The documentary is about the life of Qandeel Baloch and how she struggled for the rights of women in Pakistan. It also shows how she became a sensational media personality who talked about controversial issues and also how she got murdered at the hands of her own brother.

Qandeel Baloch was among the most searched internet personality having a huge amount of haters on the internet. She was found dead when she visited her family where her brother murdered her. Her murder was condemned by many people and she is considered as a symbol of bravery.

A Pakistani documentary which is about the Kasur scandal, that is, Pakistan’s biggest child sexual abuse scandal, has been nominated at the New York Festival this year.

The documentary is called Kasur’s Lost Children and is 48 minutes long. It shows an investigation that follows one activist on his quest and journey to bring justice to the victims.

Pakistani filmmaker, Shehzad Hameed has directed and produced the film.

The documentary was screened as part of the third season of Channel NewsAsia’s award-winning investigative series Undercover Asia.

This is not the first time Shehzad is being recognized by the New York Festival. In 2016, he was awarded with the gold medal in the Best Documentary: Community Portraits category for his earlier documentary Flight of the Falcons.

Kasur’s Lost Children has been nominated in the Best Documentary: Human Concerns category this year.
