We are listening to the melodious voice of Kaifi Kahlil everyday in the OST of Hania Aamir, Wahaj Ali and Zaviyar Nauman starrer Mujhe Pyar Hua Tha’s OST. We also know him from the Coke Studio 14’s super hit Kana Yaari. The song put beautiful aloch music on the map and everyone was crooning the beautiful Kana Yaari and appreciating the talent involved including Wahab Bugti, Kaifi Khalil and Eva B. Many people who were not aware of Kaifi’s talent before got know about him through Coke Studio’s Kana Yaari.

The singer was a guest on Fuchsia where he shared the struggles of his personal life. He shared the story of how excited he was when he got a call from Xulfi and how difficult it was for him to keep mum about such a huge achievement of landing a song in Coke Studio. Kamran Akmal took a swing at the former coach of Pakistani team Waqar Younis, calling him the reason for a lot of damage of our cricket team. He didn’t just stop there, he went as far as calling him a “failure”.The 35-year-old said Waqar failed as a coach in his two stints with the team in 2010-11 and 2014-16.Last night he was present in a program on Geo sports and this is what he had to say about his former coach:

Waqar bhai was a failure as coach and he caused lot of damage to Pakistan cricket. In his enthusiasm to experiment and sideline established players he put the national team back by two to three years.

Kamran Akmal also questioned Waqar for his planning.

I don’t know but he had issues with some players. He had no plans on how to take Pakistan team forward. An example was when he went to the World Cup 2015 and asked Younis Khan to open the innings or his issues on playing Sarfraz Ahmed late in the tournament.

Kamran pointed out that in Waqar’s tenure Pakistan slipped down the ICC rankings in all formats.

In a country where life of a transgender is as hard as imaginable Kami Sid has made it from fashion shoots to short films. Produced by Rizvilia Productions, Rani is a short film about a transgender Pakistani woman who sets out to take care of an abandoned baby. The story also tackles social issues currently prevalent in the world.

Kami recently announced on Instagram that her short film, Rani, had made it to an international film festival.

Speaking of her recent venture on her social media handle, Kami said,

“Super excited to finally announce that Rani will premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival.”

The film will be premiered at the festival on April 30, 2018.

The teaser itself is so hilarious; I think we would all be screaming with laughter once we see the whole movie. Hamza Ali Abbasi has once again experimented with his look; he has brilliantly carried off the dorky look. We will also see Humayun Saeed in a new look, it makes him look dangerous in a funny way (does that make sense?). The beginning of the trailer would make you think that you are watching the wrong trailer, but then it takes you by surprise.

The cast is amazing, and the overall look of the movie seems promising! The teaser did not give an insight into the story and has left us curious to know more. I hope we get to see a full-fledged trailer soon to feed our curiosity.

Kalmoohi is a recently concluded drama of Geo Entertainment starring Maria Waasti in lead role, written by Ibne Aas. It was a typical formula story of an orphan (‘mazloom’) girl living with step/half siblings and step mother, facing all sorts of hardships one can imagine. Such stories are generally well received and as per Geo Tv, this play also received high TRP thus it counts as a successful drama. Kalmoohi has concluded but citing its potential, a publishing house from Lahore has decided to issue same story as a novel. The writer Ibne Aas has also agreed and completed nearly 200 pages of this upcoming novel. However it may take a bit longer to complete the novel as Ibne Aas is quite busy in writing dramas after the success of Kalmoohi.

As per writer Ibne Aas, “By providing chances to upcoming writers the production houses can overcome the lack of quality drama writers. But the production houses hesitate to try any upcoming writer resulting in a monopoly of few drama writers. Due to repeated stories in dramas viewers have shifted to foreign dramas.”

Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin and award wining Pakistani filmmaker Sabiha Sumar have collaborated for an upcoming documentary film ‘Azmaish’ which is about the search by two women. Kalki and Sabiha, go on an extraordinary journey across Pakistan and India to understand why people in their countries are turning to religious extremism for answers. Many films have created rift between the neighbor countries but the females are trying to maintain peace through their documentary.

Azmaish is Kalki’s first Indo-Pak film and she is all set for the promotions despite all the controversy and tension between the two countries.

In a live Facebook session, Kalki answered the questions of what could be her prospective sources of funds and also revealed more about her upcoming project which is an Indo-Pak collaboration. She clarified that the documentary looks at the two countries outside the context of conflict and rather focuses on what the common man on the street actually thinks about the relations between the two countries instead of how the relationship has been projected by the media and the political forces.

She added that “mixing arts with politics is dangerous and it’s important that art and culture remain the voice of the minority.” Talking about her trip she admits that “she was surprised to see that Pakistan is still a largely agricultural society with feudal landlords owning and running entire villages. When Sumar came to Mumbai, Kalki took her around the city in local trains and on Holi they visited some slums before travelling to Haryana.”

The Indo-Pak film will be released in Germany first as it is co-produced by a German channel and then will be released in India. Kalki finally added that if the movie would not be shown in Pakistan then the last resort for Pakistani’s would be watching it through the internet.

Kalank is a Har Pal Geo’s popular drama which features a stellar cast including Hira Mani, Nazish Jahangir and Junaid Khan. The drama is a 7th Sky Entertainment presentation. Abdullah Kadwani & Asad Qureshi are the producers of the show. The drama has been directed by Mohsin Mirza and it is written by Edison Idrees Masih. The drama aired daily at 9:00 pm on Har Pal Geo.

Today, the last episode of the drama serial Kalank aired. Fans loved the happy ending of the drama serial Kalank. They appreciated that Sara chose Daniyal over Wahaj. They loved the performances of all the actors especially Nazish Jahangir and Hira Mani. Fans were happy that finally Geo TV has given a unique ending where the girl did not settle down with an egoistic and toxic male character.

Fans didn’t like the negative character of Durraiya in the drama but they loved the acting of Nazish Jahangir as Durraiya. Fans criticized the wedding sequence of the drama especially the dance part. A few days ago, Hum Television’s upcoming drama “Kala Doriya” made headlines on social media in which Farhan and Sana Javed were rumored to be paired together.
