Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha Episode 24- Viewers Frustrated By Toxicity Of Characters

Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha started out as a promising drama with some of the biggest stars in the cast and people were falling all over it for its magical OST. Maheer has become one of the most hated characters on television now and now she is blaming everyone under the sun in the latest episode but herself for everyone’s plight. Areeb is threatening to kill himself which once again makes zero sense while Saad did not take a stand for his dignity. Again!

So before switching on the typical tone & mean mode of mine I must say that all the comments & remarks I make about this drama DOES NOT intend to show any disrespect towards the actors (except Mikaal), I truly appreciate their acting skills & for this reason you won’t find any comment of mine directed at how they have acted in this serial. My focal point of criticism has been the director, writer & the editing team because they didn’t quite well conceive the idea of this drama & made the actors act. I have never once degraded Ahsan Khan, the main lead of this drama because I myself am a fan of his work & he was one of the reasons I decided to give this drama a go, so having said that I hope that the avid fans of these experienced actors do not think that I have something against them or doubt their acting, I am actually fed up with the CHARACTERS & not the ACTORS, so now I hope my rants come across a bit more clearly & unbiased!

Accha jee, Areeba ma’am who previously saw Arham literally with Narmeen’s dupatta in his hands never judged or doubted him & in fact she was the one who covered for him in front of Shakeel uncle back then but just now when she saw them standing together that too at enough of a distance where humanly it was impossible to hear what they both were talking about, Areeba had a fit of pagal-pan & she packed the suitcase which already had the clothes & despite the fact that she couldn’t really lock it she still managed to leave. According to Areeba what triggered the inner mosquito in her was the idea that Arham had loved Narmeen & still does, I mean c’mon lady, he was once engaged to Narmeen so wasn’t it clear to you that they had loved eachother before? I pitied Arham because I feel he has not at all given any reasons to Areeba to actually doubt him but still like I say she has a tinsy bit of an IQ therefore, she failed to understand her iklota husband. Well Areeba admitted in her weak moments that she FAILED an academic exam so yeah, what can we expect from a below-average student? LOL!

All this while she kept on telling her father that she came to spend time with him but still she was seen running away from him. Areeba’s papa was too busy imitating The Justin Bieber hairstyle that he forgot to check the look in her eyes that she was actually unhappy. I mean in the 19th episode they dared thinking there was a room left for any more unpleasant character where they introduced Areeba’s friend with a dukhi kahani. What new things did she tell or say to Areeba which Areeba couldn’tve found in Akhbar-e-Jahaan’s Teen Aurtain, Teen Kahaniyaan? If she wanted to learn a lesson she could’ve just read any of the stories & got hold of what she had to do in her life, it was as simple as that.

I don’t know why but during the whole episode I kept on giggling & what’s more funny was Shakeel Uncle calling Arham pagal kutta, LOL, I want to know if Arham heard that, what would he say? Awww what an awesome job done by the dialogue writer, hahhaha. Was it just me or actually Shakeel uncle’s phone conversation sounded extermely forced, funny, one-sided & acting-less? He looked just so awkward & totally like someone who was talking to himself & what’s more awkward was his position in which he sat on the bed & spoke on the phone (to himself). Oh Man! Things Arham has done to his family where his brother has become a din ka chimgadarh, his mother ran away & father is talking to himself on the phone.

The whole pattern of the episode was just so different na (coughing sarcasm) where Shaiq passed on a churutti to his dad about Arham, Shakeel uncle gave some not-so-heard-before threats of doing something inhumane but later panted & voila, everything was normal. Accha, while Narmeen, Shaiq & Shakeel Uncle were having a conversation about who must leave & who shouldn’t I kept on wondering about a gazillion sofas in the background, someone forgot to tell them that sofas are meant to be seated on, so why were they standing? I guess the main reason of this drama was to show this museum like mansion & that’s all there’s to it. Those angles & camera work always focus more on the home decor & not on what’s going on inside as a story.

Narmeen once again has every puppet under her control but I am glad that Samina Aunty left, she made weird excuses & left because I am sure the reviews must be haunting her so she decided to part ways with this hideous drama & while watching this episode I did recall a girl named Sarah, I am guessing was she a part of this drama too? Please let me know because I dug up on box of almonds & still am suffering from short term memory loss & for that I give the credit to the so confused director.

I must say that I am going to contact Shaiq to learn the timing he has. He is always there when Narmeen is speaking on the phone suspiciously but then sadly he forgets he has to take some action. At first he does ghaeebat of his wife with Arham & later when Arham taunts & haunts her, he goes around saying wo biwi hai meri as if hum behan samajh rahay thay. Finally Shakeel Uncle came out of his hujra & said he will take action after he finds out what has happened, as if he couldn’t have said all this in around like 8th episode may be? Why put us to such a suffering uncle, humne appka kya bigara hai?

Cheers,

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Torture Number Atharaan!

First of all A SHOUT OUT to me & all the other viewers who survived through 18 episodes of this hideous drama. Masha Allah ME & YOU guys are awesome! ;) I was actually wondering & wanted to figure out the reason why the director wanted to show the flashbacks again & again & Voila, it occured to me that he must be suffering from what Amir Khan suffered in Ghajni & yes you guessed it right, the disease is SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS. Our dear director is a case of Short Term Memory Loss that’s why in order to remember what disaster he stirred, he kept on throwing in the flashbacks because on his own, he’s too weak to keep track of what was happening in his drama.

Areeba has this conversation with her father where he shows the signs of distress about how Areeba will take burden of the responsibilities & all of a sudden he thinks there’s a huge social gap in his family & in Areeba’s in-laws, which made me say that Uncle should’ve had this conversation with Areeba before getting her married to a rich-loon Arham. What was he thinking before Areeba’s wedding that now all of a sudden on a breakfast table he is too worried? By the way which responsibilities was he speaking of? All I know is that Areeba has to walk from one room to the other, pull off a constipated face, bear Arham’s fits & that all there’s to her responsibilities…so what’s the worry about Abba jaan, take a chill pill!

All I saw Shaiq doing in this episode was jumping in & out of the bed, lol. He claims he is too busy, too tired, too bored, too zombie, too dead & yeah, that’s what we all think so too about you now Mikaal Zulfikaar. Phew! Waisay it was the first time that I felt pity for Narmeen, she herself got tangled in such a weird family where one brother was a lunatic & the other was a bored human being. She looked actually really innocent when she smiled at the idea of going out for shopping with Shaiq – even though she had not plucked her eye-brows, she still managed to look happy. Poor soul, iska kya haal bana diya hai zalim sasuraliyon ne, bechari!

Accha, for the first time I understood the changing patterns of Arham’s behaviour which made me deduce the fact that he is suffering from a bipolar disease. He has a personality disorder & I can prove it, just keep on reading through. When Arham’s in front of Areeba, he is just like a bakra who dreads Bari Eid because he is too terrified of being zibbah-o-fied but the moment he is in front of Narmeen, he is just like a wounded lion (read GEEDARH) who just knows how to roar. Such an actor he is & for that I pity Areeba who thinks she has found a SANE husband, aan ann girl, you’re mistakennn. Arham looked like such a foul player that he at first stopped Narmeen & taunted her, later when his father got free after dyeing his beard & confronted this loon, he looked like a masoom baby who just thinks roti is pronounced as chochi. Ahram you better stop playing around otherwise no one will change your pamper, ohkay! Arham said to either his bro or dad that he gets agitated every-time Narmeen taunts him & I was like Gugay ko ghussha a jata haiiii, alay alay alay Alham ko guccha a gayawww, awww!!!

The funniest & faarighest thing to see is Arham & Areeba passing comments & judgements on Narmeen every single time. They speak, talk, breathe, dread, have dreams about Narmeen so yeah she is right in this sense that this family is weird & they portray themselves as sober but in actual they are not. Looks like Arham & Areeba have got nothing to do, seriously NOTHING & for that their laughing, talking & stalking stock is Narmeen, people you guys seriously need to pay a visit to the doctor & then a psychiatrists to bring you out of the sheer fixation of Narmeen.

Aur yeah, everytime we have this commercial break in between, I see a title song with a still of their smiling faces & I curse the time I thought it would be normal drama with some happy faces but they used those deceptive smiles to fool us, but I do have a laugh thinking when was the first & the last time they actually smiled? Never!

Man, are the flaws of this drama ever gonna end?

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Torture Khatammm! :)

0

Forgive me for I’m confused. I am ecstatic because the drama or rather torture has ended which I had to endure on weekly basis but also I am sad because my Tuesday’s won’t be fun anymore. I am still wondering what was the purpose of this drama but I am hysterically crying because I won’t get to find out as there are no more episodes of this drama left. :(

Arham gugu said that he felt insulted through out, so I want to know if he felt those insults again & again, what was he still doing in that house? Was he only there to shoot his father’s BP high every single time? If he was so much concerned about the misunderstandings, he should’ve worked on undoing things instead of holding his empty head trying to prevent it from bursting like a tyre. Azmaish azmaish, oh bhai kaunsi azmaish? All he had to do was dress up fancily, roam from one room to the other, curse Narmeen & that’s all. He didn’t have to work for anything in his life so if his so-called close knit family burdened him with a little accusation, he should’ve accepted it quietly because without doing anything he was getting fed in that house & also he had a shelter too. Karna karana kuch nahi bas rona tha Arham ne.

I thought Arham was the baddest character of this drama but I am sorry Arham, I am crowning Shakeel uncle with this label. His character was just annoying & that’s all there’s to it. He worried about the upbringing of his children by the end of the drama. He worried about paying some money to shut the ‘massi’ quiet at the end too. He should’ve rectified everything if he was such a Muslim which he claimed to be, but he was just another ordinary human being who only knew how to SPEAK & do nothing.

I just can’t believe all this while I kept on telling Arham to snap out of the past, snap out of it, snap out of it Arhammm pleaseee but now when the drama ended, he was still the same. Same obsessed man who just loved cursing Narmeen 24/7. & he got an obsession partner too & she was Areeba.

Surprisingly when Narmeen & Shaiq were romancing, I was too busy checking the feminine slit on Shaiq’s shirt’s sleeve because in that frame only the slit looked interesting. I wish Shaiq rather Mikaal had gone easy on the blush in that particular scene because blush-on’s are meant to highlight the cheekbones, not the whole cheeks making you look like someone who just got slapped with right hand on the left cheek & with left hand on the right one. Shaiq spoke about a performance & I kept on waiting for it, I think they made us all a Bakra & it was a bait to keep us glued to the drama till it ended.

Well coming to the gunnah part 2 scene, I mean really? Narmeen knew she got a blackmailer’s call & she was right there in the middle of a crowd responding to it? I mean I thought she had a more attention span than a poodle has but she proved me wrong. Shakeel uncle said I’ll come to a certain decision because I’m the eldest amongst all & I was like have you ever taken any decisions before Uncle? Why did he become a self-proclaimed Sherlock Holmes suddenly? I wish, I so wish he had concentrated more on his family than dying his beard, so then he wouldn’t have looked so spaced out. Even when Zainab came, all uncle did was some threatening & yelling & Ta-Da, he was done with his quota of ‘geedarh bhabkiyaan’ like every other episode. I wish he had at least done SOMETHING to prove a point for once at least…for once!

I mean it had to be a jaw dropping scene, the climax of the drama but it wasn’t even enough of a yawn-provoker. Sarah tried to reach her head as if there was something more than a bundle of hay there & as if she was the one getting exposed. All Sarah did in this drama was to make it over-the-top as if it wasn’t already. Accha jee, the drama ended & no one even bothered to ask Narmeen that WHY did she do all this? WHY? I think only 1 WHY would’ve sufficed. After all the trauma they’ve put us through, I think we do get a right to question this much?

Well now coming to the bloopers. What a decent way to end a so called serious drama? The way they were giggling in between performances & the way director was holding a gun on the actor’s skulls…it was SELF-EXPLANATORY that why the product was the way we saw it.

Lack of skills, lack of technicality & most importantly – LACK OF SERIOUSNESS was what that made Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai the way it was.

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Torture # Ikkees!

0

Finally we’re heading towards the end of the masterpiece known as Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai but I am glad that even by the end of the drama, the director didn’t fail to impress me with the fail of his direction. What shall I say man, I am totally in an awe of how creative a director can be!

Finally Shaiq got heed of the fact that Narmeen was up to some nasty & for that he for the first time thought like a Hero & tried to unlock the mystery but I am impressed with the ghunda who was on the phone, because at first he demanded Rs. 5 lacs & the very next moment he was worried about Narmeen’s depreciating cellular credit, WOW! Do they really make such caring goons these days?

Anyways, Samina Begum has returned & the conversation between her & Shakeel uncle was uh…what’s the word – BORINGGG. But I am amazed at a fact that when Samina Begum suggested that we would now tell Shaiq to go away & settle somewhere else with Narmeen, Shakeel uncle said ‘ye mere liye mushkil hoga’. So what was the speech for in the previous episode where he himself told Shaiq to go away & he refused? I am not sure what’s happening, are they normal or we’re abnormal or vice versa? Phew!

Areeba came back, as if we never knew that she would & even if she had to come back, why did she leave in the first place? Oh now I get it, it was to drag the drama till 20+ episodes. She comes back after listening to her friend’s suicidal speech which made me wonder that why would a girl like to die after she has spent a whole day doing makeup. Her friend looked like she was going for a suicide shopping with a huge bag hanging on her arm & in the meanwhile she stopped by Areeba’s to tell her that I’m off for the suicide adventure so I thought I’d let you know. Marna hai to maro, tayari aur itna rona pitna kyun? Acha, what’s funniest was after Areeba’s friend told her she was going to die & she left, Areeba didn’t even bother stopping her because she was too busy planning her return to Arham’s place. LOL! FAILLLLLL!

Narmeen who spoke to her mother first thing in the morning told her that she was being blackmailed for the amount of 5 lacs. But later when she called her mother again to tell her that Areeba’s back, her mother goes like ‘itni subha kaisay uth gai’ giving us the impression that it was the first call she made to her mother. Editing fail probably. Acha, what Areeba blabbered in front of Arham made so sense at all – jung, waar, mohabbat, yakeen, bla bla & I was like band karo appna ye Radio program. Anyways she goes around saying Narmeen challenged her that Arham won’t come for the breakfast but I am wondering when did it all happen? Narmeen was sulking in her room, Areeba was in her own so when did they both have an encounter in the morning? Plus not to forget the changing kurtas of Areeba didn’t help the situation either. I am amazed at how faarigh this family is, they only bother running towards the breakfast table to thoosofy the food & later they scurry into their rooms, then again they run towards the lunch table & once again back to their rooms then again they come out of their bills for the dinner & go to their rooms, that’s how a day goes like in this house.

Looking at Arham’s formal shoes, I always have a feeling of him being a busiest businessman but he never fails to amaze me that he dresses up in formal dress shirt & shoes to just roam around in the house, to cry at his fullest & to ask his wife for coffee. Acha, Areeba goes like ‘coffee aur pakore tayar hain’ which made me wonder what sort of a combo was that? It sounds like garlic bread & pulao or may be raita & chai? I feel they eat hideously that’s why they sound & act hideously too.

Shaiq is not at all a crack-pot he proved because he cracked a mystery with a help of his employee & ta-da it happens to be their wawela aunty Zainab. Narmeen is glad that she is going to get a perfect surprise for her birthday but a little does she know what surprise would it be. I hope he gifts her with a rat-killer or coopex so that at least we don’t get to hear her yelling once again because by the sight of the next preview I am sure there would be a lot of needless yelling & swearing. But I am hoping this would be the last episode, I hope so!

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Torture # Bees!

Oh boy! Are we having this conversation over those repetitive conversations again? Phew. I think the best name for this serial would’ve been ‘Chand Aurtain, Ghatiya Kahaniyaan’. I was searching for the purpose of this drama but gladly in the 20th episode I found it & it was just to show the mansion of Shakeel uncle. I am sure the director fell in love with the location & for that he made this drama because if there’s anything that’s technically sound in this serial, those are the different shots & angles of the place, that’s it.

The whole episode was dedicated to Areeba, who’s good enough to even spoil the taste of my birthday cake :/. I must say that where the technicality died, this drama came into being. Areeba & her father had a conversation on the couch about why she left & what was her problem but that whole scenario was divided into two scenes where Areeba’s father kept on begging her like bolo beta, bolo beta, bolo beta, bolo beta, bolo beta, bolo beta, bolo beta. I mean…I was like being her father the Justin Bieber uncle should’ve pulled her hair, pulled the tongue out of her throat, made her smell the dog poop & should’ve done every torture possible to get the reason for why she left Arham’s place but him being too cotton-like soft on her wasn’t necessary. Being a father, he should’ve taken all the steps to throw this daft unintelligent girl out of his place.

Shakeel uncle goes like I have to take a faisla & Shaiq reacted like ‘FAISLA’ as if he never had a conversation on these lines before. I don’t know are they really that dumb or have no brains to actually understand what the other is saying without having a question mark like expression on their faces. Shakeel uncle spoke about taking a decision but then again he went into the gruesome details & it looked like he was trying so hard to act but his acting was stuck in his throat like a fish-bone. Even though he tried, it couldn’t come out. Accha, Shaiq said he couldn’t even conceive of an idea to stay away from his family & I was like yeah right. He is the one who is never really interested in what’s going on with his family members & he says he can’t live without them, I think he’s another loon on the loose.

Finally someone’s giving Narmeen a Narmeen time (hard time). She is being blackmailed but like always Shaiq didn’t disappoint us & continued to sound like an absent minded puppet who even heard & asked about who wanted the money from Narmeen but then his disinterest continued & he left. I mean really? Stop being a botch up for Khuda’s sake.

Arham continued to whinge because his pamper needed a change & his Aya’s gone. I am glad that someone made a special appearance in this episode & that celebrity was Sarah. LOL. All of a sudden she is too keen to know why Areeba left. I believe they all live under the same huge roof but the way she said things, it sounded like she was abroad & came running to Pakistan when she heard that Areeba left. I really wish to see at least ONE, at leasttt ONE episode of this drama which does make some sense. Areeba’s equally annoying friend is becoming her psychiatrists, boy their Yakeen Yakeen conversation almost make me puke. Areeba’s friend goes around saying ‘Khud pe yakeen karnay ko hi Khuda pe yakeen karna kehte hain’. I so wish either she wasn’t in the serial or I would’ve gotten a chance to smack her or the dialogue writer. How can they write such such crappy dialogues which question the intricacy of our beliefs? This dialogue was way over the line. I hope the dialogue writer pays more attention before blurting lines on the paper.

Anyways, Areeba told her friend that she feels threatened because she ain’t that pretty. I am glad Areeba’s thinking on those lines, what else could be a better reason for her to get a good make up artist then, Haan Areeba??? It goes around showing that she wasn’t only a below average student but she has an inferiority complex too, wow. I am glad to confess that Areeba Arham have completely justified The Allah Milai Jori phrase. They compliment each other in so many ways that they themselves don’t know of. :) Masha Allah, Allah inhain nazr-e-bad se bachaye!

Wow! Next episode will have some action but I am sure it will go down rushing the western flush too.

Keep supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 17.

Statutory Warning: This episode was solely for those viewers who had missed Episode 07 of this drama serial, therefore, it only had the flashbacks along with certain insensible details which may force you to smote yourself, so aggar appne appko maaar maar k tabiyat ziyada kharab ho gai ho to Doctor se rujooh karain!

Arham apparently claimed in front of his roti surat wife that he finds it REALLY hard to recall & speak about what has happened in the past & for that reason I am wondering if it was THIS difficult for him, he is still whinging about it constantly SO IF it was easier, how much would’ve he spoken about it. Is it just me who feels like smacking Sarah every single time she opens her mouth? She goes around saying Areeba should ask Arham what had happened that night, as if she was on a holiday & was not present in the house for which she can’t give details to Areeba about it & Areeba who’s blessed with a 0 IQ agrees & still asks Arham about it as if he has NEVER ever spoken about it with her before.

Areeba was annoying, is annoying & will be annoying & that’s for sure. When she came to this house, she was a curious cow & even after Arham has told her every single deet, she is still curious. I am wondering what will satisfy her curiosity. I think is ghar mai rooms k darwazay band karne ka riwaaj nahi hai, therefore, every single person can hear what the others are talking about.

I think I’ve fallen in love with this drama SO MUCH that even before the conversations begin, I know what they are going to be talking about. If Arham & Narmeen are in the picture, it would start off with Arham’s shaving techniques followed by a conversation about Arham being guilty about making Shakeel uncle completely insane. If Arham & Areeba are discussing something, it would ONLY be focusing on Arham’s whinging & crying & whining making him look like a little baby who needs a NAPPY change. If Narmeen is speaking to her evil-mama it would be about miyan ko kabu karne k 101 tareeqay & if Narmeen is in a conversation with Shaiq…it would most likely make you yawn because of Shaiq’s awazar shakal.

I thought they had revealed every thing about the Gunnah night but wow, they caught me off-guard when they poured in some more details thinking we’d be interested by now!?!?!?! But no matter what I am in love with their Naukrani & her wawela, she looked so cute while panting that I wanted to hug her & tell her that you’re the ONLY one in this show who’s doing things right!

Nightmare Narmeen is actually having nightmares herself & while she was having nightmares in a middle of a night, Areeba & Arham had a conversation in a bright daylight about what happened previously, Sarah & Areeba had a conversation too to fix the tension, their Pupho died & Shaiq went & came back from the airport, Shaiq’s Ammi got the ticket as well (just like the kaam-wali got medical reports & NGO workers at Fajr time), yes all this happened while Narmeen was asleep. I am wondering was her night equal to a light-year or what? She dreaded someone was choking her to death, which I wish someone would!

Preview of the next episode doesn’t disappoint us because it is still going to be as unreasonable as the previous episodes have been, so phew! that’s a relief man. Even after Shaiq has heard about Narmeen being guilty & confessing in front of her evil-mama, he’s still telling Arham to stay away from his wife. Shaiq you need to make up your mind on who do you support dude or else please continue to be like a ‘din ka chimgadarh’ as mentioned by you, about yourself in Shehr-e-Zaat.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 16.

0

Core dialogue of the episode: “Shahiq k saath bohat bura hua”, “bhai Shahiq k saath bohat hi bura hua”, “suna sab ne Shahiq k saath bura hua”, “hayeeee hum kahan jayein, Shahiq k saath bura hua”. I think the writer actually ran out of words after she wrote this masterpiece, I am sure she put all the vocab she had in the script so for that reason she was left speechless in literal sense to write some better dialogues.

Just when I thought Areeba has improved her makeup, I couldn’t help noticing the paindu multi-colored chogha she is wearing since I don’t know how many episodes. I think she got married to a rich guy who could afford a variety of dresses so why does she keep on changing dupattas over the same dress?

Arham ne koi teer mara hai after getting an approval for some project, which makes me wonder about how that happened because Arham is our stay-at-home husband, so, anyhow, he was seen pretty happy & quite candid with his brother while speaking about the project as he was quite casually conversing like Oh yaar, but all of a sudden he went into his psycho mode & wanted to run away because of the so-called tamgha he had set shining on his forehead. Accha, all this while I thought this was a happy time for the couple but amidst the forced happiness, Areeba found a time for seclusion to recall the petty past which we have seen & not to forget in a typical dukhi shakal of hers. & immediately after showing she was dukhi, she comes down asking Arham if he had shared the good news (:P) with Shakeel uncle, to Areeba ko kyun maut pari hui thi pehle? I think our becharay stars tried to give in their 100% but alas! The director was joking & I think the shooting of the drama began on 1st of April! :P

Everyone has now started complaining that Shahiq was wronged when he was forced into marrying this evil girl Narmeen, accha now that everyone knows it, why can’t anyone do something to fix it? If they know she wants to move out of the house, why don’t they throw her into some deep pit? Saath rakhna bhi hai aur rona bhi hai!

Areeba tells her father that Arham has become sehma & ghabraya in that house but in the very next scene he is coming down the staircase with this huge smile on his face to share the news of a big project he got approval of? To wo ghabrahat kahan gai? Aur wo sehma-pan? LOL! Initially I thought it was Arham who had lost it but I think the company is doing charm on Areeba & she has started to lose some too, because what she says doesn’t make any sense, anymore.

Narmeen had confessed in front of her mother that no accident ever happened so I am wondering what’s that changing scar doing on her forehead? Accha, when the evil-mama was speaking to her kharant-beti on the phone, I saw Narmeen’s heavy-baba tip-toeing into the room, I thought chalo shuker Aunty ka bhanda aur khali sir phootne wala hai but that scene was snipped without any end to it. I thought that scene would be dragged to the point where uncle will tell aunty to snap out of it but nothing happened, so what was the point of showing uncle doing the light moon-walk over the stairs? LOL, ajeeb hi direction hai bhai.

From the preview of the next torture I mean episode, I gather Narmeen will be exposed as Shahiq will like always eavesdrop on her where she will be confessing in front of her mother about the drama she planned against Arham, so let’s see what will happen or may be nothing might happen because Shahiq did find out about the accident show she put up but he forgot about it too, so I am thinking he might not say a word. Accha, did someone notice that Shahiq was wearing the same shirt in the eavesdropping scene which Arham was wearing in the gunnah scene? I think this shirt or the color is manhoos for this family because every time someone shows up in this color, something bad happens.

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 15

Ohkay so it’s official (not that it wasn’t before) that this serial is an epitome of imperfection. I think when the logic ended this drama came into materialization. Whoever the writer & the director are, they deserve a standing ovation for pulling this piece of crap & actually succeeding in annoying us. Spare me for I’m furious about the time of mine that has been wasted, phew!

The pattern of each of the episodes is similar where Arham is happy at one moment & the very next he wants to die & go to hell ASAP (which I wish he would). Areeba pulls off this constipated face every time & succeeds in irritating us to limits. Samina Begum knows Narmeen’s ill-mannered but everytime she becomes a saas & wants to pass a statement to correct Narmeen & later she regrets speaking to her. Sarah’s just a filler to fill the not-so-happy family picture. Shahiq is a pain…pain to watch, pain to listen to & a pain to tolerate. Shakeel sahab runs this high-end business but in my opinion lacks basic knowledge or a know-how of how an elder should be. He is as unreasonable as one CAN’T be!

I just don’t understand the sequence of this drama & why was this even perceived or why didn’t the actors who are so-called so much experienced in this industry pointed out to the director that he was committing such huge & petty mistakes. I just don’t get why was the drama even made? It’s such a huge disappointment or we can say that it’s like a black mark on their careers. Arham’s fits are just out of control & for this reason I believe he needs to visit a shrink ASAP, because his predicament is now getting funnier & unreasonable, as he seems pretty fine being a stay-at-home man so why does he want to move out of his parents’ house?

I thought Narmeen was never coming back after getting slapped because she ran with a speed of light but the very next moment she was seen sitting on a bed bickering with Shahiq as usual. I just don’t get why every dialogue of Narmeen has to begin with ‘tum mujh pe taunt maar rahay ho?‘ I mean obviously everyone IS targeting you so why do you confirm every time? Just understand it, deal with it like you do animally & shut it Narmeen. Narmeen clearly wore some beige churridaar when she was in her saas sasur’s room but the very next moment when she came back to her room she had a change of bottoms in black trousers. I wonder her walk-in closet was in between the rooms of her sasur & her own. I just hate when she yells unnecessarily to make a mount of a molehill.

Of all the people I thought only Shakeel was impaired from re-calling the past but this time he burst my bubble pretty well by remembering something old which never made any sense. Shahiq hit Narmeen but in response to that Shakeel uncle went to fetch a petty detail from the past. Everyone knows she’s an evil of a kind still they don’t want to do anything about it. & oh at a mention of evil, I would want to thank the director for not showing Narmeen’s mother in this particular episode. She’s another evil on the loose.

I have never ever seen such a hideous drama where nothing makes sense. Accha, all this while when the drama began we never saw any lady of the house working ever but lately they want to show us k baray ghar ki auntiyaan bhi kaam karti hain so that’s why each one of them is chamach-phairing in a pan to show how mehanti they are. I hope any person in-charge from Hum Tv reads the review & the comments of every viewer & quit this show ASAP because it’s nothing but a waste of prime-time slot on every Tuesday. This show must END.

Zahra Mirza.

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 14.

I think this drama was better off when they were in the past because at least they had some material to be covered, be it in a hideous way but still they managed to show us something, but ever since we’ve come to know about Arham’s so-called gunnah, we’re left with nothing & have come to a point where they are using Narmeen’s breakfast as a weapon against her to prove how EVIL she is.

Accha, Shahiq has this ‘umang’ in his heart that Narmeen must pay some attention to him like Areeba pays to Arham. Sad that Arham still has those fits of distress even after he has found a good wife. Nothing in this drama is making sense at this point. It’s ohkay to be stagnant but when there’s nothing, literally nothing to be shown, then they come up with such meaningless episodes. Last episode ended at a note where Narmeen misbehaves about her FIL (father-in-law) in front of Shahiq & Samina & it was made to shown that Shahiq won’t take that & will slap Narmeen about what she said but how this episode started was enough to show the unsystematic approach of the director.

It was good that at least Sarah could speak in front of Narmeen but what was the NASHTA fiasco all about? Matlab Narmeen’s breakfast was just so important that it had to be mentioned or covered again & again in almost 3 scenes. At least before they kept on hovering around the Gunnah but right now they’re taking it to the household chores. Nashta, late uthna, namaz, bahu se kaam na karwana? Seriously!?!?!?! & yes whenever they sight the mood, they take us to already-seen-present-flashbacks, applaud for such an amazing insight of the director & the editor.

Accha, I just don’t understand the pattern of Arham’s pagal-pan. At one moment he is walking hands in hands with Areeba who is counseling him regularly, on the other he is having a breakfast with everyone peacefully, he is also seen asking Shahiq about his problems & went for Namaz with him to usay daura kahan se parh jata hai? No one loves me, no one understands me, no one has forgiven me? I think everyone has walked out of that phase in life but it is Arham who needs to snap out of it.

They never once showed how Arham connected the puzzle of Narmeen’s game? Narmeen never ever told anyone except her mother that she liked Shahiq for which she has left Arham? But from the last 2 – 3 episodes Arham on his own is speaking about Narmeen’s marriage to Shahiq because she found him more attractive than Arham? If it was someone wise, he must’ve established some grounds for Arham to be finding out the ultimate secret but right now he is just so sure without any knowledge of Narmeen’s game-plan. Plus all he knew was that Shahiq was forced into marrying Narmeen because of her izzat to be protected but this particular detail should’ve been used as a shocker & something to be exposed in front of everyone or else if Arham has connected the dots, why ain’t he speaking of it in front of his family?

Lost interest in the drama & praying that it ends ASAP!

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 13.

I think after the director was done with the whole past & present fiasco, he decided to have a decent take on the episode 13, for which I say that this episode was a pretty good attempt & seeing it after a series of failed episodes, it came as a positive note or left me feeling that our rants must’ve paid off or else I’m done expecting so whatever came my way, swept me off my feet.

Now that the little introductory speech is done & coming to the episode itself, I did enjoy watching it because the series of events unfolded pretty appropriately. A little mistakes are obviously not going to be unnoticed so it’s better to leave the laughing stock for the happy-ending-note.

Shahiq has started to show a bit of an interest in what his wife wants, in fact he always seemed to be a normal husband-like material but it was Narmeen who drove him away from her because of her self-instigated negativity. Even though so much has happened Shahiq is ready to give Narmeen a few more chances or chances to this marriage is more like it. Narmeen still fails to understand that just by yearning for his love & attention, she won’t be getting any, she has to work to earn all that & by no means she is working on that line. I find it unreasonable that after every spat she has with her husband, she reminisces about her ex-fiancé & current-devar. This sulking is definitely going to be her life-long journey unless she tries to accept that Arham’s a bygone & her husband needs her utmost attention. Looks like some facts are now syncing through her mind & she is regretting the idea of leaving Arham in the first place.

Areeba’s continuing to be her husband’s counsellor & listener for which he is now seen to be staying in the present & not going into the past just to fetch those petty details to be laid in front of his wife. They’re having a good time together & this is something good to see.

I did find the already-seen flashbacks unnecessary because these were the scenes from the present which were already shown so there was no need to use them as reminders once again. As I’m cursed to be noticing the unnoticed details, I did catch a few mistakes which obviously started off from Narmeen’s changing blood colours. Accha, Shahiq busted Narmeen & her mother while she was telling her a secret about pulling off an attention seeking stunt. Shahiq already reacted after finding out the reality but what shocked me was his conversation with Narmeen by the end of the episode where he tells his mother that doctors saw the improvement, later he also consoles Narmeen for not worrying a bit too much about her scar which will eventually fade away. I mean, IF he, in fact he ACTUALLY heard her talking, so why was he having a conversation about her face & stuff. I think in normal circumstances he should’ve honestly told her to back off from her drama because he was aware of the fact that the accident never happened. Those conversations seemed completely wrong.

Where Narmeen’s scar-blood changed colors, her head-dressing along with her personal dresses changed too. She’s seen with a dressing on her head when she stops Shahiq from going to work but in the next scene her dressing’s gone. When Shahiq’s mom comes to ask her how she was doing, Narmeen returns from the hospital in navy blue kaftan, in the very next scene when Areeba & Sara come to her room, she had a change of clothes. I did noticed a few of Shahiq’s shirts & coats being changed & removed…I am sure if such petty mistakes weren’t made & some sort of an attention to detail was taken care of, the drama would’ve been a hit.

Arham & Areeba’s conversations were nice & I did find it Arham’s strategy worth a mention. He thinks he’ll forgive her & confess it after Narmeen herself will admit what she has done. Good for Arham that Narmeen’s already having second thoughts about her decision of leaving him & marrying his brother in stead. I hope that the drama isn’t stretched till 20 episodes because it would just drag the situation further & I will once again lose the interest that I quite difficultly developed due to this particular episode.

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 12.

Ohkay, that was a time-pass episode with nothing much going on & no scene matching the other. Just a few tid bits were new & the rest were just repetitive.

Areeba & Arham’s scenes were enjoyable. Namaz scene was the best & it showed Areeba’s mentality in comparison to Narmeen’s. Areeba may be simple but she has a lot more compassion than anyone else. At least her feelings for Arham are honest & that’s what makes her a good wife. I apologize for having a keen eye towards details & for that I noticed Areeba being in the car when Arham stopped by the flower shop but later when he gifted her those flower bracelets, she looked so surprised as if she never knew Arham went to a florist. I mean…really?

It is good to see Arham being open & honest to Areeba about his inner-most feelings & tells her everything straight away but what’s annoying & in fact unnecessary is the comparison he does of her with Narmeen every time he is either praising Areeba or having a happy time with her. Areeba’s ‘safai dene wala’ question to Arham seemed so odd at this time because when he was actually telling her the story, it would’ve been a perfect fit at that point of time but here after he has told her every single detail & for us, after so many episodes, her question ‘appne safai kyu nahi di’ was a miss. Areeba has counselled Arham in every way possible, she is all ears to his problems but still he says he feels this ‘ghuttan’, I think it’s a high time Arham should snap out of it, I mean please!!!

I have been saying it & I will say it again that I am bored of bored-looking, not-bothered look that Mikaal carries around in every drama. His not-interested, least-involved characters & those stuck up expressions are simply annoying. At this point, I feel he lacks acting skills because he looks so stiff & uncomfortable. I have seen so many similar roles that he has played in fact the only kind of roles he has done but still I can’t seem to grasp those expressions from him because he looks tired actually. A high time either he should change his style, be more picky about the roles or the casting directors should stop casting him for ‘Bezaar Shohar’ sort of roles.

Now tuning into my typical mode, couldn’t help reading between the lines because that’s what keeps this drama interesting to follow for me. Narmeen who actually tells Shahiq to sleep while Arham took a walk in the garden was dressed in purple but later while Arham & Areeba are on their way to their room, Narmeen makes an entry in the red dress. Plus wasn’t she the one who told her own husband to sleep & not meddle in Arham’s affairs so what was the point of her making that appearance that too after changing the dress late at night? I once again heard the specific tabla during Narmeen’s mother’s scene & couldn’t help laughing at the imagination that rolled (if you can’t get what I’m talking about, please refer to the previous episode’s review, lol).

I must say the stylist should’ve opted for a better beard wig for Arham’s character because it looks like a completely dried out piece that was once soaking in water but it was wrung out & hanged in the balcony for the sunlight to evaporate the remaining moist. LOL. Please, get some nice beards or else don’t degrade it by showing such ‘sookhi darhi’. Fazool!

Accha, Arham told Areeba that he saw Narmeen getting infatuated with & attracted to Shahiq…but when did it actually happen? Arham all this while kept on asking Narmeen ‘tumne aisa kyu kiya’, ‘tumne aisa kyu kiya’. Plus wasn’t THIS fact supposed to be treated as a final revelation of Narmeen’s nasty tactics & the main reason of why she plotted against Arham? Wasn’t it supposed to be revealed in the end that too after everyone found out as to why she accused Arham for his insincerity? But in front of Areeba, he sounded just so normal that he saw it coming because Narmeen started taking interest in Shahiq whereas all this while he was just oblivious & kept on asking why he had to go through all this? I must say that the conversations stir without any base here in this drama just like Shahiq (even before Areeba got a proposal of Arham) told Narmeen that Areeba is over the moon with the idea of getting married to Arham because she likes him. I mean c’mon!!!

Accha, the biggest flaw was Shahiq’s arrival to his home after office hours. At first he was seen coming too late & tells he had 3 ohkay, not to forget ONLY 3 cups of chai in his office but the next time he came, scorching sunlight was sneaking through the window & later his mother asks ‘tum itna late kyu atay ho office se, hum tumhe DINNER pe miss karte hain’. It was shown as if he was quite late once again but it was almost an afternoon time. I mean really? Didn’t they themselves laugh while saying those dialogues because either we can’t be fools or they shouldn’t be. Shahiq is shown as a glutton whose only concern is the food. Teen cup chai & later ‘mujhe bhook lagi hai’. Aaaa, no one’s actually interested to know those petty details, really. My point in discussing these dialogues is that at one hand Arham/Areeba’s conversations sound like some excerpt from profound Urdu novel & on the other some dialogues are based on gharelu masail. Whoever the dialogue writer is deserves a salute from me plus I want to thank him/her for making me cringe with the excessive wrong use of two words Khuda & Mazhab. It is ALWAYS Allah & then Deen, Islam being a code of life is not a mazhab, it is deen. I hope they get their facts RIGHT.

The episode ended at such a cuteeeee note. Arham jiss ki appni Ammi se koi frankness hai nahi actually had the guts to pass a statement frankly about Narmeen in front of his mother awwww, LOL! I love this drama. :)

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 11

Ohkay just when I thought that the drama has gotten rational in terms of direction, the director proved me wrong & by all means I admit that this was another one of THOSE episodes that I enjoyed watching the most. ;)

Even though Areeba is counselling Arham continuously but their conversations make it a bit confusing as to how much time has lapsed between Arham-Narmeen’s breakup, Narmeen-Shahiq’s wedding & then Areeba-Arham wedding too? During the past scenes Narmeen’s mother suggests that her daughter should get married to Shahiq directly so I really couldn’t understand why Arham went into a shell because even after the whole ‘gunnah’ incident happened it looked like Shahiq got married just in a few days. So, I was just wondering why did Arham, at first, made it sound like it happened a few years ago & did he actually get the time to go into a deep seclusion because even after the incident happened, he is seen normal, going around to people’s places & fighting for himself, so I just want to know k usay chup kab lagi?

A little fails are obviously the spirit of the drama that’s why I couldn’t help notice Arham’s shirts changing, firstly a black one when he was at Narmeen’s to threaten her, later in the continuing scene when he was conversing with Shakeel, he was in white & blue & it was made to look like he was just coming back from Narmeen’s house & later when he is seen in his room on a praying mat, he is once again back to the black shirt which he wore in Narmeen’s home! I think he must’ve kept a change of clothes with him in the car, just to feel fresh, you know!

Shahiq who at first hated the idea of getting married actually yelled at Arham for going to her house? When did Shahiq start to have all those sympathies with Narmeen, I wonder. Now when he has gotten married to her, he has gone into a state of escape where he just likes lazing around wherever Narmeen is not present, lol! But I must say, I am getting bored of Mikaal Zulfikar’s up-tight personality & acting, he makes the character looks absolutely boring & his formal dressing up doesn’t help either.

Ohkay I once again couldn’t help noticing the background sound effect when Shahiq went to Narmeen’s place. I think there was no need to add that spooky music which later turned into a tabla, making it look like Narmeen’s mom will start belly dancing at the sight of Narmeen going away with Shahiq. That music was never heard before & doesn’t even belong to the theme tracks of the drama that we’ve heard. Sarah tells Arham & Areeba that the food is ready dressed in some green coloured suit but later at the dinning table, she is wearing grey. I wonder how does this family find a time & courage to change dresses in a jiffy? When Areeba enters the dinning room she says Asalam Alaikum & I think by the sight of rice, they were having a lunch already, so I guess Areeba must’ve said her Salams first thing in the morning while having breakfast, so was there a need of saying it again? That scene was worse-directed too because a few were already eating while the other’s plates were clean to the core. Narmeen’s changing hairstyles in this episode must get a special mention here too, from straight worn down hair to the side braid & then later in a continuing scene a complete back-combed braided hair…I mean was it really necessary for the crew of the drama to be paying attention to these hairstyles when there was not a substance in the drama itself?

What Areeba did & how she changed the situation was commendable, Narmeen definitely needs someone to play mind-games with her that too of the calibre she has, but I actually hated how Ayesha Khan looked in that scene, that smirk, that ramp walk-like modelling was just so annoying & later Shakeel sahab’s over-the-top acting made things a bit more PERFECT. I loved when he said to Areeba ‘mujhe tum pe yakeen hai’. Ya Allah! Mujhe yakeen pe hi yakeen nahi raha abb.

Shahiq has started to give Narmeen the idea of what he thinks of her, which definitely Narmeen needs the most but the best part was when she & her mother were busted. That was a one perfect moment in the series of comical perfect moments of this drama. I actually couldn’t understand that Narmeen who actually promised to make Shahiq fall in love with her was insulting him & his family straight away, I wonder how’s she going to earn that LURVE she is so keen to get?

Another one of those funny episodes which I loved & can’t wait to see more…;)

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 08.

Another week of no mystery solved. I have to say that it was the most ill-directed episode that I have seen in Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai so far. No scene matched to the other but one thing that matched were the dresses, making the scenes look related in absolutely no right way.

At one point Narmeen who’s wearing this dress is being asked to choose her dresses for Arham’s wedding & then in the very next scene she enters her room in the same dress to know from Shahiq that the function is about to begin, she must get ready. I don’t know where did what go wrong but something just isn’t right certainly.

I felt that the whole Areeba’s home-coming scene was a bit too stretched & poorly executed with no dialogues making sense & Narmeen’s attitude was just annoying. Every second, one family member or the other were going to her just so that she could come to do the ‘rasm’. First Shahiq then Sarah, then Shahiq again, then her mother & once again Sarah tried to call Narmeen so that she could do the honors. Arham’s mother asked her brother i-e Narmeen’s father to ask her & he gets up. The very next moment, without any conversation shown, they are seen sitting once again. & during that scene Narmeen’s mother is shown ranting on Sarah for leaving her daughter alone. But at first where she tells Narmeen that she is being irrational & calling out for trouble for herself, she is again telling Shahiq & Sarah to let go of Narmeen. Plus I really don’t get that when she already yelled at Shahiq in front of everyone, why would the rest of the family expect her to get involved in the whole family drama?

Narmeen & the photographer’s spat was just so funny. I loved how the photographer delivered his dialogues – absolutely expressionless with a poker face. Man, I really didn’t know that he was a professional photographer & these are those people who have the expertise in the photography & are well-qualified for it, I just never knew that. :) I don’t really get that those who are not at all to be shown, get so much show-time in this drama for instance the photographer & so for his dedication to the photography, I am dedicating a whole paragraph to him. :)

Arham & Areeba’s post-wedding conversation in their room sounded just so repetitive where Arham again & again went on saying you don’t know about me, you don’t, you just don’t. But I am glad with the no usage of our very favorite & ultimate dialogue this week i-e ‘Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai’. I kind of have a difficulty in keeping up with Arham’s mood swings & his attitude as well because he looked like a different person in front of Areeba but then again I didn’t find his reasoning rational for not having a breakfast with the family. I know he will eventually change but then I really can’t keep up & move along with the phrases ‘jo hua tha, jo nahi hua tha’. We need to know the reality, bas!

Shahiq’s conversation with Arham was just like the whole episode; meaningless. He knows that his wife is wrong & she certainly has some issues then how can he convince Arham to tell Areeba what happened. Shahiq has always told Narmeen to let go of the past & plus he even says that he trusts his brother as well so what was the need of Shahiq swooping in & telling Arham what he should do just so that Narmeen’s ego could be put to ease. Shahiq is seen least-bothered about his brother & in fact about everyone in the family, so how could he just jump out of no where to dictate what should be done & what not. I feel that the writer did write the story but forgot to build the characters. For the writer it was just some family of 5 but no relations or their characters were built, therefore, we get to see different patterns of their attitudes.

Another week of fail episode, for me at least, hence I made some additions in the genre section of the drama! :) The preview did show something about some girl emerging from Arham’s room; a whole new box of miseries will unlock so let’s see what impact does the actual revelation do on us; the viewers.

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 07.

So once again we’re left to solve the riddles all by ourselves & trust me it’s getting tedious. I mean I don’t find myself handling the whole ‘Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai’ dialogue again & again & again along with the unsolved mystery. I feel we’d be pushed to such a point; when the real issue will be revealed, we’d not be bothered at all.

Narmeen’s getting evil day by day & whose more evil is her mother. I mean all this while, when she knows that Narmeen is mentally handicapped, still she goes around helping her transpiring more malicious schemes in her married life. I think Narmeen’s mother’s suggestion of filing a complaint against Arham to the police was way too much. She unnecessarily blew things out of proportion. Narmeen is not only bothering Arham but her own husband as well, whom she herself fell for. I think the whole family is way too lenient in handling Narmeen. Arham who keeps on yelling to the point where his vocal chords hurt still can not make his point clear & Narmeen, who being in a joint family ignorantly keeps on paying her ‘devar’ some meaningless visits. This just all look so unrealistic. I don’t think in a joint family (no matter how big the bungalow is) it is possible to just go to anyone’s room. Even if we take it as a drama, I feel somethings should be made real.

I find the to’s & fro’s from present to the past & vice versa a bit too confusing to follow. All this while I kept on wondering if Arham was recollecting some of the bad memories from the past or was Shakeel having those outbursts again in the present day. May be some B&W effects would’ve made it easier for us to follow through their patterns of Arham’s miseries, like it was still easier when he was in the Islamic get up but ever since he changed himself for Narmeen, things have gotten difficult…for Narmeen & for us; the viewers too.

Finally one particular twist that seemed interesting was Narmeen’s one on one conversation with Areeba. I never expected such a calm person like Areeba to actually react the way she did & I think it was a high time she got her point clear & through Narmeen’s head. This was one move of Narmeen which was spot on in a sense that she herself told the driver to let Arham know, so that he can be tortured & then eventually he will end up blaming Areeba for not being the first one to let him know about Narmeen’s visit.

I still find it really odd that being their family friends since childhood, Narmeen was actually telling Areeba that she was Arham’s ex-fiancée. Even though they try revealing something new but it’s just one or two scenes in the whole episode, which is why the whole drama is becoming bore-some. Rest of the episode is always like the very first episode in which they kept on beating around the bush.

I kind of laughed that Areeba at first stated ‘Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai’ (almost making me bang my head into the cushion) & later just by Narmeen’s say, she was having second thoughts. I know she will over-come Narmeen’s negativity & won’t pay heed but for that moment I found it amusing. So, hoping to see some progress in the story next week but preparing myself to hear one thing from Mr. Shakeel, Mrs. Shakeel, Sarah, Shahiq, Arham & Areeba that ‘MUJHE KHUDA PE YAKEEN HAI BHAI’. lol!

The direction seems really unprofessional & the editing tops the unprofessional-ism. I see that they have not paid attention to minor details like in every scene their dresses changed just in a jiffy, which disrupts the continuity of the episode. Like Narmeen walked away after taunting Arham in front of the whole family in some other dress, but when she walks in her room & Shahiq is waiting for an explanation, she has a completely different ensemble. I don’t even find the dialogues appealing. Didn’t even come across a single dialogue that I could remember & sadly all the conversations just seem so repetitive with same words being uttered again & again & for this reason I fear that by the end of the serial my own reviews don’t end up sounding similar. lol!

Plus I never say that about anyone but I feel Momal Sheikh needs some good makeup artist who can actually enhance her beauty appropriately but sadly every time the case is otherwise.

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 06.

Finally Arham & Areeba are tying the knot & everybody is stoked about it. Even though Arham is skeptical about hiding the truth from his wife-to-be, Samina & even Areeba don’t feel it’s the right thing to do. Areeba is ready to accept Arham for his present & the upcoming future but is least bothered about the past. I think it is the right thing to do but for our sake, the reality should be revealed. ;)

Ohkay, this episode made it clear that Narmeen is not only evil or negative but is also a psychopath. She at first wanted Arham all by herself & just exactly the way she liked it. But just the sight of Shahiq made her regret the decision she took. I was shocked to see the changing colors of both ‘ma, beti’. Chalo, Narmeen is mentally handicapped to think things through but how can her mother just support her daughter in every move that she makes?

I found one thing as a finality that Arham has no opinion of his own. He just likes to follow the lead of others. He changed himself for Narmeen, changed what he loved doing & what he liked to carry just for the sake of this girl. Then just because Narmeen had brain-fed him, he was ready to get into argument with his father. At this point I thought ‘mutawwa baghawat pe utar aya’. I mean it sounded just so unlike Arham to get into some sort of uneasy dialogue with his father where all this while he was seen as a modest person. Even coming to the present, where he feels it’s right to let Areeba know about the past, he just followed the lead of his mother. I think this trait of him makes him a weakling.

Once again I had to listen to the dialogue ‘Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai’. OHKAY! A shout out to the whole team & the dialogue writer in particular that WE KNOW what the name of the drama serial is, can we please NOT listen to this again. I don’t know how can such facts be ignored which we were taught in class 6th I guess. I remember our Urdu teacher taught us that the word used for Almighty is only Allah, Khuda is not the right term & also ‘Allah Miyan’ whereas Areeba said it. Not exaggerating but I swear I cringe every time I hear the word Khuda. It just sounds so odd & inappropriate.

Anyhow, things have progressed a bit more & we’re close to unveiling of the reality. Till now the grounds have been established pretty well that Narmeen would be the one at fault. It was nice to see that Arham & Shahiq shared such a nice brotherly bonding before everything happened but now it’s just Shahiq who is busy in his business & Arham who is depressed & they have no relation left whatsoever plus I don’t see Shahiq making any effort towards fixing his relation with Arham too, either he is busy with himself or his wife. Arham has started to change towards the good so let’s see what more can Areeba do in order to sort the uneasy situations.

I appreciate that Ayesha Khan has undone her funny braids which just looked like some unsuccessful attempts at looking younger, she looks fine this way but I feel she has started to pout a bit too much while talking which shows that she is putting a lot more effort in speaking. For the first time I noticed the shades of dyes Shakeel Sahab has used in his beard. I think the hair-dresser must’ve had a hard time in getting those shades right. I think it’s important to age gracefully rather than the otherwise.

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 05.

Finally the moment has arrived that the story has moved from the present to the past. The misunderstanding that we all have been waiting for is going to unveil soon & I feel the drama has actually began now with a great kick.

So many things got clear today & I enjoyed watching the drama for the first time. Didn’t see much of the flaws as they tried to cover the past by merging it with the present appropriately. It was actually saddening to see Arham being a happy, content person because now what he has become is absolutely opposite to whom he was. Arham looked like a man of substance & devotion till he got rid of his own personality just to make Narmeen happy. Narmeen played her way into their family very cleverly by literally showering her feelings on Arham & her mother was supportive of the idea as well but what I just couldn’t digest were the little conversations they had about one’s personal beliefs. ‘Deen mai darhi, darhi mai deen nahi’ reminded me so much…in fact only of the movie Khuda Kay Liye, but the context was different this time. Arham actually liked showing what he believed in as he was not fishing for a disguise of innocence or religion behind the beard. He liked carrying what he felt & believed in but Alas! Narmeen changed it all for him.

The looks Shakeel & Narmeen shared in the promos were some mystery to me but now I got hold of the situation pretty well. It was interesting to know that Shakeel didn’t approve of Narmeen for Arham as he thought she was bold & this is why Shakeel seemed uncomfortable during their engagement ceremony. I actually disliked seeing Arham change completely for Narmeen where he took her out for a date etc. It just showed that he has was a shallow person who had no ideas of his own & just wanted to please someone who just once confronted him about his lifestyle & choices.

Coming to the present, Narmeen’s mother actually stirred a lie saying Shahiq hit her, I mean before blaming her mother it is actually Narmeen who should be blamed. She is one of those who can never be satisfied or be happy in life because when she got a caring partner like Arham who turned everything upside down to make her happy, she got over him & later she got Shahiq again according to her will, she is ready to ruin his life too just because she doesn’t know how to be happy. Shakeel saw the right moment & spoke about Arham & Areeba’s wedding. I really liked how he shunned Narmeen & told her that she ain’t the decision maker of the family.

I hated seeing Shakeel turn against Arham because seems like he loves him a little too much. He was furious when Arham changed his lifestyle because he was actually proud of who he was & loved him out of respect for his feelings towards being a practicing Muslim. He was furious for the unknown reason which turned him against Arham once again, I feel Shakeel loved him completely but failed to understand his own son.

The episode was a reasonable one out of the total 5 that we have seen till now. I am liking the past phase of the drama & want to see more of how things changed once Narmeen walked into this family.

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 04.

So things have started to shape up a bit in the drama. Story is progressing but there were some of those moments where connecting the dots seemed difficult. Was it a flaw in the direction or bad editing – some scenes just didn’t go with the flow in the revelation of the story.

Arham has actually started to open up in front of Areeba & he is showing interest in her. That was in fact shown nicely that Arham felt degraded at the mention of the word sympathy where he himself expected it to be love. He uttered to himself that he has failed in love before but didn’t want it to happen again, which eventually will now. Everyone has become quite vocal about Arham & Areeba. Areeba’s never ending questions about Arham & her insightful conversations with Arham have been noticed by the whole family. Sara is taking her pride in being the first one to speak openly about Areeba’s feelings towards Arham. It was such a white lie where Areeba claims to only have the emotional sympathy with him instead of letting her friend know what her true feelings were. I think it was a bit odd that knowing Narmeen & her attitude, Areeba still asked her about the tiff between her & Arham.

Where Shahiq himself is conscious of Narmeen’s meaningless displays of public affections, he on the other hand is also trying for his marriage to work out with Narmeen. He was all furious at what she did in front of Arham & his parents but still he managed to tell how much he missed her. Where Shahiq is coming to terms with the fact that he is married to Narmeen & he is trying his best to accept her as his wife, Narmeen, by all means is perfectly pushing all the wrong buttons to disappoint him.

Even though when Narmeen knew how shallow her relation was with her Mamu & his family, why did she get married to her cousin in the first place? She knew that she almost hates them all, so why destroy the peace of their family? I really couldn’t get why she stepped back when Shakeel tried to bless his Bahu? It is kind of annoying to see Narmeen blowing every single thing out of proportion.

What I couldn’t quite get was that at one point Arham leaves the house at the mention of Areeba’s sympathy with him but on the other hand Shahiq & Narmeen are seen discussing their wedding? Parents, who have never made it obvious & are unaware of the growing feelings between them, Shahiq mentions that Areeba is quite happy with the proposal? I really didn’t get how did the situation surface without any sound background?

Arham & Areeba still have to patch things up but Narmeen actually has left the house because of their discussion on their wedding? I feel this was quite a flaw in either the direction or the editing. Where Areeba herself has not even admitted to anyone that she likes Arham, Shahiq made such a statement about her being happy with the idea of their wedding? Where did it come from? & even when nothing has actually happened, Narmeen found her ways to voice her opinions about their relation. I think what Shahiq did was absolutely right because Narmeen did cross her limits. Where Shahiq on his own is happy about Areeba being Arham’s wife, Narmeen has accused him of his hidden ulterior motive of having Areeba around him.

The episode was a bit interesting but there were some loop-holes which were quite clear. Arham once again didn’t forget to mention k ‘Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai’ & I was like ohkay bhai jaan, we get your point, can we move ahead? & I don’t really understand the use of the word Khuda where as the only word suitable for our Almighty is Allah! For the sake of the drama, the title fits well but in the dialogues I guess the lesser or no use of this word would be perfect.

The preview of the next episode was interesting as well & what seemed more interesting was a lie that Narmeen’s mother uttered about Shahiq hitting his wife. I really want to see what happens next because despite some flaws I am interested in knowing how the things will unfold.

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 03.

Sadly not much of a progress this week as well. Even though I am still interested in the drama but really want the story to move forward. Fortunately, there weren’t such repetitions in the dialogues this time but a fact again was established that Narmeen’s a negative person & everyone else is good.

Areeba’s probing was moved to another level where she thinks it’s her duty to poke & provoke Arham. All this while, I thought to myself that why isn’t anyone paying a heed to her growing interest in Arham but thank God, his mother spoke about it to her husband. She understood the interest Areeba is showing in him which for sure is a notch higher than the others. His family is laid back in his matter but Areeba seems too keen. Narmeen has gotten hold of Areeba’s feelings therefore she is openly taunting her about the situation.

It was kind of odd that given the history Narmeen has shared with Arham, she was a bit too eager to make his room for him without even been scared of being judged. Obviously, anyone would judge her for her level of utmost interest that she is showing towards him. If she wants to take responsibility like she mentioned in front of Shahiq, then she could’ve started off with any other thing in the house, but why Arham’s room to begin with?

I hope it’s not the case in this drama where they keep on procrastinating the main issue & reveal it by the end of the last episode? I hope they finally start revealing what actually happened & what changed his life. Arham’s sudden outbursts are getting really annoying & Areeba’s saint-mode-on tactics aren’t appeasing to see either. She just looks like someone curious who doesn’t know how to mind her own world.

During this episode, there was a little discussion done on Arham & his religious side, where it was revealed that Shakeel actually supported him in his choices of life whereas mother didn’t approve of such devotion which he had. But it’s sad that the support has flipped for Arham, where his father is against him but mother still believes that what she saw wasn’t a complete reality.

I think the viewers are done with making guesses & actually want to know what happened. Even though the cast is so strong & the plot is amazing too but we want to know which thunderbolt hit the happy family as I am sort of tired using my brains in trying to put the pieces of puzzles together.

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 02

This episode did not give out much except a few points to ponder over. A few things were done nicely but a bit of the dialogues seemed repetitive. The actors have worked out really well but seems like there is still something missing which is not coming across to us.

First off, I should say, the background sound effect in each one of Narmeen’s scene was absolutely annoying. They don’t have to make it so ‘sansani-khez’ whenever Narmeen’s on the screen. Ohkay, she is the bad girl, we are getting the point loud & clear. So, they don’t need to make it a bit more louder by resorting to such sounds. Narmeen & her mother, both are actually sorry excuses of human beings. Narmeen, for sure has some issues but her mother is adding fuel to the fire. Even though, she has married her daughter in the family of her own brother, she is actually giving her tips to destroy their household.

Apparently & even actually Areeba seems like a real nice person but her repetitive questions & probing doesn’t do good to her character. As told, she happens to be their childhood friend but it was a bit odd that she didn’t know that Arham & Narmeen have been in some sort of a relationship before. She kept on saying that she wasn’t interested in knowing what was going on but her timely questions to Sara spoke the opposite. Areeba is totally oblivious of what has happened to Arham in the past, also the point was  made clear by Sara when she said my parents love when you come to stay with us, followed by Areeba’s statement that I have come to stay at your home in the past too but never felt so uneasy before. Having said all this, I still don’t get how she can be unaware of Arham’s behavior. I feel there has been some sort of a miscalculation in the direction where the things kept on being repetitive & didn’t seem to move forward.

Narmeen just stays in her room as Shahiq said but I really don’t get how does she get the time to sneak out & actually torture Arham? I feel being in a family full of people, one can’t do it. This was a bit, which to me, looked unreal. Where she is just always annoyed & stays in seclusion manages to go out & pinch Arham every now & then. Where everyone is attentive towards Arham, it looks unreal that Narmeen can actually taunt him openly. What made her look more artificial was her sudden change of hair-styles. Aisha Khan has crossed her sweet 20’s so I guess she should stick to the get-ups that compliment her age. Those girly accessories, braids & kurtas seemed off her character. She is a married lady in the drama so it would’ve saved her a hassle looking like a married woman, in stead of trying to pull off the look which doesn’t suit her age nor her character.

Shahiq seems least bothered about Narmeen & he isn’t even trying. Even when he does, he knows Narmeen is not going to be happy so he just goes with the flow. I feel he will eventually be a person who would be able to maintain a balance between his wife & his family. Narmeen mentions that she loves Shahiq but another interesting fact was how she was being suspicious of Areeba & Shahiq. Which gave me an insight into her character where she must’ve done this all with Arham before like she mentioned to her mother ‘ghar mai pehle bhi aisa ho chuka hai aur abb phir Areeba ko rakh liya’.

Of all the things, I loved the conversation Sara & Arham had. Arham was apologetic of his sudden outburst but what made it more nice was when he himself knew what the problem was. He hates being guilty when he knows he is not but just because his family thinks he is, he is ready to surrender. Another dimension of Arham’s situation was revealed that in the past when he was on talking terms with Narmeen, he was religious & was trying to be a practicing Muslim. Where Narmeen showed absolute disagreement to his choices, Arham was determined at what he chose. I feel this aspect would’ve been the one which drove Narmeen against Arham. Narmeen must have tried to spoil his faith because he kept it as his priority even before her, for which she must’ve conspired something horrendous.

I do look forward to the next episode but on the other hand I wish they reveal what has happened in the past, now. A little more drag will definitely won’t be needed because they have set the plot nicely where everyone’s looking forward to know what actually happened.

Cheers,

Mujhe Khuda Pe Yakeen Hai – Episode 01

The story began with a make-believe happiness in terms of two cousins getting married but as the scenarios progressed, so many negative strings attached to the whole wedding were revealed. During the course of the drama, I felt I could see some similarity of the situations with those of ‘Meri Zaat Zarra – e – Benishaan’s‘. It was a girl back then who suffered the embarrassment & got abandoned but this time, it’s a guy who is facing the consequences & has become an outcast within his own family.

Seems like Shakeel has his sympathies with Narmeen, who happens to be his sister’s daughter as well. Even though much wasn’t revealed but it was quite figurable that Arham & Narmeen have been in some sort of an uneasy situation in the past, which has resulted in Arham’s introversion & isolation. Arham claims that what his family saw was a mere illusion & nothing else where as Shakeel – his father believes in the opposite.

Narmeen, at first seemed to be like a real nice person who was being understanding towards her husband & how he felt. By their conversation, it seemed that Shahid was unwilling to get married but agreed because of some pressures he might have gone through. Shahid has just extended some social & marital security that Narmeen wished for. Narmeen may be over the moon by getting married to Shahid but sadly the feelings aren’t mutual. Even though Saman asked Narmeen to act like an elder & let go of the past but seems like she is doing the opposite. It did come as a shock when Narmeen out of the blue started adding fuel to the fire & maligned Shakeel’s feelings more towards Arham, knowing that he has not come to terms with what happened before. Shahid actually tried to stop her but seems like she has a strong symapthy card which she wants to play every single time. Being a bahu, she should act appropriately by just keeping in mind how nice the whole family is & how considerate they are towards her but seems like she is there to divide everyone.

Areeba, who’s a daughter of Shakeel’s friend has come to stay with them but apparently she is going to bring Arham out of his misery. Out of all the people, she will understand him & make him realise that just wasting his life crying over spilt milk won’t do any good to him or his family. Arham’s mother & sister are seen supportive & at some point they do not believe at what has happened but are too skeptical in speaking against the reality that everybody else believes in. Areeba’s coming over to stay at their place reminded me of the Hindi Movie ‘Meinne Pyaar Kiya’ where the female protagonist comes over to stay at Salman Khan’s place & then falls in love. It was just a similarity that surfaced in my mind but I am sure Arham-Areeba’s story has more to it.

All the characters for now appear to be quiet real & the direction seemed to the point. I am kind of excited to see Ayesha Khan in a partially negative role, at least it’s like breaking a monotony of always being a victim. In the whole episode there weren’t any scenes which seemed dragged but rather they succeeded in building the curiosity about the certain circumstances which will unveil eventually. The drama has kicked-off really well & I hope there stays the exact reality which they have managed to portray at the beginning of the drama.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 9 Review – Must-Watch!

Mujhe Jeenay Du is turning out to be an interesting play which keeps you guessing. It also has enough tracks and variety of characters to keep the interest of the viewers alive. Some of the developments in tonight’s episode came as a complete surprise, I wasn’t expecting the story to take such a serious turn. Watching Naseeb blame Saira for Tipu’s Illness was heart-wrenching especially when you consider the fact that there are actually girls like Saira who go through all this on daily basis and have absolutely no one to turn to. Right from day one somehow all these men assumed that Saira could take care of Tipu and could look after her “husband” and his house. Naseeb could not handle his son and work himself but he expected Saira to juggle everything even though she is much younger than him and isn’t even an adult. He shifted his responsibilities to this little girl’s shoulders and now blaming her for Tipu’s illness was much more convenient than taking the responsibility himself. I was expecting Naseeb to feel bad about his decision to marry Saira after this incident but what he did was shocking considering the fact that he is a reasonable man otherwise. His actions however were in line with his character because he has always been very sensitive about Tipu. Once again Emaan Sher outdid herself in tonight’s episode, her expressions when Naseeb tried to strangle her were beyond brilliant. She is an exceptionally talented young girl and I would love to see her in more dramas. There are very few actors her age who can give such a solid performance.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 9 Review - Must-Watch!

I have said this before and I feel the need to say it every time I watch a new episode of this drama – I absolutely love the fact that we are watching more and more dramas which show that women are capable of much more than plotting and planning or playing the victim. The scene between Yasmin and Saeeda was one which we don’t see in our dramas very often. Yasmin’s attitude wasn’t too cold or too friendly towards Saeeda which made this entire scene even more realistic. Saeeda’s apology and her character itself breaks so many stereotypes about second wives which we see in our dramas all the time. Our dramas are constantly promoting the age old dictum that a woman is another woman’s worst enemy therefore it is truly refreshing to watch plays every now and then which show that there are plenty of women out there who understand and support each other. Nadia Jamil and Iffat Omer both are phenomenal actors who breathe life into every role assigned to them therefore their perfect portrayals do not come as a surprise at all.

Shaheena is another woman in this play who makes you fall in love with her over and over again. Even though she has lived a really difficult life but every time she manages to finds a reason to go on with life with enthusiasm. Mehreen Raheal’s picture perfect portrayal marks a new beginning for her career since for the first time she has gone all out and proved her versatility. Malik sb once again bailed out another person who deserved to be punished because of his own ulterior motives. The writer in a tactful and subtle manner showed why he was going all out to help these people which made this entire development even more convincing.

The preview of the next episode was extremely enticing, I can’t wait to find out what happens next. Will Saira finally be free? It seems highly unlikely but it is impossible to predict what is going to happen next.

So far, Mujhe Jeenay Du has a very solid script which has been translated on screen faultlessly. All the actors involved have been giving impressive performances throughout and I highly recommend it to all those people who are not watching it.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 8 Review – Important Developments

This episode of Mujhe Jeenay Du had some important developments to its credit and once again Mehreen Raheal completely stole the show. She is beyond brilliant as Shaheena; the way she carried herself and the manner in which she delivers her dialogues is impressive, she definitely deserves an award for her performance. Gohar Rasheed is also giving an outstanding performance in this play although he is also playing a role completely different from the ones we have seen him playing in other dramas. The writer of this drama deserves tons of credit for penning down characters which are not black and white. While there are men like Murad, Mohammadu and Saira’s father who can easily be termed as stereotypes, there are also characters like that of Naseeb and Shaheena in particular which have tons to offer. Naseeb isn’t a bad guy but he tends to lose his temper every time he gets frustrated and he treats Saira like a punching bag in these situations. As long as Shaheena was around, he was happy and he was very kind to Saira but as soon as Shaheena left he obviously blamed Saira for it too and started treating her the way he was treating her before. Also, Naseeb is a product of the system he grew up in. He is a good person at heart but Bushra’s loss, his inability to run the house or to look after his son made him do something which he knew was wrong but it seemed like a convenient option. The fact that he was pressurized into getting married to Saira also shows that overall he is different from all the other men around him. He also loved his wife unlike Murad and Muhammadu who fail to see their wives as human beings.

Although the divorce was rather sudden and somewhat unexpected as well but I liked the way Shaheena didn’t mourn over the “loss” much. Yasmin was there to comfort her and to give her a reality check as well. It is great watching these women stand by one another although they have very little control over their own lives. There is a definite attraction between Shaheena and Naseeb therefore I am wondering where this track will lead. Mohammadu’s reaction was completely in line with his character; instead of taking responsibility for his actions, he decided to teach his wife a lesson by divorcing her!

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 8 Review - Important Developments

There was a great deal of focus on Shabo in this episode. Even though his father is doing everything he can to make him happy but he feels that his father betrayed him and his mother therefore he finds it difficult to forgive him. Shabo’s situation and his feelings are easy to connect to and the writer has also given this child a definite personality. He does not get convinced easily and knows the difference between right and wrong – after all he is Yasmin’s son! Saira and Shabo also share a special bond, one which is unbreakable. At this point it would be even better if the story picks up pace and the viewers get to see how things change once all these characters get older. Emaan Sher, the child star playing Saira’s character has been phenomenal throughout, her confidence and natural portrayal is impressive.

The overall feel of this drama is very real, it manages to transport you to another world and you can’t help but feel for the characters. The preview of the next episode was very interesting. I am waiting to see how Naseeb will react once he finds out that getting married to a minor is illegal. Yasmin will also meet her husband’s second wife in the next episode, it is really difficult to predict what turn all these tracks will take in the next episode but I am waiting to find out!

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 7 Review – Outstanding!

This serial just keeps on getting better with every passing episode. Mujhe Jeenay Du has plenty of tracks which are interrelated and the variety of characters shows that the writer did not rely on clichés. So far, there has been absolutely no repetition and the story is getting more interesting. The writer and the director’s focused approach till now makes this drama one of the best drama serials of this season although it is not getting the attention it deserves but it definitely fits the bill. Mehreen Raheal completely stole the show tonight although the competition was fierce since this drama has some really solid performances to its credit. Naseeb and Shaheena’s interactions were the highlight of this episode. Naseeb needed a woman like Shaheena in his life and Shaheena also deserved better. Their scenes together do suggest that these two might have a future together after all but the question is how, since the situation is so complicated.

The focus of the story has moved from Saira to Shaheena and Naseeb in particular while Yasmin’s track also got plenty of screen time in tonight’s episode. Yasmin’s reaction when her son broke the news of her husband’s second marriage to her came as a complete surprise but it was completely in line with her character. She obviously did not know about this already and she was heart broken as well but she was not going to let Shabo ruin his future. It is always refreshing watching a play with women who are strong in their own way. Yasmin lives a meaningful life and she is strong enough to handle anything that comes her way therefore right now the change in Shaheena has to be the most pleasant development in this episode. There was a time when Shaheena couldn’t even think about leaving her husband but tonight she vowed not to forgive him and was scared that he might come back. Working in Naseeb’s house makes her feel useful and she also likes the appreciation she gets from Naseeb since Muhammadu never appreciated her. Goher Rasheed and Mehreen Raheal’s scenes together were a treat to watch. Goher Rasheed makes Naseeb’s character more likeable.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 7 Review - Outstanding!

Another cliché which the writer avoided in this serial has to be the behavior of the second wife in this entire scenario. Instead of getting insecure she told her husband to go and talk to Yasmin although her advise fell on deaf ears since he never apologized but even then it is good to see that for a change the writer has not promoted the cliché that women are women’s worst enemies! Most often in our dramas we are shown men who get brainwashed by their wives or mothers so at the end of the day it is some woman who is responsible for their actions. In this drama for a change, the female characters are helping each other and don’t see each other as competition or as enemies! I think this precedent was set by drama serial Udaari and it is good to see another drama following that example. Even though Shabo’s stepmother tried her best to win him over but he loves his mother dearly and will never allow another woman to take her place. Shabo’s feelings were shown brilliantly in tonight’s episode.

You can’t help but feel for Saira’s character every time a new episode of this drama goes on air. Saira’s incapability to deal with the situation and the manner in which she keeps on reminding her “husband” that she cannot come up to his expectations because she is too young, is so touching. Once again the child star playing Saira and Ali Murad in particular gave exceptional performances. Ali Murad is such a fine actor, he nails every single role he plays. Iffat Omer is another actress who always performs brilliantly, looking forward to seeing more of her.

I highly recommend this show to anyone who is not following it. How many of you watched tonight’s episode? Do share your thoughts about it.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 6 Review – Brilliant!

This episode had quite a few important developments to its credit and just like every other episode of Mujhe Jeenay Du this recent installment too highlighted the injustices which are so readily accepted as the right course of action by so many people. I can’t help but wonder how different this whole situation would have been if everyone directly related to Saira did not look after their own interests but invested their energies into building a proper future for this little girl. Saira does not want this life, when she came home in the middle of the night in her own innocent way, she tried to convey that she did not want to go back to her “abusive husband” but the reply she got from her brother in particular left her with no choice. Saira’s situations and everything she is going through is heart breaking. The child star playing the role definitely fits the bill and deserves an award for her performance. It is heart-wrenching watching such a young child being so conscious about her “duties” and being pressurized into leaving her childhood behind.

Tonight’s episode showed how gradually Saira is being forced to transform into a “woman” because even though she isn’t even a teenager yet but since she is married everyone expects her to forget that she is a child. Saira bid farewell to her best friend and her school in this episode. Shabo and Saira’s relationship is endearing and I am certain this love won’t die as they grow older even though Shabo has left the village. Shaheena took over Naseeb’s household chores and Naseeb’s reaction clearly showed that he missed a woman’s presence in his house. Things would have been so different had Naseeb been married to a woman his age. Saira however was a convenient option for everyone around. Naseeb’s sudden likeness for Shaheena suggested that there might be more to their track then Shaheena helping him out with Tipu and the household chores. Mehreen Raheal’s brilliant portrayal is beyond impressive. Her get-up, body language and dialogue delivery is right on point. Goher Rasheed is also bringing out the different shades in his character impressively on screen. The director deserves tons of credit for casting many of these actors in roles very different from the ones they are usually seen playing and for ensuring that all of them give their best performances.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 6 Review - Brilliant!

Yasmin’s character is one of the best characters in this drama. Her character alone says so much about so many different aspects of a woman’s life. Firstly, her dedication shows that sometimes even one person can make a huge difference. Secondly, even though Yasmin is so “empowered” in more ways than one yet at the same time her strength does not give her immunity from getting hurt or being betrayed just like many other women around her. Yasmin’s man does not value her and in this episode the viewers also found out that he went behind her back and got married to another woman. This revelation did not come as a surprise since his attitude towards Yasmin said a great deal about his mindset but the fact that he had the guts to introduce Shado with his other family came as a surprise. Nadia Jamil is a gifted actress who makes the viewers connect to her characters instantly. It is definitely great watching her play this role. Even though Yasmin is not being shown as a victim but I do feel for her since she too is fighting a constant battle and even with all her intelligence and enthusiasm she is vulnerable. I am waiting to find out how she will react to the news of her husband’s second marriage.

Saira’s conversations with Kheri and Shabo in particular were the highlight of this episode. Saira’s character has been etched-out brilliantly and translated on screen faultlessly. So far, this drama has a superb script, some amazing performances and it has been directed in a terrific manner too. Really looking forward to the next episode!

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 5 Review – Powerful Messages

This was another emotional episode of Mujhe Jeenay Du which makes you wonder what happens to girls like Saira in reality when there is absolutely no one who can help them in any way at all. Saira is lucky enough to have at least two people around her who genuinely care for her, they are there to help her out practically and most importantly they make her feel loved. Saira’s bhabi and Yasmin have always showered her with love even though they hadn’t been able to stop the marriage and could not help Saira continue her studies but even then those caring words and the hugs and kisses Yasmin gave Saira today would give someone like her the strength she needed to fulfill her new role. What happens to little girls like Saira who get married to men who are bigger monsters than Naseeb and have absolutely no one to look out for them? The reality of this sick practice hits you hard every time you see Saira’s character on screen.

Naseeb’s character is interesting because it shows a different male mentality. Unlike other men around him he knows the difference between right and wrong yet just like all the other men around him his own needs come before everything else. There is a soft and caring side to his personality but at the same time he is quite capable of becoming a monster. His character goes to show how even a seemingly loving and caring man would become a part of the system because his needs come before everything else. He isn’t like Saira’s father or even like Mohammadu but he isn’t like Yasmin either. The difference between Yasmin and Naseeb is that Yasmin is not afraid to stand against this system and for her helping these women comes before everything else. Yasmin refused to go live with her husband in the city only because she feels the women in the village need her. Naseeb on the other hand is more than willing to compromise on his “principles” if that is what suits his own needs. The variety of characters makes this drama even more interesting. I am glad that Naseeb’s character is not one-dimensional, it has depth which is why it isn’t predictable either.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 5 Review - Powerful Messages

Saira’s relationship with her “gudda” and Yasmin’s relationship with Saira was yet again the most endearing part of this episode. Saira’s love for her nephew is pure, she will do anything for him but she is not old enough to look after a child therefore she is torn between her love for him and her incapability to deal with the situation. Naseeb expected her to cook for her and iron his clothes just like Bushra used to completely ignoring the fact that she was too young to do all these chores. Watching a grown up man like him relying like that on a little girl was just plain disgusting. Naseeb wanted to put the little boy who worked at his tea stand in school but failed to see that the girl he married was the exact same age! Yasmin’s presence makes a great deal of difference in Saira’s life even though she cannot always protect her. The scene in which she hugs her and educates Saira at the same time was beautiful and poignant scene. The child star playing Saira has done complete justice to her role. The credit for this goes to the director as well because extracting such a brilliant performance from such a young child requires skill. Nadia Jamil owns her role as Yasmin; she is extremely well-suited for the role. Gohar Rasheed has also played his part flawlessly. His character also has novelty to its advantage since he isn’t just the bad guy but his character has different shades.

Mujhe Jeenay Du is turning out to be a drama which definitely strikes the right chords and keeps on giving me a reason to tune into it every week.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 4 Review – On Point!

This latest episode of Mujhe Jeenay Du was heart-wrenching. The manner in which Saira was forced and blackmailed into giving her consent for the nikkah was particularly disturbing especially because her father was the one who pressurized her the most. Naseeb’s reaction to Saira’s refusal clearly showed that although he was going along with the nikkah but this wasn’t what he really wanted; he looked relieved and not angry unlike all the other men there. The most ironic part of this entire scenario was that men who were directly related to Saira were being more heartless than the man who didn’t have blood ties with her. The fact that Naseeb did not do anything tangible to stop this nikkah from happening and “readily accepted” Saira as his wife once the nikkah took place showed that at the end of the day, he too was part of the same system in which violating human rights was a norm. Although child marriage is a clear violation of basic human rights but even then it is truly upsetting that children are put through this torture on regular basis in many parts of the world.

Saira is the perfect protagonist for telling this story; her character and her story has been written brilliantly and translated on screen impeccably. She is an intelligent little girl who could have achieved so much in life had her guardians not made this decision on her behalf. Saira will be assigned the duty of looking after her husband and more importantly his child at an age in which most children cannot even look after themselves which is why she is bound to make mistakes and get into trouble. Although Naseeb seems like a kind man and is much better than the other men in this drama but the preview of the next episode showed that he is just as capable of turning into a monster as anyone else if something happens to Tipu. Saira’s love for Tipu and the way this love was exploited to get her to marry Naseeb had to be the most upsetting aspect of tonight’s episode.

It was great watching the maulvi sahab giving so much importance to Saira’s consent yet again in this episode. We have watched a lot of dramas in which maulvis go ahead with the nikkah even when they can clearly see that the girl is being forced into giving consent. After Sammi, this is the second drama in which the writer is repeatedly stressing upon the importance of a girl’s consent – a positive message which needs to be reinforced over and over again.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 4 Review - On Point!

In this episode the viewers got to see a glimpse of Yasmin’s personal life. Although Yasmin is educated and is an independent woman and she has earned so much respect by helping the people in the village but she does not get an ounce of respect or acknowledgment by her own husband. Yasmin would never allow her man to beat her up like Shaheen does but she definitely does not have the support of her husband. On the contrary, her husband’s views about her are similar to that of men like Murad. Saira and Shaboo’s scenes have to be my favorite part of every episode since Saira is her real self and is carefree only when she is with Shaboo.

This was another impactful and well executed episode of Mujhe Jeenay Du which had some exceptional performances to its credit. It is turning out to be one of those few dramas in which all the actors give exceptional performances. The overall feel of the play and screenplay is faultless. The writer and the director’s focused approach makes this drama even more poignant.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 3 Review – Riveting Performances

This drama reminds me of Sammi because of its focused approach and the clarity with which all the issues have been highlighted. Drama serial Sammi set the right precedent by reinforcing the importance of a girl’s consent during nikkah and it is good to see Mujhe Jeenay Du stressing upon it too. Although, ultimately Saira will give into the pressure but for now it was good to see her making a decision for herself with the support of all those people who are not selfish and inhuman like Murad and even Naseeb. Naseeb also changed his decision in this episode because like all the other men around him he too is looking out for his own interests. Bakshu however is the one who should be blamed more than anyone else since he is Saira’s father. Bakshu’s character in particular is disturbing since he has no idea just how wrong he is. It is people like him who pass on these wicked customs from one generation to the other. These men who should be protecting their women rule over them and would do anything it takes to have things their way. The insignificance of a woman’s own will is the main reason why they suffer at the hands of these men.

Murad ultimately used the threat of divorce to ensure that his wife does not stand in the way of his plans and it obviously worked. Yasmin’s character has been brilliantly etched out and translated on screen. She is the kind of woman who won’t think twice before helping anyone in need but at the same time she does not let her emotions stand in the way of her well calculated actions. Instead of creating a scene at the time of nikkah she tried to look for more practical solutions. Saira’s relationship with Yasmin’s son reminds me of drama serial Rehaii and how Danish Taimoor’s character helped Shamim when she was older and ultimately married her in the end. The relationship between these two characters is heart warming. You also understand why Saira would listen to a close friend more than anyone else. It also shows how these kids are forced to make such difficult decisions at such an early age when they shouldn’t even be worrying about such things.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 3 Review - Riveting Performances

The direction and the camera work in this drama is remarkable. The manner in which the overall environment these characters are living in has been translated impressively on screen because of effortless performances and the locations is one of the best aspects of this play so far apart from a script which is authentic. Mehreen Raheal deserves a special mention here for leaving her comfort zone and excelling in a role which isn’t easy to translate on screen. Gohar Rasheed has also given a solid performance which makes you more interested in finding out what turn his track takes next. Salman Shahid’s brilliant performance, Nadia Jamil’s natural acting and the impressive performances by the child stars make this drama one of those rare plays in which there are absolutely no weak links in terms of acting. Iftikhar’s character was introduced in this episode and it is good to see Omair Rana playing this role. The flashback scenes yet again were used aptly in tonight’s episode to show how close Saira was to Bushra and how quickly things changed for her.

The preview of the next episode showed Saira’s father pressurizing her into consenting to the nikkah and it looks like this time no one will be able to help her. This serial is seriously disturbing on so many levels but then that is what is needed to make the viewers reflect upon the kind of issues women in such areas face and perhaps it will also present such victims with solutions to get out of the situation they are in.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 2 Review – Bitter Realities

These two episodes of Mujhe Jeenay Du made it quite clear that the makers of the drama want to focus on the issues they want to highlight and they are going to do so without adding any “commercial” elements in the drama. I am impressed by the writer’s focused approach; every single scene in this episode contributed something tangible to the story without beating around the bush. The director has also kept the scenes short, to the point and realistic.

The relationship between the characters became clearer in this episode and the characters were introduced impressively in these two episodes. So far, the different personality traits of the characters, their underlying motives, their thought processes and most importantly their relationship with each other have been laid down perfectly. This episode was upsetting because it showed how normal it was for Saira’s father to propose something so horrendous. It is however good to see that not everyone thinks that getting Saira married to Naseeb is a good idea. There are a lot of people including Naseeb who think it is not the right thing to do. Unlike Baaghi, Mujhe Jeenay Du has at least one man who (at least for now) does not see women as commodities. Naseeb’s love for Bushra and his reaction when Saira’s father suggested that he should get married to Saira showed that he was not like all the other men in his family. He will however ultimately succumb to the pressure.

Mujhe Jeenay Du Episode 2 Review - Bitter Realities

Shaheena decided to go back to her husband with the good news that she was carrying his son. Mehreen Raheal’s performance is beyond impressive, it is good to see her doing something entirely different from what she has done so far and excelling in it. I am certain a lot of hard work went into translating Shaheena’s character on screen in such a realistic manner. Goher Rasheed has also portrayed his character brilliantly but there were times when his clean shaven look proved to be a distraction because it didn’t go well with Naseeb’s state of mind. Salman Shahid, Ali Tahir, Sarmad Sultan Khoosat, Nadia Jamil, the actress playing Saira’s bhabhi and the child star playing Saira herself have also given impressive performances. The person responsible for casting all these actors for their respective roles deserves tons of appreciation for casting some of these actors in the kind of roles they haven’t played before. I absolutely love the way each one of these actors fit so perfectly in their respective roles and the way the story flows smoothly right from the start till the end.

Saira’s state of mind was shown beautifully in this episode. I felt for her every step of the way. The only thing she was worried about was that she would have to leave her house when she got married. The viewers are being introduced to Bushra’s character now through flashback scenes which I think is a brilliant idea of keeping her in the picture.

Mujhe Jeenay Du manages to transport you to a world which is very different from the one we live in but the sad reality that these people do not live very far from us in reality also hits home. The locations are perfect for the situations that are being shown and the director has paid attention to every tiny detail. These two episodes couldn’t have been better. Also, it is good to see some new talented actors in this drama. The actress playing the role of Bushra is beautiful and acts really well and the child stars in the play are also giving superb performances. Nowadays, when most drama makers are bent on playing it safe, it is good to see dramas like Mujhe Jeenay Du which serve a bigger purpose.

The preview of the next episode showed that Yasmin will do whatever she can in order to make sure that Saira does not get married to Naseeb. I am looking forward to watching how this development is used to educate the masses.
