so much so that he put in full effort and potential to be where he wanted to be. His determination as an Army officer in Ehd e Wafa, focus and drive to make his surroundings a better place in Yakeen Ka Safar as a Doctor, as well as his approach towards expanding his business in Ye Dil Mera, that too at such a young age is definitely a common factor that can be seen in his characters. Even in drama serial Aangan, Jamil was so determined to complete his education and step in a practical life that he did not mind taking Chammi’s pocket money to pay his college fees. That’s some determination right there!
This definitely is another point worth noticing that most of his dramas that have gone air so far have been shot in beautiful locations of Northern Pakistan such as Murree, Islamabad and Azad Kashmir. No wonder why his dramas are visually appealing and the drama buffs have been spoiled so much that they want to see him in such settings in the future dramas too. It won’t be wrong to say that we can safely associate Ahad Raza Mir to beautiful Northern Areas of Pakistan and also can see him playing his part in promoting tourism in Pakistan by showcasing its beauty in his dramas. It might be luck that most of his dramas were set in such gorgeous locations but they definitely are one of the common factors for sure.
From playing guitar to sketching or painting, in every other drama, his characters are one way or the other associated with arts. In Ehd e Wafa, he made a sketch of Dua and even attended an arts class where he first saw her and fell in love. In Ye Dil Mera, Amaan in his childhood loved painting and drawing and when he grew up, the way he broke the ice with Ana was by sketching her portrait on a napkin. In Yakeen Ka Safar he played guitar. Although these are fictional characters that Ahad Raza Mir gets to portray as an actor, but in real life, being an artist himself, it is definitely refreshing to see him bringing that aspect to the forefront in his reel life too.

The Amsterdam Light Festival is an annual event held annually for two whole months from November to January. Tailor-made art pieces and installations by contemporary International artists, designers, and architects light up the inner city and canals. A selection committee then chooses about 30 artworks which make up the festival’s installations. There are many ways to enjoy the event which includes walking, strolling through on bikes or taking the official Light Festival cruises. The festival is worth attending and enjoying especially as a tourist.

Armeena Rana Khan is a very successful actress in our industry. She recently got engaged to beau Fesl Khan when he proposed her during vacations in Cuba. Since then he has been seen accompanying her at different places. But for the first time, Armeena has officially introduced Fesl to everyone when the couple came as guests in Geo Subah Pakistan. Both of them specially Fesl was very open about their relationship and shared many details about them with the audience.
Fesl is a politician who was brought up by a single mother. The way Fesl talked about his mother was simply beautiful. He shared how she had to face a lot of hardships but she came out at the top and made Fesl the best he could be. He also encouraged other single mothers to stay strong. Fesl is Armeena’s distant cousin and she was always annoyed with him in childhood since he used to beat her in chess. They have been best friends for a decade and were in a relationship too which came to a halt for almost two years. Fesl shared that how Armeena saw him with a girl and misunderstood him. She didn’t talk to him for two years because she felt betrayed. Fesl, on the other hand, thought that since she has become a star in Pakistan, she probably didn’t want to be with him. Two years later, Fesl decided to call her back and sought out the stuff since he didn’t want to have any regrets and today they are together; engaged and happy.
Fesl has served in the British Army for 4 years and his paternal family had an Army background too. He unfortunately never met his father because of his parent’s separation and later his mother’s permanent movement to the UK. His father died later but his mother always told him about his father’s family’s Army background and his maternal grandfather’s too which caused his interest in joining the Army. Fesl is a brilliant cook and can do household chores better than women according to him.
Fesl and Armeena both are very supportive of each other and discuss their professions. Armeena wrote a sweet letter for him in the show where she told him that she always misses him on sets.
Fesl’s Urdu is really nice and the way he expressed his love for Pakistan was beautiful too. We wish the couple a life filled with love and happiness ahead!

The world of Pakistani arts has seen some great names and faces attached to it. Feryal Ali Gauhar is one such name who has been memorable though she did not appear a lot on the screens. She is highly educated and she has served in the United nations as well. Feryal Gauhar has worked a lot around child protection and she is an advisor to the government for child protection.
She was a guest on Masarrat Misbah’s show and she shared her own story with the world as well as how she first hand dealt with the infamous Zainab Ansari case. She shared that she has been a victim of child molestation as well and when this happens, not even your family wants to acknowledge it.

She broke into tears while she talked about little Zainab’s case. She narrated how she met the family and how things moved forward at the time. Faryal also narrated how strong the belief of Zainab’s father was when he was trying to get justice for his little daughter.

Feryal narrated her own story that how as a four year old child she became a victim. They were travelling on a cruise where she was targeted by a steward. Feryal was off to get some vanilla ice-cream when she crossed paths with that tormentor and she was not even able to tell her mother that something bad happened. She added that to this day, after 60 years, she still cannot eat vanilla ice-cream as it makes her remember that day.

If we make a list of the most loved on-screen couples right now, Feroze Khan and Sana Javed are got to be one. Both the stars have been a part of people’s favourites since Khaani came on air. When I started working with Sana it was in Khaani so maybe we were immersed in our characters and because of that, we couldn’t get along. We jumped onto Dino Ki Dulhaniya right after and from there it was Romeo Weds Heer. By the time we started Romeo Weds Heer the impact of our previous characters was probably there but by the time we wrapped up, we were on quite great notes. We are quite amazing now. I think we definitely are a good pair.
