Tonight’s episode of Dobara was engaging and intriguing. After a long time, Mahir and Mehru’s on-screen chemistry and their relationship took center stage even though Mahir showed more ‘interest’ in Narmeen than anticipated. The attention to detail in this particular episode stood out for me more than anything else. For this reason, this was the most well-executed and directed episode of Dobara. From the chai scene in the kitchen to the reasons for the delay of the flight; every single scene resonated with me. The story moved forward effortlessly and the performances were on point. Even though Dobara did drag in between, I am glad that these last few episodes are crisp and engaging. After watching so many recent dramas with miscasting and sloppy direction; I find myself appreciating Danish Nawaz’s direction and casting more than before. Hadiqa Kiyani and Bilal Abbas Khan’s performance in this episode made me believe they were a perfect match, ironically at a time when Mahir seems to be giving mixed signals yet again. This was also another one of those episodes showing how Mahir was better at problem-solving and getting what he wanted than anyone else.
Well Written and Executed
Tonight’s episode opened with Mahir praising Mehru, just the way she expected him to. Soon, he was shown being the father figure to both Minal and Zameer. For the first time, we got to see these 4 as a family. I have to agree with Mehru, even though Mahir is much younger than her but he is far more mature than many others around him. He had to deal with real-life issues at a young age and had to look out for himself more than once therefore finding his way out of difficult situations is something that comes naturally to him. I loved the chai scene mainly because it was acted out so well.
This was another episode of Dobara with meaningful conversations. The way Mahir mentioned his past life more than once suggested right in the beginning that Narmeen’s comeback had brought back memories. Mehru, obviously, had no idea what was going on but she could sense that there was something different about Mahir’s behavior. Instead of ignoring Narmeen, Mahir actually decided to talk to her which was unexpected. Mahir was much more ‘contained’ in front of her considering how he actually felt. His demeanor and way of talking did not give away much which made this scene even more interesting. Narmeen sounded more bitter and it seemed as if she was more attracted toward Mahir even now. The camerawork and performances in this scene made it a treat to watch. The way he got Narmeen’s number and then got in touch with her suggested that he felt there was nothing wrong with the two connecting in this manner. Later on, he went as far as calling her back and taking her out. Narmeen from the beginning appeared to be flirting with Mahir although her dialogues were not written on those lines Zoya Khan’s performance definitely pointed in that direction. Bilal Abbas Khan on the other hand kept his performance subtle and it was difficult to comprehend Mahir’s actual feelings. His actions definitely suggested that he felt he was entitled to being ‘friends’ with Narmeen. By the end of this episode, Narmeen confessed that she was still in love with Mahir.
In this day and age, when there is a lack of communication between couples or anyone at all in dramas, it is laughable. Tonight, when Mehru failed to inform Mahir that she was leaving, it was one such situation. She could have easily sent him a voice or text message to inform him about her plans. Mahir’s reaction however reflected his disturbed and confused state of mind. Mehru has her own way of showing her love towards Mahir, as the preview of the next episode suggested, she was shown inaugurating a hospital with the same name as Mahir’s father. Babar found out about Narmeen tonight, I thought this was pretty interesting since I was wondering why Babar joined the office. He has a soft corner for Mehru therefore he will end up telling her about Narmeen. Right now, Mehru’s state of mind is such that anything can be expected from her. She mentioned that she was willing to let Mahir go if that made him happy in the previous episode.
Final Remarks
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode of Dobara. It was not faultless but overall it was entertaining and well-written. It is difficult to predict how the drama will end since Mahir, Narmeen and Mehru’s triangle is unlike any other. Will it be a happy ending for Mahir and Mehru or will Mahir and Narmeen be together in the end? It will definitely be better if Mahir and Mehru get a happy ending. I still have an ill feeling that something might happen to Mehru, I really hope not!

Veteran Pakistan television actor Sajjad Kishwar passes away at the age of 89. Sajjad Kishwar was born in 1933, in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. He was was a well-known Pakistani film and television actor. In later years of his 60 years long career span, he mostly worked from Pakistan television’s Islamabad station and acted in many popular dramas. He breathed his last in Rawalpindi, after a prolonged illness.
He passed away on 24 May 2022, veteran actor Sajjad Kishwar’s funeral prayers were announced to be offered in Committee Chowk, Rawalpindi.
The actor has done uncountable hit performances and made his significant place in acting. Sajjad Kishwar received lifetime achievement awards, Pakistan television awards and many other awards. He worked in Radio Pakistan and got lifetime achievement award for his services for Radio Pakistan.

Sonya Hussyn on Comparisons With Priyanka Chopra
Sonya Hussyn has often been called Priyanka Chopra of Pakistan. Many people also believe that Sonya got cosmetic surgeries to look more like the Bollywood actress. She has also been accused of copying Priyanka’s look more than once. The actress is probably not to be blamed because there must have been pressure on her to look like the Bollywood actress, especially in photo shoots. In a recent interview, Sonya’s first reaction after she was shown one of her latest photoshoots also suggested that the make-up artists and stylists make a conscious effort to make her look like Priyanka. After looking at her picture Sonya asked if the host wanted to know how she managed to look like Priyanka Chopra.
Talking about the comparisons, Sonya said that she does not dislike the fact that people often draw comparisons between her and Priyanka. She also said that she does not feel that she looks like Priyanka. Her statement also suggested that photographers made a conscious effort to take pictures from those angles which made her look more like the Bollywood actress. This particular photoshoot went viral because a rather unusual look of the Bollywood actress was copied yet again and the similarities were too obvious.
Ramsha Khan on Being Compared To Anushka Sharma
Ramsha Khan stepped into acting only a few years back but she is already well recognized as a well-established actor who takes her craft seriously. Ramsha is also known for choosing the projects she works in really carefully. So far, she has managed to earn the reputation of playing dynamic and powerful roles. More than once the public has highlighted the fact that Ramsha Khan bears an uncanny resemblance to Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. Ramsha Khan has talked about how that makes her feel more than once. Ahsan Khan asked her how she felt about it and without thinking twice she replied that she did not like such comparisons. She wants to be known as Ramsha Khan and not as Anushka Sharma look alike.

Hania Aamir’s Take on Being Compared To Alia Bhatt
Hania Aamir is one of the most sought-after actresses in Pakistan. It was only recently when she revealed that her resemblance with Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has actually contributed to her career in more ways than one. She candidly shared in an interview that her innocent looks and dimple are often compared to that of Alia’s. She also mentioned that when a brand signs Alia Bhatt as their brand ambassador, Hania is their choice in Pakistan. We have witnessed Hania and Alia promoting the same brands on different sides of the border. Maybelline, Garnier, Cornetto, and Lays are some of the brands which both the actors have endorsed in the past.
Unlike Ramsha Khan, Hania does not mind being compared to Alia Bhatt because she believes that Alia Bhatt is a good actress and being compared to her is a compliment. While Hania made this statement in a positive manner, the Indian media covered the news in a way that was not positive! They made it sound like Hania’s entire career rested on Alia’s popularity! In Pakistan however, the public largely believes that Hania is more talented than Alia and is more good-looking as well.
Zhalay Sarhadi’s Views about Comparisons to Priyanka Chopra
Zhalay Sarhadi is known for her strong and confident personality more than anything else. She started her career as a host and right from the beginning she has been compared to Priyanka Chopra. In an interview, she shared that she entered in showbiz in the same year when Indian channels were banned in Pakistan and Priyanka became Miss World in the same year. She shared that when she hosted her first show at that time, most people used to mistake her for Priyanka. She was even approached by an Indian producer for playing Priyanka’s body double in a film. Zhalay never liked such comparisons and she did not like this offer.
In an interview as well, she shared that she was proud of being Zhalay and she did not consider being compared to Priyanka a compliment. She also shared that all the young people out there should identify with their own individuality as opposed to copying others. She also replied to a follower on Instagram about the comparisons. Her reply clearly showed that she did not even believe that Deepika was her lookalike! Zhalay always had a clear stance about this even though the Indian media gave her more coverage than any other lookalike from the Pakistani industry.
Hira Mani’s Thoughts on Comparison With Katrina Kaif
Hira Mani has made a big name for herself over the years. She has always expressed her love for Bollywood actors openly. She is a big fan of Kareena Kapoor and Shahrukh Khan. Even when she is criticized for being their fan, she does not hold back. But, when a follower compared her to Katrina Kaif, she was not happy with the comparison! Clearly, Hira is also proud of being Hira Mani and would not want to be mistaken for any Bollywood celebrity.

Indian media perhaps gave most attention to the comparisons between Zhalay Sarhadi and Priyanka Chopra. Perhaps because Zhalay was actually offered a project based on her resemblance. Most of this media coverage was done as Priyanka Chopra’s lookalike from Pakistan.
However, when it came to Hania Aamir, the stance of the Indian media was anything but likable. They actually credited Hania’s success to Alia Bhatt and reported it in such a way as if Hania had no talent or standing of her own. This came after Hania’s candid and positive reply about being compared to Alia Bhatt. It was really disappointing to see the perverse manner in which this news was covered across the border.
Each one of these Pakistani actresses has a different opinion regarding the comparisons. Most of these actresses would rather not be compared to Indian actresses and they prefer being known for their work. They want people to know them personally because they have worked hard over the years to make a name for themselves. We also feel that certain brands need to stop putting pressure on these celebrities to look more like their look-alikes from across the border. It is evident that there have been a number of times when they had to sport looks which their look-alikes from Bollywood had already sported. Surely, this is not a good trend because these actresses have a standing of their own.
Last year, Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Dr Kashif Ansari, Ahmet Faruk Bakacak, Dr Junaid Ali Shah announced about their upcoming mega project Salahuddin Eyyubi. The drama would be a period project based on the life of Muslim leader Sultan Salahuddin Eyyubi. The grand making of the project has been started. The contract was already signed last year between Akli Films and Ansari and Shah films who will be making a mega production drama based on the life of Islamic warrior Sultan Salahuddin Ayubi.
Today, Humayun Saeed has given an insight into the making of the grand project as the huge sets are being organized for the drama. A few months ago, the producers also finalized the cast of the drama. Ushna Shah, Adnan Jilani, Farhan Agha, and Ayesha Omar, were the first actors who convincingly made their way to the series.

PTV Home’s star studded drama Dushman has created a buzz on social media. The drama has a stellar cast and an engaging story. Fans loved Naila Jaffri’s presence in the drama.
The cast of the drama Dushman includes Naila Jafferi, Mohsin Gillani, Nadia Afgan, Rose Muhammad, Hassan Niazi Sabeeka Imam, Saman Ansari, Ayub khoso, Nayyar Ijaz and many more. The drama has been produced by Montblanc Entertainment and it will soon be aired on PTV Home. The executive producer of the drama is Tamoor Tariq, it is produced by Zeeshan Ahmed, the director of the drama is Abdullah Badiniand it is written by ace writer Ali Moeen, the DOP of the drama is Zaib Rao.

He further added, “and then come the people who claim to be your friend but never appreciate you, You might be very big celebrities and powerful directors but you won’t be bigger than Bushra Ansari and Qawi Khan who always render their support to me, I would urge all those friends to unfollow me, if I would do that, it will hurt your ego”

Joyland has become Pakistan’s official representative at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Headlined by filmmaker Saim Sadiq and director Sana Jafri, the film boasts Alina Khan, Sania Saeed, Sarwat Gilani, Ali Junejo and Rasti Farooq in the cast.
The team brought desi glamour to the Cannes red carpet with Sania Saeed wearing a traditional gharara while Sarwat also opted for a fusion green outfit to represent Pakistan. Tonight, when Mehru failed to inform Mahir that she was leaving, it was one such situation. She could have easily sent him a voice or text message to inform him about her plans. Mahir’s reaction however reflected his disturbed and confused state of mind. Mehru has her own way of showing her love towards Mahir, as the preview of the next episode suggested, she was shown inaugurating a hospital with the same name as Mahir’s father. Babar found out about Narmeen tonight, I thought this was pretty interesting since I was wondering why Babar joined the office. He has a soft corner for Mehru therefore he will end up telling her about Narmeen. Right now, Mehru’s state of mind is such that anything can be expected from her. She mentioned that she was willing to let Mahir go if that made him happy in the previous episode.
