We all wanted to know how the actors felt while shooting for Alif. How was their experience? What was the best part of their character? And so many other questions that we all wanted to know. So, Ahsan Khan urf Taha Bin Abdul Alla answered some interesting questions during an interview with FUCHSIA.
What was your first reaction after reading Alif’s script? Ahsan humbly answered that when an actor is offered a character, there is a reason behind it. He further added that he doesn’t work much or say yes to all the offers, so he had to see with whom he will work, the director, the production, and most importantly, will he enjoy the character himself. After checking everything, he said yes to the script.
Ahsan had 50 or 60 scenes altogether, but the whole idea was so powerful, everything was so well written, every scene was so intense, and he enjoyed every bit of it. There was a reason behind the drama- to develop a strong relation with Allah, and Alif was special. He was satisfied with his character and was happy that he did it.
Was there any dialogue that you felt happened to you in real life? Ahsan explained that if you have any skill in you, it is God gifted. You are nothing without Allah, so the powerful your relationship is with Allah, the more satisfying life you will live.
Any funny memories during shooting? Ahsan laughed and replied that it was too cold so, there was nothing funny, except Manzaar Sahab used to walk around the set with a big shawl on his shoulders, and everyone used to laugh at him. Ahsan shared something interesting as well. Haseeb, the director, used to play sad music before shooting to bring everyone into their characters.

The Alif actress was offered the role of Hania in blockbuster drama serial Mere Paas Tum Ho but she rejected it.
In a recent interview with Momin Ali Munshi, she revealed the reasons for not accepting the role of Hania.
Kubra Khan has no regret of rejecting the role. “I don’t regret at all. Hira did a great job, I genuinely believe she did a great job,” she said.
She revealed the reason behind not accepting the role and shared, “It happens that when you read a script you feel a connection and for some time I have been wanting to do scripts to which I feel connected. When I read the role of Hira in Mere Paas Tum Ho, I was not able to relate that much. I couldn’t relate to it and I knew if I can’t relate to it then I cant perform.”
Kubra Khan is currently working in London Nahi Jaungi which is written by Khalil-ur-Rehman. She shared her views about Khalil-ur-Rehman’s problematic views.
“My opinion about Khalil Sahab is-his art is amazing, it’s beyond amazing. But I do agree that there are things he says there is no need of that. I am doing London Nahi Jaungi because his art is phenomenal. I am going for his art, I have no interactions with him,” she said.
She further justified about why she is working on his script and said, “The work he does is good but I do disagree with a lot of things he says.”
Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly have kept their fans waiting since a long time. Sahad fans, as they call themselves, have always wanted to see their favorite onscreen couple married, eversince the two announced their engagement last June.
Rumors were ripe that Sajal and Ahad would tie the knot this year in March in Turkey but Ahad denied the rumors stating that wasn’t the case. However, it seems, the only rumor was that the wedding would take place in Turkey because Sajal and Ahad are indeed getting married in March 2020.

Ayeza Khan‘s character Mehwish in Meray Paas Tum Ho had negative shades. Although Ayeza has done a few negative characters before, she hadn’t gone all out and done a vamp like Mehwish, who valued nothing over her materialistic desires.

However, on the same note, Ayeza Khan denied having been harassed at all. Replying to the same post, Ayeza stated, that it had been nothing but a farce.
In the gist of it, Ayeza stated that what the man had said had been nothing but a farce because all she had received was love, respect and warmth from the audience. Ayeza also said that she had been surprised at the bloggers and people who had been sharing the tweet without confirming it with her.

She shared, “The name of my character is Mahira and she is someone who wasn’t ambitious, but due to something that’s happened, she has to start working. How she starts to feel her husband is acting strange due to his raging insecurities, his own problems, and how she overcomes them and ends up balancing her work-life and home-life together.”
The Laal Kabootar actress further said, “My character is very impactful and I think the message in it is also how women are not necessarily ambitious but later on, when they’re confronted with circumstances, how they do overcome them. It’s very good to show that women don’t necessarily start off being ambitious – sometimes they don’t even work because of ambition but because of necessity.”

“Yes, I’m doing the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Kaithi. Releases on February 12, 2021.” The remake will be produced by SR Prakashbabu and Reliance Entertainment.

Pakistani dramas and their stories are based on variety of characters which cover pretty much all the members that form a family unit. It includes showing the dynamics through characters belonging to different age brackets and generations. Usually, the writers prioritize working on protagonists and some supporting characters but when it comes to the characters of parents, they often treat them as an afterthought. Parents are building blocks of a family unit, therefore while watching such characters on screen, the viewers automatically expect the parents to be rational, substantial and strong. It is unfortunate that a lot of times, the writers show parents as helpless as can be, which makes their characters unrealistic and unconvincing.
Pakistani dramas indeed are based on reality and portray different versions of real-life incidents, however the writers also forget that through their dramas, they can also preach people of how they shouldn’t actually be, which includes parental roles as well. Over the years, Pakistani drama viewers have come across quite a lot of such parental characters that were quite annoying and did not really make much sense. A character can be negative or positive or even at times grey which makes it easier for the viewers to perceive them but then there come such characters who form a league of their own and they end up being the most annoying ones.

Saba’s Father (Khaas)
Although Khaas ended last year, the amount of annoyance Saba’s father Faraz put the viewers through has still not slipped their minds, therefore he deserves to be in this list. When the drama started, Faraz was shown to be such a father who believed in his daughters and wanted to see them happy, being independent and doing everything on their own terms but as the story progressed, the picture turned out to be completely different than the promo itself. The writer obviously showed Amaar being manipulative but Faraz not only ended up getting manipulated but it got to the point where he stopped using his own brains and started doubting his daughter who he loved quite a lot. It was disturbing seeing Saba being put through so much family pressures and the root cause of it being Faraz not even gracing Saba with a chance to explain herself. The redemption of Faraz was also quite unconvincing because after prolonged resentment for his daughter, one fine day he woke up and believed Saba’s friend Anum and thought that was enough. Faraz was a unique case where he didn’t believe in using his own ears and brains, may be he didn’t want to put a lot of burden on his senses.
Taimoor’s Mother (Balaa)
Shama was shown to be quite close to her son as well as her daughters. In the beginning she didn’t even shy away from taking a stand for her children because she knew what was better for them. Her character once again took one bad form after another where she forced Nigar, the villain of the family to woo her only son Taimoor to talk him into getting married to her, that too when she knew the kind of nature Nigar had. As the drama progressed, Shama’s senses started shutting down one after another. The character not only died a tragic death but the way she lived was more painful, not because of the zulm o sitam directed at her, but because of the way she stopped taking charge of the situation and started fearing Nigar. It is unrealistic that a mother, who could see through her daughter in law’s manipulation didn’t even try once to solve her family issues. The way she turned a blind eye to her youngest daughter Batool was sickening, also the way she let her other daughter Saleha die without going with her to the doctors was also ridiculous and unconvincing. It is unfortunate that Shama ended up showing God-fearing people as dumb and stupid.
Rida’s Mother (Kahin Deep Jalay)
Khadija is another parent which is far from the viewer’s comprehension. The audience of this drama are finding it very hard to understand how she raised such loving kids who were so close to one another because as the story has progressed, it has become quite evident that she as a parent did not have any say or play a role in their lives whatsoever. Right in the initial stages of her son’s marriage, she understood that his wife Shameela was up to no good, but she chose to stay silent. Yes, it was her way of maintaining peace in her family but when Shameela started chewing onto the sibling relationships and caused strain between them, it was Khadija’s responsibility to speak to each one of them individually. The writer has tried to make Shameela look like a culprit but Khadija also takes the cake for facilitating Shameela and providing her a playground to do what she wants. Helplessness of Khadija is actually blood boiling and injurious to viewers’ mental health.
Mairah’s Mother (Mera Dil Mera Dushman)
This mother is another annoying character of the newly airing drama Mera Dil Mera Dushman. Imagine the director must be finding her character so annoying that even before she completes her sentence, the scene ends. It is purely because everyone knows that there’s nothing important that she is going to say which will contribute to the drama and its story. All she does is cry and pant. Right from the moment the drama started, she embraced bechargi and took her role as an ambassador of helplessness with full devotion. She was pretty unhappy with Zafar’s proposal and right after she found out that Zafar had a daughter Mairah’s age, she fainted as if she won’t be able to survive this apocalypse. The very next day, she was giving pep talk to her daughter on Walima stage that Zafar was her husband and she shouldn’t say anything against him? To behoshi ka drama kyun bhai? Oh, imagine the importance of this character that till now 11 episodes of this drama have gone air and this character is nameless. *fainted*
Nihaad’s Mother (Main Na Janoo)
This mother is probably wearing a fly mask (cover worn around horse’s eyes) because she is so one-dimensional that she puts everything one to shame. She is a unique case of being blind despite having eyes whereas ironically in this drama, the character of Nain is supposed to be blind but he happens to be the most logical one of this paglon ki toli. Asma has seen her son Nihaad abducting Saira from her mehndi function, still she continues to say that it is Saira who is luring her son and not giving up on him? As much as this character is sickening and annoying, it must’ve been very easy for the actor to play this role because all she has to do is repeat the same dialogue over and over again which is ‘Nihad ne kuch nahi kiya, Saira ne isay phasaya hai’. Round of applause of this annoying mother who thinks she has given birth to a saint and everyone else is a sinner. Height of being delusionally blind and blindly delusional.
Kiran’s Mother (Main Na Janoo)
Tehmina, the way the actress has portrayed this role is pretty annoying itself but the way the writer has written it is a whole new story. A woman hell bent on ruining her daughter’s life? Why would any mother do that deliberately despite knowing the truth that Nihad is not into his daughter and he is very much in love with Saira? A scheming plotting character who is purely inspired by Starplus because no matter what storm takes over her life, her kajal never smudges, eye makeup stays smokey and the curls are always tight and intact. An overly exaggerated character who has nothing good to over to the drama world!
Zamin’s Mother (Thora Sa Haq)
Munazzah Begum is another gone case who is manipulative and a back-stabber. She has backstabbed her husband, the owner of her house Rabia, her son Zamin and her two daughters in law Seher as well as Hareem. Munazzah is a perfect example of a sweet-cutter who will stab you with a dagger in your heart with a smile on her face and will make you believe that you walked towards the knife and hurt yourself because she didn’t do anything. Right from the beginning, Munazzah has tried everything to just save the roof over her head and it seems she will lie to Zamin once again upon being asked about why she didn’t get her own place and chose to stay with Rabia. Munazzah obviously has her sights on the wealth and luxuries that she has gotten used to, that is why she doesn’t care what her son goes through. Atomic explosions cockroaches aur Munazzah ka baal bhi baaka nahi kar sakte!
Zamin’s Father (Thora Sa Haq)
Waqar uncle was pretty swift in wrapping Imam Zamin around Zamin’s forearm and setting a sehra on his head but when it came to owning the mess he created and the lies and deceit he fabricated, he conveniently forced the writer to cut his character short and allow him an easy exit out of this messy situation. Why was it so hard for Waqar to speak the truth and not putting his son through so much mental and emotional turmoil. This was yet another case of unnecessarily dragged and exaggerated helplessness. Waqar uncle seemed pretty fine during the days when he was alive, which made the viewers wonder how could he, considering the heavy secret he was keeping in his heart.
Afreen’s Father (Dar Khuda Se)
Another curious case of bechargi taken to a whole new level. All this character does is cry and doubt all his children. Yes, a few of them are rotten eggs but the one who stood by his side and financially supported the entire family Afreen, when things got messy in her life, he conveniently turned a blind eye and continued to do what he was good at; cry. Tamkeen was eager to get married and when she chose a fruit vendor for herself, the ultimate Abba Jaan rejected his proposal citing his status not meeting Abba Jaan’s status, as if he himself was a mayor of Karachi. It had to take the culprit’s testimony for Abba Jaan to believe that Afreen was never involved with anyone and was in fact a victim of workplace harassment but the fact remains that he chose not to believe his daughter and show faith in her when she needed it the most.
Both The Aunties (Jo Tu Chahay)
It will be a waste of time discussing these characters separately because the writer has painted them with one brush and made them a carbon copy of each other. These two women are upto no good, they are greedy, manipulative and conniving. Also, it is amusing that very conveniently, they put the blame on others whenever something goes wrong in their lives, instead of introspection and self-reflecting. The way these two women wag their tongues and spew venom out of their mouths sends shockwaves through viewer’s brains and it is unfortunate that only due to hatred for one another, they continue to ruin the peace of their households and ruin the lives of their children!

She talked about how people have different needs and said, “Everyone has different needs when it comes to working out. My aim is to lower my fat levels. For that I people lift heavy but I’m doing a mix of HITT/Tabata/Circuit training for now. It’s hard but it works. It helps build my stamina and endurance big time. Lifting will come later for me. Its gonna take time because fat loss and weight loss are 2 different things.“
Navin Waqar revealed her diet and wrote, “Now the diet: you can probably tell from my insta stories that I eat a lot so here is what I do: I balance. I count calories. Eat good carbs like brown rice and roasted/steamed veggies. Chicken, fish, eggs and lean meat is a must protein for me coz I don’t do shakes. I snack on blueberries, sugar free/whole wheat cookies, almonds and dark chocolate. I have smoothies once a week. Clear soups with veggies, brown rice and chicken/sea food are filling and yum so I load up on that big time! I make them at home and it’s super easy. Overnight oats are great for breakfast. It’ll keep you fuller and give you energy throughout the day. Again this is what works for me.”
Talking about hard work she said, “I do fall off the wagon coz I love junk food and meetha is my kamzoori, but i dont give up. The most important thing is to have fun! If you cant do gym, get a couple of weights and do it at home. Or walk. The point is to be active and consistent. Remember hard work ALWAYS pays off!”

The star-studded film The Legend Of Maula Jatt is coming to our cinemas on Eid-ul-Fir this year.
Director Bilal Lashari in an interview with Express Tribune revealed details about his upcoming film which is going to entertain everyone.
“The film transcends cultural and linguistic divides. A Sindhi will enjoy it as much as any Punjabi. The content will be very palatable to the new generation that in times to come will extend the immortality of the fictional characters, Maula And Noori.”
He warned people that the film contains violent scenes and they must not bring their children to the cinema.
“Parents might not find the film suitable for their kids because of the graphic nature of few scenes so I would strictly advise against bringing children to the cinema. I would advise the faint-hearted and big babies to stay at home,” he said.
The Legend Of Maula Jatt has a star-studded cast which includes; Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malick, Ali Azmat, Faris Shafi and Gohar Rasheed amongst others. This film is going to be the biggest action movie in the history of Pakistani cinema.
Ohkay so, this episode of Ye Dil Mera had a couple of important scenes to it but nothing major. The pace of the drama has slowed down considerably & there are a few scenes which have started to seem repetitive. Indeed, they are doing everything to cover Amaan’s turmoil & mental state but it has now started to look like there’s nothing much to Amaan & Ana’s track than him manipulating her & she falling for it every single time. I hope when they go back to Islamabad & resume their normal routines, Ana starts showing some growth in her overall personality.
Same Pattern & Pace
This episode clarified how Amaan exactly recognized Meer Farooq the moment he saw him killing his family, which actually validates all the questions the viewers have been raising about Meer Farooq making a mistake of killing Humera’s entire family & not knowing about her son. Meer Farooq clearly met Amaan & they both were properly introduced, so yes, it does look like a glitch that he conveniently missed the detail of ending everyone’s life then & there but not paying the heed to the fact that Humera’s son was not in the car. Anyhow, Amaan has used this time in Daryabagh to recall everything in order to stay focused on how he has to take the next step in exposing Meer Farooq.
When it comes to Amaan & Ana’s personal equation, it was pretty much the same. Amaan telling & showing things to Ana differently only to confuse her further. One thing that was convincingly shown was how Ana’s mental health was deteriorating which was affecting her overall demeanour & behavior. She was just not herself anymore & was finding it very hard to be there, this was something that was portrayed brilliantly by Sajal Aly & her strong performance.
The major development in this episode was the effect that Sahira’s call had on Meer Farooq. It was enough to rattle him & once again, for him, no one else matters anymore but the fact that he can not even fathom the idea of standing with his head surrendered, guilt-stricken in front of Ana – this is what was making him restless. Meer Farooq knows he can get rid of anyone at any given time but the only person that matters to him, Ana won’t be able grasp it. So, Amaan ended his deal with Sahira right after he got all the evidence to prove that Meer Farooq was actually married to her. Sahira does feel trapped but Amaan definitely gave her the right advice that she should just stay by Meer Farooq’s side & not do anything that will make him suspect her. Ali Baksh is being over-efficient but for now he was unable to find any clue but I do feel his vigilance will lead him to something which will put Sahira in trouble later!
It was good to see Nargis Bua, she was trying to move on but was obviously finding it hard to cope with the fact that Ana was not a part of her life anymore. Nargis Bua knows in & out of Meer Farooq, that is why she chose not to stay under his roof. One thing is for sure that after everything will be revealed, Amaan will probably take care of Nargis Bua like his own family member because he genuinely feels for her. Humera & Meer Farooq met in front of Nilofer & he didn’t shy away from making it obvious that he was still not over Humera, maybe this is what she picked up too because of which she decided to leave ASAP. It seems even young Amaan didn’t like Meer Farooq much because Amaan was pretty unhappy with the way he was ogling at his mother. Kids obviously are very intuitive & observant so Amaan obviously picked up on little details & could notice that even his mother was not much comfortable though she portrayed him to be. I must commend Humera for the fact that she didn’t mind leaving her daughter alone with the servants every chance she got? Doesn’t make much sense & doesn’t seem realistic either.
The Story Should Move On
The overall episode started & ended on pretty much the same note, nothing major happened & it ended smoothly. The preview also didn’t really promise much in terms of story development because it looks like Amaan will still be playing riddles & then screaming at Ana only to later apologize to her & then cook a meal for her attentively. The story of Ye Dil Mera is so gripping & interesting but unfortunately, it is not the kind that can be spread over 30 episodes & still be able to hold the viewer’s interest. Stories like these deserve one development after another, one happening episode after another rather than being all about the number of episodes that were used to cover them. I feel it’s high time that they now shift the story to Amaan’s revenge & him putting his plan into action rather than hinting about his resentment. Saba Qamar Zaman’s Aqua Blue Lehenga
Although the lehenga of this dress itself is made out of solid colored crinkled fabric, the overall look of this ehtnic outfit is gorgeous. It seems to be a perfect wear for a walima bride or even for any female member of the family attending her sibling’s wedding. The entire focus is on the heavily embellished short shirt and dupatta, however the crinkled plain lehenga adds a new dimension of design and quirkiness to it. Saba Qamar carried this beautiful dress in a very casual manner, however if dressed formally, it is still going to look just as good.
Hira Mani’s Pink & Blue Lehenga
Although Hira Mani wore this lehenga for a photoshoot, it was enough to draw attention to it, which was what the designer Nickie Nina was intending to do. The color scheme of pink, purple and blue is not new, but the darker shade of pink and light blue dupatta makes it a little unique and different. This gorgeous lehenga has a lot happening to it, with silver and golden embellishment all over forming beautiful patterns. The stones and pearls splattered all across the dress. Mahira Khan wore a creation SFK Bridals, a fashion label run by Sadaf Fawad Khan and she modelled for this gorgeous black lehenga. This combination of black and gold is also something that can never go out of fashion and will make any dress look elegant and beautiful. This ensemble is no different. A heavily mughal era inspired regal black lehenga is heavily embellished. The crop blouse with full sleeves has a lot of intricate design and detailing. The upper part of the lehenga from waist down is also heavily embellished but the panels and spacing in between breaks the monotony and allows the design on the blouse as well as the bottom of the lehenga to shine through in all its glory.
Iqra Aziz’s Classic Red Lehenga

Minal Khan’s Pink Festive Lehenga
Minal Khan wore this creation of Erum Khan Couture on one of Aiman Khan‘s wedding functions. As the only sister of the bride, Minal had all the reasons to look as vibrant as she could, therefore this pink and orange lehenga with thick golden motifs and designs turned out to be a perfect choice. Every piece of this ensemble such as dupatta, blouse and lehenga had completely different designs and motifs, but when brought together, it looked like a perfect case of mix and match complimenting each other. This lehenga was loud and vibrant, just exactly what a sister of the bride or even groom would want to wear.
Hareem Farooq’s Colorful Velvet Lehenga
This was a beautiful design of Mohsin Naveed Ranjha that Hareem Farooq wore at her friend’s wedding. It was made out of blue and maroon velvet used for her full sleeved blouse and lehenga. The design on the lehenga was bold and enough to meet the eye. The addition of yellow chiffon embellished dupatta made this entire dress mehendi appropriate. Komal Rizvi, a famous Pakistani singer, stated that she won’t take any selfies with anyone anymore. She gave her statement during a talk show on Geo. She further added that a lot of her pictures went viral over the internet. She is not going to take selfies with others.
Komal believes that people become a victim of harassment in every field. Boys harass them differently for their satisfaction, but this destroys the life of a girl.
