Even though people weren’t so happy with the ending of the drama yet, it was a super hit play.

Saife Hassan who was director of Sang-e-Mar Mar earlier this year revealed that the sequel of Sang-e-Mar Mar is in making by the name of Sang-e-Mah. It is basically a trilogy series by the name of Sang-e-Mar Mar, Sang-e-Mah, and Sang-e- Siyah. Saife shared that the drama will have the same cast as Nauman Ijaz, Kubra Khan, and Sania Saeed. It will again be a story of a Pathan family. Sang-e-Mah will soon be hitting out Tv screens. Sang-e-Mah is currently the center of everyone’s attention as the most famous singer of Pakistan Atif Aslam will be making his acting debut with it. Hania Aamir will also be seen in the drama serial. I think it’s fair to say that “Sanam” is the most anticipated drama serial of this year. Boasting a star cast that includes Maya Ali, Osman Khalid Butt, Hareem Farooq, Emad Irfani and Hina Bayat, the drama is directed by Haseeb Hassan and penned by his other half, Mona Haseeb. It is a Momina Duraid production so it will air on HUM TV in September.

Raqeeb Se was one of the most anticipated dramas as legendary singer Hadiqa Kiani was making her acting debut with it. The drama hooked the audience right from the beginning. Drama serial Qarar before starting had the huge baggage of expectations as Sanam Jung was appearing in the negative character for the very first time. Drama serial Qarar starred Sanam Jung in the character of Maya who has portrayed as a beautiful girl whose arrogance and selfishness had no limits.

Rabab Hashim played the character of Maya’s orphan cousin Fariha who got an angelic nature. Muneeb Butt as Ammar played the character of Fariha’s husband.

Chupke Chupke is one of the most famous Ramazan plays, it is currently airing on Hum Tv. Chupke Chupke has everything from a stellar cast to balanced humor and also an engaging storyline.

After the first 6 episodes, a serious issue has been raised by the audience regarding Chupke Chupke. Ali Safina is playing the character of “Miskeen” who is basically married to “Gul” (Mira Sethi) and lives in his wife’s house. The only duty of Miskeen is to look after the kitchen and to do all the other house chores.

Miskeen’s in-laws and wife never leave a chance to insult him and making him realize that he is useless and only a burden to the family. Netizens are not agreeing with this problematic portrayal of Ghar Damad.

Kanwal Ahmed who is famously knwon for hosting her own web-series “Conversation with Kanwal” talked about this issue and many peole came in her support. Let’s have a look at Kanwal’s tweet:

It is ridiculous, parents should be able to live with any of their children and I have seen daughters taking care of their parents. Interestingly I met this Muslim Indian lady from Kerala India and she told me that it is traditional that parents live with their eldest daughter.

In other Muslim countries most parents prefer to live with their daughters as it's not a norm to ask a DIL to serve them. It's the daughters and the sons who serve them, with daughters usually taking care of them while living with them and sons bearing the finances.

Osman Khalid Butt, however, came up with a justification that the Ghar Damaad is ridiculed because he refuses to work even though he has an opportunity to join the family business.

This is an interesting take; however it's important to mention this 'ghar damad' refuses to work despite being offered a job in the family business, isn't with his in-laws because of financial (or any) duress, & while he's played for broad comedy, has his own arc.

We have certainly a great news to share with the fans of Sheheryar Munwari Siddiqui and Sajjal Ali. The two of them would soon be seen together in an upcoming drama serial “Aasman pe Likha”, which is expected to reach out to the viewers by going on air this year. 

The drama is directed by Mohsin Mirza and comes under the production of A&B Productions. It is after a while that Sheheryar Munawar will be seen again on screen in the main lead after the success of his last drama “Kahi Ankahee” where he surprised the audience by his flawless acting skills and onscreen chemistry with Aiza Khan. The actor was also appreciated for his role of Osama in “Zindagi Gulzar hai” but again, the character was a supporting role and didn’t highlighted him that much.

Sajjal Ali, on the other hand, is enjoying a great time in her professional career where all his projects are bringing fame and fortune-both! Recently, her appearance in the Telefilm “Behadd” was liked by her fans.

It has been quite a while that we haven’t seen Saba Qamar doing something really big on screen but seems like the wait is now over as the actress will now soon be seen in an upcoming drama serial ‘Sannata’ which will go on air on ARY Digital.

Been produced by iDream Productions, the drama is a beautiful write-up of Sajji Gul. The direction has been done by Kashif Nisar and the cast includes some popular actors like Saba Qamar, Danish Taimoor and Sajal Ali in lead roles.

The drama is a difficult story where a man is made married to two women the same day which is certainly an unusual act to accept and probably because of the new idea highlighted here, the drama has started building its potential audience with its first few promos that are all on-air now on the channel.

It is yet not possible to make any guesses about the storyline as the team has kept the story much as a secret. However, with whatever been  available of social media websites, it can be concluded that the story revolves around the silence and miseries that are found within an individual.

Geo is offering a complete package of entertainment having all the success ingredients to make  the new projects hit one after another but its viewership is really far behind as compared to that of HUM or ARY. With dramas like Aasmano par Likha and Numm, Geo has even tried investing on popular celebrities but it seems more like a bad luck that Geo is not able to revive its old feel among the viewers who are now attached to other private channels.

7^th Sky Entertainment, which has always shown its support towards the channel, is now all ready to entertain the viewers with an upcoming drama serial ‘Rukhsar’. The promos are already out and the drama will start going on air from December 9^th, 2013.

ARY Digital will now soon be offering its viewers another flavor of entertainment with its next big project which will soon be going on air under the title of ‘Meri Beti’. The promos of the drama are already out and there are no second thoughts that this drama is really going to be a hit due to its different story and outstanding cast.

Written by Mohsin Ali, the drama is directed by Badar Mehmood, who is also known for his phenomenal direction of the drama ‘Tere Anay k Baad’, where we will see Samina Peerzada, Arij Fatima, Ismat  Zaidi and other famous celebrities.

The drama basically highlights the bond which is shared in between a mother and her daughter. This surely, is not a new concept but the one which never goes unappreciated. It is assumed that Arij Fatima will be found doing a completely different role as compared to all her previous work that she has been doing. On the other hand, watching Samina Peerzada on screen is always a treat and her fans are now all waiting for the drama to go on-air.

The year 2013 has had been a lucky one for the drama industry where the audience kept enjoying back2back hit drama serials on Hum TV and ARY Digital, while Geo TV strived to earn its lost significance in the drama industry.  With dramas like ‘Asmaano Par Likha’, Geo, now seems to pay more attention towards the local content and following its new strategy, the channel will soon launch a new drama serial ‘Do Qadam Door Thay’ this December.

Been written by Kifayat Rodaini, the drama has been directed by Mohsin Mirza and comes under the production of an Ironline Productions & KK Ent Play. The cast of the drama includes some A-class actors like Sami Khan, Ayeza Khan, Sana Khan and Aly Khan. Based on the social tragic plot, it is easy to predict that this upcoming project might create a decent viewership.
