Balu Mahi had been caught up into the controversy and was claimed to be copying the film/poster concept from Bhansali Films but the actors previously cleared the air stating that it is merely a co-incidence.
The film is all set to release on February 10, 2017 and will feature Osman Khalid Butt, Ainy Jaffri and Sadaf Kanwal in the lead roles.

Images recently got in touch with one of the leads, Sadaf Kanwal. When asked about her role in the film Safad said:”My role is of a fun woman who is the head of a company. She’s glamorous but also blunt, for example. she’ll be dressed to the nines and end up making a gaffe.”
She added that her character, Sharmeen, is an authoritative businesswoman who’s also ‘mazaydar’.

When asked futher more about her role, Sadaf said:”She likes this man and travels with him throughout the journey [in the film]. The two share a romantic relationship and soon fall in love and my character tries to spend as much time with him as possible as the man she loves is very unpredictable and confused.”

She then went ahead and shared one of the beautiful memories from the shoot “It was my first day at the shoot in Hunza and it was the first time I was facing Haissam and the camera, the entire team was standing in front of me. Haissam says to me, ‘It’s time for your shot, the first scene,’ so I said, ‘okay.’ I got ready and went [to the set]. I was tensed because it’s Haissam, he’s such a big director and, whether I’ll remember my dialogues or not. I didn’t know what’d happen because Ainy [Jaffri] is very good and she had been working [on the Balu Mahi shoot] for the past few days and this was my first experience. But when I did my scene Haissam paused and then everyone clapped,” she recalled.

Item songs have always been a source of moral and ethical conflict in Pakistan. While some object to them since they are not in sync with our religious and cultural values, some are very defensive of them, especially those who receive monetary benefit through them.

Hamza Ali Abbasi has recently started a new debate about item songs with his new Facebook post. Here is what he has to say;

In the wake of his statement, some other people from our industry have spoken up in favour of them. They are Sadaf Kanwal and makers of Na Maloom Afraad 2, who have spoken to an online tabloid HIp about it. They are the faces behind the most recent Item song, kaif o suroor in which Sadaf Kanwal has danced.

Sadaf has said that she never felt objectified during the making or shooting of her item number. She really enjoyed the experience and songs just come and go. If they are good, they linger for a while. So one should enjoy rather than condemn them. According to her, Hamza himself did a tantalising piece, so what does he think of that !!

Filmmakers Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza want to ignore any such statement. They don’t feel the need to answer if someone speaks up against item songs, of which they have one in their movie.

Fahad Mustafa is playing one of the leads in the movie. He said that he believes you should concentrate on your own work, rather than enforcing your beliefs on anyone . He further added that Actor In Law does not have any item number but if the makers of this movie felt the need of one, there is nothing wrong with it. According to him, we appreciate such content worldwide but criticise when it happens in our own country and that is hypocritical. People are willingly doing and enjoying it.

Sadaf Kanwal was disappointed with all the releases this Eid. Four Pakistani movies released this Eid and two of them did decent business. Sadaf was not happy with any of them and pointed out that none of these films would have done well in case the Bollywood movies were allowed to release:
