Ohkay so, this episode of Prem Gali showed the problems a couple faces when so many people around don’t hold back in voicing their opinions. It was one misunderstanding after another & it was brilliantly shown by the writer how easy it is for the simplest of matters to get complicated because people feel entitled to put their thoughts across, even in the matters that do not concern them. After watching this episode, I felt that the residents of Prem Gali might stand divided but it seems they all will join hands against Chaudhry & Sons. It is obvious that Hamza & Joya won’t get married just so easily, therefore we should expect a lot more drama before that happens.
Proposal & The Aftermath
In this episode, what I found interesting was that although the neighbors thought they were coming from a good place, a place of concern for both Joya & Hamza, their thinking & perspective, on the whole, wasn’t beneficial at all. It shows that after living together in one neighborhood, the lines have been blurred & people find it hard to keep their opinions to themselves. The residents of Prem Gali run high on emotions & feel passionate about almost everything, this is why they took it to their hearts to make sure that Joya & Hamza do not get married.
I absolutely enjoyed how Rahat pitched in the idea of Hamza in Shireen’s mind. I really didn’t think that Shireen would settle for this proposal just so easily, considering how picky she has been but she absolutely didn’t have any objections with Hamza. I am pretty sure there’s more to it, this is exactly why the writer has started a conversation about how parents see their daughters as ‘bojh’. The way Shireen is being hasty & restless goes to show that she really wants to get over with this responsibility she feels burdened with. However, it seems as the time will progress, she will start second-guessing herself & will realize that getting her daughter married for the wrong reasons is not the wise decision that she is making. I feel all the problems that the neighbors are creating are going to serve as an eye-opener for Shireen as well because it will force her to think things through & probably change her approach towards Joya’s marriage.
It is interesting how all the men of Chaudry & son’s feel so passionately about one thing or the other. They all have strong opinions & at times think one-dimensionally about what they come across. Luqman is adamant that he would not let any girl get married if he feels she is in love with someone else. Previously it was Fari & now he felt the same way about Joya. He wasn’t wrong in his assumption though & he actually read her body language accurately that she actually was involved with someone, this is why she would feel shy seeing her beloved’s messages on the phone. Hatim on the other hand feels passionately about finances & can’t stop finding ways of cutting the corners. Their father loves going with the flow & because he is so bored, he can not wait for some adventures, some break, some bring change in his life, this is why he gets excited thinking about Hamza’s wedding.
Throughout this episode, Hamza’s eagerness & efforts were worth noticing & thoroughly entertaining. He can’t wait to get married to Joya but he understands that he has to put up an act to prevent himself from facing complications. I also like how despite all of them not wanting to, things become so chaotic in the all-boys house. They all end up fighting over petty issues & things blow out of proportion. It is also mean but amusing how Hatim & his father have literally made a joke out of Luqman’s emotional trauma & the fact that his wife passed away. Those one-liners are actually quite funny.
Joya was excited & Sohai Ali Abro showcased the emotional state of Joya beautifully. In this episode, I can actually say that I liked seeing Sohai as Joya because she was absolutely cute. She also couldn’t wait to get engaged to Hamza but deep down, couldn’t help feeling anxious. She even became overwhelmed with emotions when she saw how cautious her mother was, but then immediately backtracked because she figured out that there was another issue that her mother was concerned about. It was like a rollercoaster ride of emotions that both Joya & Hamza were going through but on the surface, they knew they had to carry a facade so that no one can find out the truth. Their antics & all the energies that they invested in devising this plan with the help of Rahat was so enjoyable to see.
Fun Episode
This episode of Prem Gali was yet another favorite episode of mine. I thoroughly enjoyed all the conversations that took place. Also, the collaboration of a Punjabi & Urdu speaking family, their concerns about each other’s vocabularies & mannerisms, it was beautifully tackled by Faiza Iftikhar. It also showed how each & every setup, background & culture has its own beauty & richness that leaves an impact in their lives. The Punjabi Chaudhry & Sons couldn’t really do much about the Punjabi-ness they embodied & the Urdu speaking family of Shireen couldn’t help but feel offended at some of the words used wrongly for them. In the end, all the things that Rahat said about how none of it actually mattered were beautiful, because it’s the emotion of love & respect that keeps one happy.
In this episode, all the actors and the supporting cast played their roles to perfection, however, I personally loved the performances of Sohai Ali Abro & Farhan Saeed. Waseem Abbas, Abdullah Farhat & Saba Hameed were natural too. Shamim Hilali’s sass as Rahat & Qavi Khan’s energy is entertaining to watch. Definitely looking forward to the next episode. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Prem Gali.

Yesterday, a shocking rather painful incident took place in Lahore. Where one of the biggest IT Hubs of the country Hafeez Center caught the fire.
Whole plaza got burnt relentlessly. Electronics comprising hundreds of millions worth got destroyed. The fire razed down 40% of the plaza resulting the massive economical loss of the business men. No causality has been reported, fortunately.
According to the sources, the businessmen whose shops were burning were trying to save their investments, and many salesmen were crying there looking at their fire burning their life investment recklessly.
On such horrific occasion, where everyone’s heart was jotting at the loss of hundreds of people, an Instagram influencer did something that no one could even imagine.
Fatima Nasir who is an Instagram Influencer, shared a few pictures on her Instagram in which she was standing at the the Hafeez Center that faced severe fire and she was seen chilling and all smiling. People are shocked at the insensitivity of this girl. Let’s have a look at the p[pictures shared by Fatima Nasir.
People are bashing this girl badly for being this much insensitivity. Here we have garnered a few public comments. Let’s have a look:
The role of Alangoya or Almıla Hatun was played by Gonul Nagiyeva in the popular Turkish TV series “Dirilis: Ertugrul”.
The actress portrayed a Mangol warrior and the sister of Noyan in the fourth season of the TV series which is being aired on Pakistan’s state-run TV on the directives of the prime minister.
t was thrilling for Konul to get to play Alangoya, the fierce Mongolian warrior scheming in opposition to the righteous Ertugrul. She didn’t know that two years later, lengthy after Alangoya had been punished for her evil scheming and Dirilis: Ertugrul had wrapped up altogether, the character she performed would as soon as once more get seen, this time in Pakistan.
“My agent called me and asked me if I knew that people were searching my name in Pakistan,” Konul recounts.
“I used to be stunned. Why would they be looking my identify there? Then, I used to be advised that it was as a result of they have been all fascinated with the Dirilis: Ertugrul sequence.”
“I have never been very active on social media and even then, so many Pakistanis have been taking out the time to write their comments to me, on Instagram,” Konul reveals. “I can solely think about the best way the opposite actors, who performed the principle leads in Ertugrul and are energetic on Instagram, have to be experiencing their newfound Pakistani recognition.”
Does Konul, additionally, hope to go to Pakistan sometime?
“I would love to,” she says. “Earlier, my knowledge of Pakistan was restricted to what I knew from Wikipedia; that Pakistan and Azerbaijan supported each other, the capital was Islamabad and the languages spoken were Urdu and English. Now, however, I want to know so much more about this country.”
She continues, “I also want to thank the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan for the support that he has been extending to my country Azerbaijan. I am generally someone who doesn’t pay attention to politics but the ongoing war in the Nagorno-Karabakh region is very painful and I am hoping that we get justice soon. I am not someone who likes war but there are times when there is so much injustice that there can’t be any peace.”
Drawing comparisons between herself and Alangoya, she elaborates, “I was about seven or eight when the first war started over Nagorno-Karabakh. My father and grandfather were both military men and I remember constantly waiting for my father and wondering if he would return back home or not, whether he was alive or dead? Ever since then, I have hated waiting.”
“At that young age, I hated how the Armenians were massacring my people. But we can either to choose live in a state of war or to make peace and I have always preferred to be peaceful. Alangoya, on the other hand, chose war. I don’t know what her childhood was like. This transition from the way I am to the arcs that define my character was very interesting for me.”
However did she take pleasure in taking part in an outright villainous character like Alangoya? “Yes, I loved how bad she was!” Konul laughs. “There were so many shades to her and she truly believed in her mission.”
Recalling her favorite characters from the drama, Konul continues, “It would have to be Nolan because of how bad he was!” she grins, naming one other one among Ertugrul’s adversaries.
“Among the good characters, of course Engin was amazing as Ertugrul. Also, Esra as Halime is exceptional. She is a very beautiful girl and when she was Halime, I could almost feel as if I could see the truth in her eyes.”
How did she find yourself appearing in Ertugrul? “I auditioned and my manager called me that I had been selected for the role but I just had two days to prepare for it,” says Konul.
“I used to be stunned however I knew that I may do it as a result of through the years, I’ve constructed my appearing repertoire by getting coaching in numerous abilities, like combating and horse-riding. It was an enormous honor to be chosen for such a serious challenge. Dirilis: Ertugrul was massively profitable in Turkey and had gotten excessive scores ever because the very first season.”
“Once I was on set, I had nothing to worry about. The team was extremely professional and all I had to do was act.”
Describing the colossal Ertugrul capturing space, she continues, “It was a huge set, with a lot of attention being given to details. We would shoot out in forests or an entire area would be created for a scene.”
“One of my favorite scenes is when Noyan comes back and the shamanic are dancing. I remember that on that particular day, I had been shooting a long scene in the forest and then, at night-fall, we started working on this dancing scene. All through the night till 5 a.m. we were dancing and trying to get the scene right. But no one complained because we all believed in the project and knew that we were creating something very artistic. When the final scene did come on screen, it was magical with all these Mongolian warriors praying to their gods and spirits.”
Did she ever anticipate Dirilis: Ertugrul to change into such a success outdoors of Turkey? “Actually, no, but I can understand why so many people love it,” smiles Konul. “In Muslim countries, people can connect with it on a religious and cultural level. Ertugrul is a hero unique to the Islamic religion and I think that people feel a love for him.”
“If I could meet the real Ertugrul, I would have so much to ask him. It’s because I feel a certain sense of ownership towards him,” she smiles.
The identical sense of possession is felt, all over the world, in direction of the present Dirilis: Ertugrul.
“It would be wonderful to visit a country where I have been given love and a show that I have worked in is being appreciated so much,” smiles Konul.
Gora Complex is indeed one of the biggest malady that our society is infected with. People are ready to do any harm to their skin just to look fair. They’d use whitening creams with harmful chemicals in it, go through different facial procedures with adverse effects on skin. Whitening injections are the most common whitening treatment that most of the people now a days under go. All this hassle just because our society is not ready to accept dark skinned girls.
Zoya Nazir who is a makeup artist and an actresses in her recent podcast with Shahveer Jafry revealed the difficulties and discriminations she faced in industry due to her brown complexion.
“The thing is channel chase white girls because of our people they want white girls. At one place they asks to stop the endorsements of whitening creams and on the other hand you don’t like black and fat girls on screen. After that when you bring white and slim girls on screen you call them plastic beauty” said Zoya
“Companies need ratings and they know when they bring a white and slim girl whether she knows acting or not she is liked the most. There are many dark skinned girls who proved their mantle” Zoya explained further
“I signed a few projects, I were very tanned after Turkey Trip. I went to the company to re-sign it. They asked me what I have done to me? Why have you become so tan? and they suggested me to get whitening injections done” revealed Zoya

There are some scenes in Pakistani dramas that are repeated. These scenes and scenarios are usually used to take the story forward in a different direction. The similarities between these scenes are laughable at times because it shows the lack of creativity on the part of these drama makers. Some of these scenes also show a lack of sensitivity in some cases. These scenes can also easily be termed as convenient screenplay since these are tried and tested formulas that bring a major change in the plotline. In the recent dramas, we have been seeing certain trends. These similar scenes also represent such trends in dramas.
Here are some scenes from Pakistani dramas that are too similar.
Smart Phones to Create Misunderstandings
The makers of smartphones probably never thought of the ways these writers were going to misuse the technology. In every other drama, the negative character is shown making a video of the heroine to get her into trouble. Most often this video is used to create a misunderstanding and as proof of the infidelity of the wife who is actually doing nothing wrong. Such false accusations have recently caused the biggest and most bitter misunderstandings between the main leads. The formula is simple, it requires a smartphone, a negative character whose sole purpose in life is to get the person being recorded into trouble, and of course a man who does not trust his wife enough! Interestingly enough, this technology has not been used as often in dramas for good purposes, like catching the actual culprits!
Sabaat
Since Sabaat has every clichéd scenario in the book, it is no surprise that a scene from this drama is on this list. Atif managed to get ‘evidence’ of Anaya’s unfaithfulness while her boss helped her down the stairs since he was unwell. He recorded everything, showed it to her husband who was waiting for a reason to lash out at Anaya and that is how they were separated right till the second last episode of the drama. Misunderstandings now are backed by video recording in Pakistani dramas so that there is even more reason for these useless husbands to doubt their wives.
Tera Ghum Aur Hum
Tera Ghum Aur Hum is another drama that unfortunately has gone downhill. The writer is using every trick in the book to entice the viewers therefore this trick was also used to create a scenario similar to the others mentioned in the article. Sara records Mahi and her cousin in a situation that wouldn’t have been acceptable for Mahi’s husband Ali who also happens to be Sara’s cousin! This is another similar scene in which a negative character records the innocent wife doing something which will create a rift between the husband and wife.
Nand
In drama serial Nand, Goher recorded Farwa and Shahzaib in a situation that would lead to her husband eventually doubting her. Initially, her husband does not believe Goher but chooses to believe his wife. Gradually, however, this recording plays a major role in creating the misunderstandings between the couple and the effect of the recording was the same as all the other.
Negative Characters Going Insane
Pakistani dramas rely heavily on the negativity of the characters to ‘entertain’ the viewers. After showing this negativity from the beginning to the end, the most convenient way for the writers to end the story is to show that such characters lose their senses in the end. Instead of showing gradual and growth and changes, such endings are used as a quick punishment. The viewers find such endings frustrating to watch and the scenes showing such endings are all the same.
Titli
It can be safely stated that Titli was the first drama that started this trend. Naila was shown suffering in the last few episodes which led to this ending. The situation was shown repeatedly in other dramas also particularly with female characters who were either, greedy, materialistic, or shallow. This is the last scene of this final episode. Since this was the first time the viewers saw such an ending, they liked it. But now the trend has become too common!
https://youtu.be/uHDhLTbIovA?t=2045
Jhooti
Jhooti’s main lead Nirma stayed negative right till the end until everyone disowned her and she had no place to go. The man responsible for bringing her to this point once again faced no redemption but Nirma paid the price when she lost her senses. By giving such endings to these characters, the writers seem to force people to feel for them, which is not the best way to end such stories. There weren’t even any last conversations in most such scenes so this was the most convenient way to end the drama.
Balaa
Balaa was yet another drama serial in which the last scene was too similar to the scenes in other such dramas. After showing how insensitive and evil Nigar could get starting from the first episode right till the last one, the writer ended her track the same way many others did! Do you see how similar this scene is to all the others? These scenes sent out the wrong message about all those people who are actually in mental asylum fighting serious mental disorders.
Divorces Out of Rage
Unfortunately, Pakistani writers often sensationalize a sensitive issue such as divorce. Very often in dramas, we get to watch scenes in which men divorce their wives suddenly. Although these situations are different, sometimes the reasons are different too but the scenes are almost always the same. The background score and the overall atmosphere sensationalizes these scenes. All these divorce scenes have a lot in common especially since the way they have been shot is the same.
Meherposh
Meherposh definitely crossed all the limits of decency when it showed a man divorcing his wife on the night of their wedding. This scene involved mistrust, anger, and manhandling of the woman just like all such scenes.
Jalan
Jalan’s divorce scene was sensationalized to the extreme too. Asfandyar divorces his wife and he also pushes her around just like the husband in Mehrposh. This was one of the most unpleasant divorces we have seen in Pakistani drama, although the competition is tough, unfortunately!
Nand
Nand is another drama which showed a similar scene and it won’t be wrong to say that as far as such scenes go, this one was also the most overdramatic one. The background score, the reactions, and the overall feel of this scene are not different from all the others.
Can you think of any other scenes in Pakistani dramas that were a little too similar? Share your views.
Social media has brought people together. It is only with the help of social media that the once distant and out-of-reach celebrities have now connected with the fans more than ever. Its widespread usage has made the celebrities understand that it is very important to have a healthy relationship with the fans and this is the reason, more and more stars are now getting comfortable with the idea of taking their fans, followers, and supporters along the journey of their lives. They now make a special effort when it comes to communicating with the fans because they understand that their supporters and well-wishers are emotionally invested in them and like to be acknowledged.
It is understandable that the usage of social media has blurred a lot of lines. This is exactly why it relies heavily upon the users of social media to draw a line. In this day and age, where it is a norm to share everything and put it out for the world to see, there are a few celebrities who make a conscious effort of keeping their relationships and personal life absolutely private. This goes to show that there are certain Pakistani celebrities who have a different approach when it comes to what they want to share with their fans and what is it that they want to keep absolutely private. This also sets certain boundaries and the supporters of those celebrities know that they can not invade the privacy of their favorite stars.
It is unfortunate but at this point, anything that is put on the social media is judged and is under constant scrutiny, therefore it shows that certain celebrities want to save themselves the hassle and they are not comfortable with the idea of sharing everything openly. This is the reason when such celebrities share anything related to their personal lives, it is well received by their fans and they cherish those moments even more.
Here are the few Pakistani celebrities who keep their marital and personal lives private:
Ahad Raza Mir
It is a fact that ever since the news of Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly’s courtship was made public, people loved seeing them together. Be it their work-related appearances or mutual projects, their fans have always showered them with a lot of love. This is the reason when the couple got married, their fans assumed that they’d get to see more of Sahad together, however it didn’t turn out to be that way.
Right from the beginning of their marriage, Ahad Raza Mir kept his personal and marital life strictly private. He shared limited pictures on social media only to make his fans a part of the special moment of his life but other than that, there has been no activity on his social media which would show what the newlyweds are up to or where they have been. Although the hype about the new couple has settled, it has also made it clear to the public that Ahad Raza Mir likes his privacy and wants it respected. However, once in a blue moon when people get to see a picture of Ahad Raza Mir and his wife Sajal Aly on social media, they extend love and well wishes to them.
Sajal Aly
Before the marriage, Sajal Aly was still comfortable with the idea of sharing a few pictures of herself and Ahad Raza Mir every now and then on her social media handle. After Sajal Aly’s marriage to Ahad Raza Mir, she too has become quite conscious and makes a special effort to stay low-profile and not share much. After her wedding, Sajal Aly has shared a lot of throwback pictures, which goes to show that she doesn’t want the connection with her fans lost and is making a conscious effort of putting a message across that nothing has changed and her fans should see her as an individual.
Sajal Aly has shared a very few pictures of her wedding which the fans have loved to see. Although, very rarely, Sajal does communicate with her husband through social media but not as much as her fans would love. It is good to know that both Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir have set the boundaries right from the beginning and don’t want much attention or hype related to their relationship post marriage.
Zahid Ahmed
Zahid Ahmed is also very conscious about what he shares on social media related to his personal life. Although every now and then he does post a few pictures with his wife and two beautiful sons, that’s all where it ends. He makes his family a part of his social media activity on special occasions such as Eids or their birthdays but other than that, his social media activity is purely related to his career and professional work. Zahid Ahmed’s fans get to see more of his colleagues on his social media feed than his family, which shows that it is perfectly alright for the stars to draw a line and not put everything out on social media to be scrutinized by the people.
Imran Ashraf Awan
Imran Ashraf Awan has been a part of the industry for years now. He has worked his way up and is now at this stage where his fandom expands on a daily basis. Imran Ashraf Awan is one of those few celebrities who makes an effort to connect with his fans, this is the reason his replies and comments almost on a daily basis are appreciated and acknowledged. Imran Ashraf Awan always has words of wisdom to share and has shown the world that fame doesn’t take away the humbleness and humility you have instilled in you.
However, Imran Ashraf is also one of those celebrities who has never been comfortable with the idea of putting his personal life on social media display for the world to see. This is the reason for the longest time, he did not show the face of his baby boy to the world but then upon his permission, Humayun Saeed shared the picture of his son Roham and shared how Imran Ashraf had made a promise that he will allow him to do the honors. Now at this stage, seeing the love he has garnered over the years, he does share a thing or two related to his wife but his social media feed is still mostly about his career choices and professional work.
Azfar Rehman
Azfar Rehman has been very social and a part of different celebrity groups, this is the reason he was always seen hanging out with his friends attending the parties hosted by them on different occasions. He has been friends with almost all the celebrities and has a few best friends who have been with him for years. Azfar Rehman got married in 2017 and ever since he has kept his marital life strictly private. There have been absolutely no postings related to his wife or marital life on his social media handles. It goes to show that Azfar Rehman didn’t want any undue attention and wanted people to see him for who he was irrespective of his marital status.
Azfar Rehman’s social media activity has been mostly about his travels and co-actors whom he has worked with. He shares different brand campaigns that he works with. Recently, one of his best friends Ayesha Omar’s comment made everyone know that Azfar Rehman was now a father to a baby boy. It goes to show that in this day and age, it is perfectly possible to keep your private life away from any kind of attention if you want to.
Mohib Mirza
Mohib Mirza has been a part of the industry for years now. However, he has always stayed out of controversies and unnecessary drama that would bring undue attention to him. For Mohib Mirza, his work is his passion and he likes to keep his social media activity purely about that. However, the news of his divorce circulated and in one of the interviews, he put an end to the speculations by stating that he was not married anymore.
Mohib Mirza also spoke openly about how he feels it is absolutely unnecessary for celebrities to put everything on social media because what comes after in terms of criticism or heat is something that they are unable to deal with. Mohib Mirza strongly feels that private life should remain private because then no one finds the right to speak carelessly about your life. He also doesn’t really understand the approach most of the celebrities have where they share personal details on social media. He feels there should be a line that shouldn’t be crossed because it saves the hassle of over-explaining and people meddling into your private affairs.
Hina Altaf
Hina Altaf got married to Agha Ali during the lockdown this year and it was the wedding that no one saw coming. After Hina Altaf got married, she made it public how she and Agha became best of friends in such a short span of time and realized that they were meant to be. Hina Altaf has also kept her marital life away from social media and she rarely shares pictures of her and her husband together.
Another reason might be that after their appearance on a morning show, the couple faced a lot of backlash when Hina Altaf’s husband discussed a personal conversation they had concerning Hina’s weight. Things blew out of proportion and it definitely must’ve made her realize that it was better for her to keep her marital life away from the public eye.
Agha Ali
Agha Ali and Hina Altaf got married and in a post after his marriage, he explained the reasons why he chose to get married to Hina. The couple received a lot of blessings and well wishes from the celebrities, fans, and supporters. Agha Ali and Hina Altaf did share a few pictures in the beginning of their marriage where they were seen having a conversation through the social media, they shared the quality time they spent with each other and also the couple pictures on Eid.
However, during their first appearance on the TV as a married couple, they got into a controversy where Agha Ali’s concerns about Hina Altaf’s weight gain were criticized heavily. The couple faced a lot of backlash and then Agha Ali also got in touch with his fans to further explain what he meant. Although he settled that matter quickly, it kind of served as an eye-opener, and ever since the couple has stayed low-key and they do not really post much on social media about each other.
Amina Sheikh
Amina Sheikh began a new phase of her life in August this year. She got married to Omar Farooqi in an intimate wedding that was held in Dubai. Amina Sheikh took it to Instagram to announce her marriage and she did it in the most beautiful manner. She shared what family meant for her and that it was a new beginning. However, that was all there to it because, after that, she has not shared anything related to her marriage at all. Amina Sheikh understands that exposing personal life on social media has its consequences, therefore it is better to save the most precious part of her life to herself. The news of Amina Sheikh’s marriage was well received by the fans and she received a lot of prayers and well wishes.
This completes the list of those Pakistani celebrities who keep their personal and marital lives strictly private. Do you appreciate this approach taken by the celebrities where they do not feel comfortable sharing their day to day and life happenings with their fans? Do you think it helps the people respect the choices made by these celebrities a lot more and also prevents them from crossing the lines and boundaries set by them? Feel free to share your opinion on this.

When I was a child I’d come home every day and at weekends we would be allowed to do music. I went to college and I did that and of course, I enjoy it very much. Its been very nice. I and Zohaib were very lucky with the success and we worked really hard but at the same time, we got reaction and appreciation, it’s very rare.”

Yashma, a name which was introduced in 2016 in the Pakistani Television industry, is now known to almost everyone because with her talent she has enhanced her fan following. Apart from the actress, she is also a model and Vj.
Her journey from being an atheist to Muslim is commendable. With time Yashma has succeeded in establishing her place in the industry without having any links in the industry.
Recently a video was shared by Yashma Gill on her Instagram account, where she is seen demanding justice for her dogs.
Yashma had adopted 2 stray dogs which had been the victim of much torture at the hands of cantonment board. They had been once before dragged by their necks with wires around them, and thrown out but still returned, them they were blindfolded and taken out , yet they came back. So I heard of this on my last trip here and I adopted them and got them vaccinated, says Yashma.
Yashma mentioned that “now I have returned on my visit to them in Lahore , and I have found out that they have been shot by cantonment board!! I am in absolute shock !! These dogs were of no harm to anyone, yet someone complained to cantonment board and they had them shot”.
Yashma is now demands justice for her dogs, and for other such dogs that have been victim to such cruel fate. Furthermore, she added “idk if the guy in the video had anything to do with the incident but his remorse and indifferent attitude and the statement “that pets are only always inside the house” boils my blood. People with such attitude in authority can’t get us anywhere with the safety of animals in future”.
Because it was Sunday so unfortunately she couldn’t get hold of all the staff in the office but she requested to get to the bottom of this and whoever is in charge of this atrocity with strays should immediately be told to act otherwise.
The debate about whether the ban on TikTok was necessary or not is still on-going. Some people argue that it was important to do so while some people say the opposite. The one thing that is clear is the fact that the user of TikTok did not take the ban in a very positive manner. One of these TikTokers is Jannat Mirza. She was the first Pakistani TikTok star to reach 10 million followers on Instagram. When PTA announced that it has banned the TikTok app, she posted a status on her social media stating that she is leaving Pakistan and moving to Japan. The reason is that Pakistan does not know how to recognize and respect talent and that she would continue her TikTok “career” in Japan. Jannat Mirza received severe backlash after her above statement. Recently, Waqar Zaka made a video reaction to TikTok videos and posted it on his Facebook and YouTube page. He also reviewed Mirza’s video, Mirza then further lashed at Waqar Zaka on her Instagram. Apparently, it feels like the ban on TikTok is the end of the world for Mirza.

Kashif Anwar, writer of Sabbat while talking about the storyline of drama mentioned that Miral’s character was based on a real character. There are many Miral living in our society. I have seen many mixtures of Miral’s charcter in real life. The character of Miral was non-fictional.
Further he added that I’ve not written Miral’s character, the character itself made the story.
Sarah Khan portrayed the character very well, she did an amazing job, says Kashif Anwar.

In the past dramas such as Tanhaiyan, Dhoop Kinaray, and Alpha Bravo Charlie were very popular in other countries for their originality and strong storyline. However, at times even our industry can’t resist copying other country’s dramas. Here is a shortlist of Pakistani dramas with an Indian plot.

Hira Salman, who is famous as Hira Mani, is a beautiful Pakistani actress who started her career by hosting a show in 2008. Pakistani dramas makers have always taken pride in showcasing the realities of life through their work. This is the reason why Pakistani dramas have sat well with the viewers because one way or the other, they end up seeing their story being reflected which makes the drama as well as the characters relatable to them. Pakistani drama industry is at this stage where the makers also acknowledge the fact that a huge responsibility lies on their shoulders because they do realize that television is one of the most powerful mediums of educating the masses as well as creating awareness. In this regard, where some of the drama writers do not really pay much heed to the fact that they should be a bit more responsible with their writing, there are a lot more drama writers who take their job very seriously and understand that the kind of work they do will eventually make an impact in the lives of those who are watching their dramas. This is the reason, at this stage, Pakistani drama viewers have become more vocal about the kind of content they expect to see and the kind of content they are not a fan of because the audience is also getting more aware of how important it is for the drama makers to use the medium of TV cautiously.
Pakistani dramas have always been popular because of the great messages and lessons they impart by showing different stories. However, in some dramas, the miseries of characters are prolonged in order to generate ratings, and in the end, the consequences are shown quickly which ends up defeating the entire purpose of the drama. In other instances, the dramas which continue to give out a lot of great messages along the way always earn a special place in the hearts of the viewers because this is the kind of story-telling that establishes the connection between the viewers and the characters of the drama.
At this point, there are a lot of dramas that are on-air right now. In this season, Pakistani drama viewers have come across some brilliantly written dramas as well as they have come across some controversial themes too. Pakistani drama writers always make the viewers believe that they are showing what happens in reality and the ugly face of the society but in all honesty, it all boils down to how the actual drama has been conceptualized because the clarity in the execution sets the tone for the viewers to grasp whatever is being shown.
Let’s take a look at the messages that have been given in the Pakistani dramas this season:
Sabaat
Drama serial Sabaat has perfectly highlighted the issues faced by the younger generation of today, especially those who step into the practical life and struggle hard to find their paths. The writer of Sabaat has skillfully shed a light on what different individuals go through and all the challenges they are faced with one after another, which either makes or breaks them. The writer has touched upon different aspects, such as mental health, financial stability, financial independence, self-assurance, and all these dimensions that are the defining factors of one’s journey.
Drama serial Sabaat did receive some criticism from the viewers when they found the flaws in the overall execution of the drama but as the story has progressed, the substance that the story of Sabaat has compelled the viewers to overlook the errors. In Sabaat, the character of Anaya is inspirational and although she has been through a lot, the writer has shown how important it is for an individual to believe in oneself. Another beautiful message that this drama has given is the importance of a healthy relationship that parents should have with their children. The writer has perfectly shown the contrast where a father has fed on the negativity in his children by literally spoiling them and then, there was Anaya’s father who has nurtured her with love and has instilled confidence in her.
The latest episode of Sabaat was probably the best one the viewers got to see so far because the way Anaya took charge of the situation and didn’t let any of it bring her down was inspiring to see. Anaya is almost on the verge of a divorce, she had just lost her father, she was also pregnant and knew that the path she was choosing meant she was going to be a single parent for the rest of her life, but none of it deterred her from bringing herself and her mother out of their problems. The writer also touched upon the fact that no matter what skill you have, if you know how to use it to your advantage, it can turn things around. This has definitely made the viewers excited to see what’s in store for Anaya and more than that, what are the decisions she is going to take for herself. It has unfortunately become a rarity to see such strong and substantial female characters in Pakistani dramas but when the viewers come across characters like Anaya, it is nothing short of a treat.
Jalan
There is absolutely no denying the fact that drama serial Jalan was written with the intent of grabbing ratings and viewership because other than that, there is nothing that can justify what has been shown in this drama. Pakistani drama viewers have seen sister rivalry before but Jalan has taken it too far. It started off showing how the younger sister Nisha always wanted what belonged to her elder sister Misha, however things turned ugly when Nisha decided she also wanted her sister’s husband.
The latest developments in the story not only left the viewers broken-hearted but also disgusted and enraged. The writer did try to shed a light on post-partum depression but it was never spoken about. The fact that it was just merely suggested wasn’t enough to justify killing the character of Misha. Misha set herself on fire and couldn’t survive the injuries. Ever since Misha had a child and got divorced, the writer did not really show any positive development in her life, rather everything deteriorated and she ended her life. It is unfortunate that the writer wasted an opportunity of turning Misha into a stronger character who could’ve fought the circumstances.
The message that drama serial Jalan has given so far is that the people with narcissistic traits are going to have everything their way and because the people around them are either too dumb or too submissive, they end up creating more opportunities for them to do whatever they feel like. Drama serial Jalan has faced a lot of well-deserved criticism but the most ironic aspect of the story is that the parents of these two sisters failed to see how grave the situation was, even before Misha got married. It was almost as if they were blind to the shortcomings of their youngest and spoiled her so much that she got used to the idea of being absolutely selfish. It is obvious that Asfand and Nisha won’t find their happy ending, but it won’t change the fact that a young girl and a new mother died because of the misery they inflicted upon her. Drama serial Jalan has no message to give to the viewers and this is the reason, it now seems like the right thing for it have gotten banned and never aired again!
Raaz e Ulfat
The viewers assumed that Raaz e Ulfat’s story was seemingly simple when the drama began but as the story progressed, it became a lot more obvious that the things that were being promoted in this drama weren’t actually ideal. Mushk’s character who came from a conservative household took the turns for the worse where she started lying to her parents and then started justifying all the things they didn’t approve of. All this while, Mushk failed to see how much her father was bending for her and how hard her parents forced themselves to accommodate her demands and change of attitude. Mushk herself failed to draw a line and when she fell into the deepest pit, she once again got a reason to hold her parents responsible.
As the drama began, Mushk was shown as a girl who was passionate about education, but that went out of the picture the moment she fell in love with her supposed Mr. Perfect, who was wealthy and promised her a comfortable life full of luxuries. Mushk started seeing her parents as enemies. It is important to note that there are a lot of such young girls who actually have to struggle hard to get the permission from their parents for pursuing their education but the character of Mushk confirmed the fears of all those parents who are always skeptical about allowing their daughters the right of getting educated.
Now Mushk has gotten married to Ismail; a widowed man with two kids and a mentally challenged sister. Another wrong message that was imparted through this drama was that if a girl fails to get married, the first thing father should do is find any random guy from the crowd and get her married without her consent, by pressurizing her. Now Mushk will eventually compromise and find her happy ending. At first, all the things Mushk did were terrible where she waged a war against her parents and hurt them by betraying their trust again and again but now, to show her as a negative character for not settling for Ismail Miyan happily is another wrong message. Mushk never liked Ismail to begin with, therefore for her mother and sister to shame her for not being happy is wrong again.
Muqaddar
Drama serial Muqaddar has shown that it is perfectly justified for an influential old man to kidnap a girl half his age, blackmail her, and literally threaten her using her family members as bait, in order to get married to her. Raima was shown as a bright girl who had aspirations and she dreamt big. Saif ur Rehman came along and literally ruined her entire life. Saif ur Rehman is shown to be overly smitten by his young bride and the sad part is, Raima who was clearly seen not entirely happy with him has now fallen in love with Saif ur Rehman. The character of Raima was refreshing in the beginning but now she has turned out to be the biggest disappointment because she didn’t do anything to bring a change in her life and walk away from the misery.
Raima, despite knowing that her husband could well afford a separate home for her chose to move into the house that belonged to his first wife. Raima continued to feed into the negativity and made the first wife look bad for being unable to gracefully accept her husband’s second marriage. It is unfortunate that the relationship that began on such a problematic note has now turned into a love story. Although Raima and Saif ur Rehman has fallen in love with each other, to see them in one frame is cringe-worthy. The writer has failed to do anything to make the viewers forget in what circumstances Raima got married to Saif ur Rehman. If they had shown that Saif ur Rehman kept on approaching her decently until Raima actually saw the possibility of leading a good life with him, it would’ve made this drama a whole lot better.
At this stage, the seemingly evil character seems far better than the two love birds who share a very bizarre relationship which started off on such a bad note. At the beginning of the drama, it was lowkey suggested that Saif ur Rehman was also responsible for quite a few questionable decisions that he had made in his life regarding the people who resided in his village, he was shown to be a cold-hearted person who only cared about what he wanted, so for the writer to completely brush it all off under the carpet doesn’t really make sense because now Saif ur Rehman has been turned into a hero with no solid reasoning, while also ignoring the fact how bad of a husband he has been to his first wife. The writer has made it look like it is perfectly fine for a wealthy man to abduct a girl, force her into marriage and because he will continue to shower her with luxuries, she will eventually fall in love with him.
Prem Gali
Prem Gali is the kind of drama that has shed a light on important issues under the garb of comedy. This way, the writer has taken the opportunity to change the mindset of society in general without making it look preachy. Prem Gali has imparted some great messages along the way, the first one being that a woman can use the curveballs in her life as a lesson and can use it to further strengthen her. Divorce has not been shown as a taboo in Prem Gali, although in the initial episodes the divorce of the three main characters was a point of discussion it never was suggested as something unacceptable. The writer has also shown how single parents can do a great job in raising their children, although the children may feel the absence of the second parent in their lives that does not undermine the efforts their parent has taken for them.
In one of the recent episodes, the way the entire issue of dowry was tackled was another brilliant message that was imparted through this drama. It also suggested that the elders are not right all the time and that they should allow the younger generation to change their perspective about certain issues that they feel so strongly about. The elders of the neighborhood wanted to do everything to arrange dowry for Fari but she along with her friends Joya and Hamza made everyone understand that there was no point doing so because it would mean that her value was being reduced to how much things she could take with her to her husband’s house. Fari’s in-laws reinforced as well that they had only allowed this to happen because they wanted to respect the feelings of Fari’s mother, but other than that, they had absolutely no desire. It goes to show how open communication can solve so many issues and at times, how important it is for the two individuals involved to settle things as per their mutual understanding.
Bandhay Ek Dor Se
Bandhay Ek Dor Se is more of a hit and a miss in overall story-telling. On one hand, there is a typical love triangle happening with Roshni being overly manipulative and Mahi being totally gullible about it. There have been quite a lot of moments in this drama where people have not spoken clearly which had led to a lot of misunderstandings and confusion, which also frustrates the viewers. However, the good message that Bandhay Ek Dor Se has given to the viewers is about the couple dealing with infertility.
The writer has brilliantly started a conversation about the fact that two people can be absolutely happy and have a healthy relationship way before they become parents. The writer also shed a light on the fact that it is necessary to not entirely hold the woman responsible for not bearing a child because it involves both the husband and the wife. In this drama, a very important issue was raised where a father takes it on him and speaks to his son about seeing the doctor, in a hope that it would put his wife out of the misery and save her the shame that she is unduly made to face every time someone talks about this matter.
Bandhay Ek Dor Se has reinforced the importance of family and has shown that it is perfectly fine for all the family members to have a difference of opinions, to be not on the same page all the time and have personality clashes, but on the whole, one unit of the family remains bound because of blood relations, empathy, respect and love for one another.
Meherposh
It won’t be wrong to say that Meherposh has been one of the biggest disappointments of this season because of all the messages that have been given through this story. Firstly, in Meherposh, divorce was shown as a taboo and something that was enough to drive Mehru to the verge of committing suicide. Although the writer must have thought that whatever was being shown was a bitter reality of today’s society but it would’ve been so amazing that while they decided to show 10 people badmouthing Mehru because of her divorce, there were at least a couple of people who spoke in her favor.
The recent turn of events has also shown how it is perfectly alright for a mother to be as manipulative as possible, only so that her son settles for the girl she chose for him, that too a girl who he had absolutely no interest in whatsoever. Shahjahan’s mother has made sure that she drifts Ayat apart from her elder sister Mehru by feeding her all sorts of lies against her. She has been doing it only to hide the truth from Ayat, so that she doesn’t find out that all this while, the mother knew that Shahjahan didn’t want to get married to her. There have been so many lies in this drama that it is hard to figure the truth anymore. At this stage, Ayat and Shahjahan’s mother have now formed a team and they both are working with an agenda of trapping Shahjahan so that he gives up on his love for Mehru. They are being dramatic about it and it is absolutely sad to see the power couple of the industry; Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor being a part of this ridiculously written drama.
Nand
Although drama serial Nand started off with a typical storyline it gave enough reasons for the viewers to continue watching it. All the things are shown in this drama, although have been a reflection of what is prevalent in society, but it also shed a light on the fact how poor choices make you face the consequences. It is unfortunate that drama serial Nand has now come to a point where the negative central character of Gohar is running the show and everyone else is dancing to her tunes, which has made a lot of people lose interest in the show. However, it can not be denied that when Gohar was being outbid by others in the drama, it was appealing to the viewers.
Drama serial Nand has highlighted the importance of good parenting. It has shown how weak parents end up giving too much power to their children, because of which they start making wrong choices and in the end suffer. It has also shown how important it is for a man to strike a perfect balance between his mother, his sister, and his wife. In the initial episodes, it was obvious that the writer had a clear picture in mind where a lot of balance was maintained between the bad and the good characters but now, Gohar is on a winning streak and that has stalled the impact this drama was made, but it can not be denied that in the initial episodes, it did create a lot of buzz for all the right reasons and messages.
Drama serial Nand also highlights the fact that staying silent and allowing people to run all over you is not going to take you anywhere. Rabi has stayed silent and has failed to put her message across, which at this point has turned her weak and with this behavior, she herself has enabled Gohar to create more problems for her.
Kashf
In this season, drama serial Kashf brought forth a completely different subject and highlighted a lot of issues related to one’s greed and selfishness. In this drama, the family of Kashf has left no stone unturned in exploiting her selflessness and the emotion of love that she felt towards them. This is the reason, her family got away with doing whatever they wanted to. In Kashf, a lot of strong messages have been handed out, such end up has how important it is for the people to not fall prey to the deception of fake peer fakirs. It has shown how easily people get manipulated and because they lack the faith in their Creator, they end up becoming a victim of other’s greed and agendas.
In one of the latest episodes of Kashf, the conversation was started about the earnings made by unlawful means, because of which Kashf felt that her family lost everything, but since she had no other option, she ended up going back to the Asthana to support her husband and then her father. Although in general, the story revolves around Kashf, her dreams, and her selflessness, the writer has done a great job in exposing how people do business in the name of religion and by selling their supposed piety to the weak and vulnerable.
This completes the list of all the messages that the current Pakistani dramas have given this season. Which of these dramas are you following and which of these messages have you related to the most? Do you feel it is the right approach of few drama makers to showcase so much of negativity in the name of creating awareness? Feel free to add to the discussion.

Zara is a beautiful addition to the Entertainment industry whose achievement as an actress is indeed worth admiring. Today everyone knows her as an accomplished actress of Television who has won the hearts of people in a very short time with her beauty, her nature and her talent.
Zara got married to a random guy in America but unfortunately, the marriage didn’t last for long and both parted their ways. In 2017 she again got married to Asad Siddiqui ( A well known Pakistani actor and a nephew of Adnan Siddiqui). Both are having a blissful life.
Zara was lately seen in an interview with “Something Haute”. Talking about her craft in dramas, she revealed that “A 28 or 29 year old woman can not perform a character of a 18 year girl”.
After mentioning this she was questioned by the host that if she is 28 or 29, she replied 29. Furthermore, she added that she has no shame of revealing her age, it’s just a number.
Written by Kashif Anwar and directed by Shahzad Kashmiri, Sabaat is the story of a strong-headed and ambitious women’s rights activist Anaya (Mawra Hocane), a government servant’s daughter who comes from a modest background and understands the bitter truths of life.
Recently the writer of Sabaat, Kashif Anwar was spotted in an interview with Fuchsia Magazine.
Rabia Mughni asked Kashif Anwar that what will be the ending of Sabaat, would we be crying on the ending of Sabaat or will we be happy? Kashif replied ” From the last two to three episodes people are crying, I want everyone to be happy when the story ends”.
Furthermore, He added that Miral and Atif might get punished for ruining Hassan and Anaya’s life.
Kashif did not directly reveled the ending of the story but indirectly he added that he wants Anaya to forgive Hassan if he asks for forgiveness.
This second last episode of Sabaat had its highs and lows just like all the other episodes of the drama. The timeline was confusing and the script continued to be mediocre. Mawra Hocane and Seemi Raheal were the stars of the show. Anaya’s confusion however was annoying at times. The only ‘surprise’ in this episode was Miraal’s mother’s secret deal with the lawyer. Miraal’s track stayed the same and just like I anticipated it will have a last-minute sudden but befitting tragic ending. Watching Miraal’s negativity along with her shallow personality has been extremely tedious, to say the least! The viewers deserved more than a last-minute accident.
Whoever put together the promo for the last episode, gave away the main elements of the ending which is obviously never a good idea! Sabaat is heading towards an ending which was highly predictable. The only question is whether Hassan will be forgiven or not. The second last episode of a drama is the best time to show some character development but there was none in this episode.
For a change I completely agree with Atif, he said exactly what the viewers wanted to hear when he thought about how twisted Fareed’s children were! If the writer wanted to send a message across through these dialogues, he definitely failed in doing so. These dialogues however were music to my ears. Jahangir’s character was such a pleasant addition to the drama; his exit wasn’t the best part of this episode. Ali’s conversation with his mother was funny especially because he has always been such a superficial character.
Anaya Goes Back To Work
After taking the longest leave ever Anaya finally went back to work in this episode only to find out that her boss had been replaced. Although it was easy to understand why it was so difficult for Anaya to leave her son and go to work this aspect of her personality was given more screen time than necessary. Anaya’s character has been confusing throughout, sometimes it is difficult to tell where her priorities lie. The writer could have shown how difficult it was for her to leave Ibrahim and go back to work without making it look like she was willing to leave the job. There has always been a really practical side to Anaya’s personality which sometimes has been overshadowed by love for her husband and now her son. Surely, there are many women who can maintain a good balance on their own, it would have been great if Anaya did not get so confused every now and then. It was eventually Anaya’s mother who made her realize that she needed to go back to work. At the same time, she also missed the times when men used to earn! The addition of such pointless dialogues makes these characters confusing.
Overall, however, it was good to see Anaya’s track progressing. She dealt with her new boss’ advances intelligently and definitely knows how to keep her distance. I am guessing that Hassan will somehow be convinced of her innocence in the upcoming episode after he witnesses something himself.
Miraal and Ali’s ‘Love Story’
There hasn’t been the slightest change in Miraal’s character or track in all these years. Since Ibrahim turned one in this episode therefore Miraal has been trying to get a divorce for over a year now! Even though she met Harris after so long, her dialogues were still the same! I am sure Sarah Khan did not have to put in a lot of effort to learn these dialogues since not much has changed over the years and in these 27 episodes! Harris was shown trying to salvage a relationship that only existed in his head. I was hoping that this last meeting will be used by the writer to make this track somewhat meaningful with Harris pointing out exactly where Miraal went wrong in her life. It is however safe to say that Harris succeeded in being the most useless character right till the end! I am seriously disappointed with this entire track; all the screen time it got was a complete waste of time.
Ali gave his mother a lecture after she told him not to marry Miraal. Somehow the writer thought this was a good time to discuss why Ali loved to be controlled by Miraal! I wish he had invested this time in revealing why Miraal is so twisted.
Hassan’s Trust Issues Continue
There was no change in Hassan’s thinking in this episode either. In fact, Atif managed to convince him that he needed to divorce Anaya. So, Miraal got what she wanted and this scene wasn’t the lease bit impactful. Hassan is still living under a rock since he has no idea even now that Anaya’s father passed away. The way the writer has handled Hassan’s character, in particular, has been the most disappointing element of the story since Ameer Gillani acted so well and this track had so much potential. Hassan literally started seeing the world with Atif’s eyes ever since he got married and nothing has changed.
Final Remarks
I am glad that Sabaat will finally be ending next week! I remember how excited I was when I watched the initial promos, I couldn’t have imagined that such a good team would not be able to deliver. Except for some meaningful scenes covering Anaya’s track, Sabaat’s story was all over the place!
