Humayun Saeed’s Latest Interview

Being one of the most well-loved celebrities, Humayun Saeed needs no introduction at all. The ‘revival of Pakistani film industry’ is something all the people in the industry are working for, and of all the celebrities involved in this much talked about revival, Humayun Saeed has been the most active in this whole process. His film, Jawani Phir Nahe Ani is the highest grossing Pakistani film worldwide, and at ARY Film Awards, it received a total of 29 nominations, winning 18. After a break from TV, Humayun Saeed has made his comeback with ARY’s Dillagi, which is being followed and praised by the viewers.

In a recent interview with Dawn Images, Humayun Saeed talked about Jawani Phir Nahe Ani and his comeback.

dillagi

About Dillagi, “Dillagi does have its fans. Viewership ratings are great and it’s getting a lot of attention on social media. I had been very busy with production and Dillagi is the first drama that I have acted in the past four years. It’s the kind of role that I enjoy doing, subtle and romantic and it’s brought my fan following back in full force.”
Talking about fitness, ”I have just been watching my weight and eating healthy, and it helps. I am not against artificial procedures but I am scared by some of the results I have seen on people. A slight overdose contorts their faces into strange expressions. I am worried that the same might happen to me.”

jawani phir nahi aani

Proud of his film, Jawani Phir Ani, Humayun says, ”JPNA was an ARY movie but I don’t think there was any bias at the awards. The jury consisted of industry professionals and, as I told Wajahat, there was no other movie that deserved to win in all those categories.”

When asked if he’s interested in Bollywood, “I am just not interested. I have so much work here as an actor and producer, I really don’t have the time.”

Humayun Saeed’s production house, Six Sigma Plus, churns out many drama serials every year, so when asked about the representation of women as weak, helpless beings, “It is never a priority to show women crying, but inevitably a lot of stories are like that. And there’s no denying that such dramas are hits. This, sadly, is the life that a lot of women in Pakistan live. They see the same happening to a woman on TV and they enjoy empathising with her. Eventually, there’s also a happy ending which makes them feel optimistic about their own lives. It’s a sad truth.”

Humayun-Saeed

Viewers are waiting for the dramatized version of Bin Roye. “There is so much crying in it and it’s very well-crafted. People are going to love it!”

Udaari – Episode 8

The team of Udaari has definitely succeeded in making sure that things don’t get too dark and ugly in this drama. While causing awareness about child abuse is the primary reason why this drama was made but the entertainment value of the drama, the scenes that make you laugh sometimes outdo the bits that send shivers down your spine. This episode focused more on Meeran and Sheedan’s first day in Lahore. There were some scenes that were somewhat repetitive and could have easily been chopped down. For instance we have already seen enough of Arsh complaining about Meeran and her mother, that particular aspect did not deserve so much screen time. Just like all the previous episodes the scenes in which Imtiaz got an opportunity to violate Zebu was shown in a subtle yet very convincing manner. Without showing anything that would hurt the sensitivities of the viewers the director managed to put the message across. The message in the first scene was loud and clear – a molester will grab any opportunity that comes his way, he does not care if the mother is in the next room. It also goes to show that a lot of children are abused in their own home. A child should be safe inside the four walls of his or her home but that is not always the case. Although Imtiaz’s character is despicable but the word “googli” was hilarious!!! Since he is the only one who knows a little something about Google therefore he was shown bragging about it. It also went to show how this easy access to internet can be misused by people who can easily access such websites. Ahsan Khan owns his character, he is faultless as Imtiaz. He makes you forget every other character he has ever played and you only see him as a ruthless pervert. Sajida has no clue what is going on and she has also accepted Imtiaz’s insulting behaviour towards her majorly because he takes good care of Zebu and looks after her!

I must say that Sheedan’s overconfidence (I don’t agree with Arsh on a lot of things but I do agree with him on this one!) was surprising! We always saw her as a very vocal woman but I expected her to be slightly less vocal in this new environment but I was so wrong!!! Sheedan’s never-ending chatter and her confidence in her singing stood out more in this new place than it ever did in the village. Sheedan is completely different from these people and this contrast was shown brilliantly! The way she refused to give Arsh her vote of confidence was absolutely hilarious! She is so sure that Meeran can do so much better than him or anyone else! It was shocking yet entertaining to watch Sheedan feel right at home in this new place, she was not the least bit intimated by these people. Also, the reaction of Meeran and Sheedan when they were served lunch was spot on. They missed family members who would have done anything to eat such food and at the same time they enjoyed every bit of it. Meeran can tell when she is not wanted or when she is not being appreciated therefore when she starts singing with Arsh there are bound to be problems. Bushra Ansari stole the show yet again! The way these scenes were written and the manner in which they were portrayed on screen made me forget that I was watching a drama! It did remind me of all those helpers who come straight from the villages. Urwa Hocane has been doing her part really well too; her body language and dialogue delivery is on point.

udaari1

Milli’s conversation with her mother outside their house was another meaningful conversation which basically went to show that Milli’s mother was not skeptical about these people because of their financial status or background. Laila Zuberi yet again failed to deliver in these scenes. She seems to be more concerned about how she was looking when she talks instead of focusing on the dialogues.

Throughout this episode Imtiaz was trying to prove that Meeran and Sheedan had a bad character because they left for Lahore alone. This actually reminded me of a seminar I attended once in which Asma Jahangir was one of the speakers and she referred to this mentality! The way women are labeled in this way all the time because of such reasons. People who have known Sheedan and Meeran for a long time including Illays refused to believe what Imtiaz said. Imtiaz’s actions went to prove that this was his way of getting back at Meeran for refusing his ‘offer’ which basically sends out yet another message – when a man talks about a woman like that then it is highly likely that the reasons might be similar to the one’s shown in this drama! Sadly, this is actually a very true depiction of our society where defaming a woman can sometimes be the easiest thing to do! It happens not only in villages but even in workplaces where seemingly educated and enlightened men and women work together! Imtiaz’s bruised ego won’t let him rest and I am waiting to find out if he manages to accomplish anything by bad mouthing about these women.

There was a little too much of Arsh and the gang in this episode and their scenes unfortunately didn’t have much to add to the track. Other than that this episode managed to convey some truly important messages with Sheedan (Bushra Ansari) providing the comic relief  and keeping things from getting too serious.

The preview of the next episode suggested that Zebu will start showing that she is mentally disturbed and Sajida will start getting worried for her. Arsh and Meeran’s scenes in the preview showed that things will not be easy from here on. I am definitely waiting to find out how Meeran manages to overcome all these barriers and become a part of this band – right now it seems impossible for her to groom herself to come to that level.

Aksbandh – Pakistan’s First Found Footage Horror Film

Horror movies are right up my alley.I am always ready to grab some popcorn and enjoy a spine-chilling horror film so it’s no surprise that Aksbandh (previously titled Paranormal Karachi Nights), a 2016 Pakistani found footage horror film piques my interest.

Directed by Emran Hussain and co-written with Ayaz Samoo, produced by Naveed Arshad, Seemeen Naveed, Ayaz Samoo and Emran Hussain under the production banner of Cinematic Media, Big Idea Entertainment, Aksbandh follows six friends who set out on an fun adventure trip to Larkana, Sindh, to make a small found footage film, where things take a dark turn and they find themselves in danger.

The cast includes Ayaz Samoo, Saud Imtiaz, Danial Afzal, Bilal Yousufzai, Shehzeen Rahat, Mahrukh Rizvi and Arshad Ali. Most of them are not well-known names of the industry, but Ayaz Samoo has worked in spy thriller, 021 and Moor, for the latter he received AFA Best Actor in a Negative Role.

Talking to Dawn Images, Ayaz Samoo revealed, “When we started our script, there were only two characters instead of six. We incorporated more characters in order to make things more exciting and interesting. With fewer characters, there was a chance of monotony, something we wanted to avoid.”
On TV, Ayaz Samoo has mostly done comedy shows. “I left comedy to pursue serious roles, but it still remains my first love, I started my career as a standup comedian but wasn’t getting comedy roles on the silver screen. In Aksbandh, I saw my chance to do comedy on the big screen and I created the character of Sunny. I wanted the producers to know that I could still do comedy even after getting the Best Villain trophy at the ARY Film Awards. This was the right time to get back to the pavilion.”

The film was released across Pakistani cinemas on May 20, 2016.

Blind Love – Trailer Is Out

0

The film Blind love was in the news last year because Mohammad Amir, the cricketer said in an interview that he was going to start his film career with it. Later on however he denied any such news and said he did not have any intentions of working in films. Mathira’s dance number which she kept on promoting on her twitter and instagram page already pointed towards what her role in the film was going to be like. The film “Blind Love” has been directed by Faisal Bukhari. Most of the actors seen in the film are the ones who are usually seen in dramas. Yasir Shah, Nimra Khan, Imran Bukhari, Aamir Qureshi and Mathira are more prominent in the trailer. The trailer shows that it will be the story of people who plan to rob a bank.

Hareem Farooq’s Upcoming Project

Hareem Farooq is one of the few actors that won a huge fan following in a short span of time. She has appeared in numerous dramas including Mere Humdum Mere Dost, Mausam, Dusri Biwi etc, but by far her performance as Arjumand in Diyar-e-Dil has been the most impressive, according to viewers and critics.
Hareem Farooq got the opportunity to work with the finest directors of the industry, and she will be seen in Mehreen Jabbar’s Dobara Phir Se, alongside Adeel Hussain.

According to Brandsynario, Hareem Farooq is producing her upcoming film, Parchi, which will be romantic comedy. She will also be playing the lead role in the film. Parchi will be directed by Azfar Jafri, who also happens to be the director of Jannan. The script is penned by Shafqat Khan, while Osman Khalid Butt, Azfar Jafri and Imran Kazmi are behind the screenplay. The film will be released under the banner of IRK Films, a company owned by Farooq and Imran Kazmi. Talking to Express Tribune, Kazmi revealed that the film is expected to release in October 2016.

According to Hareem Farooq, the film ‘Parchi’ has slapstick fun moments with equally romantic moments. We wish the team all the best!

Faiza Iftikhar Talks About “Aap Kay Liye”

Faiza Iftikhar is one of those very few writers who always make an effort to write scripts which offer a different storyline with a hidden social message. She is known for her powerful dialogues and well-etched-out characters which make her dramas entertaining. Faiza Iftikhar has given the television viewers some of the strongest female leads and that too at a time when mazloom aurat reigns supreme in our dramas!! Dramas like Akbari Asghari, Bilquees Kaur, Roag, Aunn Zara in the past and currently on air Dil Lagi and Mein Sitara have given the drama watching audience an opportunity to tune into something that is not run-of-the-mill.

FI drmas

Faiza Iftikhar’s next venture “Aap Kay Liye” will air on ARY Digital soon after Eid-ul-Fitr. The drama has been directed by Badar Mehmood and produced by Big Bang Productions. The cast includes Faysal Qureshi and Arij Fatyma who will play the leading roles. Samina Peerzada, Waseem Abbas, Salma Hassan, Saife Hassan and others will be playing the supporting roles.

Faysal Qureshi plays the role of Shaheer in the play and Arij Fatima will play the role of Washma. In an exclusive interview with reviewit Faiza Iftikhar talked about “Aap Kay Liye”. Sharing a little something about the main plot and the leading characters she revealed,

Aap Kay Liye is story about contrast characters. Shaheer and Washma are totally different from each other. Shaheer is a mature business man, serious and pretty dry nature but very soft hearted and soft spoken…har kaam ghari ki soii dekh kar…very disciplined. On the other hand Washma is a happy go lucky girl, she doesn’t believe in following rules and schedule. She takes life very easy and loves unconditionally. She is also very vocal about herself and others.”

aap ke liye

Faiza Iftikhar is very sure that viewers will love Washma’s character. The important and intricate details Faiza Iftikhar  shared with us about the leading characters already makes it look like Faysal Qureshi and Arij Fatyma will fit into these roles perfectly. It also seems like Faiza Iftikhar is about to give us another heroine who will be remembered for a long time.

Talking further about the characters Faiza Iftikhar added,

“Shaheer will be older than Washma with much more experience in life but in few matters Washma seems more sensible than him. Basically Shaheer is simple and can trust others easily. Although Washma is too young but she has an eye and sense to judge others.”

“phoohar, kaahil and sust” were the 3 key words used by Faiza Iftikhar for Washma apart from all her positive qualities.

Samina Peerzada just played the role of a very majbur aurat in the play Beqasoor but in this play her character will have more room for performance and the viewers will get to see her in a character which has more to offer than Sadaf of Beqasoor. Talking about her character Faiza Iftikhar said,

“It is a sort of negative character but not evil. There is also nand bhabi taakra but not in a typical way.”

aap ke liye1

Faiza Iftikhar also revealed that Salma Hasan will be playing the role of Washma’s brother’s wife “and this bhabi has too many shades. The viewers will love this on screen bhabi. She is not too sweet neither is she unbelievably bitter,” was how Faiza Iftikhar described this character.

We are extremely thankful to Faiza Iftikhar for taking out time to answer our questions. How many of you are looking forward to “Aap Kay Liye”?

Teri Meri Love Story – Pictures and Details

The multi talented musician, actor and director, Jawad Bashir is busy in the shooting of his upcoming movie, Teri Meri Love Story. Before going on about this film, allow me to point out the obvious: the title is incredibly cheesy!

According to Bransynario, the cast includes Mohib Mirza, Ushna Shah, Omer Shahzad, Mohsin Abbas Haider, Uzma Khan and Laila Zubairi. The movie revolves around a girl who is about to get married, and the plot involves a love triangle. Kinda off-putting. The movie is being shot in Northern Areas and some of the scenes will be shot in Katas Raj Temple in Taxila.

Quratulain Baloch’s Collaboration With Noori

Drama serial, Humsafar changed the game for many artists, and one of these lucky artists is the super talented Quratulain Baloch (also known as QB). She is one of the most unique and distinctive voices out there, and for that reason, she is one my favourites.

Talking to Express Tribune, QB shared quite a bit about her work and experiences as a female singer.
Recently, she did a song, Aar Ya Paar, for Cornetto Pop Rock which was performed in Islamabad earlier this month. This was penned by the ambitious singer herself and produced by Noori. The song is special for QB, ”Not having a grasp on the language, I was able to pull off my philosophical take on life, my feelings and inspirations and how I have perceived myself as a human being.”
QB speaks highly of Noori, “When two crazy idealistic people meet, something extraordinary happens and this is what happened with our collaboration. It could not have been possible without the influence the band has had on all of us”.

About her over all journey and experience, “Our society is such that people want to be entertained by female singers but they don’t want their daughters singing. I’ve been very lucky in that department because I feel that there aren’t many female singers in Pakistan. Now is the perfect time for female singers to put themselves out there.”

Humsafar OST and Sammi Meri Waar are my favourite songs by QB, which ones do you enjoy? x240-6b9

Adnan Malik’s Comeback

Adnan Malik is known and loved for playing Khalil in the wildly popular drama serial, Sadqe Tumhare. He appeared alongside Mahira Khan and they became a well-loved onscreen couple.
After Sadqe Tumhare, fans have been waiting for Adnan Malik to return to the screens. He is set to make a comeback with drama serial, Gypsy.

Talking to Dawn Images, he shared, “Sadqay Tumhare was such a learning curve for me and in its entirety, the whole process definitely took a toll on me; I had gotten emotionally involved with my character so I decided it would be best to take some time off, return to directing. As time passed, it became evident to me how much acting had fine-tuned my directing skills as well and I just knew it was time to go back to school. I read a bunch of scripts, there was also interest from across the border but nothing clicked quite like Gypsy.”
About his character, “I play the role of Sikander, who’s an aspiring photographer, a part of him that resonates with me because that’s what peaked my interest in the arts, when my father bought me my first camera. He’s a very rugged, outdoorsy kinda guy, very different from Khalil. There’s just this lightness to him. So the show revolves around this guy who’s a bit of a wanderer and his equation with two ladies, a non-traditional love triangle of sorts.”

Penned by Faiza Iftikhar, produced by Momina Duraid and directed by Siraj-ul-Haq, drama serial, Gypsy is expected to go on air on HumTV towards the end of 2016.
Adnan Malik will be seen alongside Mira Sethi and Mawra Hocane.

Dil Lagi – Episode 11

This was a beautifully shot episode with so many wondrous moments. I am sure some viewers will be very tempted to talk about how right or wrong it is to go to shrines, I personally feel that there was much more to this episode than just that therefore I would appreciate it if we discuss the developments in the story, acting and direction instead of sticking to that one topic!!

This episode opened with Mishaal refusing to accept Dastagir’s offer to drop her back home. The dialogue about the smirk on Dastagir’s face was very true and funny! Later on his conversation with Mohid also showed how fascinated he was with Mishaal. Dastagir is cute, witty and very funny. Mishaal is simple but at the same time she knows how to refuse an offer she is not comfortable with and she definitely believes in speaking her mind! Love both these actors in their respective roles and I find Dastagir’s fascination with Mishaal really cute!

dillagi1

The information Mishaal gave Mohid breathed new life into him and gave him yet another reason to try harder to make Anmol realize that his love for her was far stronger than the hatred Anmol felt for him. The way Mohid kept on dragging Fareed into their conversations was hilarious! He now knows that Anmol does not love this man but she despises him and she wouldn’t want to talk about him therefore he kept on talking about him to annoy her! As far as the scenes between Mohid and Anmol are concerned this had to be my most favorite episode because Mohid was a clear winner in this one. Also, for a change we did not hear the same dialogues from Anmol which were gradually becoming a part of every episode. There were also plenty of light moments between these two. Hamayun Saeed is very convincing in this role; he makes you like Mohid more than any other actor could have. Mohid is genuine – that is one thing about his character which is admirable. He has never lied to get what he wanted. He is also very intelligent and believes in speaking his mind just like his wife but he does not hurt people with his words, especially people who care for him and who he respects. There is an undeniable chemistry between Mehwish Hayat and Hamayun Saeed which makes their scenes complete.

dillagi2

This episode was full of meaningful conversations which were very touching. Mohid’s brief conversation with Mishaal and the one he had with Anmol’s mother showed that although he had not been able to win his wife’s heart but he has definitely succeeded in convincing Mishaal and her mother that he is a good person. Mohid does not need to show the kind of love and respect he shows to Anmol’s family but he does that because he thinks of them as family. Unlike Anmol he is not ‘using’ them for his short term goals. Anmol tried to convince Sabiha to run away because that would have worked in Anmol’s favor. Sabiha on the other hand proved that she was not as selfish as Anmol was! Mohid and Sabiha both have one thing in common – there are times when they put other people’s happiness before their own. Tonight for the first time we saw Anmol actually listening to her mother because she did not want to upset her again. There was definitely a change in Anmol’s character in tonight’s episode, she seems to be softening up or maybe she cannot find a way out yet! Anmol’s desperate phone calls to Fareed and his reaction was also an interesting addition. The scenes at the shrine were beautifully shot, they were meaningful and visually pleasing. The only problem was that it was supposed to be really hot but Mohid and Anmol were wearing very warm shawls and it was quite apparent that it was actually quite cold since Mohid was wearing a jacket before they left also!

dillagi3

Another scene which I thoroughly enjoyed was Mohid’s mother’s brief conversation with the woman who was sharing her problems with her. That woman’s remark was spot on!!! Mohid’s mother was always seen siding with the woman never the in laws before but now she knows better! All these ironic yet funny scenes were the highlight of tonight’s episode. Saba Hameed’s wardrobe just like her acting in this serial is superb. I love all these colors on her and the grace with which she carries these outfits. I especially liked Mehwish Hayat’s acting in those scenes in which she was clueless!

What makes Dil Lagi different from many other plays which showed similar scenarios in the past too are the intriguing characters, the subtle yet impactful gestures by these characters which define the relationship they have with each other and most importantly the fact that every single dialogue and every scene is beautifully written and directed. Tonight’s episode had to be one of my most favorite episodes of Dil Lagi because all the scenes were very meaningful and I love the turn the story has taken. Watching Mohid start afresh with no doubts in his mind was definitely better than watching Anmol play games with him. I am waiting to find out what exactly does Mohid have in mind. He is not the kind of person who will do anything which Anmol will find insulting in any way therefore it is impossible to guess what his next move will be.

I am eagerly looking forward to what turn the story and Anmol and Mohid’s relationship will take in the next episode. How many of you watched this latest installment? Please share your thoughts about it.

Sehra Main Suffer – The End!

Ohkay so, usually when the drama’s are about to end, the viewers gete curious & await the last episode eagerly but I tried watching it twice & it didn’t grab my attention so I decided to put in on hold. Just completed this episode after quite a few hours of its airing & I must say I am going to ask again, was this episode necessary? The answer is no because this episode didn’t make an iota of a contribution in Iqra’s journey & it just brought forward the non-issues of an insecure spoiled immature boy who didn’t need this much of attention since we weren’t given a chance to warm up to his character, therefore understanding & feeling his predicament was out of question & he just seemed like an unthankful boy who got everything that he wanted in his life & didn’t really understand the value of it!!!

All of a sudden, we were taken forward to the point where everything in Iqra’s life was settled, so why didn’t this drama end at that note? If I look back, last week’s episode would’ve been a perfect ending because Ayaaz understood & gave Iqra the freedom to make decisions for her family. Ayaaz got a chance to establish himself & things were sorted, so why did the writer believe that we’d be interested to find out Mr. Mamur’s thoughts on his Amaan jaan’s nokri whereas he should’ve been shown as someone who had a lot of appreciation for what his mother had done for the entire family. I can’t wrap my head around the fact that a child who grew up in a loving environment where both the parents had a mutual understanding of certain things, could turn out to be so insecure, bitter & immature that he would give priority to his parent’s nashta that too expecting it from his future wife to take care of it on his behalf?

This entire episode was written for the conversation that happened between Iqra & Mamur where she makes him understand how it is alright for a girl to pursue a career especially after she has invested so much of time & money in her education & voila everything was sorted? So only apart from this meaningful scene, there was nothing that sparked an interested & there was absolutely nothing that this episode offered so I am still wondering why was the drama extended till this episode & why was it dragged for no good reason. Mamur ended up becoming another one of those short-lived villains who had no substance whatsoever that we often came across during the course of this journey!

The drama ended at a note where Iqra got to convince her son that it’s alright for his fiancee to be doing a job & that’s it? I have never seen such a meaningless & weak ending before. Where are Iqra’s parents? Where’s Ayaaz’s brother & his wife? That’s the thing with our writers & directors that they drag the story so much & unnecessarily fill the last few episodes with not-so interesting situations & when it comes to the last episode, they either have so much to wrap up or don’t really pay attention to how the drama should end, because of which a lot of supporting characters who get a lot of coverage in the beginning are ignored in the end. I think the writers & the producers really need to understand that dragging & stretching the drama doesn’t benefit anyone at all rather it ruins the drama completely. The note where Ayaaz understands the importance of Iqra’s job after he meets an accident was a perfect point to end this drama so I hope after this, the producers understand that if a story is appropriate for 16-18 episodes then they should leave it that way rather than hoping to reach the 20+ episode mark which serves no purpose & ruins the drama in the end totally! Anyways, the drama began at a good note & not sure what happened mid way. The acting of all the actors was good but Zarnish Khan stood out the most, she really is a talented actor & I hope she chooses her projects wisely. I think this drama is good for binge-watching because when I watched the initial episodes back to back, they seemed really interesting but when I had to watch this drama on weekly basis, that’s when the slow pace really kicked in & made it hard to sit through the episodes. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this entire journey of Sehra Main Safar.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

ps: This will be my last review for now as I am taking a week off for a mini trip to KSA. I will cover all the missed episodes once I return Insha Allah! :)

The movie is said to mark the return of Babra Sharif as she will be playing the role of Bilal Ashraf’s mother while Mustafa Qureshi will play the father’s character.

Tum Yaad Aye – The Junoonis! – Episode 17

So the pace of this episode was decent, ending at the point we had begun to predict a while ago. It seems inevitable that Zainy and Ahmer will end up together – now how long that union stays and how it ends is another matter.

Following Sherry’s confrontation with Zainy last week, both of them seem to be sulking with a shrewd, ‘all sensors on’ Nigar Apa being their avid audience. Sherry is apparently going away to Germany for a month. His conversation with Zainy in the garden made me laugh and shake my head. Really Sherry? Botany 101? Is that your romantic bye bye to the love of your life? Maybe Zainy is rubbing off on me a bit but Sherry does seem a bit bland. Sure, he is solid and dependable and that is important but with the impression we are given of Zainy’s ‘genes’ I think what Zainy wants is excitement and not dependability, hence the reason Ahmer is so much more attractive to her than Sherry.

PIC1

Ahmer has woken from his coma with a guilty conscience. We learn he and Bina ‘broke up’ prior to the accident and while Ahmer was in the hospital the producers visited and informed Mina that Ahmer will be replaced in the drama/movie he was acting in earlier. With his world falling apart around him and his mother thinking ‘kissi ki aah lag gayi’ and that kissi although unspoken seems to be pointing at Zainy, loud and clear. They have all wronged Zainy they now realize. Phuppo’s statement left me aghast though. I thought it was genuine love for Zainy she felt but I suppose she was not aloof or immune to Zainy’s Abba’s riches and says to her sister in law that had Ahmer married Zainy he would have had ‘rupaya, paisa and his own production house!’. Shame on you Phuppo!

If Mehtaab so strongly felt that shaadi was the solution to Zainy’s problem then she really should not have opted for Sherry for the very reasons she cites to Zainy about how delicate and fragile this whole net of relationships is and because she knows very well how deeply in love Zainy still is with Ahmer. There was a time when Zainy adored Sherry and now we see her grimacing when he rings her and cutting him short. Yes I fault Zainy for being ungrateful and bratty when she talks back to her parents and her attention seeking dramatic antics. But I do believe she is being bullied into this marriage and she very clearly says to her mother that she can not forget Ahmer and yes now she is engaged she could accept it and move on but we know Zainy is not that strong. I figured it would only be a matter of time when she gives in when Ahmer reaches out to her and that did turn out to be the case.

Using his mother to ring Zainy under the pretense that Phuppo is unwell, Zainy shows up and sees Ahmer. Where Sherry is quiet and dependable, Ahmer is all dramatic and passionate and his ‘meri aankhon mein dekho’ and ‘tum meri ho’ is supposedly what Zainy yearns to hear and although she flounces off then, Ahmer does tell his mother that she will come back. Another insight into Zainy’s father’s personality – he was junooni, as is Zainy, as is Ahmer. Ahmer’s words, not mine! I did say earlier that Ahmer is a male version of Zainy and it was amusing to hear him utter the same words. Further insight into her father’s personality comes in the conversation Nigar has with her father when she says that Zainy’s biological father also suffered from depression and she feels it is a disease that has been passed onto Zainy and could be further passed onto her- and Sherry’s – children.

PIC 2

Novera. Walking talking information channel. I wondered at the purpose of Novera’s role in this drama I am fast learning what her purpose is! She ‘informs’ Nigar about Zainy’s depression and her therapy sessions and conveniently ‘informs’ Ahmer about Zainy’s whereabouts when she goes to Lahore. The smiles exchanged between Ahmer and Zainy at the end of the episode make it quite clear that she has forgiven him and will go back to him now.

I found Ahmer’s sudden realization of how he has wronged Zainy and how he is in love with her a bit hard to believe. What he said about how he thought she would not go anywhere and he thought ‘mera haq hai uss par’ made me think it fed his ego to have her pine after him. Whether it is Bina ditching him or believing that his accident and downfall is a result of having hurt Zainy’s innocent heart, or whatever, he does seem to be hell bent on having Zainy back in his life. And has left no stone unturned to make sure Zainy knows it.

Now that Zainy seems to be clear on what she wants and since Ahmer and his family want the same I guess she will be married off to him with Mehtaab and Abba giving in and Sherry putting a ‘pathar on his heart’ and stepping back. The thing with this play is that everyone is giving a good performance but nobody truly stands out. Agha Ali fits comfortably and convincingly into his dependable guy role whereas Munib Butt is actually pretty alright as the hot headed, junooni guy bent on winning back his junooni soul mate. I did cringe when Sherry laughed and said ‘sharma gayee’ when Zainy was short with him. I thought this guy knew her inside out – Sherry is turning out to be Mr. Not So Perfect.

Next week’s episode’s promo shows that Zainy has not wasted any time in letting her parents know what she wants now that Ahmer has her back, so to speak. Bring on the tantrums! How many of you watched this latest episode? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Deewana – Episode 05 & 06!

Ohkay so, these two episodes of Deewana were interesting like the previous episode but there were a few bits & bobs that were off-putting which were ‘solely’ related to the continuous crying & a lot of unnecessary screaming, but with that being said, I enjoyed the rest of the scenes a lot & it was good to find out more about Falak aka Adam.

Even though I do feel for Shama, I feel she tends to go a bit overboard with her husband & her daughter. Obviously, that is understandable too because she has no one else to share her feelings with but she needs to understand that just like her, her husband & her daughter, both are dealing with their emotional baggage too. If Shama is depressed, so is her husband & if Shama is disturbed, then so is Mehru too. I feel that Shama puts a lot of blame on Subhan for the things he is not responsible for because she would’ve been in his shoes, she also would’ve fallen prey to such a seemingly sincere apology. Also, it is a bit sad that Shama doesn’t leave an opportunity to let Mehru know that she is the root cause of all the problems. I find it a bit too mean of her because if a mother can’t relate to what her daughter is going through, then that’s a big problem. At times I feel that in Shama’s comparison, Chanda Bee sympathizes with Mehru & understands her pain more.

It is good to see that Mehru has decided to deal with her pain her way, which doesn’t involve incessant crying. Yes, she tends to get a bit emotional here & there but that is natural considering how she has lost not only the love of her life but her husband too. Haris is still in love with Mehru but with parents like Tabrez & Amtul, he knows he doesn’t stand a chance of stating that he wants to be with his wife Mehru & wants to put her out of this misery because she is not responsible for what his sister Rabeea went through but if only he wasn’t such a chicken!

I must say I enjoyed the scenes of Falak & his interaction with Mehru’s family a lot. Looks like this is the first family of humans that Falak has gotten in contact with, that is why he is finding it hard to maintain a distance from them, since he knows that they are in deep trouble, so he wants to help them out as much as he can to bring a smile on their faces. I loved his interaction with Chanda Bee & Shama. I must say the timing of Shehroz Sabzwari as Falak is phenomenal, he seems so comfortable as Falak that it is becoming a treat to watch his character. I really like how Chanda Bee is so engrossed in her own thoughts that at times she ignores the most obviously odd things like Mehru’s solo conversations while she hallucinates & now Falak’s own confession of him being 500 years old, haha, cute!!!

Well, it was good to see that Mehru decided to rely on Falak in order to find her father because she knows that he has gone out of the way to help her, so she knew that he will help her this time around too. I also liked that Mehru decided to knock some sense into Shama’s head that she has been quite rude & harsh with not only Mehru but with her husband Subhan too, that is why he left the house & chose to wander aimlessly as he knew that if he’d stay with Shama, her nagging & taunting will not stop. I actually hoped that this will make her realize how bitter & harsh she has been but sadly, she didn’t budge & chose to stay the same.

Shabnam knows that she has hit a jackpot & that is why she is making the most out of it. She knows that Amtul & Tabrez’s hatred for Subhan’s family has blinded them, that is why they will do everything to torture them, therefore she decided to put a price tag on it for her own benefit. It is actually quite sickening that even after Amtul & Tabrez have destroyed Subhan’s family completely, they are still not backing off, but I am glad that now Falak has appeared out of nowhere, he will make sure to protect & take care of this family sincerely & wholeheartedly.

Well, as far as I believe & going by the voice over, I think Aly Khan will be playing the role of Agha. Agha seems to be in love with Falak’s mother Husn Ara & looks like Agha is the sort of a person who believes in getting what he likes, that is why he shamelessly told Husn Ara to accept his feelings because that will ensure Falak’s safety. I am sure Agha knows what sort of a person Falak is & how he can walk an extra mile for the sake of helping others, so I believe there will come a time when Agha will use this trait of Falak against him in order to blackmail or emotionally upset Husn Ara.

Overall, both these episodes were really good but yes, I will say, the yelling & crying is putting me off big time. I must say I find it amusing that the one who’s not a human being seems more humanly than those who’re humans because all of them are unnecessarily loud & gesticulate so exaggeratingly that they end up looking like caricatures. I hope Shama, Tabrez, Haider & Mehru tone down their expressions & loudness a couple of notches because all the things that they spoke about didn’t need such high-pitched voices. Yes, we get it, they all are mentally & emotionally disturbed but things should’ve been a bit smoother & should’ve also been easier on viewer’s eyes & ears. I must say, I am highly impressed by Shehroz Sabzwari’s acting in Deewana as Falak, at times he did remind me of Amir Khan’s performance in the Hindi movie PK but I am not saying it in a negative way. Falak is nice & cute, he is humorous & has a happy-go-lucky nature, which I am sure Mehru won’t be able to resist the charm of for too long. Everyone else is acting nicely too but I wish as the episodes progress, their emotions settle down a bit. Also, I must add, I love the dressing & makeup of all the ladies in this drama, the stylists have done a great job. The direction & the editing of Deewana has been amazing too which is an added bonus. Please share your thoughts about these two episodes of Deewana.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Ali Kazmi Making It Big!

Ali Kazmi is the son of veteran actors Rahat and Sahira Kazmi. We best know him from Jackson Heights, where he played Sikandar, an abusive husband. Viewers loathed Sikandar and that says a lot about Ali Kazmi’s convincing performance. Currently, we can see him in Sehra Mein Safar on HUMTV.

It is revealed that Ali Kazmi is currently shooting for the television prequel of The Taken trilogy by Liam Neeson. Talking to Dawn Images, he shared, ”I play Marzoki, a fast talking, sharp, quirky analyst,” He explained that the Taken TV series will explore the character of Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson – one of my favourite actors) in great detail.

1098929-image-1462635572-123-640x480

“I am proud to be a part of the main cast. I play one of the good guys, no ridiculous casting or dressing. I’m really ecstatic to be representing South Asians in a good light and I’m happy that NBC is taking bigger and better steps for more diverse smart casting! The world is full of so many colours, why not the casting for TV, so it’s a step in the right direction.”
Talking to Express Tribune, Kazmi speaks about his selection, “It was a coveted role to bag. I returned from working on Dobara Phir Se and sent my tapes and they loved it. The director, Alex Graves has previously worked on The Newsroom, West Wing and Game of Thrones. For him to choose me for the role was a big deal.”

We wish him all the best for his projects!

Mein Sitara – Episode 11

This was another superb episode of Mein Sitara which covered Sitara’s guilt, the change in Farhad’s feelings and Jharna’s journey from being doubtful to being quite sure that there was something going on between Sitara and her husband. Like every other episode of Mein Sitara this one too was a must watch because this is one of those very few dramas which should be followed every week. Every episode adds something important to the story and most importantly the way the feelings of different characters are changing especially in these episodes makes them an unmissable treat.

Farhad was already struggling to contain his feelings for Sitara – something which was quite clear from the scene last week in which he shouts at Jamal for getting too close to her. Farhad was angry after that scene, he shouted at Saleem for the first time because it was very hard for him to come into terms with his feelings. Jharna’s age or her attitude had very little to do with what had happened but it definitely added to the time which Farhad spent away from home and on the sets. Sitara’s confession at the end of the previous episode gave Farhad the license to share his true feelings with Sitara. Sitara expressed her ‘interest’ in Farhad in a weak moment but she wanted to go back to being the way they were before that night. Farhad however is blinded by his fascination for Sitara (I won’t call it love!) and he managed to convince Sitara that she didn’t need to hide her feelings. Mikaal Zulfiqar and Saba Qamar both were beyond brilliant in this episode. The acting of both these actors has been top-notch right from the start but the scenes which we saw today were exceptional.

ms1

Farhad, like any other man blames his wife although he knows that he is the one cheating on her. He does not want to feel guilty because like he says to Sitara he has the right to be ‘happy’! Sitara on the other hand realizes that all of this is wrong. The way Sitara’s guilt and confusion was portrayed on screen tonight was absolutely fantastic. The writer and the director both have made sure that they add every little detail which matters. There isn’t a single moment in this drama when you question the motives of the characters or wonder what is going on in their mind. Sitara is attracted towards Farhad but at the same time she does not want to betray her baji.

Jharna was doubting Farhad even when he was not having an affair and even when he had not ‘changed’ therefore I found it really difficult to feel for her! What Farhad is doing is very wrong, no doubt but the fact is that Jharna expected him to do just that! It was almost as if she spent the past few years planning how she would tackle such a situation! She had been planning to fight this battle even when there was absolutely no reason for it therefore I am waiting to see what she does now! Had Jharna trusted her husband blindly and Sitara too, it would have been a completely different story. Jharna’s character is very realistic, there is no doubt about that. She is much older than Farhad and she was always insecure because of her age. Now that her husband is busy with his career, she feels left our and unlike before because she is so filled with doubt she doesn’t even talk about his work the way she used to. I wasn’t however expecting her to leave the city at this point. She has always put her foot down whenever she wanted something and even though she is heartbroken right now, she is still practical enough to do something about the situation.

ms3

The scene between Jharna and Saleem was the highlight of this episode; it was very convincing. Saleem had just witnessed something ‘shocking’ and he also wasn’t expecting Jharna to ask him this question therefore that was another shock so he was unable to cover up for his boss! The actor playing Saleem is doing a commendable job, love his get up and acting both. It was also good to see Sitara finally confronting her mother even if it was on the phone. First time around she thought her parents were majbur but this time she knew they were greedy too therefore she said what she had felt all these years but at the same time she knows she cannot back out of this commitment.

The preview of the next episode was dhamakedar. Saying that I am looking forward to the next episode would be an understatement, I will literally be counting days!

Mein Sitara has been very exciting and engaging so far. Like every other play penned down by Faiza Iftikhar this one too is spot on! The writer has covered every little detail and she has etched -out some very interesting characters. The director Seema Taher Khan has put in her best effort which is why she has succeeded to breath life into every scene. Saba Qamar and Mikaal Zulfiqar were the stars of the show tonight. There are very few dramas in which every actor suits the role they are playing and this is definitely one of them.

How many of you watched this latest installment? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it.

Syra Shahroz’s New Project – Chalay Thay Saath

Syra started as a VJ at MTV Pakistan hosting Bheja Fry and Most Wanted. With projects like Mera Naseeb and Bilqees Kaur, she rose to fame and became a household name. She made a special appearance in Ho Mann Jahan’s song, Shakar Wandaan, but apart from that, we haven’t seen her on the big screen.

Talking to PakistanToday, Syra revealed that she will be making her full-fledged cinematic debut with Chalay Thay Saath. “I kept getting scripts that I would like but something or the other about it wouldn’t sit right. This one clicked because it’s not just revolving around one thing; it will shed light on love, friendship, family values.”

About her character, she says, “I will be playing the role of Resham, who’s a doctor by profession. People have these preconceived notions about doctors being serious or very stuck in their ways but she’s not like that. She’s very fun loving and adventurous and the story is about her and her friends taking a trip up north.”

The producer, Beenish Parvez tells that the film’s like a travelogue but about everyday people like you and me. “The dialogues are very real, the story will start off on a lighter note and get a bit more dramatic as time will go by but still rooted in reality.

The cast of Chalay Thay Saath includes Behroz Sabzwari, Shamim Hilali, Mansa Pasha, Zhalay Sarhadi, Faris Khalid etc.

She won numerous awards, including Lux Style Award for Best Actress. The fact that she will be seen alongside Shah Rukh Khan in her Bollywood debut, Raees, says volumes about her success as an actor.

Last night, the first ever Femina Middle East Women Awards were held at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai. The awards aimed to recognize and appreciate the incredibly talented women out there who are proving themselves in their respective fields.

“The story of the film revolves around my character which makes it all the more interesting. It is about Karachiities basically, so it’s quite relatable.”

Usually after Pakistani films the next big step for some Pakistani celebrities is Bollywood and Sana Javed is open to the idea with some reservations. She said,

Judaii – ‘Too much to Handle’! – Episodes 14 & 15

Kia inn kay haq ki khatir aap apnay bachon kay khilaaf khari ho sakti hain is the question Junaid poses to Mehr and is basically what this drama is all about now. Where it was kind of necessary to show how everyone reacted (yawn) last week, the episode was not as interesting as last night’s episode was.

Having brought Zaina and Zaryan back with her and following Haider’s tantrum and Hamza’s gobsmacked-ness (!!), Mehr realizes that she can not have Zaina and Zaryan stay at her house just yet. So the two end up staying at Junaid’s house much to his wife’s horror and resentment. However negative a character I feel Saman generally is and yes we all feel bad for Zaryan and Zaina but I could not totally fault Saman for being wary of having two strangers come live under her roof and not even asked for her opinion (which was predictable anyway but still). Well, from the frying pan into the fire, Zaina and Zaryan did look completely awkward and out of place at Junaid’s house.

So, let’s forget about Mehr whose husband had a secret which she learns of after his death, let’ forget about Haider and Hamza whose father had another family they did not know of, forget Zaina and Zaryan and the hardships they faced and are still facing. Let’s focus on the people who have been most affected by all this chaos – Alia and her mother. ‘Kissi ko moo dikhanay kay layek nahin rahay’. Tsk,tsk. Alia feels she is absolutely justified in saying what she wants to Mehr. I understand Mehr is a mild natured woman and she is confused and upset at the moment but I wish she was a bit more firm with Alia when Alia went on ranting about how ‘ayaash’ and ‘bewafa’ her father in law had been. Team Alia up with kaan ka kacha Haider and the crickets and there you have the ‘villains’ in this drama. Sigh.

PIC1

When Hamza meets Minahil and tells her who Zaina really is, the way he speaks and looks, made me feel he was going to be physically sick. Later when he meets Zaina he has the same expression and I thought man, is it the restaurant or the food or what but as his conversation with Haider later shows, he feels Zaina and he are as good as siblings. So, Alia’s internet finally did resume working and she finds herself face to face with an on screen smiling Zaina. All hell breaks loose. Obviously. With Hamza’s quivering voice and ‘oh this is too much to handle’ for the umpteenth time and Alia’s screeching and pursed lips with Haider’s parrot like rant of ‘I am saying what Alia just said’ – the trio have seem to have established that Zaina is Hamza’s sister. Wah. Okay, had I not watched Tum Yaad Aye I might have had a slightly more tolerant attitude to all this distress but in Tum Yaad Aye where a father is becoming a susr and a sister almost became a saas and yes, mix and match all relationships you can think of – they were there – you can not blame me for snorting at ‘Zaina is your behnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn’!

Amidst lots of ‘mahiyaaaaaaaaaaaa hoooooooooooooo mahiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa’, Hamza tells Zaina all is over between them. I love when Qurat ul Ain Baloch croons in the background of this drama, she has such a beautiful and soulful voice but this mahiya wail is so annoying. I liked Minahil’s character but maybe I am being a bit cynical here and maybe it is for the cynical people that this drama shows there are people like Mehr and Minahil around (possibly) but I do feel Faryal Mehmood marching here and there with her bag on her arm at a permanent 2pm or 10pm whichever way you look at it – is trying a tad bit too hard to fit into the character she is portraying. Was it my imagination or did Affan Waheed have his lipstick look here too as he does in Bhai? Or maybe the shirt brought out the ‘color’ on his face? And Neelum’s blue shirt with the dark dupatta was very military like and distracting. Sana Askari and Khalid Malik’s characters are annoying and negative as hell but they have played their part well. I missed the scenes between Imran Aslam and Samina Peerzada and I hope there are more of them to come yet. If something sticks out like a sore thumb in this drama, it is the pair of Affan Waheed and Neelum Munir who fail to make me feel for their characters. Khair, that is just my opinion maybe because I have had enough of his quivering voice from Guzarish , Bhai and now Judai. I understand some of you may feel differently.

PIC 2

All in all, I did enjoy the latest episode and glad Zaina’s identity has been revealed and was not dragged out. Also it will be interesting to see how things pan out with Zaina and Zaryan back in Mehr’s house. How will Mehr deal with the negativity and when will she find out too who Zaina is and do her feelings change in the slightest? When will someone get these guys a mufti who can explain that Hamza and Zaina are well, not actually siblings? Or should I forego my thoughts of a career as a psychiatrist since Minahil seems to be doing a great job understanding everyone’s psychology and play the role of a mediator instead and have this family meet Zainy’s family from Tum Yaad Aye so they can exchange notes on who is mahram and who is not!

How did you all find these episodes and the pace at which the drama is moving? Did you enjoy them or find them ‘too much to handle’? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Adnan Sarwar Takes Steps To Counter Piracy

Adnan Sarwar is a talented director and actor who rose to fame with the film, Shah, a biopic of legendary Pakistani boxer, Syed Hussain Shah. On 21st May, Saturday, Shah went on air on ARY Digital, and after its TV run, Shah team uploaded it on YouTube.

Talking to Dawn Images, Adnan Sarwar reasoned, ”We knew so many people would be recording the film on (substandard) resolution (on Saturday). Our strategy was to counter the film’s piracy and release the film online on our own terms.”

With complete English subtitles and high picture and sound quality, it happens to be the first recent Pakistani film available on YouTube in this form.

Adnan Sarwar clearly knows what he is doing and had interesting things to say about the entertainment industry, ”Over the course of years we have been involved in the entertainment industry, we’ve made it a habit of doing things no one’s done before. We’re early adapters of technology. Even as musicians, we were one of the first to put our music up on Facebook pages. We realized early on that we can’t fight music piracy. It’s the same with film torrents.”

5743fae9c3578 He is hopeful about the future of Pakistani film industry, and also revealed plans for his next film, Parwaaz, which as he puts it, is a coming-of-age, emotional family drama that will be a completely different experience for him. Here’s hoping that he makes it big!

Tum Kon Piya – Episode 10

This episode of Tum Kon Piya wasn’t extraordinary but even then it is a decent play to watch on a weekday. The story is simple but some of the characters keep you guessing and there is a scenario in every episode which surprises you. The most intriguing character right now is that of Arif, there is a good reason why there is so much focus on this angry young man who is surely not capable of much. He has a low self-esteem and tries to cover it up by putting the blame on his family. He wants attention but is not willing to do anything to get somewhere in life. The last scene of this episode was also very significant. Zarbab found out how rich and influential Ramish was and he wants to keep in touch with him. Which makes me wonder if Arif will end up working for Ramish and this would lead to a constant connection between Elma’s in laws and Ramish. This of course is just a wild guess because for now I can’t think of any other reason why Arif’s failure in life is being given so much attention. The last scene was also very important because it showed how different Zarbab was from Elma and even Ramish. Money or status never mattered to both these people but for Zarbab it is everything; he thinks people who have these two should be treated with more respect!! Wasn’t this the kind of thinking which Waqar Ali was trying to escape when he married Elma to Zarbab?

tkp

Unlike the last episode Elma was shown thinking about Ramish. I found those scenes funny especially because it seemed like Ramish was an imaginary fairy god mother who appeared whenever Elma shed a tear – a tear drop away!!! It is however natural for Elma to think about Ramish. He is there in her thoughts when she is lonely or sad. Zarbab likes Elma, he tries his best to care for her but he is not as sensitive as Elma. Even when Waqar Ali talked to them about Elma’s sister’s marriage he was too busy looking at his phone and wasn’t interested in the conversation. A boy who has been raised by Sharaft Begum and has been brought up in such a household couldn’t possibly do better than that! I liked the fact that like a typical shaki husband Zarbab did not question his wife as to why this man would gift her such an expensive watch.

So far every development in this drama has been very convincing but Elma’s majburis and problems seem forced which makes it difficult for the viewer to feel for her. Elma never informed Zarbab that they were invited for dinner and she did not call her father and make an excuse. The whole thing was blown out of proportion, yes these small things hurt but then someone like Elma should have been able to handle the situation more decently. All of Elma’s sisters’ conversations revolve around their aapi right from day one which is why their characters are dull and boring.

tkp1

My favorite scene in tonight’s episode was the one that lead to Muzzaffar Hassan’s heart attack (which it looks like was real). Ramish wasn’t arguing with his father when it happened but he was actually trying to tell him that there were other ways in which he could prove that he was a good son. This marriage with Sunbal is like a business deal for Muzzafar Hassan and he will make sure that this deal is done because he does not believe in losing.

This episode was quite predictable but even then it was engaging enough. Apart from the problems Elma is facing in her susral everything else was covered well. Ramish’s next step was also a nice change since the same conversations revolving around money and status were getting repetitive. Imran Abbas acted well in tonight’s episode except for the scenes in which Elma imagined he was there, once again his dialogue delivery seemed rushed in those scenes. Ayeza Khan is brilliant as Elma, she makes her character more likeable. Yasir Shoro has managed to grab the viewers attention by making Arif’s character come to life and for now I am definitely more interested in his track because I have a feeling he will have an important role to play in the story. Ali Abbas is a natural; his effortless acting and clear dialogue delivery have truly impressed me. Hina Bayat is definitely doing justice to her role but I want to see a softer side of her character too or maybe a different side!! All the shouting gets to you after some time. Yasir Nawaz deserves credit for directing this play really well. It was good to see Elma wearing a simple dress and with a pony tail when she was cooking unlike many actresses who insist on looking like divas even when they are rotting in the kitchen! Yasir Nawaz has definitely paid attention to detail.

The preview of the next episode showed Muzzafar Hassan playing his last card which would mean that Ramish and Sunbal will eventually get married. Elma promised her father that she will help him out but Sharaft Begum will of course make sure that doesn’t happen!

How many of you watched this latest installment of Tum Kon Piya? Please share your thoughts about it.

Imran Abbas’ Latest Photo Shoot

0

Imran Abbas is known for his boyish charm even though it has been many years since he has been seen acting in dramas. He has played many different roles but the characters he has played the most are romantic in nature. Imran Abbas was seen criticizing Pakistani dramas in one of the Morning Shows in the recent past because he felt that Pakistani dramas were getting too bold and they were no longer family dramas. Imran Abbas also said that there was a time when he didn’t have much of a choice so he chose whichever project came his way but now he was in a position to refuse projects so he was only working in dramas which appealed to him. Imran Abbas has worked with the best directors and producers in the country.

Right now Imran Abbas is devoting all his energies to his next project which is the sequel of the play Khuda Aur Mohabbat. He is also seen modeling for different brands. His latest photo shoot was for a relatively new brand of Eastern wear Maaz Jee. Here are few pictures from the shoot:
