We’re living in a digital world where nothing is safe. Not even in the confines of our house. And to testify just that, let us give you the example of the actress, Saba Qamar, whose phone might have been hacked.
According to Saba’s manager Meshal Cheema, Saba’s phone might have been hacked as Meshal received calls from Saba’s number with an unknown male on the line. All this happened while Saba had her phone with her.
According to Meshal’s Instagram story, she “received a call Saba’s number asking me if I am Mishi and the person was an anonymous young man.”
Meshal then added that the man said that he had found the phone at a park where Saba jogs, and upon inquiring how he accessed the phone, he implied that he found it unlocked. “I asked him who and where he is, to which he kept asking if this is Saba’s number and when I got mad, he cut the phone,” she wrote.
Meshal also added that she straight away called Saba, who was shocked to know someone was using her number to call.
According to Meshal, the suspected foul play could have come through with the video chatting app, Houseparty, that they had been using of late. The app has become very common during the lockdown and a number of cases of misuse and hacking have been reported through that.
Although there was no proof that the app was responsible for the glitch with Saba’s phone, Meshal however, clarified that they had warned and informed people ahead of it, in case something happened.

That is when famous director producer Aslam Azhar saw her and asked if she was interested in acting. Samina Ahmed appeared in a Live TV drama and thought it was an easy feat. She later continued to pursue her education but also sporadically worked in different dramas. She kept her education as her priority but after she completed her M.A, she had become passionate about acting and knew this was all that she ever wanted to do. After that, there was no looking back and now, for almost 5 decades, she has been working consistently.

Her husband Fareed Ahmed wanted the divorce. It was because he was interested in getting married to actress Shamim Ara. Samina Ahmed allowed her husband to make that decision because she knew that he was not going to stay and he was being honest about it. That was not the only challenge that she faced, it came right after when she became a single mother. Samina Ahmed was alone because all of her siblings as well as her mother were settled abroad. She had her grandmother in Pakistan and a few close friends from the fraternity who helped her in dire times. Samina Ahmed feels she couldn’t have done anything without the support her friends extended towards her and she did feel being a single mother was toughest.

After Shamim Ara got married to Fareed Ahmed, in a short span of time she called a press conference and spoke about how she was filing for a divorce from him, citing sterility as a reason. All the claims were untrue because Fareed Ahmed had fathered 2 children in his previous marriage. As unfortunate as it was, Fareed Ahmed’s marriage to Shamim Ara ended too quickly and on a bitter note. It was soon after this incident that Fareed Ahmed passed away in 1993. After her 3rd divorce, Shamim Ara got married to Dabeer ul Hassan who was with her till she passed away in August, 2016. Ohkay so, this was one of the most important episodes of Ye Dil Mera in terms of story & exposing of the truth. Each & every moment of this episode was engaging & gripping. All the reactions were realistically portrayed & some of the scenes were very emotional. The director definitely deserves points for giving all the characters equal treatment & enough screen time so that the viewers could understand what they were going through. It is safe to say that Ye Dil Mera has come to such a stage where every single episode is promising & has so much to offer.
The Shock of Their Lives
Ana decided to find out about some of the secrets that Amaan was keeping from her. Ana knew something was quite wrong & the way Amaan behaved with her, he had to have a solid reason to do so. Ana decided to do her part & what she stumbled upon was something she never in a million years had imagined. Ana saw the pictures of her & Meer Farooq Zaman. Just when Ana was trying to wrap her head around what was happening & why Amaan would do such a thing, she also got to see the wooden plaques commemorating Amaan’s family. That entire scene was done really well, especially when Amaan walked in & lit the candles. This was Amaan’s moment to let it all out & he did. He had to tell Ana that it was Meer Farooq Zaman; her father who had murdered his entire family.
Meer Farooq grew suspicious & knew he could find some clues. Yes, they had to take the story forward now that is why they showed that it didn’t ever occur to Meer Farooq or Ali Baksh to check Sahira’s phone before. It was now when they both grew a little impatient & desperate that they decided to look for answers & what they got to know was shocking for them. Sahira was in touch with Amaan & it didn’t take a second for Ali Baksh to tell Meer Farooq about all that he ever felt or suspected about Amaan. Meer Farooq’s dejected body language was enough to show that even he knew he was in hot waters & no matter what he’ll have to face his fears especially with Ana being in the picture.
Meer Farooq decided to see Amaan & Ana, he thought just like all the people he has intimidated & harmed, Amaan will be the same too but what Meer Farooq witnessed was enough to shake him to the core. Amaan not only threatened him but showed him that he was not afraid of him at all. The confidence & faith that Amaan displayed in himself was what that actually rattled Meer Farooq because this was something that he wasn’t expecting at all. Ana chose to stay back & not go to her father’s place. All the things that Meer Farooq said to Ali Baksh after he came back from Amaan’s place were interesting. It was good to see him scattered & spaced out. It showed that this was the first time Meer Farooq was actually dealing with a situation which he didn’t have control of & this is what was making him nervous. Amaan has stepped on Meer Farooq’s Achilles Heel & even he knew it. Meer Farooq has always done everything to protect Ana & to fabricate such an image of himself in front of her which made her believe that he was the ideal father a girl could dream of. Now when Meer Farooq sensed the danger & knew that Ana was close to finding out the truth about her father, he couldn’t handle it well.
The dejection in Meer Farooq’s demeanor also showed that he was kind of trying to put two & two together & despite not wanting to, was being forced to think about all the people he had wronged all over these years. He was not paying much heed to it but there was a voice at the back of his head telling him that this was finally his undoing, especially now with his daughter being involved.
The entire scenario where Amaan threatened Meer Farooq was executed brilliantly, once again the change of attitude & body language that Amaan displayed was a treat to watch. He was in his element & he knew that this was probably the moment he had waited his entire life, therefore he could not show any nervousness to empower Meer Farooq or allow him into thinking that he stood a chance of defeating Amaan!
Ana’s reaction was justified. She chose to stay but not as Amaan’s wife but as Meer Farooq’s daughter. It was obviously impossible for her to believe any of what she heard from Amaan about her father. All the flashbacks brilliantly showed that Ana was doubting all the things that she ever heard from Amaan. She now knows that Amaan’s only motive in life is to harm Meer Farooq & make him pay for what he has done, therefore she was left with no choice than to believe that all the things Amaan ever said to her were nothing but white lies. This entire equation is also an important development where Amaan knows what he feels for Ana but right now, she is not in the right frame of mind to even give him a chance or believe that he actually loves her. I thought Amaan was going to feel relieved knowing that he was not alone & he will get that assurance after Ana’s decision of staying with her husband but that wasn’t the case. Amaan actually felt heartbroken that Ana was now maintaining a distance from him, although he did tell her that she was innocent & was not responsible for what Meer Farooq has done but he’ll have to move a mountain to make her believe that despite the hatred that he has in his heart for Ana’s father, he has a lot more of love in his heart for her, for his wife.
Very Interesting Episode
This episode of Ye Dil Mera was definitely very interesting. I loved seeing all of their reactions & it was a brilliant judgement on the director’s part where he chose to give them equal coverage. Although Ali Baksh was pretty much in the background but even he got a lot of margin to once again showcase his loyalty towards his boss. All the actors were brilliant in this episode as well but Sajal Aly & Ahad Raza Mir were beyond amazing, especially on the scene where Amaan teased Meer Farooq & faced him with confidence, the sass Ahad displayed was actually amusing & just perfect. At some points Adnan Siddique didn’t seem as convincing but in the few ending sequences, he picked up the right attitude of disbelief & restlessness which was needed to show the shock that Meer Farooq had just endured. Also, I must add, Sajal Aly looked absolutely stunning in the scene where she told her father that she couldn’t go with him, the hairstyle, the makeup & teary eyes made her look very beautiful. The next episode seems interesting but I think the one after this one will be even better. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Ye Dil Mera.

Beautiful Shab-e-Barat Images of 2020 – Shaban is a special month for the Muslims all across the globe. It is in Shaban that the Shab-e-Barat falls. This month is considered sacred by Muslims. Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to fast a lot in this month. Sometimes he used to fast the entire month of Shaban even before Ramazan started.
Shab-e-Barat is the night of forgiveness. Those who are awake and worshipping are forgiven except for the disbeliever, hater, arrogant, someone who is disobedient to parents and alcohol addicts. Shab-e-Barat begins after Maghrib in the evening of mid Shaban.
Ali ibn Abi Talib [May Allah be pleased with him] reports that the Prophet [Peace be upon him] is reported to have said: “The night of mid-Shaban, let all of you spend in prayer and its day in fasting, for Allah descends to the nearest heaven during that night beginning with sunset and says: ‘Is there no one asking sustenance that I may forgive them? Is there no one asking sustenance that I may grant them sustenance? Is there no one under duress that I may relieve them? Is there not such-and-such, is there not such-and-such, a so forth until dawn rises”
Shab-e-Barat is the golden opportunity for Muslims to beg for forgiveness for their sins. They repent for their sins on this blessed night and fast the next day. Also, they can ask for fortunes and health, The Almighty has promised to bless them with the best. All around the world, the mosques are decorated beautifully for this blessed night. Apart from that, some people lit vigils and others gather in mosques to pray together.
The most authentic Hadith about Shab-e-Barat is as follows, ” “When it is the fifteenth night of Shaban observe prayer during the night and observe fast during the day; for Allah descends to the heaven of the world as the sun sets and says: Is there anyone to seek forgiveness so that I should forgive him? Is there anyone to seek sustenance so that I should provide him? Is there anyone in trouble so that I may relieve him? And so on and so forth, until the dawn breaks.” (Ibn Majah)
Some people also visit the graves of the loved ones who are no longer with them. Since Shab-e-Barat is the blessed night when people also ask for forgiveness for those who have left the world. Since the Islamic calendar is determined by the moon, the date of Shab e Barat changes every year.
Fireworks and distributing sweets among neighbors and children is also a common practice on this blessed day. It is also seen as the night when the fortunes of the people for the next year are decided.
These are some of the most beautiful Shab-e-Barat images of 2020.

Pakistani dramas are filled with emotions. It is because they portray the sad realities of life, which forces the actors and performers to convey the emotions in such a manner which does justice to the emotions of sadness and sorrows. Pakistani actors are strong performers and they do what it takes to breathe life into their characters and act in such a way which leaves a long lasting impression. Acting is a skill and a craft which one gets to perfect after years and years of experience in front of the camera. The actor’s job is not only challenging but it is also demanding in terms of improvement. This is the reason why a lot of actors tend to improve themselves after they learn on the field and get to learn from their mistakes after seeing their own dramas.
Crying is one such emotion which the viewers of Pakistani dramas get an overdose of. It is unfortunate that not even a single Pakistani drama is free from crying sessions of the actors. It is justified when the situation calls for it because the reality is being portrayed but there are a lot of actors who tend to go overboard and make their crying scenes intolerable. In other words, crying scenes give the actors a lot of margin to perform and earn appreciation because that is when the viewers get to feel the pain of the character but, even that is an art which needs finesse in itself to establish that connection. As much as some Pakistani actors do justice to any given emotion they are assigned to translate on screen, there are also those who make these scenes hard to watch because of their poor take on crying.
Here is the list of worst criers seen in Pakistani dramas:
Sanam Jung
When the viewers got to know that Sanam Jung was making a comeback that too with Zahid Ahmed, everyone expected fireworks. What they didn’t know or expect was that those fireworks will soon turn out to be deafening for everyone because of the screeching sounds Sanam Jung will be making throughout the drama. In her comeback drama Main Na Janoo, Sanam Jung continued to cry but what’s unfortunate was that even after so many years, she didn’t teach herself to not go overboard. The kind of sounds and voice modulation she opted for while crying in certain scenes was enough to send shivers down one’s spine because it was hard on the ears. The exaggerated attempt of sounding to be in a lot of emotional turmoil and pain was not only intolerable but what sealed the deal was her poor expressions along with irritating voice. We hope that before signing her new project, she watches Mai Na Janoo 10 times to learn all the don’ts of acting!
Alizeh Shah
The new girl in Drama town who is being hired again and again to cry and cry some more; the very beautiful eye candy Alizeh Shah. It is unfortunate that despite being a part of such popular dramas, Alizeh Shah is not doing much to improve or change her acting. She usually takes such roles where she has to cry a lot because a pretty girl is easily digested as a bechari, however, her bechargi costs the viewers their brain cells because of the way she cries. In those emotional scenes especially, her dialogue delivery, minute expression, voice and everything about her goes off-track and makes one laugh instead. Alizeh Shah should definitely get herself enrolled in an acting school especially to master the emotional scenes, since she is into doing a lot of them!
Shaheen Khan
Shaheen Khan has been a part of Pakistani drama industry for years now. She is a mature and experienced actor but all of grace and experience goes out of the window when she starts crying. What’s amusing is that she tends to do a lot of makeup despite the fact that she always takes up such roles where she has to cry constantly, which also turns her characters into a caricature. Crying would be a wrong word here because what she does during those scenes in all her dramas is howling. Shaheen Khan definitely needs to tone down a ton of notches because she has been deafening the drama viewers for years now.
Gul e Rana
Gul e Rana is a versatile actress of Pakistani drama industry. She is not only experienced but is observant enough to give every character the kind of treatment it deserves which shows the grips she has on the roles she is assigned to portray. However, she also qualifies for the list of worst criers because she tends to go overboard, especially the wailing sounds she makes are hard to tolerate which actually forces the viewers to lower the TV volume. The expressions, the sounds, everything about her crying is a drama buff’s biggest pet peeve.
Hira Mani
Pink nose, pink lips, pink cheeks, pink eye crease, pink forehead – in short everything turns pink when Hira Mani cries in her dramas. It is like to add more visual appeal to her emotional scenes, she douses her face in rosy pink tints to make it look like the mountains of sorrows crumbled upon her and resulted in her pink face. The pink face aside, may be because after getting in touch with good and aesthetically sound makeup artists, she learnt to tone the pinkiness down, but the expressions she gives while crying make it hard to relate to her. There are some people who are pretty criers and then there are those who are not and unfortunately, Hira Mani falls in the latter category. A little toning down would suffice and be a huge favor upon the drama viewers, considering Hira Mani lovesss to cry in all of her dramas.
Imran Ashraf
Imran Ashraf is a brilliant actor, there’s no denying to the fact that he breathes life and soul into every character he takes up. However, because Imran Ashraf is so used to giving his 100%, he tends to take his crying scenes a little further where he gives 100 expressions per microsecond, which compels the viewers to resort to the forward button immediately. He even changes his dialogue delivery while crying which actually makes the entire scene a bit too amusing. Imran Ashraf should definitely not go overboard and should know that it’s perfectly alright to not overly express yourself as an actor at every given situation – sometimes less is definitely more!
Fatima Effendi
Fatima Effendi is the new howler in town. She has been doing a lot of crying in the drama serial Munafiq, although she has acted well and done justice to her character but that can not be said about the crying prowess she has displayed in the entire drama. Her cries are so loud that they can make the unconscious conscious, they can make people turn in their sleep and can wake infants up. Fatima Effendi can, in fact, should definitely tone it down especially when she knows her voice has the quality of getting a little screeching and loud.
Syed Arez
Syed Arez has cried so much in Kahin Deep Jale that when the viewers saw him smiling in the latest drama Tarap, they didn’t know how to react because the kind of expression he carries on his face makes it look like he doesn’t know how to sport a normal face expression. Syed Arez has a painful look on his face and every time he speaks, it looks like the poor guy is going to burst into tears any minute. The subdued low pitch voice, red glycerin filled eyes and droopy lips, along with exaggerated expressions make him a poor crier too.
Irsa Ghazal
Irsa Ghazal is another experienced actress of the Pakistani drama industry but unfortunately, after all these years, she has not understood that her crying scenes can take a toll on viewer’s mental and emotional well-being. They can also deafen the viewers because the way her voice gets heavier as the pitch gets higher, she makes it look like she doesn’t know where to stop and in the heat of the moment she goes overboard thinking she gave a phenomenal performance. Everything else is perfectly alright but crying in such a bad manner is definitely not. Irsa Ghazal is definitely one of the worst criers of Pakistani drama industry.
Nida Mumtaz
Nida Mumtaz; another experienced actor thinks the louder the better, but we would like to do the honors of respectfully telling her that toning down is not only going to do wonders to her but will be a huge favor for the viewers too. Her expressions everytime she cries tend to become funny, but what’s interesting is that her sad acting remains the same in every single drama and doesn’t get any better. There are some criers who make the viewers feel uncomfortable with their emotional acting and she happens to be one of them.
This completes the list of worst criers seen in Pakistani dramas. Which ones make you feel queasy and uncomfortable while portraying sad emotions? Which of these actors have forced you to turn the volume of your TV down? Feel free to add more names to the list and share your opinions about the actors mentioned above.

Ohkay so, this episode of Muqaddar covered the moment that changed Raima’s life. I think from now on, as much as the story will be about Raima’s sufferings, it will also show how she will be impacting Saif ur Rehman’s life. I can totally foresee the pace getting a little slower from this episode onward where Raima will take a lot of time in coming to terms with the fact that she is now married to Saif ur Rehman, but after she will eventually accept the reality, that is when the story will definitely become a lot more interesting.
Saif ur Rehman’s Authority
The beginning of the episode showed how Saad was ready to go to any extent to help Raima. No one so far has been able to solve the riddle that the girl who interviewed Saif ur Rehman has gone missing & not only that, her family & fiancee were threatened too. It goes to show that as much as Saad or even Farkhanda know Saif ur Rehman, this is something that is beyond their imagination that Saif ur Rehman can go to such an extent to win someone over, especially a girl who he only met once in his life.
Saif ur Rehman’s character for now seems to be pretty one-dimensional where he is so used to being in control & authority that he can not look beyond that wall where there can be emotions & feelings. For Saif ur Rehman, Raima is like a trophy that he wants to win no matter what price he is going to make her pay. Raima remained persistent that she loved Haris, but unfortunately, she couldn’t do anything. At this point, Saif ur Rehman remains the least favorite character but I am sure the writer is going to show how he is going to evolve & how Raima will transform him, which hopefully will be interesting to see. Saif ur Rehman used the final nail in the coffin to convince Raima & she caved in. It was ironic that Saif ur Rehman still chose not to see the love Raima had for Haris where only to save his life, she was accepting his proposal.
Madiha Imam has remained in her element as Raima & had made me feel for her every step of the way. Muqaddar so far is the kind of drama that hasn’t offered something new or out of the box, however the way it has been executed makes you look forward to it. The strong & powerful portrayal of emotions happens to be the strength of Muqaddar, be it from Raima or Haris & his family or even Saif ur Rehman. Abeera & Hassan’s track remains the least favorite so far & doesn’t offer much. They have been used as a filler & it is written all over them. However, the only reason I see of this track is to may be serve as an eye-opener to Saif ur Rehman because Abeera seems to be falling for the wrong guy & eventually, after Saif ur Rehman will see his daughter suffering, he will realize the pain he had caused to Raima & her family.
It is unfortunate that Raima’s uncle Arshad chose to stay aloof to the entire scenario. He thinks he has tried his best but the truth is, he did not & even now he seems to be preventing Haris from doing anything. Arshad probably knows that Saif ur Rehman is far too strong & influential to be fought with, therefore he is just trying to save his family unit because he understands that for Raima, there’s no turning back from Saif ur Rehman’s trap.
Raima & Saif ur Rehman got married & the entire time, I couldn’t help but feel for Raima. The entire ‘sharab haram hai’ was in bad taste & seemed totally unnecessary because it would’ve been realistic if they had shown Saif ur Rehman celebrating his union with being in his senses & rejoicing over it by just being happy. He obviously didn’t need alcohol to deal with the fact that he finally succeeded in making Raima his. Saif ur Rehman’s aggression is the part of his nature & personality but once again, to see him reacting to Raima’s confession of always loving Haris seemed uncalled for because what else was he expecting from a girl who has clearly stated it again & again that she doesn’t like him to begin with. What happens next remains to be seen.
Strong Performances
This episode of Muqaddar once again had amazing acting to its credit. Madiha Imam & Faysal Qureshi are making Muqaddar worthwhile. Ali Ansari has emerged to be a very strong performer in this drama & it seems he actually gave it all to Haris’s character because so far, I haven’t seen any such drama of his where he got to perform to his full potential. All the supporting actors like Ayesha Gul, Saife Hassan & Fazila Qazi are rightfully adding & contributing towards the story & drama. I am definitely looking forward to the next episode. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Muqaddar.
HUM and ARY are the leading channels that most viewers tune into for watching dramas. Both channels have evolved over the years. These channels have also contributed to the revival of Pakistani dramas. This year too if we take a look at the kind of dramas that are being aired on both these channels, their basic philosophy is quite clear.
Honestly speaking, this philosophy became more clear to me when I sat down to draw these comparisons and consciously looked for which dramas were airing on a specific day on these channels. The results were as clear as daylight by the time I was done with my ‘research’. As a drama buff with keen observation and also as someone who has been writing about dramas for more than 8 years now, I find it interesting how channels keep on changing their policies and priorities.
It is also upsetting to see just how invested some producers are in winning the TRPs race. Thankfully, there are still those production houses which believe in innovation and meaningful entertainment. Broadly speaking, there are two different kinds of viewers watching these dramas; those who love watching fast-paced done-to-death stories as long as they are ‘entertaining’ and others who find new concepts refreshing.
Personally, I believe that dramas should be intelligently written, executed and the end product should be entertaining, everything else is secondary. My definition of an exceptional drama is one that entertains and enlightens at the same time.
I decided to draw a fair comparison between dramas that are airing at 8 pm on HUM and ARY on specific days. Since the 8 pm is the prime slot in which the channels air their best dramas.
Monday 8 pm Dramas on HUM and ARY
Monday is the most difficult day of the week for some people who do not always start the week with the same enthusiasm as others. You would think that the channels will prefer showing something fun and entertaining on television to help people unwind on Monday but that is definitely not the case!
Daasi airs on HUM on Monday and ARY is showing drama serial Ishqiya. Ishqiya is more ‘popular’ among the masses but I would put both these dramas in the same category. Both the dramas involve clichéd love stories which have been executed poorly. Both these dramas have a star cast but that does not make up for the slow pace and unappealing storylines.
I tried watching both Ishqiya and Daasi. Daasi was boring right from the start and the most disappointing aspect has been Adeel Hussein’s acting and the character he chose to play. After all, this was his comeback serial, he could have done better. Ishqiya first few episodes were average but it seems to be going downhill with every passing episode.
It seems like, both these channels do not take the Monday slot too seriously and are not too keen on airing dramas with quality content. They are clearly relying more on star power than anything else.
What’s on Air on Tuesday
Mein Na Janoo was on air for more than 20 weeks on HUM and it ended recently. It is going to be replaced with Kashf which hopefully won’t be as lame and disappointing as Mein Na Janoo. Mein Na Janoo was the worst play that aired in the 8 pm slot on any of the leading channels. Even Zahid Ahmed publicly apologized for being a part of this project.
ARY airs Ruswai on Tuesday which is an issue-based drama. Although Ruswai has completely gone off track, even then it has been way better than Mein Na Janoo. Ruswai is also ending soon. It has been stretched to the limit and people are waiting for it to end.
Therefore we will soon get to watch two new dramas on both these channels on Tuesday. Kashf seems promising and will hopefully be another serial that is worth watching.
A Clear Winner on Wednesday
Well, let’s just say that there is absolutely no competition between the two dramas which air on these channels on Wednesday. On ARY we have Thora Sa Haq and on HUM we have Ye Dil Mera. While Ye Dil Mera is engaging and inventive, Thora Sa Haq is full of clichés.
Thora Sa Haq banks on the most ghisse pitay scenarios and star power. On the other hand, Ye Dil Mera has both star power and a storyline which keeps you on the edge even though the execution isn’t always perfect.
HUM is a clear winner in this slot since it provides the perfect quality entertainment which the viewers truly deserve after watching the most pathetic dramas at the start of the week.
Another Victory For HUM on Thursday
Pyar Ke Sadqay airs on HUM on Thursday and Ghalati on ARY. Once again, it would be unfair to even put these two dramas in the same category. While Ghalati is yet another rocky marriage and inconsiderate in laws story, Pyar Ke Sadqay is a light-hearted yet extremely touching drama serial.
Pyar Ke Sadqay is getting better with every passing episode. It has a quality script, a brand new on-screen couple and so much more going for it. Ghalati on the other hands banks solely on the Du Bol on-screen jodi, Saba Hameed plays the evil saas yet again and it fails miserably in providing quality entertainment. I watched it for a few weeks and gave up on it completely. It was frustrating watching someone educated and enlightened going through hell for no reason!
On the other hand, I watched Pyar Ke Sadqay only after watching the clips on social media. I wasn’t expecting much from this drama since Cheekh did not work for me at all and Pyar Ke Sadqay has been written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah too. It is currently my favorite drama mainly because of the script. HUM has proved yet again that it is completely capable of airing dramas that offer something new and attractive.
Game Show vs. An Over-Stretched Drama On Friday
ARY does not even air a drama on Friday but relies on the popularity of Jeeto Pakistan to bring in the TRPs. HUM airs Jo Tu Chahey on Friday which is another drama which has been dragged for the longest time. Most people probably are tuning into another channel or the crowd which watches the game show has that option.
Jo Tu Chahey was initially titled Kun Fayakun which resulted in a controversy and consequently, it went off air. Right now, it has lost all its appeal and most people are waiting for it to end.
So, there isn’t anything worth watching on HUM or ARY on Friday. While HUM is at least airing a drama in the time slot, ARY isn’t doing so.
Jhooti and Dil Ruba on Saturday
Dil Ruba recently aired on HUM after Deewar-e-Shab ended. Jhooti has been on air for more than 10 weeks now on ARY. Jhooti and Dil Ruba have a few things in common. Both dramas have female protagonists who are clever and manipulative. Dil Ruba so far is making more sense than Jhooti did in its initial episodes. Jhooti has turned into one of those dramas which bank wholly on the negative traits of the female protagonist. It is mostly unconvincing and annoying.
Dil Ruba’s protagonist does not have the negative streak which is usually off-putting but it is another commercial drama that may or may not deliver in the long run.
HUM Leads on Sunday
ARY doesn’t show any drama on Sunday whereas HUM was showing Ehd-e-Wafa before and Sabaat now. HUM definitely takes the weekend dramas more seriously than ARY. Ehd-e-Wafa was an entertaining and meaningful drama. Sabaat is also off to a good start.
HUM definitely has been making sure that they give the viewers something to look forward to on Sunday and therefore for the drama buffs, it definitely leads this slot.
The Verdict
HUM is clearly leading more slots than ARY. It is also evident that ARY has been more focused on getting the ratings, ticking all the boxes to attract the masses but compromising on quality as a result. HUM has also been experimenting more than ARY. Also, the fact that ARY is depending so much on a game show in the slot which is actually meant for dramas, shows that the channel doesn’t take its dramas too seriously!
There isn’t a single drama on ARY in the 8 pm slot which I personally like or look forward to. In fact making this list was an eye-opener since I did not realize just how many mediocre dramas ARY was airing during the week. Although HUM has also aired disasters like Mein Na Janoo and Daasi, it has many good dramas to its credit as well.
I really hope that ARY will give us something good to watch soon and stop using these shortcuts to get TRPs. HUM is on the right track and is a clear winner right now.

The coronavirus lockdown is keeping us all indoors. And while we’re all quarantining at home, most of us have started doing a lot of stuff, which we never really did earlier. And similarly Minal Khan, too, is killing those quarantine blues in the kitchen.
The gorgeous actress took to Instagram to share how she had been spending time in the kitchen, making burgers for her brothers.
“Trying out my cooking skills at home, made beef burgers for my monster brothers,” wrote Minal on her Instagram.
To be honest, the burgers that Minal made, looked absolutely scrumptious. Heavenly, if we use the right word.
Minal Khan’s next is a Big Bang Production, alongside Shahroz Sabzwari as Rabi Saqib.
