“The things were going really rough and I shared with my friends. At one time in my life, I used to not know anything whatever is happening at my home. My family was used to my rebellious nature,” said Yashma.
Yashma poured her heart out and revealed, “I didn’t get the exact return from my friends. I made them my world but they didn’t make me part of their world. I think when you have a negative approach towards things you attract negative people. I made such kind of friends. At that time I was wanting lots of love, comfort, and acceptance. When you want to get accpeted you do a lot of stuff so I was taken for granted.”
Now after all this happened, there my battle with Allah started. When you’re in teenage life you don’t understand what you’re doing is something wrong and you don’t realize much. Then I start doing bad things because I saw nothing happens with bad people. You basically switch off the emotional button but somewhere in my head, there was fear of karma which I kept on suppressing. I won’t say which bad things I did but those things started making me feel guilty and burden increased inside my head, Yashma disclosed.
She further revealed, “At the age of 19, there was no one with whom I could vent out. All these things were going inside me and caused me depression and anxiety. I was diagnosed with clinical depression at the age of 19. That phase was the worst phase of my life because I was young and I couldn’t figure out what is happening with me. I had a panic attack later on. It was a difficult phase for me but I didn’t share it with my family. Later on, due to having anxiety and all I started staying at home and realized how nice my family is. Then I decided to change myself, I was the one who is wrong all this time. To stay away from the toxic environment I went to Australia for studies.”

Yashma Gill Shared Her Story Of Becoming A Muslim From An Atheist
It is very uncommon for all of us to see someone in Pakistan who is an Atheist. We believe that an Atheist is just an attention seeker or pretentious desi burger.
Yashma Gill in an interview with Samina Peerzada shared how she used to believe that there is no God and she started the battle with Allah. Her tough life-long journey brought her back to Allah and now she is a practicing Muslim.
“When you are young and depressed, you overly monitor everything. I started feeling like I have lost faith in God. I believed if there was some God my problems could have been solved, “ Yashma shared.
“When I was in Australia, I was famous in my university due to the reason I always argued with everyone on religion. Whenever somebody tried to tell me anything about religion I started asking many questions,” she continued.
“I met a friend ‘Warda’ and she was a hijabi. As soon as I saw her I thought I am never going to be her friend but she turned out to be so nice. She asked me to do one thing in Ramadan which was to pray five times a day and fast for the whole month. Just to prove her wrong I did all that. I used to listen to Zakir Naik as well. Slowly, the month passed and I did not feel anything has changed,” Yashma revealed.
Yashma shared that in the month of Ramadan she got a job, her problems with family solved and she got mental peace as well. As soon as the Ramadan ended, she again felt the same anxiety and negative thoughts. Then she realized all the good things which were happening with her were because of her connection with Almighty Allah. She shared her life-changing story on the show.

We are 3 siblings, a elder brother and 2 sisters and the other three stepsiblings a elder brother and 2 sisters. In this way we are 6 siblings altogether.”
“I always wanted to be an actress, so before even completing my O-levels I started working as a VJ for 6 months. My father got quite angry with my decision but he understood that it’s just hosting. As I started my O-levels my father strictly asked me to complete my education first and then do whatever you want to. After I completed my education and came back from Australia I asked my father that I’m done with my studies, now I want to become an actress but my father immediately refused”, added Yashma.
Yashma further added that “My mother was the one who supported me. My father didn’t talk to my mother for 6 months just because she supported me. After sometime my father realized that she’s working and nothing is wrong in it. Now what my parents say is that I’ve became independent, I work day and night so no one will marry me neither she’s interested to get married.”
