Saba Faisal’s son Salman Faisal just got married to his fiance Neha and the wedding was a fun affair for the whole family. Every function was colourful and beautifully coordinated. The Baraat day shoot of the couple was beautiful and the whole family also looked stunning. The pictures from the couple’s Baraat are out and not only Salman and Neha made a beautiful couple in colour coordinated red and gold ensembles but the groom’s mom Saba Faisal was a sight to behold in a pink Jora and his sister actress Sadia Faisal also shined in a sky blue Jora.
Salman’s brother Arsalan kept it simple in a black suit. The whole family was super happy on the occasion and their happiness added to the overall beauty of the wedding pictures. Check out some clicks below:
Let’s put it in simple words: Coke Studio this year was a disaster. Coke Studio is a platform that gave a new life to the music scene of Pakistan. Fans all over the world used to wait for the new seasons every year but last season was just a disappointment and produced more hits on controversies than on content. To counter it, Nescafe Basement is here and is giving us back to back hits and crazy new talent that is making the country proud.
Actor Gohar Rasheed is also following the music platform and praised it. The actor went on to praise the merit which has been considered in the selection of all the artists in the Nescafe Basement and then took a small dig at the larger platform Coke Studio in a subtle way:
Well, what do you think? Do you prefer fizzy drinks or a cup of coffee this season?
Ali Noor of Noori has been a part of Strepsils Stereo for some time now and has been giving us tracks which represent Pakistani music’s first ever Acappella songs. The last was Billo which was a chartbuster Mehendi song and featured Sanam Chaudhary in the video. Well, the valentines day is around the corner and Ali Noor is back with another Acappella offering and the new song Dil Haara is all about opening up about your feelings to your loved ones. The video features Ali Noor himself and supermodel Rabia Butt as leads and is a modern take on relationship problems and the communication gap.
Dil Haara is a typical Ali Noor song and is quite soothing to hear and is a bit of good advice for all the young couples out there!
Pakistani channels have a great following for game shows like Jeeto Pakistan where the audience can win countless prizes. Celebrities like Aamir Liaquat Hussain, Fahad Mustafa and Nabeel have been a part of these shows with Fahad Mustafa having a very successful stint with his Jeeto Pakistan.
On the other hand the game show on Bol TV, Game Show Aise Hi Chalega didn’t have that much success and two hosts have already left the show including Aamir Liaquat and later Nabeel. Now, Danish Taimoor is all set to take the reins in his hands and will be the new host for the show. This will be Danish’s first time doing a show like that.
Danish has now done it all from dramas to movies and now a show. Let’s see if his entry will make the show popular or not!
Ayeza Khan is busy these days with the shooting of her upcoming drama Meray Paas Tum Ho in which she is starring opposite none other than Humayun Saeed. Ayeza is currently seen in the hit drama Koi Chand Rakh. The actress is a superwoman and is juggling many things together. She also did a fashion shoot recently and it was totally different from her usual style. Ayeza was wearing some chic Saaris while her hair was styled in a mass of curls.
Ayeza Khan like always rocked the looks and posed for all the pictures like a pro she is. Here are some pictures from her denim Saari looks from the latest photoshoot:

Sajal is having a great time professionally as she is part of the most successful and huge projects right now. She is currently starring in Aangan and will also be seen in Alif very soon.
Sajal just attended an event for a store launch and looked super glowy. She was wearing a powder blue ensemble which she paired with her sleek hair, tear-drop pearly earrings and beautiful natural makeup. Here are some of her pictures clicked at the event:

She has single-handedly made a brilliant career for herself and has been a part of many projects like 10,000 B.C, The Chronicles of Narnia and X-Men Days of Future Past. We wish Laraib Atta all the luck and hope she wins this one!
Hamza Firdous, son of veteran actor Firdous Jamal has been busy with dramas such as Ghugi and O Rangreza and now he is all set to make his cinematic debut soon with the movie Aashiq. Aashiq is going to be a crime thriller and will be releasing this year as per the reports. The film will start shooting from next month and also has names like Hajra Yamin and Salim Mairaj attached to it. The poster of Aashiq is definitely intriguing and it will revolve around the life of a 9-year-old boy whose name will be Aashiq.
Aashiq is written by Ali Moeen and Asad Mumtaz while the director will be Asad Mumtaz. The movie will be taken to various film festivals and will also release in Pakistan this year. The poster of the movie is indeed interesting. Let’s hope it manages to capture the attention of the audience too!
Ohkay so, nothing much actually happened in this episode of Khud Parast but then again, I didn’t have a hard time watching it because even such a slow episode was done well. This episode focused more on the reactions of each & every character & how they all were trying to move on from the dark phase that just took over their lives recently.
Uswa Gets Pressurized Again:
Uswa finally started to feel like herself again. She was free & she could do what she wanted – this is what she believed but then the reality hit her & she once again was faced with the concerns & pressures of her family. Uswa thinks that after painting such a horrific picture of her marital life in front of her family, she will be able to breathe & live life as per her wishes but she has no idea that her family is very rooted & are not going to entertain her the way she wants. Uswa obviously does not have a conventional thinking, she is selfish to an extent that she doesn’t think or feel for anyone but when it comes to others, she expects them to do be mindful of her likes & dislikes but gradually she will start learning that no one is going to babysit her anymore.
Zoha started pressurizing Zarina to get Uswa married & this is what Zarina thinks too. It is a deeply rooted problem in our society that as soon as a girl gets divorced, people want to see her married the next day & Uswa’s family is no different. Zarina obviously is scared regarding the extent Uswa can go to therefore she also thinks Uswa should settle down & stop ruining her life just like that. Everyone knows that Uswa & Adeel are very good friends that is why they think Adeel is the right choice but Uswa has yet to make up her mind.
Uswa is trying hard to find her happiness & she likes spending time with Adeel but now he has started to get under her skin too because he is proposing & Uswa does not want to get married. Adeel obviously being a shady person that he is, is after Uswa’s money but she would never know. Adeel has informed his parents too but his father knows what exactly is running through Adeel’s mind whereas his mother is too busy pampering her only son.
As much as I sympathize with Beenish, I just couldn’t sit through her crying. I actually want to see what Beenish is going to make out of her life. So far, we do know that she has no idea how things rolls & she is not capable of doing much on her own but some decision, some baby step that she takes for herself & her daughter? Hanan is shattered & broken & he has no idea what he wants from life as of now. Bakhatwar was struggling without Hanan & she was doing everything to be able to persuade him to come back but Hanan has made it obvious that he will not come back.
Closing Thoughts – The Story Should Make A Progress Now:
Overall, this episode did not offer much but it still was a pretty decent episode. However, I do hope that the story starts progressing from next week. I must say it is commendable how the writer has kept the story on track & has not added any such tracks that deviate away from the main plot. I am keen to see the ending all these characters will meet but yes, there’s one thing which I don’t want to see, that is Beenish & Hanan together, let’s see. Direction, editing, acting remains amazing so far. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khud Parast.
This was the kind of episode you watch with a smile on your face and a tear or two in your eyes. It was emotional as well as enjoyable. Noori has found a purpose in life and since she was always been someone who loved finding solutions to the most difficult problems therefore she will definitely do whatever she can to make things better for Bhola and his mother. This episode belonged to Noori who took Ama Janate’s advice very seriously and decided to accept Bhola for who he was. Noori’s biggest strength has been her determination and this time she is determined to make this relationship work. Faiza Iftikhar’s heroines are always strong women who most often take the lead in a relationship and Noori is the same too. The spell-binding performances made the emotional scenes even more poignant. Asma Abbas translated a mother’s love in the most apt manner possible. She shares such an amazing on screen chemistry with all her co-actors. Iqra Aziz has translated Noori’s character faultlessly on screen. Imran Ashraf’s performance continues to be impressive and Bhola’s character has been etched-out superbly too. Kashif Nisar’s intelligent direction definitely made this episode an absolute delight to watch.
The Power Of Kindness
Noori’s changed attitude towards Bhola turned things around for him. It showed how sensitive Bhola is because he immediately felt the change in Noori’s behavior and was more than willing to return the kindness. Noori and Bhola’s growing relationship was shown very realistically. While Bhola was more than willing to do a few things to please his dulhan, there were also times when he was not too eager to follow whatever Noori asked him to do. Bhola’s ‘love’ for his good for nothing friends is one of the many realistic traits of his personality. Noori is an intelligent girl who knows how to handle Bhola, sometimes with love and at other times by threatening him of dire consequences. It was great watching Noori being her old self, she was driven, enthusiastic and in control. Bhola and Noori’s scenes together were written and acted out so well. Kashif Nisar deserves all the credit for making these scenes pleasing to watch.
Heart-warming Relationships
Noori and Bhola’s relationship with Fehmida is the most heart-warming aspect of this drama. All the scenes covering how happy and satisfied Fehmida was now were the most satisfying scenes in this episode. Asma Abbas translated a mother’s feelings superbly on screen. Although Rizwana kept on telling her how wrong it was for Bhola to share private details of his married life with his mother, she insisted she wanted to know more. This was one of the cutest scenes in this episode. I loved the way Noori asked her that question about Bhola. Fehmida’s answer to that question suggested that Bhola always had learning disabilities but the biggest change in his personality came after a prolonged illness. There is still some mystery surrounding this track and there is definitely more to it. Chacha’s interest in Bhola’s private affairs suggested that he had his eyes on his assets. Although Chachi cannot stand Bhola and she most certainly cannot see Fehmida happy but she is never able to understand what is going on in her husband’s mind. Noori and Bhola’s friends’ encounter was one of the most amusing scenes in this episode.
Sahir Is Back!
The preview of the next episode showed that the chacha has saved enough money to start a business of his own and it seems like Sahir is going to be playing an important role in this new venture. Sahir will eventually make his way to their house as well and that is when he will see Noori there. Fehmida has absolutely no clue about Noori’s actual background therefore it remains to be seen how she will react once she finds out the truth. Fehmida trusted her brother in law with all her money and she trusted Ama Janate too. Once Sahir is back in the picture, the story will move to a different direction.
Overall Impression
With this episode the story moved to the next phase. All the latest developments were covered perfectly. The performances never cease to impress and the script has so much to offer. This episode was well-paced and engaging. Looking forward to the next episode.
Ohkay so, what an amazing, intense & perfectly executed episode of Cheekh. Team Cheekh should take a bow for giving us a gripping drama but for this episode in particular, Saba Qamar & Bilal Abbas Khan deserve a standing ovation. Their performances were impeccable & flawless. I am so glad that so far the team of Cheekh has kept things to-the-point & are not dragging anything by adding delays or moving the story around in circles. This episode was done so so so well that even for a second I couldn’t take my eyes off the TV screen. Every emotion was elaborated to the T & that is why it was just so impactful. I can’t praise this episode of Cheekh enough!
The Confession of A Culprit:
Even though Mannat didn’t want to believe the fact that Wajih could do something like that, but a part of her was also convinced that is why she was trying to find the answers that would confirm her fears. It was like Mannat had this feeling that Wajih might be the culprit but she didn’t want things to lead her to that. Mannat was determined but she was also confused because she didn’t even want to believe that Wajih was capable of doing something like this.
Mannat didn’t stop probing & the way Wajih’s friends lied & informed him, showed exactly how hard it will be for Mannat to prove Wajih guilty in the future with so many people by his side. This is just the beginning & Mannat has no idea what she is getting into but a part of her is deliberately taking the risk because she can not get over the fact that such a harmless soul like Nayab deserved to be treated this way. No one can understand what Nayab meant to Mannat that is why I like how they keep on touching upon the past & reviving those emotions which remind everyone about the bond that Mannat & Nayab shared. Mannat & Nayab was soul sisters & that is the kind of bond which no one else can understand, that is why everyone casually tells Mannat to move on without even realizing that it is just impossible for her. Mannat continued looking for answers because she could feel she will find them & that is what exactly happened.
Wajih’s friend called him & that was kind of what triggered him to finally confess because it seemed like even he was tired of carrying a facade & lying to Mannat as well as his entire family. Mannat searched through Wajih’s belongings & the torn pocket confirmed her fears, her doubts & gave her all the answers that she was looking for. What happened after that was what I am sure not no one saw coming but that most certainly is going to change the course of the story which I am most certainly happy as well as excited about.
Wajih finally decided to tell Mannat everything, every little gruesome detail that she never could’ve imagined. Wajih is egoistic spoiled brat who feels entitled & that is only because he has been raised in such an environment, in such a manner that he thinks the entire universe revolves around him. Wajih is someone who can not take no for an answer & like he said, because he always got the kind of attention he wanted from girls, he thought Nayab was no different. Nayab actually went to speak to Wajih, because she trusted him & because she thought he also respected her but the face that she got to see of Wajih was horrific. Wajih openly told her about the kind of relationship he was looking for without having any strings attached. Wajih, having this sense of entitlement thought that Nayab was so desperate for his attention that she will agree to whatever he was demanding. A slap & a rejection was something that Wajih couldn’t handle & then the fear of being exposed was what drove Wajih to that point where he didn’t even think for a second before pushing Nayab to death. It did seem that Wajih again had this feeling that nothing will happen to him & he will get away with this, but I am glad he will be proven wrong very soon!
Mannat could not believe what she heard & the way she slapped Wajih went to show how disgusted she felt & how angry she was. Mannat wanted to punish Wajih for whatever he was saying that is why she couldn’t resist hitting him so that even he realizes what he has done. Mannat left & the first shocker she got came from her mother who not only wanted Mannat to brush everything under the carpet but also wanted her to apologize to Wajih so that it doesn’t affect her marital life. Unbelievable but very realistic. No mother would ever want her daughter to waste her time or a chunk of her life in court hearings, visiting police stations, meeting lawyers & most importantly, fighting against her entire family who also happens to be quite resourceful.
Sadiq came to the forefront in this episode. He admired Nayab & he liked her to an extent where he dreamt of getting married to her. Sadiq sympathized with Nayab & because he was ashamed of whatever trash he said about her, that is why he touched her feet to seek an apology. I am sure though he does look like a scaredy cat right now, he might be one of those who will eventually support Mannat, out of guilt or out of sympathy for Nayab, but he definitely will help Mannat because that is the kind of character he seems to posses, which was nice to see. After this episode, Yawar can be declared as a hypocrite, who preached about respecting women but contradicted it the moment he found his younger brother in hot waters. Yawar is going to be a face of all those people who clearly have double standards, are hypocrites & do not practice what they preach especially when it comes to their family members. I can not wait to see the fight Mannat will have with all of these people, this is just the beginning!!!
Closing Thoughts – Relevant & To The Point:
I loved this episode & I believe it couldn’t have been any better. Saba Qamar & Bilal Abbas Khan were on fire & Ushna Shah was superb as Nayab, as a girl whose trust was shattered & who was scared as well as scarred for her life. Nayab did save herself by not succumbing to Wajih’s pressures but then she lost her life because Wajih didn’t let her go. I am glad that the story so far has stayed relevant & to the point but I do hope that the fight for serving justice to Nayab isn’t too long or dragged because this usually does happen with our dramas. Let’s just hope that they keep things on track & continue to make such an impact. The entire confession scene was just so intense & gripping. The direction, the editing & the acting has been top-notch so far & I am sure continue to get even better. Can’t wait for the real battle. Please share your thoughts about this amazing episode of Cheekh.

Osman Khalid Butt and Maya Ali have been BFFs since the day they actors met and they have always supported each other in their careers and achievements. The duo also has been one of the most loved pairs of Pakistani dramas. They have starred together in many dramas like Ek Nayi Cinderella, Aun Zara, Diyar e Dil and Sanam.
It was Oman Khalid Butt’s birthday and Maya Ali finally got to celebrate his birthday with him. Maya Ali posted a sweet message on her Instagram as she also congratulated Osman on his birthday and expressed how proud of him and his journey has she been. Both of them are busy these days with their respective projects and it was great to see the two best friends finally have a moment together:
Happy birthday to Osman Khalid Butt from our side too. Let’s see what else he has in store for us!
Humayun Saeed is finally going to star opposite none other than Ayeza Khan and this is one pairing we all want to see on our screens. Humayun Saeed has been a hit spree for quite a few years now and the same can be said for Ayeza Khan too. Both the actors have been giving us back to back great projects and now we will see them starring opposite each other. Ayeza Khan and Humayun Saeed will be seen starring together in the drama Meray Paas Tum Ho. This will be Humayun’s comeback to television after Dillagi which was a major hit. Ayza, on the other hand, is seen right now in the TRP chartbuster Koi Chand Rakh.
Humayun Saeed shared a picture with his co-star Ayeza Khan and the actor has nothing but praises for Ayeza. He informed the fans that seventy per cent of the shoot has already been done for the drama and hopefully, we will watch Meray Paas Tum Ho quite soon. This is what Humayun had to say about Ayeza:
Well, Ayeza Khan is one dedicated lady, that is a sure fact. She has always been her hundred per cent whether it is her personal or professional duties which shows that Ayeza Khan is nothing but goals for all the young ladies out there!
Mahira Khan is the biggest star of Pakistan. The lady is the ruling royalty of the Pakistani entertainment industry and she has represented Pakistan at so many International platforms making the country proud of her. Mahira Khan has lately switched o the films and has given back to back entertaining projects. She is ready to rock the nation with her portrayal of Mukho, the love interest of Maula Jatt in the most anticipated, The Legend of Maula Jatt. Mahira Khan will also star in Superstar opposite Bilal Ashraf which will also release in the year 2019.
Mahira Khan made her country proud once again as she stepped out to take an award for the International Icon at the Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards-DIAFA, which were held in Dubai. The diva looked stunning in a powder blue cape gown and was a sight for sore eyes as she took her award. Her hair and makeup were on point too.
Congratulations to Mahira Khan for another achievement. May she keeps getting more achievements for Pakistan for forever!
Shaista Lodhi has pioneered quite a lot of trends in the morning show world of Pakistan. The lady has been a household name and later also ventured into acting where she worked with actors such as Faysal Qureshi. Shaista Lodhi in a recent interview spoke about how unfulfilling the morning shows were for her and said that she finds herself guilty of starting the wedding week trend too. Shaista explained that she was a single mother and there was no way for her to quit doing morning shows but now she has quit because she can.
Shaista Lodhi is more focused on running her clinic now and is often seen working at her clinic or spending time with her friends. Here are some of her recent pictures where she is definitely looking happier and more fulfilled:
This latest episode of Baba Jani mainly focused on Najiba and Naila’s plan to create a rift between Nimra and Mehwish. There was some progress in Nimra and Umair’s track as well. Asfand continued to play referee in the most graceful manner possible. Umair’s character development is the most positive aspect of the story right now.
Najiba & Naila’s Plan
Najiba and Naila’s insecurities yet again were the driving force behind all their plotting and planning. Once again they invested a lot of time in brainwashing both Mehwish and Nimra. Although Mehwish and Nimra know these women only too well but since they don’t know each other well enough, they started doubting each others intentions. At this point, most of the viewers want to see a decent ending to this play which would ideally include a change in Najiba and Naila’s behavior although right now it is impossible to predict how that is going to happen. Saba Hameed and Sundus Tariq’s performance throughout has been on point but their characters are not layered. They are negative, bitter, over-possessive and insecure, they love Asfand but their controlling tactics always create problems for him. These characters are not likable but they definitely are a true representation all such women who cannot ‘share’ their brothers or sons with anyone. Thankfully there are enough positive characters in this drama to keep ones interest alive. Asfand, Umair, Zahoor and even Mehwish’s mother are always wise and thoughtful even though they are not always perfect.
Umair & Nimra’s Relationship
Umair and Nimra’s meeting in the restaurant was one of my favorite scenes in this episode. The dialogues were well-written and the change in Umair is extremely likable. He is turning out to be a mature person who knows exactly what he wants yet he is not being emotional. Umair’s approach was practical and gradually the writer has managed to convince the viewers that Umair will be the perfect life partner for Nimra. Ali Ansari has played this role convincingly and Madiha Imam owns her character completely.
Different Shades Of Love
This episode showed how people love differently. Some people love like Najiba and Naila – they like to control, then there are people like Umair and Asfand who look out for the people they love and have a more practical and wise approach, others are like Nimra, who love silently and get hurt easily. And then there are those like Mehwish, who are afraid to love!
Asfand & Mehwish
While Asfand is always willing to give every relationship his best even though he has also been back-stabbed in the past by the people he loved the most, Mehwish is still healing from the bitter experiences she had in the past. Mehwish’s mother is always there to remind her how blessed she is to have a man like Asfand but Mehwish has a completely different perspective. This episode covered how Asfand made Mehwish feel wanted and loved but his sisters did whatever they could to undermine his efforts. The preview of the next episode suggested that Mehwish will have bigger issues to worry about really soon and this time too it seems like she will not take Asfand into confidence. No matter how hard Asfand tries somehow the women in his life never seem to have enough faith in him! Faysal Qureshi has translated Asfand’s character brilliantly on screen. Faryal Mehmood has also done justice to her character. I am sure I am not the only one who is anxiously waiting to see Asfand worry-free and happy in the end? This drama has given us one of the most responsible male protagonists and that continues to be the best thing about Baba Jani.
We have seen Anam Tanveer in many dramas. She is an actress who has done many roles ranging from supporting characters to negative characters and she always does justice to her roles. Anam Tanveer likes to spend time with friends too and what better occasion to do just that than her birthday. She invited her friends to her birthday celebrations. She wore a black lace gown which she paired with some green strappy heels, her hair was styled in beach waves while her makeup was done in smokes and nudes.
She clicked many pictures with her friends too and her birthday party looked like a lot of fun. Check out the pictures here:
Faysal Qureshi has been hosting his show Salam Zindagi for quite some years now. The actor has also ventured into producing films now with Sorry while he is also acting and hosting. His show always is different from other morning shows as it is a lot more fun and is a lot laid back and different than having Shadi Weeks every other day.
Faizan Sheikh and Maham Aamir are a beautiful couple and they are often spotted together. The couple was again spotted together at Salam Zindagi and as always looked beautiful together. Maham was wearing a simple shalwar kameez which she paired with her wavy hair and natural makeup while Faizan as always was dressed casually. The couple always looks great together and it is always great to see them together smiling and having fun. Check out some of their shots from the show:
Aiman Khan and Minal Khan are sisters who are always on top of their fashion games and always keep in touch with their fans. The duo has not been spotted together as much now since Aiman Khan is now married to fellow actor Muneeb Butt. The couple had beautiful nuptials and were out for their honeymoon. The sisters are now catching up again and are taking time off work to spend time with their best friends too.
Both Aiman Khan and Minal Khan were spotted spending time with their friends as they both looked casual chic in their laid back styles. They, as usual, looked very beautiful and were nothing short of a dream. Here are some pictures of Aiman and Minal as they rocked their outfits while out and about with friends:
Sumbul Iqbal Khan is hands down one of the bubbliest actresses of the Pakistani entertainment industry. She is super pretty and cute is always dressed to the nines. Sumbul Iqbal Khan has definitely groomed her fashion sense and she always looks out of this world. The actress is in Murree these days and looks like we are going to have a new project as she was spotted with none other than the talented Imran Ashraf who is currently seen in Ranjha Ranjha Kardi.
Since the actress is in Murree in this cold weather, she is definitely enjoying some snow fall and clicked some awesome pictures in the chilly weather. Check out:
Sham Idrees and Froggy aka Sehar have been a team for years now. They both have grown together and have a huge social media following. Sham Idrees and Froggy are YouTubers who are known for making comedy videos as well as a large number of VLogs and yes, pranks which they keep on pulling on each other.
The duo has recently made their relationship official and has gotten married. Sham Idrees is so in love with his wife Froggy and he did not hesitate to share his feelings about Froggy as he took to Twitter. He posted how proud he is of Froggy as she wears Hijab for her religion and never thinks of the weather or what the occasion is. He posted the message of his pride for wife Froggy as he called her his Hijabi Queen:
Well, looks like Sham is a very good and supportive husband and doesn’t forget to make his wife feel special!
Nadia Jamil is an artist as well as a philanthropist. The actress has always worked to raise awareness for justice and helping those who are in need of help. Nadia Jamil has suffered from seizures and has had health issues for years now but the actress always has highest spirits and an even stronger strength and will power whenever she fights back.
Nadia Jamil was not feeling well but the actress still took time to inform her followers about her health and she is definitely a role model for all the people out there on how to remain positive and always smile. Nadia is still feeling very weak but she definitely has high spirits.
We wish Nadia Jamil a speedy recovery and ay she always remain this strong and keeps preaching positivity and strength!
Ohkay so, with this episode of Koi Chand Rakh, the story got wrapped up a bit & the base for finale was set. Honestly speaking, while watching this episode tonight, I actually wondered that may be the story of the novel on which Koi Chand Rakh is based on wasn’t that bad, what made it a bad drama actually was the execution, direction & the acting of some of the actors. The director is the captain of a ship & Koi Chand Rakh drowned solely because of the director & that is why we get to experience so many glitches in every other episode!
Zain Ain’t Getting His Apology Accepted:
Zain was apologetic & he continued being apologetic throughout the episode. Zain had made up his mind that he wants to reconcile & patch things up with Rabail but now Rabail is past that stage where she could even think of giving Zain a chance. Even though I am not as keen on Rabail’s character but I totally support her decision of not giving Zain another chance just because he is sorry. Zain can not have things his way, he can not get the best of both worlds where when he wanted to, he left without any explanation & now again when he wants, he is pushing his way back in Rabail’s life. It is good to see Rabail standing her ground. It shows that when a loyal person like Rabail is betrayed & tossed away, the damage is irreparable & that is why despite all the pressures from Zain as well as Sobi, Rabail is not ready to give Zain another chance!
Nishal lost her child because she tried to commit suicide. It is unfortunate that Zain’s love has driven Nishal crazy to a point where she is now harming herself. Everything aside, be it Zain’s guilt or regret or the suffocation he feels while being with Nishal, I just don’t get how come Zain is steering clear from the responsibility he has towards her? Zain wants to make things work with Rabail, that’s fine but he should realize that he can not just completely ignore Nishal especially when she is in such a mental state. It was rich seeing Zain blaming Nishal just so easily whereas whatever Nishal has done or has been doing now is only because of Zain & the love she has for him. Zain is regretful, that’s fine but he can not only hold Nishal accountable for whatever wrong decisions he has made in his life because he was not a toddler to begin with!
Closing Thoughts – Jaan Jaye Par Makeup Na Jaye:
Overall, the direction of this episode was again quite bad. Also, it seemed that no one in this team grasped the concept of continuity – change in the length of shirts, change in the patterns of shirts, changes of hairstyles & stuff like that showcased poor continuity & lack of attention to detail. It shows that by now the director as well as the actors had pretty much lost the interest in this drama & they wanted to finish it off quickly, that is why they were just pushing through. It was funny that Nishal sneaked out of the hospital room & when she reached her house, that is when Nafeesa woke up which almost looked like she was sleep-walking. What a mindful parent I must say. I think it is actually very cute endearing of a fact that the actor playing the role of Nafeesa is so bad at acting, I am being honest, I find it cute. Anyways, it is amusing how Asad & Nafeesa have nothing else to talk about than just comparing Nishal & Rabail. Makeup as usual was hideous. I must say I also want to meet one such doctor in my life who looks so rosy, pink & glamorous. The doctor who came to give Nishal a reality check was just as made up as Rabail. I guess it runs in the hospital. Also, I want to see one such person suffering from depression that has her nails painted red & eyes painted shimmery pink. Amazing. Chalo, I guess if not for anything else, the team of Koi Chand Rakh should be applauded for paying so much attention to at least one thing i-e makeup. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Koi Chand Rakh.
Tonight’s episode of Aangan was much more engaging because it focused on all the tracks instead of focusing on only one and there was considerable progress in the story. The first half was also emotional since it covered Safdar’s exit from Mazhar’s house.
Safdar Decides To Break Free
Ahsan Khan translated Safdar’s helplessness and his sadness exceptionally well on screen. His body language clearly indicated how tired Safdar was and that he did not have the energy to put up with all the hatred and rejection any more. Even when he was leaving, his expressions and body language clearly indicated that he might never come back. Tehmina’s changed attitude after the story moved forward a few years indicated that she too was equally fed up of the restrictions. The conversation between Alia and Tehmina after Kusum ran away showed a different side of Tehmina. Tehmina supported Kusum because she felt that the parents put undue restriction on women in particular. For the first time there was an underlying message regarding how restricted women were in these households. Safdar’s partying words also suggested that perhaps he blamed Tehmina a little too for not being able to take a stand. Even though Mazhar wanted Tehmina and Safdar to get married but Safdar knew only too well that his mamu’s support will never be enough. There was considerable progress in this particular track and it seems like it will be coming to an end really soon. Hira Mani and Ahsan Khan’s on screen chemistry made their scenes and their track easy to connect to. Hira Mani’s performance has been average throughout especially when you compare it to Ahsan, Sajal, Ahad and Mawra’s acting. The sketch Safdar drew however looked more like that of Salma than Tehmina!
Jamil & Chammi
Sajal Aly never ceases to impress, she makes Chammi’s scenes an absolute treat to watch. I feel for Chammi already since it looks like she is ‘investing’ in someone who loves his own self more than anyone else! The way Jamil accepts Chammi’s favors but so far has not done anything other than flirting with her suggests that he is a young man having a good time – nothing more and nothing less. Ahad Raza Mir owns his character completely. Dadi’s dialogues about the men in this house were right on point! The younger brother was completely out of the picture in this episode which was somewhat odd. There are few people in the house therefore all of them should be shown just like everyone in Mazhar’s house is shown when that track is covered.
Overall Impression
I didn’t have high hopes from this episode but it worked for me. Alia and Tehmina’s relationship, Tehmina and Safdar’s romantic track and all the conflicting opinions in Mazhar’s house have added some depth to this particular track. These sisters share everything and they are greatly affected by their parents’ constant fights. Mawra Hocane’s performance has turned out to be a pleasant surprise and Ahsan Khan definitely made his presence felt in this episode. Mazhar’s relationship with Tehmina and his support for Safdar also makes his character more likeable. Omair Rana is such a fine actor. Madiha Rizvi has also played her part well. The holi scene could have been far more effective and meaningful but it wasn’t utilized properly. Rabia Butt’s dialogue delivery in this scene was also too confusing and fast. So far, Chammi and Jamil’s track has not moved forward but their scenes tonight were definitely entertaining. I absolutely love Sajal Ali’s confidence and the x-factor she adds to all her roles. The focus on visuals in this play however can most often be distracting. I am definitely looking forward to the next episode this time since the preview of the next episode showed that Jamil’s mother will send his proposal for Tehmina.

Ohkay so, one of my favourite drama from the current lot came to an end tonight. To be honest, it’s a bitter-sweet feeling; sweet because of the note at which it ended & bitter because I won’t get to see my favourite characters next week. Tawaan was the kind of drama that had this positive vibe to it & I am glad they kept it intact right till the end but yes, there were a couple of things which I wish I could change about the last episode though but I am feeling happy at the happy ending that Maryam & Shehroz got.
They Finally Had A Happy Ending:
Maryam was unsure but still she had made up her mind that she wanted to part ways with Shehroz. Even though Shehroz came to explain himself but Maryam didn’t give him a chance because in her mind, she was pretty sure that she meant nothing to Shehroz & that he didn’t even love her.
Zaman continued to brain feed Maryam against Shehroz because he actually assumed that after getting a divorce from Shehroz, Maryam will agree to get married to him. In the last few episodes, I did find it a bit awkward seeing Maryam spending time with Zaman. She had spent enough time with Zaman before to know the kind of person he was & there she was, relying on him emotionally thinking Zaman will give her an honest advice. Maryam’s involvement in Zaman’s life even before finding out about Shehroz’s revenge was not too convincing. Maryam believed in doing good but the fact that she chose to support Zaman by curbing Shehroz’s feelings about it kind of riled Shehroz up a lot more too. Maryam continued to show support to Zaman which actually didn’t sit well with Shehroz & that is why he found it even harder to forgive Zaman. So, Zaman once again tried to make Maryam believe that he had changed for good & that he was nothing like how he used to be but unfortunately, he couldn’t back his tall claims up.
Maryam heard everything that Shabana & Shehroz said to each other about her. That was the moment when she for the first time actually got to know what was in Shehroz’s heart & what she meant to him that is why without saying anything, she left to be able to gather her thoughts once again & introspect about whether she wanted a divorce or not.
Shabana finally realized that she was destroying Shehroz’s life by burdening him with Mano’s death – something that was inevitable & something that was a reality which Shabana should have accepted long time ago. Shabana not only realized that Shehroz was struggling but she also understood how Maryam had earned a place in everyone’s heart for herself with her love, patience & kindness. Shabana realized that she would get nothing out of holding Shehroz back from living his life to the fullest with Maryam, his lawfully wedded wife & that is why in the end it was Shabana who forced Shehroz to apologize to Maryam one more time & not give up on his marriage come what may.
Zaman, being an egoistic man couldn’t accept the fact that Maryam was ready to go back to Shehroz. Zaman couldn’t take rejection one more time that is why he pulled the trigger. Shehroz finally got to pour his heart out to Maryam & that is when she made him realize that hatred & love couldn’t co-exist in one’s heart, they could not go hand in hand. Maryam told Shehroz that he had to let go of the anger & hatred that he had for Zaman in order to live a life full of love with Maryam. I absolutely loved their dialogues & everything that was shown after that – Shehroz & Maryam leading a normal life, sharing a healthy relationship where now Shehroz was making sure to let her know that she meant the world to him & that she could finally rely on him emotionally.
The thing I felt wasn’t important & could’ve been ignored was Zaman’s suicide. I think they shouldn’t have shown him altogether, kind of leaving an open ending to his character up to viewer’s imagination. Showing that Zaman chose to kill himself was definitely not needed because everything else in Tawaan was absolutely convincing, real & fell in its right place. I also wish we could’ve seen that final bickering of Tabinda & Irfan or just both of them having a hearty conversation with Maryam & Shehroz. Now when the dynamic of their family was settled, Tabinda & Irfan were nowhere to be seen & I honestly missed their presence in the last episode. It would’ve been an icing on a cake seeing all of them together as one happy family because in the entire episode it was suggested so many times that their house was empty & the entire family fell apart, so one such scene was necessary to show them all together & happy as ever!
Closing Thoughts – Simple Story Done Extremely Well:
Overall, watching Tawaan was an appeasing experience. It gave us some very beautiful moments & showed how two complete strangers became so close that the idea of being away from each other broke their heart into pieces. Moomal Khalid was beyond impressive in Tawaan & Emaad Irfani gave his best performance so far in this drama. Their chemistry was subtle but still quite evident & beautiful. All the characters were amazing too, they all had an important role to play & they contributed in making this drama complete. Tawaan’s story, its characters, dialogues, situations were well-written. Dramas like these show that if a simple story is executed well, it turns into a great show. I have nothing but only good things to say about Tawaan & I will remember this drama for a very long time. Please share your thoughts about the last episode of Tawaan.
