Meera Jee Claims She Is Just 32 Years Old!

It’s true that in today’s day and age, women become very sensitive when it comes to discussing their ‘age’. However, Meera’s case of her changing statements about her age is a total mystery!

Meera’s age has always been a complicated matter and she is usually seen clarifying the speculations. This time around the lady claimed that Google (which shows that her age is 40) is wrong and she’s way younger than 40!

According to Express.pk, the Lollywood veteran says that her real date of birth is 14th May 1985. This makes her age 32 years old. She also added that she will be spending her 32nd birthday with kids at an orphanage.

As far as I know, Meera has been associated with the entertainment field for a good 20 years, however, according to her, she is still 32 years old!

Sammi Episode 16 Review – Significant Developments

I love the pace of this drama and also the fact that the writer has a very strong grip on the story and the director has done everything he could to make it as realistic as possible. I have said this before but every time I watch a new episode of Sammi, I feel the need to say it again, I truly appreciate the fact that the writer and director both have done complete justice to all the tracks of the story which is why all of them are equally interesting. None of the characters or tracks is ever relegated to the background. The fact that all these tracks are interlinked also makes the whole scenario more interesting.

The change in Rashid’s character and Naheed’s conversation with Salima had to be my favorite part of this episode. Rashid has finally had enough and he has decided to change his priorities in life. He is no longer comfortable playing Chaudhry’s “kutta” and he understands that his daughters deserve better. He couldn’t do anything to save Sammi but he wants to do whatever he can to make his daughter’s lives better. I had no trouble connecting to the change in Rashid’s character because he was always shown as someone who did not really belong in this system but was only trying really hard to be a part of it because he believed he did not have a lot of options. He has now decided to make some choices himself and for a change his mother is supporting him. Maryam’s reaction to her father’s changed behaviour was right on point. The actress playing Maryam’s role is brilliant, she manages to make a big impact even if she has very little screen time.

I simply loved the entire situation which finally led to Naheed disclosing her secret to Salima. She could see why Salima was willing to put her life at stake in order to have Rashid’s son. It was wonderful watching these two weak women having this moment together in which one of them decided to help the other even though she herself is going through hell and the other one also poured her heart out to her because she had no one to talk to. Naheed’s character has been one of my favorite characters in the play; her situation is anything but ideal but even then she always finds ways to help others. Although her character is very different from that of Salima but both these women are equally vulnerable. Even with all the awareness, the education and even the strength Naheed is just as helpless as Salima. Nadia Afghan and Saman Ansari both are remarkable actresses; both of them have always altered their outlook and their acting style to suit the needs of the characters they are translating on screen.

Sammi’s track also took a really interesting turn in this episode and I am glad that Chandni is back in the picture. I can’t appreciate Noor-ul-Huda Shah enough for thinking everything through so well; when Salar sent Aalyan that recording the viewers were pretty sure this development will have a bigger impact on the story at some point but no one could tell it would one day help Sammi in this way. I couldn’t understand why Sammi was shown wearing all this make-up though. Sammi’s mother’s apology showed that she was “sorry” but not sorry enough! She also justified her actions while she apologized and accepted the fact that she couldn’t sacrifice her son to save Sammi. There was a time when Sammi thought there was hope, she was in denial and could not accept the fact that her family had forsaken her but everything she said to her mother tonight clearly showed that she did not expect anything from her family now. Aalyan finally managed to knock some sense into the chota chauhdry and it was great watching him do something right for a change. I can’t praise Bilal Khan and the child actor playing chota chaudhry enough for doing complete justice to their respective characters.

Am I the only one who really missed chaudhrani in this episode? I have a feeling that ultimately she will also help Sammi in some way. I can totally see all these characters rebelling against the chaudhry very soon. I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds in the upcoming episodes.

Sohai Ali Abro: I don’t believe in overexposure and have never enjoyed unnecessary publicity.

Having stolen our hearts with various roles, Sohai Ali Abro is a force to be reckoned with. A very talented actress who is currently categorised among one of the top actors of Pakistan. After appearing in JPNA, Sohai has now bagged the lead role in motorcycle girl’s biopic who is said to be the first Pakistan woman to have made a solo journey through the country’s north.

In an interview with the Express Tribune, Sohai opened up on fame, feminism and road to success.

“The fame wasn’t really instant since I had been working for a couple of years before my film debut. I don’t feel that fame has changed me as a person. It just gave me the determination to perform better and become the best version of myself,” she said when questioned her momentary rise to stardom.

“I had a difficult childhood with my parents passing away when I was 9. I have seen really tough times and I’m very grateful for everything, because it made me this tough woman that I am today. I am a warrior! I came into this industry completely on my own,” she continued.

“I faced my fair share of struggles and didn’t have many people around to guide me through the journey. I might not be as talented as a lot of others but I am a hard worker. With all this in mind, it is really important for me to stay grounded because life and experiences have taught me that. Nothing is constant in this world, especially fame,” she added.

When asked if she believes, her break might have affected her fan following? “I don’t believe in overexposure and have never enjoyed unnecessary publicity. I believe in quality rather than quantity when it comes to my projects, appearances and work in general,” she replied.

Speaking about her upcoming film on the motorcycle girl, Sohai said, “I was speechless when I saw Shah. I feel that Adnan is such a sensitive and intelligent filmmaker and truly believe in the kind of cinema he wants to create. I just knew I had to work with him someday, so when he called me for Motorcycle Girl, I agreed immediately. No matter what the budget is, I believe in this project. I also believe in Adnan’s vision, since he can see how important it is to portray empowered women in our society.”

“The films I have done so far have been very different from the kind of film this is. Of course, what the audience sees on the screen are the characters I play as per the script,” Abro said. “My criteria for signing a film have always been the same. I have always looked for some kind of margin to perform in the roles that I am offered. I instantly said yes Motorcycle Girl because it allows me to explore myself as an artist.”

“The pressure is definitely there, but I’ve always wanted to play a strong female role. I think Zenith is a true hero and her story is beyond inspiring. It’s one that needs to be told,” Abro asserted. “It feels surreal since films like these don’t really get made in our country, and to get to portray the lead role in one is amazing! The preparation itself is something I’m really looking forward to. It’s going to be a personal journey for me and hopefully, a life changing experience.”

Speaking about women-oriented films and evolution of cinema, she said “Of course, art does influence societies and can definitely encourage gender equality.”

She continues, “The audiences are way more intelligent than they used to be and you can’t take them for a ride anymore. I feel intelligent cinema can definitely be commercially successful if executed properly and in the right manner.”

Hope you all are keeping up with #kaisiyepaheli ! ???? Mondays 8pm on #urdu1 ?❤️

According to Abro, cinema is a reflection of society. “When it comes to feminism, I feel the word is deeply misunderstood in Pakistan. Feminism has absolutely nothing to do with man-hating, playing the victim or bashing the other sex. It’s about giving women a choice, liberation, freedom and equality. Feminism, by definition is the belief that both men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. I stand for that, if that makes me a feminist, then I am proud to say that I am one.”

"Love Letter inbound to Heaven” Lets start of by saying how important it is to live out each & every moment of our lives with the people who hold us the most dearly, most sincerely & love us unconditionally; our parents. I pray the Almighty Allah to give a long, healthy & happy life to all the parents in the world & for their children to make full use of the the time that they have been blessed with. On a rather paradoxical note, i will ask you this; if (and the emphasis is on ‘IF’) you were given a choice to choose which parent to hold on to & which parent to let go off (God Forbid), who would you choose? Your father or your mother? Before anyone gets all emotional & blows a rationale in my comments section, i would want to clarify that this is no manner showing your loyalty more to one parent, choosing a better person or any other ludicrous reason; this has been asked just to get our inner selves to speak. I will choose my mom; knowing that how close i was with my dad & how many sleepless nights i have in a month where i think about him or read his poetry. Why i say #MOM is because years of parenting has taught me a simple yet extremely significant difference between a father & a mother. A father would only understand, negotiate, punish or award etc a ‘black & white’ scenario; a mother on the other hand lives her entire dealing in the ‘grey areas’. Ammi, today you are in a better place with Papa in heaven looking over all of us & imagining what we all are up to. We miss you, i miss you, i miss your curious yet worried eyes, your silent yet expressive smile & there is nothing i would want more than to spend some more time on the dinner table sitting across & noticing how much i eat & then decide wether i look healthy or not. I can keep on writing but i also know Heaven keeps you busy & papa keeps you happy, that alone is more than enough for me to stop troubling you with my petty emotions. Know this however, i cannot be more thankful to Allah that i had you as a mother & i can’t be more grateful to you for shaping me in to the human i am today.

Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai Episode 6 – Viewers Zara Tham Ke!

This episode took dragging a certain issue which seems more like a non-issue right now to a whole new level and I have to admit that even though I was being really patient and tried my best to enjoy these conversations but I just could not do that!! I love Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s dialogues but only when they go well with the situation being presented on screen. Also, it is particularly odd that even these young people who are supposed to be fun loving and carefree speak like philosophers! It reminds me of the days when I was teaching; when we got an extra class and didn’t have enough to content to keep the students occupied, we sometimes used to talk about irrelevant things which were important generally but had nothing to do with that particular class!!

Gulrez might be sensitive and he will probably not take rejection well but the fact that most of the conversations in this episode revolved around Gulrez’s state of mind and whether Maheen will accept or reject the proposal was truly annoying especially because this has been going on for 3 episodes now!! The thought running through my head during this episode was, “God!!!! these people really need to get a life!!” I hate to say this but the first episode of this drama gave a completely different introduction to the story. It promised something meaningful and intense but what we are watching right now are a lot of heavy duty dialogues with very little context!

I am glad that Ayeza Khan is experimenting with her looks but her loud make-up, those curls and especially the dress she wore tonight when Maheen was out shopping was a little too over the top! That was a formal outfit which no one will wear to a mall or even during day time when they are out and about. Maheen should have been dressed in a fun and trendy manner but her overall outlook is more exaggerated than anything else. Fajr got a lot of screen time in tonight’s episode and her over excitement was cute as long as it looked like it will eventually lead to something but after those long scenes in which she tried to convince Gulrez that he should go ahead and hold Maheen’s hand (since that somehow will do the trick!) when Gulrez just backed out and turned to his foxy for comfort, I felt cheated!

The only conversation which I enjoyed was the one the entire family had when Maheen was at ami begum’s house. It was good to see someone talking about Waqar for a change! I am also surprised that ami begum values and loves Maheen more and was being very judgmental about Waqar even at this point when he was supposed to be very close to her.

I still feel that all the characters have a refreshing feel to them overall but the story so far does not have a lot to offer. The previous episode ended with Jia arguing with her father and this one too ended with him looking at Maheen while she got up to leave the party. Is there a connection between these two? The way his character is being gradually revealed, it seems like there is more to this track. Honestly speaking, I am tired of watching Faryal Mahmood play such roles and just like Ayeza Khan, she too is wearing a lot more make-up than required. Waqar Ahmed apologized to Maheen in this episode and it is highly likely that there is an “agenda” behind this apology. I have no idea why the background score was so romantic every time Waqar and Maheen met, it seemed out of place.

This episode was just as slow-paced as the last one and the conversations were highly repetitive. I hope it picks up pace and becomes more interesting in the upcoming episodes. I am pretty sure now that the viewers will have to watch this drama “zara tham ke” since the writer is in no hurry to take the story forward ;) Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar ko “halka na lei”!!!

PS: The review reflects my views about this episode and not the drama as a whole therefore like any other sensible and open-minded person, I am more than willing to enjoy future episodes if they are enjoyable!!!

Saba Qamar Is An Excellent Actor: Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Khan’s upcoming Bollywood movie Hindi Medium opposite Pakistani actress Saba Qamar is all set to release on May 19, 2017. The actor is glad that the film is going to have a safe release.

“The environment has become such that anything can happen any time. I remember at the time of Billu Barber, something had happened over a word. So, you always feel lucky when there’s no controversy, you never get to know when a mountain is made out of a molehill,” said Irrfan in a recent interview.

He further said, “I think working with Saba Qamar was an amazing experience, she is an excellent actor.”

His previous film Madaari was in hot waters for his remarks regarding Qurbani, and he is now being cautious while speaking anything publicly. “Yes… I am very careful, and I realised one thing: we don’t have a place where you can go and express yourself and say what you want to, you’re a media person and your intentions may be good and you might write the thing in the right context. But after you write it, your words will be broken into different contexts and I can’t even comment on what extent it will happen. So, it is very unfortunate that we don’t have a platform where we can say anything,” said Irrfan.

Urwa Hocane made her film debut with Na Maloom Afraad and impressed us instantly. She is signing films back to back, with 4 of her films gearing for 2017 release, the actress has now signed another mega project.

Urwa took to Twitter to share the news:

The Cast Reveals Everything You Need To Know About Mehrunisa V Lub U

After the success of Yasir Nawaz’s ‘Wrong No.’, he’s back with his second film project, ‘Mehrunnisa V Lub You’.

Starring the hunk of Pakistani industry Danish Taimoor and the beautiful drama actress Sana Javed making a debut in the film, we are sure this will be a comical journey, as evident from Nawaz’s previous drama productions and film.

The Cast Reveals Everything You Need To Know About Mehrunisa V Lub U

Speaking to Instep, the cast and crew of the film shed light on the project. The film was shot over a span of 45 days and the teaser looked aesthetically pleasing. There will be four songs in the film, one of which is being called a ‘celebration song’ by the producers. However, according to Danish Taimoor, the true strength of the film lies in the message it delivers.

“For me, it’s all about content,” shared Javed when asked what factors she takes into consideration when signing a film. “And of course, the director’s vision,” Taimoor added.

“The film isn’t very preachy though,” explained Javed to which Taimoor added: “You know how Rajkumar Hirani’s films are? 3 idiots, Munnabhai M.B.B.S and PK were all fun, entertaining films but they all had an underlying message or theme. MVLU attempts to do the same. We will try to convey an important message to our audience in a loving and fun way.”

The crew shared the details about the most expensive set ever in Pakistan, “We recreated a very busy junction of Karachi for the film and that set cost us roughly Rs. 20 million to create. We made our own road and gave attention to every detail. You won’t be able to tell that it’s a set when you see it in the film,” shared Shariq.

When asked if there was a need to create a set so grand? “It’s not easy to shoot in public locations in Pakistan as it is very difficult to control the crowd. It’s also very difficult to control the amount of information that gets leaked to people prior to the release of the film. A closed set ensures privacy as well as a greater level of control over all aspects of the film,” explained Shariq. The film was shot completely in Pakistan and the songs have been shot in the northern areas of the country. “For us, the set was an absolute necessity; it wasn’t an extravagance just for the sake of it.”

Sana Javed was seen adorning saris in the freezing temperature, “The temperature was minus 8 and I was afraid I might get frostbite,” laughed Javed.

When asked was she stressed out during the shooting of that sequence? “It took us total of 12 days to complete the shooting of two songs and yes, I tried every possible trick to keep myself warm during it. I would drink tea and coffee but none of that works when you’re wearing a sari in the snow.”

The Cast Reveals Everything You Need To Know About Mehrunisa V Lub U

When asked if she wore the heels as well? “No, thank God! I was always wearing a very comfortable pair of boots underneath.”

Because of these Yash Raj film inspired sequences, it’s only natural to draw comparisons between MVLU and Bollywood films. “These comparisons have to stop. Pakistani films were being made like this many years ago as well. We used to have item numbers and make films in the same manner. Our conflicts are the same; our style of storytelling is the same. Of course our films will look similar. And even if they look similar then what’s the problem? Bollywood does well in Pakistan. People run to the cinemas to watch Indian films. So if our films look the same then that just goes to show that we’re making films that the audience wants to see. We can try making earthy, artsy films but right now the market is small. We have to create films that can feed revenue to all the screens in Pakistan right now,” exclaimed Taimoor.

Ali Zafar’s Brother Danyal Zafar To Make His Bollywood Debut Soon

It seems that the ban on Pakistani artists has been lifted since artists from both sides of the border are collaborating for various projects. Earlier, we reported that Madiha Imam is making her Bollywood debut with Dear Maya and now there’s another artist all geared up to leave the mark across the border.

The movie will also launch five other newcomers, including foreigners and an actress from North East India.

Titlee Episode 17 Review – Time For Some Character Development

After watching this episode, I realized what the main strength of this play is; it isn’t the script and direction but the main reason why an otherwise simple script looks appealing on screen is that all the actors have done a commendable job of translating their characters on screen. Because of this reason, I never had any problem connecting to these characters and what they went through. Even though Ahmed’s parents can be a little too compromising at times but the actors playing these roles have enacted their characters in such a brilliant manner that they are always convincing. The newest addition to the show Emad Irfani unfortunately is not a remarkable actor, he fits into specific roles and does not always deliver. After watching the preview of the previous episode, I was certain that Emad Irfani was the perfect choice for playing this role but after watching this episode, I am very disappointed with his performance. Although his character isn’t demanding at all but even then he failed to make me connect to his character. If he was slightly more charming apart from being good looking, it would have been far more convincing.

Another reason why I feel they need to wrap things up is because some of the scenes and scenarios are becoming repetitive like Ahmed’s family going out of their way to please their bahu and Ahmed falling for every little lie his wife tells him. In the previous episode Ahmed’s state of mind was definitely more believable than in this episode. It looked like Ahmed could finally see through Naila but the preview of the next episode in particular shows he might fall for another lie and give Naila the money she is going to ask for. Also, there was a time, not very long ago when I felt like Naila was naive and she should be forgiven if in the end she realizes her mistake but now after he latest ‘adventure’ it would be very wrong if she is forgiven and she gets away with everything.

When Naila and Rehan had an accident, I was glad that this particular track will not be dragged and this would finally be the time when Naila will learn her lesson but Naila has not changed at all in all these years. I absolutely love the way Hania Amir has translated this character on screen and also the fact that she did not add extra glamour to her role although it could have been added conveniently but she has also been carrying the same bag right from the time she got married. Someone like Naila would most certainly not stick to one bag for 10 or so years therefore although this is something nominal but it does get noticed.

I thoroughly enjoyed 16 episodes of Naila’s manipulation and Ahmed’s sharafat but even I want to see some much-needed character development now. The charm of the characters and the story will be completely lost if this continues for another couple of episodes. It was quite obvious that Rehan was after Naila’s money therefore one can only hope that this will prove to be the final twist in the story! I would hate to see Naila getting away with all this which is quite possible considering how forgiving her in laws are!

Nazr e Bad Episode 31 & 32 Review – Ridiculously Boring!

Ohkay so, these two episodes of Nazr e Bad were ridiculously boring & served no purpose at all. I miss the time when I used to praise this drama so much because I actually felt that the team deserved it for such a perfect portrayal but after that, everything has gone wrong & it is so obvious that they are just making the most of the ratings that they are getting. I really don’t get what they are achieving by adding such twists & turns which actually do not affect the story in any positive way, like I believe if they wanted to drag & stretch the drama, they could’ve done that as well by showing Parvez’s downfall too, exactly how they showed him succeeding in the first half of the drama, but even that doesn’t seem to be happening because all of a sudden, the writer has developed this sympathy with this character that he doesn’t feel like punishing him!

Well, just because Maham is bored & has nothing to do except wandering around her house, she wants a baby. I don’t remember cringing so hard during any conversation in this drama than this but then again I was like she is demanding a baby from a magician so he will make it happen in a jiffy & that’s exactly what happened, the news of the baby was signed sealed & delivered the next day. Ohkay fine, if she wants a happy & ‘complete’ married life that is not an issue but what bothered me the most is that Maham even after finding out that Parvez doesn’t work for Yazdani’s anymore, didn’t say anything even though she wanted to. In the beginning they showed us Maham as someone who believed in transparency, so what has happened now? Also, thanks to her Amman Nusrat who said that a husband doesn’t like if his wife pokes her nose in his professional matters, lol, seriously what century is this? Also chalo, if Maham was shown as an uneducated girl, it would’ve made sense but she is not only educated, she even once wanted to do a job to support herself & now again she is back to zero, with no brains, no backbone & probably no aim in life!

So Parvez got a big project where he has to rescue the building. In these two episodes, I even found the scenes to be so long & never-ending as if they were just trying to reach the 40 minute mark by hook or by crook. Every other conversation, every other scene was unnecessarily long & seemed unedited, like Parvez’s meeting with his new boss, his magic rituals & even the scenes of every single family member, everything was stretched beyond limit. Also, I am not sure why all of a sudden, the characters who looked like humans have been replaced with the characters who seem like caricatures, are they seriously trying to throw in some comedy or are trying to make things light-hearted by showing such characters where they assume that people are going to laugh at them? The boss was another failed attempt of that.

So, since they were too tired to think about adding new characters & creating new scenarios, they brought back Abeera & even Aftab. Aftab didn’t get much coverage but Abeera is another sick attempt of dragging the drama. I just can’t emphasize enough on how much I ‘hated’, yes, I don’t usually use this word but I ‘hated’ when they played a soft melodic music at the background when Abeera BHABHI was shamelessly making advances at Ahmer DEVAR. I don’t think this track needed to be rekindled & even after they have done it, it doesn’t seem to be serving any purpose at all except beghaiarti. I just can’t stand Ahmer as well, Abeera is another case but I can’t stand how weak & stupid Ahmer becomes every time Abeera nagin hisses at him, it’s like he gets hypnotized & can’t seem to think straight. It won’t be a surprise if Ahmer will ask Nusrat’s permission to get married to Abeera, because that will guarantee them a couple of episodes more, so yay for them!

Shazia & her Parvez-nama, seriously I am sick of this character too. I just hate the way the writer has turned all these ladies into desperadoes & mindless bimbos & the have shown Parvez as the only sane & the best character in this entire lot of mad people. What a beautiful message the writer has given through this drama, where he is elaborating more on the cliché which is ‘larkon ko sab maaf hai’, be it magic or murder! So, Shazia doesn’t get tired by mentioning it again & again that she can go to any extreme for Parvez, oh well, someone throw her out of my TV please!

These two episodes of Nazr e Bad were boring & unimpressive. It is so obvious that they are not going to end this drama anytime soon & even if we will get an ending, it will be a ridiculous one because the damage has been done & I don’t expect any sanity from the team of Nazr e Bad anymore. The preview suggested that Maham will lose her baby & I am sure they will use this as an eye-opener for Parvez where he will vow to leave magic & everything behind & will start afresh with Maham, getting a happy ending, huh! What a waste of time! Anyways, please share your thoughts about these two ridiculous episodes of Nazr e Bad!

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Comedian Umer Sharif Is In Hospital, Family Says Illness Is Minor

Comedian Omer Sharif was rumoured to be severe ill as a picture of him in a hospital bed went viral on social media. Many social media pages reported that he’s severely unwell.

However, Images got in touch with Sharif’s family, “He has a minor chest infection, that is all. Thankfully, he is recovering well and should be home in a day or two,” his sister shared with Images.

“I’d like to request people to not exaggerate news. Also, it is criminal that nurses or doctors in hospitals are able to take photographs of their patients and make them viral. Hospital administration should make an effort to check this unethical behaviour,” she said.

Ahmed Ali Akbar Is Returning To Big Screen

Ahmed Ali Akbar is one of the few actors who won a huge fan following in a short span of time. He has appeared in numerous dramas including Mera Yaar Mila De, Phir Wohi Muhabbat and Guzarish. After appearing in Ho Mann Jahan and Karachi Se Lahore, he is now all set to star in Parchi opposite Hareem Farooq. “I’ve known Imran for quite a while now and he spoke to me about the film sometime last year when they were developing the story,” he told Instep. “He then approached me when the concept was materialized. I went through the script and I really enjoyed it. I thought there was room for every character. I took a few months to make up my mind since I had to say no to a few other films and then I went ahead with it.”

“It doesn’t really matter anymore. The script and character are more important. I feel it’s just so much fun to carry a film with a bunch of talented actors instead of being the solo lead. Also, I’m going to bank on a trustworthy filmmaker and look at other aspects as well like promotion and what would be better for my career. I don’t want to be selfish and put in a catalyst because I want to take my time and do good projects.”

“The producers were looking for somebody with a lot of energy, who could get into the character’s skin and make it real and relatable. It’s actually a very plain character and I’ve incorporated a lot of facets in it. It was a very important role on paper but I couldn’t see a fourth dimension to it, which after having discussed with my director, I added myself,” he noted. “It’s very subtle; I didn’t want to over-play the character like I did in Karachi Se Lahore so the situations are comical instead. I also love Azfar’s take on the script, it’s very fresh.”

“I was hesitant looking at a few recent releases. It’s a very ruthless and unforgiving industry, one bad move and you’re labeled that way,” he shared. “Janaan, for instance, proved that a film doesn’t rely on star power, but a powerful script. We need to ease our public into different genres sensibly and that’s where I see Imran having a very genuine approach to storytelling. All in all, I’m glad that Parchi landed in my lap.”

“Television pays the bills but it can get very hectic. Also it doesn’t offer me the kind of stories I’d like to do,” he observed. “If it were up to me, I’d only stick to theatre and film because they’re more concentrated and focused on the plot. Every line exists because of a reason.”

The shooting of Parchi kicked off earlier this month. It is produced by Hareem Farooq along with Imran Kazmi and directed by Azfar Jaffri.
