Petrol prices have come to shock the nation like 8.0 magnitude earthquake. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was seen saying that he will not increase the prices and the government will absorb the shock of supply chain restriction earlier. The petrol pries were already at an all time high and now another bomb has been dropped by the government despite assurances.
Pakistani government has hiked the petrol and diesel prices overnight to an all time high. The petrol per liter stands at 458 PKR while diesel is at 570 PKR. This Eid Ul Fitr, five big Pakistani films have been released, all the films had crowd pulling and star studded cast, fans were going to theaters and supporting the local cinema on Eid Day. Fans supported artists but they were also giving their genuine public opinion that filmmakers need to up the game in order to survive. On, 6th May Marvel Movie, Dr Strange has been released which destroyed the local market. However, Pakistani filmmakers have a lot of reservations with the release of movie and many main stream actors including Dananeer Mobeen, Arsalan Naseer, Farhan Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Kinza Hashmi, Bilal Qureshi & Hareem Farooq spoke against Dr strange.
Lately, Dr Strange has snatched the film market and ousted Pakistani content. Amidst this situation, there are two schools of thought, one says to delay foreign movies as support to Pakistani content, the other school says that it is a high time Pakistani film makers need to create thoughtful content. Humaima Malick said to producers that cinema isn’t their TV channel where their Monopoly will work, she gave a reality check and urged industry to produce good content. Likewise, Mansha Pasha said that nobody will buy an expensive ticket for the content that has been made currently. Zahid Ahmed also said that good content will pull the audience, no matter how excellent a foreign movie is.

Nadia Khan is a renowned Pakistani television host and actor who often makes headlines for her morning show Rise and Shine, where she called out Talha Anjum for waving the Indian flag during his concert in Nepal. Not only this, she invited Talha Anjum to her show and held him accountable for an act that hurt the sentiments of the majority of the Pakistani nation. Talha Anjum, on the other hand, admitted his mistake and apologized. Social media users praised Nadia Khan, while Talha’s fans and friends defended him.

Celebrities have been on the receiving end of online harassment and bullying, with details of their private lives being made public and assumptions circulated in order to humiliate them, for years. The most recent actor to get caught up in a web of trolls was Hania Aamir, with the barrage of hate spiraling into a very public spat between her and ex Asim Azhar.
In a surprising and honestly quite unnecessary turn of events, singer Asim Azhar took this opportunity to post a cryptic tweet on social media. People were quick to figure out that the gif was a jab at ex Hania Aamir who was on the receiving end of a lot of hate. Replying to Asim Azhar Hania said “You can either be a celebrity, or a bitter ex with no dignity.” This did not sit well with Asim who has never publicly spoken about their relationship and breakup, despite being on the receiving end of mocking jokes and jabs. In a retaliatory message, Asim was quick to remind Hania of the time he was on the receiving end of trolling after their breakup.

Sardaar Ji 3 is an Indian Punjabi movie which has been scheduled to release on 27th June 2025. The film features a stellar cast, including Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa, Hania Aamir, Nasir Chinioti, and other popular Indian Punjabi actors. The film isn’t releasing in India due to the presence of Pakistani actors in it. Hania Aamir is playing one of the main leads in the movie. Indian actors, news anchors and people are angry at Diljit Dosanjh for his bold decision of releasing the movie worldwide but Pakistani celebrities are supporting his decision and the release of Sardaar Ji 3 in Pakistan.
Yasir Hussain expressed his happiness on the the release on the film. He wrote, “Bajaey India Janey Ke Yeh Larki Neeru Bajwa or Diljit Dosanjh KO Pakistan Le Ai he – Instead of going to India, this girl brought Neeru Bajwa and Diljit Dosanjh to Pakistan. Let’s Welcome the neighbours in Pakistani style.”
Urwa Hocane also supported the release in Pakistan, saying, “Sardaar Ji 3 is a win on many levels. First because our fellow actor Hania Aamir is representing us, our Pakistani film and TV industry on International platform that too for the right reasons because in the given time seeing Diljit Dosanjh Team reject an entire audience and industry that’s gone astray with fake propaganda and hate against Pakistan, puts him on the right side of the history. Talking about Hania Aamir’s film, Meera jee said, “Hania Aamir and Diljit Dosanjh’s film should get love and support from the audience and they should watch it. Sargodha city just witnessed a horrific crime today when 7 year old Muntaha was brutally raped and killed. The case went viral on media and social media as it marked yet another case of violence against women and children while they are going on in their normal life. A CCTV video of the victim’s last moments has been found by the police.
Muntaha was just 7 years old. She went to buy snacks from her local shop in Sargodha where she went missing. When she did not return, her family started searching for her while police was also involved. Police found her walking towards the shop at the local street and then she went missing. She was taken and raped by the shopkeeper and his accomplice. She died due to the brutality and they left her on the roof where her body was discovered. Here is her last CCTV footage:
Two people have been arrested in this case. Like normal people, Pakistani celebrities are also horrified and they are raising their voice for justice. Mishi Khan, Iqra Aziz, Imran Abbas and others posted and demanded justice for Sargodha’s Muntaha.
