Nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan passed away in Islamabad on Sunday morning at the age of 85, after his health deteriorated. Sources said the nuclear scientist experienced discomfort in breathing after which he was brought to the hospital. However, his health took a turn for the worse when his lungs started bleeding. His funeral prayers will be offered at the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad at 3:30pm, said his family.

Basant is a cultural festival celebrated across the subcontinent and is popular in both India and Pakistan. The festival of Basant was first started in Punjab centuries ago and marks the arrival of the spring season, usually observed in March and April. Although Basant was banned in Pakistan for years, the government recently resumed it and scheduled the celebrations from February 6 to 8. People from all over Pakistan traveled to Lahore to celebrate the festival. Along with the general public, several celebrities were also spotted enjoying Basant, including Saboor Aly, Sajal Aly, Ali Ansari, and others. Maya Ali also shared a video celebrating Basant.
However, these celebrations have sparked severe public backlash, as celebrities continued to celebrate despite a violent attack on an Imam Bargah in Islamabad on February 6. Additionally, the nation is still grieving the victims of the Gul Plaza incident, the Teera Valley tragedy, and the ongoing unrest in Balochistan. Social media users have expressed deep disappointment over celebrities’ tone-deaf behavior, as many did not pause their festivities and continued celebrating with full zeal and zest. Swat tragedy shocked Pakistani celebrities like the whole nation. Pakistan unfortunately has one of the worst rescue systems in the world. From hanging carts in the sky to no regulations for fire exits, we get to witness the most painful tragedies just because help can never reach the stranded people. A similar thing happened to a family whose 18 people all died in a flash flood in the Swat river.
The family was stranded in the river for several hours till they all got swept away. No help arrived, no helicopters were sent. We have seen helicopters drying cricket grounds in this country but no one came to help the tax paying citizens. The family belonged to Sialkot and several dead bodies were recovered from the river. Many Pakistani stars are also horrified by the painful Swat tragedy. Mahira Khan, Saboor Aly, Zara Noor Abbas among others all shared their thoughts on the incident.

Nida Yasir is the only morning show host whose show is still running. Even with all her popularity, she is most often hated more than any other morning show host.
