Imran Abbas Is Excited To Work With Sajal Aly

Imran Abbas Is Excited To Work With Sajal Aly

Imran Abbas and Sajal Aly have joined forces to work together for Sarmad Khoosat’s next, Noor-ul-Ain. The dynamic duo will seen together for the first time on screen, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Recently, Abbas had a chit chat with a local publication house on his upcoming project:

“It’s a beautiful love story which unfolds in a very nice way; showing the transition between the characters and their relationships.”

“I’m looking forward to it because I usually do one or two serials in a year and this is going to be my second this year – in a way it’s my third [serial] but the second one was shot last year so technically this is still my second.”

The other project Imran is talking about is his upcoming Yaar-e-Bewafa.

Sitting back on the projects he was being offered and signing only selective ones, Abbas declared the reason as:

“I had turned down many projects before coming across the script for this. I refused many TV dramas including Baaghi because I wanted to come in a project which would be highly anticipated by my fans and followers and not bore them.”

“I was very attracted to the script. The content for this serial is very good. I can’t really reveal much at this point because there’s not much I can say.”

And why wouldn’t he talk about the absolutely gorgeous diva he would be working alongside. Abbas look forwards to work opposite Sajal:

“I’m pairing with her for the first time. I think people will look forward to that because this is a fresh pairing.”

“I’m already getting some feedback from my fans and followers and it’s amazing. They hint the serial will already be a hit because people are really appreciating the pairing. Also, Sajal’s a very talented actress and I’m very happy that her film Mom is doing so well in India and all over. She’s a positive representation of Pakistan and I am so excited to work with her.”

As far as working with Sarmad Khoosat is concerned, he is not working with the director for the first time:

“I had worked with [Sarmad] once in Manto as one of the characters in the series he produced. But this is the first time I’m working with him properly in a drama serial. His work is always brilliant so I’m very comfortable this serial will do well.

“When I heard the idea of this serial, I understood that really good things are being planned by the production team. From the soundtrack to every little detail, its well planned and I can say this is the biggest serial in the upcoming season. I am looking forward to it. Fingers crossed. I hopefully won’t disappoint my fans, friends, family, anyone who loves me!”

Girls’ Cat Fight Caught On Camera

We have come a long way as a society and our civilisation and morality has benefitted from educational advancement. However, there are still certain times when we forget our basic mannerisms and behaviour ethics.

The trouble with today is that the advent of smart phones and watches and other pocket devices that people carry with them, any odd behaviour gets noticed and captured and shared in an instant. Here is a video made by someone who happened to be in the Tariq Road restaurant when all this happened;

Actresses’ Weight Loss Statistics

Showbiz is a very competitive industry and you have to remain at the top of the game every day. It is not easy to look your best all the time, but when you choose to remain on front of the camera as a profession, you are seldom left with any other choice. Here is a video about celebrities who have worked hard to stay in shape. They had gained weight, but when it became a hindrance to their progress, look at how much they moved the scale ;

Waqar Zaka Demotes Qandeel Baloch

Waqar Zaka has always had an opinion about the most controversial of topics in Pakistan and he has no qualms about expressing them. He had received quite a backlash after his posts on social media forums.

This time the actor and host has spoken up about Qandeel Baloch, Pakistan’s most controversial social media star who was murdered at the hands of her younger brother. She has been in news recently both due to her death anniversary and also in the wake of Baaghi, an Urdu1 drama that has been promoted widely. The drama will be airing shortly and veteran actress Saba Qamar will be playing the main character, Qandeel Baloch. There has been many speculations as to whether the drama will glorify her life and death or will be used as a medium to denounce evils of all kinds in our society.

Amidst all the questions and answers about Qandeel, look at what Waqar Zaka has to say about her a day ago;

Waqar Zaka Demotes Qandeel Baloch

He wants people not to pay tribute to her just because she was murdered by a man. His point is that when you would not associate with Qandeel in her life or share anything about her because it was agreed by almost everybody that her activities were disgraceful, why would you want to glorify her now? Just because she was killed wrongly? She was wronged in the end but that does not make all the wrongs she had committed by choice take a right turn.

What do you think of Waqar Zaka’s statements?

Coke Studio Shines For Ten Years And Counting !!

0

Coke Studio will air its much anticipated tenth session in August, 2017. With this mega show all set to reach its tenth anniversary merely in a few days, let’s take a look at the the most popular musical Tv program in Pakistan.

Coke Studio has gained massive popularity because it records live many music genres and collabrates with artists new and old. There  is an ethereal aura around the Studio as live music is played and all the band members and instrumental artists are present on screen. The way they do team work and the rhythm that flows between all these individuals is what makes Coke Studio so mesmerising to watch. The first six seasons were produced by Rohail Hayat of Vital Signs and the later four are by Strings. No matter the producers’ team, Coke studies is genuinely increasing in popularity with each passing year.

Since the first show of Coke Studio in June 2008, the program has been consistently focusing on a fusion of the diverse musical influences in Pakistan, including eastern classical, folk, qawwali, ghazal, bhangra, Sufi, contemporary hip hop, rock and pop music.

Here are some of the most popular songs of Coke Studio over the years;

1. Sir Kiyae by strings from season 1 was among its most popular songs. Though it does seem dark and unrefined as compared to the technical evolution of today, it was the among first of this innovative genre of music and hence, still stands strong in memories.

2. Aik Alif by Saeen Zahoor and Noori was a spiritual tune that got immense appreciation in season 2.

3. Jugni of season 3 created magic by the immense vocal harmony between Meesha Shafi and Arif Lohar. It is one of the most beautiful compilations of Coke Studio to date.

4. Daanah Pah Daanah was a very special number of season 4 by Komal Rizvi and Akhtar Zahri.

5. Koi Labda from season 5 by Symt and Sanam Marvi is still one of the most virwed songs from the show.

6. Laila O Laila was by Rohail Hyatt was a beautiful redention of the Baluchi tune and it was memorable exit by him as a producer of the program.

7. Dost by Abida Parveen was probably the best out of the lot in season 7. Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia had definitely taken over the show for the better and the brilliance carried on in the future episodes as well.

8. Tajdar e Haram by Atif Aslam kept on being a show stealer from season 8.

9. Rang by Amjad Sabri and Rahat Fateh Ali was the most anticipated song of season nine and it did not disappoint the listeners at all.

There are many more songs from the show that have created wonders over the years. During this ten years’ journey, Coke Studio was a bit slow to gain popularity in the start since people were not too keen on the newer versions of their old favourites. Around the third season, it was a household name, and then it faltered again. Listeners’ high expectations were not adequately met, especially regarding the selection criteria of singers. However, from the seventh season, it had again amassed appreciation. The start of season 8 by Tajdar e Haram’s immense popularity did wonders for both Coke Studio and Atif Aslam. Season 9 also managed to produce some beautiful numbers by Mohsin Abbas Haider, Shiraz Uppal, Abida Parveen and of course veterans Amjad Sabri and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Be it the pairing of Atif Aslam with Gul Parna or Momina Mustehsan with Rahat Fateh Ali or Mehwish Hayat with Shiraz Uppal, Coke Studio experiments, explores, deviates, surprises and never fails to mesmerize its audience with the oddest of combinations and creating magic with them on screen.

Despite all the hits and misses, Coke Studio still remains “the” one platform where your vocals and intonation, if selected, can put you in immediate spotlight for name and fame. It has brought many home singers to public eye. Let’s see how the upcoming season fares, since it will mark an important milestone for Coke Studio.

Teri Raza Episode 03 Review – Cringe Alert!

Ohkay so, it is amazing how from being clichéd this story went to being cringe-worthy. There were so many cringes in this episode that I am not sure if I’d be able to cover them all. I think the producers of this drama very well knew that the story had nothing new to offer, so to draw the attention of the viewers in, they pushed Sanam Baloch to take the bullet for the team because they knew that no matter what, her fans are going to watch this drama. It is actually quite sad that Sanam Baloch decided to make a come back but with the story which is absolutely hideous & is filled with such boring characters.

First off, the focus on Istikhara seemed way too forced because it was so obvious that the writer wanted things to work in Paa Mmtyaz’s favor. It was actually cringe worthy how before even resorting to the Istikhara, Dadi kept on pushing everyone to think beyond Imtiyaz’s age & see him as a perfect match for Suhana. I swear I have no idea how many times I cringed when Dadi referred to Imtiyaaz as ‘acha larka’ because gurl, he is anything but a ‘larka’, even for your age! At first I was kind of relieved to see the resistance by Suhana’s parents but in the very next scene they showed Zafar favoring Imtiyaz’s proposal for Suhana? There have been zero developments in the characters & they seem so one-dimensional that it shows that the writer didn’t do much thinking while penning down the script & especially the characters!

I mean I really don’t understand why they decided to promote stereotypes, as if Imtiyaz was the last guy left on the Earth & if Suhana wouldn’t get married to him, her life would be over? Once again, how old is Suhana? She is just a university student so I really didn’t understand why her parents agreed to this proposal? The way there was so much focus on Imtiyaz’s age & then Istikhara suggested as if Suhana’s entire family was far more worried about Imtiyaz’s biological clock ticking because no one in their right state of mind would get their young daughter married to someone who is double her age & is probably the first suitor that has contacted them for this matter?

Another cringe worthy scenario was when Suhana’s mother started pressurizing Suhana that she should tell Rameez to send his parents ASAP, like only so that they could reject Imtiyaz’s proposal, they wanted Rameez to approach them & even if he didn’t, why were there no thoughts given to the fact that they could politely reject Imtiyaz because they didn’t see her as Suhana’s match? It was like just because they didn’t get the second proposal, they didn’t want to turn the first one down? Desperation much?

I am kind of dreading seeing Suhana’s forlorn face in the rest of the drama because even though she said she agreed to get married to Imtiyaz as her Daadi got the sign through Istikhara, she still wasn’t ready to accept Imtiyaz or give him a chance? If that was the case & if that’s how Suhana was going to react, then she should’ve taken a stand saying if not Rameez, then no Imtiyaz as well? Like she decided to accept Istikhara, but not the person who through Istikhara was chosen for her? Does that even make sense? Also, I am not sure what the writer here is trying to promote? Manzura’s claim that someone didn’t have children because she chose to go against Istikhara only shed a light on the negative mindset of the writer because things don’t roll that way & nothing & absolutely nothing can predict what the future might hold for someone. Also, it was actually sickening to see someone’s childlessness being used as her bad luck because she didn’t go by Istikhara? First off, I’d like to tell the writer that someone’s childlessness doesn’t define anything or any bad luck, so I actually detested seeing the stereotypes being promoted. The writer definitely needs to know better! Istikhara only guides people through but it most certainly doesn’t tell what the future is going to be like!!!

Another cringe-worthy scene was when Suhana, the desperate Suhana ended up calling Rameez’s father asking if he was coming to her place or not? LOL! Like seriously, how desperate are you girl? This was the height of cringing & I mean I didn’t roll my eyes on Imtiyaz’s silk robe as much as I did throughout this scene. I really don’t get the rush that was shown in this drama to get Suhana hitched to someone!!!???!!! Let her complete her studies first please & then shift the focus on her marriage please!!!

Another cringe-worthy, typical & boring scenario was Dadi’s sudden decline in health & then her regaining her health back the moment Suhana got engaged? LOL! How many times are we going to rely on heart attacks, deaths or in this case unconsciousness to push the story forward in the direction that the one who suffers through some health issues wants? Just because Dadi fainted, the moment she woke up, she had Suhana’s engagement on her mind while still telling her that she ain’t putting any pressures on her? Yes, I do understand that they tried to show that Suhana will take some time in getting over her heart break & the lies that Rameez told but I think they should’ve shown Suhana putting everything on hold & dealing with her heartbreak first rather than rushing into this forced engagement. It was amusing how during the engagement ceremony, even Suhana’s parents were sad & had no happiness on their faces, like seriously it made me think aggar aisa hi tha to itni kya jaldi thi?

The preview of the next episode showed Rameez’s re-entry & Suhana second guessing Dadi’s Istikhara. I am not sure what to say about this story because it is just going to drag from this point onward. It is such a shame that the team of Teri Raza failed to leave a mark & impress the viewers because the story, the backbone of the project is weak! Please share your thoughts about this episode of Teri Raza.

Alif Allah Aur Insaan Episode 13 Review – A Treat To Watch!

Ohkay so, this episode of Alif Allah Aur Insaan was absolutely incredible. I just couldn’t keep track of time & enjoyed everything that was revealed today. I must say the pace of the drama is absolutely perfect, so much happens in every other episode that it shows that there’s so much left to be revealed yet which makes it even more engaging. I really hope the journey of this drama remains just as amazing as it is at the moment & they keep on giving us one strong episode after another.

I loved the conversation between Qadir & Basit. The moment Qadir started speaking to his son, it was so evident that he was skeptical & was actually scared that his worst fears might come true but the moment Basit lied to him, his heart was put to ease & all of a sudden there was a change in his voice, expressions & body language. Even though Basit didn’t speak the truth but just seeing how relieved Qadir felt made me feel good about the entire situation. I really hoped that this visit & all those reminders from Qadir would serve as an eye opener for Basit & he’d realize how wrong he was.

It does seem like Nazneen has a plan up her sleeve, like she seems so comfortable in this entire messy situation & that is because she definitely has thought things through. Even though Nazneen knows that Basit will never be able to take a stand for her especially by going against his family, it looks like she has taken care of that thing as well & for now, all she wanted was to buy some time. It was kind of suspicious how Nazneen told Basit to stay quiet & keep their relationship a secret from his family because if it would’ve been any other girl, she would’ve been excited to know that her boyfriend is finally going to make their relationship official but she didn’t want that to happen. Even though the dialogue in the preview has left me confused but going by what was shown in this episode, the way Nazneen easily surrendered made me feel that she now was taking Shahzeb as a challenge & just because her ego was hurt, she didn’t mind drifting away from Basit in pursuit of being with Shahzeb? This entire situation is kind of confusing but intriguing as well because you just can not predict what is going to happen & how the characters are going to react, which makes it even more interesting to be honest & shows the detailing that the writer has added in every other situation!

At this point I can say I have started enjoying Baba Jee’s conversations & scenes because they have been written with so much of profoundness that you actually want to listen to what he has to say. ‘Sach ka raasta asaan hota to uska ajar itna ziyada na hota’, ‘jo insaan khud ko Khuda samajhte hain wo kabhi maaf nahi karte aur jo insaan samajhte hain wo bin kahay maaf kar dete hain’, what I love the most is the fact that in almost every other episode, they try to show us the difference between Allah & Insaan, like without even making things preachy, these conversations are executed seamlessly while still holding so much of meaning & depth. Shahzeb actually felt burdened that he chose to share the truth of his past with Nazneen but then Baba Jee tried to put things into perspective.

Chaman Begum surely handled everything really really well. She knew that the chapter of Nigar Begum was closed & there was no point in mourning over what, when, why & how everything went wrong, so it was quite intelligent of her that she decided to move past that stage in order to shape things up for the future. It was interesting how Chaman Begum immediately thought that Rani could’ve been the culprit but ‘ilzaam ka badla ilzaam’ conversation forced her to stay silent. Chaman Begum knows that no matter what she’d say, things will only get out of hands & the fact that she was the one who served Nigar Begum the juice could put her in trouble, so she decided to leave Rani alone. Ustaad’s conversation with Chaman also told her that Rani was the one who could save the sinking ship therefore Chaman decided to maintain her terms with Rani.

The split second scene where Rani was playing with the fountain water showed how she was trying to feel what it was like having everything in the palm of her hands. Yes, at first when the news of Nigar’s death broke out, Rani did feel a little scared but the moment she heard that Chaman Begum spoke about keeping everything under wraps, she immediately realized that she won at this battle without even trying & that is why she all of a sudden started feeling at ease & was seen enjoying this sense of freedom that she was experiencing after a long long time.

Sadly, the dancer Shammo & even the renowned makeup artist Shammi was never good enough for Rani. I loved how they showed that Rani was once again standing at a crossroad & life was giving her two opportunities, one that she was making for herself & the other which was being presented to her. Shammi showed her the other side of the picture where he promised her family, comfort, shelter & a lot of love but Rani felt she got the chance to fulfill her dreams, so she should make the most of it. Yes, this is going to cost Rani a lot & even though for now she doesn’t realize but the time will come when she will understand that she made a huge mistake but sadly, at this moment she is so blinded by the idea of fame, success & reigning that she is not thinking about anything else. So, Rani finally got what she wanted, she finally stepped on Nigar Begum’s throne, she was finally going to rule the realm that Nigar Begum left behind, but only the time will teach her that being Nigar Begum comes with a territory.

So, looks like just when Shahzeb completely lost hope, he got the news that Nazneen herself agreed for this marriage. I am sure there’s more to it because the way Samina & Razia were concerned, I can totally see something odd happening. I am sure things are going to get more interesting henceforth!

Overall, I enjoyed this episode a lot. I must say the art direction of this drama is phenomenal, like every other scene is a visual treat & has aesthetics that you just feel teleported to another world. It is pretty evident that they didn’t only focus on the execution of the script but actually wanted to breathe life into every single situation by adding so much attention to detail & it surely has worked. Even though his scene was short, I loved Noor Ul Hassan’s performance, like he portrayed the concerns of a father to perfection. All the other actors have done a brilliant job. I loved how Shammi cried when he once again got rejected, like he wanted to hide his tears but still couldn’t contain himself, Imran Ashraf is amazing. Ushna Shah has been the star of the show right from the beginning & it is amazing that she has done justice to each & every shade of Rani’s personality, like it was amazing to see how Rani’s attitude & body language changed when she got the power & I must add, she looked absolutely gorgeous in the last scene. The preview has left me confused, not sure what future holds for Basit & I am definitely interested to see what’s going to happen. Please share your thoughts about this amazing episode of Alif Allah Aur Insaan.

Yasir Hussain’s Web Series with Amna Ilyas and Bilawal Abbasi

Thanks to the internet, now there are many other channels to share your work other than television or theatre. In the past few years, Internet Web Series have taken the world by storm and slowly and gradually they have started to make their way into the Pakistan Industry.

Yasir Hussain who has made name for himself in the field of acting in television shows and even writing for some is now trying his luck in web series. The web-series will be titled ‘Kaala Bichoo’ and will be highlighting the issue of illegal drugs, smuggling and selling black scorpions as well as other similar social evils in our society.

Yasir Hussain's Web Series with Amna Ilyas and Bilawal Abbasi

Bilawal Abbasi is the director of this web-series as well as the writer of the script and we expect him to not only raise awareness among people but only shed light on the delicate issues.

In an interview with a local media agency, Yasir Hussain shared that the plot of the story revolves around 3 friends and a girl (Amna Ilyas) who go about searching for ‘kaala bichoo’ in the region.

Recently it was uncovered that these black scorpions in Karachi are hunted and sold for huge sums of money because of their market worth internationally. This web-series will be made keeping this discovery under-consideration.

We appreciate anyone trying to bring a positive change in Pakistan and so we wish all the cast and crew of Kaala Bicho best of luck and hope they manage to raise the awareness among the public as they plan.

Dhund Episode 1 – Right Up My Alley!

0

Last week, I chanced upon the promos of TV One’s new mystery/horror series, Dhund – written by Mohammed Ahmed, directed by Faiz , produced by Erum Binte Shahid – and it seemed right up my alley. And after watching the first episode, I am excited to see what happens next because if the first episode is anything to go by, horror buffs have something to look forward to every Saturday.

I will be a bit vague about the storyline because I think when it comes to stories that fall in this genre, it’s best to go in knowing as little as possible, and the real fun lies in exploring the story and connecting the dots yourself. We are following Maria (Maria Wasti), an interior decorator who also happens to be a medium – someone who sees visions and hears voices of the dead who have unfinished business with the living and come to her for help. Maria’s life is far from perfect: her husband and son went missing years ago, and while the police believe they are dead, she is certain that they are not. Uzair (Hassan Ahmed) is a police officer who promises to help her find her family only if she agrees to communicate with the spirit of a girl who was murdered.

We have another track involving the tormented spirit of Jahan Ara (Sana Askari) who haunts Waqas (Asad Siddiqui), a drama editor. The way this track intertwines with Maria’s is something you’d have to see for yourself.

I think this episode was incredibly well written and well directed. In the past, I have found horror dramas (like Woh Dobara) to be laughably terrible. The drama makers behind the said shows seem to think that loud background music and lame sound effects are enough to impress the viewers, but here it was refreshing to see that the background music was tastefully played. Also, the inevitable jump scares were very well done, in my opinion. The atmosphere was gloomy and eerie which suited the story. I do hope, though, that in the next episode, Maria’s visions are shown to the viewers, because in this one, she simply narrated what she saw.

I am not a big fan of Maria Wasti’s acting, but I liked her in this episode. Mohammed Ahmed plays Maria’s late grandfather, Nana Syed. Nana Syed is wise, and gives his granddaughter the one thing she needs the most: hope. I think we are going to see some really interesting and poignant conversations between the two characters. I can’t wait! Sana Askari was terrific (and terrifying) as Jahan Ara! I think she is a talented actress who sadly settles for roles that don’t have a lot of room for performance. She should opt for more characters like the one she portrayed here. Asad Siddiqui was also quite convincing. I am not too happy about Hassan Ahmed playing Uzair because I find him…I don’t know…boring? Maybe it’s the way he talks? He just doesn’t seem into the story, which is a weird thing to say, but that’s just how I feel. But to be fair, we didn’t see a lot of him in this episode so I guess I should reserve judgment.

I think each episode will deal with different cases of earthbound spirits needing closure alongside the ongoing mystery surrounding Maria and her family. If you enjoy horror shows and movies, especially the ones involving mediums (like The Sixth Sense and Ghost Whisperer), I urge you to watch the first episode of Dhund.

Did you watch this episode? Do you plan on watching it? Please do let me know. Looking forward to your comments.

Dark Beauty Amna Ilyas Joins The Cast Of ‘Saath Din Mohabbat In’

Dark Beauty Amna Ilyas Joins The Cast Of 'Saath Din Mohabbat In'

Amna Ilyas has already reached heights in her not so long career. Redefining the meaning of beauty with her dark skin, the actress with her debut flick ‘Zinda Bhaag’ almost went to Oscars. On the other hand, she is one of the luckiest actresses because of working with Sabiha Sumar in critically acclaimed ‘Good Morning Karachi’. Now, she is all set to take her career up a notch with ‘Saath Din Mohabbat In’.

The sultry and ever gorgeous model will be seen sharing the screen with Mahira Khan, Mira Sethi, and Sheheryar Munawar in the film of versatile duo, Meenu and Farjad.

Talking about why she gave the green signal to acting after a long time, she revealed:

“I basically signed the film because Meenu and Farjad are great friends of mine. I also really liked my character, it’s that of a feminist and just a very strong female character, there’s a bit of action as well. I felt there was substance in it and I really wanted to take it up.”

“It also has a lot of acting margin, I think that’s all an actor is hungry for. Also I believe if you’re a good actor, you prove yourself no matter who’s standing in front of you.”

She also said that she is very good friends with Mira Sethi, who will be seen playing a Punjabi girl in the movie. Amna has high hopes with the film and so do we, which is expected to wrap up shooting by September this year.

Playing the supporting role, albeit a powerful one, has made Hira hopeful about the film and her future. Talking about movie and Asim Abbasi, she revealed:

“Cake is like Asim’s cute, personalized project and I was fortunate enough to land a role in the film.”

“I can’t reveal too much about the character I play but I’ll talk a little about the premise of the movie. I think in Pakistan and everywhere else too, the most important thing for a person is their family. Cake is a drama about family values and I’m certain everyone’s going to love it.”

Praising her co-stars, Hussain said:

“Everyone brings something unique and exciting to the table. Not only has this been a great platform for me but also a tremendous learning opportunity. Shooting with this bunch was so memorable, it just felt like a close-knit family.”

Cake is a family drama, and stars known faces like Sanam Saeed and Aamina Sheikh, playing the lead. It has majorly been shot in some parts of Sindh, Karachi and London.

Meera Misunderstands Poetry As Grammar Book, Writer Lashes Out

Meera Misunderstands Poetry As Grammar Book, Writer Lashes Out

Meera Jee has come under the wrath once again. The actress famous for taking on the fire has yet again become the centre attention and negative publicity. She recently promoted a book in a way that it turned out to be completely disastrous.

Meera’s picture holding a book with a caption motivating fans to improve English has been making rounds on social media. The controversial actress stated that her fans should read the book written by her “friend”. You might be thinking; so what’s wrong in promoting a friend? Right? Well, with Meera, everything has a twist to it.

The book that the Pakistani film actress had been holding goes by the name of “Democracy Is The Best Revenge,” which clearly means that it in no way is teaching grammar. Backlash much?

On the other hand, the author of the book – A.K. Rasheed – while talking to local news channel requested Meera to not misled readers. He further lashed out that he never had any introduction with the actress so he can’t be her friend at any cost.

Tch Tch Meera Ji, your step towards right couldn’t have been more wrong.

Faisal Qureshi’s Response to Fat Shaming

People come in all shapes and sizes. The human body has a tremendous capacity for variation, which is why everyone looks different. Having said that, some people are average, some very thin and some obese. But at the end of the day, it is their body, their looks. We don’t get a say. However, our society completely ignores that and considers it their social responsibility to pass remarks when they see someone they don’t consider “average” physically. You can’t go five minutes these days without everybody chiming in on body acceptance, fat-shaming, or just expressing their opinion about what a human body should look like. Faisal Qureshi had a guest on his morning show who was overweight. She informed him of the remarks that are passed her way because of her weight and here’s what how Faisal responded:

Verna Is Going To Be Darker!

Shoaib Mansoor’s last two films were dark and were blockbusters too. Now he is coming back with Verna starring Mahira Khan, Haroon Shahid and Zarrar Khan. The film is based on the life of a rape survivor. But new insights have come into light.

Verna Is Going To Be Darker!

Instep reported that Mahira took a lot of time in saying yes to the film and first runner up for the role was Kubra Khan. But finally Mahira Khan signed the film. This movie according to Instep is the boldest and darkest movie by Shoaib Mansoor till date. Mahira plays the role of a school teacher who gets raped by a politician’s son which leads her to depression and causes issues in her marital life. The incident is followed by an intense courtroom drama which will be first of its kind in the history of Pakistani cinema. Rasheed Naz who played the role of Maulana in Shoaib’s Khuda ke Liye will play the role of lawyer. This role was previously offered to Manzar Sehbai who couldn’t do it due to his prior commitments. The film is shot in Islamabad and is ready to be released but no dates have been announced yet. We are totally looking forward to this one!

Yalghaar Ending In Shambles!

Yalghaar is the most expensive Pakistani movie till date. The movie released in 8 languages in 60 countries. The film had a high profile cast, highly covered promotions and consequently high expectations were linked with the film. But Yalghaar is now in its third week and it has only proved to be a disappointment.

Yalghaar Ending In Shambles!

According to box office details, Eveready Pictures bought Yalghaar at a record price, but unfortunately, the film hasn’t been able to recover even the distributor’s investments. So far the breakdown for Yalghaar’s revenue is as follows:

Week One (11 Days): 13.75 Cr

Week Two: Approx 1.9 Cr

3rd Weekend: Approx 30 lacs

Total: 15.95 Cr

As it seems, the film will close around approximately 17 Crore, because the numbers are not increasing and the film is about to be put down from screens in cinemas around the country. The film has been an equal disaster in the overseas market as well. Check out the figures:

USA: 66 lacs

UK: 60 lacs

Norway: 5 lacs

Australia: 15 lacs

UAE: Approx 1.25 Cr

It is expected the film will close below the 3 Crore mark in international markets, which is rather disappointing considering Yalghaar was the biggest film to come out of Pakistani cinema this year.

With such high expectations and budget the film actually ended up in a ditch which is not a good news for Pakistani film industry.

Maybelline New York, a major American cosmetic brand sold worldwide unveiled their new slogan “Make It Happen” back in 2016. The slogan was a stance to inspire all strong women of the world who are unique, audacious and express their beauty in their own way.

Sana Mir Most Likely To Lose Captaincy And Her Place In The Pakistan Women Cricket Team

Captain of Pakistan women cricket team who has also recently completed her 100 ODIs, Sana Mir, is most likely to lose her captaincy soon. The basis of this unannounced decision of the board is her unsatisfactory performance as a captain during the World Cup. There is also a chance that Sana, the most experienced cricketer will also lose her place in the cricket team.

A source in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) told local newspaper on Monday:

“As per my information, Sana will lose both captaincy and her place in the team. Bismah will be handed over reigns of team’s stewardship. She is a seasoned player and over the years has evolved into a dependable player.”

Bismah is the Pakistan’s second-most experienced player in ODIs after Sana. She was replaced by an allrounder Iram Javed during the Women’s World Cup early in the tournament due to a hand injury in a match against England.

After the seventh straight defeat in Women’s Cricket World Cup, the Pakistani team returned to the country on Monday. The board being unhappy with the team’s performance, is likely to take a decision against Sana Mir next week.

There is also a news that women team’s coach Sabih Azhar will also lose his job since the team has failed to impress during his tenure. The sources from PCB have also reported that:

“The team displayed a poor show in all the areas under him. He was not appointed coach on permanent basis. And during his short stint with the team he failed to impress,”

We wish all the decisions to be made by the Pakistan Cricket Board is for the betterment of our team.

Ajay Devgan Finally Admits Pakistan has Talent

Remember the time when Ajay fully supported the ban on Pakistani artists from Bollywood and claimed that he would never work with one? This was the time when his film ‘Shivaay’ was clashing with ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, a Fawad Khan starrer. Girls in India go gaga over this handsome man so a film starring the heartthrob of both India and Pakistan clearly had a lot of chances to become a super hit and destroy any other film releasing along with it.

Ajay Devgan is taking his words back as his next film Baadshaho has the song, ‘Mere Rashke Qamar’ a song that was originally sung by the legend, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The reprise has now been vocalized by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Both of them are Pakistanis, as Mr.Ajay is well aware. So what happened to not working with any Pakistani ? What happened to his support of the ban on Pakistani stars working in Bollywood?

Many would call this as hypocrisy. Regardless, we should be happy that he has finally accepted that Pakistani singers have a lot of talent to offer. Nothing is better than proving someone wrong with your work!

Do you hear the soulful voices of our singers?

These Pictures Prove That Wasim Akram Is A Fitness Pro

Wasim Akram is a fitness pro and we already know that. Even after years and years of leaving cricket, this man couldn’t stop himself from hitting the gym. And his recent pictures are a prove that he is no less than a film star when it comes to his looks and chiseled frame.

Though he is in vacations in Bali, the star is still pumping all the iron he can to fit in the persona people still drool on. His wife, Shaniera Akram, recently shared the picture that is making rounds on social media:

See the hard work that he is putting in? His motivation to stay fit is simply outstanding, as very few know that he is a diabetic patient. But, has a disease ever stop a sportsman from outshining in fitness?

Previously, Mrs Akram had also shared a picture in which Mr Akram was seen after another hard day at gym:

No matter how old they get, legends always remain legends. Wasim Akram with his honed body and charisma has definitely proved it.

Bollywood Claims That Sadaf Kanwal Is Better Than Mahira & Saba

Sadaf Kanwal recently became a part of news in Pakistani entertainment fraternity after the sneak peak of her item song ‘Kaif O Suroor’ of Na Maloom Afrad went viral. Not only did she managed to flutter our hearts, but the proud actress has also made it across the border.

After seeing the trailer, an Indian publication ‘The Indian Express’ couldn’t resist and claimed that Kanwal is an “enchantress”. It even went on to say that it is about time the nation get over Mahira Khan and Saba Qamar’s beauty and talent. Don’t believe us? See for yourself:

Bollywood Claims That Sadaf Kanwal Is Better Than Mahira & Saba

What we were saying since a long time; India has finally realized it too. Claiming that Sadaf is a seductress and has melted everyone’s hearts, Indian media is giving a lot of attention and limelight to our beauty.

Seems that Sadaf Kanwal would be the next one to go across the border and work in a movie. Till then, let her enjoy the fame and desire that she has been getting from the neighbours.

Yeh Raha Dil Episode 22 – & He’s Back!

Ohkay so, even though the star of the show is back, yes I am talking about the DJ but I will get to him later because first I have a lot of praising to do. I remember one of the commenters said that every 3rd episode of Yeh Raha Dil happens to be amazing & I think this time around I’ll have to agree with that notion because after 2 below average episodes, this one was perfect in every sense. I couldn’t stop smiling throughout this episode because the subtle, situational comedy was a part of it & after boring 2 episodes, to hear such witty & amusing dialogues did make me feel that this episode in particular was written by Mustafa Afridi again. Also, even the scenes which were emotional were executed perfectly that I couldn’t help feel for the characters. This episode, like all the other episodes of Yeh Raha Dil (previous 2 excluded) had all the flavors, some comedy, some serious talks, some emotions & for that reason, I loved it!

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed all the conversations that took place in this episode. Hayat tried to get to the crux of the situation & wanted to understand what was happening between Affaq & Fatima. Even though by the end of the previous episode I was annoyed by Hayat & didn’t like her approach where she tried to talk to Fatima about her personal life but this time around, I liked that she didn’t mind getting slapped & also in stead of speaking to Fatima, she finally spoke to her father to know what was wrong.

Fatima & Affaq’s conversation was written brilliantly as well but what I enjoyed more was the fact that the director didn’t give away everything just yet. Also, for now the writer very intelligently shifted our focus on Fatima & Affaq’s issues & forced us to do some thinking & assume things as to who stands wrong in this relationship. As far as I could comprehend, Fatima has misconstrued something & she is adamant on the fact that Affaq has cheated on her & may be only to get back at him, she got involved with someone else too. The focus on how Affaq believes in staying quiet & not giving explanations was another fact that was highlighted intelligently, because it showed that this trait of Affaq is literally ruining his relationship & he is not going to change himself to make things work. The way Affaq spoke to Hayat went to show that he was hurt that Fatima mistrusted him & assumed that he could cheat on her & because of that, he allowed her to think on those lines without saying anything to prove her wrong.

I think it was quite interesting that both Fatima & Hayat didn’t hold any grudges against each other & in fact, Hayat tried to take this entire matter in her hands because she believes in herself & feels she can fix everything, which I by the way am interested to see. I think this is something that will change Nida’s attitude & perspective towards Hayat. I believe this entire aspect has been added by the writer to bring Nida to that point where she will start seeing Hayat’s niceness & will regret doubting her & her intentions, because no matter how selfish one gets, if someone fixes something so important like their parents’ relationship, nothing else matters anymore. I am sure when Nida will see Affaq & Fatima back together that too because of Hayat, she will realize her mistakes & will give up on the hatred that she has for Hayat too.

Another surprising factor was that it was Hayat who chose to console Fatima when she broke down & not only that, she decided to confront her father for her sake. Where Nida was only bothered about herself & her face saving, Hayat was being considerate about her step mother more. The way the difference between Nida & Hayat’s mentality & perspective was shown was brilliant where Nida thought her father hated Fatima & Hayat could see how much he loved her. Hayat has finally understood her father & she can see that he is hurt & that is why, now she’d do everything to make both Affaq & Fatima fall back in love with each other again, which I think is very sweet. Oh well Mr. Mike, you have no idea that Hayat is chasing after you & she will make sure to throw you out of Fatima’s life, so get ready for some fireworks!

At the moment, I am expecting more from Zaki, like I know he is subtly playing his game only to make Hayat realize her mistakes too but then, something more. It was good that Zaki & Hayat had an interaction in this episode & I guess it was more than enough, for now at least. I enjoyed the conversation that took place between Affaq & his friend/Hayat’s Principal as well, like they were two very good & old friends who were teasing each other & finding humor in their interaction, that entire scene was acted out nicely as well. So, Hassan finally met Affaq & even though Affaq seemed impressed, Hassan left a certain kind of impression on him too. I lol’ed at how even Affaq couldn’t believe that Hayat would choose someone like Hassan for himself but then Zaki distracted him immediately & told him that Hassan’s the one!

For the first time I didn’t mind Hassan’s presence in this episode because it was compensated with other important aspects & characters that I found it alright that he got some coverage. I enjoyed his & Jimmy’s interactions as well where Hassan wanted to make Hayat’s birthday ‘isspecial’ & Jimmy showed him the real picture as to how much that ‘isspecial’ birthday would cost him, lol! So, Hayat was sent to the venue that Hassan & Jimmy chose & I think Jimmy did a huge favor to Hassan & to us all by sending the best DJ in town to steal the show again. I couldn’t stop laughing at his antics & I liked the fact that the DJ had some dialogues this time around as well where he got a chance to explain how he’s a master of his trade & how he’d help Hassan with his proposal as well. I wish I could’ve enjoyed his dancing a bit more but the episode ended but I am most certainly looking forward to his ‘isspecial’ geet that he’ll sing during Hayat’s entry. I say Isspecial thanks so much Ehtashamuddin by making the viewers of Yeh Raha Dil laugh out loud. You once again stole the show!

Overall, I loved this episode of Yeh Raha Dil, like it just made me happy. If this keeps up, I don’t mind seeing a lot more episodes of this drama as well but I think they are now headed towards the ending but with the right approach. I can’t wait to see Hayat & Zaki’s confrontation too & also, Haroon is going to make an appearance so yes, I am actually quite excited for the next episode. Ehtashaamuddin of course & then Adnan Jaffar definitely stole the show in this episode. It is amusing how comfortable Jimmy gets with everyone around him, like Hassan was quite skeptical but Jimmy acted all friendly with him to let him know that he is rooting for him & Hayat as well. I love how Anum Goher & Ayesha Sana have commonality when it comes to overall styling & personality, like both Fatima & Nida are always well put together, blingy & well-dressed, like they scream mother daughter duo to me. For the first time I enjoyed others performances more than Yumna Zaidi’s but that doesn’t mean she didn’t do her bit well. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Yeh Raha Dil.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Edited to add: I missed the first minute of the episode as I was tuning to the live streaming, so I missed the fact that the confrontation between Hayat & Fatima was just an imagination of Hayat & it didn’t actually happen. Now that I watched the episode again after it has uploaded, I realized that the confrontation between Hayat & Fatima didn’t take place. Kindly, ignore the mistake. :)

“Geo Sir Utha Kay” Releases A Very Cheap Item Song

“Geo Sir Utha Kay” is a film under the banner of Cheema Films and is introduced as an action thriller based on the life of Chotu Gang of Rajanpur. The movie’s item song was marketed as the item song of the year. This is the movie’s official poster.

"Geo Sir Utha Kay" Releases A Very Cheap Item Song

The cast of Geo sir Utha Kay includes  Babar Ali, Umar Cheema, Yasir Khan, Naeem Khan, Areeba Khan, Shafqat Cheema, Nayyer Ijaz, Ahmad Qaynaat, Rana Rashid Mehmood Arshad and debutante Shehryar Khan as the lead actor.

They have just released their item song Daku Rani‘s teaser and you will wonder what is this cheap piece of entertainment? It is quite vulgar with Mahnoor wearing quite an obscene dress and Nayyer Ijaz and Shafqat Cheema ogling her, while she is doing the same with Babar Ali, who seems disinterested in the whole fireworks and pole dancing by her.

Have a look at what is apparently an amalgam of bits and pieces from various item songs of Bollywood and then thrown together in a very uncoordinated way;

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=x__GczOoBo4

Their is fire erupting out of nowhere, poles keep appearing like univited probes, the girl is skimpily dressed and her moves are very cheap.

The movie is set to release on 11th of August, so lets see how that comes across. Better than this, we hope…
