In what appears to be a blatant show of plagiarism, a Coca Cola TVC in the name and style of “Coke and Music” has used Farhad Humayun’s version of “Neray Aah’s” distinct vocalization, guitar rhythm, tempo, music accents, vocal melody and delivery to broadcast its TVC on general television and YouTube/Instagram/Twitter as a teaser for the newest Coke Studio season.

“The infringement of Farhad Humayun’s content by Coca Cola is a great disappointment as the corporation professes to champion the efforts of the local music industry but has acted otherwise”, says media.

Farhad Humayun mentioned that “Stealing so Blatantly & shamelessly, they’ve lifted the groove, melody, staccato vocalization, accents, tempo from my song, not the film version nor the coke studio version(which is also my arrangement). This has to stop!”. 

The artist has therefore, been forced to seek justice through legal channels.

Today, the last episode of the drama serial Fareb aired on Hum TV. The ending of the drama is getting mixed public reactions.

Fareb viewers loved the happy ending of the drama but they didn’t like the incomplete conclusion to Reshma’s character. They loved the character of Sultan as well. Fans are praising the acting of the brilliant Pakistani actress Maria Wasti and the other actors of Fareb. A social media user wrote, “this is not the proper ending of Fareb, it needs a better conclusion”. Another social media user praised the team for putting up a decent show. Saad’s dad in Ehd E Wafa, isn’t just any regular person. He is Brigadier Faraz, one of the most lovable characters to have existed in the history of Pakistani television. We say this because this one man has charmed and wowed the audience ever since 1990, when he played the endearing role of cadet Faraz in the mini TV series. Following Suneheray Din, Faraz Inam again played an army officer i.e. Captain Faraz in Alpha Bravo Charlie and now he reprises the same character, albeit with a promotion as Brigadier Faraz in Hum TV’s Ehd E Wafa.

In a recent interview, Faraz Inam shared how the character had stuck with him for life, as the author cum actor did not do anything else on TV other than the plays he’s famous for.

“The fact that I did not continue in showbiz to play other roles, made the character of Gentleman Cadet Faraz, then Captain Faraz and now Brig. Faraz has stuck to me for life. This character was conceived in such a way that the viewers connected with him, thinking it is for real,” said Faraz Inam while talking to spotlight.

“They never got enough of him, always wanting to know more about him and I guess that’s what kept him alive all these years through different generations,” added the actor further.

Talking about reprising the role of Faraz after almost two decades of Alpha Bravo Charlie, and having to live up to a name, Faraz Inam shared how the director Saifee Hassan had come to his rescue. “I was afraid I may not be able to do justice to this character who had remained so popular with fellow Pakistanis all these years. But he eased me off and encouraged me to remain calm and natural; and the character of Captain Faraz, now Brig. Faraz will automatically possess me. What you see on the screen now is a result of the beautiful advice that the director gave me,” said Inam.

Faraz Inam also talked about his equation with Ahad Raza Mir as the former plays the later’s dad in Ehd E Wafa. Sharing how he had had a good bonding with Ahad, Faraz stated, “Ahad is a very respectful boy who has his head securely on his shoulders despite being such a successful and famous celebrity. His humble nature and down to earth personality really eased me off too and in him I saw my real son, Faaris who is of similar age as Ahad is shown in the initial episodes of Ehd-e-Wafa.”

Faraz Farooqui is an actor who started making social media content and he slowly started acting in dramas. His appearance in Akhara as Sultan has become one of his best performances and he was able to overshadow even bigger stars with how good his transformation was. He was a guest on Mazaq Raat and spoke about his life, career and bond with twin brother and actor Hammad Farooqui.

Faraz Farooqui revealed that being a twin can be an issue in the industry but it helped and became a blessing in disguise. He said that Hammad was already working when he decided to start acting and people knew him as Hammad Farooqui’s twin brother. His recognition as Faraz Farooqui as an individual star came later on.

The star said that he used to get work as people who could not get Hammad would call him. He also revealed how amazing his brother has been for him. Faraz Farooqui said that Hammad has always been his pillar and even in acting, his presence only made things easier and not the opposite. He added that they can sometimes have differing points of view in life but their love is unconditional. Faraz said that twins are connected while they are in the mother’s womb and that connection has remained between the brothers.

Akhara is a unique story with a strong cast that managed to pull the eye balls towards it. The inclusion of energy, action and sports added a flare to the drama and Faraz Farooqui was the star whose character was the most unexpected thing about Akhara and one of the main reasons for its success. As Akhara is coming to the end tonight, Faraz made some revelations about Akhara.

Faraz shared that he picked this role as this allowed him to have a unique character on screen, totally different from what is normally shown on television. He also shared that he had a very tough routine where he used to eat his meals and work out so he can look like a genuine wrestler and he is glad that the hard work paid off.

He said that he knew that the death of Sultan would actually pick the drama up and he decided to take on this character as he knew he would be able to pull it off. He shared that he was first selected for the role but then they roped in Sanjay Dutt. Pakistani-American actor Faran to Star in Scandal’s Finale

Faran appeared as Bashran’s President Rashad in second and fourth episode of the show respectively.

US President Mellie Grant’s introduces him as the guest of honor at a state dinner designed to mend relations with the unstable Bashrani government and as a step toward peace in Middle-East.

Bashran is soon to become a nuclear power and the aim of the episode was to get President Rashad to sign on a de-proliferation agreement. Rashad doesn’t cave in initially but eventually agrees when he is saved from an assassination attempt, the episode also hinted a possible romance between The US President and President Rashad.

In the fourth episode a spark is shown between both Presidents while they are struggling for the Middle East peace summit between Bashran and Dacal to succeed.

Amidst all this a coup in Bashran unseats President Rashad. Mellie insists that US sends troops into Bashran to restore Rashad’s presidency while Olivia accuses her of letting her personal feelings for Rashad cloud her better judgement.

Over all Faran did an amazing job, the intensity he brought to President Rashad’s character is downright beautiful.

Not sure if he’ll be returning to the show after this whole coup scene but we certainly hope he does.
