Entertainment space is abuzz with one of the most-anticipated events of the year, ‘Fashion Pakistan Week (FPW)’ which opens drapes tonight.
We are already very excited and restlessly looking forward to designers to wow and impress us with their latest work. The Spring/Summer 2017 event was earlier set for three days – February 22-2, but the management brought it down to two days.
FPW is one of the most grand fashion weeks of Pakistan in which all the big designers of Pakistan showcase their best works. FPW 2014 was a start studded affair in which we saw everyone from the drama and modelling fraternity. The FPW came to an end yesterday. Here are some pictures from the event:
Pakistani model Fouzia Aman, formerly known as Fauzia Amir, is one of the hottest sensations in the Pakistani fashion world. Starting her modelling career with a Girl Next Door image, Fouzia has been conquering hearts with that beautiful smile of hers. She has been in the Pakistani fashion scene for quite sometime now and has gradually transitioned into a more attractive model. One thing that hasn’t changed is her lovely flattering smile. Her ability to carry both eastern and western dresses along with the respective transformation of her body language is what sets her apart and has gifted her with loads of success over the years.
Fozia lately celebrated her birthday with her friends. Let us share some pictures with you.
It is said that Dress is important but not more important than the art of dressing. It is very true the choice of an outfit that would complement the personality of a person is crucial but the way you carry a dress plays far more important role in the overall appearance.
Sometimes a dress is very beautiful, in its color, contrast, cut and everything but when you don’t accessorize it right, it could turn the whole outlook of a personality into a mess. Other times one can turn an extremely simple dress into an elegant one with the way you accessorize and carry it.
Sanam Jung, one of the famous morning show hosts, was seen wearing the exact same dress four times. Three times it was on the sets of Jago Pakistan Jago and one time it was on a private occasion. Wearing the same dress on the same show sounds clichéd but the way Sanam carried the dress gave it a whole new appearance and ambiance.
Here is how Sanam carried the same dress in four different attires.
Turns out that it actually is the art of wearing a dress which determines the fate of how it looks on someone.

Ever wondered how hormones affect our various moods? Sometimes we feel happy, sometimes sad, sometimes angry.. this is all due to hormonal changes in our body. Today, let me tell you about hormones which affect our happiness levels. There are four hormones which determine a human’s happiness namely Endorphins, Dopamine, Serotonin, and Oxytocin. All these are interlinked to each other and it is important we understand these hormones, as we need all four of them to stay happy.
Endorphins
Endorphins are released during physical activity or exercise. This hormone helps the body cope with the pain of exercising. Going running, cycling, cleaning, gardening, doing yoga, getting a massage, eating chocolate also helps release endorphins. Laughter is another good way of generating endorphins, thus increasing happiness. A daily dose of thirty minutes is essential for hormonal balance of endorphins.
Dopamine
Dopamine is released through the body when we get a reward for accomplishing certain tasks either at work or at home. In our journey of life, we accomplish many little and big tasks, it releases various levels of dopamine. When dopamine is released in large amounts, it creates feelings of pleasure and reward, which motivates us to repeat a specific, positive behavior. Dopamine levels can be increased by eating the right level of proteins, getting enough sleep, exercising, getting enough sunlight, meditation, listening to music, etc. This can help in increased motivation levels for getting rewards and positive feedback. Thus the cycle of getting dopamine is repeated.
Serotonin
Serotonin is released when we help others or act in a way that benefits them. Giving back to the society makes many people happy which means their body is releasing serotonin. Buying someone a gift, giving them advice on useful matters, being a shoulder for them to cry on.. all contribute to the increase in serotonin. You can increase your serotonin levels by doing things you love or for loved ones, try keeping a balanced diet, try meditation, getting enough sleep and thinking positive.
Oxytocin
The final hormone Oxytocin is released when we become close to other human beings. Oxytocin is also known as the cuddle hormone or the love hormone. It has physical and psychological effects, including influencing social behavior and emotion. When we hug our friends and family, when we shake hands with someone, various amounts of oxytocin are released. When someone is sad, we can hug them thus giving them happiness. It is just like transfering the hormone to another person. Now, we can understand why we need to hug someone who must be experiencing a bad mood.
So, it is simple, we must exercise or meditate every other day to get endorphins, we must accomplish little goals, get rewards for them and get dopamine, we need to be nice and give back to others to get serotonin and finally hug our kids, friends, and families to get Oxytocin and we will be happy and make them happy. When we are happy, we can deal with our challenges and problems better.
We do not expect the celebrities to wear a same dress but when they do there is bound to be a who wore it better war between them where we love to vote for who rocked in the same dress more and who has carried it more elegantly.
This time the war is not only limited to actresses sporting the same attire but now there are actors involved as well. Four of the famous celebrities have worn the same kurta on multiple occasions and all of them carried it tremendously.
These celebrities are Fawad Afzal Khan, Faisal Qureshi, Mahira Khan and Hania Aamir. Although the color of the kurta that Faisal Qureshi wore was different from the other three ones but other than the color it was same while the other three ones wore the exact same one.
Here are all of them them sporting same kurta.
All of them accessorize it differently though. Mahira Khan with a plazo, Hania Aamir with straights , Fawad Khan and Faisal Qureshi with trousers.
All of them killed it in the kurta and did complete justice to it.
Formula Films have pretty predictable kind of structure and don’t have any story different from routine movies. In short, repeated and reused plots and storyline makes a flop formula movie :) .
During an interview to Express news, Ahsan Khan said that masses of our country have developed their sense of differentiating good and bad. They know which movie they should go to watch in theaters and which not. He further advised to Pakistani Film Makers that People of our country are also expecting to have International quality films that can be released worldwide.
We should realize the need of the hour now; Great and worse movies are part of every Cinema’s culture but we need to eradicate this culture and have to bring about our own trend of movies. If we want to revive Pakistan Film Industry and If we want our cinemas to be over-occupied again, we have to make movies having different story lines.
By making worse quality films, Film makers are not only ruining their time, money and energy but also wasting time of public. He said that movies are great source of entertainment and movie making is among profitable businesses in the world. If we will work faithfully, we will definitely come up with quality content to meet our viewers expectations like recently released Pakistani movie that did great business due to marvelous cinematography.
