Ohkay so, I enjoyed watching this episode of Tere Mere Beech & that is only because of Hareem & Fahad’s relation & their conversations. I like the way things are being taken forward but honestly speaking, I hate the coverage Nighat’s character is getting because she is seriously a victim of self-pity & I do not sympathize with her at all.
Finally, Hareem found out about Fahad but Fahad not only knows how to sweet-talk but he also knows how to convince Hareem to such an extent where she doesn’t grow suspicious of him. Fahad has a lot of confidence in himself because where his friend Tariq became concerned for him, Fahad was calm & collected as he knows that Hareem is gullible & loves him so much that she will easily believe in him. Hareem threw some tantrums but chose to accept what Fahad said because she really wants to believe in her husband even if it means that she has to live in a denial. I feel the writer did a commendable job in writing down the conversations between Hareem & Fahad because it showed how eager Hareem was to run away from her family & how she literally begged Fahad but he chose to overlook all of her requests as he had a bigger picture in mind & right now, his planning means everything to him.
Nighat & Zahida were concerned for Hareem but just because Fahad assured them that everything was good, Zahida felt at ease & left. I am sure the things she told Qadeer about Fahad would spark his interest in Fahad of some sort because he will try to benefit himself using Fahad’s wealth too. Little does Qadeer know that Fahad is more interested in getting a chunk of his wealth which he thinks belongs to Hareem. I really think the interaction between Fahad & Qadeer will be interesting & will contribute to the story as well. Qadeer’s invitation to Fahad is the opportunity that he was waiting for. I really think Fahad will be over the moon when he will find out that Qadeer invited him to the village.
Honestly speaking, I actually get ticked off when I see Nighat crying & when she tries to show that she cares a lot about Hareem. She loves self-pitying that is why she ends up making it all about herself where everyone then forgets about Hareem & starts worrying about her. I think Nighat doesn’t realize that she looks absurd when she shows her concern for Hareem because if she would’ve been actually concerned, she wouldn’t have gotten her married to Fahad without a background check. Also, I really don’t understand the obsession Nadia has with Hareem. As if Nadia wasn’t enough that now they have introduced Ali & Asad who only keep on talking about Hareem too as if they don’t have any other topic to discuss. Nadia’s concern can be understood as she is Hareem’s sister but the guys really need some activity in their lives.
Eventually, Hareem ended up finding everything about Fahad with the help of Ali. I really liked how she requested Fahad to come clean & tell her everything because she loves him & would do everything to stand by him but Fahad couldn’t muster up the courage to tell her the truth. Fahad is actually underestimating the love Hareem has for him because she even lied to her mother to support Fahad just so that her mother doesn’t suspect that something was wrong at their end, but sadly, Fahad couldn’t see how much effort Hareem was putting in to prove how much she loves him & to prove that nothing will change what she feels for him, provided he tells her everything honestly. In the end when Hareem found out that Fahad was only lying to her, that’s when she lost her calm & gave him a piece of her mind because she thought he needed to know that his lies were only hurting her. I really feel bad for Hareem!!!
Overall, it was an interesting episode but the preview made me cringe because Nighat is going to get a lot more coverage too. Even though I like watching this drama, I disagree with the writer in the aspect where she is trying to portray Hareem as a culprit & someone who is fending for her mistakes because that is genuinely not the case with her. Hareem chose to get married to Fahad because she never got the love she wanted, so just when someone came & spoke to her nicely, she thought he would give her the love & comfort she has yearned for all her life. If there’s someone who’s responsible for the way Hareem has become, it is Nighat. Anyways, I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed watching Agha Ali’s acting in this episode. The way he showed hesitance in his body language, the way he stammered to portray that Fahad was trying to come up with some valid statements to defend himself in front of Hareem & in the end the way he showed distress over Hareem’s screaming was a treat in its own. He acted brilliantly & he has done complete justice to the character of a guy like Fahad who is mean & conniving. Sanam Chaudhry once again gave a flawless performance where she screamed to the limit just to convey how hurt she is & also in an attempt to get to know the reality from her husband. I must say both Sanam Chaudhry & Agha Ali did really well together & their timing was spot on, which is why I enjoyed their scenes the most. Can’t wait to see what more’s in store for Hareem. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Tere Mere Beech.
Ohkay so, this episode of Aabro was comparatively better because they took the story forward & showed us more about what’s going through the characters minds. I kind of like the fact that they are keeping things in such a zone where they want you to feel bad for Aabro & also they are showing that she is responsible for what she is going through. I feel they have resorted to realistic portrayal of such a scenario which is great.
Ali was already having a hard time & Aabro added more to his problems. Where Aabro should’ve been worried about the basics, she started having thoughts about the luxuries at this point of time that Ali didn’t bring her the things she dreamt of. Ali tried his best to get the job but he couldn’t & all these difficulties took a toll on him & he ended up getting sick. I think Aabro did the right thing by contacting Abid because she knew only he could help them in the hour of need.
For a change, it was good to see a young girl knocking some sense into her empty-headed mother. Fauzia’s younger sister tried to show the other side of the picture to Shahida that may be because of Zubaida, Abid must’ve agreed to this marriage. On her daughter’s advice, Shahida chose to speak to Abid & got a response she was waiting for. I found it absurd that even though Abid clearly told Shahida that only because of his mother he agreed to get married to Fauzia, she took it as a positive response & got ahead with the Nikkah. Why couldn’t she read between the lines that Abid’s heart wasn’t into this marriage & he was only following his mother’s orders? Abid & Fauzia had their Nikkah & Abid decided to give this relation the chance & attention it needed. I found it amusing that just a single phone call from Abid brought a smile to Fauzia’s face. Like seriously, her character is the least impressive character in this lot of ordinary characters, also when I see her sitting on her bed, I always wonder if she ever does something else too apart from sitting on her bed & crying over her luck?
So, Abid finally convinced his parents that Ali should be allowed to come back because he wasn’t well. Zubaida agreed but Zafar chose not to budge at all. Ali & Aabro came back & surprisingly, things were comparatively easy & smooth for Ali than they were for Aabro. Ali’s mother decided to forgive her son after a single conversation with him, where he still held her responsible for the things he did, yet she chose to overlook what he said because deep inside she was happy that he was back. Even though Zubaida detests Aabro, but still she thought it was her duty to put restrictions on her, which started off with the first ever restriction of visiting her mother, which I found completely unreasonable. Everyone in her family is blaming Aabro for eloping but why aren’t they counting the fact that Ali eloped with her too? So if Aabro is guilty then so is Ali as well!
Yes, Ali’s family members have a reason to hate Aabro but the way they didn’t think about feeding her spoke a lot about the sort of the people they are too. Ali wasn’t even bothered about Aabro & couldn’t care less whether his wife ate something or not. Yes, things were difficult for both Ali & Aabro but finally, Ali has come back to his comfort zone, his home, so now he should pay a little extra attention on Aabro so that she accepts his family & brings herself to change for all of them, but I am certain that Ali will never put much thought into it as he has already grown out of this relationship & a part of him blames Aabro for everything, whereas he should understand that he is equally guilty too & just like him, Aabro is going through a tough time as well. Ali really isn’t the ideal man because he clearly has issues when it comes to rational thinking. He isn’t a man of substance who’d stand with the decisions he made. Yes, the writer is trying to highlight Aabro as the culprit but I must say, Ali ain’t a saint himself & he wasn’t a toddler also who grabbed Aabro’s finger & followed the path she took him at. The writer is trying to show that Aabro is wrong but in my opinion, Ali is equally wrong too & to some extent he is worse than his wife because at least she is sticking to her decision & has completely given up on every other relation in her life but Ali is finding it hard to maintain a balance between his wife & mother, which is a sign of a weak man!
The whole scene where Ali’s sister misbehaved with Aabro for getting some tea for herself & the things that the guest said about Aabro was quite forced. They could’ve easily showed what others think about her some other way too because this seemed totally out of the line. Also, the way Shahida & Fauzia reacted upon hearing about Ali & Aabro’s arrival was weird too. Does Shahida really think that Fauzia is so dear & important to Zubaida that for her sake she will forsake her son Ali? Yes, Ali hurt Fauzia & Zubaida in a moment of anger did speak against him but it is wrong of Shahida to believe that Zubaida will give priority to Fauzia over Ali. I am glad that Abid is putting things in perspective & he is trying his level best to tackle both the families properly. He is acting like a binding force & he believes in making things right in stead of being stuck in a past & not doing anything to overcome those situations. Abid has to be the best character in this lot I must say. Honestly speaking, I found it funny that now Fauzia started speaking Abid’s words in front of her mother. She overreacted when she heard her mother talk against Ali & then she easily got convinced when Abid assured her he won’t let her feel uncomfortable at any step of the way. I seriously don’t understand the hype & the importance Fauzia’s character is getting because as far as I believe, she looks absolutely mindless & directionless to me. Fauzia’s only motive in life was to get married & where she was crying buckets over Ali, it took her a split second to hand over her heart to Ali’s brother Abid & that too at such a level where she is now advocating his thoughts too. I really think her character is getting way more attention that it deserves & it infuriates me because this girl/woman has no mind & no thought process of her own too! Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Aabro.
Osman Khalid Butt can conveniently be termed as the jack of all. He started his career at a very early age when he realized that he was born to be an artist and not an engineer. Maya Ali is another actress who has worked with the best directors and producers. Osman Khalid Butt and Maya Ali were invited as guests on HSY’s talk show on Hum Sitaray. The interview as a whole was more of a delightful conversation between friends than anything else. Osman Khalid Butt revealed that it was not easy being a school boy because he was skinny and white which was not easily accepted by other boys in the school. He also talked about how his career started and the difference the influence and support of his siblings has made in his life.
Everyone knows that he is a very gifted actor, director and writer but no one knows that he can dance very well too. That is why he is called the ‘Mehndi Man’ among friends. Not only this he also choreographs dances. Osman Khalid Butt said,
“Before acting, before anything else, it was dance.”
HSY also talked about the amazing chemistry between Osman Khalid Butt and Maya Ali which recently made the drama serial Diyar-e-Dil a huge success. They are jointly known as Osmaya by fans. Osman also shared,
“Maya is so fussy about food. She creates havoc on the set if her food is late. She says that she will not continue with the shooting because her food did not arrive on time.”
Maya Ali also revealed what kind of a girl she was in college life. She said,
“I was very sporty, I used to play all kind of games although my father was against it.”
Maya Ali also gave a message for the reviewers and critics who kept on saying that she could not act. She said,
“Acting is so difficult, you have to sometimes wear summer fabric in winters and winter fabric in summers. You are on the set for hours so don’t pass your judgments so conveniently after watching a 1 hour episode.”
She also said,
“I always wanted to be an actor. The first time I saw OKB on the set I wasn’t impressed by him at all. He was wearing so much Kajol and looking odd. I love to take selfies. I take so many pictures only then am I satisfied by one.”
Maya Ali complained over and over again that she was tired of reading online that she was an over actor. Osman Also said,
“I always respond to people who criticize me online. I want them to know that if they are a smart ass then so am I.”
Everyone wants to know if Maya Ali and Osman Khalid Butt are more than just friends in real life. Replying to that question Osman Khalid Butt made it very clear that Maya Ali was not his fiancé.
Finally!! Rana did what needed to be done. All that talking in the previous so many episodes and very little action had been putting the viewers to sleep for the longest time now therefore it was good to see Rana making up her mind and leaving Adeel. Had all this happened few episodes back it would have been far better but better late than never!! Although in this episode too just like all the other episodes of Gul-e-Rana practically everything was spelled out for the viewers which minimized the overall effect of the recent developments but just watching Rana walk out of that house without Adeel getting in the way was actually ‘refreshing’!! Rana’s last conversation with Adeel before she left was also very well written for a change and had an impact because it was followed by practical steps by her to get out of that situation. It was not an easy choice for Rana since there was a lot of pressure on her for making this marriage work from her mother and Taya in particular but she managed to take a very difficult step and for the first time I enjoyed watching an episode of this drama.
Adeel’s double standards were more evident than ever before in this episode. Rana is not allowed to talk to her cousin on the phone but Adeel can spend as much time with his cousin as he wants while his wife is in the house. Adeel’s decision to pressurize Rana further by threatening her that he might get married to Maria was actually a step that worked in favour of Rana. It has given her a solid reason to walk out of this marriage and it also helped her to muster up the courage to walk out of this relationship. One aspect of Adeel’s personality that has been highlighted over and over again is that he is far more interested in saving face than anything else. His reaction after Rana left yet again proved that he will do anything to keep his ‘reputation’. Maria and her mother however couldn’t care less about what anyone thinks about them as long as they get what they want. Sundas Tariq is beyond impressive as the girl with absolutely no self-respect! She has been playing her role with perfection right from the start. Although her character is desperate and annoying at times but her acting never falters.
For the first time the scene between Asher and his father was emotional. The dead aba gave us one memorable scene before dying! The viewers definitely deserved that! The only thing about this episode which did not make sense was that Rana’s mother was out of the picture. She was shown in Asher’s house in the last scene which means she must be busy with the wedding but still there is no reason why she never found out that Rana was in Karachi. Just like all the other episodes she would be the last one to know and she will probably be the only one who won’t be willing to understand her daughter’s situation.
I must say that for the first time I am looking forward to the next episode of Gul-e-Rana. The preview of the next episode can be summed up in this one line – Adeel has met his match!! Adeel is very fond of playing games and winning them but in the next episode he will be in a situation in which it would be impossible for him to keep his reputation or the image he has worked so hard to maintain especially in front of his father. I just hope that Rana does not come to his rescue because he does not deserve to be rescued just yet! Waiting to see Maria beat Adeel at his own game! I am not a fan of Maria’s character but I am sure everyone will agree with me when I say that every man like him should meet a girl like her at least once in his life who would teach him a lesson!
Overall, it was a very gratifying episode because of the recent developments. I however know better than to raise my expectations since Rana is quite capable of doing something which will be completely different from what we watched her do in tonight’s episode. 15 episodes of this play have gone on air so far and we can conveniently expect 10 more episodes. This drama can end decently if it is wrapped up in 3 episodes in which we see Adeel regretting every single time he exploited a girl, he changes for good, asks Rana for forgiveness and she accepts him whole-heartedly. There might be people out there who think that Adeel does not deserve to be forgiven and they are more than welcome to share their thoughts. Personally I feel that if Adeel genuinely asks for forgiveness he should be forgiven because Rana and Adeel are still young, their life together has only started and they could have a chance to live a happy life together by putting the past behind them!

The popularity of Urdu cinema gradually declined in 1980’s and in late 1980’s Shabnum and Robin Ghosh went back to Dhaka, Bangladesh. In mid 1990’s Urdu cinema enjoyed a mini revival for few years and Shabnum and Robin Ghosh returned to Lahore, Pakistan. This time Robin Ghosh composed the songs of the movies Jo Darr Gaya Woh Mar Gaya (1995), Ghoonghat (1996) and Nikah (1998). Again the magic of Robin Ghosh is heard in the songs like Zindagi Mein Mujh Ko Itna Pyar Mil Gaya (Shabnam Majeed) and Tu He Dil Ki Dharkan (Ghulam Abbas). In late 1990’s Shabnam and Robin Ghosh permanently returned to Dhaka, Bangladesh. The visited Pakistan in 2012 on an official visit. During his career spawning over three decades Robin Ghosh won many Nigar Awards for the music of the films Aaina and Bandish.

The distinction of Robin Ghosh was his sweet and melodious tunes in light notes. The impact of Bengali music was evident in his music. As a musician he never composed any loud tune, all of his tunes were melodious and light. He mostly utilized the voices of Mehdi Hassan, Mehnaz, Nayyara Noor, A. Nayyer, Shabnam Majeed, Fariha Parvez, Ghulam Abbas. Another distinction of Robin Ghosh was he never used the voice of the legendary singer Madam Noor Jehan. He is perhaps the only musician of past era who rose to fame without ever working with Madam Noor Jehan.
Indeed With Robin Ghosh an era of filmi music of Urdu cinema has ended.
The relationship between a father and a child is unique in its own way. Father is considered a mentor, the protector and someone who will always give his child unconditional support and love. A person can get very famous and have all the riches in the world but he will always need parents to make him feel special. Parents are like the roots of an individual and without them people are lost no matter what they attain in life. Our celebrities also value their parents because just like any other human being their parents made them the people they are today. Some of the very famous celebrities lost their fathers when they were very young but they keep on posting pictures of their fathers. Faysal Qureshi and Agha Ali are two such celebrities.
Here are some pictures of celebrities with their fathers. They are seen spending precious moments with their fathers which make these photographs even more memorable.
Shahid Afridi’s daughters are no less than celebrities. They are there to support their father whenever they can. In the latest Pakistan Super League match too Shahid Afridi’s daughter were seen giving interviews and they were busy posing with their star dad. While giving an interview Ajwa and Ayesha revealed that they were supporting Shoaib Malik. They said all of them were Pakistani players so it was difficult to choose.
Shahid Afridi however made it clear that in their hearts everyone was rooting for their own teams even if they were not saying it!
Here are some really cute and memorable pictures of Shahid Afridi with his daughters in the PSL match.
Hamayun Saeed’s comeback play Dil Lagi will be airing on ARY Digital very soon. The script of the drama has been written by the very talented Faiza Iftikhar and it has been directed by the same person who was behind the super hit film Jawani Phir Nahi Aani. Nadeem Baig’s direction and a script which Hamayun Saeed thought was perfect for making a comeback are the two major reasons why Hamayun Saeed decided to choose this project to make his comeback after not being seen on the television screen for four years.
Hamayun Saeed said in an interview that he thought that Dil Lagi was Faiza Iftikhar’s best work till date. Mehwish Hayat plays the leading role in the film alongside Hamayun Saeed. She is also very excited to be working with the JPNA team again. Six Sigma Plus is producing the play.

Kapoor and Sons is Fawad Khan upcoming Bollywood film, the trailer of which was launched recently. The trailer got a good response from many people. The film looks like a whole package and like all of Karan Johar’s films it look like it will be full of emotional sequences which will entice the viewers even more. The fantastic thing about the film for Fawad Khan’s fans is that just like his first Bollywood film Khoobsurat in this film also Fawad Khan plays a major role in the story. His character is seen having fun, showing anger and even getting a kiss from the heroine Alia Bhatt.
Talking on the trailer launch Alia Bhatt said,
“Everybody has always seen his work, his serials out there and all so I was honestly really looking forward to working with him as an actor. We generally had a lot of fun while we were shooting.”
The press conference at the trailer launch was candid and fun. Fawad Khan also showed his humorous side while talking to the journalists. All the leading actors wore matching outfits at the launch. The color of Alia Bhatt and Fawad Khan’s outfit was identical.
Urwa Hocane and Farhan Saeed are one of the cutest real life couples of our drama industry who recently won a lot of hearts as the reel life couple in drama serial Ajnabi. Urwa and Farhan haven’t announced a date for their wedding yet but they are always together on all the functions and they love spending time with each other. These two love birds were seen having a terrific time on one of their Indian friends wedding. Urwa wore a pink ghagra choli on one of the main events which was designed by the very famous designer Zainab Chottani. Farhan Saeed wore an outfit which was designed by another well known designer Hamayun Alamgir. Both of them had a great time at the wedding, something which is evident from all these pictures. Urwa called this friend whose name is Akshay Devina her brother and Farhan Saeed also referred to him in the same way in his instagram posts.
Famous Urdu writer and playwright Fatima Fatima Surayya Bajia passed away on Wednesday in Karachi after prolonged illness.
Fatima Surayya Bajia has written many popular dramas for television for the state run Pakistan Television (PTV) from late 1960’s to 1990’s. Her last famous drama was Uroosa aired in 1992 from the PTV Karachi center.
Her plays are known for their exquisite style and a reflection of the valus and tradition of Muslim families in India. Agahi, Shama, Afshan, Uroosa, Babar are her famous television dramas.
Fatima Surayya Bajia was born in 1930 in the princely state of Hyderabad Deccan, British India and was the eldest among her nine other siblings. Her father served at key position with the ruler of the Hyderabad Deccan known as Nizam of Hyderabad. However the family migrated to Pakistan after 1947 when India forcefully invaded and occupied the Hyderabad state.
After the independence of India and Pakistan in 1947 from British, the state of Hyderabad was given the option to join either India or Pakistan, however Nizam of Hyderabad wants to make Hyderabad Deccan an independent entity and thus he prolonged his decision to join either India or Pakistan. Though the ruler of Hyderabad, the Nizam was a muslim the majority of the state was Hindu who want to join India. In September 1948, Indian army following the instructions of its first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru attacked Hyderabad Deccan under the code name of Operation Polo. Indian army committed many atrocities towards the Hyderabad population especially the muslim population and as per official estimates nearly 40,000 civilians were killed by this barbaric act of the Indian army, whereas unofficial figures put the estimate between 1,00,000 to 2,00,000. But like with all the rest of the events of atrocities towards muslims in India, no one is ever trialed or questioned for the these killings.
After Operation Polo, to escape the brutality and atrocities of the Indian army many muslim families from Hyderabad migrated to Pakistan. Most of these families settled in Karachi and to this day Karachi has descendants of the migrants from Hyderabad Deccan.
Bajia’s younger siblings are also famous in their fields like Sara Naqvi, Zubaida Tariq, Zohra Nigah, Sughra Kazmi, Anwar Maqsood and Ahmed Maqsood Hameedi.
A Big Bang Entertainment production, Mera Yaar Miladay’s first episode aired this Monday on ARY Digital. I had mixed feelings when I saw the poster online and realized Sajal Ali is the female lead. Not a big fan of hers and seriously baffled over the raves of her being an amazing actress. Khair, I decided to give her a ‘chance’ because I will admit I do think Faisal Qureshi is a fine actor.
The episode begins with Master Sahab (Firdous Jamal) addressing a class full of students and lecturing how whatever one does in life should not reflect badly on one’s parents, etc. We then see that Mushq (Sajal Ali) – what’s with the name by the way, haven’t heard of that one before – has run away from home, leaving a note which is found by her sister. Mushq is being forced to marry her father’s friend’s son and she refuses to be bullied into a marriage with someone she doesn’t love and apparently has run off to be with the one she does love – Fahd.
We are then introduced to Fahd (Ahmed Ali). Mushq has informed him of her plans and he seems to be panicking as to what he should be doing now. I wasn’t very thrilled with Ahmed Ali’s look to be honest. The longish moustache – eek. I do wonder over the emphasis on speaking in Punjabi when talking to his friends and later to his mother..maybe to establish that he lives in another city (Lahore I believe) whereas Mushq lives in Karachi. Through a couple of flashbacks, we see how Fahd and Mushq met at a mehndi (very filmy with the bumping into each other then Fahd watching Mushq when she is dancing and then giving her his number).
Anyhow, Mushq’s sister shows her father the letter and he reaches the railway station and manages to find a very excited and happy Mushq waiting for her train to take her to her beloved Fahd. He brings her back home and locks her into her room despite protests from a very concerned Dado (Ayesha Khan Sr.). Mushq comes across (so far) as a defiant character and feels she is absolutely justified in running away. When Fahd rings on her mobile phone, her dad answers and tells him to never call again or he will be responsible for her ‘maut’! Sigh.
What happens next does boggle the mind. Fahd will go to Karachi! Yep, alone! To bring back Bhabhi he tells his friends. And announces to his mother – who is a widow and has raised him all on her own and has no other relative to call her own – that he has found a job in Karachi and is leaving. He tries to console her by saying he will return soon but how can he just leave her? Or why not tell her the real story? Take her along to ask for Mushq’s rishta? What exactly does he think he is going to accomplish by showing up at Mushq’s doorstep?
Well, our hero reaches Karachi and comes upon a young man being robbed by two men. And what does Fahd do? Runs down the street to jump into their midst and oh, the robbers had guns by the way. So, not only do they snatch the other guy’s mobile phone they take Fahd’s phone too and ride off. The glitch – Mushq’s home address is saved on Fahd’s phone. And Mushq’s phone her father promptly threw and broke after his conversation with Fahd. So now he doesn’t have an address or any way of contacting her by phone. Somehow, I don’t think either of them are familiar with emails.
Faisal Qureshi only makes an entry in the last scene as Daboo bhai (Daboo? Really?) – someone who is the dada of the mohalla.
I hadn’t watched the OST before I viewed the first episode for had I watched that before and read some of the comments that were posted on this website I probably wouldn’t have watched the episode as it would seem to be another drama where Sajal Ali is abused and pushed around. But from what I could gather, and I may be wrong, but the being thrown into a room and crying etc is when her father finds her at the train station and brings her home. The thapar hasn’t come yet and I do hope it is only a one off, although we could have done without it because yes we get it, her dad is not thrilled with her ishq for Fahd and she insists she can not be without him.
I have rarely watched a Sajal Ali drama till the very end – I end up ditching them midway. I do wonder if this may be any different. The fact that it is being aired on Mondays at 8pm doesn’t bother me with regards to it competing with Mann Mayal for viewership. I am rarely able to watch a drama at that time as I am normally putting my kids to bed. I either record and watch later or just watch online. I do hope half the drama doesn’t pass with Fahd ‘bhatkofying’ here and there in his search for Mushq – without a home address or phone to reach her at. Yes, it does seem filmy but I think I will give it a few more episodes to see how I feel about the drama.
Phew! That turned out to be quite a long review – and my first, so please be kind when (and if) you comment. Did many of you watch this episode? What did you think?
Veena Malik and her husband Asad Khattak have been giving interviews on many shows in which they have openly talked about how they met and got married. For the first time in Jago Pakistan Jago Veena Malik shared what was it that convinced her to marry a man she hardly knew. Veena and Asad got married 9 days after they met for the first time. Veena Malik said,
“Most of our meetings with each other were in front of family members. We didn’t really meet alone. I always had a lot of faith in Allah, on my fate. The thing I liked about him the most was that he is very kind-hearted. What I loved about him was his honesty and the transparency in his nature.”
Asad said that the things he loved about Veena were,
“She is very straight forward. She is very loyal.”
Noor asked them who was more dominating. Asad Bashir said that both were dominating but Veena Malik said,
“He is very bossy and dominating.”
Talking about the big change in her personality and her life after getting married, Veena Malik said,
“Inside, I was always the person I am today. For me my family was always very important. Sometimes you get distracted and go off-track.”
Veena Malik also did many parodies because she is known as parody queen. Noor gave her a few names like Meera, Reema and others. Veena Malik’s son was also present while the interview was being conducted because Noor went to Veena’s house to interview her.
Ohkay so, this episode of Mana Ka Gharana was quite slow. It was more like a calm after the storm, but the initial few minutes were hard to watch due to over flow of the tears, which kind of ticked me off. I am not sure how the story is going to go ahead but things really really need to speed up in order to keep our interest alive in the show.
Khizer was thrown out of the house & only Maalik & Zarri sympathized with him. Zarri told Maalik to take care of Khizer & show some support because he needed it the most. It was good to see that Maalik immediately understood that it was something that Shehryaar transpired as he had full confidence in Khizer that he’d never do such kind a thing. Khizer later found out that his bakery was targeted too & it was that moment where he realized the level of hatred Shehryaar feels for him.
I found it quite odd that after such a fiasco, the very next morning, Ghalib was enjoying a breakfast with the rest of the family whereas being the head (if he is) he should’ve been worried sick about where Khizer went & how he was doing. Shehryaar continued to put Khizer & the whole family down & no one seemed to mind it at all. I felt that Maalik was absent in a lot such scenes because he is usually a part of such conversations most of the times but this time around, he was no where to be seen. I think either Maalik or Zarri should’ve stepped up & had defended Khizer by giving Shehryaar a much needed shut up call. Ghalib did say that he doesn’t believe Khizer would do such a thing but it was till the moment he heard Saleha’s voice & he switched the dumb-mode on!
Zarri knows what Khizer was going through but she couldn’t say much as she knows that Saleha is like a mad woman on the loose so no one can mess with her as she is capable of biting someone as well if things go against her. Ghalib found out about Khizer’s bakery & just because Saleha told him off, he scurried to his room to cry over Khizer’s misery. I hate to see that a man of his stature is being shunned by his wife so easily & is left speechless every single time.
There was this new entrant called Laila. Her car broke & Khizer helped her. Seems like she has come to Murree for the first time but I find it weird that in stead of exploring the place, she chose to help Khizer with his maintenance work. I hope she brings a good change in Khizer’s life but I do have a feeling that once Khizer will see Mana in trouble, he will leave everything & in the end he will end up marrying Mana but after the mistrust Mana has shown in Khizer, I so don’t want to see them together. Mana is better off with such a conceited person who constantly puts her down & taunts her for not seeing a car like his car or a ring that he gave or a world outside this small town because she has no self-respect so she shouldn’t & wouldn’t mind.
I am glad that at least Khizer took a stand for himself & gave Shehryaar a piece of his mind. Shehryaar is a coward who can talk the talk because the moment Khizer intimidated him, Shehryaar had nothing to say in his defense & he just walked away. Khizer has accepted his defeat already because he knows that if he will try to expose Shehryaar, first thing first, no one will believe him & secondly, it will shatter Mana emotionally, that’s why he has backed out & is waiting for karma to take its course, which I partially think is right too because right now, Mana & Saleha are blinded by Shehryaar & as Saleha says, Shehryaar is her aakhri sahara, so let them rely on him & wait till he throws them on the floor too!
Once again, the level of talking Gul Bahar did & the way she wasn’t snubbed is something that I can’t fathom. What gives her the right to speak so much & what allows her to think that she is in charge of the situation? I so wish Maalik tells her to leave ASAP so that we don’t get to see her spewing venom anymore because her negativity is contagious. Oh well, the note at which the episode ended showed that Mana got a little uncomfortable with the idea of Laila being candid with Khizer. I think this is the time when her jealousy will kick in & she will truly understand what Khizer means to her. I so hope she leaves Khizer alone & stays happy in a bubble with her self-centered & self-absorbed fiance who can afford a ring worth of 3 lacs for her as her level of happiness is limited to materialism only. I really think they need to move the story forward because it is getting a bit burdensome to watch it from the last couple of episodes. What do you guys think? Please share your thoughts about this episode of Mana Ka Gharana.
Mera Yaar Mila Dey is a new ARY Digital play airing on Mondays at 8PM. It is produced by Big Bang Entertainment and directed by Anjum Shehzad. The drama stars Faisal Qureshi, Sajal Ali and Ahmed Ali in lead roles.
The story opened up on a rather dramatic note with Mushq (Sajal Ali) running away from home while simultaneously her Abba (Firdous Jamal) is seen lecturing his students at school to always uphold their parent’s honor. Mushq’s sister, Zeyba, finds a note that Mushq left detailing that she does not accept her father’s friend’s sons proposal and can only marry Fahad (Ahmed Ali). She says she has gone to get her share of happiness in this world by marrying who she chooses. Sadly for her, Zeyba immediately alerts Abba and he shows up at the Karachi train station to bring Mushq home. What follows are pretty typical dialogues of “mein tumhari tangein tour donga” etc and poor Mushq is locked up in her room and her phone is broken by her father in a fit of anger. Within the first 15 minutes of the drama, Mushq is already crying up a storm imprisoned in her room and is starving herself as a protest for her love. Mushq tells her Dado she will die without Fahad. Her Abba blames her Dado for not doing her “tarbiyyat” properly and then shockingly states that knowledge has made him weak since at least jahalat gives people the power to bury their daughters alive upon birth. Meanwhile, Abba’s friend has found out about Mushq’s “harkat” (how he did is never shown) and he cancels the rishta. Abba mourns over how “Mushq jeet gai”.
Meanwhile, in Lahore, Fahad finds out that Mushq has been caught when he calls her phone and Mushq’s Abba picks up. You may be wondering how Mushq and Fahad met since Mushq lives in Karachi and Fahad in Lahore. A flashback sequence shown while Mushq is crying in her room reveals that she met Fahad while she was at a wedding in Lahore and they exchanged phone numbers and have been talking ever since. Fahad lives with his Amma in Lahore and has no siblings and no father. His mother only speaks Punjabi so it was difficult for me to understand some of her dialogues. Fahad has not told his mother about Mushq at all and when his friends ask him why not, he says “tumhein pata hay wo kesi hain” hinting that she is probably a possessive mother. Fahad decides he will go to Karachi himself to save Mushq from her father. He lies to his mother that he has found a job in Karachi and prepares to leave. His mother cries over him leaving and says she will be all alone without him. Fahad arrives in Karachi and while he is walking down the street, he notices a teenage boy being robbed at gunpoint. Strangely, he decides to intervene and in the process his phone is robbed as well. Mushq’s address and number were saved on his phone so now he is lost in Karachi with no way to contact her. The teenager tells him that “dabu bhai” can help him. The last scene showed Dabu Bhai’s (Faisal Qureishi) dramatic entry.
The episode was well paced and the story moved forward rapidly however it was filled with very clichéd and over dramatic dialogues (tang tourna, uss ke baghair mar jana) and the first episode itself established Sajal as a bichari and Firdous Jamal as a tyrant father. In terms of acting, Sajal Ali was excellent as always and Ahmed Ali was convincing enough. The two only had one scene together – the scene where they first met – so viewers were unable to see the connection that their characters shared. By starting the drama at the point where Mushq was already running away for Fahad, all the backstory was skipped and their love was not shown, rather it was told to the viewers and viewers were expected to believe in it and root for them. Furthermore, Fahad didn’t seem to be as in love with Mushq as she is with him since he did not have the himmat to tell his mother about their love whereas Mushq was ready to burn all the bridges connecting her to her family for his sake. Instead of rooting for Mushq, I felt that she had made a bad decision by starting a telephone affair with a guy she met once.
Faisal Qureshi was only present in the last minute of this episode so it is too early to say anything about his character. The actress for Zeyba is a newcomer. While she impressed in Tum Mere Paas Raho, her expressions in this episode came off as mopey. It was tiring to see Firdous Jamal play such a cruel father. In terms of direction, the scenes did not drag and a variety of sets were used in the episode. The Badshahi masjid was visible in the background when Fahad was talking to his friends and it added a nice touch to the scene. The lighting at times was odd. There were quite a few scenes where sunlight was directly glaring into the screen and characters faces were not visible due to the glare. Overall, the episode moved at a good pace and the show has a star cast however due to its clichéd script it failed to impress or show anything novel to viewers.
Babar Khan got married to Bisma Khan in a quiet ceremony because of the circumstances surrounding their marriage. Babar Khan’s first wife Sana Khan died in a tragic car accident only few months after their marriage. Babar has never talked about the accident because he cannot to bear to talk about it.
The good news is that Babar Khan and Bisma Khan have been blessed with a baby boy. The couple is very happy but they have not shared a picture of their baby yet. We wish them and their child all the best for the future.
Fawad Khan’s next Bollywood’s film’s trailer is finally out. The trailer shows in detail what the story is all about. It is about family and fear, brotherhood and betrayal. Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan play the role of brothers who it seems fall in love with the same girl which creates problems between them. It looks like Fawad Khan has a very important character to play in the story, one which is just as important as that of Sidharth Malhotra. The trailer is jam-packed with powerful scenes which show a family struggling through tough times.
There were quite a few new developments in tonight’s episode which made it interesting unlike many of the previous episodes. The fact that the focus has shifted from Hira to all the other characters is also another reason why this drama is definitely much better than it was when the focus was on Hira’s marriage and her problems. Shehryar’s character gave the viewers reasons to doubt his intentions. While there is absolutely no doubt that he wants the best for his daughter but it also seems like once he has her divorced he might marry her off to someone he wants her to marry. Also, he hasn’t really been shown doing anything that would ensure that Sadaf is out of the prison soon. He went to the lawyer with Hira for her divorce papers but he never went to anyone to solve Sadaf’s case. His reaction when Nuzhat asked her if Sadaf will come and stay in the same house also suggested that he was not really willing to talk about what will happen once Sadaf is out of the prison perhaps because he has no intentions of getting her out of there.
I must say that watching Waseem struggle was definitely something I had been waiting for. He is someone who was always been looked after really well by his wife, he never had to bother worrying about food or his health but now that he is all alone and he has to look after himself he will realize that he needed Sadaf in his life more than she needed him or perhaps just as much as she needed him. He always took Sadaf and Hira’s concern and love for him for granted because he thought he didn’t need love but he will gradually realize that no one can live alone.
The sudden change in Nuzhat’s attitude was another development which the viewers predicted a long time back. Nuzhat went from ‘aap’ to ‘tum’ in no time when she knew that this was the right time to create a misunderstanding between Sehr and her husband. The way she talked to Shehryar was quite flirtatious which showed what her intentions were. Although Sehr is making another huge mistake but I hold her phupo more responsible for putting her in that situation. She is married and she really should know better but I also feel that she is very young and all the unnecessary advices from her phupo do not help her in any way. Sehr’s meeting with her ex-boyfriend was another important development in tonight’s episode. Her phupo pushed her to mend fences with him and later on went behind her back and told her husband, something which goes to show that Nuzhat only looks out for her own interests.
Sadaf’s time in the prison was covered flawlessly. Until the last episode we saw her having a rather peaceful time in the prison but in this episode what the viewers were shown was a true depiction of the environment within a prison. A woman like Sadaf is a completely misfit in such a place and it seems highly unlikely that she will be out of there any time soon.
Overall, this was an interesting episode which made me look forward to more for a change. I am waiting to find out how Shehryar will react in the next episode and whether or not he will take Hira to meet her mother. I am also waiting to see when Sehr will realize that Nuzhat is not her well wisher. Apart from Saboor Ali, everyone has given flawless performances in this drama. Saboor Ali’s dialogue delivery is not the least bit impressive and Hira is my least favorite character in the play.

The Bachaana team was invited in the Morning Show “Ek Nayee Subha”. Sanam Saeed and Mohib Mirza are playing the leading roles in the film. Talking about the film Sanam Saeed said,
“Bachaana is a short film, it is a feel good film, upbeat, no one will get bored watching it. Dialogues are really good, it is quick, fast paced. It has great repeat value, you can watch it from any where at all and you will enjoy it.”
Sanam Saeed said that the best aspect of working in this film was that the team consisted of a few people and they were very efficient so everything was wrapped up quickly. She also said,
“The most important part of my character is that it is fun and bubbly. Viewers usually see me playing serious roles in dramas so they will enjoy this change. I am playing the role of an Indian girl.”
Talking about her real life personality Sanam Saeed said,
“I don’t talk a lot but I am not a very serious person. I am positive unlike many of the negative and angry characters I have played in dramas.”
Adeel Hashmi jokingly said,
“Because this film had so much glamour and so much fitness so they thought they should balance it out with someone unfit and not glamorous so I was chosen for that job.”
Mohib Mirza plays the role of a Pakistan Taxi driver in Mauritius who helps Sanam Saeed find her way back home.
While shooting for the film Adeel Hashmi said that he almost drowned in the sea.
Adnan Siddiqui is one of those many celebrities who are taking an active part in the Pakistan Super League. When someone like him who has worked with the best teams praises something like this it means that it really was a huge success.
Adnan Siddiqui posted a special status update in which he shared his feelings about the event. Here is what he said.
He also posted some memorable pictures from the event. Most of these pictures are selfies taken with friends who are also representing the same team as him in the PSL. Bakhtawar Bhutto can also be seen cheering for Karachi alongside Adnan Siddiqui.
Ohkay so, this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi was comparatively slow but still a lot such things happened that took the story forward. I really am impressed with the way this drama has been directed because no matter what, they haven’t stopped making the progress in the story which keeps the interest alive in the show.
Shagufta told Suleri what she wanted him to do & how she wanted him to help her, that is why Suleri came up with a plan of giving Shams a false hope so that he doesn’t follow his own plan of entering into politics. I think Shagufta doesn’t understand & she doesn’t even realize how much dependent she is on Suleri. Suleri isn’t just her mentor anymore, he has become someone who she shares her problems with because she feels he matches her mental wavelength & helps her the best way possible. It was only Shams’s case where Suleri held back but other than that, no matter what it is, Suleri always has stood by Shagufta’s side because deep down he knows that she is all alone & has no one to rely on. Shagufta clearly told Suleri what she wanted when it came to Zareena & Shams, that is why Suleri made sure Shams doesn’t go back to Mushtaq. Suleri really is a pure politician in literal sense of the word because he knows how to play with people’s minds. Suleri is someone who never got involved with someone emotionally as for him everyone was a pawn that he used but when it comes to Shagufta, he’s a totally different person. I definitely don’t want to see anything more in Shagufta & Suleri’s track but it is good to know that Shagufta has a support system because her own husband is just a liability & nothing else.
Zareena was sent away & Shams had no problem with it but before that, she left quite an impact on Noori because she felt bad for Zareena. The way Shams took his hands off goes to show how gullible he is & how he doesn’t have a mind of his own. Mushtaq told him to take Zareena with him because she could get him some votes, so Shams not only brought her to Lahore but made a statement in front of Shagufta by holding her hand too. Now when Shams got a hope from Suleri that he will try to help him get back on his feet, he deemed no problem in ignoring Zareena. I am not sure what to think of Shams’s character anymore because now it’s a done deal that Shams loves being a puppet & he trusts everyone quite easily which is purely his own fault!
I found it sweet that Roomi took Noori to Ilyas’s home. Roomi knows they are related to Noori so he just wanted Noori to know what her family is like. Noori was welcomed cordially & it was so good to see Ilyas treating her so nicely. The way Ilyas gave her some money & told her that she referred to him as her Uncle took me back to that scene where Ilyas gave some money to Shagufta’s friends because they referred to him as Bhai. Ilyas hasn’t changed & so hasn’t his mother. The love she has for Shagufta is still so strong that she still hasn’t accepted Maryam as Ilyas’s wife. I found it a bit unfair that Maryam has to face the brunt because the love Chachi feels for Shagufta hasn’t faded at all. Even though the meeting was short but Noori left quite an impact on Chachi as she reminded her of Shagufta. It was good to see that Chachi could feel an attraction for Noori because of her emotional attachment for her mother.
Roomi loves Noori & he knows that she loves him too. I find it really nice that despite knowing what a complicated background she comes from, Roomi is only interested in Noori & fell in love with who she is. Roomi’s conversation with his father gave him the confidence he needed & it was a clear cut approval from him as well. Roomi & Noori’s relation will go through a rough patch now that Shagufta has found out about it. I found it amusing that just because of Shams, Shagufta was falling short of her parenting skills as Shams is creating a havoc in her life & he is behaving more like a kid that needs extra attention & pampering. Shagufta was shaken that just because of her negligence, Noori got a freehand to do whatever she deemed fit. Shagufta may now understand that ever since Shams has come back into their lives, he has added more problems for her to face. It is so obvious that just because Shagufta was busy taking care of her husband, her attention from Noori got diverted that is why she was taking it out on the servants whereas she knows she’s guilty of neglecting her child.
Shams & Shagufta already are on a rocky track & Shagufta is finding hard to keep Shams happy as he is getting crankier as the days are passing by. Shams has grown insecure because of his uselessness & that is taking a toll on Shagufta. Shams has put her down enough already for her to understand that he doesn’t love her, in fact he never really loved her but Shagufta still is unable to see that. The preview also suggested that Shagufta & Shams will continue to have a difference of opinion but this time around the reason would be Noori’s marriage. Shagufta should know that when she could go out of the way to marry Shams, than Noori can as well. May be Shagufta wants what’s best for Noori as she knows that her love marriage turned out to be a nightmare for her, even though Shagufta may not admit it but deep down, she would never want Noori to have the kind of life she had, that is why she thinks getting married her daughter to a well-settled guy would be a better option. I am interested to see how Roomi & Noori will fight it out but I do have a feeling that Noori & Roomi will elope because Shagufta has yet to face the scenario that Mushtaq predicted about her daughter being the major reason of Shagufta’s embarrassment. Can’t wait to see what happens next. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi!
Noor Khan is the latest sensation of Pakistani television. She is liked for her looks and talents. Noor has grabbed some truly good projects. She is also Sara Khan’s sister but unlike Sara Khan Noor always wanted to act. Talking to Mag Weekly she said,
“I am doing all this for fame. I have always wanted to become famous and always knew that I was going to be an actor some day.”
Noor Khan revealed that she was never good at studies but that was never a cause of concern for her because she always wanted to be an actor. Noor is very blunt about what she feels, she does not believe in hiding her feelings. Talking about her acting career which has just started she said,
“My first day on the sets wasn’t anything like I expected; everyone was talking in their own technical language that I could not comprehend so there was a lot of confusion. I also didn’t like the director because he didn’t really make us work much.”
Noor also revealed what she hates about acting the most. According to Noor,
“I get so angry when I have to hold someone’s hand or act like I am in love with them!”
So how does it feel like to have an older sister who is very famous in the industry? Noor said,
“I am so lucky to have Sara. I rely on her completely for advice; she tells me about how a team really is and suggests which projects to choose. Of course, when people know I’m related to her, they become cautious and treat me with respect, so that is the best perk.”
Noor said that she does not like it when people compare them in any way because that is very insensitive.
“Sometimes people can be a bit insensitive too. They often compare us and even come out with nasty things like one is prettier or more talented than the other.”
Noor is also very particular about what she wants to do in dramas and which are the things which she will never do. She revealed,
“I once signed a project and they later told me that there would be a scene where my character will be sexually assaulted. Even though it was to be shot appropriately, I still backed out. That is just not what I want to do.”
Noor Khan is very excited about her upcoming project which is directed by the very talented Anjum Shehzad and stars actors like Ahsan Khan and Naveen Waqar.
Nowadays films are what most television actors are venturing into. Every actor wants to be seen on the big screen and there are even some who have completely left television because they want to make a career in films. All the actors agree that it is every actors dream to make a name for themselves in the film industry.
Ahsan Khan has played the hero in many dramas and now he is all set to make his debut in films. This debut will be with Neelam Muneer playing the lead in the film. This is also going to be Neelam Muneer’s first film. Not only this it will also be the first project for Mohsin Ali in the seat of the director. Mohsin Ali has done screen writing for the film Wrong No. but this is the first time he will be directing a film. Talking about the music of his upcoming film Mohsin Ali said,
“I’m in talks with a lot of musicians right now, trying to tie down the music for the movie. I don’t want filmi music; I want it to be very retro.”
The film is titled “Chuppan Chuppai”. It boasts of a star cast with names like Talat Hussain, Adnan Jaffer, Faizan Khawaja and Rehan Sheikh playing supporting roles in the film. The film is being produced by Huzu Productions. According to the news “Chuppan Chuppai” will be a comical thriller.
Ahsan Khan also revealed that he read 3 different scripts before committing to this project. He said,
“I read three different scripts before coming across and committing to Chupan Chupai. I enjoyed reading the script so much that i was sure I’d enjoy making the movie.”
Azfar Rehman came on a Morning for the first time after his accident. He talked about his future plans which include films. Azfar said that right now he was shooting for two films and won’t mind crossing the border if his character in the project offered to him is a strong one. It doesn’t matter to Azfar whether that character is for 5 minutes or 50 minutes so long as it has a presence in the script.
Azfar also revealed that he enjoyed working with Ayesha Omer and Mehwish Hayat the most. He said that working with these two actors was a great deal of fun. Azfar Rehman is known for his blunt and humorous nature. When he was shown a picture of Danish Taimoor and he was asked to comment on it. He said,
“I think he is a flirt. A hero should be a flirt. Being a flirt means you talk to everyone in a romantic way.”
Azfar also shared what he thought about Sahir Lodhi without any restraint. He said,
“I think he is fake. I have met him many times and his own personal style is fantastic. The style he has on television is fake. When there is so much resemblance with someone in your body language and the way you talk then it can’t be real.”
Azfar Rehman said that Mehwish Hayat was “the hottest woman in Pakistan.” Azfar Rehman was all praise for Waqar Zaka and Sheheryar Munawar. Talking about Veena he said,
“Veena is a very daring woman. She has always worked against the odds but she has never been fearful.”
He also said that he would give all the compliments in the world to Ayesha Omar because she was so innocent.
I must say that after watching over dramatic love stories in the recent past like Mera Naam Yousuf Hai and Sadqay Tumhare I expected a little bit more from tonight’s episode. All through tonight’s episode I couldn’t help but look forward to what was going to happen next but at the same time I felt once again that the drama banked a little too much on direction and the script had absolutely nothing grand to offer. I will however give credit to the writer for giving us some wonderful on screen parents who are definitely not run-of-the-mill but other than that this drama needed a few more strong supporting characters to make it look like something more than just another love story. This episode had some beautifully shot scenes to its credit like every other episode of Mann Mayal, the last scene had to be my favorite. It went to show how difficult it was for both Mannu and Salahuddin to let go of each other but both of them eventually would have to do that because of entirely different reasons. Maya Ali and Hamza Ali Abbasi’s brilliant performances have also given this otherwise typical love story the edge it needed to stand out in the crowd.
There is a saying, “there is always some madness in love” and this episode was all about that madness. Mannu’s desperation was portrayed brilliantly but I thought it was slightly comical the way all those women were running after Mannu although it was not meant to be funny. I absolutely loved the way Mannu’s impatience was shown after Bia told her that Salahuddin had talked to his parents. Mannu’s optimism turned into the biggest disappointment of her life when Salahuddin did not open his door for her. In the end it was not the phupo or Mannu’s father who separated them but it was Salahuddin’s decision to let Mannu go because he thought she deserved better. He is someone who has always been shown as a very practical person. He tried to buy himself some time by telling Mannu that he was going to Karachi but everything changed when Mannu’s parents found out what was going on between them.
Mannu’s father’s reaction was totally in line with his character. Even with all the opposition he was willing to marry Mannu to Salahuddin but later on when Salahuddin’s parents could not muster up the courage to ask him for Mannu’s hand in marriage he knew that they will never open the door for her. It was a wise decision by a father who would have found it impossible to hurt his daughter by refusing to give her what she loves and a friend who could not say no to his best friend who was like a brother to him.
It was refreshing to see that this whole episode did not focus on “yeh shadi nahi ho sakti” scenario but gradually it was shown why ultimately Salahuddin will be the one who will back out of this relationship. Hamza Ali Abbasi has a very expressive face and he is an expert at giving the right expressions in every single scene. There were many scenes in tonight’s episode which required an actor like him to do justice to those scenes and he did just that. I must say that I am very impressed by Aiman Khan’s performance in the show, every single dialogue is delivered with perfection and her body language was flawless in every scene.
Lately in our dramas we have been watching the women take the lead when it comes to making sure that they get the love of their life therefore watching Mannu do all that she did for the love of her life wasn’t very novel. Maya Ali has put her heart and soul into this character and it shows. I must say though that if things gets too serious from here on then I am going to miss the bubbly side of Mannu a lot since Maya Ali nailed all of those scenes in the first two episodes. All the actors playing supporting roles deserve a special mention for their brilliant performance which make this drama picture perfect as far as performances are concerned but since the characters are plain and simple therefore while some of them are likeable others don’t really get noticed in the crowd. We kept on hearing over and over again in this episode and in the last one too just how rich Mannu’s family was yet Mannu and her cousin were seen sleeping on the roof top. I am not sure if it is a norm in small cities to sleep on roof tops but I suppose people who can afford air conditioning would sleep indoors.
This episode ended on an emotional note and the preview of the next episode showed that we will see more of Gohar Rasheed’s character in the next episode. I must say that I am looking forward to that since he is another actor who always manages to bring out the best in his characters.

Ohkay so, this episode of Tere Mere Beech was kind of a filler episode but the coverage to Hareem & Fahad’s relation was nicely given. Other than that, the conversations were unnecessarily stretched & all of them were only about Fahad’s residence, which made things a tad bit boring.
So finally, Hareem & Fahad have gotten married. Both Zahida & Nighat had absolutely no confidence in Fahad. I still feel Zahida’s concern was genuine because she actually loves Hareem & her life revolves around her but Nighat’s concern was actually a version of the guilt she was feeling because she knows she didn’t do much to protect Hareem & also because she wanted to save Nadia from further worries, so in literal sense she got rid of Hareem. It was so obvious that Nighat was just trying to put up an act that she really is worried for Hareem whereas she was only looking for some sort of validation that would put her to ease that she did a right thing & she didn’t do anything wrong with Hareem for Nadia’s sake.
It was good to see that Hareem was happy with Fahad. Fahad was saying everything that a newly wedded girl wants to hear. He actually went out of the way for Hareem but sadly it was because he thinks he is investing in his own future by doing all of that & for Hareem, this is exactly what she wanted. She wanted someone who’d adore her & love her the way she is so now when Fahad was making her feel special, she was on cloud 9. It is too bad that her happiness was short-lived but I am glad that she didn’t make it easy for Fahad to keep on fooling her. Honestly speaking, I enjoyed watching Hareem & Fahad’s scenes the most & the chemistry between both the actors was great too.
The whole focus of each & every family member starting from Nighat to Ali on Fahad’s house was quite odd because usually such things are discussed & probed about before finalizing the marriage. So now all of a sudden the concern that Ali, Nighat, Nadia etc started showing regarding Fahad’s whereabouts was odd & made them look a bit too nosey because this wasn’t the right time & by asking such questions, they were only making Hareem & Fahad uncomfortable. If they were so concerned, they should have inquired about Fahad in detail before he got married to Hareem.
I am so glad that Nighat didn’t get much screen time, however there was a single scene where she once again tried to justify herself & went on a self-pity spree. Nighat once again tried to make Hareem look bad by explaining that she was just asking a general question about Fahad’s home from her. I so hope the focus shifts on Hareem & they show us how she is dealing with the whole situation on her own because if Nighat gets to have a say in this, she will only try to put Hareem down by taunting her for choosing Fahad while completely ignoring what others said.
I think it was quite convincing that Hareem tried to find out a little about Fahad as she suspected something. Even the sudden change in Fahad’s attitude was too obvious but he succeeded in covering himself by sweet-talking Hareem every single time but now that Hareem got to speak to the employee of Tariq Zaman, I am sure she won’t sit still & find out everything about Fahad as she already was quite curious about his family, so now she has even more reasons to do some investigation. Honestly speaking, I do feel bad for Hareem because she deserves happiness in her life but the luck is tough on her & the main reason is Nighat, not Hareem or anyone else. I must say Sanam Chaudhry looked absolutely gorgeous as a bride & even in the scenes that showed her as a newly wed. She really has done full justice to this character & I think she is the main reason why I am watching this show. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Tere Mere Beech.
Ohkay so, this episode was comparatively better because the sufferings & the situations that they have shown were portrayed realistically. I think a little realistic approach in telling this otherwise typical story is the only saving grace of this drama & makes it tolerable to watch.
It has completely dawned on Ali that he can not do much in a new city because it is not easy to run a house & take care of the expenses on his own without his family’s support just like that. Ali has started to understand that his decision of getting married to Aabro wasn’t right. Even though he may still love Aabro but now he can see the things from a different perspective where he can understand that this selfish decision of pleasing himself & Aabro made a lot of people angry & left them heart broken.
Aabro on the other hand misses her mother too but she fails to understand the gravity of the situation & change herself. Ali is still putting up with Aabro because the love that he has for her hasn’t faded as yet but if Aabro keeps this up where she will insult him, Ali will seriously grow out of this relationship pretty soon. I am glad that they showed it properly that both Ali & Aabro aren’t at ease. Where Ali is dealing with a lot of issues on his own, Aabro is feeling a little uncomfortable too, but I still feel she is sticking to her decision & hasn’t started regretting it yet unlike Ali. I so wish she had spoken to her mother nicely & should’ve been a bit patient because she should know that her mother is entitled to give her a piece of her mind for the things that she has done.
Finally, Aabro made sense & after hovering around from one place to another she realized that both she & Ali are better off at his parent’s home, that is why, she was the first one to bring this subject up & suggested Ali that they both should go back to Ali’s parent’s home. Ali shared his feelings with Abid & it showed that he succumbed to the pressures a bit too quickly. Ali has always lived in a bubble & going by how his parents pampered him, it showed that he isn’t used to such tough circumstances, that is why, Ali thought it was a good idea to share his problems with Abid because he knows Abid despite being younger will be able to support him & he will find a solution to his problems too.
I don’t know how Ali’s parents & Fauzia’s mother sleep at night after playing with the feelings of their kids just so easily. Zafar blamed Zubaida for everything that Ali did as he understood that Ali never wanted to get married to Fauzia, so how can the same person suggest the exact same thing for his younger son? The reason why this family is so obsessed with Fauzia is beyond me!!!
Once again, even though Shahida tried to ask Fauzia’s opinion, she thought before saying anything, she should initiate the conversation with some sort of emotional blackmailing by reminding her of the relations both the families share. I don’t know why Fauzia’s family is treating Zubaida’s family as the only family on the face of the Earth that is capable of having Fauzia as their daughter-in-law. If it’s not Ali, then what’s the point of getting her married to Ali’s younger brother despite knowing that Fauzia is not thrilled by this whole idea & she doesn’t want to get married to Abid in the first place. I am sure all these elders will do as they please & then easily put a blame on Aabro in stead for all the problems their families will face because of Abid & Fauzia. They are surely going to use Aabro as a scapegoat & conveniently ignore the fact that all this is happening because of their wrong decision making.
Overall this episode was ohkay & the preview didn’t seem promising at all. I so am not looking forward to see how Fauzia shatters the glass vase at the news of Ali & Aabro’s return. I still don’t get that when Ali & Aabro’s mention is stirring such serious reactions in Fauzia’s family, then how are they comfortable with the idea of Fauzia getting married into the same family that too now when Ali & Aabro are going to live in the same house as her? Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Aabro.
Sanam Teri Kasam is being termed as a ” rusty and a little-too-stretched love story” by some of the Indian critics while others think it is a ” a manual of how Not to make a contemporary romantic film.” While the film is getting different kinds of feedback from critics, all of them are appreciating the performance of the actors who played the lead in the film. Indian Express, which is a leading Indian newspaper recognized Mawra’s acting skills in the following way,
” But the fresh-faced, unaffected Hocane rises above it all, and shows us how effervescence can light up the screen. Someone give her another movie, quick.”
IBN live also posted,
” The newcomers have definitely done a great job and it’s only because of the two actors that you might survive the 155-minutes-long running time.”
Here is what Bollywood Hangama had to say about Mawra’s performance In The film,
” Harshvardhan Rane puts up an above average act (his miniscule struggles with a couple of scenes notwithstanding). On the other hand, Mawra Hocane shines and excels in the film with her extremely believable and superlative performance. There are places where she overtakes Harshvardhan in terms of performance. It won’t be wrong to term her as a ‘scene stealer’. Given the right choice of films, she just could be the find of Bollywood this year.”
According to the Indian Express the film earned 1.5 crores on the box office on the first day.
A lot of celebrities also showed up to show their support for Mawra Hocane’s Bollywood debut in the premier which was held in Karachi. Mawra Hocane was also present on the occasion. Here are some pictures from the premier.
Every episode of Gul-e-Rana has few things in common – one of the men is always seen complaining about tea, Gul-e-Rana gets lost and is dropped home by a stranger, a fight over Asher Bhai and last but not the least the lack of creativity in the script! Nothing new happened in this episode, it was exactly like the last one except for the sad news the doctor gave Asher’s father in the end. After watching all these episodes I have failed to understand why Asher is getting so much screen time and attention. Now, the viewers are not only supposed to feel for Rana but Asher Bhai too!
Gul-e-Rana continued to find solace in discovering her surroundings and spending time with the helpers. Her sister and mother acted as if she had moved to Mars!! Rana kept on reminding herself that she did not need to make any kind of a compromise or sacrifice for someone who did not value people who loved her, The clash of egos continued just like every other episode, there has been absolutely no change in Rana’s relationship with Adeel. Rana is constantly looking for distractions and Adeel wants to do everything he can make sure that Rana does not stay distracted for long. Maria has completely forgotten the fact that Adeel is married and she has absolutely no problem sitting and waiting for his relationship with Rana to end. Laila is completely out of the picture.
Right from day one this drama was over-crowded with characters. Ever since the first episode the writer and the director have completely failed to give a balanced screen time to all these characters. It is an art to create characters which the viewers can connect to and it is even more difficult to make sure that these characters are involved in the story some way or the other right till the end! Most of these characters were always annoying but even then since they were introduced as if they were an integral part of the story, they shouldn’t have been relegated in the background like they never existed.
The production values of the drama are commendable, the locations and cinematography is spot on, Sajjal looks very cute but the script lacks creativity and depth. The happenings in every episode are highly repetitive. The lead characters have failed to make an impact and Asher and his family’s track seems forced to say the least. The ‘bond’ between Asher and Rana is supposed to be really special – like that of a brother and sister – but the expressions of the actor playing Asher’s role literally put you to sleep and Rana’s obsession with him appears to be more of a zid than anything else. I have not been able to warm up to any of the characters or their relationships with each other. Taya Abu’s character was the only one in this play which was slightly impressive but the fact that he doesn’t have a bigger role to play in the story makes his character ineffective.
The preview of the next episode showed that things will only get worse from here. Rana is willing to gift wrap her husband in some insults and is gladly willing to hand him over to Maria – bravo! Asher’s family gets the news of an accident *yawn*. I have no idea what the writer of this play was thinking while penning down this script or perhaps she wasn’t thinking at all! The focus is on the locations and the cinematography and no one invested much time or thinking while penning down the script.

Saeed Anwar started following the path of Islam strictly few years back and since then he has also been giving lectures on Islam. In this particular clip he is seen talking about good deeds and their co relation with faith as a whole. While talking about this Saeed Anwar makes direct references to Imran Khan and he has nothing good to say about him.
Other than saying that he has very little sense, he also said that someone who cannot control his own wife how can he think that he can run an entire country! He also said that Imran Khan thinks that he will go to Jannat because he has made a hospital. He gave different references to prove that making a hospital is not a ticket to Jannat. Although Saeed Anwar did not take Imran Khan’s name but it is very obvious that he is talking about him because he is the only cricketer who has made hospitals and who got divorced recently.
Saeed Anwar’s statements about Imran Khan are rather shocking because he really did not need to give his example to prove any of his points.
